This is mostly hearsay & vague memories.  I think I was 3 or 4 years old.  I had a Care bear, the yellow one with a sun on it’s stomach “Sunshine Bear” or “Funshine Bear” whatever it was called, that thing came with me everywhere!  I had just shown interest in watching hockey.  The Edmonton Oilers were the team to watch.  My parents took me to Edmonton, the bear came along too.  We went to see the Edmonton Oilers practice at the West Edmonton Mall rink.  Wayne Gretzky was there.  We watched the practice.  One of the players skate towards us & waved at us.  I asked my mom “Who is that?” she replied “That was Wayne Gretzky”.  I was confused, “Where are his 9s?”  Practice jerseys don’t have numbers on them, I found out the hard way?

We stayed overnight at a hotel.  On the way home I was devastated.  I lost my Care bear.  I’m guessing I was bawling?  My parents called the hotel, & they found it when cleaning the room.  They mailed the bear to us & all was well.

I really like Edmonton, other than that trip.  I was a kid who A) Didn’t recognize Wayne Gretzky & B) Lost his teddy bear!  Sad trip for a 4 year old!

The guy that does music reviews on rock & metal music. He also speaks about his health as well.  I don’t need to write a book?  Everyone else has their own story & should write a book.

Just goes to show that everybody has a back story & some of them aren’t pretty

Soundgarden shared it….

Forget Jonny Depp, this is the “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” to see!

Consequence of Sound’s Masterpiece review.  The book is great also!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Chromeo’s” album “White Women”

Top 50 metal albums of all time. It’s subjective, but I/we might learn something?

I’d have to add “Lamb of God’s” Ashes of the Wake album & “Trivium’s” Ascendancy album. LANGUAGE IN THE LAMB OF GOD VIDEO!!!!

Wednesday’s Rock It Out Blog. Cassettes? No thank you. Vinyl, CD, or Digital. I like having the actual product in my hands but digital music is so convenient! I’m running out of room for CDs or vinyl.

I prefer this version of the movie. Not the Jonny Depp version. The book is better than either movie in my opinion.

39 years ago Wednesday, Kiss released “Rock and Roll Over”

A brief history of musicians who went behind the camera.

Countdown clock on Foo Fighters website, with words “Nothing’s Set in Stone” in the Sonic Highways font.

REALLY! Alcohol ban at an AC/DC show. If I’m at a concert I MIGHT have a beer. I have never been drunk at a concert. I’m there to watch the band on stage. Lot’s of other people like to get a little tipsy. That’s fine with me, just not how I roll.

Jeff Buckley is/was AWESOME!!!

Local country (independent) artist Chris Henderson rockin’ number 7 on the independent artists charts!!

Article/interview with Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge/Tremonti Project)

Stephen Colbert on the holiday Starbucks cup. It’s what’s inside that counts. A $5 coffee that tastes nothing like coffee. A treat to have maybe 3 times a year, get over it.

Nasty things Guns n’ Roses have said to each other, article.

Pearl Jam covers Pink Floyd

Foo Fighters shared a Motorhead link

Former “Motorhead” drummer dies.

How did I treat my flu?

Foo Fighters countdown clock is at 10 days at the moment

Songs I like, “Thornley” 2 albums released in 10 years while “Big Wreck” was on hiatus. Not really “Big Wreck’s” sound. I prefer the first album.

Sorry, can’t embed the link
