I fell asleep to “Radiohead” the album “The Bends”, followed by “Halestorm” the album “Into the Wild Life”

I exercised to “Blameshift” the album “Secrets”

Don’t feel as though you have to open every link.

When I was going my therapy, my hands/palms would get very sweaty, especially during my Occupational therapy.  When I would do something simple, my hands would shake & sweat terribly.  I didn’t have much strength at all.  I was doing my therapy putting plastic pipes together (more like the idea of using it as legos for fine motor skills).  I never want to drop anything, so my hands started sweating ASAP since I was so nervous.  Physio, occupational, & exercise therapy were all scheduled for 45 minutes to an hour each.  The vast majority of my therapy was 17 hours a week.  My therapists doubled me for quite a while.  It worked though!

They may not be the tremendous numbers they were before, but I could feel it on my abs this morning.  This with my exercise feels normal to me.  The last 4 ½ months just felt like I was absolutely useless, so this is a very welcome change.  I guess it has to do with not being so dependent on others.  Everyone has been really good about taking me to wherever, I just don’t like to be a “burden” to others.

There aren’t even many releases I’m holding out for?  Other than Pentatonix & Linkin Park, I only know for certain that there are a few albums coming from Queens of the Stone Age, Stone Sour & Royal Blood.  “In a galaxy far, far away” someone has a new Tool album?

The other 3 supposed arrivals have no new material out yet!

I got up to pee at 6:00 am.  That’s when we get up anyways so I started my exercises by about 6:05 am.  When Kim left for work, I had finished my squats, ½ of my leg lifts, & had done 870 crunches.  I finished my exercises by 8:30 am.  I was “exhausted”.  I sat on the couch where I had my coffee, juice, hardboiled egg, a Mandarin orange, & another full bottle of water.  Stayed there to watch 2 one hour late night talk shows.  Then I showered & now I’m here.  Yesterday Kim had to wake me up 3 times before I would get up.

Disclaimer you do whatever you want to with the internet, except cell phones at a live show, TURN THEM OFF please!  It’s annoying to others and will sound like garbage when you watch/listen to it on your 4 inch screen on your cell phone at home or on your tablet, iPad, or computer.  Wait a few months for a concert DVD or Blu-ray release.

Why do I choose to attain my music, DVDs, & Blue-rays via a purchase?  Here are a few reasons.

I pay for my music so that Apple can’t take it away if Apple Music shuts down.  I can’t replenish my music library all at once by spending $900 at once on digital music.  We pay for Netflix like everyone else does.  We were paying an extra $4 a month to a website so we could use both Canadian & American Netflix.  Before that site was shut down 3 TV series I was partially through disappeared.  I was watching “Criminal Minds”, “The Wonder Years”, & “Quantum Leap”.  All 3 vanished from Netflix weeks before the website disappeared.  If it’s a TV series I really like & don’t have access to I buy the DVDs.  “Criminal Minds” is one of my favourite shows on TV, I already had the available seasons, 1-9 I think it was, on DVD.  Good thing I had the DVDs or I probably wouldn’t have access to older shows.  We don’t have HBO because it’s an extra $20 a month for 3 channels so I bought “Sonic Highway” the Foo Fighters’ miniseries from iTunes.  It’s mine.  I paid for it legally & yes I’ve watched it multiple times.  Streaming sites for actual shows will likely be common practice in 15 years if not sooner.  Sporting events, news, & maybe talk shows won’t be on streaming sites.  Cable & DVDs might be more money, but no one can legally take them away from me.  I haven’t seen the FX series of “Fargo” our cable company does not have that channel as an option.  I’d like to see it, but it’s on another streaming site.  Those multiple streaming sites will add up to paying for cable or “satellite”.  Our streaming sites don’t include Hulu either, so I have no idea what’s on there other than “The Path” starring Aaron Paul from “Breaking Bad”.  I’m in no dire need to see it.  If it shows up on Netflix or our digital cable sure I’ll watch it.

I’ve watched the older shows when I was younger, they were available on cable in Canada, but not now?  I don’t NEED to see them again but I’d like to have the option to see them?

Once I’ve purchased an item, it’s mine for as long as I want it.  Nobody can legally take it away from me & it will always be right where I left it.  Does anyone still have Napster files that were downloaded when it first came out in 1999?  I don’t?

There’s quite a bit of stuff on TV regarding O.J. Simpson. I watched the HBO series “The People vs. O.J. Simpson” & the 5 part mini series “O.J. : Made in America”. I think it was the most opportune time for him to allegedly murder his ex-wife & her new boyfriend. N.W.A. & the Rodney King tragedy were all over the news at that time & in the same state. Black people being black people & white people abusing or accusing any person of colour for whatever they wanted to? So of course O.J.’s team of lawyers were going to play the colour/race card. Unfortunately people forgot about the colour red?

It’s long past due that our society allows discrimination for colour, religion, sexuality, or anything else. It’s what’s on the inside that matters………….literally! Anybody that bleeds, bleeds red! The blood DNA was a slam dunk case against retired football star O.J. Simpson. There is no doubt in most peoples minds that he was guilty. His lawyers took the spotlight off of the evidence & put it on black people & all of the senseless racism going on at the time. I was a teenager at the time & even I thought he was guilty. Yes, I am caucasian. Am I racist? No! There’s always at least one bad apple in EVERY group & yes, I’m including caucasians.

Nobody’s perfect so EVERY stereotype is right but with many exceptions, enough to make EVERY stereotype wrong! I don’t care what your skin colour is, your religion or sexuality is! Are you a good person? If so, can we be friends?

It frustrates me that 50% of the time I turn on the TV during a breaking news story that there has been a mass shooting somewhere. It’s not really breaking news if it’s so frequent and continues to become even more frequent?

No I’m not saying Canada is better, we have crime, stereotypes, gangs, etc. Now it seems like every other person is pissed off at a certain group of people because the group is not the same as everyone that person associates with? That would be boring if we were all the same, but it would probably decrease the amount of unwanted violence? Just be you & who cares what anyone thinks of you outside of your circle of friends & family?! If someone chooses to kill or harm another person, the world will more than likely judge them & their actions, not you.

Good grief I’ve written 2 chapters of a novel! On to the music/pop culture portion of this thing.

Not everything in life is right or wrong, you know this as much as I do. In certain situations there’s large gray area. Do I know if I’m doing the right thing to beat, beating cancer? Nope, but I’m trying & I will likely be better, but how much better will I be?

Anyone can do what they think is right, but there’s always the possibility that it wont turn out for the best. I’m not a gambler, but life is a gamble. Just when you think you’ve got it, everything can flip upside down. How you react to these situations is what others will think of you. Remember, you can’t please everyone all of the time. That would be far too much effort with very little gain, you might end up not liking who you are. If you’re happy, your family & friends are happy, I’d call that a success! It can still get screwed up though. I always have this thought in the back of my mind when I see a sketchy situation coming “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst”. I didn’t hit rock bottom at all, although I did have my own pity party. “There are millions of people” worse off than me!

What do I call myself, not a hero or victim? I don’t care for either one of those words. I’m EXTREMELY lucky & alive to tell you about it.

Until I hit rock bottom or fly really high, there’s always someone worse off than me or somebody doing much better than me. I’m in that gray area, & it’s pretty comfortable! I don’t want to stay there though, that would be boring after a few years. Foo Fighters named their 2011 album “Wasting Light” because Dave Grohl doesn’t want to waste his time here. I now feel the same way, that’s why for 5 days a week. I go as hard as I can aka I like to get up early & stay up late to accomplish as much as I can/want.

Let those who review, do their thing!

I can’t wait for Roctober (Yes, I just made up that word & added it to my spell check) at the Casino!!!!!

NETFLIX

With all of the hype about “Prophets of Rage” I got somewhat nostalgic & fell asleep to “Rage Against The Machine” their self titled album.

I exercised to first “Dream Theater” the album “Black Clouds & Silver Linings”

Did my squats to half of this one song, didn’t feel right. I changed it to “Genesis” their double album of greatest hits. Yes, I’m Christian, do I believe in televangelists? Good grief no! I couldn’t find the actual video. I found the intro for you!

I surpassed my goals for exercising today. Yesterday I achieved them. Monday I didn’t, but Tuesday it was “…a whole new world…”

I’ve never had the mind set of ‘Just get it done’. I do know though. No point in putting something off if you’re going to do it eventually?

I started watching “The Ranch” on Netflix yesterday. I’ve currently watched the first 4 episodes. I like it, it’s funny to me. Danny Masterson & Ashton Kutcher, better known as Hyde & Kelso from That 70s Show, play brothers mid 30 year old brothers who help out their father with his range………..then hilarity “follows”! LANGUAGE!!! IN THE TRAILER!!!! It got bad reviews but I checked it out regardless. That’s why a review from me is only “It’s good or terrible”. Whatever is on here whether I like it or not is for you to check out & see if you like it? I want to know what you’re into as well. Maybe I’ll like it, maybe I wont? It’s all pretty subjective. I don’t follow Canadian politics or vote. If you do that’s fine by me. For me, it’s boring & a waste of my time, if it’s interesting to you, that’s great! I watch a lot of the current campaign in the USA. It’s all that’s on sometimes & Trump has made it a circus, so it’s entertaining at times. I just want to be entertained. My age may be 36, but I have the mindset of a teen.

Who gets to take an afternoon off to be at a baseball game at 4:00 pm eastern time in N.Y.? It baffles me that they have a decent crowd for games at that time?

So I was watching “The Ellen Degeneres Show” while she interviewed Hillary Clinton. They’re both tired of the campaign, who isn’t? At least when it’s all said & done they get to vote. As Canadians we just get to watch the 3 ring circus called Donald Trump until, hopefully November. If he gets elected I’ll be EXTREMELY worried! Face it, nobody gives a hoot about Canada, we’re pretty much known as that cold country above the USA. I don’t really follow politics at all, & I don’t vote. I’m not telling you who to vote for, I’m saying I’d vote for Hillary Clinton ASAP! If Trump is elected, I’ll suggest to Justin Trudeau that Canada should build a wall at our southern border & make the USA pay for it? Remember Trump, you’re “…really rich…”

BASEBALL IS BORING TO MOST, I GET IT.

I fell asleep to “Halestorm” the album “The Strange Case of….”

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” 60 B-Sides on shuffle. About half of their B-Sides are cover songs. Here’s 2 that are originals & one that is a cover of Pink Floyd.

Well the next one isn’t Foo Fighters. It’s Dave Grohl & Louise Post from “Veruca Salt”. Recorded for a soundtrack to a Jonny Depp movie called “Touch” that went nowhere fast in the late ’90s or early 2000s

Pink Floyd cover. Dave Grohl & drummer, Taylor Hawkins, switched so Taylor could just sing.

I get it so many people don’t care for baseball. I’m different, I’m Canadian yet the NHL has become nearly unwatchable for me. The only thing I see in hockey are people getting into fights. That’s exactly what the Blue Jay game turned into on Sunday. 2 bench & bullpen clearing fights between the Blue Jays & The Texas Rangers, the difference? It wasn’t 2 idiots on skates that one person landed a semi respectable punch on the opponent. It was 2 all morons on deck to fight over something that happened in October? Just let it go! It was a new world one second after Jose Bautista did his bat flip in the playoffs last year & Sunday 8 people got ejected because they had a hissy fit over something that happened last year? Here’s what happened in October followed by what occurred Sunday.

Texas was offended by that, it’s now 2016. Put on your big boy pants & get out of the 1950s. The game has changed. Somewhat for the worst and somewhat for the better. It happened & it’s over, yet they dig it up on Sunday?

Even if the analyst says “That’s how things are done”, well it’s not 2009 or earlier when he played the game. Heck he made it to the big leagues, I was no where remotely close to them when I played city league baseball at the age of 17 in 1997. That stuff is what I call “bush league baseball”. I never engaged in that stuff, however I had a team mate that was all about it. In my head I always thought “OK, do what you want & make yourself happy. None of us are coming out to fight your battles for you”. He wasn’t someone I wanted anything to do with.

On Sunday, I watched numerous MILLIONAIRES play a GAME, throw a temper TANTRUM over something that happened in 2015? That’s more than a little RIDICULOUS to me.

Kim & I are both burnt out. We both have tunnel vision, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. We’re both burning the candle at both ends. We need a break, not a stay cation. We need go somewhere & relax. Yet the money tree disagrees. We might visit family in Canada. We let our passports expire after we went yo Boston in the summer of 2007. Bottom line we’re both tired.

I had to do a few chores so of course I turned on some music”Clutch”, “Big Wreck”, & “Genesis”.

Do you have any highly anticipated releases coming your way in June? I have 2 but they’re not on this list.

CANCER/MR. INDEPENDENT

I first tried to fall asleep to “The Pretty Reckless” the album “Light Me Up” switched to “Trivium” the album “Vengeance Falls” & fell asleep to that after a few songs by “The Pretty Reckless”

I exercised to “Lamb of God” the newest album “Strum Und Drang”

I want to be more independent. That’s why I workout everyday of the work week, 1200 crunches a day & whatever else I have energy for. I usually get up at 7:00 am when Kim leaves for work then I either exercise right away so it’s done & out of the way, or I have breakfast first. Usually I workout first. I also eat much healthier than I did before. Breakfast is water, black coffee, a hard boiled egg and a glass of blended fruits & vegetables. Lunch is usually chicken in a wrap with Frank’s Red Hot, crackers & hummus, or just more fruit. Supper is usually something quick, easy, & healthy, or Kim stops at Pita Pit on her way home & I’ll ask for a salad when she calls me. If there’s chocolate or potato chips around, I’ll fight it off for a few days & then eventually succumb to my desire if it’s still here. We try not to have that stuff around. If it’s full of sugar &/or salt, we try not to have it in the house. I figure I’m 36 years old & it’s past the time that I should pay attention to what I eat, & do some exercise anyways.

In a weird round about way surviving cancer turned out to be a pretty good thing for me, other than just being “alive & kicking”. It was a wake up call for me, “HEY, IDIOT! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! THIS IS A SECOND CHANCE! NOT EVERYONE GETS ONE OF THOSE!” With surviving cancer the way I turned out, I have that amount of time to do that.

Nobody needs to worry about me. I’m fine, you’ve all been through this with me & you’re still there if I need help, thank you. Even if it’s just a small thing I need help with you’re all there to help & it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Pre-ordered the new “Tegan & Sara” album “Love You To Death” release on June 3rd

Looks like I won’t be seeing Batman v. Superman in the theater. I’ll just buy it on blu-ray when it’s released. Tonight is it’s last showing in the theater. I don’t leave the house often on weekdays, if at all.

I saw “The Jungle Book” last week instead. The CGI was fantastic, but I saw the Disney cartoon as a child & didn’t care for the story then or last week. I could have not gone to the movie & watched the trailer for the CGI.

Top 10 disappointing albums

Yeah, I’m a fan of the first 2 albums & the recent one by Coldplay.

New Alice Cooper album!!!! Yes please.

http://loudwire.com/original-alice-cooper-band-reunite-new-album/

Here’s a review. However many albums Radiohead has released after “OK Computer”, I just don;t like them. So from now on, for me, until they release something half decent everything gets a D-. They can be FANTASTIC or terrible. I would assume they’re a band doing music for themselves, as they should be.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/05/album-review-radiohead-a-moon-shaped-pool/

I love his voice, not the music though. If you think “grunge” & metal are depressing, listen to a bleak Radiohead album. I could listen to “The Bends” & “OK Computer” for multiple days at a time along with Foo Fighters “The Colour & The Shape”.

Remember pre-order “Chevelle – The North Corridor” tomorrow.

Yes, I purchase my music from iTunes, because I want to own it. If you prefer streaming music that’s fine with me. It feels more like renting music to me. Sort of like Netflix. I like it but then the series I want to watch or that I’m not done with disappears. I found out that streaming music sites don’t have everything that iTunes has.

The Agonist shared it…

The new Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals “Call it what it is” is really good & quite diverse, reggae, acoustic, rock, pop, etc. Every song is totally different than the last.

Alter Bridge would like to have their album released in September. They’ve just finished recording it or it should be recorded before the weekend is done. Then it will be in the mixing process, followed by the mastering process. Seems like a quick turn around!

This might be good? I’ve never heard their music before. I guess their last release was in 1994? That could be wrong.

Not cool at all!

How did we spend our weekend? Friday night we stayed home & did nothing but unwind from the week & watch too much TV. Saturday was our 11th anniversary. We went over to our friends place, Corey & Jolene & our “niece” Hannah, to hang out in the back yard, watch Brewster try to take on Dug (who’s roughly 6 times Brewster’s size), BBQ, shoot the breeze, take down some Rebellion beer, & cap off the evening with a showing of Disney’s “Tangled” before Hannah went to have her bath. We came home & watched/bought “Ellen Degeneres’ stand up HBO special The Beginning”.

Now it’s Mother’s Day. I hope you took the opportunity to “Love your Mother”

I just like the song below & it has the word “Mother” in it.

Nothing big for Mother’s Day. Mitch, Rachel, Kim & I took my parents out for appetizers. That’s what Mom wanted to do this year.

10 amazing drum stunts. LANGUAGE!!! They’d be impressive if the sound was better?

Of course it was also a weekend of music for me. A TON of “Ben Harper” with a dash of “Third Ion”.

I think Alter Bridge members deserve a break, especially Mark Tremonti & Myles Kennedy. I love their music, but the Energizer Bunny/Battery won’t last forever!

Jimmy Fallon & Keith Urban do country songs as a duo called FML

Preorder Chevelle’s “The North Corridor” on Friday, May 13th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me explain this first. I’m not, nor was I ever a great singer, I was good enough. I can’t teach anyone how to sing. Just go out & do it. Repetition might just work?

Yeah, I mean I think the best way to learn how to be a better singer is to just go out there and do it live every night. I think that’s what’s been the best for me. You know vocal lessons are one thing, but actually applying it onstage is the big thing.” – Mark Tremonti

Ian Thornley of Big Wreck never intended to be the singer for Big Wreck. The 4 guys dropped out of The Berkley School of Music to form Big Wreck the other members sort of voted for him to be the singer.

I never really got into “Hole”. Not because I was a Nirvana fan & then a Foo Fighters fan. Hole just wasn’t for me.

I fell asleep to “The Agonist” the album “Eye of Providence” after all of “Into Eternity” the album “Buried in Oblivion” & 3 songs from “The New Meanies” the album “Three Seeds”. I woke up to pee (I think I’m turning into a pregnant woman) & then fell asleep to “Ed Sheeran” the album “X”

^^They’re Not around any more & didn’t get to much of a level of success. I think they released one album & I saw them the final time in 1999? I remember seeing them & going straight to the hospital to see my grandmother who was dying of breast cancer.

I exercised to “Radiohead” the albums “The Bends” & “OK Computer”

Everything I do from now to whenever is me bombing around the house in a wheelchair! I get on the floor to exercise, play with Brewster, our 12.5 pound dog or get something with a long handle to reach whatever I dropped under the bed. Life could be a lot worse.

If I played the murder game Ellen Degeneres was talking about a few years ago, where you wink at people depending on what your card says. Everybody has to catch you winking since that’s how you murder someone. I’d win that game by a “landslide” or lose just as poorly. I’d say “I was winking under my eye patch?” or I guess I’d have to shout out “HEY, I WINKED AT YOU!” & I’d be caught instantly.

Yes, I try to listen to as much music as possible. On Monday I even listened to an Alter Bridge live blu-ray concert from Wembley Stadium after their 3rd album while doing stuff in the kitchen. When I was in high school I’d turn on some quiet music as I fell asleep. Once I had my bedroom in the basement & a 5 CD player I’d fill it, put it on random & shuffle as I fell asleep.

Now I listen to my iPod with different/more comfortable/better sounding ear buds by Senheizer. Yeah, it takes me a while to find the right music that will help me sleep. 4 or 5 different albums until I get the right one. Oddly, it’s usually a metal album?

And there was no joy at the Rogers Center in Toronto last night………………..again. The visiting Chicago White Sox won 10-1. R. A. Dickey & mostly his knuckle ball can’t retire fast enough. Dickey seems like a good guy & seems to fit nicely as a veteran player. The knuckle ball is a very rare pitch. Pretty much you hold the ball a certain way so it doesn’t spin, pitch towards the catcher & hope it’s a strike & it’s tough on any catcher. You need a different/bigger glove to catch it & only a few catchers can actually catch it. He leaves the field after 6 innings down 6-0, hands it off to the bull pen (relief pitchers) they give up 4 more runs, the Blue Jays hit one solo home run & call it a day?

I knew it would be a blood bath when it was 6-0 & before when I knew who the starting pitcher would be. Seems like a good guy, but I strongly dislike the knuckle ball in general!

Tomorrow night or Friday morning I’ll be getting 2 preordered albums from iTunes at midnight eastern time Thursday night, which is 10:00 pm in Saskatchewan. Tremonti’s album ‘Dust’ & a Rob Zombie album.

Older Rob Zombie song the 3 new ones are not appropriate.

Halestorm shared it. Singer Lzzy Hale singing with Lita Ford & her band on stage.

The Glorious Sons shared it…..

Opeth’s “Lamentations” album to be released on 3 vinyl albums July 22nd

“The live album, originally recorded at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on September 25, 2003 features ‘Damnation’ performed in full along with a selection of tracks from ‘Blackwater Park’ & ‘Deliverance’. “ “Lamentations” is a live album that was released as a double CD.

At least “Tegan & Sara” are doing something they enjoy. I like some of their stuff.
