I fell asleep to “Simon & Garfunkel” the 3rd disc of a 3 disc boxset I own, I really just wanted to relax!

Don’t feel as though you must open every link.

As much as I’d like to be known as a friend, cousin, son, nephew, grandson, etc.  I’ll be called all of those things ending with “…who had cancer”.  It makes sense though.  I am all of those things “…who had cancer”.  I’m Kim’s only husband, as far as I know.  I’m also Mitch’s only sibling, as far as I know!  I have multiple friends & cousins & my parents have 2 kids.  For friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, my parents or grandparents, “…who had cancer” is probably the easiest way to tell others who I am.  It doesn’t define who I am but it pinpoints who they’re talking about.  In that sense I get it & I’m fine with that.

I’m getting a photo/day of a Stone Sour member in the studio.  I know they’re done recording it, time for a preorder or a release date already.

Rock stars in drag.  If it was the ‘80s, it doesn’t count.  Dee Snider of ‘Twisted Sister’ does not count.  That was regular show attire for him.

Who can afford to go to Ed Sheeran in Saskatoon?  $117 for Kim & the same for me, & I bring my own chair????????????????  We’re out???????????????????  $234 plus gas & food??  Nope, I’ve seen him once with terrible sound!

I used to be a heavy drinker, now 4 drinks over the weekend is about maximum for me.  I’m older & don’t go out to establishments to drink.  If I do go out, it’s more so to purchase beer to put in the fridge.  I also don’t have a license.  I’m prevented from driving since I only really have one eye to work with.  Going out ends up costing more than necessary as well.  The new drinking & driving laws don’t really affect me much & my wife rarely drinks.

For me, it’s never really been about getting drunk, & less so as I get older.  Getting drunk in your 20s with your friends is one thing but I have more important things to do as I get older.

The only reason for me to get drunk is when we’re babysitting for our friends, so I can be “drunk uncle”

Article with guitarist, Mark Tremonti, of Alter Bridge.  I’ve heard you need a 7 string guitar to play anything from the newest release.

Teens react to Linkin Park.

Some fans of music don’t want to hear the same thing regurgitated by the same band…how does that old saying go?  “Variety is the spice of life”, that’s how I look at it anyways.  I know not everyone looks at it that way.  I’m a Linkin Park fan.  I’m not a fanatic, but I’m a fan of their studio stuff, I haven’t listened to their live stuff much though.

“Faint” from their 2nd album released in 2003

“Heavy” to be released later this year

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

I’ll warn you, Facebook is quite slow this week.

I fell asleep to “Soundgarden” the album “Badmotorfinger”

Don’t feel as though you must open every link.

I have what’s called an ‘acquired brain injury’.  I don’t know of anyone else that has had my specific type of brain cancer.  It’s more common in children than young adults, that’s not cool.  I was in a program with other people who’ve had brain injuries.  We’d all get together to play games.  I didn’t get to go very often, Brewster is high maintenance & has anxiety attacks when left alone.  I’m sure there were people in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center that have experienced or future patients that will.  Sure it changes a lot of things, you just have to make adjustments yourself!  Do you have a child?  If you do, I can almost guarantee your life is different now than it was before having a child?  Life changed instantly & now it makes things slightly challenging or just different.  Nobody necessarily likes change & I totally get that.  I have a lot of help if I need it, there’s even a program at the WRC called the ABI program to help me anytime down the road if needed.  In the end, this being alive stuff sure beats the alternative!

My sciatic nerve is better, but there is still a tiny bit of pain there.  It’s still the best it’s felt since November.  I saw my massage therapist last week.  She said it was much better even before my massage.  After my massage she told me to see my chiropractor, she said I had a few ribs out of place.  I can’t feel anything out of whack in my ribs, just my lower back & a bit down my right leg.

Barenaked Ladies shared it.  Maybe they should take some time off instead of releasing an album of previous material with another group?

So I could go to Moose Jaw to see the “Offspring” a 40-45 minute drive to see a band that I’m a very, very casual fan of.  This was the first song my first band learned to play (I was but a singer at the time).

Or I could make the mind-numbing 2 & ½ hour drive to Saskatoon to see Ed Sheeran, who I really like.

I like Ed Sheeran, but I loathe the drive to Saskatoon & I’ve seen Ed Sheeran in Regina once.  Do I go to Saskatoon or hold out for ‘In Flames’ to come from Sweden to Saskatoon.

I can definitely say I don’t need to see The Offspring.  I’ve seen In Flames once or twice & wasn’t disappointed.  The sound for Ed Sheeran in Regina was dreadful & everybody watched 75% of the show through a cell phone.  Kim would prefer Ed Sheeran, so we’ll see how much tickets are?  In Flames have yet to announce any North American dates.

This show could be WAY over our budget?

Why does U2 need to reissue one of their biggest albums for $24.99 on iTunes with a bunch of older songs added to it?  ‘The Joshua Tree’ was roughly $25 in the ‘80s when it came out on CD.  Thanks, I bought it decades ago & it sounds fine.  32 extra songs from different albums that older U2 fans already own?  I don’t know how many people are newer U2 fans that would purchase this?  I’m a big U2 fan, but this just screams “CASH GRAB” to me.

I guess U2 was my absolute favourite band until I Mother Earth released “Scenery & Fish” in 1996.  Then Canada began their post-grunge movement.  Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good Band, The Tea Party, The Age of Electric, Limblifter, Moist, The Inbreds, Finger Eleven, Treble Charger, Econoline Crush, etc.  I guess you could put Big Wreck in here as well. Their 1st release was in 1997.

Let me set the scene for you, this happened quite often.  It’s 1996, my brother & I are doing dishes after supper.  Our parents have retired to the living room.  My brother & I are addicted to I Mother Earth’s “Scenery & Fish” album.  After a few minutes of the album playing in the kitchen our mother yells at us “TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!”  We turn it down, but not enough?  She yells again “TURN IT DOWN NOW!”  We turn it down more, now we can’t hear it.  So we turn it up.  This struggle goes on until the dishes are done about an hour later.

OK, does anyone gain anything in this scenario?  Do the verbal abusers gain anything?  This is just one example, in the end it’s just people hurting other people for being different.  WHY?

I guess “The Black Keys” are taking a break.

This group just drives me nuts for some reason, but so does Guns n’ Roses, couldn’t tell you why?

Whether you like them or not you had to know they’d get an award for sales at some point.  I just assume many people own everything Nickelback & lie to others saying “No not Nickelback, I hate them!”  Wait 4 minutes & the radio will change.  I don’t like them, but they’ve done nothing to harm me in any way.

There’s 0, no point in getting angry at anyone for anything unless it directly effects me, my family or friends. Nobody responds well to anger. I knew that over a decade ago, but forgot it somewhere along the way. I could give you a million excuses as to why I was a ranting & raving moron coming out of cancer, but I could never give you a valid reason.

I worked in a call center doing customer service email & phone calls. I was told that if someone calls in to complain, either let them get their frustration out, or even better, hang up & forget about it as soon as it starts. I would always let them scream in my ear then offer to do what I could for them.

When I came out of my rehabilitation program, I was the lunatic screaming at everyone & anyone. That’s never the way to approach things, as my parents taught me growing up! It wont solve anything whether you tell someone or not. All it will do is hurt someone as well as yourself.

One Christmas when I was 20 or 21 I bought my brother a CD at Future Shop. He had opened the store packaging, the shrink wrap. Then realized he had it already. A few days later we went to Future Shop together, I was already working at the call center for Staples. We went right to the customer service desk. I didn’t get angry. We talked to the girl at the desk, after a bit I asked to speak with the manager, since I knew she couldn’t help us out. She assumed we had burnt a copy & returned the CD, we didn’t. I told her manager the same story I had told her & said we’d gladly exchange it for another CD. In the end it all worked out fine. Nobody was angry or shouting, all was well!

I don’t need to get angry at anyone for most things, there’s enough anger & hatred in this world as it is, I don’t need to fan the flames/stir the pot! So for the last time, I’M SORRY, I CAN’T CHANGE THE PAST IF I COULD I WOULD. THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THE BIGGER PERSON!!!!! ANYONE HAVE A DELOREAN & A FLUX CAPACITOR? I NEED TO TIME TRAVEL.

What have I recently learned? Don’t be afraid of your own death & don’t wish for it either. Everyone around you will worry more than enough about your death. You can spend time worrying about the death of others or helping them out in a rough patch. Whatever happens to YOU will likely be for a reason that probably wont make sense at the time!

My goodness! I think just wrote a page for a novel? Back to our regular scheduled program…….

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Eagles of Death Metal”, no they aren’t death metal, they’re The “EAGLES of Death Metal”

I guess “Lamb of God” have also canceled the rest of their European tour.

^^A bunch of normal guys from Virginia who make enough to get by. They aren’t rich or famous. They live in the suburbs in bungalows. Due to the music industry being not so good for recorded music since they’ve started out, they aren’t rich & famous like the 1980s hair metal bands were/are!

Greedy, greedy athletes $5.200.000 not enough for P.K. Subban, Subban counters with $8.500.000 too much for Montreal Canadians. Hello arbitration

What was he supposed to by July 31st @ 4pm eastern time, the trade deadline? He already has a team of “All-Stars” and the 8th highest payroll in baseball, at $128.409.000+ . I think it’s time the players EARN their pay, this is just stupid.

I know what I’ll be watching October, 17th!

Another Top 200 songs installment
