Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “Foo Fighters”, “Radiohead”, “Testament”, “Tool”, & “Opeth”

Friday evening we caught up on some TV from the week.  We seem to be quite busy these days & not watch nearly as much TV as we used to.  With Kim being at work & me being busy at home and moving a bit slower than I’d like in a wheelchair, we watch Ellen Degeneres, another show, & one of us will watch something the doesn’t want to.  I do watch a recorded Late Show with Stephen Colbert the next day while Kim’s at work.

My tummy was a bit off Friday night, so I didn’t sleep great.  Hello couch Saturday morning & all is well!  I slept for about 2 or 3 hours on the couch after finally getting out of bed at about 6 am, slept from 8:40 am until 11:50 am or so & was ready to go.  All we had on was our “niece’s” 6th birthday party at 5 pm.

“Auntie Kim, what’s in the present?”  Nice try but Auntie Kim’s smarter than a 6 year old.  I got cuddles from our 1 ½ year old “nephew” as soon as he saw me.  Kim was only a little “jealous”.

I’m sure our “niece” had a long day.  Presents, cake, kids birthday party followed by family friends birthday party, hide & seek, & what looked like mechanical bull riding on a small bouncy toy cow.  Sort of looked like this sheep….

Always good times with the kids!

Today is a get ready for a, hopefully, busy week ahead.  My eggs & vegetable juice are done.  Now to get hyped up to cram as much exercise & guitar in.  Watch the last Blue Jays game of the year, clear off as much of the DVR as possible & get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

If you like vinyl, here’s a “Nirvana” reissue!

The making of Alter Bridges’ new album “Walk the Sky” out October 18th

YAY!!  It’s official & done Spider-man is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Off the record with Alter Bridge!

Sure, rock & metal music are starting to come back.  Both genres aren’t popular enough for the stage of the Super Bowl Half-Time Show…..yet.  I’m not sure Dee Snider of 80s band “Twisted Sister” is the guy to call out the NFL at this point?

All the best to him, he’s been down this road before & it has worked out for him in the past!

New “Jimmy Eat World” album out called “Surviving” on October 18th.

This is actually “Lamb of God”.  Their first album was released under the name “Burn the Priest”, I’ve never been a fan of that album.  They did release a cover album last year under the name “Burn the Priest”.  This is an album of cover songs that cross the punk/metal influences they have…

Today’s the final day of the regular season for baseball.  Which means I’m done with the Blue Jays for the year.  There was no hope of them making the playoffs months ago.

162 games per team in a season.  With game left today, the Jays are right where I predicted they’d be 66W-95L.  I figured at the start of the year they’d finish with 65-75 wins this year.  In 2020 or more likely 2021 I figure they’ll be a contender.  Other teams are already calling them a dangerous team.  They’re the 2nd youngest team in baseball for average age of players.  They get a few decent pitchers in the offseason & keep the young guys together, they’ll be fine.  The kids are alright.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

I fell asleep to “Simon & Garfunkel” the 3rd disc of a 3 disc boxset I own, I really just wanted to relax!

Don’t feel as though you must open every link.

As much as I’d like to be known as a friend, cousin, son, nephew, grandson, etc.  I’ll be called all of those things ending with “…who had cancer”.  It makes sense though.  I am all of those things “…who had cancer”.  I’m Kim’s only husband, as far as I know.  I’m also Mitch’s only sibling, as far as I know!  I have multiple friends & cousins & my parents have 2 kids.  For friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, my parents or grandparents, “…who had cancer” is probably the easiest way to tell others who I am.  It doesn’t define who I am but it pinpoints who they’re talking about.  In that sense I get it & I’m fine with that.

I’m getting a photo/day of a Stone Sour member in the studio.  I know they’re done recording it, time for a preorder or a release date already.

Rock stars in drag.  If it was the ‘80s, it doesn’t count.  Dee Snider of ‘Twisted Sister’ does not count.  That was regular show attire for him.

Who can afford to go to Ed Sheeran in Saskatoon?  $117 for Kim & the same for me, & I bring my own chair????????????????  We’re out???????????????????  $234 plus gas & food??  Nope, I’ve seen him once with terrible sound!

I used to be a heavy drinker, now 4 drinks over the weekend is about maximum for me.  I’m older & don’t go out to establishments to drink.  If I do go out, it’s more so to purchase beer to put in the fridge.  I also don’t have a license.  I’m prevented from driving since I only really have one eye to work with.  Going out ends up costing more than necessary as well.  The new drinking & driving laws don’t really affect me much & my wife rarely drinks.

For me, it’s never really been about getting drunk, & less so as I get older.  Getting drunk in your 20s with your friends is one thing but I have more important things to do as I get older.

The only reason for me to get drunk is when we’re babysitting for our friends, so I can be “drunk uncle”

Article with guitarist, Mark Tremonti, of Alter Bridge.  I’ve heard you need a 7 string guitar to play anything from the newest release.

Teens react to Linkin Park.

Some fans of music don’t want to hear the same thing regurgitated by the same band…how does that old saying go?  “Variety is the spice of life”, that’s how I look at it anyways.  I know not everyone looks at it that way.  I’m a Linkin Park fan.  I’m not a fanatic, but I’m a fan of their studio stuff, I haven’t listened to their live stuff much though.

“Faint” from their 2nd album released in 2003

Stay safe out there,

I fell asleep to “Oasis” the album “Definitely Maybe” woke up to pee at 4:00 am, crawled back into bed & listened to “Oasis” the album “Be Here Now”

Emptied the dishwasher & made breakfast to “Candlebox” the album “Disappearing in Airports” then put on “Coldplay” the album “A Head Full of Dreams”

I exercised to “Trivium” all albums on shuffle other than “The Crusade”, just the instrumental song “The Crusade”.

They’ve got 6 other full length studio albums I like & own. 4 actual CDs & 2 from iTunes. I own the CD “The Crusade” but I’m not a fan of that album.

This is for anyone & everyone who might find this interesting! Please help me out if you don’t mind? I’ve been sharing this publically on my page, I don’t think it’s helping? Please do what you can to spread the word?

I was close to getting through my regular daily exercise. I should get there by Thursday or Friday?

Our dog, Brewster, is hilarious! All 12 ½ pounds of him make me laugh out loud anytime I see him doing something odd! Late last week or maybe on the weekend I could tell he was dreaming. We were in bed, Brewster sleeps with us, I had my noise canceling ear buds in yet I could hear him? He was asleep but he was barking at almost full volume for a minute. Usually it’s 10-20 seconds of quiet barking. Whatever he was dreaming about he wanted it bad! He didn’t even wake up when I was busting my gut out loud.

The next day he was sleeping in his dog bed, barking. Just his normal dream bark, but I laughed. I always think he’s dreaming about squirrels. “I’m gonna get you squirrel” at least that’s what I like to think when flopped out on his side barking & twitching his legs!

I love it when he tries to “fix” his bed. All curled up in a circle in his dog bed, then you hear & see him barking & twitching all 4 legs to get it as perfect as he can. For the first time yesterday I saw him pushing his bed with his head across the living room. I chuckled out loud again! He’s my main source of entertainment!

AWESOME! Another Canadian band going on tour & skipping right passed Saskatchewan & Manitoba! Sad! A typical Canadian tour is Montreal, Toronto, & Vancouver (some times Calgary & Edmonton). I’ll go to Calgary or Edmonton if it’s someone I really want to see, the other locations are a 2 day drive. Montreal is even further. Will I be seeing this tour? No! If they were coming to Regina I would. Saskatoon is 2.5 hours away but I’ve made that drive too many times since 1996 to see I Mother Earth. It’s a really long/boring drive. It certainly doesn’t feel like 2.5 hours, more like 8 hours!

GMOs from a farmer’s mouth. BOOM DROP THE MIC! There has been thousands of scientific studies, & farmers, most of them I assume use GMO seeds. As for taste, that’s pretty subjective. I like seafood, Kim doesn’t. I don’t like potatoes, Kim does.

Do what you want. I’m trusting science & a farmer, not Neil Young or a healthy 14 year old. The last www.youtube.com link is long if you like skip to 1 hour & 36 minutes for the results of the debate if you like. If you’re growing your own food are you sure the seeds aren’t already modified? I’ve heard, I’m not positive on this, that none GMO seeds aren’t easily available to the general public? Like I said this is what I will do. You don’t have to do the same. Do what you feel is best for you.

Opeth has another studio report. Dream Theater songs are long, but Opeth’s songs can be even longer! You really do have to set aside a free hour to listen to an Opeth album & it’s not tap your feet music!

Pretty quiet weekend here. Kim came home after work on Friday, & felt a cold coming on. Woke up Saturday to be ready to see some friends & their 2 kids from out of town. Kim got the cold & didn’t feel up to a visit. She didn’t want to pass on her sinus cold & sore throat to the kids. Kim’s a bit more chipper today & is out getting a few groceries. I watched Blue Jays baseball, Friday night as well as Saturday & Sunday afternoon. Blue Jays were in Boston for 3 games.

I worry too much about money. If I’m going to make a purchase, I always ask Kim if we can afford it. She has never said no. On the very odd occasion she’ll ask if I can wait a week or a month at most. Sure, I’m fine with that.

I fell asleep to “In Flames” the album “Siren Charms” first I listen to most of an 18 song “Greatest Hits” by “INXS”

I woke up early & listened to “The Northern Pikes” the album “Snow in June”

I exercised to ”Our Lady Peace” 9 albums on shuffle, 8 of them are on CD!

No, not baseball, but I do try to watch as many Blue Jays games as possible. Not much of football either. NHL is what this short paragraph will be about.

If I want to watch a fight, as a Canadian I can watch boxing, UFC, MMA, or NHL. If I want to watch hockey, I’m lucky if there’s a European game on whatever network. I’ve been to 1 NHL exhibition/preseason game. When did people cheer the loudest? When a fight would occur. Sure they cheered for a goal, all 3 or 4 of them. The crowd made it very apparent that they came to see two guys, on ice, try to beat the snot out of each other. Nobody seemed to care about the score, that’s why I don’t watch this thing called “hockey”. A broken bone will heal, the score of a hockey game will never change. This suspension of a mere 20 games was upheld by the NHL Wednesday afternoon. I still say “Goodbye…………………FOREVER!!!! You cross checked an official you moron!”

NFL vs. CFL, apples & oranges. CFL “Longer, Wider, Faster” I had a T-Shirt back in the day that said that about the CFL. Playing field in the CFL 110 yards long by 65 yards wide, end zones are 20 yards deep. NFL playing field is 100 yards long by 53.5 yards wide, end zone are 10 yards. An NFL game is scheduled for a minimum of 4 hours, a CFL game is scheduled for 3 hours. Both leagues can use the same ball. CFL footballs are normally larger around. 3 downs in Canada, not 4 like the NFL. CFL goal posts are at the end zone line, NFL goal posts are even with the back of the end zone.

I’ve never gotten into NFL though many Canadians are. The CFL has become rather boring, could be because the home town Saskatchewan Roughriders have been terrible the last 2 seasons.

Cancer wise, nothing new. Right now my body is trying to be more of a normal/healthy body. Kind of like going through a different type of puberty? The first puberty was great, let’s do something like that again!………………..NOT! That or I’m just getting old?

I couldn’t even name a song by “Kesha”. I have seen her interviewed a few times on “Conan”, but that’s it.

Awesome, I liked the 5 song EP “Stone Temple Pilots” released with “Chester Bennington” of “Linkin Park”

I’d enter this contest, but I’m really turned off by the “singer” for “Children of Bodom” who are opening as the 2nd of 3 bands in total. I like these 2 songs but that’s it.

Sing or do death metal growls? Don’t do both at the same time, it’s not all that & a bag of chips. Figure it out & “call me maybe”

It took a while yesterday in the late afternoon. I did get the “Sonic Highways” HBO series which I had bought for $20 while it was on HBO, the special features in the studios & extended interviews finally showed up. For a while yesterday I thought it might be a Cash Grab! In Canada or at least Regina, HBO is an extra $20 a month for 3 channels on your cable package. We had it for 4 weeks to watch 4 episodes of the series. I found it on iTunes for $20. I figured it’s cheaper to just buy it rather than spending $40 to just watch it & have it disappear.

Somebody wants some of the spotlight? Van Halen is one of those bands that should probably just tour now?
