I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Sonic Highways”

I exercised to “Jimmy Eat World” the album “Surviving”

Here’s the Canadian Red Cross website if you’d prefer to donate there for my birthday.  Donate whatever amount you like whenever you like please?

There are photos of myself & each guitar I own in the Facebook links on here.  You should know that I despise photos & videos of myself.  Also any audio of myself.  I’ve sang on a few recordings, I’ve listened to them a handful of times, all I do is find/notice mistakes either on guitar or vocals of myself.  I very seldom listen/look at to any type recordings of myself.

Kim called me on the way home from work Friday to get ready to go out to see “Little Women”.  I’m not much of a fan of period pieces, but there was nothing bad about it, I’ve never read the book.  I had to ask her this on the way though…

She didn’t remember that moment.  I guess when we were dating she just used me for my “Friends” DVDs.  Not sure why she keeps me around now?  Do you think she like…..LIKES me?

I’ll play the heck out of the new 6 string, then continue saving for a trip to where ever Kim wants to go.  Then I’ll save for the Limited Edition Epiphone Les Paul signature Matt Heafy 7 string guitar.  Less than half the price of the guitar recently ordered but it will take longer to save for…….and it’s off of the new 2020 Epiphone guitar website.  I guess all that remains are the guitars in stock at stores.  I feel sick!  There are other 7 string guitars but this was the only one I really liked.  Our “guitar savings” are spent.  Instant gut wrenching heartbreak…….as of Monday morning I find out that Long & McQuade have 9 in stock (at other stores in Canada) and can still get them in from the supplier.  I can’t afford that now, I was thinking a few years down the road.  I think a vacation with Kim & hopefully a house should happen before my final guitar purchase is made, if the funds are available?  I’m doubtful this will still be available at that time.

All 6 strings for me, but HOT DAMN that sexy PRS!  April seems so far away!  I feel like a kid in November waiting for Christmas!

I watch WAY too many guitar demos of my ordered guitar & this Epiphone model!

You’ll notice there is no Matt Heafy signature 7 string Les Paul guitar listed in the link below.  The hundreds of others don’t compare for me.  It’s about getting this particular model, not just any 7 string.

The PRS is my last regular guitar, if the 7 string is available 5 years down the road that will complete my guitar purchasing.  If it’s not available I’m done now.  I’m pretty sure I’m done now. Before I was sick I figured one guitar every 4 or 5 years.  Now on one income, I’m done.  Expensive hobby.

I bought an S2 semi-hollow.  They’re really not that affordable unless you started the company!  Mine is an S2 custom 22 semi-hollow.  Same line, different model.  5th highest model out of 6.  Even the cheapest model is more than $1000 retail if it’s a true PRS made in Maryland.  There are other PRS style guitars that are cheaper made overseas.

Kim’s at work all day and doesn’t see my exercise other than walking & stairs where she has to make sure I don’t crack my noggin’ open.  I’m rather inept when it comes to any type of technology so you’ll have to open the Facebook link & scroll down for photos of me & my guitars on Facebook.  The photos were taken on Saturday, January 18, 2020.  I hope this works, my apologies in advance if it doesn’t.  The photos will only on the Facebook link, sorry.

A photo of my ugly mug a few weeks shy of turning 40.  12 years after stage 4 brain cancer.  I collapsed at work on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008.  Yes, I’m wearing shorts indoors & it’s a blizzard outside.  I went to a movie in shorts Friday night while wearing shorts, a hoodie, toque, and gloves.  I went from the vehicle to the movie theater.  Yeah, it’s cold out.

This is me holding my first guitar I received on my 21st birthday from my family.  My (Green) Les Paul made by Tradition guitars that no longer exist.  The guitar is exactly the same as when I received.  This was my main guitar for every live show I ever played.  This guitar seems to push more bass tone, yet the pickups produce a lot of high pitched feedback if you’re not conscious about it.

This is my (black) Epiphone Explorer.  My girlfriend (now wife) bought it for me as a Christmas gift in 2002, we started dating in April of that year.  I had the pickups changed to EMG pickups for $200 after one show with it.  There’s an active EMG 60 in the neck pickup & an EMG 81 in the bridge pickup.  EMG pickups push more of the higher & mid-range tones which can also cause feedback.  Dave Grohl played a black Gibson Explorer early on in his career with “Foo Fighters”.  My reason for the cursive “F” logo of the band which I added as well as the Canadian flag.  Epiphone is the cheaper version of guitars also made by Gibson.  Same design, cheaper materials.  This has become my main guitar when playing electric guitar.  I play rock music for the most part while dipping my toe deeper into metal music.

This is the (Brown) Fender Telecaster I received as a gift from a very good friend of mine while going through physiotherapy in 2009.  This is the guitar signed by Ian Thornley, the singer-songwriter from the Canadian rock band “Big Wreck”.  This guitar has 2 single-coil pickups instead of humbucker pickups.  It’s also semi-hollow.  The sound is more geared towards a twangy country music sound or a blues sound on the neck pickup.  I rarely play this guitar, mostly because of the sound, country & blues aren’t suited to my taste in music also the neck of the guitar just doesn’t feel comfortable in my hand?  It is a very nice looking guitar, at least I think so!  I’ve always liked the shape of a Telecaster!

My acoustic-electric hybrid guitar made by Takamine.  This guitar is the only guitar I have purchased for myself.  I think the electronics inside the guitar fell during the photo?  All of my guitars are either hung on the wall or in a stand on the floor.  They’re more accessible so I can grab one at any time.  My acoustic is typically found in the living room.  The electric guitars are in our office by my guitar amplifier.

The acoustic guitar on the wall is the one I bought for Kim, the same Christmas she bought me the Epiphone Explorer.  She wanted a blue acoustic guitar.  It’s a blue Washburn acoustic with Grover tuners.  The only blue acoustic I could find in 2002.  She never learned to play it.  I used it to teach a few friends & I’m using it now for the same reason.  No charge, not a wealth of knowledge in my head, just the basics!

My amplifier volume is set to 1 ½ out of 10.  I don’t turn it up in case it bothers our neighbors.  My current amplifier contains one 10” speaker but is VERY loud.  My previous amplifier, before I was sick was 100 Watts with a cabinet of four 12” speakers to put things into perspective.  We lived in a bungalow with my gear in the basement.  I don’t miss carrying my amp & speaker cabinet to the basement at 2:00 am.

All of these guitars are out of production.  I guess they’re not cool enough for others, I like them though!

I hope my ordered guitar isn’t delayed significantly.  PRS were already sold out of the more expensive models, mine wasn’t one of them, before the trade show (NAMM 2020 Jan. 16-19) this past weekend in California.

My other hobby was playing Baseball, which I’m too old to play despite my iPatch & wheelchair.  I watch CFL football & the Toronto Blue Jays faithfully.  CFL starts in the summer.  Blue Jays spring training starts in mid-February.

I find that there is just too much TV these days.  When the fall premiers started I stopped recording quite a few.  Now with the New Year premiers I cancelled the recording of a few more & even bowed out of watching “This Is Us” last week.  There are about 10 shows that I never miss but EVERYTHING is an hour long lately?!  Add streaming to that, I don’t have that kind of time!  Sure I’m at home all day but I have stuff to do & a lot of the shows I watch with Kim when she gets home around 6:00 pm from work.  When I watch 3 hours of baseball every day in the fall, time management gets tricky, especially this upcoming year since the Blue Jays might be decent!  I always find time, as soon as Kim’s home, & we watch “The Ellen Degeneres Show”, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, “Prodigal Son”, & “Criminal Minds”.

Guitarist “Mark Morton” from ‘Lamb of God’ has released a 5 song EP.  Not sure if they’re all cover songs but I instantly recognized 2 1990s rock songs.  One by ‘Pearl Jam’ & one by ‘The Black Crowes’ this is a tame/relaxing EP, not metal at all.  He plays guitar with a different guest vocalist on each song.

4 day exercise total; 400 pushups, 300 tricep pushups, 200 back flexes, 240 squats, 400 leg lifts, 200 crunches.

I fell asleep to “Coheed & Cambria” the album “The Unheavenly Creatures”

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” the album “Wasting Light”

The thing I forget to do is stretch before my exercises.  I’ll start doing my exercise, then stop everything & stretch.  That’s a regular part of my routine, unfortunately walking isn’t.  If I had kept up with my walking, using a walker on my own wouldn’t be out of the question right now, I think?

Once I’m done my exercises on Fridays, my work week is over.  I work 1 ½ hour ASAP.  I’ll do some stuff around the house, I’ll make sure Brewster’s bowls are full, have my breakfast, shower, then hit the couch, sometimes with a coffee or usually with a full liter of water.

Fridays & Saturdays or special occasions are the only evenings I have alcohol.  2 or 3 on each evening.  The sugar in the alcohol usually makes me get up quite early.  The last time I had a hangover would have been before I got sick, 2007 or early in January of 2008.

What kind of world is this???  I don’t care if you’re a democrat, republican, white, black, brown, gay, transgender, straight, male, female, etc.  Are you a respectful human?  If so the USA could use your help in the White House.  Things are getting spooky south of us.

We certainly don’t need more guns in the world, but if you own a 3D printer & look on the dark web, I hear you can create one.  At this point the USA needs to ban semi-automatic guns & now 3D printers.  Thanks technology for creating printable guns, drones & robots or sex robots that I hear you can set to kill you, etc.  Anybody else think technology has gone too far now?

Well, Making a Murderer, wasn’t on Netflix last Friday.  I hear it’s coming on Friday, October 19th, according to Netflix.

So Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath is amazed that Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones is still alive.  Goes to show that just because you listen/play metal music doesn’t mean you’re an addict.  Hahahahaha!  Metallica & Dave Mustaine of Megadeth & Lamb of God are all sober too.

Guess who’s playing drums & singing?  I’ll give you a hint, it rhymes with rave roll!  Good luck finding this album.  I bought it on CD the day it came out, it’s now out of print & not on any digital music service.

Ah, crap!  Just when you think “Lethal Weapon” is in the clear this happens!

This is beyond weird.  How does a rap group take home “Best pop/rock duo”?

What does Corey Taylor (vocalist for Slipknot & Stone Sour) think about the music industry, regarding rock & metal music?

“Live” has a 5 song EP out today called “Local 717”.  All of the original members back together, & it sounds much better, more like the album “Secret Samadhi”

I only own one greatest hits album of theirs on CD, which are now packed up in boxes.  If it’s an older band I’m good with only a greatest hits album.  I do own all of the “Led Zeppelin”, “The Beatles”, “Pink Floyd”, “Rush”, “The Beastie Boys”, and more.  Anyways here are a few songs….

No summer vacation for us.  Kim’s work is rather shorthanded this month.

Friday ended with me having a beer & a covfefe while watching “Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown” followed by a trip to “The Queen City Ex” aka the carnival aka “Buffalo Days” to see “I Mother Earth” & “The Watchmen” in concert for a WHOPPING $12!  AWESOME!

We can look at this a few different ways.  A) I saw two of my BIG name bands from the ‘90s last year in 2 separate concerts at the casino.  B) I just saw them together Friday night at the travelling carnival.  C) Since 1999 I’ve been able to see them live while drinking a beer & paying less to see them.

The Watchmen are a fairly successful Canadian rock band, & incredible live.  The albums are great & then you see them live & they blow your mind they’re so good!

I Mother Earth is well taken among hard rock fans, but not for everyone.  I know Kim didn’t want to be there, but she stuck around, she could have left, I could have gotten a ride home with Mitch.

I guess Edwin’s back & Bryan’s out doing his solo country thing or is a concert promoter now.  Unfortunately Edwin & Bryan sound nothing alike.  We likely will never hear anything from the last 2 albums live (Edwin recorded just the first 2 albums).

The Watchmen played first from 7:00 pm – 8:20 pm or so finishing with their big hit………………

I Mother Earth played just as long & radio edit versions were not involved at all.  I think when they made the set list they may have been thinking something like this “They want this 7 minute song to be 5 minutes?  Too bad we’re making it 7:30 minutes long!”

I typically don’t like bands that improvise/”jam” on stage, if I’d have to choose one band that does it, I’d pick I Mother Earth in a heartbeat.

All we heard from I Mother Earth was about 5 songs from the first album and I’m guessing 7 songs from the second album.  Yes, we saw some slap guitar!  Not slap bass, but slap guitar in a solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Who else does that?

This solo below has slap guitar in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drummer, bassist, guitar, vocals, & 2 additional percussionists FANTASTIC!

I had somewhat of a high school crush Friday night watching these bands.  I discovered The Watchmen at home from sick one day on Much Music, Canada’s MTV.  1994 I saw this video on MM……………

1996 rolled around & this video and song was everywhere……………..

If it costs me $6 per ‘90s Canadian rock band now, there are a few more I’d love to see doing a reunion tour, that will likely never happen or they’re still together!

  1. A) Finger Eleven still together. They haven’t stopped since they changed their name from “Rainbow Butt Monkeys” & recorded the album “Tip” in 1998
  1. B) Matthew Good Band almost a guarantee to NOT get back together
  1. C) Wide Mouth Mason, maybe?
  1. D) Our Lady Peace together & opening for Guns n’ Roses, I don’t know if Our Lady Peace ever really stopped, much like Econoline Crush? Both just seemed to fade away from the spotlight? I’m not a Guns n’ Roses fan, I won’t be there.  I did just see Our Lady Peace open for Bryan Adams though.  They’re together & they’re good, as long as they keep the bulk of their shows on songs from their first 4 albums, which they did when I saw them!  Our Lady Peace last released an album in 2012 & Econoline Crush is recording with a new contract & label.  Currently there are 5 of their albums on iTunes, the most recent from 2010, a greatest hits album.

There could be many more added to that list of ‘90s rock bands, but that list would make me EXTREMELY happy!  Big Wreck has been back since 2011 & have released 3 albums & a 7 song EP of live songs & a cover.

The coolest thing about Friday night was that I was wearing a metal band T-Shirt, Lamb of God, & was complimented on it twice!  Once waiting for the show to start & some guy flashed me the metal horns on our way to our vehicle after the show.

I’ve had this experience before wearing one of my Into Eternity shirts in Boston & Edmonton.  Into Eternity is a local metal band that has done quite well as far as underground metal goes, check iTunes or your local music store, you’ll see 4 albums & 2 singles.  The first album is difficult to find.

Saturday evening we were babysitting for our friends.  Kim took Hannah to the “Emoji Movie”.  I stayed home with Brewster & the Roughriders game & the Blue Jays game.

Sunday Kim & Hannah had breakfast before I was even awake from sleeping on the couch.  I’m not sure where Brewster ended up sleeping?  He tends to roam when Hannah’s here.  He’s not sure how he’ supposed to act around young kids, he tends to get scared & find a quiet spot or curl up on my lap.  He does this also if there’s more than 3 or 4 people around as well.  Poor guy’s getting old, he’ll be 12 years old on January 31st, 2018.  We got him from a breeder down the street from us in April of 2006.

We finished Sunday with an early birthday BBQ for Corey at their place & a pile of Corey & Jolene’s friends.  I’d call it an annual event (well, the last 4 years as far as I know).  Corey smokes a brisket, we all eat & drink!

While at Corey & Jolene’s place I had a VERY odd sense of anxiety.  I don’t know what caused it, it certainly wasn’t anyone’s fault.  It was all in my head!  I didn’t freak out or anything, I just clamed up & felt out of place?  I couldn’t tell you why, I just felt awkward among people that I have no reason to?  Weird feeling, never happened to me before?  Again, nobody’s fault, it was all in my head.

Monday will be a lazy day for us, get ready for the week, watch whatever is half decent on TV or Netflix, lay low & prepare for Tuesday.  Yes, Saskatchewan, Canada has the most days off than any other province I think it is?

I’m a big fan of Lamb of God, In Flames, Trivium, & many more metal bands!  Trivium has made 2 albums that are terrible to me though.  I have issues with “The Crusade” & “Shogun”.  I do like the song ‘The Crusade’, as for “Shogun” they seem to get stuck on a riff & repeat it many times.  Quite a few fans call “Shogun” their favourite album.  I don’t get it, but to each their own!  I got into them on the 2nd album “Ascendancy” released in 2005.  I own most of the CDs, until the last 2 which I bought on iTunes.  Anyways, here’s a review/reaction to the new single & the instrumental ‘The Crusade’.

I just figured we’d all be using emojis in the not so distant future?

Pearl Jam shared it, & it’s the first song on my favourite Pearl Jam album!  Listened to this album every day on the way to my summer job in 1998!

FYI – The Paranormal album from Alice Cooper is REALLY good!

So many conspiracy theories flying around the death of Chris Cornell & Chester Bennington.  Leave it alone & let them R.I.P.

Yep, it’s a marathon, not a sprint at a Foo Fighters show!  They tell you as they begin a show.

How do the Blue Jays lose 16-7 on Friday in Houston, then play the same team the next day & win 4-3 in an extra inning.  Then go into the 9th inning ahead 6-3 and lose the game in the 9th inning 7-6?  Best team in baseball (Houston Astros) vs. the 2nd worst team (Toronto Blue Jays).  If you’re a casual Blue Jay fan, you may not want to watch a game for a year or two, this could get horrific!?

The fact that Pauly Shore is still around is incredible.  I love the Movie “Son-in-Law”

A Rolling Stones member had lung cancer & survived, without the public knowing?

I proposed to Kim in the best way possible, a surefire way of making her say the magic word “Yes”.  I caught her in an after work nap.  When I arrived with flowers & a ring & dropped to one knee, she said “Yes”.  She called her sister & told her “I don’t know what he said?  He had flowers, said all of this romantic stuff, and then proposed.  He told me too change from my sweats & T-Shirt to go out for a fancy supper”.   That’s how I proposed to Brewster’s mother!  Catch your future spouse asleep, your odds will be greatly increased, I believe.

I really miss exercising.  I never thought I’d utter those words?  When I start again, hopefully soon, I’ll have to build up to my regular numbers & likely reduce my crunches to 1200 or 1300 a day.  1500 is a little redundant I think, we’ll see?  This pinched nerve non sense is driving me crazy!  Sitting around & doing nothing productive other than stretching doesn’t fill my desire to be productive.  Sorry if I sound like a whiny broken record.  I guess I could plunk around on my guitar, as frustrating as it is.  My brain knows what to do but my fingers disagree!  “In the end, I’m not satisfied” with the status quo.

Well done by The Pretty Reckless, Highly Suspect, & Chevelle!

10 best metal songs of 2016.  I bought 4 of them the other 6 I purposely didn’t or have never heard since I’m not a fan of the group.

^^Good tune on a mediocre album.

I don’t know if Foo Fighters are touring or recording the new album, or both?

George Strombo’s tribute to The Tragically Hip after a 30 year career

I guess Ed Sheeran has a release on Friday!!  January 6th, 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No preorder, just a video on Facebook saying “new music on Friday”

Pentatonix close out 2016 with a bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Led Zeppelin albums ranked

I’d have to say my favourite is the double album “Physical Graffiti”

The 50 best metal song writers of all time

From this list, I’d have to go with the members of Tool, with Iron Maiden in 2nd.

“The Philosopher Kings” show Kim & I wanted to go to has been canceled, they’re in the studio recording a new album.  Why would you schedule a tour & then cancel it for studio time?  Seems odd to me?

Banger TV on best metal albums of 2016.  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I’ve heard a lot about Gojira, I’ve listened to the album on apple music, just seems too much miss & hit for me.  I think for 2016, Anthrax & Third Ion released my favourite metal albums of the year, oh & Opeth wasn’t really a metal album it’s quite soft & calming, while being really good!

Randy Blythe, from Lamb of God, year in review.

Coachella line up

It’s full of a lot of “WHO?”  For me unless Radiohead plays stuff like this from the 1990s

All of this is from the past week.  I started writing this on Friday all of the information on this post, is a week of music info on Facebook.

My nerve is much better after 2 visits to the Chiropractor.  More stretching & one more visit should do the trick.  On my side overnight the doctor recommended a pillow between my knees, WAY better.  When the pain is completely gone, I’ll cut WAY back on my exercises until January.  So this is nothing more than an update.  A poor way to end a good year of exercising.  Good time to slow down though.

Who knew “Staind” had more than 2 albums?  I thought they had 1, & I’m not joking.

Green Day with James Corden

Rock Star look-a-likes

New movie “Fences” with Denzel Washington

Van Halen albums ranked.  I borrowed all of them from a friend of mine, I ended up making my own greatest hits though.

If retired life without a driving license is me sitting on the couch, I’ll do whatever I can to go back to work or get a license!  HOLY BORING!  I think I’m done with Netflix……………..I think I’ve watched it all.  I’m pretty sure I’ve seen “Deadpool” & “Batman vs. Superman” too many times!  Next……..”Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens” for the 10th time!  I listened to a PILE of music also while trying to get comfy on the couch.  Listening to whatever I had purchased this year & I’ve been working on my albums of 2016 since near the end of October.

This is the clean trailer & it still contains LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s a lot like an action movie that was handed to Kevin Smith to write the dialogue.  HILARIOUS!  I guess the script was written & re-written over the course of a decade!

Anybody watching the fantastic new show “This Is Us”?  Did you catch the Thanksgiving episode, with Paul Simon’s “Graceland” album?

Article with Lamb of God regarding their new EP entitled “The Duke”, a fan who lost his battle with Leukemia.

Review of “Who You Selling For?” by The Pretty Reckless.

Sure, I also think Big Wreck should be as noticed as Soundgarden.  Fridays should be a part of a 3 day weekend, every weekend!  “You can’t always get what you want”

Guess who wrote & directed this video?  Long time Soundgarden fan & friend Dave Grohl!

Here’s best albums of 2016 so far.  Are they expecting more releases to come this year?  I’m not.

I fell asleep to “Alter Bridge” their 2nd album “Blackbird” followed by “Green Day” the latest album “Revolution Radio” then “Live” the album “The Turn” released in 2014 with a new singer.  I didn’t sleep well last night between getting up to pee & just not being able to fall back asleep. I ended up sleeping until 9:00 am.  I prefer to get up at 7:30 am at the latest during the week.

I exercised to “Rage Against the Machine” 3 albums on shuffle.

2 things happened on November 8th 2016 in the USA.  America got their first orange President & late night talk show hosts got a pile of material for the next 4 years.

I keeping my exercise goals right where they are at the moment.  My pushups are the last exercise I do.  I leave them for the end because they are my most difficult exercise & they completely drain me.  Today’s pushups weren’t nearly as difficult as yesterdays.  Everything’s coming, it’s just a slow process.  Writing this blog kept me bluntly honest & that faded a bit.  The promise of breakfast is now included in keeping me honest.  I don’t lie about my exercise, I just needed more motivation.  So far it has been a good week aka I’ve reached my daily goals.  Sure they’re difficult & time consuming.  I’m not about to do nothing & plant myself on the couch.  I’ve got time to fix myself!  I’m not OK with the status quo for me.  I need & want to get better.  Somebody telling me I can’t do it or that I’m doing too much just makes me want to prove them wrong.

I know people with a job & kids don’t have the luxury of ample time to exercise as much as I do, & I don’t expect them to.  I’d say try to eat healthy & squeeze in some exercise if & when possible, even if it’s 5 minutes.  Turn on the TV, watch a ½ hour show while doing an exercise if you have energy after the kids are in bed.  You’ll have to make time for it though.  Exercise was the furthest thing from my mind until I HAD to do it daily, so I understand the lack of motivation & time most people have.

I hate exercising until I finish it.  That’s why I start it first thing in the morning.  Immediately out of the bedroom 60 squats, & hopefully my water bottle is full or else I fill it during my 3 minute rest period before I do 60 more quats.

This is for anyone & everyone who might find this interesting! Please help me out if you don’t mind? I’ve been sharing this publically on my page, I don’t think it’s helping? Please do what you can to spread the word?

Thursday nothing but stretching & TV. Friday more of the same with a progressive metal show in the evening to kick off the long weekend! The show was really good. I haven’t been to the Exchange in quite a while. There’s somewhat of a metal scene there. We don’t all know everyone’s name but you go in there & recognize around 50% of the people at least! Great show & fun times! Sound was really good also! I can’t imagine doing sound for an opening death metal band, but it sounded very good! 3 bands for $10, good deal! I’m getting old though. The concert ended around midnight, I was tired, WAY past my bedtime!!! It was “Third Ion’s” album release show, really good progressive metal group!!!!!!

Saturday we went to my parents place for supper & to say goodbye to my cousin & uncle back to Winnipeg as of Sunday morning. We stayed there until around 11:00 pm. Staying out past 10:30 pm makes me tired.

Because of staying out so late, I planted myself on the couch to watch The Toronto Blue Jays fall back into 2nd place in their division. The funniest thing this weekend has been that the Blue Jay scored 6 runs in their game Friday night, & the Roughriders scored 3 points Friday night. The baseball team scored more than the football team! Hahahahahaha!

I think Kim is “Superwoman”, she’s more than amazing. Monday thus far has been Murphy’s Law since I went to shower. Kim’s probably sating to herself “That idiot” & she would be right in doing so. Knock on wood, I have yet to fall today!

Stranger Things” on Netflix is REALLY good. It’s a show based in 1983, a group of kids are playing a game & their friend disappears in the first episode & it goes on from there. 8 50 minute episodes & I really hope there’s a 2nd season! Yes I binge watched the last 4 episodes today, Thursday.

Too bad this isn’t the theme song….

I highly recommend “The Ranch” on Netflix starring Ashton Kutcher & Danny Masterson. This show is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! LANGUAGE!!!!!

I fell asleep to“Kongos” the new album “Egomaniac”

I exercised to “Bryan Adams” his greatest hits, then silence, not quite long enough?

I guess I did a little more than usual, that’s probably why the 16 song album didn’t play long enough. I’ve successfully added more push ups today & yesterday.

Yes, I like to have a plan for whatever is happening on a certain day or if there’s a certain event. 95% of the time it doesn’t work out according to anybody’s plan Life’s not a scheduled event. You’re born, & immediately people in your life usually do whatever is needed. I’m lucky to have 2 great familys. My family, Kim’s family & all of our friends! Something different will happen almost daily. We all need to take everything one day at a time. You know there is a good possibility that something will pop up & you’ll have to adjust your plan accordingly. I’ve never had a 5 year plan. I expected to have a 9-5 job, a couple of kids & an amazing wife! Only 1/3 of that plan worked out, it was that Kim is an amazing wife! Cancer changed the other 2 things. I had never planned on having cancer, who does? It hit me & everyone in my life, including me, had to adjust their plan. I never want to be a “burden” to anyone, but here I am with hundreds of really great people worrying about me. I’m fine, I’ve got this. If I need help I know you’re their to help me if I need it. So please don’t stress yourself out “worrying” about me? Hold my beer & watch this! I’ll call you if I need you or you call me if you need me? I worry way more about others than I do myself, that’s how I want to be! I think I’m somewhere in the middle though & I’ll likely be there until I become an “Avenger”?

I fell on my parents driveway on Friday & whoever saw it was ready to help me. I was fine, not even a scrape on me. That right there would be reason to panic, if I was bleeding, but I wasn’t. I got up immediately & got inside. You know what still hurts from Friday? When Brewster jumped on my lap & hit his tiny skull on my lip, no blood or anything visible, just a throbbing pain in my bottom lip! It’s a routine when we get in a car. He waits in the driver seat while I get my seat belt on, then I call him over to sit with me. He’s hit my jaw a few times & he’s overshot & hit his head on the window a few times.

Pentatonix shared it……………………

Friday is looking really good, music wise, not just the weekend. 2 albums for me!!!!!! “Third Ion” their 2nd album will be released that day “Biolith” & “Chevelle” will release the album “The North Corridor”

I tried to fall asleep to “Finger Eleven” the album “Five Crooked Lines”

Listened to probably half of that & it just didn’t feel right. I put on “Dream Theater” their self titled album that was released in the summer of 2008 while I was in the hospital.

I exercised to “The 1975” the album “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”

Yes, this is on both Facebook or email for subscription! for email

Perfect season so far for the Toronto Blue Jays. 4 home runs in 2 games. 3 Monday & 1 Sunday. Troy Tulowitzki, MVP Josh Donaldson, 2 run home run from LF Micheal Saunders & 1 from the highly unlikely back catcher Josh Thole (his 9th career home run). Time for another young guy who throws around 95MPH to start the game tonight. I hope he does well!

No thank you, the rest of the solo album is really good. Don’t mess with a classic you released in 1997 on Big Wreck’s debut album. I may be on my way to being a grumpy old man set in my ways, but I’ll always prefer the original version.

New studio album from The Rolling Stones! They could just tour if they wanted to. It’s not like they have a limited catalogue of songs to play.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw “My Morning Jacket”. 2003 opening for Foo Fighters in Edmonton on tour for this album!

I find the albums quite mellow, yet seeing them live is the complete opposite.

Not much of a surprise since Tim Burton directed the first Beetle Juice.

How do you not know who Mark Hammil/Luke Skywalker is when he’s in a movie of the Star Wars franchise that the company is making?

Good progress on the upcoming Chevelle album!

“. . .7 tracks down. . . only a few left to go. . . . .”

Layne Stayley, former singer of Alice in Chains, died of a heroin overdose 14 years ago today.

Yes, the band is still making music, it’s more the guitar player, Jerry Cantrell, & friends. They perform & record under the name Alice in Chains.

What ISIS really wants? It was written 1400 years ago so why now all of a sudden?

I can hear my dog dreaming in the living room. Quiet dog barks! He’s hilarious, catches my attention all of the time when flopping around on the floor & we’re watching TV.

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “Silence in the Snow”

I exercised first to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Rated-R” then “Kyuss” the album “Blues for the Red Sun”

You’ve probably never heard of “Kyuss” unless you’re a huge fan of “Queens of the Stone Age” or “Foo Fighters”. “Kyuss? Was Josh Homme’s group before he started “Queens….”. If you watched the ‘Sonic Highways’ mini series Foo Fighters have a song called “Outside”. “Kyuss” practiced in the middle of the desert out side of L.A. because they were too loud to rehearse in a house, to close to neighbours.

I use both. I don’t understand or care to understand how anybody can be just on facebook? Why do you need an email for an email with limitations? Not everybody’s on facebook? Very few people send a private message on facebook. Yes, social media has it’s place. Most of the info on this blog is from facebook, that being said I could likely get all of this info by subscribing to 30+ newsletters. I assume the only problem with that is that they would all come at the end of the day, then you’d be getting yesterdays music/pop culture news. I guess all I’m trying to say is email vs. facebook isn’t a contest, they both have pros & cons.
