Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

Friday night we stayed in, babysat for our friends who were off to see “Blue Rodeo”.  Hannah slept over aka I hit the couch & she takes my spot with “Auntie” Kim on the king size bed.  The leftover chicken fingers are a pretty good deal though.  “Uncle” Chris doesn’t mind!

As for the rest of Saturday not much happened.  Kim & I on the couch we rented the movie “War Dogs” based on a true story, a rated R story.  Lots of cocaine, weapons, swearing, & illegal smuggling.  Good/interesting movie but not for kids.

Today is shaping up to be a lazy day on the couch again.

When my Grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer on December 5th 1999, I was in my 3rd semester of Engineering at the U of R.  I was really lost at the time, totally missed a final on purpose.  I would drive 40 minutes away to Moose Jaw & blast their 3rd album, There is Nothing Left to Lose, which was released that November, all the way & back.

After her memorial the rest of my aunts, uncles, & cousins came to my parent’s house.  I didn’t know how to react.  I went to my room in the basement, put on headphones & blasted “I Mother Earth” the album “Blue Green Orange”.  That was the first big loss to me.  I was a mess at the time.

I guess all of this means that I mourn a death, tragedy by listening to music & other people deal with things their own way.  Whatever helps you in a rough situation & doesn’t bother anyone else.

As for Friday’s “Depression” post, well it can be any type of mental illness.  Talk to someone about it.  I can think of 8 or 9 people including myself that struggle with a mental illness.  Don’t be afraid or feel that no one will understand.  Don’t be afraid of taking whatever type of medication a doctor says you should try.  There are millions of people that will listen to you.  Please remember you’re not alone and you will likely need help from others, don’t feel embarrassed about asking for help.

10 best live acts in hard rock or metal.

I’m gonna go with the acts I’ve seen.  The other’s I haven’t seen or have no desire to see.

I saw Queen a couple of years ago with Adam Lambert singing for them.  I’ve never seen “Iron Maiden” live but I hope to change that one day.

Help Alter Bridge create the set list for an upcoming show if you’re going to see them?

I’d throw this into every set on the tour.

Weekend music; Judah & the Lion, Boston, Diemonds, The Damned Things, Metallica, & Megadeth.

^^ This what they played on Conan.  WAY better live on TV.  On the album it’s my least favourite song.

Dave Grohl turned 48 years old on Saturday!

Katy Perry produced a commercial against hate!  I’m not a fan of her music, but this commercial is very well done!

Foo Fighters’ radio interview.

Live footage of Metallica.

10 things Rolling Stone magazine learned in 2014 about Dave Grohl.

66 hard rock or metal guitarists of all time.  They couldn’t at least round it up to 70, 100, or down to 50?  66 seems like an odd number number to stop at?????

Who I think is the most under rated guy on the list is…………..John Frusiante.  Sounds like it is easy, I couldn’t play it!

Why did this become a music blog?  “Because music is a BIG @#!$%^*&( DEAL”-Dave Grohl

I was thinking to myself the other day. I must have been “The Best of What’s Around” for a third baseman when I played baseball. If you’re a back catcher, 2nd baseman, short stop or center fielder, hitting is a bonus, defense is usually the priority at those positions. If you’re plying any spot other then the ones mentioned or pitcher, you had better be able to hit. I couldn’t hit at all. Every game though I’d show up & look at the lineup for the game & 99% of the time it was Chris Fraser batting 9th, playing 3B.

I don’t know how good I was, but I wasn’t ever afraid of the ball. If the ball was hit in my direction, I’d attack it, like I was taught to. As long as it didn’t get passed me I was satisfied! I don’t remember ever diving for a ball, I did throw to 1B on the run though.

Knowing who was at bat always helped, more so knowing their batting tendencies & where the ball would be hit. I remember the lead off hitter for the Moose Jaw team would almost always hit a ground ball to me. Usually it was a guaranteed out. Bounce 2 or 3 times, smother the ball & toss him out at first base, roughly 127′ away.

I know exactly why people get bored watching baseball. It’s a physical reaction every pitch to the chess game going on in a players head. Everybody on defense has somewhere to be no matter where the ball is hit. When a hitter comes to the plate, you should be thinking of 8-10 different possibilities, and they change with each pitch.

The hitter & runner are thinking through different scenarios as well with each pitch. When I sit down to watch a ball game, I think along with the players. That’s why I watch as much Blue Jays baseball as possible!

Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day singer, compares Donald J. Trump to Hitler

Remember the Jonbenét Ramsey case from 20 years ago? It’s coming to CBS this fall.

Can’t say I’m much of a fan of ‘Faith No More’. I know 1 song that most people my age know.

REALLY? Trump had advisors the entire time? He still said whatever came to mind?

If Donald Trump wins the election, here comes WWIII. Then I’ll say “It’s been a good ride world! Here comes Armageddon”!

I fell asleep to “Tool” the album “Lateralus”

^^You’ll be very lucky if you hear this live. Rumor is the singer, Maynard James Keenan, blew his voice when recording this song & missed 3 weeks because of it?

I exercised to “Anthrax” 15 albums on shuffle.

This is for anyone & everyone who might find this interesting! Please help me out if you don’t mind? I’ve been sharing this publically on my page, I don’t think it’s helping? Please do what you can to spread the word?

Sorry, Netflix got me again. This time it was a David Cross stand up special. He echoed many of my statements on gun control in the USA. He filmed the special in Texas. That’s a fairly brave move in my books! He asked a question that has struck me many times. “How many innocent lives will it take before someone will do something about these mass shootings”? I thought for a bit & came up with an answer, different from his punchline.

It doesn’t have to take anymore innocent lives. You want something to change………………do it yourself. Don’t sit around & wait for someone else to do it? Easier said than done I know. I don’t vote for any Canadian elections. So call me what you will? If you’re American, vote, talk to your Mayor, Governor or even write to whoever becomes the next President. Isn’t part of the “American dream” being able to be free & able to make a difference? If so, stand up & be heard. Start that motion for change, be a leader not a follower, be aggressive, don’t be happy with the way things are. If you want a change, make it happen!

Why do I workout so much? Because I want a change of me! Nobody else can do it, just me. It’s not an easy change, people hate change or are scared of it. Change can be good. I hate new technology. Eventually I’ll have to get over that! Remember, you don’t have to start out with a HUGE change. Make a small change if you like, then make another small change & after a while it will look like a big change. I didn’t wake up one day & say “I’m going to do 1500 crunches today!” I built up to that total, starting at 20 crunches. Not much will change over night, just start chipping away at the mountain.

As a society we’re currently back tracking when we need to evolve! Not just me, but all of us!
