Pitiful 2 day exercise total; 200 pushups, 120 tricep pushups, 100 back flexes, 120 squats, 200 leg lifts, 100 crunches.

I fell asleep to “In Flames” the album “Come Clarity”

I exercised to “Rush” the album “Roll the Bones”

Tuesday I woke up with a sinus cold.  I didn’t have a cold on Wednesday, my “bones & joints” were sore, like aching, growing pains.  Took an extra strength Tylenol at bed time & woke up with no pain.  Did 4/6 exercises Thursday, no problem!  After my exercise on Thursday, I feel much better!

Arms are my exercises on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  The total is a 2 day total.  I find it more reasonable to separate the exercises to let the muscles rest for a day.

I’m not going to tell you what to do, I know most people have a job &/or kids just maybe try doing 10 crunches &/or 10 pushups each day if you have time?

If you don’t have the time or energy, that’s fine.  When I was working, exercise was very far from my mind.  I guess Kim & I went to “Curves” for woman exercise & across the parking lot I went to “The Blitz” for men immediately after work.  We didn’t go for more than 3-6 months in total.  On any day, whether we went to the gym or not, we’d flop down on separate couches & just be “exhausted”.

The Joyous Wolf do a spot on cover of “Mississippi Queen”

No, I’ve never heard of “The Joyous Wolf”.  All they have on iTunes is a single with this cover & another song.

I won’t share anymore metal music.  Here are 5 reasons people (Metal fans) hate “Lamb of God”

I’m a big fan of The Struts!!!!!!!!!!!!  They were on Jimmy Fallon this week.  If you missed it, here it is.  Muse was also on the show this week!

CANDLEBOX

Kim’s brother-in-law got me into them.  He doesn’t own the album “Lucy” so I avoided it as well.  They have 6 studio albums, 2 Greatest Hits compilation, & a live album.  I have 5 of 6 studio albums.  The self-titled album was their first release in 1993.  They release stuff, they’re just slow with the releases, like “Tool” just not as extreme.  Here’s a few songs from their last 2 albums….

I fell asleep to “Slayer” the album “Show no Mercy” followed by “The Watchmen” the album “Silent Radar”

I exercised to “Pearl Jam” the album “Vitalogy”

Weekly exercise total; 320 pushups, 600 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 270 tricep pushups, 80 back flexes, 300 squats.

Tuesday I did my pushups in sets of 30 & only made it to 120, Thursday I did sets of 25 & made it to 200.  Thursday I felt like I could do an extra set of my tricep pushups, so I did & hit 150 instead of the 120 I did on Tuesday.

Yes, I try to eat healthier, but I know I don’t eat healthy all of the time.  Weekends I know I’ll likely consume alcohol.  Long road trips I’ll probably have something full of sugar.  Football games we can take in unopened bottles of water only.  If the game is around supper time, I’ll have a burger & a pop.  If not a popcorn & a pop.  Special occasions, I’ll have what’s being served.

During the week it’s always the same thing for breakfast & lunch.  Breakfast is always a hardboiled egg, water, vegetable juice & a piece of fruit.  I usually have a black coffee after I shower.  Lunch is usually fish with lemon juice on it or a deli turkey wrap & water.  A snack in the afternoon is, rice thins & hummus, raw vegetables (no dip), an unhealthy bowl of cereal (multi-grain Cheerios, Honey-nut Cheerios, etc.) with skim milk or some yogurt.

Throughout the course of a day I drink roughly 1 gallon of water or 4 liters of water.  Then I pee a TON during the day & a few times in the middle of the night.  You’ve likely never seen a guy get into a wheelchair in record time.  If I have to pee, look out & get out of the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All food in moderation.  Most diets are not maintainable.  I wouldn’t go on a specific diet, but that’s just me.  I know I’ll run into stuff that don’t fit in a specific diet.  I’m not going to say “No thanks” at something I’d like.  I just control the amount of it that goes into my body.

ALICE IN CHAINS

This is one of the forgotten ‘grunge’ bands.  They were immediately thrown into the metal category.  If any ‘grunge’ were to be lumped in with metal groups, I personally would put Soundgarden in.  Who really cares what a band or artist is labeled as?  Do you like them or not?  I think that’s the only thing that should matter.  I quite like this group, only the stuff singer, Layne Staley, did with them.  Layne Staley overdosed on heroin.  It seems like most ‘grunge’ musicians loved that stuff, but couldn’t see that it could kill them or learn from what happened to the previous individual they knew.  This group has a ton of albums they released with Layne.  I’ll give you one song from each album or EP.

1990    FACELIFT

1992    DIRT

1992   SAP EP

1994   JAR OF FLIES

1995    ALICE IN CHAINS

That may not seem like a TON of albums but I have the 3 CD boxset, Greatest Hits, a live show, & MTV unplugged, & the newer albums that just don’t sound like ‘Alice in Chains’

I had to share this since ‘In Flames’ a Swedish group just covered it on a 4 song EP

Big Wreck covered Rush

“Oh my goodness there’s a band that sounds just like Led Zeppelin!”  Relax, no one is going to die or be harmed in anyway.  I like their music & I agree they do sound like Led Zeppelin.  Guess what?  I like Led Zeppelin too.  Dear internet, the more you complain about them sounding too much like Led Zeppelin, the more attention they get.  CHILL OUT!

Can you believe anyone had an issue with Marilyn Manson?  (Lil’ bit of sarcasm)

November 2nd, I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New TLC show I can watch with Kim & not yell at the TV………………so far.

‘The Catcher in the Rye’ & ‘A Long Way Gone’ are my 2 favourite novels.  I read ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ for English class in 1998 for English class! ‘A Long Way Gone’ I read in Boston when Kim went there for a week of training.

The entire reason I signed in to www.youtube.com I wanted to see this guy drain a swollen spider bite full of puss & blood!  That was gross, he just kept pulling a string of puss out of his neck for 3:00 minutes.

New song & video by Muse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New album in November!!!!!

I was playing the Chamber Choir I was in during high school, on my iTunes.  It would play one song & after each song I played, it wanted to play “Slayer’s” album “Seasons in the Abyss”.  Not what I was looking for at the time Apple.  My brother knew how to convert the cassette to an iTunes file.

New “Halestorm” song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Album Friday, July 27th.

I fell asleep to “U2” the album “Songs of Experience”

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

Monday I only did 3 out of 6 exercises, pushups, crunches, & squats.  Tuesday was my birthday aka I did nothing!  On Monday I was still recovering from Saturday.  No hangover, just stayed up too late.  Usually any time after 11:00 pm, is a game of Russian roulette for me.  Everyone left by 11:00 pm, but I stayed up until 12:20 am or so & wrote most of this!

I guess I’m old now & not as cool anymore.  I’m 38 & still feel (in my mind) like I’m 20.  I really don’t miss doing the jobs I did in my teens.  Especially being a “banquet porter” at a hotel.  Longest shift I ever worked was there 14 hours long.  That was a difficult job, strength wise.  All of those weddings, Christmas parties, ethnic nights, meetings, dances, etc.  That’s why I got so tired of hearing “one hit wonders” from the 90s.  Most nights there would be some event & weekends were a guaranty there would be at least 3.  Bartending, serving food, cleaning up & setting up meeting rooms for the next day, putting a banquet room together, all of that I did for far too long 16-20 years of age I’m guessing.  I already had to wear a tuxedo shirt & a bowtie for high school band & choir at school & then at work that night………….by the way, I REALLY don’t like wearing dress clothes.

You’ve probably never thought of who put 500 round tables in here for your supper & this dance floor for afterwards.  I never thought about it either, but it was a team of likely 20 people, & I was one of them.  I’d spend an evening shift going up & down the back hallway & heard this kind of stuff on repeat……..

How many times have you heard the “Macarena”?  Great multiply that by 50 & welcome to my life as a teenager!

I would hear those songs 5 times minimum on a Friday or Saturday night at work.  Then go home & watch “Much Music” & turn it off immediately if they were playing one of those songs.  I can tolerate them, but after the 3rd time it just became ridiculous!

I tried really hard to watch “The Grammy Awards” but it was mostly me thinking “Who’s that?  Why is this the cool thing?  Man, I don’t get the attraction to this music, it’s mostly disposable candy music I’ll forget tomorrow.”

Thank goodness for “Bruno Mars”, “Sting” & “U2”.  If you we’re hoping to see the rock & metal categories, they weren’t aired on the TV broadcast.  Foo Fighters won for best rock song & Mastodon won for best metal performance.

Bruno Mars may sample stuff, but he’s always entertaining!

I think this all points to the fact that I’m not all that hip to what the cool kids are listening to, & that I suddenly became old.

I didn’t see the last 15 minutes of “The Grammy Awards” & I’m pretty sure I didn’t need or want to.  Congratulations to those who were nominated & those who won.  I applaud you’re hard work, I’m just not your demographic for most of you.

Every front man/front woman wants to be Freddie Mercury on stage, but they’re not.  They’re themselves & fans just want honesty, so it works out for everyone.  I wasn’t in an extremely successful band or even a moderately successful band.  I figured, “They paid $5 to see us play, might as well do the best I can!”  If anybody saw us whether it was a free benefit show or if it was a $15 ticket to a Cabaret, they’d better enjoy their evening.

http://loudwire.com/top-hard-rock-metal-frontmen-of-all-time/

Are you a “Led Zeppelin” fan?  Have you bought the “Greta Van Fleet” album “From the Fires”?  It’s 8 songs that you could easily put on any “Led Zeppelin” album with upbeat tempos.

I made the mistake of watching some of the “State of the Union” speech last night, & I almost……

It doesn’t matter how many beer you have “Tom Sawyer” is one of the 3 radio hits by Rush that has never been enjoyable for me!

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should the Blue Jays have tried harder to get Christian Yelich?  Try?  Who says they went that far?  Anything not regarding Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should have been seriously considered.  The GM & the manager of baseball operations were told not to “blow up” the core players.  So I guess it’s the owner of Roger’s communications who really wants to irk the fans.  So far this has been an absolutely TERRIBLE off season!

http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/sportsnet-hot-stove/blue-jays-tried-harder-get-christian-yelich/

If you’re not a diehard fan of the “Toronto Blue Jays” at this point I’d ask that you please avert your eyes.  This season could be worse than last year.  If you choose to watch you’ll likely be watching mostly old struggling players among a few minor league players to fill other spots.

We didn’t do much Friday evening.  Kim was pretty tired after work.  We ended up sitting on the couch & watching whatever was on our DVR.  We also watched a show on Netflix called “The Toys that Made us” for anyone born in the 1980s I recommend it.  4 episodes, each an hour long.    The 1st is how/why “Star Wars” toys were made.  2nd episode was Barbie.  3rd was all about “He-Man”/“Masters of the Universe” & the 4th was all about “G.I. Joe”.  Cool documentary!

Between Friday evening & Saturday morning, Kim went shopping for dress clothes.  She found nothing at the high end stores.  After being home for a bit she went to “Winners” & finally found some cheap pieces to add to her work clothes.

She went out to a delayed department Christmas party.  I was home with Brewster.  She didn’t know if the house of one of her co-workers was wheelchair accessible.

Fair enough I’m not big on office parties anyways.  I’m still not a fan of meeting people for the first time in a wheelchair with an iPatch.  Which meant I can watch a stupid movie that Kim has declared never to be played in her presence!  I’d have had a rum & coke but I’m on antibiotics.  No alcohol for this guy!

I figured if she doesn’t like some of my movies & most of my music, I’ll double down on it.  So I watched a documentary on metal…..

Today is our day to get ready for the week aka Kim’s Wonder Woman & I do what I’m told which is typically stay out of here way.  I’ll cook my fish for the week & make my vegetable juice.

I can finally see a difference in my arms.  Even Kim can see a difference, so I’m not dreaming!

If we had the cash I’d say “Kim, where do you want to go?”  After getting our passports again.  Then I’d say “Fair enough, we’re spending one day in a suite in Toronto to watch a regular season Blue Jays game.”  She’ll pick some place hot I’m guessing & I really don’t like the heat.  Someday I’ll make it to Toronto to see a Blue Jay game.

Why not stay here?  Our suite hit +26C on Friday & Saturday, that’s great for 5-10 minutes, but from 10:00 am on is WAAAAYYYY too much for me.  I can’t wait for the summer, so I can stay inside & blast the air conditioning!  I wonder what temperature we’ll get today?

HAHAHAHA!  I love “This is Spinal Tap” a rockumentary/mockumentary!!!!!!!

I find very humorous that people go to see a comic book or sci-fi movie then trash it all over www.youtube.com saying that it wasn’t logical.  If you’re going to see a work of fiction or science fiction you need to leave logic at the door.  That or should they have a large warning saying “NON OF THIS EVER REALLY TRANSPIRED”.  Just seems off to me & I love stupid or serious science fiction movies.  Leave logistics out of it & be entertained for a few hours.

I fell asleep to “Rush” the album “Counterparts”

I exercised to “Stone Temple Pilots” the album “Core”

I ended up spending most of Sunday on the computer again.  If there are any double files, I give up.

I miss my hobbies.  I loved playing & singing in a rock band, something I always wanted to do after I graduated high school.  I was always a singer by default, since I could carry a tune & I didn’t own a guitar until I was 21.  Practicing my guitar now is not fun for me.  My brain knows what to do, but my left (fret board hand) refuses to listen to me.  So after maybe 10 minutes, I get more than frustrated.  Since there’s no baseball on at the moment, I should really hunker down & get 1 of my guitars & really work on it.

As with most things, I never really practiced guitar or singing.  In my head I’d say “Ah, good enough”.  I did get a bit better with each rehearsal or show.  I never really sat down & focused on singing or playing.  I guess there were a couple times I’d check out a song I liked, learn the meat & potatoes of it in 30 minutes & leave it at that.  I learned these songs pretty well though….

The guitar part sounds much more difficult than it sounds.

This along with the entire 2nd album by Foo Fighters & some of their 1st, 3rd, & 4th album.  I guess their 5th album too.  Then they were far too difficult to play & sing at the same time.  I also learned a few other songs on my own…….

I was good enough to fill in for Chris Messer’s band “Left Foot Louie” who played polkas, country, & rock as the older crowd were calling it a night.  When Chis asked me to fill in for Tyler, I had one issue.  “OK but, you have to do the leads & difficult stuff.  I can’t do that stuff.”

I practiced once with Tyler Wanner, Corey McDonald & David Kliman.  I was impressed that Tyler was impressed that I could play “Slither” by Velvet Revolver & sing it also.  How could I not be impressed?  He listened to the solo twice & knew it!  BLEW MY MIND!

Check out this documentary about hired musicians who play whatever is needed on an album or tour with big name musicians like Billy Joel, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, etc.  It’s called “Hired Guns” on Netflix.

I am a U2 fan.  I’m still deliberating if I should purchase their new album?  However I’m leaning further to saying yes to the dress/album.  Oh, how Kim loves her TLC.  Yet, I’ve learned nothing.

I never really anticipated a new “System of a Down” album

Lead singer, Josh Homme, of Queens of the Stone Age, kicked & injured a photographer during a recent show.

Will this have any effect on my issue with iTunes at the moment?

Why do the Toronto Blue Jays have to wait for somebody else to make the first move?  The home run leader from last year just got traded to the N.Y. Yankees, & they’re in the same division.  The Yankees just added a 59 home run hitter to their lineup, move!  If nothing happens, say “Goodbye” to most of your ticket buyers, then sell the team that nobody will want.  They have needs not wants.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-dont-feel-pressured-rush-deal-weak-starting-market/

If the Blue Jays can dump Troy Tulowitzki at short stop & get Machado to join the team at short stop, I’m all in.  I wouldn’t let Josh Donaldson go if possible, he’s a late bloomer, & a good one!

WEEKLY EXERCISE TOTAL/MORE OF MY CLASSIC ALBUMS

MONDAY IS A CANADIAN HOLIDAY!  IT’S EITHER NOVEMBER 11TH OR THE FOLLOWING WORK DAY AFTER!  I’LL CATCH YOU MONDAY.

I don’t want to overload you with links, pick what you want to know about & feel free to skip the other stuff.  The www.youtube.com links are there for a point of reference if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

I fell asleep to “Our Lady Peace” the album “Happiness is not a Fish that you can Catch”, “The Tragically Hip” the album “Trouble at the Hen House”, “Led Zeppelin” the album “Physical Graffiti”, & finally “Dream Theater” the album “Black Clouds & Silver Linings”

I exercised in silence today.  I’ve been having issues with my iTunes library, but may have it fixed today, I hope.  The guy I’ve been dealing with in the Apple customer service is FANTASTIC!  I’ve never been this impressed by any customer service person!  I’ve been working with him & the engineers at Apple for about a month.  He’ll call me out of the blue just to let me know he’s still working on my case.

500 pushups, 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 200 back flexes, 100 triceps pushups.  I achieved all of my exercise goals this week.  That always puts a smile on my face!

I could use a smile this week.  I’m getting stronger physically, which means I’m able to help out around the house more.  Kim is working herself way too hard, work & exercise for her boxing charity.  I try to get as much as possible done before she gets home, dishes, dishwasher, cooking, cleaning, etc.  Trying to do regular stuff at top speed gets me extremely stressed out!  By 3:00 pm I’m very hot/sweaty & tired.  I can’t tell you why or what I’m stressing out about, but I am.  Mostly it feels like there isn’t enough time in the day.

The reason I’m in a wheelchair is because I cannot walk without something to hold on to.  My legs work, I can get into our walk in shower after I carry my shower seat in there, I can walk with a chest high walker, I can reach the top shelf of our pantry by using the door frame to stand up, etc.  Our place has grab bars in each bathroom, & I have transfer polls I use to sit on the couch & to get into bed.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or just because I’m doing more stuff now that I’m able to?

November 11th is Remembrance Day in Canada.  A day when we take a moment to honour, thank, & remember previous veterans & current soldiers keeping us safe.  I think this year is what us forgotten Canadians really need!

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTINUE TO KEEP US SAFE & THANK YOU TO THE VETERANS & THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES KEEPING US SAFE!

THAT’S ALL FOR THE CANCER TALK FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This type of thing should happen at every public event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can’t tell you how onboard I am with this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.kerrang.com/the-news/60-people-thrown-out-of-a-perfect-circle-show-for-violating-no-photos-policy

Right at the door someone should send anyone with a cell phone back to their vehicle.  It happened to me years ago, & made total sense!  I had it turned off anyways.  You have to turn it off in a movie theater, why not a concert.  Have some self-control.  Take a picture & a video of your favourite song, then put your phone away.  If you can’t do that, leave it in your vehicle or at home.

No, I don’t listen to Marilyn Manson, but he makes a valid point here.

Paramore is actually selling cassettes online, odd.

https://store.warnermusic.ca/collections/paramore/products/after-laughter-cassette?variant=43380864844

When the Toronto Blue Jays start spring training I have a wish list for the team.  3 new everyday outfielders, new everyday short stop, and possible new 2nd baseman.  1st base, 3rd base, & DH can & should remain the same.  Biagini, Osuna, Tepera, & Ramirez all in the bullpen with others.  Estrada, Stroman, Sanchez, & Happ as starting pitchers.  If all of this is possible that would be great!  Any of the new players should have speed, bat left handed, & have a good batting average & on base percentage.  Mr. Atkins & Mr. Shapiro, please don’t put the fans through another 2017?

When Corey McDonald started SIAST shortly after me.  He showed me the path to what is now my favourite “Soundgarden” album “Badmotorfinger”.  I pulled out the “Superunknown” album, & Corey asked if I had heard “Badmotorfinger”, I hadn’t, so he lent it to me the next day.  Since then that album it’s my go to “Soundgarden” album.

After hearing that album once, I was hooked & bought it ASAP.  Corey then opened my eyes to “Pantera” & I got hooked on “Into Eternity” the album “Buried in Oblivion”

This was in the early 2000s.  I started SIAST in September of 2001, my 2nd week was when 9/11 happened.

I’m not crazy, someone else just praised “Batman vs. Superman”!  Others have seen “Justice League” & found it to be the best movie in the DC universe!

I have “Thor Ragnarok”, “Justice League”, & “Star Wars VIII” to see.  I see good times ahead!

I fell asleep to “Paramore” the album “Brand New Eyes”

I exercised to “Rush” that album where Geddy Lee sings super HIGH!!!  The album “Counterparts”

Each morning starts with filling Brewster’s dishes.  100 crunches, 100 leg lifts, 40 back flexes, 5 minutes of planking (rest periods not included), & 100 pushups.  Then I lay on the floor, roll over in complete exhaustion, trying to catch my breath & carry on with my day.

Tuesday I was tired & didn’t do all of my exercises.  No planking or back flexes, I just didn’t have it in me.

This week’s total is 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 500 pushups, 20 minutes of planking, 160 back flexes.

What inspired me to do all of this exercise?  I was doing some exercise, then I saw Kevin Hart on The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2014 or 2015.  Kevin Hart said he does 1000 crunches & 500 pushups every day.  That’s why I was doing 1500 crunches a day, then my back went wonky.  I was told to do 2 totally different things.  My chiropractor said I should just stop exercising & do the stretching he recommended.  I went to Kim’s massage therapist & she told me to dial my exercises back a bit but continue doing them.  I couldn’t move so I rested for 6 months, applying ice & heat to it.

Since I can’t do 1500 crunches or any squats for fear of wrecking my back, I’ve very slowly increased my pushups & added planking as Kayll recommended.

Before I exercise every day, I really am not looking forward to it.  I end up just staring at my exercise mat, & after 5 minutes, it’s time to get it over with & get to other stuff that needs to be done.  I don’t think I’ll be purchasing a gym membership.  I can do my stuff here, for free!  I save money that way, keep the membership money & stay at home to exercise.  I’d never go to the gym, because of a million excuses.  I might as well exercise here & save the cash.

THAT’S ALL FOR THE CANCER TALK FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOTHING BUT THIEVES!!!!!!

Gotta say I love this band!  They’re not metal, or anywhere near hard rock.  They just released their 2nd album titled “Broken Machine”.  I got their first self-titled album & binge listened to it.  I imagine you’ll either love this band or won’t touch them with a 10 foot pole.  The singer sings most of the songs in his falsetto or head voice.

There’s the first 3 songs from their recent album!  Here’s a couple from their first album.

I really like this band, but that’s just me.  His voice might throw you off though.  This could be like an issue with “Rush” & Geddy Lee’s voice?

Why does anyone need a $1000 phone?  Does it make phone calls?  That’s all I need, you gotta flip phone for free or $15, I’ll take one of those!  Texting, no thanks.  Does anyone actually TALK to anyone anymore?

It’s science, Trump won’t believe it.  Much like climate change is science but he opted out on that anyways.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders play in Ottawa tonight, & the Toronto Blue Jays start their final 3 games of the season in N.Y.  Sunday, I’ll be on the couch watching the final game of a forgettable Jays season!

The one time face of MLB, José Bautista, will not be back in a Blue Jays uniform next year.  The CEO & general manager did not pick up his option year for $18,000,000 next year.  I don’t think anybody will pick him up for that much.  If he lowered his asking price to $3,000,000 maybe he’d get 1 year contract.
He’s not the José Bautista that will hit 40 home runs, he hasn’t hit 30 home runs this year or last year.  He’ll be 37 in a month, I think it’s time to retire.  Only pitchers stay in baseball that long if they can still pitch well.
