Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Welcome back to the program!  You’re here so if you like what you see, might as well subscribe?  Either on Facebook or with your email in the bottom right corner, it’s really that easy & it’s free!  I know you want to tell your friends, go ahead!

Exercise total for 2020.

15,360 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

8,850 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

23,000 Crunches

24,650 Leg lifts

10,900 Squats

13,065 Back flexes

Walking distance was 1,046 meters=3,487 feet (That’s only 3 times walking)

Down & Up 128 stairs

I was going to weigh myself, then I realized something…it’s just a number that means nothing.  People see me and often think I’m under 200 pounds.  I don’t know if that’s flattery or not?  I know that my weight will never be 1??.  I graduated high school in June of 1998 at 185 pounds and I was 213 pounds on July 1st 2020.  I feel good, I’m still cancer free since December 31st 2008, & I’m rarely sick now.

I know it’s been a terrible year for a LOT of people.  People dying, sick, lost their job, housing, some are starving, etc.  I wanted to catch up, but not have the world go through a situation like this!  Please don’t take any of this as bragging, as it’s not intended to come off that way at all.  I’m lucky enough that close friends & family have been OK this year, & I worked my butt of to get down to 213 pounds, I haven’t been that light since 1999.  Decent year of exercise/rehabilitation.  I stopped exercising after my morning exercises on Friday, December 18, 2020.  I’ve been doing some stretching.

Kim bought me a guitar, with her overtime money, for my 40th birthday on January 30th, 2020.  We had both been saving money prior to that and I ordered a PRS S2 Custom 22 semi-hollow guitar.  I ordered it on January 15th, and with a backorder delay followed by Covid delays, it arrived at the end of September.  I had been saving for my amplifier, footswitch, and a PRS S2 McCarty 594.  The PRS S2 McCarty 594 will be my next purchase & endgame in 4-6 years.  I ended up going shopping at the music store on Monday, December 14th 2020.  I bought the amplifier, footswitch, and this very nice special Epiphone guitar.  The amplifier is also in this photo.  I nicknamed this guitar as “Wannabe” since it’s made by Epiphone but is shaped VERY similar to a PRS guitar….

If you’re keeping score that was 3 guitars & an amplifier in 1 year.  I guess we’re not poor, we were just saving money for bigger purchases.  I’ll shut up about being broke now.  3 guitars & an amplifier in 1 year will never happen or need to happen again.  I now own 6 electric guitars & one acoustic.

Let’s get this year headed the right way!  We’ll go in quietly with our masks on, stay 6 feet apart & win me a guitar!  I’m currently trying to win a “Paul’s Guitar” SE.  This was my runner up to the PRS S2 McCarty 594 further below.  If you’d like to help me win the guitar, please do so or win it for yourself.  I’ll put instructions & a link below this video describing it.

Below is the video to watch and win the guitar.  You have to subscribe & leave a comment stating who your favourite guitar player is.  Hover over the bottom right corner of the video after you’ve pushed play.  Click on the word “YOUTUBE” to go to the site, this link will take you directly to the site & video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S-hLFqPOGI&t=12s&ab_channel=RobertBaker.  You can leave your comment there below the video so he sees it. The guitar in Canada is $327 more than in the USA.  This won’t cost you anything to enter & you’ll likely enjoy his guitar videos.  He’s a great guitar player that I watch on www.youtube.com.  My birthday is on January 30th, this would be a VERY cool early birthday present!  If you win and want to ship it to me, ask him to contact Christopher Fraser, I’m in the comments and I’ll give him my shipping address personally.  This is the first guitar I’ve heard where the split-coil pickups actually make a noticeable difference sonically.  I love this guitar, I want this guitar, but I don’t want to pay $1300 for it.  GO TEAM GO!

I will definitely buy the McCarty 594 whether I win the “Paul’s Guitar” or not.  The “Paul’s Guitar” definitely won’t be replacing the role of another guitar & it will get played VERY often.

The PRS S2 McCarty 594 is a must purchase for me.  My next & final purchase as far as guitar stuff goes.  The PRS SE Paul’s Guitar is a VERY close 2nd but also incredibly different.  If I win this guitar, the PRS S2 McCarty 594 will sound the same but look different.  It’ll be red & in the shape of a Les Paul.

For me, I like variety with my guitars.  Each guitar I own has something different about it from the others now that could be one of many things.  The bridge, pickups, electronics, tuning machines, the tuning itself, brand name, colour, body shape, etc.

I’m not a master guitar player at all, but I really don’t like tuning each string of a guitar to something completely different.  I watched another youtube video over the holidays.  The guy stated he had 60 guitars but plays 6 of them most of the time.  I don’t want to be that type of person, if I’m not using something, it’s just taking up space & could be used by someone else.  Even with what I have at the moment, I play all of my guitars within 2 days, or I learn a song in a certain tuning, keep playing it, & learn other songs in that tuning.

Most guitar players on youtube have jobs involving guitars and have anywhere from 10-90 guitars, 4-40 amplifiers, & 20-150 effect pedals.  I don’t have a job & I’m not on youtube.  I have one amplifier and I only need one amplifier.  I have 3 effect pedals & don’t need or want more.  There’s always another guitar on a guitar players list, at some point you gotta say “Why?” & “That money can be used elsewhere!”  “I like to play”.

My body needed a bit of a break.  This year I expect even more effort from myself in many areas of my life.  To say it the shortest way possible, I want to work harder & be a better person.  Moving things up one gear in a year isn’t enough for me this year, I think I should move up 3 gears over the course of a year.  I don’t know how to measure that but I do expect more of myself.  As with most years for me, I need to get my act together and walk with my walker more.  2020 wasn’t an easy year for me, I pushed myself quite hard.  Still wasn’t as rough on me as it was on so many other people though.

My brother won the GRAND PRIZE of “REVV” amplifiers 12 days of Christmas giveaways!  He won their fancy brand new REVV amplifier on December 23!  So happy for him!  Go to the 46 minute mark to see it!

Kim saw a pre-Christmas sale on pillows.  We needed new sleeping pillows on our bed.  They’re made by a company called “Purple”.  Originally they started making wheelchair cushions from this product.  They now make pillows & mattresses.  The mattresses are guaranteed for 10 years.  We’ll be saving for one of those, were a year or 2 away from needing a new mattress.  Yes, our pillows are HEAVY, like 10 pounds heavy.  You don’t lift them or fold them.  You can adjust the height of the pillow by inserting or removing 2 thinner pieces into the case.

As for actual Christmas celebrations, on December 24th my brother, sister-in-law, parents, Kim & I all drove over to my Grandparents condo/senior home.  We stood outside of their suite on the ground floor in the parking lot.  We gave them a gift basket of a TON of treats & goodies.  We then sang them “We wish you a Merry Christmas” as my brother played it on guitar.  Even had a lady on the 3rd floor step out onto her balcony and join in on kazoo!

Christmas day was just Kim & I at my parents place, odd but still good.  My brother & sister-in-law opted to stay home, as did my grandparents, which makes sense.  My cousin from Winnipeg, Manitoba would have been here too but Covid, so that made sense too.  It was a smaller gathering than we would have liked, but we did what we could.  We did all open gifts over zoom or facetime, so that was nice.  I asked for money as a gift and spent most of it the next day on guitar stuff from amazon.  Multiple gauges of strings, a guitar maintenance tool kit, & some locking tuners for one of my guitars.  My parents did get me a gig bag for Christmas, but it didn’t get here until the 30th.

On December 26th our Christmas was over.  The tree came down, the decorations were put away & paint preparation started for our renovations.  2 TVs were taken off the walls, patching & sanding was done, paint & rollers were bought, furniture was moved, etc.  I just stayed out of the way, Kim’s been on a mission ever since.  I stayed in this room out of the way.  I worked on/cleaned up a few guitars & practiced a LOT.

We watched a movie from Netflix over the holidays it was called “Death to 2020”, so not for kids even though many lived through 2020.  It’s a scripted film with real news clips from the year, with a very recognizable cast.  I thought it was great!  Kim thought it was OK.

I don’t want you to think I was in this room doing nothing while Kim’s been painting our condo suite.  I figure I owe it to you to hopefully show you some progress I’ve made on guitar.  Please remember a few things.  I strongly LOATHE being in any type of photograph & I get VERY self-concious.  If you think it sucks that’s fine, as of 2011 I couldn’t tie my shoelaces.  People used to pay to see me play & sing on stage.

You’ll hear me play abbreviated versions of 3 Foo Fighters’ songs & 1 “Big Wreck” song.  My 2 favourite bands & have been since the ‘90s.  Yes, the guitar I’m playing in the “Big Wreck” video is signed by Ian Thorney of Big Wreck.  They’re OK, you’ll hear “That Song” by Big Wreck, & “Low”, “The Pretender”, & “All My Life” by Foo Fighters.  Need to clean them up, but that’s what you get for now.

My favourite album of the year was easily ‘Moral Panic’ by “Nothing but Thieves”.  I didn’t get much in terms of new music since there wasn’t a lot of stuff released that I was into but I can think of 7 releases coming this year off the top of my head.  I’ll be streaming again while putting a minimal amount of money aside for a guitar.  I still don’t like the idea of streaming music, neither do a LOT of working musicians.

“Foo Fighters” new album ‘Medicine at Midnight’ will be released on Friday, February 5th.  If I get cancer again this February 5th, I’m gonna blame my favourite band but still call it an odd coincidence!

The first time I saw the title before hearing the song, I honestly thought they released a “Genesis” cover!  I love me some Genesis but a new Foo Fighters song is more than welcomed!

Exercise total for 4 days.

500 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

300 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

600 Crunches

600 Leg lifts

200 Squats

280 Back flexes

1:05 hour of yoga over 2 days

Short week made for an easier week of exercise!  I’m just glad the week is over for me.  I’d do more exercises if I had the energy.  We were going walking for a bit.  I should probably keep that up & do some in our parkade with my walker on the weekends.  My motivation for everything is “Somebody’s doing better than me”

I’ve decided that since I’m Canadian, there’s little need to watch American news.  Whatever Donald Trump says or does has zero shock value for me and even if I try to avoid it, it’s all over the Canadian National news channel & my local news.  Even when I watch www.youtube.com I avoid it.  He wants attention & ratings, well I don’t care to see or listen to him & he’s not a Canadian politician.

There are a few people that think I’ll want another guitar after I order my last one in February hopefully.  2 reasons I won’t though.  6 electric guitars & 1 acoustic is enough for a person in my situation, it’s a hobby.  Second reason, guitars cost money, we don’t have any to spend on new guitars.  I guess this would be a 3rd reason.  Quality over quantity.  Maybe I won’t own an arsenal of guitars, but they’ll be well made instruments!  I did my research & I know what to expect.  If everything goes right I’ll order my last guitar in February & buy the amplifier at that time while I save a little more for the guitar that will come a year later or I’ll see what the wait time is then.

Even my current guitars were gifts based on my knowledge at the time, other than my Fender Thinline Telecaster which was a gift out of the blue.  I only purchased my acoustic guitar.  Wasn’t much research on that guitar?  I walked into a music store & asked the people I knew there what acoustic I could get for $500 when I was 21.  They showed me a few, I played them & left with a guitar about 45 minutes later.

Let’s pretend that moneys not factoring into this scenario.  I’d get 7 different signature guitars.  Dave Grohl 335 Gibson (Foo Fighters).  Mark Tremonti & “Paul’s Guitar” (Alter Bridge & PRS).  Sell my Takamine acoustic for either a nice Taylor or Martin acoustic.  All of them are WAY too much to spend on 1 guitar!  Nice to dream, then there’s reality.

None of them will ever “…be mine”

In reality, a hard maybe on a more affordable Squier, Washburn, or knock off Les Paul still at least a decade or more down the road.  I’d likely have to sell an electric guitar & that’s not happening!  I’m REALLY excited about what I’m getting & what I have!  I can’t wait for my ordered guitar to get here!  Nothing other than what I’m getting has been researched other than the 2 PRS Core guitars, that are just WAY to expensive at $5300 or more Canadian.

S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow Body Guitar w/Gig Bag - McCarty Sunburst

Then order this guitar & buy the amplifier next year.

S2 McCarty 594 Electric Guitar with Gigbag - Whale Blue

I see people on www.youtube.com with 20-90 guitars, 40 amplifiers, & 100s of effect pedals, who typically have a profession of either teaching, repairing, making, or selling guitars for a living.  If money wasn’t a factor, I’d stop at 1 amplifier, 8ish pedals & 12 guitars because that’s a LOT of guitars to maintain or even just change strings on.  Money is a factor and I’m VERY happy with what I’m getting & I’m done spending money on guitars.  I’m done guitar shopping/researching for a LONG time.

We both REALLY hope to find a house next year more than anything!  Until we’re in our 60s or 70s, we’ll be looking for a house.  If there’s nothing out there by then, we might as well stay in a condo.

EVERYBODY is broke & at home right now.  Welcome to the rest of my life.  Your situation is temporary, mine’s not.  Don’t feel sorry for me, I’m adapting or have adapted.

Other than the new John Petrucci solo album, I’ve been listening to In Flames Clayman album since it’s the 20th anniversary of the album.  The last Big Wreck album is getting it’s fair share of listening as well.

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “The Sin & the Sentence”

I exercised to “Devin Townsend Project” the album “Epicloud”

Here’s the Canadian Red Cross website if you’d prefer to donate there for my birthday.  Donate whatever amount you like whenever you like please?  My birthday is on Thursday if you want a specific date.  I did extend the donation date on Facebook to mid-February though.

Today is Kim’s BIG day at work.  Her big photo shoot at work.  She’s been working REALLY hard at this.  She has put in a lot of overtime, especially in the last 2 weeks & she’s been editing practice photos at home on her laptop.  I couldn’t be more proud of her!  She’ll have a great day, she has definitely put the work in for this project which should lead to bigger things for her.  I hope this doesn’t lead to more work/overtime.  She’s been coming home completely exhausted.

I was bummed for too long about it!  It’s in the past & I can’t change it.  Time to “LIVE IN THE NOW”

I found myself looking at other 7 string guitars over the weekend, but none of them had all of the same things in one guitar.  In the end it was a fruitless endeavor.  Everything looks like the maker is trying too hard to make it look like a ‘metal’ guitar or the guitar would only have one aspect I was looking for.

I can’t complain, things are good!  I’ve gotten over my guitar blunder, now only time will mend the last little bit of my broken heart.  The one I ordered can’t get here soon enough, I’m more than a wee bit excited for its arrival in April!!!!!  Actually I’m FREAKIN’ EXCITED!!!!!

That PRS guitar goodness coming in a couple of months & in a couple of weeks I get to watch some Toronto Blue Jays spring training baseball.  Air conditioning, baseball, & CFL football.  That’s my trifecta of every summer.  The heat & I don’t get along.  If you want to find me in the summer, you’ll likely find me in the house, with the blinds closed, watching baseball, with the A/C on to 22 Celcius.  If Kim wasn’t cold at that temperature the A/C would be set at 20 Celcius.

Kim & I, my brother & sister-in-law (Mitch & Rachel), took my Grandparents out for lunch on Sunday.  We had a really good visit over lunch & coffee.  The restaurant wasn’t very busy yet, so it was a nice quiet spot to visit for a couple of hours.

I was getting a little tired from my exercise.  I completely crashed on the weekend, ended up sleeping most of the day on Friday after my exercise in the EARLY morning.  We were all set on Saturday to get some house chores done, and then the power went out for 3 hours shortly after we were all set to go.  I threw in the towel & crawled back into bed.  Ended up being a broken weekend for us.  Now after the weekend, I feel good & back on track again.  I’ll call it a little hiccup for now.

Just so we’re all clear here, there won’t be Facebook photos here all of the time.  I know that not everyone is fond of social media.  There might be a little burst in the next few weeks but I’ll let you know when a photo appears on Facebook.

In other news, I came across some guy who was totally against the new “Meatless Meatball Sub at Subway” fine with me.  He stated that it’s “made with chemicals that cause cancer” fair enough.  I had cancer in 2008 before the meatless craze.  What he failed to mention is that alcohol, tobacco, burnt food, etc. are all said to cause cancer & they’re all legal.  In the end is it not up to each person to decide what they put in their body?  I drink alcohol, I eat meatless stuff & real meat, drink dairy milk since my family have friends that run a dairy farm.  Eat what you want, stand up for whatever cause you like, maybe you’ll swing some people to your side?  Don’t be afraid to form your own opinion though.  I have opinions that others don’t agree with either.

You’re afraid of GMOs that’s fine with me, there’s science supporting both sides of that argument, more so for the use of GMOs.  You’re allowed to choose how you live your life as is anyone else.  Social media is eye opening in that way.  People can be set in a certain state of mind & that can be both good & bad.

I couldn’t care less, the meatless/beyond meat stuff is fine as is the other stuff.  For me, it’s about reasonable/healthy moderation.

“Haley Williams” of “Paramore” is releasing a solo album, the first single is stuck in my head constantly & it’s FANTASTIC!

Here is a taste of the last “Paramore” album if you forgot.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer? Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 1,500 crunches, 900 leg lifts, 200 squats, 00 back flexes, 0 pushups, 800 curls, 00 tricep lifts, 200 shoulder raises. Stretching & even more YOGA.

I fell asleep to “Nothing but Thieves” the album “Broken Machine”

I exercised to “The Darkness” the album “Last of our Kind”

More yoga this week than ever, gets my triceps really good that why I didn’t do any with my weights. I do weights, yoga, & other intense stretches every Tuesday & Thursday. Yes, I fall, I still have no physical balance. I use a chair, table, or wall to balance myself when doing certain yoga poses. So far when I fall I’m just strong enough to fall with a bit of grace & haven’t seriously hurt myself. My back was bugging me Monday, I rested it, put some ice on it & did my squats on Wednesday & Today.
Wake up, have breakfast, exercise, shower, eat lunch, check my computer Monday & one of the guitars I chose is “no longer available”? It wasn’t even the “Limited Edition” guitar? The 7 string Epiphone remains, the PRS I originally chose was a 2018 and more than $1000 less. I do not own a 7 string guitar or a PRS guitar, which sound very nice. Gotta pick one & hope it will happen. Yes, I book marked them so I can stare at them & call them both “My precious”!
It’s been decided 1 PRS next year. Same guitar as featured below, different year, better price! I hope there’s a 7 string around in 10 years, heck, I hope I’m still alive & relatively healthy in 10 years! Now, to start saving! Is this a mid-life crisis purchase? I hope I live to be 80 or more! If I make it to 80 or not this is my mid-life crisis purchase. I can’t drive, so it’s a very nice guitar! This is a LARGE purchase for me, a onetime deal for sure!

Kim gave me the OK for a reasonable PRS next year, so here’s hoping! Gotta start saving my pennies now! Thanks to Tim Roth at Long & McQuade for helping me in my search for the guitar I wanted!
I used to be able to play all the way through Foo Fighters’ 1997 album “The Colour and The Shape” on guitar, most of the 3rd album, all of the acoustic double album, & other songs in the mix, before cancer.

This one is available now & I’ll start saving for it ASAP. I’ll have to special order it in a burnt amber burst colour. This is a mid-life crisis purchase for me!

This was in the running but lost out, maybe someday, if they’re still around…& if I win the lottery…..I guess I should consider playing the lottery? Less expensive also. Go big or go home, once! Matt Heafy is the singer for “Trivium” metal music is fast & difficult for me on guitar, I’ll get there eventually for now 6 strings are enough to work with. It is the same guitar he plays in this video & on tour.

My priorities are Kim, Brewster, our family & friends, etc. Kim has different priorities, I guess?
Kim’s dental bill is payed off thanks to her father for helping out, she waited a long time for that (almost 24 years). She used her birthday money towards Brewster’s Vet bill. I thought I’d use my money for other things in the future, save it for a rainy day. She insisted that I use it towards a guitar! For me this is not only a mid-life crisis purchase & a nice work dealing with the cancer situation so far. It’s also a part of getting my old life back while improving it.
Kim works at a job she likes for decent pay. I exercise daily & try to recover while living on disability checks & Canadian pension plan checks that when added together don’t amount to anything above the poverty line. We tend to live in & out of debt. This is why luxuries are usually out of the question.
My Saskatchewan Roughrider season ticket is already paid for this year, so I’ll be at the game Saturday afternoon, & the home playoff game, which is paid along with the season tickets the previous December. That right there is $1000 a year + food & beverage. $6 for a watered down pop is as equally atrocious as a $9 generic beer. I refuse to spend $9 for a beer I can buy a 12 pack for $18 at the liquor store. I rarely drink beer other than a new flavour of craft beer. I usually have a pop & some popcorn or just chew gum to keep my mouth moist at the game, my pills give me dry mouth. I can pause the game here on TV and save on the cost of food & beverage.
A plus is to be able to just watch the game. Now it’s ‘Come for all of this extra stuff, & there’s a football game too’ I’m not a kid anymore, lights & games don’t do the trick anymore. More than I want & prices went up for the new stadium a few years ago, they’re not coming down.
I never watch live TV, EVER! “Oh, the game started? Thanks Kim, I’ll start it in ½ an hour”. Everything we watch is recorded. We’ll watch it when we have time. We’re busier than usual “around here”. No commercials that way.

My priority is to get better, sooner than later! Other than that, I shouldn’t NEED anything, it’s just stuff I WANT. Big difference between NEED & WANT! This guitar purchase will be a slap on the back as if to say “Hey, you’re doing alright. You gotta keep going, there’s a long road ahead still”. One day I’d like to find an online part time mundane job to do 4 hours a day/5 days a week, so I have time to exercise still.
Well whether this is settled or not. Please buy my house & I’ll love you long time…unless you’re not into that, then the safe word is sauerkraut & we can just cuddle in our PJs, eat popcorn, & watch movies. You’re the boss though, this is just a suggestion, nothing more.

I think this would have more to do with the style of music a person listens to. Biasedly though, I didn’t even know other bands had logos.

If you don’t believe in climate change, maybe this will sway you?

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total; 600 leg lifts, 600 crunches, 200 squats, 200 back flexes, 120 pushups, 600 curls (10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm), 600 tricep extensions w/5 pound weight, 400 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Lamb of God” the album “Ashes of the Wake”

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “…but the sun”, followed by some of “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Villains”

I had to cut back the back flexes to 300 over a 5 day week, easily the toughest part of my exercise.  I’ve also brought the number of squats down, quality over quantity.  I’m expecting to be at a minimum of 300 in a 5 day week.  Everything else will stay as it is, another sweaty week but feeling good & confident.

So as I was finishing my exercise on Tuesday doing the downward dog yoga pose, I fell getting back to the ground I rammed my face into the ground, off of the mat & on the laminate floor.  Sure it hurt for a bit, I checked my nose & teeth.  My nose wasn’t bleeding & my teeth were all there & not chipped, I was fine, sweaty but fine.

Now that I’m stronger & more confident, I want to do more.  My mind races at night thinking of small things I can do to help around here & elsewhere.  Kim’s been taking are of the house me & Brewster for over 12 years.  I want to step up & do my part here so she doesn’t become overwhelmed.  She comes home from work 5 days a week & makes a REALLY FANTASTIC meal & I clean up after supper.             Other than that, I fold & put away my laundry, vacuum on occasion & sometimes wet Swiffer the floor.  I feel now as though I can do more since I’m here all week.

I can’t afford the moon or anything extravagant.  I can help in smaller ways now.  I’m starting with my grandparents.  They don’t drink water.  So I’ve filled 2X1liter bottle of water flavoured with Mio flavouring so that it tastes more like a juice than plain water.  Something little I can do to help out.  I get excited about stuff like this.  It’s nice to look forward to something other than exercise every day.

I’m getting stronger now, I can tell!  I’m still in a wheelchair, iPatch still, & no driving since Tuesday, February 5th, 2008.  Just physically stronger.  Not only am I able to help out around the house more, but now my mid-life crisis present to myself is back but, if it happens it will likely be a 2/3 life crisis at least.  It was a car & now it’s a PRS guitar.

A bunch of cool stuff none of which I have & it’s pretty!  Mid-life crisis?  13/16 life crisis or pipe dream!

Well forget that!  Brewster went to the vet after Kim was done work Wednesday & the news wasn’t great!  His heart murmur is between a 5 & 6.  6 is the worst, which means a strong possibility of heart enlargement, heart attack &/or fluid in his lungs.  Now I’m EXTREMELY worried.  Tests & definitely medication, just a matter of how much medication?

Kim is home sick today, she’ll likely be spending the day in bed today.  I got up a bit after 6:00 am, got to my exercises while Kim showered & tried to go to work.  She showered and did her hair but never made it out of the bedroom.  I don’t like contract work much.  She’s not there, she doesn’t get paid.  Oh well, not my job & not really my business.

I didn’t even know about this movie on Netflix?  I’ll have to watch it sometime soon!  Here’s the trailer & a review.

New TOOL article/interview as of September 1st!  Long but GREAT album!  Worth the 13 year wait.

Every TOOL fan has seen this lately, I saw it late last week.  Very well done mashup of Taylor Swift & an older TOOL song!

BIG THANKS to Mitch & George Fraser for getting my VERY old electric guitar gear working!!!!!!!  Another thing to look forward to everyday!

I’ve often thought about listening to “Gojira” since I do like “Sepultura”, but something stops me from being a fan every time?

Nobody should like “System of a Down”.  Many of my friends & I think they’re GREAT!   Maybe because there’s nothing that sounds like their music, at least in North America or that I know of?  Here’s a story about their second album out of a total of 5 mass releases.  They’re quite popular.

I don’t think any rock/metal/other band is about to change mainstream music.  It will be a force of many bands & artists to make a significant change.   I couldn’t care less about album sales, as long as I get to hear what I like!

Under rated albums of the 1990s.

More progressive rock/metal but they tend to go quiet & mellow to the heavier side of things throughout a song.  I haven’t done an “Opeth” music guide yet, but they would be “Opeth” lite followed by “Tool” who would be “Earthside” lite.  All 3 of these bands are progressive & they are all capable of doing light atmospheric music on their albums as well as rock & metal, much like “Dream Theater” as well.

When I say “progressive” in reference to these current metal/rock bands, I mean that the songs are often in rare time signatures.  Not always a song you can tap your foot to.  Most radio friendly songs are in a basic 4/4 time.  There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s simple & to the point.  That gets boring for me after a while & other bands will change time signatures 2-6 times in one song.  Then that can become boring & I’ll go back to the 4/4 stuff.  I always listen to the drums in a song.  It’s the rhythm that I listen to the most in a song.

I have one album by “Earthside” so here’s a sampling of it.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

3 day exercise total; 400 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 300 squats, 200 back flexes, 250 curls 10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm, 150 tricep lifts w/5 pound weight, 100 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Tool” the album “Aenima”

I exercised to “Lamb of God” the album “Sturm Und Drang”

My weekend started yesterday.  Full plate for Kim & I today.  Monday the house was out of order for me to exercise.  So no exercise on Monday either.  As for next week, I have no idea what’s happening after Saturday, lots of moving parts up in the air. So HAPPY August long weekend, I’ll catch you Sunday or Monday & then maybe Friday or Sunday?

I feel like I’ve been slacking off this week with only 3 days of exercise.  That being said, exercise shouldn’t be all that a person should focus on & it’s been a busy week, as I expected.

Kim painted our suite & the house is very close to looking normal again.  Just waiting for the paint to dry completely for her to put the 3M hooks back up to hold photos & such.

I’m seriously thinking of doing my exercise in the morning as usual, taking a break & doing more of the same stuff in the afternoon.  Likely 50-100 more of each exercise that day?  That won’t happen for a couple of weeks but it has been rattling around in the ol’ noggin.

TONS of people say that I do a lot of exercise, true, if that’s how you want to look at it.  Lately it feels like I’ve hit a plateau & I seem to have a little more gas in the tank?  I guess I’ll see what I feel like after the next week?  I might rest for a bit & do more after an hour or two?  I’m pretty lazy so, we’ll see?

It’s summer & a break is needed.  With the long weekend coming seems like a good time to be a couch potato for a bit.  After the weekend I might continue to be a lump or get back to exercising?

This type of thing happens at rock/metal shows, this is how I broke my nose in 1999.  I wasn’t in a wild mosh pit.  People were very respectful & cleared a path for me to security & first aid when they saw my nose bleeding.  I was holding up a crowd surfer when another one was tossed in my direction & landed on my face.  It was really fast, no one to blame at all, accident!

The first person to see anything happen or get out of control will tell the individual with the microphone about the situation & that person typically stops the show until things calm down.  The crowd is there to have fun, not to hurt anyone!

Music can & does help!

New “Tool” album titled “Fear Inoculum” out August 30th.  Tool’s entire catalogue is available for streaming & other digital platforms as of Friday, August 2nd.

It’s only taken 13 years for them to release a new album.  I believe this may be the final album on their contract?  If not this album, it is definitely the other one in 13 more years.

As reported!

You know what this “Tool” news means?  Big Wreck & Tool released on the same day!  WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep holding out Mr. Bach, the 80s died for a reason.  See if you can join “Steel Panther” they missed the memo too.  LIVE IN THE NOW!

38 years ago yesterday “Iron Maiden” brought metal to MTV.

Sad that this took so long, on the upside more people to drive me around town!

Saskatchewan Roughrider home game Thursday night!  Sadly, I’m positive that next season will be my last.  If Regina wasn’t hosting the Grey Cup next year, this would be my last year for sure.  I’ve been going to the games since my Grandfather could hold me on his lap.  I went to one game in my last ½ year during therapy for my cancer, so I missed out on those games.  It’s become a financial burden for a luxury.  One income gets spread out thinly.  We could use the extra cash for other/more important things.

I enjoy going to the games, I can watch them here, not pay $9 for a beer (which I don’t).  I can buy 4 tall cans of tastier/imported beer for the price of 2 generic beer at the game.  With this being the 3rd or 4th season at the new stadium, everything sky rocketed in price.  Food, beverages, & tickets.  Can’t afford it, it’s time to “LIVE IN THE NOW”!  Well, the Riders won, VERY entertaining game.  It finished with a score of 24W-19L final scoring play was a touchdown for the Riders with 2 minutes or less in the game.

As much as I’ll miss the atmosphere & intensity in the stadium, saving the price of season tickets alone will be better for us.  I go to the games with my parents now.  I think this is the last season for my mother?  Dad & I are going next year & calling it quits after next season.

You know him & you’ve likely already made your decision on him.  Either way, this is my take on his latest album.  I will say that I’ve been a BIG fan of his last 3 albums.  This one didn’t seem to fit with the others though.  I like it & applaud musicians for taking a risk & going outside of their safe space.  Unfortunately this album was not to my personal liking.

This album featured numerous guest artist on almost every song.  Most of the guests were rappers, I’m not a fan of rap despite the fact that Sheeran himself sings & raps on a fair amount of his songs.

There were only 2 stand out songs for me on “No. 6 Collaborations Project”.  1 included Justin Bieber while the other included Bruno Mars & Chris Stapleton.

2 songs on a 15 song album doesn’t make it a good purchase by me.  Why did I buy it?  I preordered it because I’m an Ed Sheeran fan.  I still am, unless he proves me wrong with his next album.

How did the Toronto Blue Jays make out at the trade deadline?  EPIC FAIL!!  If it’s possible to give a -0%, that’s how I’d describe it.  Reporters, broadcaster, analyst, & the other 29 teams in the league all chimed in & were left shocked & speechless regarding what they traded away for so minimal in return.

5 pitchers & 1 REALLY good infielder, gone!  What did they get in return?  Prospects in the minor league system aka nothing that will make an impact for another 3-4 years, that’s how long they just made the current rebuild.  It’s Wednesday as I write this.  Who’s the starting pitcher for Thursday?  I knew before but they just traded him in a 3 player package for a minor league OF prospect who’s projected to be a bench player at some point, since he’s failed 3 times already in the major league.

I’ll paraphrase what one analyst said on air.  ‘I’m looking for a silver lining in these trades.  I can’t find one?  Anybody else on the panel have one?’  Nothing but dead air.

2 top of the 5 man starting pitching rotation were traded.  With guys brought up from the minor league system to help with injuries & fill roster spots, the Jays have have 4 starters with minimal MLB experience.  Toronto just became “Who?” ville.  Well, as a player it’s their job, as a fan, I just watch for entertainment.  In the end it’s not really a big deal for me as a fan.

Then they played last night while I was at the football game & won 11-2.  What do I know?

I fell asleep to “In Flames” the 2000 release “Clayman”

Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

I couldn’t really exercise this week.  More stretching along with 300 calf raises & 300 leg lifts for the week.  Sets of 20 until I reach 60 for the day.  Yet to hear from the physio therapist.  Each passing day seems like a step backwards, & this started mid-November so I’m WAY behind!

Well I guess this is the day, the inauguration day of a terrorist.  I may live in Canada but I’m not very comfortable with Trump as the President to our direct south!  So buddy up it may be a situation of safety in numbers?  I think there were some protesters there yesterday?

I had to do some stuff in the kitchen today.  Just feeling odd emotionally, I needed to hear some “Rage Against the Machine” if you would like to hear it, it’s here but full of LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suitable title for what may come.

WOW, there’s a specific genres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know any of the bands on the list?  I think “In Flames” are considered a Swedish melodic death metal group?

Mark Tremonti talks about “Alter Bridge”

This version of the song is a Grammy nominated song

Now the hits just keep on coming & I feel older with each one.

My dad took me to a taping of “Switchback” when I was a wee little lad!  Here in Regina.

I’ve had a TON of time to listen to my music!

LANGUAGE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just find the actual video sexist!

Korn did something to help prevent suicide & anti-bullying organizations!  Buy a T-Shirt & help out!

Sunday, February 5th 2017 I’ll be doing something other than watching the “Super Bowl”.  Me no likes!  Maybe the half time show?  I don’t know who’s playing at half time.

You know whatever Alex Jones says is “fake news”

It’s a bitter sweet day for North Americans, more so for America likely.  On the downside the Obama’s are leaving the White House.  On the upside it’s Friday.  Those don’t really balance out……………………………at ALL for me!

I’ve heard nothing but bad news for the future of the DC comic book movies, which is sad.  I really liked Batman v. Superman & Suicide Squad.  Apparently Ben Affleck is ready to leave the movie franchise.

Trump, Trump, & more Trump

I completely agree with Billy Joe Armstrong’s comments inside this link.

In other words, pick a TV channel & there’s a 95% chance the inauguration will be on it.

Stephen Colbert!

Wayne’s World returning to theaters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Big Wreck tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or the Blue Jays could package OF Marvin Upton Junior, 1B Justin Smoak & a prospect into a trade with another team for one of their 5 needs.  I hope the “Rogers” company can back that financially.  That trade is over $9,000,000 + a prospect/ “a box of chocolates”

Exercises are taking longer as I add more repetitions to a few.  Pushups & squats.

Mondays don’t bother me in the least, I know they’re coming!  I know Thursdays are coming too, but Thursdays are, for me, a type of limbo?  It’s not hump day or Friday, it’s Delaware.

I woke up late, I’ll see how much info I can put in this post.  I have the same problem with this blog again, in that it won’t transfer to Facebook properly as for emails, I’m not sure?

My idea for the Blue Jays!

I like ‎Troy Tulowitzki‬ but he’ll be 32 this year where as Ryan Goins‬ will be 29 on Saturday. Anyone in the Toronto Blue Jays organization ever consider trading ‎Tulowitzki‬ for a back up catcher and prospects? Sportsnet‬. Could save some cash for Bautista & ‎Encarnacion‬? Please have someone ask Mark Shapiro &/or Ross Atkins? Having Ryan Goins on the bench would be a waste of his talent, this could free up $17,000,000, & rebuild the farm system if there’s a trade to be made? Bob McCowen has echoed this a few times on air, great! Now could someone ask new G.M. Ross Atkins or new President Mark Shapiro this? Who doesn’t want 2 young athletes playing the 2 very difficult positions in baseball? Goins isn’t known for his offensive power but any offense from a short stop or 2B is an added bonus!

I fell asleep to “Odds” the album “Good Weird Feeling”

I exercised to “Queen’s Greatest Hits” then 6 “Corrosion of Conformity” albums on shuffle.

Thank you “Wayne’s World”!

“Alter Bridge” were averaging music for a song each day last I heard, no lyrics yet though.

I played these on guitar hero, on medium difficulty. Easy, medium, hard, & expert. I lived in medium, tried hard a few times.

I guess “Trivium” has a song on the new guitar hero game

Another on PC but not on the Playstation 2 I had

Photo of Mike Shinoda doing vocals for “Linkin Park” in the studio!!

I’ve never heard of “Black Wizard”? I’m getting older & I admit I’m getting set in my ways as far as music goes. Full album in sound cloud inside the link.
