I fell asleep to “Paramore” the recently released album “After Laughter”

I exercised to “Rage Against the Machine” the self-titled album

I’m 37 now, high school was a loooooooooooooooooooooong time ago.  Next year, I graduated 20 years ago.  High school isn’t something I think of very often since it was so long ago.  It was very much a clique situation.  I wasn’t a jock, “cool kid”, a part of any labeled group.  I hung out with Timothy Wong, Jonny Amore & Guy McWatt.  When I wasn’t with them, Timothy Wong & I hung out with Faye Wallenberg & Jan Wagner.  Both of those groups were pretty much unlabeled from what I know.  My high school was ENORMOUS!  I think my graduating class of 1998 was 240+?  I know for sure it was over 200 people.  I played in the school band, quit that & joined the choir.  Choir stuck as an extra-curricular activity, then I auditioned for the schools Chamber Choir, I made it!  I never expected to be on the list but I was beyond surprised!  The music program was very well regarded, one of the best in Western Canada, how did I fit into that?

In grade 11 (1997) I figured I’d try out for the baseball team, I made that too!  Another thing that I was shocked with!  I was seriously lacking in self-confidence.  I figured eventually “What’s the worst that can happen?  I might as well give it a shot.”  Achieving those 2 things were both pretty cool to me.

That was the last year I played baseball.  Playing 3B on a city league team & my high school team, I ended up throwing my arm out.  It just ached all of the time.  As much as I would have liked to play the next year, I knew I was done, just when I got really good at striking out VERY consistently.  I had one single in my last 2 seasons!  My batting average must have been .008 over the last 2 years, that’s not a good average at all.  A decent average for a 3B is around .260 or more.  I played baseball from the age of 4 – 17 so 1984-1997.  By 1996 the pitching was too fast for me, good thing I knew how to field decently to play every day.

Those were my 2 hobbies.  That’s why I watch as much baseball as possible & know a bit about music.  I may listen to rock & metal quite a bit but I’m not against orchestral music or listening to one of the many Harry Connick Jr. albums I own.

I can’t tell you where this all comes from.  I come in here, in front of my computron & just write verbal diarrhea.  Whatever pops out.  Stream of consciousness, like one of my favourite books “The Catcher in the Rye”.  I haven’t read that in years.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

Since the release of “After Laughter” by “Paramore”, I’ve been on an intense Paramore kick, with all 5 of their albums.  This new one sounds completely different & there’s definitely a “Blondie” influence.  I’ve never been hooked on Blondie though.

Just wanted to show that I’m not the only one who hears a “Blondie” influence.

I went to see “The Proclaimers” last year at the casino.  I remember sitting there thinking to myself “I’m probably the only one here wearing a ‘Lamb of God’ T-Shirt that will be back here in 2 days to see ‘I Mother Earth”

With the Manchester bombing & all of the other garbage happening in this world, I’m thankful to wake up the next day, especially with Trump steering, arguably, the most powerful country on earth!  My thoughts go out to those in Manchester who went out to unwind & have a good time.

The world is a VERY UGLY place right now!  It’s only going to get better if we all work together.  Seems like there is hatred around every corner now.  Remember how some little picture said it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 10 or fewer to smile?  I say “Smile & Wave” more at people instead of frowning & shuffling on.  It’s an ugly “dirty world” out there, do what you can to help out someone, it doesn’t have to be a HUGE gesture.  Help an elder cross the street?

I feel sorry for the younger generation that will inherit this mess we’ve collectively screwed up.  At least we get a mood booster from Ellen Degeneres weekly!

Rockers react to the attack in Manchester

I totally agree with Randy Blythe, of Lamb of God! “..the human race must do better than this..”

I’m not against any religion or atheist, believe in whatever you choose or don’t believe at all.  What religious book are they reading?  What ‘God’ would tell followers to kill others?  Why do others have to conform to the same religion as the EXTREMISTS do?  Why aren’t the other religious followers of the same religion doing what the extremists are doing?

I’m not trying to take this latest attack lightly.  If you think about it ISIS are like the carnival game whack-a-mole. They pop up, mess with your day, and go back into hiding before you can get them.  Why?  Because members of ISIS know they did something wrong!

New ‘Stone Sour’ video!!!!!!!!!!!!  Album out June 30th

Apple Music playlist of recent rock releases.  I’ve got both “Highly Suspect” albums & a few on preorder at the moment.  “Stone Sour”, “Royal Blood”, & “Nothing but Thieves”.  I really like the “Muse” single as well.  I bought the single & attached it to my favourite Muse album or else I’d never listen to it as a standalone single.

Why so that there are more people to witness and be injured in a terrorist attack?  You need to think a step ahead of ISIS!  I don’t see adding more troops/security/police doing much unless they know what to look for.  Until our protectors change the game & get ahead, the same thing will continue to happen.   I’m not trying to say they aren’t doing as much as possible at the moment, but whoever they are, it’s time to change their/our approach.

Busy day, lots to do here.  Not much time for the computron or interweb today.  I’ll be on here later.  Mostly I’ll be watching the Blue Jay game today!

Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

Thanksgiving weekend & Kim’s parents & brother came down.  We had our turkey day on Sunday at Sherry & James’ place.  Good to see them!  They live near Prince Albert, roughly 3 ½ hours north of Regina.  We haven’t been to their house since 2007.  Too long!  Since I had cancer, they come to Regina.  If Kim’s younger brother can get time off work he come as well.  He made it down this weekend.

I don’t know what it was but shortly after 5:00 pm yesterday, before supper, I could have easily fallen asleep in my chair?  Even today we got up & started cleaning, after a little more than an hour, Kim & I were both exhausted?

Thursday I went to this show at the Casino & then Saturday I returned to see a different show.

Went to the Casino again Saturday.  This time to see “I Mother Earth” their 20th anniversary of the album “Scenery & Fish”.  Yes, I was 16 when this album was released.  They broke up after their 4th album.  I saw them once in ’96 in Saskatoon on tour for this album & once in 1999 or 2000 on tour for their 3rd album.  “Scenery & Fish” is the most popular album of theirs, I think I read somewhere that it went 3 x platinum.  That seems to me to be an overstatement?  The only thing missing from the show was my mother.  My brother & I should have been washing the dishes listening to this album with our parents in the living room & my mother shouting at us “TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!!!!”  I don’t think she likes I Mother Earth?  I could be wrong though?

Fantastic show though!  They came out & played the entire “Scenery & Fish” album in order.  That’s something I think fans would like to see most bands do?  Play the entire new album & then a few other songs.  Most of these songs I’d never heard live, & probably never will again.

If they continue to tour & release singles, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you’ll hear these first two songs & maybe more?

These 2 songs are pretty much a guarantee to hear!

Yes, they’re a Canadian band.  This is from their 2nd album release in 1996.  This was only the 3rd time I’ve seen them live.  Once in 1996, 1999 or 2000 & this Saturday.

Can’t say I’ve ever been a big fan of Iggy Pop, but here’s an interview he did with Rolling Stone

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Long 1:28:56.

A lot of good tunes & videos to vote for here if you like?

Big Wreck shared it….

Ozzy surprises Sharon on her birthday!

Far too much good music coming out near the end of the year!  4 albums on preorder & a few I’ll wait on.  Here are the preorders I have yet to receive on iTunes finishing on November 18th

A couple of albums I know are coming out in November that I’ll have to wait for.  Gotta save cash for Christmas!  Always more important to give rather than receive!

I don’t know what it is about “Bruno Mars” I just find his music incredibly catchy!  I’m still cautious about getting the Metallica album?

Possibly “Into Eternity”, “Big Wreck”, “Royal Blood” & “Paramore”?

I like the new “Green Day” album, for me, it’s the third best album of the 3 I bought on Friday though.

This song has everything I shouldn’t like, I don’t know what “Bruno Mars” does to his music, but I think it’s fantastic without the sexist video full of stereotypes!

“Alter Bridge” album review

Soundgarden’s “Badmotorfinger” is 25 years old!

Take this “Tool” info with a ton of salt.  They’re extremely private about any recordings.  It will come out some day, & I’m not holding my breath for a release date or any ballyhoo!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Maybe a new album from “System of a Down”, they’re not sure.  European tour dates for 2017 though.

Toronto Blue Jays won 3 straight games against the Texas Rangers!!!!  Now it’s on to Boston or Cleveland for a best of 7 games series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3000 crunches, 300 squats, 160 pushups, 140 leg lifts, & a lot of stretching.  Disappointing week for me, exercise wise.  Busy doing my stuff & helping out Kim, with her bad back for 3 days of the week.

My goals for each day are: 1500 crunches, 100 squats, 80 pushups, & 70 leg lifts.

Normal weekly total should be, 7500 crunches, 500 squats, 400 pushups, & 350 leg lifts.

Weird game time again today 11:00 am.  After the fantastic win yesterday!!!!!!!!! 10-1 for Toronto.  I don’t know how long this will be either?  Playoff baseball to watch, & yes I’ll continue to stretch throughout the day.

I was at the casino last night, no I don’t gamble.  I was there, with my parents to watch “The Proclaimers”!  Yes, the “500 miles” “Proclaimers”.  A TON of energy, much like a “Barenaked Ladies” show, minus the choreographed dance number to the current top spots on the pop charts.  It was nothing more than a very good acoustic rock show.  We even saw one of my nurses that was in the Pasqua hospital when I spent a year there just sleeping.  I’ll guarantee I was the only person there sporting a “Lamb of God” T-Shirt & hoodie with a pair of shorts to top of my outfit!  I had no idea they were still preforming & that they continued to release new material???!!!?  They were really good!  They were touring behind a new album!  I figured I’d never have the opportunity to see them live?  If you missed them, I’m sure you’ll see them next time when “Queen” opens for them or when pigs fly out of my butt?

They played quite a few songs from that album.  Yes it’s on my iPod too.  Yes, I listen to it 2-5 times a year.

What “Green Day” singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, learned from “Foo Fighters”, Dave Grohl

30 iconic hard rock/metal album covers

Yes, I grabbed the “Alter Bridge”, “Green Day”, & “Sum 41” albums last night when I got home from “The Proclaimers”

No, I think I’m good as far as “Green Day” goes.

“Green Day” on Jimmy Fallon last night

Video inside the link, if this doesn’t work?

DAG NAM IT!  Bruno Mars has an album coming out November 19th

I’ll have to write this down & buy it later.

Gotta run!  Things to do & playoff baseball to watch!  Go Jays Go!

I find the majority of pop music to be very disposable at the moment. Name a song post 2010 that is a well crafted pop gem? There are a few I can think of, are the musicians still popular/relevant? If I want to hear pop music there are a handful of things I’ll go to. Remember this is just my take on the subject.

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “S” for System of a Down!

OK, there’s people all over the world reading this. Subscribe if you like? I wont use your email or Facebook for anything. It’s safe, don’t worry about it.

Why am I not surprised by this? You knew someone was going to say something regarding Slayer?

How is Slayer attacking Jesus Christ? In Europe there are how many Church Burning black/satanic metal bands? Has Slayer or Iron Maiden ever burnt down a church? Not that I can think of. If you don’t like it, leave it alone. Slayer thanks you for the advertisement! I can listen to Slayer, but after a ½ hour it sounds a little repetitive? I get tired of a guy yelling at me, yelling not growling death metal vocals you can’t understand.

Def Leppard release info on new album.

Cool video from “Swedish House Mafia’s” Steve Angello. I’ve never heard of this person or group, but I do like it. Not rock or metal.

“Run the Jewels” with “TV on the Radio” team up on Stephen Colbert

Jimmy Fallon with CappafrappalappamochaAriana Grande. Wheel of Musical impressions!

I haven’t really paid much attention to “Radiohead” or singer “Thom Yorke” since the release of their 4th album “Kid A” that was released October 2nd 2000.

A Metallica fan was murdered?

I like the new album by Finger Eleven. $45+ is quite a bit to see them in a bar though? The Saskatoon show in O’Brians Event Center for that amount is respectable. Great venue, boring drive!

Sorry, this popped up as a suggestion on www.youtube.com Hahahahaha!

I wish I could go to this show, but it’s tomorrow, Thursday, I don’t go out unless it’s a weekend usually.

The Rolling Stones aren’t done yet! Personally I think they should stop recording & just tour their 500 albums they already have?

Behind the scene look at Muse’s 2016 tour

In Flames have invaded the NHL. Check out this goalie’s mask.

New Order’s new song. I’ve never heard music by them, just the name!

Limp Bizkit’s guitarist Wes Borland lands DIY renovation show. I just think it’s weird they’ve made a career out of the music they play.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, feel invited to like & share this! Facebook or the actual website give this a second to load all of the links. Some days youtube.com is a little wonky?

Phish on Letterman http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/06/watch-phish-perform-on-late-show-live-on-letterman/

Never heard an entire song, not for me.

I’m going to possibly get heck for this, I can feel it coming on as I type this.

Yep, these guys and only this particular album. Now that I think of it, this is my heritage! I’m half or more Scottish, so……………..it works out great!

I grew up with this and I love it. My father bought the CD when I was still in elementary school. The CD was released when I was 8 years old.

So here’s a few album tracks, this could be difficult. I can put this on and listen to all of it.

The title track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmELS03_4So
