Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Sonic Highways”

I exercised to “Halestorm” the album “Vicious”

Monday was a BIG no!  No exercise, my body needed a break.  Tuesday was the day to start doing things the right way.  Saturday & Monday I did eat my regular healthy breakfast.  Monday was healthy eating all the way through, Sunday wasn’t.  We found a new hard ice cream place, which we visited Saturday & Sunday.  Not healthy in the least, but worth every spoonful.  “Dandy’s” on a service road just off of South Albert Street.  Kim wanted ice cream again last night after we looked at a few Toyotas (I don’t know where she’s finding this money)?  I think we’re going again tomorrow?

So we stopped at “Dandy’s” for ice cream after 2 minutes I broke after saying I didn’t need anything.  “She said” to me “We’re here & you’re not going to have any ice cream?”  Then about a minute & a half I said “OK twist my rubber arm”

While I was getting my massage on the weekend, the therapist asked me about my exercises.  So I told her about them & she suggested using weights instead of putting so much pressure on my wrists.  I called Kim on Monday to see if she had time to pick up some dumbbells on her way home.

Tuesdays & Thursdays are now weight exercises, lil’ yoga, & LOTS of stretching.  Yeah, all of that still takes me a little more than an hour.  I leave the weights on the floor by the couch, & I’ll randomly do more on my weaker arm, the left arm.

Not your body.  So why do they need this law?  Is this how they do things in “Game of Thrones”?

I want to see this movie, almost as much as I wanted to see “Bohemian Rhapsody” which didn’t disappoint one bit!

My iPod classic (160 giga bytes) still works & still has a bit of digital room on it.  This seems to be even better than the iPod classic though!  I’d be into this when my iPod dies!  Anything that makes it a cell phone will not be activated though!

Big Wreck is really pushing their 2nd single from their new album.  Maybe a preorder date on Friday????  Please, please, please, please……

Yes the Tony Iommi, the guitar player of “Black Sabbath”.  He did a solo album with a different singer on each song, some guests played an instrument for the song they appeared on for vocals.  Apple should get their act together since this album is a long ways away from already being out of print & not on iTunes or Apple Music.  I own the CD since I bought it when it was released.  This is 1 of the 8 CDs I own that are nowhere to be found now.  “Oh, but streaming & downloading sites have everything!”  In a perfect world they should, but streaming &/or downloading sites don’t have everything, neither do I, just the stuff I bought at the time.

Anyways, here are a few tracks from this FANTASTIC album.  Yes I bought it because Dave Grohl sang & played drums on a song!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 200 pushups, 600 leg lifts, 450 crunches, 100 tricep lifts, 450  squats, 300 back flexes.  Yoga & stretching for just over an hour on Thursday.

I fell asleep to “Iommi” the album “Iommi”

I exercised to “Daron Malakian & the Scars on Broadway” the album “Dictator”

I look at this cancer garbage two ways.  I could sit here, do nothing & complain about having to fix myself or just do my exercises & shut up about it.  I choose the latter.  I can complain about very few other things.  Not the little things I blow out of proportion.  I’m pretty sure I just need to calm down & not try to change anyone.  I could offer a suggestion if they asked.  Other than that I should just email or message people on Facebook to see how they’re doing & reply politely to any question.

I need to stop telling people what to do, & let them live their own life as they choose to.  As I always say “The more I shut my yap & listen, the more I’ll know.”  On the other side of that, don’t ignore people either.  I have just over 300 Facebook friends, yet I talk to mostly the people I see most often through email.  I’m not saying they’re not great people, I’m just saying I don’t reach out to them as much as I should.

Is Tool’s guitarist teasing us with a new song?  Possibly, I’m guessing?

Too funny to not share!  For the majority.

Why?  Doesn’t the church believe in not using any type of medically proven anti-biotics?

Tool has joined streaming sites.  I don’t know if their older stuff is on there, but they have a profile on streaming sites, at least Spotify.  I’m not sure about other streaming sites?

Well this isn’t pleasant news for anyone, especially Star Wars fans!

53 is a very young age to die.

Hozier covered Destiny’s Child?

Saw “Avengers: Endgame” last night with my brother.  I’ve always leaned towards the DC comic movies with a dark tone, but I do like both.  It was AWESOME!  Lots of action, really good dialogue including humor.

My brother-in-law turned me on to this group.  He heard a single on Much Music’s show “LOUD”, a metal video show that was hanging on by a thread as Much Music began airing more teen television programing.  The singer/guitar player & group founder is about my brother’s age, in his early 30s.  They’ve released 8 studio albums, they’re a very talented band but not every album is a Jem.

In order of release “Ember to Inferno”, “Ascendancy”, “The Crusade”, “Shogun”, “In Waves”, “Vengeance Falls”, “Silence in the Snow”, & “The Sin & the Sentence”.  I’ll give you 2 songs from each of my 4 favourite albums.

2011   IN WAVES

You probably don’t care for metal & that’s OK.  I’ve been trying to avoid it on here, but that’s what I listen to most of the time when Kim’s not here.  As for “Trivium” you may not like them but between singing & playing guitar, Matt Heafy makes the impossible look easy, much like James Hetfield of “Metallica”.

Don’t feel as though you need to open every link.

Yep, I had my 2nd physiotherapy session in 3 weeks last night.  He basically gave me a few more stretches to add to the ones he gave me the first time.  Nothing too strenuous.  I was actually doing more of some of the older ones, & totally forgot about 2 older ones.  I moved the papers he gave me so I’d remember them!  They helped quite a bit this morning.  My sciatic nerve pain is slowly going away!

When I go to almost any treatment, even in the hospital, I try/tried to keep things up beat.  Kim takes the brunt of it.  Needles don’t bother me one bit.  When I have a blood test before a cat-scan & whoever is taking my blood, pulls out the needle, I ask Kim “Would you just hold me please?”  Doesn’t work at all, but the 3 of us are always laughing.

When I was in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center, I think there was a small opening on my chest by my collarbone?  There was a black goo coming out of it.  Kim got one of my nurses to check it out.  It was dead/rotten blood.  It didn’t hurt, I just thought it was cool.  When I said that, only I laughed.  I love it when a joke bombs & there’s an awkward silence!  Do I laugh, encourage him, is he done?

Life changed instantly for myself & a TON of other people.  What did Kim & I do?  With a lot of support we just addressed what we needed to!  It took me longer obviously.  I don’t necessarily like where I’m at personally.  At least I’m alive to work on things!

I fell asleep to “Taylor Swift” the album “1989”, woke up early listened to “Sum 41” the album

“13 Voices”, then “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “….like clockwork”

I exercised to “Iommi” the album you can’t find anywhere which I bought the day it was released.  Each song has a different singer on it.  Phil Anselmo (Pantera), Ozzy, Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters), Henry Rollins (Black Flag), etc.

I get it.  Superhero movies & TV series are everywhere.  You’ve got “The Avengers” & all of the spinoff movies.  Now we have “The Justice League” along with other spinoffs.  “The X-men” movies, “Star Trek” movies, the revitalized “Star Wars” franchise with new spinoffs.  As for TV we got “Supergirl”, “The Flash”, “Gotham” & “Arrow”.  I like the majority of them, I totally see the reasoning of others who don’t like them.  It’s a lot of stuff people aren’t into, so your hands are tied if you want to watch a movie.  Whatever other movie you choose to see had better be mind-blowingly AWESOME!  Since you probably don’t have a variety of movies to choose from?

Kim’s not really a fan either.  She doesn’t mind the “Marvel”/”Avenger” movies though.  I’m all in for the “Marvel”, “Justice League”, & “Star Wars” movies.  Along with “Supergirl”, “Gotham”, & “The Flash” TV series.  I’m good but I know others that are not on the wagon for this stuff.

Am I a Star Wars fan?  BIGTIME!  Ever since I watched the original trilogy as a kid with my dad.  I’m not a huge Star Wars buff, but I know enough to watch any Star Wars movie & know which one it is.  I just like these movies & TV shows.  “Arrow”, “The X-men”, & “Star Trek” I’m not into though.

Sorry, this got long too.

December 25th was Christmas with my family, as usual my parents wanted a Christmas list from me, then Mom buys almost everything on my list. Great, no complaining here…………………but. It always feels better to give. Kim & I were on a tight budget since we are still a bit in the red on payments to my parents who graciously gave us money while I was battling stage 4 brain cancer. My parents gift from us was a large payment of what my mother calls a “gift”. We intend to pay it all back. Everybody else was on a $50 limit. When I had the money, I loved going overboard on gifts. Where did I get that from? My parents. Friends ask me what I got for Christmas & I feel VERY embarrassed when I tell them. My mother delegates which gift is from who. My grandparents, my parents or anyone else who would like to partake. My brother, his girlfriend & Kim’s family end up asking me for other ideas for me. Liquor gift cards & iTunes gift cards are always welcome!

December 31st is my 7th year cancer free. Before I was diagnosed on Tuesday, February 5th 2008, I knew of 2 people that had cancer. My Grandmother who passed away from breast cancer & a co-workers wife that survived the cancer she had (I’m not sure what type of cancer she had). I now know of 8 people (roughly) personally who have had it or have it at the moment. I can’t offer any advice other than the Doctors are right but there is always that slight 0.01% chance they’re wrong. REMEMBER I WASN’T SUPOSSED TO COME OUT OF A COMA! My doctors got it wrong initially. 5-15% chance of ever opening my eyes again, yet here I am! I may look & sound different but I’m here & improving daily.

I was looking at the “…man in the mirror…” while in my wheelchair. Christmas goodies full of sugar have caught up to me. I look like Gru from “Despicable Me”, large torso with tooth pick legs. I think my holiday break from working out will end sooner than I had planned? I need a break, I’m tired. Monday, January 4th the routine continues.

Friday, January 1st was Christmas Eve with Kim’s family. We don’t have room here for Kim’s parents & brother to stay here, so they stay at Sherry & James’ house. We had some tasty “Tourtier” aka meat & potato pie, can’t taste the potatoes or else I’d choke or dry hieve. Opened stockings and gifts. Sherry cut the carrots………………..SQUARE! That just not right to me, they did have great rhythm though, they looked like they were ready to “Vogue”

Fancy carrots!

Saturday, January 2nd. It’s Christmas day with Kim’s family which means MORE TURNIPS! I love turnips, hate potatoes! No I’m not kidding!

Sunday my awesome in-laws return home. They should be home by the time I post this.

Some of us survived brain cancer, some didn’t, unfortunately

I guess the Guns n’ Roses reunion is going to happen

Ozzy talks about Lemmy Kilmister

My morning routine involves a healthy glass of blended fruits & vegetables, lil’ TV, exercise, too much computron, & then I repeat my mantra…

I’m not counting “Sum 41” out yet. Their album “Screaming Bloody Murder” is a very good hard rock album. Here’s a couple of clips from the studio on their new work in progress.

I heard word on www.facebook.com that Mark Tremonti has been writing “Alter Bridge” music while on tour & is currently done his tour. He’s home in Florida working on songs, which he has been sending to singer “Myles Kennedy” for when Myles gets to Florida with the rest of the group to commence recording the new “Alter Bridge” album. “Fortress” is a tough album to top, I can’t wait to hear the new album! Most of this is from who I assume is a relative of Mark Tremonti.

Guns n’ Roses are reuniting & Lemmy Kilmister has died, rough week for me. I bought the CD “Appetite for Destruction” by GNR & was terribly underwhelmed by it. I think I tossed it, since I NEVER listened to it more than 6 times. Guns n’ Roses are good at what they do, I’ve never been much of a fan though.

Remember “Beavis & Butthead”? ‘Live’ does.

Halestorm shared it…

The Needle Drop’s top 50 albums of 2015

Pentatonix shared this link…..

Tool shared this link. Their Facebook page is ran by a fan who I believe is close with the band?

Well it’s 2016, if the album doesn’t come out this year they will miss the opportunity of releasing the album a decade after it’s predecessor. It could be “10,000 Days” since “10,000 Days” was released. If we wait 10,000 days that’s roughly 27 years & 4 months. It will be released & Tool fans everywhere will “celebrate”.

Looky here! Tool shared another song. Because every fan wants to hear the older songs again. “Album? Are our fans crazy? No new material from us?”

Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath guitarist) talks about Lemmy Kilmister. Both of them have released songs with Dave Grohl.

NUDITY WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not surprised at all by this tattoo. Lemmy & Dave were good friends. Lemmy/Motorhead were icons to Dave Grohl.

Most anticipated release for January? Me, Megadeth!!!!!

Top 10 songs about drinking

I’ll add one. A little obscure, I love this album though! Oldie but a goodie

..and this is one of the many issues I have with Guns n’ Roses.

Guns n’ Roses 10 best songs. I’ve heard they’re getting $8,000,000 to play at any festival, could be wrong though.

Pentatonix shared this after a very good year for them.

Mark Tremonti has admitted in the past that Myles Kennedy is technically better at guitar. Who do you think sounds better though?

Mine’s not on that list, is your’s? This is one of my favourite metal songs. FYI-I’m on a “Lamb of God” kick at the moment.

The voice of “Star Wars” villain Boba Fett is dead at the age of 95.

I’m not surprised by this at all. Keep doing stupid things, what goes around comes around. I’m waiting for mine! I may not have done what he did, but I treated others terribly.

Top 50 debut hard rock & metal albums. Below is my preferred debut album. Not number 1 on the list but it’s there!

More on the passing of Lemmy Kilmister. With whatever Motorhead album you get, you know what you’re getting & you either like it or hate it. Diverse albums? Not with Motorhead! I like it but I don’t need every album.

Friday’s Rock It Out Blog

I’ve never been a fan of the majority of L.A. ’80s hair metal bands, other than “Mr. Big”. I can acknowledge that most of them have influenced the music I listen to currently. I would never say they’re terrible musician though. They’re all good at what they do/did obviously.

OK, so the Toronto Blue Jays have lost the first 2 games of a 7 game series. No need to hit the panic button yet. They also lost the first 2 games in a 5 game series against Texas. Remember it’s the best of 7 games, KC has to win 2 games to advance & the Blue Jays have to win 4 to advance, calm down Canada, it’s not over yet!

Now you can’t find this album anywhere, but I bought it ASAP, because Dave Grohl is on it!

Metallica fans aren’t holding their breath after the release of the last 2 albums. A TON of fans didn’t like those albums from what I’ve heard? Here’s James Hetfield with an update from the studio.

Halloween’s getting closer & closer. The only thing I enjoy about Halloween now is seeing the kids all dressed up! I don’t go to halloween parties or dress up. I just find that it takes too much effort for me. Anyways here’s www.loudwire.com picks for 10 scariest metal album covers.

10 songs about ghosts. I’d have to go with “Opeth” on this one.

Roger Waters of “Pink Floyd” with Billy Corgan & Tom Morello.

Nice quiet weekend here. Went out for supper last night to “Chilis” with longtime friends & there young child. Which means I had to wear pants despite it being Saturday. I wear shorts indoors year round. Until we left for the restaurant I was happy as a clam, short shorts, beer, & baseball.

I really like “Limblifter” but it’s on a Wednesday night. No good for me.

Buzz Osbourne is ticked with the ‘Montage of Heck’ movie. I think he’s ticked that his grunge band ‘The Melvin’s’ didn’t reach the success of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, etc. He pop’s up from time to time whining & complaining about these groups. His band is still going but very few know of them or their music. Take a hint “Buzz”?

Don’t know why. Bill Murray’s humour evades me, always has?

Finger Eleven shared it so here it is! Sounds better than the last 2 albums to me?

A movie I know I won’t be seeing, no disrespect to Bill Murray, I’ve never understood his humour.

One Direction? That’s what Rebel Wilson says she has tattooed above her butt hole.

Kristen Wiig & Will Ferrell in new movie!

“Orange is the new Black” season 3 hit Netflix last night! We’ve watched the first 2 episodes of the new season.

If they reboot “Jaws”, I’ll rent it. Anything else, I’m good really! I’ve got a special edition of the original “Jaws” DVD & I love it. Please don’t ruin the franchise, they already did that with the II, III & IV sequels I rented years ago, on DVD, at a Blockbuster.

“Cauterize” by Tremonti do you have it & do you like it? I don’t do reviews, I just tell you what I’m really into! For hard rock /border line metal fans grab “Cauterize” by Tremonti & “Screaming Bloody Murder” by Sum 41.

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/screaming-bloody-murder/id427041306 This was released in 2011 & it’s really good!

Got this with my iTunes pre-order, yes I pay for music? Weird I know? If the big name groups from the ’90s & earlier on made millions of dollars & lived in fancy houses with 14 fancy cars, why can’t the musicians of today have the same thing? I don’t know how most streaming sites work other than the new apple site. $9.99/month for music you don’t truly own. To me that sounds a lot like this? “You’re paying to listen to a radio”! You don’t own the music you’re basically renting it every month with Apple’s streaming service. I pay for each album/song I have & I don’t have to worry about “renting” it tomorrow or the next month. I pay for it & I’m assuming the money isn’t going to the right place 97% of the time. $2-$13 is really going to kill you for 1 album? I don’t have an excessive amount of money. If Kim says “Whoa! Hold up!” cool, I’ll wait. LANGUAGE IN THE SECOND LINK!!!!

Finger Eleven’s new album on iTunes

Right now I’m all over the place with my music. I always fit recently purchased music in to my day. “Silverball” by Barenaked Ladies, “Drones” by Muse & “Cauterize” by Tremonti.

I know what I like, now you tell me what you like? If I’ve heard it, I’ll let you know. I’m always on the look out for good new music. I don’t judge, I’m not a music snob. Anyone could come to me & say “WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU LISTENING TO THAT CRAP FOR????!!!”. Because I like it? Good enough for me.

Mark Tremonti is doing a lot of interviews for this new album! It’s worth it if you like this music!

If you live in the area here’s ticket’s for a festival. “Our Lady Peace”, Collective Soul”, “Finger Eleven”, etc.

New lineup for “Smashing Pumpkins”……………………again. I think they had more lineup changes than Foo Fighters?

Here’s Mark Tremonti’s title track from the new album.

Just got word our 12.5 pound dog can’t poop or pee on his pad on our balcony. Why? Who is this effecting other than Kim & I who have to clean it up? Does this mean I can poop & pee on our balcony? Our roof, everyone else’ rules. I didn’t know our 3′ x 10′ balcony that nobody goes on to other than our guests was considered a “common area”? I think I’ll roll up & down the hallway naked shouting 4 letter words, with my middle fingers held high for all to see & see if Brewster’s poop & pee is that big of a deal?

Songs I like. “Iommi” I bought it on CD the day it was released. Good thing because you can’t find it anywhere. There is an album on iTunes titled “Iommi” but it’s not the same one. This is a Tony Iommi solo album with a different singer on each song.

Henry Rollins, Dave Grohl, Phil Anselmo, Ozzy, Billy Corgan, Serj Tankian (after the first SOAD release), etc.

If ‘Imagine Dragons’ are the type of rock music for the rest of the decade, I’ll keep looking for the music I want to hear! They aren’t terrible, not what my ears want to hear.

Remember little Jordan Cook from Saskatoon? He’s all grown up & goes by the stage name of Reignwolf! (Blues music)

Spotify, Google Play, Pandora Radio, iTunes, & CD stores suck at the moment. I want to own my music, so I use iTunes. That being said, who do you think is getting most of the money? Not the musicians but iTunes & the label are likely getting the bigger piece of the pie. Do you want a radio subscription until you die or do you want to go to sleep at night knowing your music is there and you own it, you’re not turning on a “radio station” to play music. You’re turning on you’re home stereo or iPod. All of that cheap music will be there no matter what. I still purchase the odd CD & as many
Blu-rays as I can fit in here. I don’t plan on having a Netflix account for the rest of my life. I’ll go to a theater, rent the movie on iTunes or just buy the movie. Free streaming sites sort of seem like a pirated product to me. Even iTunes for music isn’t all that & a bag of chips. How will a new group or artist be able to afford to go on tour if they’re broke? What if I don’t want to see them in concert? I like Taylor Swift’s “1989” album, will I go to see her in concert if she comes to a venue anywhere near me? No. I’m not huge on country music, which will likely be included in her show. I downloaded the album from iTunes. “You’re welcome! I just gave you pennies for your album that probably cost you $900+ to make”. That doesn’t sound right to me?

Yes, I have “Hoobastank”, “Iced Earth”. “In Darkness”, & “Idle Sons” I like the sound of these groups, but I couldn’t pick out one song in particular, so here’s what you’re getting today………

Songs I like! “In Flames”
