I fell asleep to “U2” the album “Songs of Experience”

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

Monday I only did 3 out of 6 exercises, pushups, crunches, & squats.  Tuesday was my birthday aka I did nothing!  On Monday I was still recovering from Saturday.  No hangover, just stayed up too late.  Usually any time after 11:00 pm, is a game of Russian roulette for me.  Everyone left by 11:00 pm, but I stayed up until 12:20 am or so & wrote most of this!

I guess I’m old now & not as cool anymore.  I’m 38 & still feel (in my mind) like I’m 20.  I really don’t miss doing the jobs I did in my teens.  Especially being a “banquet porter” at a hotel.  Longest shift I ever worked was there 14 hours long.  That was a difficult job, strength wise.  All of those weddings, Christmas parties, ethnic nights, meetings, dances, etc.  That’s why I got so tired of hearing “one hit wonders” from the 90s.  Most nights there would be some event & weekends were a guaranty there would be at least 3.  Bartending, serving food, cleaning up & setting up meeting rooms for the next day, putting a banquet room together, all of that I did for far too long 16-20 years of age I’m guessing.  I already had to wear a tuxedo shirt & a bowtie for high school band & choir at school & then at work that night………….by the way, I REALLY don’t like wearing dress clothes.

You’ve probably never thought of who put 500 round tables in here for your supper & this dance floor for afterwards.  I never thought about it either, but it was a team of likely 20 people, & I was one of them.  I’d spend an evening shift going up & down the back hallway & heard this kind of stuff on repeat……..

How many times have you heard the “Macarena”?  Great multiply that by 50 & welcome to my life as a teenager!

I would hear those songs 5 times minimum on a Friday or Saturday night at work.  Then go home & watch “Much Music” & turn it off immediately if they were playing one of those songs.  I can tolerate them, but after the 3rd time it just became ridiculous!

I tried really hard to watch “The Grammy Awards” but it was mostly me thinking “Who’s that?  Why is this the cool thing?  Man, I don’t get the attraction to this music, it’s mostly disposable candy music I’ll forget tomorrow.”

Thank goodness for “Bruno Mars”, “Sting” & “U2”.  If you we’re hoping to see the rock & metal categories, they weren’t aired on the TV broadcast.  Foo Fighters won for best rock song & Mastodon won for best metal performance.

Bruno Mars may sample stuff, but he’s always entertaining!

I think this all points to the fact that I’m not all that hip to what the cool kids are listening to, & that I suddenly became old.

I didn’t see the last 15 minutes of “The Grammy Awards” & I’m pretty sure I didn’t need or want to.  Congratulations to those who were nominated & those who won.  I applaud you’re hard work, I’m just not your demographic for most of you.

Every front man/front woman wants to be Freddie Mercury on stage, but they’re not.  They’re themselves & fans just want honesty, so it works out for everyone.  I wasn’t in an extremely successful band or even a moderately successful band.  I figured, “They paid $5 to see us play, might as well do the best I can!”  If anybody saw us whether it was a free benefit show or if it was a $15 ticket to a Cabaret, they’d better enjoy their evening.

Are you a “Led Zeppelin” fan?  Have you bought the “Greta Van Fleet” album “From the Fires”?  It’s 8 songs that you could easily put on any “Led Zeppelin” album with upbeat tempos.

I made the mistake of watching some of the “State of the Union” speech last night, & I almost……

It doesn’t matter how many beer you have “Tom Sawyer” is one of the 3 radio hits by Rush that has never been enjoyable for me!

Should the Blue Jays have tried harder to get Christian Yelich?  Try?  Who says they went that far?  Anything not regarding Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should have been seriously considered.  The GM & the manager of baseball operations were told not to “blow up” the core players.  So I guess it’s the owner of Roger’s communications who really wants to irk the fans.  So far this has been an absolutely TERRIBLE off season!

http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/sportsnet-hot-stove/blue-jays-tried-harder-get-christian-yelich/

If you’re not a diehard fan of the “Toronto Blue Jays” at this point I’d ask that you please avert your eyes.  This season could be worse than last year.  If you choose to watch you’ll likely be watching mostly old struggling players among a few minor league players to fill other spots.

COFFEE (& CIGARETTES)

I got up, had my breakfast juice, made coffee, & filled my water bottle. Wrote part of this post & went back to the living room. Somehow I dumped an entire coffee all over the place. You’d be amazed at how far one cup of coffee can spread! It was black coffee, I never put sugar or cream in my coffee. I had to wipe it up with a Swiffer wet pad after a bunch of tea towels. The house smelled like coffee for a bit, now it’s gone.

Fell asleep to “Meg Myers” the album “Sorry”. Woke up to this song in particular “I Mother Earth” the song “Meat Dreams” from the album “The Quicksilver Meat Dream”

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Jamiroquai” a ‘Greatest Hits’ I made on iTunes mostly from the “High Times” collection on iTunes.

I’ll state this up front. The ’80s hard rock & metal in L. A. was not at all what I grew up on, or heard at that time. A few of these I do like!

Might as well stop bickering and doing thousands of scientific tests on GMO’s. Since the anti GMO groups have asked for another test, since the tests haven’t shown more facts supporting organic food?

http://licensetofarm.com/

Yes I had cancer, but “I’m still standing” I eat more vegetables & fruit than ever before. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been sick, & I don’t need 5 fingers to count it, so I’m pro GMOs. You eat what you want, & I’ll eat what I want. Don’t believe me, believe the farmers & scientists.

LANGUAGE!!

Long debate, close to two hours long, but worth watching. If you’re against it, that’s fine by me. What are you doing to prevent GMO usage?

We tried to grow corn in our previous garden. It had the texture of chewing gum. It could be that we did something wrong or that it was organic? I don’t which honestly? I do know we wasted time, a little money & threw out the corn after a few bites. In this debate, cheese & insulin for diabetics were the first GMO products used.

I hope this never happens, I don’t think the result would be good for fans, actors, Stan Lee, or JJ Abrams/George Lucas. Epic fail.

Good night!

Now it’s Thursday! Good morning all! People who say they feel great after a workout are one of two things. WRONG or LIARS! I workout I feel like crap it’s 9:44am and I should go back to bed! I read somewhere that sitting isn’t healthy for you. I’m in a wheelchair, I’m screwed. I should lay down more! Thank you!! I’ll be here all week! Enjoy the veal!

Yep, Foo Fighters played “Everlong” on Letterman last night, if you missed it here it is. I haven’t watched Letterman for well over a decade other than to see Foo Fighters on the show.

Some albums sound very similar throughout the album, that’s fine, I listen to that as well. If I were to make a chart it would do this..
I prefer diverse albums, those are what stick with me the most, like this stuff…

I’m not a fan of KISS or Metallica but I think any band that has the longevity & the number of albums they do as well as a legacy should likely just tour on their big albums that helped get them to this point. KISS, Metallica, AC/DC, Rush, U2, etc.

Here’s a few clips I’ve found of him doing cover songs I wouldn’t see coming from him. Would you ever expect to hear Queen or Rage Against The Machine at a country music band concert. WARNING!!!

Starts out nice & simple then, not so much

This was always fun to play at 2:00am

As morbid as this is, it’s true. The only certainty in life is that it will end, so don’t waste your time worrying about your death or anyone else’. Enjoy the present. Don’t worry about the past, you can’t change it, & you don’t know what the future will bring. Just enjoy your time here in the moment. I was scared about my death long before I had cancer, I realize now that there are some things you can’t prevent, so why worry about the next second of your life?

Songs I like. “Great Big Sea” released in 1996 &1997 their first two CDs which I bought when they were released. I saw them live twice, once on each tour. I don’t think I’ve listened to them since I graduated in June of ’98
