Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend “In Flames”, “Aladdin”, “Trivium”, & “Lamb of God”

I’ll be checking my email & Facebook as usual & I’ll likely pop in with the odd post here.  My routine will be similar, but with far fewer posts here.  After Friday, December 20th, I plan to relax & enjoy the holidays.  Hang out with family & friends.  All while practicing on my acoustic guitar, still have to build strength in my individual fingers on my left hand.  The better you are on acoustic, the easier electric guitar is.

I don’t plan on straying too far from my regular food intake, just moderation around Christmas goodies.  I’m at a point where I’ve lost a significant amount of body fat & have gained noticeable muscle.  I’d like to keep that trend going.

I was going to lighten up on the exercise sooner than later, but I’ve changed my mind.  Better to keep things at full tilt for a bit longer.

Well I didn’t make it to my brother’s group’s (Room 333) show at The Exchange Friday evening.  A LOUD rock show.  My dad & I had planned on going but both of my parents weren’t feeling well.  Stayed home with Kim & watched some stuff on the DVR.

Kim struggled most of the day putting up the Christmas tree.  Pre-lit fake tree with a string of lights out on the lower half.  3 trips to a hardware store & she finally just went with a string that are a different shade of white.  I figure once the tree is covered in decorations it won’t matter.

Just need some Christmas lists from others & then we shop & probably do some baking!

We ended up watching the live action version of “Aladdin”.  We rented it from iTunes.  I think we should cancel our “Crave” streaming site, that we rarely watch, & sign up for “Disney +” ASAP.  We have “Netflix” & “Amazon Prime” I’d dump “Crave” in a heartbeat.  For the amount of time that we actually watch TV, we spend for more than we have time to watch.

Today I get to pick out the 37 layers I’ll wear to the outdoor CFL Western final with the Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

I wear shorts year ‘round if possible, I hate wearing full length pants, they drive me even further into crazyville.  I plan to come home after the game & peal down to shorts & a T-Shirt.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.

I don’t own this, it is a possibility for me in the future though.  We listened to it on Apple Music.  I put on “Finger Eleven” & Kim piped up instantly saying she had a headache so I changed it to this…

LANGUAGE!!!!!

Have you ever heard “Ronnie James Dio” play “Holy Diver” acoustic?  “Room 333” did it acoustic & live Friday evening.  Somehow it was good, different but good.

My father & I went to The Exchange Friday night to see 3/5 of my brother’s group members, Room 333, play acoustic as an opening act for Tyler Gilbert.  I haven’t been there in a long time.  The last time I was there I was in my 1/3 wheelchairs & still in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center.  My brother & Roque lifted me up on to the slightly higher level, so I could see the show.  I like going to The Exchange it’s not Cheers, but lots of people know who you are by name & never think twice about helping anyone out.

Saturday was quiet.  I woke up, asked Kim “What time is it?”  She replied “9:00 am”.  I reply “Are you not going to work today?”  She replies “No it’s Saturday.”  I don’t know what I was thinking?  Kim spent the day working on her photos/homework for her class.  I got up & showered, which becomes useless at this time of year, I was sweating profusely by 2:00 in the afternoon.  I watched Blue Jays first of 4 Spring Training games left before the regular season starts on Thursday.  Made my vegetable juice for the week & hardboiled eggs for us.  I also wrote down what we needed for groceries.  I felt quite energetic on Saturday despite sweating so much.

For Saturday evening we ordered from “Brown’s Social House”.  I had a burger & yam fries.  I’m still not much of a fan of that place, but EVERYBODY else is.

My younger brother turned 32 on Saturday.

Kim & I rented “Instant Family” from iTunes Saturday night.  A comedy about kids being adopted from the foster care program starring Mark Wahlberg & Rose Byrne.

This morning Kim went for a walk around Wascana Lake with Jolene.  I got up & showered.  Then went straight to the kitchen to empty the dishwasher & have some breakfast with some “Finger Eleven” playing on the stereo!  I’ll be watching Blue Jays baseball again today, tomorrow, & Tuesday.  Wednesday they’re off for a day, & Thursday is when the regular season/marathon of 162 games that end September 29th.  Blue Jays play the final 2 spring training games in Montreal on Monday & Tuesday.  Mitch’s birthday supper with the family this evening.  I think everybody gave him cash?  Mitch & Rachel just got a new born puppy that needs surgery to fix her heart murmur.  I think she is only 3 or 4 pounds right now?  He surgery will be in Saskatoon & quite expensive.  Also a week long including tests one day, then surgery, & 3 days to recover.  The breeders flat out lied about having insurance for this sort of thing.

Spider-man “Far From Home” can’t get here fast enough!

Season 3 of “Stranger Things” isn’t that far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is a Keto diet?  A fad.  Works for some people, does nothing for others.  My uncle’s on it & he’s lost a lot of weight, he looks like a different person from a distance.  My mom has tried it & wasn’t successful.  Eat fat to eat the other fat.  Remember the Atkins diet that was eat nothing but protein?  Another fad diet that didn’t work for everyone.

I’m almost sure I’ll buy the “Feed the Machine” album by “Nickleback”?  That will make 4 purchased albums & 2 that I’ll listen to on occasion.

DARON MALAKIAN & THE SCARS ON BROADWAY

Daron is the guitar player & 2nd singer for the metal group “System of a Down”.  Serj Tankian is the lead vocalist for “System of a Down”.  It’s very much like “Jerry Cantrell” & “Layne Staley” in the original line-up for “Alice in Chains”.  Sort of 2 singers in one band.

All of the members of “System of a Down” are Armenian.

Anyways, Daron Malakian has released 2 albums as “Daron Malakian & the Scars on Broadway” a self-titled album in 2008 & an album titled “Dictator” in 2018.  “System of a Down” has released 5 individual albums, 2 in 2005 that fit together as a double album.  There are rumours floating around that they might get together to record a new album, but I’m not holding my breath for it.  They do have tour dates in America that likely doesn’t mean anything though.  They’ve toured on & off over the years.

As for the Toronto Blue Jays, they can’t trade center fielder, I assume more because of his batting average?  They’ve already bought out 2 contracts to set the players free or cheap enough to trade early in the off season to a tune of $56,000,000.  Kevin Pillar will get $521,100 this year.  Next year he goes through arbitration expecting to make over $5,000,000.  Buy out his contract to make room for the 20 year old Short Stop Bo Bichette or a fourth outfielder Anthony Alford.

Blue Jay fans aren’t expecting much this year with so many players coming up from the minor leagues this year & Bichette played well enough to at least platoon short stop with the veteran they signed to a 1 year contract.  Bichette & Vladimir Guerrero Junior should both be in the major league in mid-April!  At the moment Blue Jay fans have no reason to buy a ticket for opening day on Thursday.  I’d go if I could afford to, since I’ve never been to a MLB game.  Out of 162 games, I predict them to win 60-70 games this year, I hope they prove me wrong.  To make the playoffs you need to win at least 95 games.  No playoffs for the Jays this year, lots of young players!

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you! Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

Friday night I went out to The Exchange, The Club side with my dad to see ‘Room 333’ play.  Good show, small venue for a full on hard rock act but it sounded good.  They have a 3 or 4 song EP coming out.  They do have an album on iTunes!  Seeing them live you also get to see drummer Chris Dimas playing drums like nobody else!

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/red-dragon/id1264904399

I love going to The Exchange to see bands, & people I haven’t seen in a looooong time.  That’s one of very few if not the only venue in town for original artists to play.  The last band I was in played there a lot & only 2 other venues that are now gone.  I do not miss hauling my guitar, amplifier, & speaker cabinet home at 2:30 am after playing for an hour though.  I’m old, I’d need a roadie now “I’m done, now get all of my gear home for me please, $20 OK?”  One of the last shows we played before I got sick was a benefit show for Telemiracle.  They raise money to help those in need of medical equipment.  They gave us $11,000 towards a wheelchair van for me that was $18,000.  It’s a full weekend of entertainment in Saskatoon or Regina for people to call in & donate to the cause.  I think we played 2 benefit shows, with all of the money going to Telemiracle.  I think the last concert I played was for Telemiracle, we hit the stage at 1:00 am.  Ugh, I liked playing to an audience but there were 16 people left at that time, including the bar staff & a sound guy.  The next day I go on to a post board to thank people for coming & I get a response of “Thanks, I was the guy on the left!”  I’ve played to 16 people & 500 people.  With the lights in my eyes it’s hard to tell who’s out there, might as well entertain whoever’s there.  Leave it all on the stage, then pack up your gear in the wee hours of the morning.

We were never rich or famous.  We just played what we wanted to hear.  No sense in having a hobby you don’t like!

My dad, uncle, & I made a trip to the north end of town to the Sobey’s liquor store today in the late afternoon, went back to my parents’ house to slap on some sun lotion & went to the Saskatchewan Roughrider game.  Our season tickets are on the East side of the field.  We were sweating/dying for the first 3 quarters since the east side gets a lot of sun, especially when the game starts at 4:30 pm & it’s +31 Celcius which is 87.8 Fahrenheit.  By the fourth quarter the sun had gone down enough that we were in the shade & we won!  It was a very entertaining football game!

I checked out the price of 18 cans of beer they sell at the stadium for $9 a can, but if you buy it at a liquor store it work out to $25 for 18 cans which is roughly &1.39 a can.  It’s a HUGE increase for profit in the new stadium but I’ve only had 2 beer for $5 each at the old stadium since the washrooms weren’t very convenient.  Now they’re easily accessible but the beer is grossly overpriced.  No beer for this guy!  Today my uncle bought us each a needed cold beer though.  We got to our wheelchair section & I immediately grabbed a bottled water out of our bag I was incredibly hot.

My uncle & cousins flew home today, & Kim gets home today as well.  Kim & her sister drove home by Prince Albert to help their aunt get settled into her new house.  She moved from Prince George in B.C. to be closer to family.  Her husband passed away from 2 heart attacks & I think cancer, while I was in the hospital.  I liked him very cool guy!

IF YOU’RE HERE FOR THE UPDATE, THAT’S ALL THAT I HAVE FOR YOU TODAY.

Nothing was mentioned about this earlier.  “Slayer” playing ‘Raining Blood’ on Jimmy Fallon!  WOW, I didn’t see that coming!  This was on the evening of Thursday, July 27.

Blue Jays are playing 3 games this weekend against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  After the 4 game winning streak against the Oakland Athletics I hope nobody got a false sense of them making the playoffs.  They still have 7 teams ahead of them for the second wild card spot.  Oakland came into Toronto with the exact same win-loss record as Toronto.  It’s nice to see a winning streak, but the 4 game winning streak didn’t really do anything for them.

By Tuesday I hope this team looks different!  Monday at noon Eastern Time is the trade deadline.  If possible I hope they get a pile of young prospects & a few younger current players.  If they’re able to dump 3 or 4 players that means they could take $60M or $80M off the payroll of old under preforming veterans.  There 6 players they have now that I wouldn’t even consider trading, 3 of them are in the minor league system.  From what I hear they’re keeping the old players with HUGE contracts & loading up the minor league teams with really good prospects if possible.  This won’t be like the trade deadline of 2015.  They won’t be a playoff contender until the 2019 season at the earliest.

I fell asleep to “”Royal Blood” their only album, then “Room 333” the album “Red Dragon”, & finally “Third Ion” the album “Biolith”

I exercised to “Chevelle” the album “La Gargola”

I’ve been doing my exercises as usual.  Just slowly building to the number of repetitions I’m hoping to eventually get to.  Right now I’m at 200 crunches, 30 pushups, & on Tuesday I added a back exercise Kim showed me.  You lay on your front & raise your arms & legs.  I hold that for a count of 5 & do that 10 times.  I’ve decided not to even attempt squats or leg lifts until my sciatic nerve is healed 100%.  My expectations of my exercise are much higher than I’m supposed to do.  I’m dropping the total of everything………………not what I want to do.  However, I’ve already reached the limit of visits to the chiropractor that I can claim for taxes until next year.  I’ve seen him quite a bit for this nerve nuisance.

I’m hoping to do 1200 crunches, 80 pushups, 80 squats, 80 leg lifts, & 20 – 30 back things a day.  It’s less than before but probably not low enough as others wanted.  Right now the numbers are varying.  Seeing what my limits are without doing too much.

As for what else I’m working on, I’ll give you the full deal on Friday.

I hope everyone is enjoying their free/rented music.  I’m now at 3 concerts I can’t afford to go to.  “Walk off the Earth” $71/ticket, “Ed Sheeran” $117/ticket, & “In Flames” which I think has passed already.  All of these were/are also out of town 2 of them are 2.5 hours away, the other was 8 hours away.  After we pay a crap load of money for the tickets.  We still have gas, food & accommodations to pay for.  Do musicians think we all have hundreds of dollars burning a hole in our pockets?

Yes, I buy my music from iTunes & then it’s mine, no longer a possession of iTunes/Apple.  I look at streaming sites & iTunes differently.  Apple Music (the streaming service) I see as an apartment.  You pay a monthly fee.  Great, what do you own?  Nothing, it feels more like renting to me.  They can evict you (shut down) whenever they want.  I use Apple Music to preview a band I’ve never heard before.  I’m not saying to use it as I do, that’s just how I choose to use it.

Kim just uses it as a radio.  Yesterday was the first time she actually “downloaded” an album to stream.

I pay a fee for every album I purchase from iTunes.  It’s mine then, I purchased it, if Apple wants to take it away, I’d consider that flat out theft!  I see it as making mortgage payments.  Sure I can be evicted but it’ll be much more difficult, unless I break the rules.  I think if they ever shut down, which could easily happen, I’ll get to keep my files, especially since I have them backed up on an external hard drive or I own some on CD.

I think “Royal Blood” may be announcing a preorder date soon?  I saw what I think is a new tune on their Facebook page.

Want to hear 21 live songs by “The Watchmen” out of Winnipeg, Manitoba?  Preorder “Live & in Stereo” on iTunes & thank me later!

Queens of the Stone Age are saying they’re done recording the new album?  They also said this in the late fall/early winter.

I’m pretty sure I heard a clip of Josh Homme saying he was done lead guitar & vocals months ago?

http://diymag.com/2017/03/28/queens-of-the-stone-age-album-finished

So many Alter Bridge fans like the album “Blackbird”, it’s good but highly overrated I find.  I’d rate it 5th out of the 5 studio albums they’ve released.  My list from worst to first would be; “Blackbird”, “One Day Remains”, “ABIII”, “Fortress”, & “The Last Hero”

http://loudwire.com/alter-bridge-albums-ranked/#photogallery-1=1

What I know for sure.  April 7th I’ll get the live Watchmen album & Pentatonix 7 song EP of covers.  May will bring the new Linkin Park, & June will bring the new Stone Sour.  Everything but Stone Sour, Royal Blood, & Queens of the Stone Age I have on preorder.  The last 3 have yet to release anything.

I fell asleep to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “….like clockwork”.  Guess who played drums on this album?  The name rhymes with Rave Roll?

I exercised to “A. D.D.” the album “Core” then “Alice in Chains” their Greatest Hits” the songs before singer, Layne Staley, died from a heroin overdose.

I remember Chris Messer telling me that the band I was with in university, should play “Man in the Box” my voice hadn’t completely changed from being a bass singer in high school yet.  The song was pretty difficult for me.

I exercise daily because I have to if I want to walk again.  I miss it when I’m supposed to be relaxing.  The part I really like about it is my rotation of T-Shirts that fit has grown!  Seems as though each week I can add another shirt into the mix.  This week started off with the addition of 3 T-Shirts.  That’s my wardrobe, concert T-Shirts & mostly shorts.

I really don’t like the heat!  Our windows face south so it’s always warm in here.  Even if the blinds are closed, even in the winter, it can get up to 89F or 28C.  Far too warm for me!  In the summer I can turn on the air conditioner to keep it at 22C.  In the winter I’m hooped?  I don’t even turn on the heat.  I did last winter & it kicked in 3 times, the rest of the winter it was really “hot in herre” even when I left the door open.  The heat from the sun kept it at a more than balmy 89F, 31C.  If we were going out I’d keep my shorts & T-Shirt on & bring my jacket with me.  I don’t wear my winter jacket much, usually a bunny hug/hoodie.  If you’re from Saskatchewan you know what a bunny hug is, if you’re anywhere else & say that, people look at you like you’re absolutely crazy!  That or on occasion in other Canadian provinces someone will say “So, you’re from Saskatchewan I assume?”

Yep, good times at Bushwakkers pub last night. My brother’s band, Room 333, was playing 2 sets of acoustic versions of their songs. It was a really great show! No cover charge & good beer. I forgot how good their beer is………………………………I wonder why? Nah, I only had 3 pints in 2 hours. I haven’t been in there probably 9-10 years. Good music always sounds better with tasty beverages!

They have an album before this one. Sorry, it’s not on iTunes though, only on CD at their shows.

I need to remember I’m not in my 20s anymore. I should be home earlier than 11:30 pm without alcohol. I’m really tired & I was really good at procrastinating today. I got everything & more done today. Now it’s almost 1:00 pm though!

REMINDER Kongos out of South Africa have a new album out tomorrow or if you’d like to have it tonight, it will be on iTunes at 12:00 am Eastern time.

Who gets to take an afternoon off to be at a baseball game at 4:00 pm eastern time in N.Y.? It baffles me that they have a decent crowd for games at that time?

So I was watching “The Ellen Degeneres Show” while she interviewed Hillary Clinton. They’re both tired of the campaign, who isn’t? At least when it’s all said & done they get to vote. As Canadians we just get to watch the 3 ring circus called Donald Trump until, hopefully November. If he gets elected I’ll be EXTREMELY worried! Face it, nobody gives a hoot about Canada, we’re pretty much known as that cold country above the USA. I don’t really follow politics at all, & I don’t vote. I’m not telling you who to vote for, I’m saying I’d vote for Hillary Clinton ASAP! If Trump is elected, I’ll suggest to Justin Trudeau that Canada should build a wall at our southern border & make the USA pay for it? Remember Trump, you’re “…really rich…”

I do like “Uno” which is ranked among the worst albums. Music is VERY subjective. To each their own!

Pretty good despite the lack of a 2nd guitar!

At midnight eastern time tonight the new “Tegan and Sara” album “Boyfriend” will be available for download on iTunes.

In Flames shared it……

Tremonti’s on the road

“Landed in Frankfurt! I have no idea how the crew is going to fit all of our gear into this tiny trailer, hope they are good at Tetris!”

Let’s see what the kid thinks of “Dust”

For what it’s worth I prefer “Cauterize” over “Dust” both are really good though, if you’re into this type of music.

Well, look at that another article, Q & A, with Mark Tremonti?? Who’d have thought.

First full length album available for preorder on iTunes. Release date of June 17. There is also a single & a 3 song EP on iTunes available now.

I went to iTunes to preorder this album. We now have an “Apple Music” account & now iTunes is screwed up again. I search for something I’ve bought in “My Music” & it takes me to the “Apple Music” site? How I wish Steve Jobs was still alive!
