Welcome back to the program!  You’re here so if you like what you see, might as well subscribe?  Either on Facebook or with your email in the bottom right corner, it’s really that easy & it’s free!  I know you want to tell your friends, go ahead!

I woke up late on Monday & I was sore & stiff.  I didn’t do my exercise, I just stretched for an hour before I turned on my computron.  Nothing is done on the interweb until I’ve had breakfast & exercised.  Wasted a day.

Today I got up on time.  Totally half asleep until I got roughly half way through my exercises.  Feeling much better & energized today!

I turned on the Canadian National news channel.  Covid numbers are on the rise, Donald Trump is pretty much encouraging vigilante justice on any protest, there are hurricanes on the East coast, & now the West coast is dealing with wild fires.  If I lived in the USA, I’m pretty sure I’d take 2 mental health days a week.  Yet I think it was a month or 2 ago that Stephen Colbert showed a poll of Americans 72% said that what’s going on is terrible while 28% thought everything was fine.  That’s an odd 28%.

I’m done buying guitars once I order the one in February.  We’re not suited for condo life.  A house or whatever Kim wants in the meantime.  Kim wants an attached garage so she doesn’t have to drag my wheelchair through the snow.  It has to be wheelchair accessible.  I’d prefer a finished basement & an easily accessible deck or patio in the backyard.  2 bathrooms, 2 or 3 bedrooms & hopefully delightful surprises of a bedroom & bathroom in the basement.  I can’t really help with renovations, although we’re sure some will be needed.

I look at guitars online for fun with zero intention of purchasing another until we are comfortable in a house, probably not even then?  If I wanted another guitar I’d have to play the 1 coming to me & the one I hope to order in February (both for a long time) to find out what I’d want or I’d have to be making money with my guitars?

I royally embarrassed myself on the weekend.  My brother, very laid back, brought over his new amplifier so I could hear it and he could try my guitars.  He got it all set up, grabbed a guitar and played through his amp.  He’s has always been a MUCH better player than me.  He handed me the guitar & I literally said out loud “What do I know?” I froze, I was clueless & then I played like crap.  I’m pretty sure he didn’t care that much, if at all.  I thought what I played was terrible & embarrassing.  I spent 4 years, if not more, rehearsing & playing live with him, but I choked in my house in front of my brother. All I can say is anxiety sucks!  I know that next time it will be much better, I know I can relax around any family members.

Kim & I did some math on the weekend regarding my RDSP (Retirement Disability Savings Plan).  Money will be tight until my amplifier & guitar are paid for, but afterwards we’ll have a little more room to breathe.  I have no plans at all in getting another guitar.  Our bank account agrees with me on this decision.

I’m glad I saw this review/demo of an Evertune guitar bridge.  I didn’t know what they were or why they’re such a big deal.  Now that I know what the purpose is, I’m glad I don’t/won’t own one.  Takes the fun/skill out of playing guitar if you ask me.

Saturday evening I actually felt relaxed for the first time in months or even years.  It was 10:00 pm, Kim & Brewster were in bed.  I had a rum on the rocks & watched a Blue Jays game in the dark.  I can’t remember the last time I felt that calm.  Seems that I’m always worried about what’s around the corner or what we’re gonna do at this point in the future.  It finally felt like I could just let go for a while.

A lazy fall Sunday!  Watched an afternoon baseball game while Kim was making beef barley soup.  Went for a drive to get out of the house, had soup for supper.  Played guitar, watched TV and called it day.

Learned this 1st one on Sunday night.  2nd one just kinda happened over the week, & I’m still kinda working on the switching to the important parts where 1 of 5 guitars stands out for a bit on this 3rd song.

Ended up just messing around in different tunings & figured out these riffs…

For some reason I usually finish up a few hours playing guitar with this song?

I fell asleep to “Iron Maiden” the album “Powerslave” then a sampling of 4 albums & finally “Kongos” the album “Lunatic”

I exercised to ”Lamb of God” the album “Ashes of the Wake”

Kim calls me the human iPod. I have a lot of useless music trivia in my head. My dad has a TON & my brother has a fair share too. If they brought back “Rock n’ Roll Jeopardy” any of the 3 of us could do very well as contestants. If we’re all together & somebody wants to play a music trivia game, we aren’t allowed to be on 1 team with 2 of us on that team, there has to be a minimum of 3 teams.

As for walking this week, I said no, not this week. I pushed it too far last week & with being awake until 2:00 am on Friday, I’m still quite tired. No, I did not drink, I had a pint of beer with my supper & that was my alcohol consumption for the weekend.

Muse shared it….

New song/video for “Rivers of Nihil”. Never heard of them?

Everytime “Revolver magazine” posts something, I sing this to myself in my head….

I don’t get how “Slipknot” & “Marilyn Manson” fit together? Apples & Oranges to me?

Looks to me that Apple/iTunes should get it together &……………….wait……..this will blow your mind….PAY the musicians/disperse the cash differently & have the biggest piece of the money go to the artist(s)! Everybody made money on music up to the late ’90s, what’s different now? Do I smell a class action lawsuit brewin’?

I don’t even feel any sympathy for the creators of any music streaming or downloading site at this point. It’s easy & convenient for music fans, but who in their right mind wants to work for free! Since the artists aren’t making money on recording new material, maybe they should just make it for themselves, never release anything & just tour? We’ll see how long that lasts before they all go broke?

A buddy of mine could use some help ASAP! In Regina!

“I never thought that Farrell and I would be in this position but we are looking for a place to live immediately for our safety and our family’s safety. We had a mold inspection today on our house just to ensure that everything was OK and safe for the baby and I am very pissed to report that it is not the case! We are over run with mold in about 2/3 of the house, we have no choice but to leave, the issue is where? Where can we find a place that is mold free that we can afford for our future son and our cats? We are amazing renters, we take great pride in our house as many who have been there can attest too, this occurred through no fault of our own. I am begging anyone on here that may know of anyone who has a house they are renting out that is affordable $1300 max as maternity leave doesn’t pay much and we are gonna be tightening up the straps financially to ensure our child has the best quality of life possible. I am completely blind sided by this and am beside myself trying to figure out exactly WTF we are gonna do. We have been through the ringer and have always come out on top and we will again, no questions there. If there is any way you guys can share this around to potential owners or friends you may know of that have a decent house in a decent area I will be forever in your debt. Also a gigantic thank you to all of our friends that have offered help. You have our eternal gratitude “

Another season of “Daredevil” WOO HOO!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. It cut off the end, sorry!

Stephen Jenkins (Third Eye Blind singer) on the ’90s

The ’90s had a lot of variety for music. Remember I said “Variety”/”Quantity” not “Quality”. I listen to groups from the ’90s. “Grunge” & “rock” music & some “post-Grunge” stuff. I like that I’ve gotten into metal, it was hard to find in the ’90s and it still is. Near the end of the ’90s I kept thinking to myself “There has to be something more, something heavier?” Now I find it easier to get the music I want to hear, which is mostly hard rock & metal. Both very small niche markets. Once you’re into those tiny markets, there is more than you expected to be there. Of course at times I need something different, I’m not just into metal & nothing else, like a full blown metal head. I can’t just listen to someone screaming at me all of the time, other people can though, that’s cool with me. I don’t need to understand it, but I do acknowledge it. Just like the ’80s L. A. hair metal scene, I don’t understand the appeal, but I acknowledge that most of the music I like from the ’90s is heavily influenced by that scene.

Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age & Eagles of Death Metal) & Brody Dalle (the Distillers) have their 3rd child

Sorry about the album artwork. I couldn’t find an original version without it? X-RATED!!!

No, I wasn’t a fan of “The Distillers”, I knew of a few people who were though.

I have a question for “The Simpsons”. I’m 36 years old, yet I did an air band to a song from your 1st season soundtrack on cassette in grade 6. How long are you going to milk this cow? Season 1 1990.

“Third Ion” 2nd album on the way!!!!–2#/

Their first album was good. This one sounds even better!

“Volbeat” American tour dates. I was into “Volbeat” for roughly 2 weeks, not for me. Holland’s “Nickelback”. I was into “Nickelback” for almost 2 years, also not for me. These bands take a lot of crap from haters. They’ve done something right though, you know who “Nickelback” is? It’s called hard work & dedication. They’ve both have likely busted their butts to achieve their success. Hard work, dedication & a very small amount of luck, like %0.1.

12 shocking crimes in rock & metal. I hope they include church burning by extreme/black metal groups in Europe? Yes, unfortunately it is a real thing.

In Regina, we don’t have the option through cable to get “FX” & “HBO” costs $20.00 a month for 3 channels. Now most people are going to online subscriptions like Netflix, Shomi, Crackle, Crave TV, etc.

“White Zombie” box set on the way.

“Paramore” shared it…….

Yep, I’ve seen “Machinehead” once opening for “Lamb of God” a long time ago in a city far, far away…… LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!

That’s quite long enough for today!

However you’re getting this, please pass it along?

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Jimmy Eat World” the album “Bleed American” their 3rd studio album.

Everything is still brown waiting for the snow to fall. It just doesn’t quite feel right. It feels more like a very nice halloween. I want snow. I even turned off our heater, I think it kicked in once, because it has never been below room temperature here, it’s usually 25 Celsius, 77 Fahrenheit. I try to get my workout done as early as possible, after I finish a black coffee, a fruit & vegetable drink that I make & leave in the fridge, along with some water. Most of the time Brewster sleeps through it, today he didn’t. I’m on the floor to do 2 sets of 25 push ups this morning the entire time with a dog licking or biting my right hand? He must have slept well last night? When Kim left for work this morning, Brewster just wanted to play/wrestle as soon as the door closed. He only cuddles with Kim & I’m the one he likes to play with. We have our roles, he’s trained us well!

20 greatest metal riffs of all time? It’s a pretty good list, I was in the dark as to who & what the riffs were until I saw Alice Cooper at number 15 or 16?

“Highly Suspect” has been nominated for 2 Grammy Awards. Best Rock Album & Best Rock Song. I don’t know which song but this is one of three without language in it.

I guess “Rush” drummer, Neil Peart, is now retired. Fair enough he’s been in Rush since before they released their 1st album in 1974.

Pentatonix are nominated for a Grammy as well. For this song….

It’s a music blog so whoever likes it can subscribe!

I’m going to leave this first paragraph until I have 100 subscribers

PLEASE share this link & pass it around to those that might enjoy it. Subscribe from a desktop or laptop computer with your email where it says “follow”. Then you will receive a confirmation email that I don’t know what it says. Follow the instructions. After that you’ll receive each post in your email inbox on any device. Let’s get some more people on board? Don’t feel as though you need to click on every link. I’ll do this so nobody else has to. I’m on facebook & email only. I’ve found people on face book that I’ve lost track of over the years, everybody has an email address for social media sites, might as well us it for this blog. I have no intention of putting this on twitter, instagram, facebook, etc. it’s an old fashion website. Up there are instructions on how to subscribe. I’m at 44 subscribers so all 44 of you please help me out? DO I HEAR 50, 50, 50? Don’t worry, I won’t use the email addresses unless told to.
Even though you subscribe to the blog I always recommend coming to the site to read it in case someone comments on a topic. Comments are always welcomed. If you’re using “Google Chrome” as a web browser on a PC the links will be open to show you the title, artist & a still photo of the video. Mac computers I know nothing about.

Give the site a minute or 2 to load all of the links & everything should be fine.

Apple, just stop! NOW! The entire world does not want to subscribe to a hi-tech radio station. There are others like me who want to own their music digitally. Why do we have iTunes? Right it was because of Napster, I forgot. There’s already enough streaming sites out there. Up the prices on iTunes, go from $0.00 to &20.00 let the artists set their prices. I’ll always say people should pay for the work others have done, actors, directors, musicians, painters, mechanics, waiters, waitresses, etc. When did everyone just say “This should be free”?
