Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 200 pushups, 600 leg lifts, 450 crunches, 150 tricep lifts, 450  squats, 300 back flexes.  Yoga & stretching for just over an hour on Thursday.

Let me “Break it down” for you!

3 days of 200 leg lifts, 150 crunches, 150 squats, & 100 back flexes. 1 day of 200 pushups, & 150 tricep lifts.  Then Thursdays are yoga & stretching for a little more than an hour.

I fell asleep to “Puscifer” the album “V is for vagina”

I exercised to “Devin Townsend” the album “Empath”

Apparently I won’t be seeing the doctor that tells me to “lose some weight” is not there anymore.  Our brother-in-law works on the servers for the cancer clinic at the Pasqua hospital.  It’s a long story that I haven’t heard as to why that doctor is not there.  I’ll be seeing a new doctor who’s been given my case.

Kim tells me that the reason I’ve had to continue with appointments is that it was because my previous doctor wanted me there.  More info for the story of how the chemo, radiation, & medication helped keep me alive.  I guess this is a double edged sword in some way.

It would be great if they got all of the info regarding what worked to keep me alive & help other patients & doctors with the entire story.  On the other hand I won’t have to deal with someone body shaming me once a year.

The body shaming didn’t bother me at all, I just found it odd & rude.  That was the only doctor that said that to me.  I graduated high school at 185 lbs.  When I went into the hospital I was 265 lbs.  I probably weighed 270 or 280 when I was released & kept eating garbage.  Right now I’m 230 lbs.  If I lose 20 lbs that would be great, any more than that, I’ll look like a bag of bones.

I’m 6’1” with a big frame.  That is the same thing for most of my relatives on my mother’s side of the family.  The majority of my T-Shirts fit me & I feel healthier since doing daily exercise & eating healthier.  I don’t really care how much I weigh as long as I feel good.  Losing 20 more pounds is more of a bonus than a necessity.

Trivium’s guess for the release of a new Tool album was WAY off!

I miss “Pantera” too.  I was late to the game.  They were all alive when I got into them through Corey McDonald in SIAST.  They were in different bands at the time though.

I don’t know if rock music needs/wants to be saved?  It’s there, just harder to find.

At every home “Saskatchewan Roughriders” game, I hear the song below.  It’s from 1987.  LIVE IN THE NOW PLEASE!

Sorry, Guns n’ Roses aren’t for me.

When you live in Regina, Saskatchewan & have only been to 3 music festivals over 20 years ago.  Not being able to see a festival sucks but it’s the norm in the middle of nowhere.  You’ll be OK Miami.

Today “Big Wreck” released only another single.  I was hoping it would be a preorder as well, it wasn’t.  I’m pretty sure they’re busy with the 2nd guitarist’s cancer though.  We’ve got 2 singles from the new album this new one first then the first single below it.  Much heavier than I’ve heard from them!

Right at the beginning I’ll admit that I know nothing about him.  Acoustic guitar player & singer.  I can tell you after a brief google check that he’s American.  His name is Matt Weddle, Obadiah Parker is his stage name.  I own 3 EPs, 5 songs each.  They’re all cover well known songs.  He has 2 original albums on iTunes, I haven’t heard them yet.  He does have a band but it is very rare to hear them on the EPs……

2008   THE TIP JAR VOL.  1

2014   THE TIP JAR VOL. 2

2016   THE TIP JAR VOL. 3

This EP is very tough to find any videos from.  He does cover this song though…

How long are the Toronto Blue Jays going to continue this “Socrates Brito” experiment going?  He’s one of the worst hitters on bad team.  If a player’s batting average is 0.077, they’re very lucky to be on any roster.  An average of 0.250 is just OK.  Are they keeping him there because he can catch a fly ball?

For me he’s just a guy taking up space when there are 2 minor league players knocking on the door to play right field.  Heck they have 2 capable right fielders now.  Brito plays maybe once a week.  They’re going to trade 2 of their top pitchers, but keep Brito?  I don’t think you’d get anything in return if they traded Brito.  I say just cut him & move on.

I exercised to “Metallica” the new album “Hardwired……………….to Self-Destruct”

400 leg lifts, 160 pushups, planking, yoga, 200 crunches & 80 back flexes this past week.

That’s 100 leg lifts, 40 pushups, 20 back flexes, planking, 100 crunches & yoga 5 days a week.  First thing I do when I leave the bedroom, then breakfast & a shower.

I just added the crunches on Thursday, 100 crunches a day.  The crunches had nothing to do with my back!  I know what caused it, I’ve had back issues since high school.  My wheelchair seat was over inflated & the squats always hurt my back a bit.  So I’m going to continue doing 100 crunches a day.  I could also just twist in my seat to borrow a pen & my back would go out?  That’s what happened in grade 10?

Kim had Wednesday off, so I took it off too.  I got in the shower while she went out to get coffees & cinnamon buns.  We sat on the balcony before it got too warm.  I can’t get out there in my wheelchair.  Kim has to help me, or I can crawl out if needed.  Came inside watched a bit of TV.  Kim went for a roller blade.  She showered, we watched a little more TV, and then we went to see “Wonder Woman” in the comfy recliners at the Southland Mall.  I don’t know where it came from but we had a movie pass that we used today!

I spent 1 day a week, for almost exactly a year being in the pool during my physiotherapy.  I can’t swim anymore.  I was lowered into the pool by what’s called a “Hoyer” lift.  It’s basically a crane for people who can’t walk.  Once I was in the pool there’s a rail all the way around the pool for me to hold on to.  I was able to walk & do some different physio exercises, all while holding on to the rail.  The pool is only 5 feet deep & it’s heated.  It’s quite a bit like a warm bath.  I would walk to each side of the pool holding the railing.  I’d float on my back with weights on my feet & I was to kick my feet during that time.  One leg is stronger than the other, I’d kick my feet & go in circles.  My therapist had me try a different walker in the pool as well, that didn’t work out to well.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

20 songs produced by Kanye West, that I’ve never heard?  Rap isn’t my thing.  His birthday was Thursday!

The songs “Madness” & “Dig Down” by Muse are done with an electric bass I have never seen anyone else use.

Cool!  Another great tune from the new “Royal Blood” album.  This & Big Wreck were/are my most anticipated album of 2017, until I found out Foo Fighters’ may have a release this year.  Royal Blood is not a metal band, if you’re worried about that.  The singer plays a distorted electric bass & the other member of the group plays drums.  That’s all, just the 2 of them!

What happens when, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, reacts to teens’ reaction of the new Linkin Park!  Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Everyone is marching, protesting & refusing to let him be President.  If America voted to have him as their leader, who voted for him?  Remember he still has, I think it’s 11, accusations of sexual assault against him.  I don’t know if he can be allowed in the White House as President until he’s proven innocent of those allegations?  A President can’t really do much unless other politicians agree for the same law, from what I know.  (There’s a good chance here that I have no clue what I’m talking about).  United States of America, I don’t think so.  At the moment it seems more like the Divided States of America.  A President leads you, you’re in a “Free” country.  Now, more than ever, is when America has/needs to come together.  Democrat or Republican, it’s every American’s country, & you only get one so treat it well.  Bring back the American dream!  Trump is worried about illegal immigrants, I don’t see that being an issue at the moment.  I think the only immigrants to worry about right now are the ones who want to cause an act of terror.  The rest of them are likely too scared to immigrate to the USA.

I’m a little scared here in Canada.  Whatever happens in America, eventually affects the neighbors to the north in some way.  That I don’t agree with but I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I can do about it.  “I would never wish bad things but I don’t wish Trump well”

Now the KKK want to have a victory parade for Trump.  OK, if he actually shows up, that’s another strike against him.

He’s President, hold him to his promises & watch him back pedal

Not only did the Jays lose on Wednesday, & they’re done now for the year…………………..again!  We had a second power outage last night?  2 days in a row.  At least last night’s blackout was only 20 minutes long?  Baseball season is done for me.

Goodbye Jose Bautista at the very least.  I hope somebody offers you $20,000,000/year.  I’m not a general manager, even a qualifying offer of $17,800,000 seems like too much.  He talks too much, can’t really back it up, & has become a notorious whiner throughout this past season.  The Blue Jays will look different next year, hopefully younger too?

Kim’s back has been really sore this weekend, even sore a bit at work on Friday.  We stayed home all weekend.  Kim’s been using my walker when she needs to get up.  She’s spent most of the weekend on the couch.  She tries so hard to be Super-girl.  I keep telling her to relax & that I’ll get whatever she needs.  It’s a change of pace for both of us.  A change as to who’s taking care of who.  I’ve done more this weekend so Kim can rest her back.  She’s still in quite a bit of pain.   Now that I’ve figured out how to do more, I intended to keep it up.

We had plans today, Kim just can’t do it though.  Her back is just too sore.

She slept on the couch last night, she was in too much pain to make it to the bedroom.  Today she’s laying on the laminate flooring.  I’ll be watching the 162nd/final game of the regular season for MLB today between the Toronto Blue Jays vs. The Boston Red Sox.

The Toronto Blue Jays in the month of April won 11 games & lost 15 games.  If that record was reversed to 15W-11L these last 3 games of the regular season in Boston wouldn’t be so crucial.  Every broadcaster talks about “meaningful games” in September.  The games in April mean nothing now?  Give me a break?!?

So now I’m living cancer free which is awesome! Those 4 & ½ years look smaller & smaller as time progress’. Can’t remember them nor do I really want to. Now I pay far more attention to my health. I eat much better than I did before. Sure I splurge like most people about 2 or 3 times a month or on the odd occasion we go out, which isn’t very often. The rest of the time I drink a mixture of fruit & vegetables I toss in a blender & have that for breakfast usually other than once a month that we go out for brunch. Lunch is usually a chicken wrap with a bit of grated cheese & Frank’s Red Hot. Supper is a wild card, usually chicken with Quinoa & wild rice in some form with some type of vegetables or a salad from Pita Pit or something along those lines. I eat less sugar filled stuff than I did before. Even my snacks are grapes, carrots or rice/pita crackers & hummus. 2 or 3 liters of water or a glass of cranberry juice to change it up a bit. If we go out, it depends on my mood, a salad or the tastiest thing on the menu. I exercise Monday-Friday for a little over an hour & I think we’ll be walking Saturdays & Sundays in our parkade with my walker & Kim holds me to make sure I don’t fall! I wish you all could meet her, she’s beyond AWESOME!

There’s no manual for surviving, surviving stage 4 brain cancer. I was told to exercise, especially my core muscles. So I spend roughly 1 ½ hours every morning exercising. My abdominal muscles are incredible, unfortunately they’re covered by a layer of fat. My mom suggested I try doing some squats! I’ve added that into my exercises. I have many exercises I can do here at home on the floor & stairs, walking & using the exercise bike in the condo’s “gym” aka a exercise bike & a treadmill.

Lazy weekend here. Friday night was Clear the DVR. Saturday I went with my parents to a virtual tour of the new football stadium for the 2017 season, came home & stayed out of Kim’s way while she cleaned. When she cleans it’s how normal people clean twice a year. Everything is moved, clean the spot where it sits & when one room has been finished she might put things back or usually most of them. When she cleans like that, I stay out of the way, she’s on a mission! Sunday has been quiet thus far & likely wont change!

February 5th 2008 will be a day I’ll have to acknowledge for the rest of my life. I wont celebrate it & I wont wish for history to repeat itself. This is the day I collapsed with stage 4 brain cancer. Oddly enough I had a flu for a week before I went to work that Monday. Sunday, February 3rd I had the worst headache I’ve ever had. Tuesday, February 5th I collapsed at work & that’s why this blog exists. It was suggested by my occupational therapist to keep people updated on my progress. I’m fine as long as I take the proper pills at the right time or else I wake up in the middle of the night.

Cover songs? I usually prefer the original. There is the odd occasion the cover is better. This first song I will always prefer the original.

Original followed by a cover which I prefer.

Risky to cover any “Pink Floyd” song!!!

I could go on forever showing different cover songs, I wont though here’s the last one though. I’ve got 60 “Foo Fighters” B-Sides, I’m guessing 40 of them are cover songs.

I like seeing a band play a song live than inspired them to make the music they make now.

This is the last one, I promise. The cover is no different than the original in this case.

If you like “Megadeth” at all, the new album “Dystopia” is great!

I had a request for more Grohl! I can do that! Here are some non “Foo Fighters” albums he’s appeared on or has done by himself, yes I have them.

All of the music & sent out to his preferred metal singers the album “Probot”

Out of print & not on iTunes “Tony Iommi” Dave Grohl sang & played drums on this song!

“Pearl Jam” released the album “Yield”, probably my favourite Pearl Jam album, February 3rd 1998. I was working with a tinsmith & his son installing A/C at a seniors home that summer. Living in the 21st century with all of these advancements we’ve made is not so hot. What really gets me is people see someone in trouble & the typical reaction is “I should grab my cell phone & get this all on video”! REALLY!?!?!? A few years ago we were at Tony Romas for chicken wings. When we left, I was holding my left over chicken wings on my lap. There was a lip at the bottom of the sidewalk wheelchair “ramp”. Neither Kim or I noticed it before. I fell face first on to the parking lot asphalt. Somebody, a stranger, rushed over to help me! HE OFFERED TO HELP ME! Wow! He didn’t pull out his phone to video the event, he made a fast decision to help me. I was fine & didn’t really need help. My parents had just arrived to pick us up. Sure I had some bloody spots on my face & my glasses went flying, I was fine. Kim & my parents helped me into my chair & all was fine. I’m still shocked that a stranger offered to help.

It’s crazy, screwed up world we live in with all of this violence over a “Holy war”? I’m not about to judge others on their religious beliefs & not all Muslims are extremists. If your God tells you to kill those who aren’t of the same religion, that’s an odd religion, which I don’t understand. Maybe just try to help the living instead of wearing a suicide bombers vest? Or forget about your cell phone & help someone in danger. As Ellen Degeneres says at the end of every show “Be kind to one another”!

“Jihad-(English pronunciation: /dʒɪˈhɑːd/; Arabic: جهاد jihād [dʒiˈhæːd]) is an Islamic term referring to the religious duty of Muslims to maintain the religion. In Arabic, the word jihād is a noun meaning “to strive, to apply oneself, to struggle, to persevere”.

Thanks www.wikipedia.com I still don’t get it?

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Pearl Jam” & “Foo Fighters” the albums “V.S.” & “There is Nothing Left to Lose”

Is headbanging dangerous? I don’t head bang at shows or when I was on stage. I bop my head lightly to the beat or just stand quietly & enjoy the music.

I’m not a fan of “Motley Crue”, but their book “The Dirt” was a very good read!

I did grab the new “Puscifer” album Wednesday. A solid album “Money Shot” released at the end of October. Still not “Tool” though. I guess there was 7 years between “Lateralus” & “10,000 Days”. ’99-2006. “Puscifer” has released 12 albums/EPs since 2006.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/puscifer-talk-fear-for-bandmates-safety-during-paris-attack-20151118 Sorry, I didn’t realize this was full of LANGUAGE when I posted it yesterday? It doesn’t have an effect on me, & I don’t really listen to the lyrics often?

Zoolander 2 trailer

18 years ago Wednesday “Metallica” released “Reload” & a lot of Metallica fans were still waiting for the 2nd coming of “Master of Puppets”!

Yay! Another “Rocky” film…..NOT! Kim’s big into “Rocky” we have them all right beside me, I’m not much of a fan, I’m sure we’ll get this new one.

James Corden with Justin Bieber doing some car pool karaoke!

I’m not surprised by this, he’s a good guy. He’s also the drummer for “Eagles of Death Metal” who were playing when the attacks happened.

His day job! (below)

News from bassist Robert Trujillo on the next Metallica album

I liked playing this version of this song, since it’s a cover of “Thin Lizzy”

Review on local band “Digital Doomzday” in German? Good luck.

Music venue in Paris will re-open

Maynard James Keenan (singer for Tool, A Perfect Circle, & Puscifer. As well as vineyard owner & operator) talks about band mate in Paris.

Can’t get into this Kelly Clarkson album.

Freddie Mercury biopic to start production next summer!!!!!

New Elton John album in February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 Questions with Ian Fletcher Thornley

Pentatonix added 5 songs to their Christmas album. Available on iTunes. This is one of them.

Songs I like, “Traveling Wilburys” Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan & George Harrison!

Interview with “Clutch” singer Neil Fallon

Great! Maynard’s releasing new material with “Puscifer” yet no new material from “Tool” since 2006. “Tool” is known for taking around 4-6 years to create an album, but this is getting ridonculous! In all fairness to Maynard, he says he doesn’t write lyrics until he has the music.

Don’t get me wrong here I love “Muse” but I think they should focus more on finishing the current tour & heading back into the studio. My expectations were EXTREMELY high for this album.

I don’t know much about “Bruce Springsteen” growing up, my father was a BIG fan of the “Born in the USA album. I like it too. Now “Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band” will be the musical guest on SNL for their Christmas show.

“Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats” different song inside the link!

50 alternative albums you NEED to own on vinyl? I have some of them on CD, some I have no desire to hear, & some I’ve never heard of. A few of them have the potential to be absolute classic albums for me!

“Finger Eleven” article

The more I listen to the new albums from “Finger Eleven”, “Trivium”, & “Lamb of God”, I tend to like them more each time & they started off being REALLY good!

Here’s a festival line up for next summer I assume in the USA. Nothing on the list I’d be heartbroken if I missed it.

I enjoy some Christmas music. Too early for me though. No snow on the ground yet. I think you can find this on one of “Pentatonix” Deluxe Christmas albums. They just added it.

“Eagles of Death Metal” on their show in Paris during the attacks

20 terrible debut albums by great artists

I’d have to add “Muse’s” Showbiz album to that list.

I think I’d buy this album & never listen to it. Justin Bieber seems to have grown up (I don’t blame him for any “mistakes” he’s made, he grew up in the public eye) if I had grown up being that famous my screw ups would be magnified too. One of his songs that I’ve heard seems OK.

Loving the solo album by Ian Fletcher Thornley also!!!

Fair enough. Wait……..who? Never heard of them?

Still 4+ days on Foo Fighters countdown clock. Album announcement? They said they had recorded 5 songs on tour I Austin. It’s gotta be that or Dave’s planning on breaking his other leg again?

Songs I like, “The Tragically Hip” I rarely listen to them. They’re a large piece of being Canadian. I have 4 of their albums on CD.
