I didn’t get any exercise in this week.  With renovations going on everything’s out of place & there’s sanding dust everywhere.  Kind of knew this was gonna happen, but I was hoping to get something in exercise wise.  I was thinking we might get some walking in this weekend, but we’ll be fairly busy cleaning a thick layer of dust off of EVERYTHING!

I feel as though I’m VERY productive on guitar, even grabbed my mom’s old acoustic while I was there.  So when I say I’d like to get those 3 guitars, I’m hoping to get them each for a diverse reason.  I know I won’t have every sound & every tuning, nor do I want them all.  I’m quite productive with what I currently have & those 3 guitars are each different from what I have and different from each other.  That’s as much diversity as I need.  I don’t need or want another amplifier, effect pedal, or any recording gear.  Now I torture myself watching demonstrations of those guitars!  The more I watch demos of them, the more I like ALL of them!

I haven’t spent any money on anything other than our combined income on groceries, car payments, mortgage, condo fees, & bills.  I also know that I don’t need to justify my purchases to anyone.  If we don’t have the cash to order a guitar by early December, it just doesn’t happen and I continue to save what I can.  I was considering getting some Irish beer this weekend or next weekend, but that’s less guitar money for me.

Regarding the mention of planning in the video.  I don’t spend money on something at that large of a price point without planning, it’s called budgeting in most people’s case.  Heck, I plan/budget for a purchase over $75-$100.  To be honest I’d love to order the S2 McCarty 594 & the Schecter Tempest by early December, before they go out of production.  I know that can’t happen financially though, since any of the 3 guitars individually would clean out my guitar savings!

I love that the Godin is made in Canada, it’s a flat top traditional looking Les Paul, input jack on the front, & it has a wraparound bridge.  I’m not discounting that guitar it looks great & stands out in a REALLY good way.  My eyes are set on the S2 McCarty 594 & the Schecter Tempest in white.

I saw a commercial saying there was going to be a re-broadcast of the Oprah interview with Harry & Meghan.  What is the fascination with the Royal family?  I must be missing something?  I was weirded out when Oprah was SHOCKED that there was racism being dealt with inside the family or institution.  Racism isn’t just an American thing.

I’d also like to know what happened to the #BlackLivesMatter protests.  Racism didn’t just go away instantly.  Peaceful protests should continue, or people might forget about the issue?

Both wall treatments were installed by Wednesday afternoon when I got home.  Thursday morning & this morning the painter is painting the wall treatments.  Then we get to clean dust from patching, sanding, & cutting the boards for the walls, YAY!  They tarped everything & worked on the walls inside a tarped area, but of course dust got out as I expected it to.  Looks VERY good though, I’ll post some photos when the tarps are gone & the mess has been cleaned.  Monday & Tuesday night at my parents’ place & Wednesday & Thursday night here on the couch (bed is moved from my transfer pole, easier to sleep on the couch) Brewster occupied my side of the bed.  I was quite tired on Thursday for some reason?

I’ve been playing/practicing these 2 songs.

When I’ve got an electric guitar in my hands & need a break I play what know of the first half of this song or practice the next section I don’t have worked out yet.

I fell asleep to “Blue Rodeo” the album “Greatest Hits”

I exercised to “Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers” the album “Greatest Hits”

Since you’re here you might as well subscribe.  Either ‘like’ & ‘follow’ the Facebook page or come here with your email open & ‘follow’ in the bottom right corner.  You’ll get an email or Facebook notification every Tuesday & Friday after I finish my morning exercises.  Don’t be afraid to tell others about this page & feel free to comment on any topic!

Yeah, I exercised a bit on Friday with my walking with my walker as always.  Small steps since my calves were incredibly sore.  Kim had Monday off, so I took Monday off too.

Look at all of those pretty guitars!  It’s his hobby & his job.  He went to school to be a guitar teacher.  I think I counted 10 high end PRS guitars on his wall, he earned them!  I ordered a medium level PRS & I’m saving & hoping to buy a low end PRS (the cheapest, $1300 PRS in Aqua)…I’m also on disability though & I’m nowhere near that capability on guitar.  He knows more than those who haven’t gone to school for guitar no doubt!

To be clear here I’ve got a few (5-10?) songs up to the proper tempo on guitar.  My left hand/arm are REALLY making things tougher this time around.  I guess it was almost 12 years with brain cancer to kick things off.  If I didn’t like it SO much, I’d likely pack it in.

I realized Friday night that I’ve been playing the opening riff to this song wrong since 2001??!!??  No wonder a random drunk guy came on stage at a 500 person cabaret to tell me “YOU GUYS SUCK!”  Here I thought he was just an angry drunk?????

No, it’s not the open G string mistake that everyone makes either.  HAHAHA, I said “…G string…”!

My mother’s guitar is what peaked my & my brother’s interest in guitar.  He took bass lessons & I went to the internet.  I took two years of piano when I was 6 & 7 years old, followed by flute & choir in high school.  I think my brother played saxophone for a bit, I could be wrong?  I was sent home for a summer in high school with a saxophone.  My band instructor wanted me to learn it & audition for one of the jazz bands the next year.  I was also often the first pick to do extra percussion in high school, I always figured it was because I was mediocre at best on the flute?  Now I mostly listen to metal & rock music, stuff that makes most people cringe, including Kim.  REALLY!!!!!  Why you gotta be that way Kimmy?  She’s smart, cute, & take’s me to school in a disagreement.

This album by “The Darkness” was released last year.  Was this some type of perverse foreshadowing?  Did they know something & didn’t openly tell us?

Well I guess Easter was only kind of cancelled this year.  No big family get together meal, at least that’s how our families spend it.  Kim’s parents were going to come to Regina for Easter this year.  That was cancelled when this virus stuff started.  Kim & I didn’t do anything special.  Thank goodness I didn’t have to partake in a turkey meal!!!!  Can we start celebrating things by ordering pizza?  We just had spaghetti & tomato sauce, nice change!

I was filling my pill cases on the weekend and I felt like Oprah…..

Kim was doing our taxes this weekend.  I could have helped, working makes you do math…………..I don’t work.  0 – 0 = 0 & that’s probably one of the few reasons working is over rated!

I saw this trailer on the weekend…

I liked the first one, I thought it was pretty funny.  I haven’t seen this movie.  I know this is a kid’s movie & likely not meant to be taken too seriously.  Why is it that rock & metal music are being sold to kids as evil?  Does this mean all rock & metal fans are rude jerks?  There’s music I like & music I don’t like.  A TON of music genres have songs that fall into both categories.  We took our ‘niece’ to see the “My Little Pony” movie in the theater for her birthday a few years ago.

When the evil ponies showed up to battle they played ‘metal’ music, distorted guitar?  Why would anyone bother to influence young kids to avoid any type of music or art for that matter?  What is it with the stigma that rock & metal music are evil?  I hope that’s not the intent, & I don’t think it is, however it does seem odd.  Maybe I’m reading too much into it?

Please keep up with the personal distancing?  Just because the curve is flattening doesn’t mean its SUPER PARTY FUN TIME.  It means what we’re doing is helping, keep helping in the effort to eliminate the curve.  There won’t be an announcement “OK, everything’s back to normal carry on as you were”.  When this is over (July?) it will be a gradual release of prioritized workers for more essential businesses & once everyone is out in the public, it will be different.  Please make sure you do your part so we can try to avoid another quarantine.  Too many people out at once isn’t a good thing.  I’m not a figure of authority in any way but I think it’s better to be safe than sorry!

I saw this yesterday & WOW he’s a GREAT/SMART guy.  I wish he’d be a world leader.  I can think of a few that could learn from him, if they ever stopped to listen!

I’ve gotta say I’m a VERY lucky guy!  I’ve got an AMAZING wife that loves me & supports me, of course goes both ways.  Brewster (our dog) is still alive & kicking after 14 years, & I’m lucky enough to be able to work on myself physically & mentally while relearning my favourite hobby!  Things could be much, much worse.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.
