Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 600 leg lifts, 450 crunches, 450 squats, 300 back flexes, 500 curls 10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm, 300 tricep lifts w/5 pound weight, 200 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Big Wreck” the album “The Pleasure and The Greed”, followed by “Stone Temple Pilots” the album “Purple”

I exercised to “The Struts” the album “Everybody Wants” with this single attached to it.

I did some extra stretching this morning I wasn’t feeling very “…quick & nimble…”

Today I got up & had breakfast.  Most of the ginger in my morning vegetable juice must’ve fallen to the bottom.  I started coughing because of how spicy it was & up came most of the juice I had.  Brewster was absolutely COVERED in burs from riding out to the cabin with me & my parents on Tuesday.  We tried to get them out, but it was too painful for him.  He got his trim today at 7:30 am he was home by 9:00 am.  Ears are a bit shorter because of the 40 burs in his right ear, but now he can get comfortable.

I spent the rest of Wednesday glued to the TV watching the Robert Mueller testimony.  Mostly stuff most people have assumed or that has already been reported on.  Without looking, it was VERY easy to tell if a republican or democrat was asking the question.

President Trump may have done a few things to benefit America, they have been over shadowed by his lack of morals, ethics, & respect for others & the choices & actions he has made with the lack of those 3 things.

The guy was here Monday installing a new valve into our A/C.  I was feeling pretty confident it would be fixed this time.  He was here on Tuesday, he lubricated the old valve on Tuesday & it was working as it should be.  New valve on Wednesday & a few other little things, now all is well!

I let things like that consume me usually & get extremely frustrated to the point I become enraged & blow up in a temper tantrum.  I didn’t this time.

Me getting angry at someone won’t speed up the process to resolving the problem.  It will make me & the other individual (maybe) feel small & insignificant.

I can’t fix the problem, leave it to those who know more about it than me.  What I did find amusing was 8 hours a day for 6 days fixing my iTunes.  I called the Apple support line to see if they knew what to do.  I worked with them for an hour or so, trying different suggestions they gave me & nothing worked.  The last person I spoke to told me to try something & leave it be for a while & she’d call back 4 hours later since it could take a while.  After 2 hours, I go into check on things to see if it’s helping at all, it wasn’t.  I looked around for 15 minutes & figured out what to do & how to fix my issue!

She called back to see if her suggestion helped, I replied “Not really, but I figured it out” she asked what I did to fix it.  I told her (the 3rd & final person I spoke with from Apple) & went about my day.  I helped the help desk!  Who would have thought!

If everything is going to involve a computer from now on, are we all expected to know how to fix these problems or is technology expected to be perfect.  If that’s the expectation WOW we have a long way to go.  I don’t want & can’t afford to pay $200 to a company to fix something that takes 3 clicks of a mouse.

A multi-day music festival is not something I would have or will ever consider going to, mostly because of the large crowd.  One day like the festivals in Canada touring the provinces in the 1990s such as Edgefest & Summersault we’re perfect for me.  Summer time, outside, water readily available, hose to keep the crowd cool, only 10,000-20,000 people in the crowd, noon until midnight, 2 stages, big name acts, smaller un-known acts on the 2nd stage, no camping, washrooms in the adjacent venue to the field & on the field, multiple vendors, etc.  I have the “Woodstock ‘99” CD, not great though.  I can’t say what the experience was like since I wasn’t there.

When the lead guitar player of “Alter Bridge” approves of the cover two guys did, you pay attention!  This is FANTASTIC!!!

YAY 2 new “Alter Bridge” songs now!

Opeth preorder for September 27th full release

I have one of their albums which I very rarely listen to.  There’s nothing wrong with it, just don’t listen to it as much as I thought I would?  They’re based in Oklahoma & there are 4 members in this group.  I’m not sure if they’re even together anymore.  More of a pop group that’s not quite rock music.  At least that’s how I see them?

I was trying to find the album with this song (below) on it.  I came up empty back in the day.

I fell asleep to “Harry Connick Jr.” the album of cover songs “Your Songs”

I exercised to “Corrosion of Conformity” the album “In the Arms of God”

Thank goodness it’s Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekly exercise total; 0 pushups (finger is still tender), 500 crunches, 1000 leg lifts, 600 tricep pushups, 500 squats, 200 back flexes.

This bruised finger sucks.  Until it stops hurting I’m going to play it safe.  Well, at least it’s not my right/dominant hand.  When I exercise, I go all out.  Not doing my pushups takes less time & it’s disappointing to me.  I’m going to have to build up to 240 a day.  No, I don’t know why, but I don’t look like somebody that does all of this exercise.

Yes I’ve lost quite a bit of weight, but that was never the reason I started exercising like a mad man.  The entire reason for all of this exercise was to be able to “Walk”.  At first I thought I’d be able to walk very soon, by 2015 maybe.  That didn’t happen!  Oh well, maybe one day?

We’re looking at getting a lighter wheelchair for me & pay for it with my disability tax return.  Right now my chair weighs 41 pounds.  The wheelchair we’re looking at weighs 14 pounds, much easier for Kim to lift into our vehicle.

“Will I ever walk?  Yo I don’t know?  Turn off the lights & I’ll glow….”

At least he picked a great bass line to rip off.  Long live “Queen”!  And the other Queen!

When I was in high school I was not part of the “Cool Kids” I had 2 groups I would hang out with, & both involved Timothy Wong.  One group of 4 guys which we called “The Nothings” we weren’t all musicians, jocks, or anything in particular & one group of Tim, myself & 2 girls.  One I’ve known longer than my brother!  I did hang out with 3 or 4 guys on the football team during lunch.  I think it was ’97 or ’98 I started hanging out with Laurie, really good friend like Timothy.  Laurie is a year younger than me.  When I was in University, it was quite common for her to come home after high school & find me reading a text book in her parents’ living room.

I found high school to be more individual clique.  Small groups of 4-8 people.  That being said I also graduated with over around 260 people or so.

If it’s animated, I’ll likely buy the movie to watch it at home multiple times.  They’re not all great, so I’ve either rented it or saw it in the theater.  2 of my 4 or 5 favourite movies are not animated.  I’m not going to bore you with every single trailer from the movies I like, so here’s just a few.  Just because I’m 38 years old doesn’t mean I have to just watch dramas, documentaries, thrillers, & horror movies?

This entire series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of these movies!

Many, many, more…………………………..

A protest song by Bad Religion.  I think there will be many protest songs while Trump is President.

So this study says metal can be harmful, yet a previous study I saw years ago states that metal calms listeners.  So which one’s true?

Live is back with the original lineup & an AWESOME song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weird Al’s top 10 rock parodies.

The Toronto Blue Jays’ management is in a tough spot that I don’t envy.  I see a lot of backlash coming from fans of the team after the July 31st trade deadline.  The fans, for the most part, aren’t dumb.  The stadium isn’t sold out nightly like it was in 2016.  C.E.O. & G.M., Mark Shapiro & Ross Atkins, are walking a fine line at the moment.  Fill the seats & build a team to win without blowing the team up.

Truth be told I’d rather have had them ‘Blow up’ the roster when they joined the organization after the 2015 season.  Who can they trade that’s not injured at the moment?  Starting pitcher, Marcus Stroman, gets back into action on Saturday & J.A. Happ is getting old.  They’re not making the playoffs this year, every fan knows that.  Everybody is trade worthy, but I don’t see much in return?  Other than starting pitcher J.A. Happ, who is consistently good there is very little value in any other players, even Marcus Stroman?  Even if he flops on Saturday, there is only Happ to trade & get anything in return.  You could trade Smoak 1B, Pillar CF, Biagini RP, Barnes RP, I think you’d get very little in return for them.  The Jays could potentially have $31,000,000 or $51,000,000 sitting on the bench next year due to 3 players under preforming with HUGE contracts through 2020.

I think they should do what the Toronto Maple Leafs did.  “Hey, were going to suck for a couple of years, until our minor league players get really good”.  At least they’d be honest, since the fans pretty much know it.

Major League Baseball wants to speed up the pace of play since EVERYONE is so focused on their cell phone that they can’t turn it off & focus on something else for 10 minutes let alone 3 hours.  “Oh no!  I’ll die if I don’t have my cell phone!”  Surprise, I loathe cell phones!  “Hey talk to me!  I’m right here in even better resolution!”

I have 2 ideas one might not work for them.

Take away instant replay in the dugout.  Give the field manager 2 challenges, without viewing the replay in the dugout.  They have to call for a replay by the umpires within 10 seconds of the play in question.

This one might not work?  If a player hits a homerun, the umpire ahead of the player should signal the homerun.  Once the signal has been given, offensive base runner(s) should stop & return to the dugout.

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you!

I fell asleep to “A Perfect Circle” the album “Eat the Elephant”

Had breakfast while listening to “Barenaked Ladies” the album “Grinning Streak”

Need a day to rest my body & wake up, so I can do my exercises tomorrow!  I feel like I have to catch up to everyone.  A day without exercise is a wasted day to me & I started out 4.5 years behind everyone.

Sunday I was fall over sitting down tired, Monday was more of the same, so no exercising Monday.  Since “Sunday morning” I’ve felt over tired, I exercised Tuesday but not “today.”

The week started off with multiple phone calls with doctors & labs setting appointments.  YAY…………….BOOOO.  I’ve got better things to do than go to all of these routine cancer survivor checkups.  I know I’m fine.  I’ll go to multiple doctors & they’ll tell me the exact same thing.  “Everything looks good on the scan.  See you in a year.”  Who doesn’t work & has to be somewhere at 7:30 am?

I’d much prefer blood work & a scan in one appointment & send it all to one doctor.  Nope multiple appointments since Monday until next week & another routine doctor appointment in the summer.

I know these are important but good grief “will it ever stop?”  I had cancer in 2008 & I’m still being poked & tested?

Wait in a waiting room for roughly an hour Monday evening to give 2 vials of blood for your doctor appointment next week.

SO NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about we spend one day going for a scan & giving blood?  Then another day for the doctor appointments regarding the scan & blood work? One doctor will tell me his thoughts on the blood work & the other one will do the same, call me fat & send me on my way.  Am I in a good mood?  Not really!

I guess it’s only 3 weeks of the year.  I just don’t want to do this anymore.  I survived cancer, leave me alone for a bit please.  I’ve been tired since Sunday.  My exercises on Tuesday was pretty much a zombie going very slowly through the motions.

Kim has to take time off of work & if she’s not there she doesn’t get paid.  Sure no problem, let’s make this a month long extravaganza!

I’m grateful to be alive, just frustrated at the moment!  Also deathly tired, no exercise today.  TV & the couch are calling me.  I likely won’t be online much at all today.  Probably have a nap today, my body feels like a rag doll.

Since they’ve recently released their 4th studio album, this seems like a good time to review this band.  This is the singer’s, Maynard James Keenan, 2nd of 3 groups.  He’s also the singer for “Tool” & “Puscifer”.  “Tool” is his first successful group.  The story goes that “A Perfect Circle’s” guitarist & music writer.  Was a guitar tech for “Tool” aka a roadie.  Maynard overheard some of the music on Billy Howerdel’s computer.  Maynard liked it & asked if he could sing on it.  As soon as they released their first album most people instantly compared them to “Tool”.  Fair enough, the first album was fairly comparable to a “Tool” album, but “Tool” seems to be able to fit in many mainstream genres in their own way.  “A Perfect Circle’s” first album was their hard rock album with breaks of light ambient music to ease off the gas pedal & let fans breathe for a second, much like “Tool”.  The 2nd album had a few heavy songs amongst more accessible songs.  The 3rd album was full of mostly unrecognizable covers.  The music & melody were all completely different but the lyrics were the same.

After the cover album they released a ‘Greatest Hits’ album with one new song on it.

I wasn’t much of a fan of the cover album or this new song.  I have the album of covers on CD, but not the ‘Greatest Hits’ album in any form.

That brings us to their new album “Eat the Elephant”.  Some longtime fans of the group that I’ve spoken with are somewhat disappointed with this album.  I was also, at first it’s not nearly as heavy as most of their previous songs or albums.  After it’s release on April 20th & multiple listens to the album, I can’t stop listening to it.  Much like their 2nd album & the first single from it, I was somewhat disappointed at first.  If you’ve ever been a fan of “A Perfect Circle” don’t give up on this album.  I don’t know what it was but something made me go back to it multiple times.

Here’s a song from each release.

MER DE NOMS      2000

EAT THE ELEPHANT        2018

This is easily the most mainstream song I have ever heard from them.

Movies to watch for in 2018 from “Avengers: Infinity War” on….

I’m sorry but even for a comic book movie this is hard to swallow.  I’m supposed to believe that Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, a tree, & a raccoon are needed to save the world.  “Avengers: Infinity War” had better be the best movie ever made!

“Ant Man & The Wasp” trailer & short article.

Weird/early baseball game today?

I was looking at “Suicide Squad” to purchase.  I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the movie.  I look on iTunes & it’s rated terribly, Amazon reviews are very positive 4/5 stars.  Batman vs. Superman was rated terribly also, after seeing it in the theater, I bought it ASAP on iTunes & I’ve likely watched the “Ultimate Edition” 6 or 7 times.  Remember, I had 2 weeks without a computer.  I watched movies & read a lot.

I guess I do reviews in a way, “Check it out” or “Stay away” from this thing.  I guess that’s my take on whatever the subject is.  So I encourage you to check out whatever you like either on this blog or from a friend.  I’m not always right about what you may or may not like.  Batman vs. Superman is hands down the best comic book movie I’ve seen.  That includes “300” & “300 Rise of an Empire” or at least as good, but that’s just my take on it.

Oh, happy day!  Yesterday immediately after I posted the blog, I checked iTunes.  Highly Suspect finally had the preorder for their new (2nd) album, “The Boy Who Died Wolf”  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Flames shared it….

Heard some of the outro music from the new Big Wreck album on Facebook.  Sounding REALLY good, looking forward to it.  Nice follow up to this album………….

I tend to preorder most albums on iTunes.  I like this new Metallica song, but there is NO possibility of me preordering this.  Instrumental only.

I was 4 years old when this was released.  I’ve heard nothing but praise for this franchise.  I haven’t seen it & I really don’t care to.

I fell asleep to “Walk off the Earth” the album “Sing it all Away” woke up in the middle because I’m either getting old, turning into a woman or my bladder shrunk. Went to bed & listened to “The Traveling Wilburys” their only album Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, & Bob Dylan!

I exercised to “Crash Test Dummies” the album “God Shuffled His Feet”

I think “Crash Test Dummies” were at The Exchange in the last few years? I didn’t go, I didn’t even know they were still around. I only have their first 3 CDs.

Kim has been sanding some wooden boards we have as shelves. Our place is covered in dust. She got them from a relative I believe, but they warped, they’re solid pine shelves about 8′ long. Messy place here at the moment. I think it might be what is making me cough up phlegm every morning & today was the same with a dash of a sore throat added.

Yes, this is on both Facebook or old school email for subscription!

www.amilionmilesawayblog.com for email

Missed it by that much. Right decade for me, just the wrong music! I wanted the “grunge” of the ’90s to come back, not this.

Yeah, that sounds completely different than Queen…………..NOT!

Here’s to their earlier success……………….I hope!

Kongos preorder is April 15th

This has nothing to do with “Disturbed”! If you’re a parent you should know better than to use your phone in a public setting featuring any type of show. Do you need to post anything at that time? Do you use your phone once the light dims in a movie theater? Put your phone away for a few hours & enjoy whatever entertainment you have paid for. Was it a life or death situation she was dealing with? NO! Put your phone away! You wont die & the pictures will still be there after the show. It’s called etiquette……………..take a refresher course!!!!!

If you missed James Corden’s prime time carpool karaoke special, here’s a portion of it. This was a new carpool karaoke segment! He’s the guy that took over Craig Ferguson’s show & changed it radically. I find it to be much better, but that’s just me.

A PILE of photos of “Chevelle” hard at work in the studio recording their next album

“Walk off the Earth” shared it…….

They were here earlier this week or opening for “Mariana’s Trench” who I’ve never heard a song by, but I’ve heard the name in passing. Apparently the majority of concert goers said it should have been “Mariana’s Trench” opening for “Walk off the Earth”. If that had been the case, I would have seen if Kim & I could go to that after seeing “The Watchmen” on Friday

Yay, Mark Tremonti’s going on tour……………………in Europe………………….again. Once he’s done recording the new “Alter Bridge” album by the end of April. I think he & Myles Kennedy need a break? Myles is the singer for both “Slash” & “Alter Bridge” he’s also doing a solo album since 2012 in his little window of spare time. Mark Tremonti is doing his solo project as well as “Alter Bridge”

Some very cool dough art as a tribute to “Soundgarden’s” album “Badmotorfinger”

“Guns n’ Roses” were destined for greatest at the creation of “Appetite for Destruction” released in 1987.

Rolling Stone’s 100 greatest drummers of all time

It’s subjective. Meg White (White Stripes) made the list but not Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)???? Heck, before cancer I could & have played drums to a White Stripes song.

I listened to Dream Theater on my iPod at work this album, Systematic Chaos then a double album of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s greatest hits. That was roughly 7 hours of my day at work. 1 ear bud in & noise canceling headphones on, then an hour of noise canceling headphones & nothing else.

Little kids covering “Glorious Sons”, shared by Glorious Sons….

OK, Guns n’ Roses fans it’s coming & it could be tomorrow or on April 8th…………………..

“Royal Blood” shared it! I was just as excited to see them live as I was Foo Fighters last summer in Calgary. That’s saying a lot, they were both really good!

I don’t think Trump ever thinks before he speaks? He has no filter!

I’m not into politics at all. I can’t wait for the USA campaign to be over………………in November. Canadians can’t vote but what’s on every day at least once a day on every channel? The Presidential campaign. If they haven’t decided by now, what are they waiting for? A light to shine on who to vote for by God?

I’ve got to cut this short today. The stronger I get, the more chores I can tend to!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Paramore” all 4 albums on shuffle! These are 1 song from each album. These are the popular songs that you might have heard? Paramore isn’t extremely popular, I didn’t want to leave anyone in the dark.

I know I’ve had the meat sweats before but Thursday evening was terribly uncomfortable. Kim wanted to stay in & not really do anything for her birthday. So we watched TV & ordered from Boston Pizza. I had the bacon double cheese burger & started sweating profusely half way through the burger. I eat healthy usually but on special occasions or if we go out (which is rare) I make it count. I don’t think a diet is logical. Eat healthy, binge on occasion, & just keep in mind what you eat without going overboard, & exercise for 15-90 minutes a day. At least that’s what I do! Could be wrong but I’m not giving up any food long term. I’ll eat a burger again, just not in the near future.

If the Blue Jays win tonight with David Price starting, Saturday evening/game 7 should be less stressful with Marcus Stroman pitching. David Price is likely among the top 3 pitchers in the game, but he hasn’t had much success in the playoffs. Marcus Stroman may be young (24 or 25) but he is the best pitcher the Blue Jays have at the moment, that’s why I think tonight will be more stressful than Saturday. If they lose tonight, at least it’s been a fun ride for Blue Jay fans & the bandwagon jumpers!

“Head of the Herd” was the opener on tour with Finger Eleven. They were tight as far as a decent band goes, just not my thing. There’s 3 albums on iTunes. Most recent was released in September.

25 years ago Thursday “Pearl Jam” took to the stage for the first time.

“Back to the Future II” on Jimmy Kimmel

Bjork is still around? Can she sell 2000 copies of this rarity? I believe this was as close as she got to the main stream?

I was thinking a LOT about suicide when I was in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center. NOT ANYMORE!! I’ve realized how selfish it could be & how it would affect everyone else. At the time I was thinking I didn’t have anything to offer to the world, & I was only thinking of myself. I’m here & I have no plans on leaving anytime soon. I was in a bad place mentally at the time, for myself & everybody else in my life. Now I’m on anti-depressants & anti-psychotics, to this day. 2 videos inside the link!

Sorry, this was the “Depeche Mode” song “Finger Eleven” covered on their 2nd album “The Greyest of Blue Skies”

I remember leaving work at the Staples Call Center to sing a few songs at The Exchange for my brother who was basically in a week long “Rock Band Camp” at Long & McQuade. He wanted me to sing 2 Finger Eleven songs. Family & friends come first for me if I can help do anything!

“Finger Eleven” is or was my brother’s go to band, which rubbed off on me a bit. My band is “Foo Fighters” that rubbed off on him a bit. The first band we were both really into & still are is “I Mother Earth”. We of course got into them on the ’96 album “Scenery & Fish” at first, in the kitchen doing the dishes blasting the CD as our Mother would yell at us from the living room “TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!!!!” You win mom. Wait she’s bopping her head to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” now is what I hear from Dad?

How do I know “Rush” isn’t on tour at the moment? Geddy Lee was interviewed earlier this week in his season ticket seat during the playoffs for the Blue Jays!

We played with a band from Ontario a few times that were touring across Canada, each time they would play a show with our band “Chemical Horizon”. I think we played 3 shows with them? When I was diagnosed with cancer they were either passing through town on tour or going home to Ontario. I know they had plans to tour across Europe. Don’t know if they made it there? We all liked them, heck their 2 albums are on my iPod. They never got signed by a label & eventually broke up. Really nice guys, that made really good music! “Flatlined”, if they didn’t get signed I knew we wouldn’t. I looked at it as just a hobby anyways, I had no intention of signing to a label. If it happened, GREAT! If it didn’t, that was fine too.

This is the only song/video they have on good ol’ www.youtube.com

Too Funny. Hahahahaha! Every hit song in 4 chords. It’s all over facebook. LANGUAGE!!!

Stone Sour drummer with drum camera. At first I felt compelled to rap the “Ninja Rap”, then the beat changed!

There are two Big Wrecks. First incarnation of Big Wreck were 4 guys that dropped out of the Berkley School of Music to form Big Wreck. Ian Thornley was the only Canadian at the time. They released the first 2 albums between their debut in ’97-their breakup in 2002 with their second album “The Pleasure & The Greed” released in 2001.

Then came the age of “Thornley” for a decade, a rather unstable line up that released 2 albums in 10 years. The first album was fun to play along with!

“Thornley” was an all Canadian group.

Then Big Wreck came back with different members. All Canadian other than the return of the original 2nd guitar player who’s American. In 2012 they released the album “Albatross” then “Ghosts” in 2014

The only constant thing throughout all of this has been the singer/song writer/lead guitarist Ian Fletcher Thornley, who has a solo album being released on Friday, October 30th. More of an acoustic sound along with other soothing instruments.

Songs I like, “Sugar Ray” had to skip a few. I only have one album. They were big in the ’90s. Honestly, I haven’t listen to this since I was in University, in the fall semester of ’98 & the year of ’99.
