I fell asleep to “Myles Kennedy” the album “Year of the Tiger”.

I exercised to “Chromeo” 2 albums on shuffle.

No new wheelchair yet!

Yep, I have little moments of anxiety.  I really don’t like meeting new people while I’m in this wheelchair with an iPatch.  On the flip side of this I’m not even 40 yet, so I’m way too young to not meet new people.  What causes my anxiety?  I couldn’t tell you, because I have no idea?  I know that nobody stares at me in public or anywhere else.

Lately I just always feel as though I don’t fit in, which is a double edged sword for me.  I don’t want to be like anyone else, but I also want to feel accepted (which I know I am).  It’s all in my head.

It’s me thinking “I’m here, now what can I do to speed up my recovery?  I’m not at the point that I can move on, so what do I do now?  This exercising is getting redundant, not easy but redundant.”  Sure I mix up my exercises daily, but that’s not enough.  I need a break, but I don’t like having an extended break.  If it’s a break that’s 5 or more days, it makes my exercises more difficult when I start again.  That being said 5 days is not a long enough break.

I could be that we had multiple visitors last week, & that was a welcome change of pace but now it’s back to the regular routine again?  Whatever it is, it’s in my head.  NOBODY has done anything to cause this, it’s just me in a slump.

I’ll likely get some hate from this but this is my view on millennials, as an outsider.

The average age for a kid to get a cell phone is 6 years old, WHY?  I’m 38 & I don’t need a cell phone.  I had a cell phone before I had cancer, it certainly didn’t save my life, & I don’t miss it at all.  If I had a kid that wanted a cell phone, they would be more than welcome to get one, with some rules in place.  Rule number 1, get a job & buy your own phone, rule 2, when the kid comes home from school, the phone goes away until the homework is done & supper is cleaned up.  Until that’s finished, no phone.  Final rule, if the kid’s in a room with other people, the phone disappears.  I’m 38 & a cell phone for myself would feel like a HUGE waste of money.  Did your parents take a phone call when someone was over?  I always heard “Can I call you back later?  We have company over right now.”  Why does that not apply to today’s world?  Texting is the same if you ask me.  Relax the text will be there still, try some etiquette?   That’s just me though & my opinion.

As for streaming music, I get the appeal, it’s out there & legal.  My iPod, 160 gig classic still works, but it does not work for streaming music.  In this case I’m either going to pay hundreds of dollars for an iPhone or iPod touch or roughly $200 for a decent vinyl player & a vinyl collection?  I’m leaning heavily towards vinyl & when my iPod dies there will be no replacement for it.  Napster was free when it first appeared & I like iTunes.  That album you’ve been streaming for a year now has cost you $120 since last year when you got it.  I paid $9.99 once & I haven’t paid to hear it again.  For me streaming music is a wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing.  I’d much rather pay once & own it.

Do you really think musicians will go along with streaming music where they can make $0.05 per stream?  Musicians prior to this streaming fad were loaded with cash, but now musicians are basically working for free.  Remember that this is my opinion & you have every right to your opinion.

Well millennials are taking away my option to buy cheap music.  They’re convinced streaming music is a better option?  I guess anyone using a streaming music site doesn’t want to OWN their music.  “Thank you” millennials for ruining a good idea.  Apple could easily keep the iTunes option if they’re still offering the streaming/Apple Music service.  Same technology I assume?

Just let it play multiple videos regarding millennials in the work place!

This is another stereotype that has exceptions, like all stereotypes.

This won’t happen.  Tuition is not free, most of us have had to pay tuition!  I hope she’s not taking economics!

I didn’t search this subject on this is just what was on there!

I was always told if you want something you have to work for it.  I was born in 1980 & my brother was born in 1987.  He was told the same as I was.  He’s not a stereotypical millennial.  I’ve never considered my younger cousins a stereotypical millennials either.  I’m the oldest cousin on my dad’s side of the family & among the 4 oldest on my mother’s side.  I don’t think it’s the kids fault?  As a parent maybe treat your kids the same way you were raised?  I’m not a parent for that reason.  I don’t think I have it in me to be a responsible parent & raise a responsible child.  I’m not saying the people I know aren’t responsible or that I’m forcing any type of parenting skills on anyone.  This is how I would raise my child if I had one.

My father & I went to see Queens of the Stone Age in Calgary during the spring, I think it was near the end of May?  Royal Blood was the opener.  Before the concert started there were people sitting to my left having a discussion.  I couldn’t see them since my iPatch is on my left eye, anything to the left of me is totally out of my vision.  I don’t know if they were brother & sister, dating or married, or friends that came to see Queens of the Stone Age.  They were speaking loudly so I heard everything they were saying, & they had thick British accents.  They were talking about Oasis & Noel Gallagher.  The male had absolutely no clue who Oasis was?  The female was explaining everything she could about them to the guy.  How does someone come from the same country as one of the biggest rock bands of the ‘90s & not have a clue who Oasis is, or their guitar player & songwriter?  It’s really not that big of a deal, I was completely flabbergasted!  Whoever the girl was knew everything though.  Oasis is probably as well known in England as The Tragically Hip is in Canada.  Not everyone will be a HUGE fan but most people know who they are.  She explained everything to him, & they sounded as though they were the same age.  It just baffled me that they both knew who Queens of the Stone Age were but not Oasis, weird?  Maybe I just have too much useless music trivia in my head, it’s genetic!  My brother & I got it from mostly dad, but both parents.  I only have 3 “Oasis” albums & 2 “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” albums.

I found out about Queens of the Stone Age via Nirvana.  Dave Grohl was Nirvana’s drummer, then singer for Foo Fighters, then played drums on 2 complete albums for Queens of the Stone Age.  Oasis’ big album in 1995 was also the year Foo Fighters released their debut album.

I fell asleep to “Radiohead” the album “OK Computer” followed by “Lamb of God” the album “Sacrament”

Don’t feel as though you need to open every link.

I hope you all have fun tonight & get home safe!  No drinks for me.  I’m on some powerful muscle relaxants for my annoying nerve.  A few days after I was in the WRC they put on a “happy hour” for the residents.  I went to it.  I’m on multiple pills 3 times a day & I’m not supposed to drink then they turn around & have one of the nurse’s hand out 2 free drinks to anyone?  Holy mixed messages Batman? I don’t remember if I was able to drink anything at the time.  I couldn’t drink anything for quite a while.  My water & food came through IV for a few years.  My IV was full of a liquid called TPN.  I think it was 2010 that I was able to drink through a straw.  Even beer.  You don’t see that “every day”.

Yeah, I saw my chiropractor yesterday.  My dad took me.  I left here before 2:00 pm, then stayed at my parents’ house until after supper.  Kim had a hair appointment & wasn’t going to be home until 8:00pm or so.  Mom sent home some supper for her.

The chiropractor said it moved really well yesterday, & first did a lot of work on my ribs that had moved.  It feels REALLY good now.  He told me to gradually work into a not so demanding exercise & to keep up with my stretches.  So I did today.  Stretches, 100 crunches & 20 pushups.  As far as the leg exercises go, I plan to do them once everything feels 100% better.  Better safe than sorry.

My routine at the moment is slightly wonky, with my nerve being stubborn.  I get up & get ready at 7:00am.  By the time I do that, & pour a cup of coffee it’s near 7:30.  I watch 2 of the 3 late night talk shows I record, then CNN…………….& I laugh about not having a leader who thinks he can do whatever he wants.  I think I see Sean Spicer flapping his lips, trying to spin a quote from Trump, more often than I see Kim?  I can just imagine how he feels when his alarm goes off.  “Ah, what am I gonna have to spin today.  Wait I’ll check twitter”

Princes “New Power Generation” band has some tour dates coming up.  Video inside the link.

The new Green Day isn’t too shabby!

Comedian, Tracy Ullman, points out sexist double standard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The “Radiohead” album “OK Computer” is & always has been considered one of the most important albums of all time.  The really cool thing was they wrote it while on tour for the album “The Bends” in the late 1990s & Foo Fighters were opening for them.  Foo Fighters would do a 10:00 minute sound check, then Radiohead would do a 2 hour sound check arguing about how to arrange the songs.  Go to 15:12 in the video to hear FF drummer Taylor Hawkins talk about opening for Supergrass & Radiohead way back when.

Yes, I have Supergrass’ greatest hits album, on CD.

“Weird” Al details his next LP with his 8 bit video game music video.  All for his box set “Squeeze the Box”

Expected/anticipated hard rock & metal releases for 2017.  A lot of I don’t know, I don’t really care, I don’t think so, a few I can’t wait, & if there’s a new A Perfect Circle being released, we can wait even longer for the next Tool release.  Maynard probably won’t sing on 2 different albums then he’s supposed to tour with A Perfect Circle.  All of this while maintaining a vineyard?

Songs I’ve performed with the handful, 3, groups.

P.S. Sorry, yesterday’s post was brief.  Facebook was eerily quiet & I didn’t have much to say.

I fell asleep to“Kongos” the new album “Egomaniac”

I exercised to “Bryan Adams” his greatest hits, then silence, not quite long enough?

I guess I did a little more than usual, that’s probably why the 16 song album didn’t play long enough. I’ve successfully added more push ups today & yesterday.

Yes, I like to have a plan for whatever is happening on a certain day or if there’s a certain event. 95% of the time it doesn’t work out according to anybody’s plan Life’s not a scheduled event. You’re born, & immediately people in your life usually do whatever is needed. I’m lucky to have 2 great familys. My family, Kim’s family & all of our friends! Something different will happen almost daily. We all need to take everything one day at a time. You know there is a good possibility that something will pop up & you’ll have to adjust your plan accordingly. I’ve never had a 5 year plan. I expected to have a 9-5 job, a couple of kids & an amazing wife! Only 1/3 of that plan worked out, it was that Kim is an amazing wife! Cancer changed the other 2 things. I had never planned on having cancer, who does? It hit me & everyone in my life, including me, had to adjust their plan. I never want to be a “burden” to anyone, but here I am with hundreds of really great people worrying about me. I’m fine, I’ve got this. If I need help I know you’re their to help me if I need it. So please don’t stress yourself out “worrying” about me? Hold my beer & watch this! I’ll call you if I need you or you call me if you need me? I worry way more about others than I do myself, that’s how I want to be! I think I’m somewhere in the middle though & I’ll likely be there until I become an “Avenger”?

I fell on my parents driveway on Friday & whoever saw it was ready to help me. I was fine, not even a scrape on me. That right there would be reason to panic, if I was bleeding, but I wasn’t. I got up immediately & got inside. You know what still hurts from Friday? When Brewster jumped on my lap & hit his tiny skull on my lip, no blood or anything visible, just a throbbing pain in my bottom lip! It’s a routine when we get in a car. He waits in the driver seat while I get my seat belt on, then I call him over to sit with me. He’s hit my jaw a few times & he’s overshot & hit his head on the window a few times.

Pentatonix shared it……………………

Friday is looking really good, music wise, not just the weekend. 2 albums for me!!!!!! “Third Ion” their 2nd album will be released that day “Biolith” & “Chevelle” will release the album “The North Corridor”

I like Beck. Well his album “Odelay” anyways. I haven’t listened to his recent material though. I’d say I’m a casual fan.

I didn’t this movie tanked? I see commercials for it all of the time.

One share on Facebook from each reader would be greatly appreciated! I don’t make any money from this so I don’t “Boost” a post on here.

I fell asleep to – The new “Lacuna Coil” album “Delirium” that was released last night. Female fronted metal group from Italy. The Entire album.

Then I fell asleep half way through the new “Rob Zombie” album “The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser”

I exercised to “The 1975” the album “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”

Yes, this is also on facebook if you prefer.

Exercise total for the week. Remember this was a 4 day week for me Monday was a holiday; 6000 crunches, 420 leg lifts, & 240 squats.

I exercise my core muscles mostly. When I do my leg lifts on my back the entire point of that exercise is to keep my abdominal muscles flexed while slowly lifting & resting my legs as well as breathing throughout the routine. I always count in pairs doing my leg lifts on my hands & knees or on my back. 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3 etc. So when I say I’ve done x number of leg lifts, that’s the amount on both legs. On my hands & knees, every muscle kicks in, my abdominal muscles, my arms, my legs, my shoulders, etc. I’m at pretty much 60 squats, 1500 crunches, 100 leg lifts, 5 days a week unless there’s a vacation day or “holiday”. Next week I want to add sets of 20 push ups to the mix again, I know I can do at least 20 a day, so I’ll see how I feel after that?

I’ve combined my love of music with my stage 4 cancer survivor story. If you read this at all Fridays are the blogs with the most talk about cancer. If you prefer the music chat it’s here too. I don’t expect anyone to open each link, it’s there if you’re interested. This is also meant to be interactive, let me know what you like, what you don’t like, what you’d like to see more of on the blog or suggest an exercise I should try?

Power went out yesterday just before Kim got home & of course Brewster freaked out 2-3 hours of him panting & shaking at the front door. I just held him at the door & tried to keep his mouth closed so he couldn’t pant.

Thursday’s episode of “Netflix & Chill”

Sorry it was “Lacuna Coil” album “Delirium” that was released last night. A little heavier than I had anticipated. Still good though, at least with one listen thus far.
