I wrote and published Friday’s post & instantly felt very selfish.  I wrote this late yesterday afternoon with a break for supper & movie with Kim, then stayed up until 2:30 am finishing writing & editing this.

I think it’s pretty cool when I see a guitar that I own being used by a professional musician.  I got my Squier Starcaster 2 ½ weeks ago.  I watched a video, for the first time, on www.youtube.com and Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, has the same guitar in a music video from his band “Mammoth”.  He also plays bass guitar in Tremonti, Mark Tremonti’s solo project to “Alter Bridge”.  Wolfgang could easily put a ‘Wolfgang guitar’ designed by his dad and made by the “EVH” brand, sold at a much higher price point than the Squier Starcaster but he chose the Squier, same model and colour as mine.

I BOUGHT THE Squier Starcaster for a few reasons.  I REALLY like my friends hollow body Gretsch guitar, the Squier was VERY affordable, & David Grohl plays a Gibson Trini Lopez all of the time.  His signature hollow body guitar.  They’re not in production anymore & were $12000 + tax in Canada brand new.  Now the used ones are listed at $17,576 to $32,000.  The cheaper used one is more than ½ of our 2019 Toyota RAV 4!!!!!!

You know what I don’t want or need fancy expensive guitars!  I don’t feel sorry for myself at all!  I feel VERY, VERY fortunate!!!!!  I feel sorry for the people that were helpless & had to watch me go through stage 4 brain cancer not knowing if I’d ever come out of a coma with only a 5-15% chance of waking up.

Most of all Kim.  Kim has to deal with a physically disabled husband EVERY day!  Kim puts my wheelchair in the back of our SUV if we go anywhere.  Kim has to help me go walking with my walker in case I fall & crack my head open.  Kim cooks supper.  Kim gets groceries for us.  Kim gets my prescription refills.  Kim takes me for my MRIs, to my psychiatrist, & family doctor.  Kim works a full time job for us.  Kim painted our entire suite by herself, twice now.  Kim orders stuff for me online.  Kim never gets anything remotely extravagant for herself.  Kim bought a bicycle in 2019, it was stolen & never found after only 3 months, and she never replaced it.  Kim bought herself cross country skis this winter.  She used them once & her feet were covered in blisters & incredibly sore.  Kim wouldn’t let me help her if she wanted something from around the house.  She slowly walked on her blisters around the house.  She bought this condo with our money after I was released from my physiotherapies.  Kim told the doctors to save my life instead of harvesting my sperm & letting me die.  My parents had that decision & left it up to Kim.  Any extra money Kim gets, she spends on stuff for the house.

Kim bought me the Epiphone Explorer I have for Christmas 2002 after we had been dating since mid-April 2002.  Kim bought me the Epiphone Matt Heafy signature Les Paul Custom 7 string last year for my 40th birthday.  Kim paid for ½ of my PRS S2 Custom 22 semi hollow.  The guitars I have are GREAT & the 3 guitars I’ll buy are GREAT!  If they weren’t I wouldn’t have chosen them.  I know I’ll never meet “Foo Fighters”, “Alter Bridge”, or “Lamb of God” I’m just another fan.  I’m seriously OK with this, its Kim’s right to take credit for what she lets me do.  I’ll likely never see “Lamb of God” live again since they never tour through Calgary, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba much & nobody I know wants to see them as much as I do.  “Alter Bridge” might come to one of these locations & I’ll be there if they come, Kim wants to see them.  I haven’t missed a “Foo Fighters” show in Calgary since the ‘Wasting Light’ tour in 2011(?) & in the 2000 & 2003.  I’ve converted my father into a “Foo Fighters” fan.  I think he’s been to every show since the ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace’ tour when I had cancer.

I couldn’t LOVE Kim more for what she does for Brewster & me, or just for being who she is.  A thoughtful, loving, caring, generous, smart, hardworking, humbling, attractive woman, who chose me of all people to spend her life with.  I didn’t even make it to our 3rd anniversary in 2008 without getting cancer but Kim stuck with me.  One of my oncologist at the hospital called Kim “the best wife I’ve ever seen”.  He said that most spouses that go through something like we did break up before it’s over but here we are after almost 16 years of marriage and 18 ½ years together.

I’ll order the long awaited PRS S2 McCarty 594 I’ll order it in early December.  Then save MY Christmas & birthday money from our families for the other 2.  Even with this income tax oops I’ll have the down payment to order the PRS S2 McCarty 594 and pay the rest of it when it gets here 6 months later.  The Godin radiator & the Sterling Cutlass should be GREAT guitars regardless of the low price.  Those 2 combined with tax is still far less than the S2 McCarty 594.

There’s only cosmetic reasons to upgrade the PRS S2 McCarty 594 & the Godin is made in Canada.  The Sterling Cutlass is exactly what I’m looking for in a Stratocaster style guitar.   All 3 guitars check off all of my boxes, as does every guitar I already own.  I have absolutely no problem waiting & saving for the Godin & Sterling!  I want Kim to get her hobby stuff more than anything!  I’ve only paid for 2 ½ guitars here, the other 3 ½ were gifts.

All of these guitars are desires not needs.  I’ll be here most of the time & I choose to play guitar instead of anything else.  Even when I watch Blue Jay baseball or CFL I’m playing my acoustic guitar.  Kim’s doing anything but watching TV with me.

Sure I’m here for Kim for whatever I can do for her, our families & friends.  Kim takes no credit for what she does for our families or our friends.  That’s just who she is.  Me, I’m good but Kim is AMAZING!!!!

This was the only type of 7 string I was really interested in/wanting, because it wasn’t a pointy, metal looking guitar.  I’ve got my 6 string Epiphone Explorer from Kim for that.

I listen to 7 string guitar music, I don’t play it.  7 strings, I’m all thumbs, 6 strings, I’m fine.  That’s my reason for selling it & putting the money towards the PRS S2 McCarty 594.

It would be great to upgrade & replace my PRS S2 Custom 22 semi hollow with the new Core PRS Special semi hollow but it’s not needed for sure!  I can’t afford it at over $5000 + tax in Canada.  Even if I lived in the USA it’s over $3000 there.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Exercise total for 5 days.

400 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

240 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

900 Crunches

900 Leg lifts

300 Squats

600 Back flexes

Disappointing week of exercise.  “One week” off for renovations and the weight exercise suffered bot days that I do them.  Short on one set of both shoulders & curls both days.  I expect better from myself.  I’m patient with other people but not with myself.

If “Blink 182” wrote it……

Ever since my brain cancer diagnosis in February 5th, 2008 I know of 8-10 people personally that have died of cancer & 3-5 of old age.  I know 3-5 people who have survived cancer.  I don’t know of anyone that has died from the virus but I know 6 people that have contracted it, quarantined, and survived.  I am now 12 years 2 ½ months cancer free.  The doctors gave me a 5-15% chance of ever coming out of a 4-5 week coma.  My brain cancer or cancer in general I was told would come back in 2013.  It didn’t.

One of my doctors, the one that chose which chemo to use, said he didn’t think my cancer would come back & after 2 or 3 MRIs said I should be OK doing X-Rays.  I asked about not doing MRIs.  I was VERY claustrophobic at the time & the MRI machine was very small for my body and my shoulders would rub against the sides of it.  For quite a while I was doing annual (20 minute) X-rays for the doctors to check.  As of early last year I’m back to doing annual (3 hour long) MRIs.  I’m nowhere near as claustrophobic as I used to be.  3 hours is a VERY long time to be strapped to a board, wear a thick/hard plastic face mask which is also bolted to the board, shoved into a tube, & told not to move.  Well it’s only 3 hours a year, I’d say doing that, being in a wheelchair, being alive, spending my life with Kim, & having GREAT family & friends is a REALLY good trade off.  Things could be way worse!  I don’t have another MRI until sometime in May, I also have a phone appointment with my psychologist in May.

There are still moments where I feel as though I’m a burden some, especially for Kim.  We get up at the same time during the week & we just go until we have nothing left.  I wouldn’t be able to do my exercises, have a roof over my head, eat, practice guitar for hours a day, etc. without Kim.  When she’s working, I leave her alone other than checking in on her 2 or 3 times a day.  Why do we work so well together?  Her weird matches my weird.  Sure there are times we argue or disagree on things but they don’t linger.  Kim & I got married in May of 2005 & we aren’t fans of being apart for too long.  When I was in the hospital for 4 ½ years with cancer and then my physiotherapy, Kim slept on a cot beside my bed, took me throughout both hospitals & my physiotherapy center all of the time.  If I was in physiotherapy, she was in that same room helping my therapists if needed, or helping me tie my shoe.

I recently since either Saturday January 30th or February 6th I have not had any alcohol.  I figured I had scaled my alcohol back so much to save money for my final 3 guitar purchases that I might as well just stop.  I have some rum in the cupboard, 13 oz of a 26 oz of Gin since last May, & an apple cider in the fridge.  With me drinking so much water, a cup of tea, & a Bubbly carbonated water with natural fruit flavour a day, or just water.  I’m usually full on fluid.

I’m just the older, mediocre looking face of the franchise.  Kim’s the pretty one running the show in the background.  I’ve had my birthday this year and I’m 41, Kim’s birthday isn’t until October & she’ll be…not 41?!  To sum it all up, we’ve seen some shit!

Just so everyone knows this, I’m not hoarding guitars.  In today’s world I don’t get the opportunity to play a guitar without buying it first, typically.  20 years ago I’d spend 4 hours at a guitar shop playing different guitars through different amplifiers.  2 things have changed that.  I’m a bit older & therefore have more responsibilities.  The 2nd change is that almost everything is online.  Now I don’t get to try a guitar out to see if I like it.  I have to read about it on a website, order it, buy it, and decide if I like it.  It’s like buying a mattress online, not very practical.

So I have parted with one guitar & will soon part with another.  One of these is gone as of January & the other will be sold soon.

They’re gone or going for other guitars. I brought “The Big Maple” home on Tuesday afternoon…

Starcaster

I’ll be using money from the sale of the black 7 string guitar to purchase the PRS S2 McCarty 594 which I hope to order in December & wait 6 months while it’s being made.

This S2 McCarty 594 is made in Maryland, USA.  The Schecter Tempest is made in South Korea.  The Godin Radiator is made in Richmond, Quebec, Canada.  Because I live in Saskatchewan, Canada I’m paying both arms & legs for the import guitars from America & South Korea.  The one made in Canada isn’t atrocious at all despite it being almost a boutique guitar.  If these are all purchased I’ll have a guitar from Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, China, Canada, South Korea, & 2 from the USA, a mosaic of good quality guitars all different from each other & quite a few different tunings.  I’d rather play a guitar than tune it.  Maintenance should happen every 6 months & the only expense for it is cleaning supplies every 3-5 years & strings.  I can see the light at the end of this tunnel.

I was going to stop writing on this website when I got my final guitar.  That will be a few year from now & 2021 seems like a good year to forget the past.  So one post in January 2022 will be all.  If you’ve been reading this long, or at all, you must be REALLY bored or actually care to read my story.  Thank you!  Sorry if you’re just beginning to read this, it started in 2011 and was deleted because I was just angry in general & VERY rude.  This site now dates back to 2012 and will disappear a year after I stop writing this stuff.  In other words, we’re not paying the miniscule annual fee to keep this site going once I’m done.  When this ends, I’ll continue to exercise & likely stop when it becomes too much if all goes well & I live that long?  I hope too but who knows what the future holds?

I started learning this last night.  Not a difficult as I thought but many chord changes to keep track of, I got thinking “I go from a C# to a G# back to a C# and then a C, D, E, then what?  B, F# to an E, A and then the huh?”

I learned this by ear in about 15 minutes.  Then I looked at the music, either I was close or the 4 ½ star rating on the website was off a bit?  I was going to call my brother, but I figured it out.  I just needed to listen to the song a little more.  Pretty sure this is his favourite album.  I gave their first two albums a listen Wednesday night.

My favourite album is “Foo Fighters” ‘There’s Nothing Left to Lose” because it’s really diverse!  Yes I always prefer the deep cuts instead of the singles.  This album is VERY closely followed by “Big Wreck’s” ‘The Pleasure & the Greed”, again for the diversity of 16 songs!

If anybody has questions pertaining to the little I know, ask away.  The only stupid question is the one that isn’t asked.  If you don’t know, there’s probably someone else that doesn’t either.

Carappé I’m behind!  I need to eat a cake once a week for 4 years and have surgery to become a woman.  Kim’s not gonna like this idea!

Well, just after I published Tuesday’s post “Myles Kennedy” singer/guitar player for “Alter Bridge” posted his 2nd single from his 2nd solo album.  Here’s the title track…

That officially makes 3 nights at home with me sleeping on the couch.  Big renovations are done but everything is dusty & my transfer pole beside the bed isn’t back up yet.  We’ve decided to just tackle one room at a time, and the bedroom is up first.  When everything is back to normal in our suite, I’ll post some photos.  Even with the mess it looks VERY good!  Saturday evening & I’ll be sleeping in our bed finally!

Kim picked up the 3 ½ X 3 ½ foot wall art on the weekend it’s quite heavy since it’s a wood, cedar.  After I said just to leave it & get someone to help her with it, she got it up on the wall!

I know I’m saving for the PRS S2 McCarty 594.  I hope to order it in early December.  Once I’ve saved enough for that, I’ll see if the other 2 are still around and just keep saving money.  If they’re both discontinued, I’ll figure it out then.  Relieve my stress from my phobia.  I’d love to rush out and order the 3 guitars, but I know that can’t happen, so why worry about it?  If the Schecter Tempest & Godin Radiator both go out of production before I order either of them, then I’ll look for a cheaper option.  I would love to order all of them before they’re discontinued still.  I’m a little worried about that still, but not as much as I was before.  Until then, I’ll be saving as much as I can for the next how many years?  I’m not getting any younger & our RSP & RDSP come first!  Had I put any thought in prior to choosing these guitars, I wouldn’t have that sense of F.O.M.O. to deal with at all!  These guitars for me are much like the pandemic for most people.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I just need to get there!

I’ve pretty much stopped drinking alcohol.  All I drink now is a gallon of water a day with a possible tea or bubbly.  I haven’t had alcohol since the end of January I think it was?  I can’t say I miss or crave it.  I’m not necessarily trying to stop drinking.  This is more of a byproduct of me saving money.  Do I want a cider, rum, beer or would I rather save for a guitar?  I choose guitar!

Every time I look at my choices for my last 3 guitars, the more confident I get with all of them.  The guitar below is payed for and was supposed to be here March 1st.  It arrived late yesterday.  I’ll pick it up later today with my preference of strings on it.  YAY, new guitar day!  Belated birthday exchange gift!  The guitar I returned on my birthday was completely different & felt very stiff.  It was the first guitar I had played with Indian Laurel on the fret board and it just wasn’t comfortable, this has a maple fret board.  I’m fine with maple, rosewood & ebony.  I believe other than this guitar & my Fender Telecaster, the rest are rosewood.  I’m interested to try the new trend of roasted maple, but not interested enough to seek out a guitar with a roasted maple neck.  There’s also a trend of stainless steel frets.  I had them on the guitar I returned.  The stainless steel frets & the Indian Laurel on the fret board I found to be pretty uncomfortable.

www.youtube.com isn’t great for sound samples.  Too much compression of the sound over the interweb.  I like it more when people describe the way a guitar feels or how the amplifier feels in the room.  Although I’m not big on sound samples over the internet, it was nice to hear the Godin Radiator can still sound like a big guitar.

Phillip McKnight/Know Your Gear channel on www.youtube.com does that in all of his videos & that’s why I watch him.  Learned quite a bit about what to look for in a guitar.

Some people might think I have a lot of guitars & they’re all the same.  You’d be wrong on both accounts.  None of them sound the same and many of them will be I different standard tunings, open tunings, & a few common alternate tunings.  Nothing too crazy here.  I have one acoustic guitar, a Fender Telecaster, a Tradition Les Paul, an Epiphone Explorer, a PRS S2 Custom 22, a Squier Starcaster later today, & I hope to order a PRS S2 McCarty 594 in early December.  After that I hope the Godin Radiator & Schecter Tempest are still around to order.  None of these guitars look or sound the same.  Even though they all have humbucker pickups, there are many different brands & models of humbuckers within a brand/company.  My Fender Telecaster has a single coil pickup & a lipstick pickup.

I find that as I get older I seem to not worry about things.  I’m passionate about things when they occur.  If nobody’s getting harmed in any way, I tend to just let things be.  I was angry in general coming out of the hospital.  Then I watched the USA completely unravel and became increasingly angry every week & now I’m just tired & hoping things will return to business as usual.  As global citizen’s we all still have issues to deal with like racism, climate change, sexism, the mention of ‘fake’ news, bullying, etc.  It does feel a LOT like we all need to take a breath before we go after whatever is next on the list to take care of.

Please remember to continue wearing a mask in public despite getting the vaccine.  Nothing is completely normal until the health officials say so.  I don’t care what you googled or what your friend told you.  Let the “World Health Organization” do their job.  I didn’t google how to survive cancer, & if I did there’s a good chance I wouldn’t be here right now.

I find it VERY difficult to believe there are still people who question taking any vaccine.  These people make me tired.  Just take any vaccine so we can all get passed this please?  I don’t want to hear any whining that you had to wait for however many hours in line to get a needle.  These people exhaust me.  Biden wants this over for American’s by the end of May.  Last I heard is that Trudeau is planning for the end of September in Canada.  Can we all just get together on one thing at a time?

This link describing how the virus has been politicized is SO far from what is needed right now.  Doctors & scientists will help us defeat the virus & be healthy with a return to some type of normal.  Politicians will keep the economy going.  No healthy people = No economy.  Keep faith in science or were hooped!

I completely forgot that the Grammy Awards were on Sunday night.  Kim switched off “Netflix” & the Grammy Awards had just started.  I guess that’s not a HUGE deal for me, I have no clue who most of the artists are?  I haven’t bought or streamed any of their music yet, but I do like what I’ve heard from “Black Pumas”!  I did start streaming “Black Pumas” Sunday evening.

“Trevor Noah”, host of the Daily Show, hosted the Grammy Awards.  I’ll paraphrase what he said that stuck out to me.  ‘Now artists can make HUGE hit songs & millions of people can stream them.  If that musician or group is really lucky they’ll get a check, anywhere from 2 to 3 dollars’.  He said it as a joke, & it’s funny because it is true.  I’m streaming to save for guitars but because I’m streaming on Apple Music with Kim we pay $14/month.  So were paying $168 a year for radio in that we don’t own it, we rent it.  We stop paying the monthly fee, our music goes away & whoever made the music has to go on tour to make any money?

Monday was back to exercise as usual, nice to get back into the routine.  I miss it when I don’t do it.  I think at this point I’m maintaining, & I’m OK with that.  Sure I have a small belly & love handles, I can live with that!

I’m anxious to see a live concert but still unsure if I’d go to any this year, even after EVERYONE gets a vaccine.  It would be hard to say no to a “Foo Fighters”, “Big Wreck”, “Myles Kennedy”, or “Mark Tremonti” concert though!?

I started streaming ‘NIRATIAS’ by “Chevelle” that was released on March 5th.  Going by the ratings on iTunes I’m a little off preferring the song ‘Peach’ to ‘Self Destructor’, oh well!  Different strokes for different folks!

I think I figured out why I get SO nervous/anxious when filming myself playing guitar.  I’ve played live to 12 people & 500 people.  Sure I was nervous at first but after a song or 2, I was the most relaxed on a stage playing to 500 people live.  Why?  More people I see a bigger crowd not 500 individual faces.  Playing to a cell phone camera, I have no idea if 3 people will see it or 200?  500 people yelling at me live, I have no idea what they’re saying individually.  10 people commenting on social media, I’ll see who says what & I worry about being perfect and tense up.

I used to talk a lot, now I’m very quiet.  I’m self-conscious about the clarity of my voice & there’s very little breath behind it.  I’ve also found that with being quiet I can learn more.  That’s a good reason for me to keep quiet.  If everybody’s talking, who’s listening?  I am, so I can learn about others or whatever the topic is.  For me, learning is listening & listening is evolving.  If I stop paying attention to the conversation, I won’t learn or evolve.  If I know something about the topic I’ll speak up although I prefer not to.  So when I go into a conversation I ask questions and I’m not afraid to be the least knowledgeable person in the room.  It’s weird that now at the age of 41 I have a thirst for knowledge?

I was “ice cold” all day Sunday.  I didn’t sleep well Sunday night because I was so cold.  When I got up on Monday I was out long enough to have breakfast & crawled back in bed still freezing.  We usually have the heater turned off during the day & forgot to turn it on Sunday night.  I didn’t get up to exercise until after 1:20 pm on Monday.

Our light fixture is back up as of Sunday from last week when the roof started leaking. Now the house is really starting to resemble as a house and not a dumping ground.

I have a plugged sweat gland in my armpit at the moment, I’ve had one in the same spot 3 or 4 times in my life.  It’s much like a HUGE zit in your armpit.  As it gets bigger it gets very sore when I try to raise my arm.  Once it gets big enough it forms a white head to lance with a needle & drain.  I think the “first time” I got one was in the late 1990s?  I immediately thought “Oh my God, I have a tumor in my armpit!”

Monday was not new guitar day for me.  I’m assuming it’s because of Covid that the shipment of guitars to the store have been delayed.  The store’s website now says in stock on March 15.  Not much anyone can do about that.  This is what I traded in my guitar in for on my birthday in January.  It should arrive on March 15…

I watch stuff like this & just get confused.  I start thinking “Ah crapé, now I have to think.”  I swear he is the happiest metal head I’ve ever seen.  He’s REALLY happy all of the time so that’s nice to see!

I believe I’ve played a real Gibson Les Paul in a store before.  My first guitar I got on my 21st birthday was a Les Paul made by a company called Tradition & its great!  They’re typically a heavier guitar at around 9 pounds.  The weight never bothered me since I didn’t know anything different.  I played my Les Paul all of the time.  I used my Epiphone Explorer live 3 times, then one song every show because it was in a different tuning.  When I think of an electric guitar, the shape of a Les Paul instantly pops into my mind.

I have a hacker watching EVERYTHING I do digitally, I haven’t been receiving the vast majority of my Facebook notifications.  So I don’t have much pop-culture stuff to put on here & no big updates on my cancer.  Knowing this hacker aka someone with WAY too much free time, I’m almost positive this will be deleted from the post.

This hacker has only done stuff to me as far as I know?  I don’t get many Facebook notifications, my www.youtube.com feed is screwed up, my website is not working, I can’t share posts, files disappear, I get weird friend requests from strangers, etc.  I’m not sure what this person wants from me and I likely don’t have it.  If they want to mess with my stuff so be it.  I just hope EVERYONE reading this is left unharmed.

“Evanescence” has an album coming out on March 26th called “The Bitter Truth”.  I’m more intrigued by this album, than having a desire to buy it.  Hello streaming!  I only have 3 of they’re albums.

People my age know who they are, this was a radio hit on rock radio in 2003, from their debut album released in March of that year.

A little bit backwards today.  Got up & Kim saw that our roof was leaking right through one of our new light fixtures directly on to her keyboard & chair this morning.  Kim thought it was water running through or counter top garden that grows a bunch of herbs.  If only that were true.  The light fixture will come down for a few days, Kim’s off work for the morning & I’ll exercise later on today.  Kim called our building manager, he called the guy that does work on these types of problems, and they’ve already been in the attic.  Let’s hope the rest of the day gets better!

As if this guitar wasn’t expensive enough!  They shot up in price this week.  Before the price went up I’d still have some cash after tax next year.  Now I’ll be short next year.  I’m still getting it, it’ll take longer than I was planning on though???

Got to sell my Epiphone Les Paul 7 string.  I realize now that I’m not a 7 string guitar player.  I wanted it to play progressive metal stuff, that’s not me.  My plan is to sell it to my brother & put the money towards the S2 McCarty 594 now.  I didn’t even know he was looking for a 7 string?  Even with that sale, the money I have saved & what we can save after we put $5000 each away for our retirement savings, I’ll be short of the full price.  HOLY F.O.M.O.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This pushes back the purchase of the Schecter Tempest https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

Both of those guitars will take 6 months to get here once I order them & the S2 McCarty 594 is first up, likely next year at some point?  My hollow-body “Squier” Starcaster should be here next week!

20 years ago I’d go into a music store to play a guitar before I bought it, now you order & buy it to try it?  Online is VERY convenient, but not always the best option in certain scenarios.  I used to have very little idea as to the specifications of a guitar was, now that’s what I look up & research on the interweb before I buy a guitar?

I’m VERY confident with my choice for the S2 McCarty 594 & the Schecter Tempest!  Both of those are must have for me, and that will be the end of my guitar shopping spree.  Those 2 are my endgame.

I’ve thought about looking for a relatively inexpensive guitar with an HSS pickup layout, but I’m not convinced that I want to buy one.  I’m on the fence about that purchase.  The HSS pickup layout is explained in the video below….

I’d love to get a “Paul’s Guitar” SE, but I really don’t need it.  SE model because I’m not going to even dream about spending $5000 or more on a guitar.

Yes, I play guitar for multiple hours a day.  I have a small breakfast ASAP, exercise, shower, and post this while having a small snack, then I play guitar.  Stopping only to eat and then when Kim’s done work or if I need to get supper started.  This is what I’ve been practicing….

…among too many other songs!  Now that I have more than 2 electric guitars I can play stuff in different tunings without having to re-tune a guitar every time!  There is often some “Alice in Chains”, more “Pearl Jam”, “Foo Fighters”, “AC/DC”, “Megadeth”, “Metallica”, “Queens of the Stone Age”, “Soundgarden”, “In Flames”, “Audioslave”, “Led Zeppelin”, etc.  I’m VERY fortunate to have what I do & I get to spend my time with Kim.

We ended up watching “The Flight Attendant” this weekend on the Crave streaming channel.  It was different but still binge worthy, 8 episodes in total.

We both thought it would be a movie, but it killed time for us over the weekend as a series instead.

Kim’s thinking of not moving next year.  Our place looks REALLY good now and there never seems to be a wheelchair accessible place on the market in Regina.  What sucks about that is that we don’t have a spare bedroom.  The upside is I don’t have to wrangle Brewster & disappear for a viewing.  I’m done shopping for guitars but nobody will believe me.  Kim’s thinking we won’t be able to afford it, but who knows?  That’s the only situation where I hate being in a wheelchair.  All of the other stuff I’m fine with, I just hate how it affects other people that I love.  Not fair to them!

This is no joke!  Here’s “Foo Fighters” covering “The Bee Gees”.  If you have time watch the interview with Dave Grohl after the song!

I’m pleasantly surprised at how much I like the new album by “The Pretty Reckless” and “Matt Cameron” drummer of “Soundgarden” & “Pearl Jam” did a really good job as producer!

I don’t know why, but the stand alone singles from this album just don’t work for me.  As an entire album they seem more than OK though, & I prefer to listen to an entire album, not a playlist of singles.

So my friend has a Schecter & a REALLY nice hollow body by Gretsch and thinks they’re great.  Phil is all about the S2 McCarty 594 & Schecter as a Company & specifically the Tempest model for it being so original in the shape of the guitar.  I see these all as win, win, win situations…hello F.O.M.O. you’re back. https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

These purchases will be much slower than last year since we’re still spending some cash on renovation stuff, my RDSP, and Kim’s RSP.  I’ll get the Squier by the end of the month, it’s already paid for.  The S2 McCarty 594 is next on the list & will be next year or the year after, followed by the Tempest when we have the cash?

When the hollow body Starcaster gets here, Kim might let me play guitar while were watching TV?  She complains that my acoustic is too loud, but she’s ALWAYS on here cell phone while watching TV?

Just for fun I checked out the American price on the S2 McCarty 594 on this VERY common website for guitar purchases https://www.sweetwater.com/ & yeah they’re $450 less retail in the USA.  I was thinking I should start selling my body for the S2 McCarty 594 but quickly realized I wouldn’t have any buyers?  Kim probably wouldn’t approve or she might become my pimp?  I guess 50% of nothing doesn’t add up to anything.  I may not have the cash at the moment but at least I know what I’d like to get.  I’ve come across 2 less desirable (maybe) backups for the Tempest, but nothing worthy of the PRS S2 McCarty 594.

We started dating in April of 2002, she bought me my “Dave Grohl” inspired, black Epiphone Explorer for Christmas 2002.  Last year for my 40th birthday she bought me the 7 string Epiphone Les Paul signature guitar by Matt Heafy.  Once the Squier gets here I will have paid for 2 ½ guitars myself.

Yes, each of these guitar links shown are exactly the shape, colour & electronics of the guitars I plan to order, pending something isn’t discontinued?

We started watching “Your Honor” on Crave Saturday night, I’m hooked

We finished watching the 8 part series Monday night, it’s REALLY good!

Kim had to run some errands before we got into “Your Honor”.  I watched the first 20 minutes of “Deadpool” for probably the 28th time, instant classic for me!

Donald Trump was acquitted…again.  I think the Senate Republicans have completely lost their morals.  In the end I don’t think it matters.  There’s still an FBI investigation pending, & if he’s not convicted of crime through that, I think 2 or 3 people died in the Trump fueled riot.  Maybe he’ll be convicted in one of those trials?  I see him tied up in court cases for some time, if not convicted in one of them soon.  If he tries to flee the USA, every Country has the right to build a wall & send the bill to Donald J. Trump.  I heard he has 30ish investigations involving him, something will get him in the end.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy any future albums by “The Pretty Reckless” so I started streaming the new album Saturday night, and I like it.  Singles didn’t do anything for me on their own but in the context of the album I really liked it!?  I ended up buying the album through iTunes.

Yeah, that’s Tom Morello’s guitar (Rage Against the Machine & Audioslave guitarist) he plays on this track.

The late Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang Van Halen preformed a song on Jimmy Kimmel Live from the album to be released in June?  Wolfgang also plays bass guitar in the band Tremonti.  Mark Tremonti’s solo project of Alter Bridge formerly of Creed.

Damn it!  Another album I might buy when it’s released!  Good grief, I’m trying to save up for my last 2 guitars!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Exercise total for 5 days.

500 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

300 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

1050 Crunches

1050 Leg lifts

300 Squats

600 Back flexes

Too much belly aching & whining on my part.  I’m getting out of this funk, it’s not cool down here!  I don’t have time to complain & whine about things not to my liking.  I was bummed out about the lights only that was my breaking point.  I have no clue as to what got me there?  It wasn’t the last 2 guitars (that’s just how it is) and it’s not being in quarantine (I’ve been living that way since July 26th, 2012).  I don’t know what got me to that point but I know I don’t want to be there!

I’m going to have to scale back my crunches & leg lifts to 300 a day instead of 350 a day.  I’m sore & VERY tired.  Everything else will stay as is.  I also said I would pass on saving for the last 2 guitars.  Screw it, I want them & they’re worth the years of nothing else for me saving for them even if the first one is 4 or 5 years away.  I put in the time & effort to research the crap out of them & I like what I read & heard.

GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE BLUE BEAUTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Well, I want them both, but this guitar comes first, before it goes out of production!

This guy is a guitar store owner & a guitar technician in Arizona.  He ended up selling his $3800 Core model for the $1800 S2 model (American prices).  That’s part of the reason I won’t purchase a Core model, along with the price & many other factors.  Kim calls him my “man crush” since he’s always on my screen.  My guess as to why it weighs less?  It has 2 cuts of wood from it instead of one like a Les Paul body, maple & mahogany are heavy types of wood & commonly found in Les Paul bodies & less depth on the maple top as well.

https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

If one’s out of production by then, I’ll get the other.  If they’re both out of production we have some money saved.  Both will take 6 months minimum after I put down a deposit & order them.

I am super excited for my trade in guitar at the end of the month!  I couldn’t care less that it says “Squier” on it!

I always say there’s someone stopping me from achieving something.  I finally figured out who that is.  IT’S ME!  Nobody else.  I need to allow myself to accomplish something & get out of my way.  I’m doing a hard reset on 2021 and hopefully that will solve many problems & remove the road blocks for me that I’ve put in my way.

I’m a little different, I like pineapple on my pizza, raisins in butter tarts, I’m fine with oatmeal raisin cookies as long as I know they’re not oatmeal chocolate chip, I’ll take broccoli over cauliflower ALWAYS, I don’t like potatoes, I don’t like whiskey or rye.  I’ve seen “Lamb of God” & “Boney M” live and enjoyed them both, I LOVE seafood, I am not loyal to any particular brand name, GMO or non-GMO I don’t care, I’ve voted 3 times in my 41 years on earth in Canada & I’ve voted for 3 different political parties, ever since I saw “Silence of the Lambs” Anthony Hopkins freaks me out, despite my fear of Hannibal Lector I REALLY enjoy crime/murder shows such as my current favourite show “Prodigal Son”, I don’t agree with censorship if you’re over the age of 18, I shave in the evening, etc.

Most guitar players will say something to the tune of “I don’t want a Gibson?!”  What do they really think though?  “Those Gibson guitars look pretty cool, I should get one!”  I’d get one if they weren’t over $3000 for a decent one in Canada.

I realized this week that I don’t play my acoustic guitar enough.  To “remedy” that problem I picked 2 songs that I used to play a LOT and I’ll finish relearning them, plus a song my mom wants to learn on her acoustic guitar.  I’m gonna fully relearn these two songs….

Played & sang them before cancer, nothing stopping me now but my own laziness!

This is not the song my mom wants to learn, but it is titled “Remedy”

My mom wants to learn this, so I’ve got my chord changes up to speed now.

Donald Trump doesn’t want to be compared to Richard Nixon.  Fair enough, Nixon knew when to resign.  How about we compare Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler?  Trump didn’t kill anyone, he encouraged others to do it for him.

FANTASTIC new album from Foo Fighters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did a guitar return & guitar purchase for my birthday.  The new guitar won’t be in stock for a few weeks though.  I returned the Epiphone DC Pro, the guitar that looks like a PRS for the Squier Starcaster Hollow body ‘Classic Vibe’.  The Indian Laurel fret board & the pickups weren’t doing anything for me on the “Wannabe” Epiphone I bought in December.  “In the end” I saved some cash because a “Squier” Starcaster & the “Fender” brand doesn’t make them anymore.  Sound clips seem great though, can’t wait for the end of February!

I returned this exact model of guitar….

https://www.epiphone.com/Guitar/EPIUHU51/DC-PRO/Faded-Cherry

…in exchange for this exact model of guitar

REALLY excited for this to arrive by the end of February!

I’m saving up for this guitar which I recently realized I’ll be able to order and make a deposit for it in November of 2023 wait 3-6 months & pay the full amount when it arrives, if they still make it by then?  It’s  going to take a while since I’ve got to save $5000 a year for my RDSP until I’m 50 & can’t touch it until I’m 60.  This my “bucket list” guitar.  The other guitars I’ve purchased were not terrible purchases in any way.  I’d really like to get the Schecter too, but now I realize that it likely won’t happen since the purchase is “so far away”.

Might as well just see what’s around when the time comes or I might just forget the whole idea after the S2 McCarty 594 & put money towards more responsible things?

https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

The S2 McCarty 594 & the Schecter Tempest would close the book for guitar purchasing.  I REALLY don’t want to shop for guitars anymore.  I know what I want & I have a goal.  I might have to start selling my body, although I don’t think I’d have any buyers?  If Schecter discontinues the Tempest body shape completely, I’m out.  There are other Tempest shaped guitars on their website that I’d consider if this particular one is discontinued.

I had 1 beer Friday night & I was WIDE awake at 5:00 am Saturday. I went with Kim & Brewster since he had a trim at 8:00 am that morning.  I bought 4 beer so I had 1 more late afternoon on Saturday & slept fine that night.

We picked up our light fixtures for our renovations on my birthday as well.  The bank is going to think we’ve been scammed!  A return, a purchase, a deposit, a transfer, another purchase, & a smaller purchase in one day, we never do that much stuff in one day!  Our place looks good with the new paint & the lighting will make another BIG difference.

Finished the day with ordered in Greek food from “Opa!”  Watched the movie “Palmer” that had Kim & I crying at the end because it was so good, & Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

I was crying because I want the opportunity to be that type of father, Kim was crying because she saw me tearing up!

I was off to my parents’ place on Sunday to play guitar through my brother’s new amplifier that he won in December, so I could hear it at a louder volume than in our condo or his.  Nice to hear my guitar through a REALLY good amplifier.  He won a ‘boutique’ amplifier in a free Christmas give away in December.  I think his plan is to record & practice/rehearse with it.  Too valuable to sound check at a venue then leave it unsupervised for a few hours before a show.  I agree with owning more than one guitar amplifier in this scenario, there are people that use multiple amplifiers to get different sounds so I guess it’s whatever works for the individual.  People say I’m off my rocker hoping to own multiple electric guitars and one acoustic guitar, oh well I guess I’m nutz!  I’ll have 6 very different electric guitars at the end of the month, if you think that’s too many then you’re likely flabbergasted at the thought of 8.  They’ll each have a different shape, sound, colour, & tuning.  My acoustic, S2 McCarty 594, Explorer, maybe the Starcaster coming at the end of the month will stay in standard tuning since they sound so different.

I’ll never tell you what to listen too.  So I hope this dispels the myth about angry metal fans!

I believe it’s more due to an individual’s preference more than anything!  The metal I listen too just skims the depth of what’s out there.  There’s at least a dozen genres of metal & they all have multiple sub-genres.  Metal fans for the most part are just as picky as the next music fan.

Entered another 2 free lotteries for guitars that were given away this weekend on www.youtube.com but I didn’t win again.  What would I do if I won a guitar give away?  I’d offer it, for free, to anyone I know that plays guitar “I know what I’d like, would you like this?”  If there were no takers out of the 12ish people I’d offer it to, then I’d sell it or trade it in for something I want.

Kim’s childhood friend that was in an explosive demolition accident is home now.  He lives in Kim’s home town about 30 minutes from Prince Albert & 1:30 hours from Saskatoon.  He’s paralyzed from the waist down & now the hard/frustrating part starts for him.  He’ll either be going to Prince Albert or Saskatoon for physiotherapy & I’m sure they’ll be doing renovations to their house or moving.  I believe he & his wife have one child with them around 3 or 4 years old & two adult children?  This event REALLY hit me hard.  Our injuries may be different but they’re both life changing events with future uphill battles.

PLEASE HELP THIS FAMILY OUT BY DONATING ANY AMOUNT TO THEIR “GO FUND ME” PAGE?  They’re still over $20,000 away from the goal amount.  GO TEAM GO!

Yesterday I exercised, I was cold & really tired after so I crawled back into bed.  Today I got at 5:30 am & feel great after my exercise now at 8:00 am!

1050 Leg lifts

300 Squats

I’m going to stop writing this stuff at the end of 2021 or one post into 2022.  I’m getting pretty bored of writing this stuff.  I live it & regurgitate it to you & I’m pretty “simple” to begin with.  Eat, exercise, eat, shower, eat, play guitar, eat, play more guitar, have supper, watch TV, play guitar, sleep & repeat.

I’ll buy the PRS S2 McCarty 594 a soon as I have the cash.  When I order the PRS S2 McCarty 594, I’ll have to wait at least 6 months for it.  Then save and repeat but the wait might not be as long?  I’m excited to get any guitar but when I have the money (in a few years) & order this guitar, it’ll feel like another level!  I’m not undermining the importance and flexibility of other guitars I own, but this PRS S2 model is said to be THE guitar in the PRS S2 line!

After a TON of thought, the Schecter Tempest, although I REALLY liked the majority of what it offers, might be too similar in sound with a few less features compared to the McCarty 594.  I’ve also realized that I’m not a huge fan of the Stratocaster body shape, so as I was searching throughout last week & this gem kept showing up & won me over with a MUCH more different sound & MUCH lower price tag (less than $650 after tax), despite this purchase being many years away.

Go ahead guitar gear heads, it says “Squier” instead of anything else.  I’m not paying a ton of cash for a bigger brand name.  I’ve got a Fender & a PRS S2, good enough for me! Hopefully the split coil on the McCarty 594 is as good as they say.  A full on hollow body will be completely different from ANYTHING I have and be a great ending chapter to my guitar purchasing…if it’s still around.

I tried to force ‘guitar mojo’ on a Stratocaster, but that never works.  Had to be exactly what I wanted because I don’t want to shop for another guitar.  Guitars give me FOMO, fear of missing out, since I don’t have a disposable income for anything let alone guitars, so if they go out of production before I save the money to buy it, I get kinda sad.  I guess these purchases are more of a hopeful occurrence in the future.

Other than it being very cold in Regina this week, it’s been a good satisfying week of exercise.  Some ‘communication breakdowns’ getting all of my refills from the doctor to the pharmacy, but we got it figured out by the time I needed everything.

The Covid active cases are on decline throughout the province of Saskatchewan since January 12th.  As per the restrictions, nothing changes until further notice on February 19th.  I guess that’s fine, I would prefer tighter restrictions but I’m not a politician?

As I’ve said many times before, I really watch a miniscule amount of TV & I missed “The Ellen Degeneres Show” on her birthday show.  New DVR, so I don’t know if it was me, a user problem, or if something went wonky with the DVR box?

Right now I’m playing a handful of songs by “Pearl Jam”.

I’m continuously running through these “Stone Temple Pilots” song as well & other stuff too.  Keeps me busy.

The music I like is mostly from the 1990s, there’s usually some “Soundgarden”, “Alice in Chains”, “Rage Against the Machine”, “Audioslave”, & always “Foo Fighters”, etc. being played on guitar here.  Then as far as a little bit of metal goes “Metallica”, “Megadeth”, “In Flames, “Trivium” and eventually some “Lamb of God”.  For the 7 string it’s “Trivium” a dash of “Dream Theater” and I like coming up with stuff on the 7 string.

We’re watching TV Thursday evening.  Kim picks out a documentary & instantly grabs her cell as usual, & it drives me nutz!  I said to her, as I always do “You’re not even watching your show?”  I get the usual reply from her “I’m listening”.  Then I caught her with “But the show is subtitled and in Swedish?”  BOOM!

April 30th marks the 3rd album titled ‘Typhoons’ from “Royal Blood” who released a video for the title track!

It’s only Saturday & I’ve been playing my 7 string only.  I finally got it figured out.  I was using it just to learn songs, I only learned a few simple 7 string songs.  I’m just coming up with my own stuff and thinking “Ooooh, I like that!”  I took a break, at 4:30 pm, to play some other guitars & help Kim put our living room back together.  Then more 7 string action!  I did learn a “Dream Theater” riff, not the entire song.  I’ve never been or tried to be a progressive metal player, or a student at the Berkley School of Music like “Dream Theater” or “Big Wreck”.  Had to make the 7 string work for me, although this was fun to learn!  Kim was still putting the living room together on Sunday.  It’s usually better if I stay out of the way with my wheelchair.  So I came into this room and spent the entire day playing & practicing guitar, it’s what I spend my free time doing.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to own this Schecter guitar, there’s nothing I don’t like about it!  Kim asked me how many tunings there are for a guitar last week.  Well there’s typically 6 strings on a guitar with the musical alphabet of A-G sharp.  This guy explains tunings better than I could.

So in the video he covers down tuning & drop tuning.  I like to play in open tunings, different standard tunings, flat tunings, a fusion tuning, & a very small handful of alternate tunings.  My 7 string will stay in flat tuning for a 7 string, and anything can easily do a drop tuning.

The ultimate guitar tab site lists 19 tunings for 6 string guitars.  Then you have baritone & soprano guitars, well as 7, 8, 9, & 10 string guitars.  Anything beyond one 7 string guitar is a little much for me.

I’m no Ian Thornley, Jimmy Page, Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Kim Thayill, Dimebag Darrell, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, etc.

https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

I’ve seen and played a TON of other guitars.  I pretty much stumbled on to the Schecter Tempest, it called out to me & said “Please take me to your home???”  If Kim has taught me anything, it’s to listen, pay attention, and act!  So I’ve listened & paid attention, now I just need to shake Kim upside down & rummage through the couch to see if there’s guitar money hiding somewhere for the Schecter, PRS S2, and the Squier.  I’m pretty sure Kim’s pockets aren’t that deep & we haven’t had anyone rich or famous over because of Covid….yeah, I’m gonna go with Covid on that one….this has NOTHING to do with the fact that we don’t know anyone rich or famous at all.

I remember seeing a wall in a warehouse full of the guitars for “Pearl Jam” in a magazine.  There had to be at least 70 guitar cases in that photo.  Each guitar case had a piece of tape on it with the tuning of the guitar inside.  If you ever see “Big Wreck” live, there’s a guitar rack or 4 with 15 different guitars, you can usually tell how many songs they’ll play if you can count the guitars on the rack.  I think they have one song in standard tuning, 2 songs in drop D flat, & one in standard flat over 6 albums.  When I was younger (20s) I tuned my guitar to an open “C” tuning, I learned the intro to one Big Wreck song, just after I started playing guitar.  It took me a week to figure out the intro, I was not so SMRT.

This Schecter is cheaper to purchase than the pretty blue PRS S2, but it just wouldn’t be the same.  I grappled with that a LOT last week.  Kim even liked the Schecter guitar, that’s rare, she never makes a positive comment on ANY guitar.  My dream guitars (PRS Core models of Paul’s Guitar, Mark Tremonti PRS Core & Dave Grohl’s DG-335 by Gibson) are beyond the realm of possibility for me.  I’ve been thinking about the Schecter for too long to just dismiss it.  There’s always another Squier Stratocaster, they aren’t as appealing as this one is to me, but I personally don’t value any Stratocaster as much as I do the Schecter Tempest.  I’ll buy the PRS S2 McCarty 594 followed by the Schecter Tempest.  In the sound clips I heard, the Schecter coil splitting actually seems to make a “sonic” difference.  I’ve been told it’s a healthier hobby by a friend of mine that plans to buy a nice BBQ grill.  It may be true, but Kim disagrees, as far as finances go.

This Squier is not a traditional looking Stratocaster while being under $700 even after tax, with stuff you don’t see on a guitar under $1500 retail.  The shape, wood & 3 single coil pickups are the only traditional aspects of this Stratocaster.  The colour, pickup configuration, roasted maple neck & fret board & a flatter fret board than I’ve ever seen on a Fender or Squier model, & painted headstock are all stand outs on this guitar.  If I wanted a Squier, I could get a Squier for $349 or even $250.  I know I’d prefer the Schecter.

I’m really tired of shopping online for different guitars.  I have no plans or desire to continue researching & buying any guitars, EVER.  I don’t like shopping in person or online.  This decision comes as a complete relief for me.  I guess I also saw the Epiphone Prophecy series before any final guitars, but they didn’t interest me.

I don’t want a guitar to go untouched for more than a week or ½ a week, which is VERY achievable right now!  I’ve probably passed this point already to most people, but I don’t want to come off as greedy either.  That being said I spend VERY little money on anything else now other than $5000 a year until 2030 for my RDSP that I can’t withdraw from until 2040.  I’m in the long haul for the PRS S2 as it is & a shorter but still long haul for the Schecter.  I’m just done looking into the specifications of any guitar.  I know what I want to buy & I don’t want to look anymore.

I know that I’ll be tuning guitars to other tunings, but at least they’ll be in the neighborhood of the same tuning.  I really don’t want my guitars to have the same “…colour & shape…” tuning, pickup brands, manufacturer, etc.

I torture myself watching videos like this of Core & Private stock models of PRS guitars that are $5500 & more.  This is an instrument store in the U.K. that I watch on occasion for gear demos of new products.  S2 line of PRS in Canada is a high enough price for me and most other guitarists.

I do find that I watch far less of this stuff now that I’ve decided on what I’d like to buy & what I already have.  I do enter a free lottery for a guitar if I come across something that I know any family members or any good friends would like, and of course are playing guitar.

I was thinking of selling something for a guitar, then I realized that I have nothing I would sell, other than 2 large bins of DVDs & Blu-rays that we don’t need to keep.  We did keep 1 ½ bins of our favourite movies & TV series.

I didn’t sleep much Sunday night & ended up sleeping in longer than I’d like on Monday.  Monday just after noon it was nap time for an hour. Woke up before 2:00 pm & played more guitar.  I slept WAY better last night after this decision of figuring out which guitar will bring me more happiness.  Probably not the best bang for my money, but better for me in the end.

I saw a survey on the local news here in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada around the time of Joe Biden’s inauguration.  The survey asked “Do you follow American politics?”  I laughed and said out loud “Yeah, it’s roughly 85% of your new cast!”

I haven’t listened to “Muse” in a long time.  I should fix that & eventually learn a few “Muse” songs on guitar.

I guess the singer for “TOOL”, “A Perfect Circle”, & “Puscifer”, Maynard James Keenan, got Covid in March & it has left him with lung damage.  I’m not expecting to see his return to singing now and we waited 13 years for the final “TOOL” album on their contract.  They did release 7 songs on their album, each song was over 7:00 minutes long, that’s nice.  I do prefer listening to a full album instead of single releases.  Although finding the time to focus on a lengthy album is getting hard to do.
