I fell asleep to “Myles Kennedy” the album “Year of the Tiger”.

I exercised to “Chromeo” 2 albums on shuffle.

No new wheelchair yet!

Yep, I have little moments of anxiety.  I really don’t like meeting new people while I’m in this wheelchair with an iPatch.  On the flip side of this I’m not even 40 yet, so I’m way too young to not meet new people.  What causes my anxiety?  I couldn’t tell you, because I have no idea?  I know that nobody stares at me in public or anywhere else.

Lately I just always feel as though I don’t fit in, which is a double edged sword for me.  I don’t want to be like anyone else, but I also want to feel accepted (which I know I am).  It’s all in my head.

It’s me thinking “I’m here, now what can I do to speed up my recovery?  I’m not at the point that I can move on, so what do I do now?  This exercising is getting redundant, not easy but redundant.”  Sure I mix up my exercises daily, but that’s not enough.  I need a break, but I don’t like having an extended break.  If it’s a break that’s 5 or more days, it makes my exercises more difficult when I start again.  That being said 5 days is not a long enough break.

I could be that we had multiple visitors last week, & that was a welcome change of pace but now it’s back to the regular routine again?  Whatever it is, it’s in my head.  NOBODY has done anything to cause this, it’s just me in a slump.

I’ll likely get some hate from this but this is my view on millennials, as an outsider.

The average age for a kid to get a cell phone is 6 years old, WHY?  I’m 38 & I don’t need a cell phone.  I had a cell phone before I had cancer, it certainly didn’t save my life, & I don’t miss it at all.  If I had a kid that wanted a cell phone, they would be more than welcome to get one, with some rules in place.  Rule number 1, get a job & buy your own phone, rule 2, when the kid comes home from school, the phone goes away until the homework is done & supper is cleaned up.  Until that’s finished, no phone.  Final rule, if the kid’s in a room with other people, the phone disappears.  I’m 38 & a cell phone for myself would feel like a HUGE waste of money.  Did your parents take a phone call when someone was over?  I always heard “Can I call you back later?  We have company over right now.”  Why does that not apply to today’s world?  Texting is the same if you ask me.  Relax the text will be there still, try some etiquette?   That’s just me though & my opinion.

As for streaming music, I get the appeal, it’s out there & legal.  My iPod, 160 gig classic still works, but it does not work for streaming music.  In this case I’m either going to pay hundreds of dollars for an iPhone or iPod touch or roughly $200 for a decent vinyl player & a vinyl collection?  I’m leaning heavily towards vinyl & when my iPod dies there will be no replacement for it.  Napster was free when it first appeared & I like iTunes.  That album you’ve been streaming for a year now has cost you $120 since last year when you got it.  I paid $9.99 once & I haven’t paid to hear it again.  For me streaming music is a wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing.  I’d much rather pay once & own it.

Do you really think musicians will go along with streaming music where they can make $0.05 per stream?  Musicians prior to this streaming fad were loaded with cash, but now musicians are basically working for free.  Remember that this is my opinion & you have every right to your opinion.

Well millennials are taking away my option to buy cheap music.  They’re convinced streaming music is a better option?  I guess anyone using a streaming music site doesn’t want to OWN their music.  “Thank you” millennials for ruining a good idea.  Apple could easily keep the iTunes option if they’re still offering the streaming/Apple Music service.  Same technology I assume?

Just let it play multiple videos regarding millennials in the work place!

This is another stereotype that has exceptions, like all stereotypes.

This won’t happen.  Tuition is not free, most of us have had to pay tuition!  I hope she’s not taking economics!

I didn’t search this subject on www.youtube.com this is just what was on there!

I was always told if you want something you have to work for it.  I was born in 1980 & my brother was born in 1987.  He was told the same as I was.  He’s not a stereotypical millennial.  I’ve never considered my younger cousins a stereotypical millennials either.  I’m the oldest cousin on my dad’s side of the family & among the 4 oldest on my mother’s side.  I don’t think it’s the kids fault?  As a parent maybe treat your kids the same way you were raised?  I’m not a parent for that reason.  I don’t think I have it in me to be a responsible parent & raise a responsible child.  I’m not saying the people I know aren’t responsible or that I’m forcing any type of parenting skills on anyone.  This is how I would raise my child if I had one.

OASIS (SORT OF)

My father & I went to see Queens of the Stone Age in Calgary during the spring, I think it was near the end of May?  Royal Blood was the opener.  Before the concert started there were people sitting to my left having a discussion.  I couldn’t see them since my iPatch is on my left eye, anything to the left of me is totally out of my vision.  I don’t know if they were brother & sister, dating or married, or friends that came to see Queens of the Stone Age.  They were speaking loudly so I heard everything they were saying, & they had thick British accents.  They were talking about Oasis & Noel Gallagher.  The male had absolutely no clue who Oasis was?  The female was explaining everything she could about them to the guy.  How does someone come from the same country as one of the biggest rock bands of the ‘90s & not have a clue who Oasis is, or their guitar player & songwriter?  It’s really not that big of a deal, I was completely flabbergasted!  Whoever the girl was knew everything though.  Oasis is probably as well known in England as The Tragically Hip is in Canada.  Not everyone will be a HUGE fan but most people know who they are.  She explained everything to him, & they sounded as though they were the same age.  It just baffled me that they both knew who Queens of the Stone Age were but not Oasis, weird?  Maybe I just have too much useless music trivia in my head, it’s genetic!  My brother & I got it from mostly dad, but both parents.  I only have 3 “Oasis” albums & 2 “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” albums.

I found out about Queens of the Stone Age via Nirvana.  Dave Grohl was Nirvana’s drummer, then singer for Foo Fighters, then played drums on 2 complete albums for Queens of the Stone Age.  Oasis’ big album in 1995 was also the year Foo Fighters released their debut album.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Kim took Brewster for the weekend to see her parents.  I had all of this stuff on the weekend to do booked a long time ago.  Kim & Brewster are back now.

Music throughout the weekend.  “Metallica”, “Chromeo”, “Tremonti”, “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds”, “Dead Sara”, & “Devin Townsend Project”

I went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders game Friday evening with my parents as usual.  First game of the regular season & we won 27-19.  I refuse to consume alcohol at the games.  $9 for one generic Pilsner.  If you double that, I can buy a case of 15 beers for $18.  I guess my pop was $6 though.

I forgot to bring my sugarless gum which keeps my mouth moist throughout the game.  One piece of it will conquer my dry mouth for an entire game & no need to rush off to the washroom either, it stays tasty too.

Saturday evening dad, his friend Dale & I went to a rum & bourbon tasting at Willow Park.  Very informative & a good intro to bourbon.  3 different types of rum & 3 types of bourbon.  ½ ounce of each & the table was set for everyone.  We also had some bread & a bottle of water to cleanse our palate between each taste.

After the tasting, each person gets a small discount, 10% I think?  I got a 26 ounce bottle of one of the rums & 12 Samuel Adams beer brewed in Boston.  I love rum & I’ve developed a taste for bourbon now, although I have yet to purchase bourbon.

Father’s Day!  My mom isn’t feeling great, I stayed home.  Kim came home & picked me up as I wanted to give my dad a mixed 6 pack of beer & I needed 1 other 6 pack to give him something different from what I had.  Delivered dad’s gift & picked up my pill refills.

BOSTON

I only have their self-titled album.  8 songs & they’re all really good!  You’ll likely know the first track.  The rest are FANTASTIC!  I wish somebody had told me how good this album is years ago!

I may have to look into getting a few more ‘Boston’ albums.

So……….Trump’s plan to “Make America Great Again” is basically bullying other countries?  I think it’s time to stop calling it the “G6 + 1 summit” to just the “G6 summit”.  He’s already taken America out of many other international agreements.  I say kick him to the curb and Canada should take a stab at being a neutral country!  Wait………Trudeau might have to think.  A pretty face like that shouldn’t have to think!

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “The Sin & the Sentence” followed by “I Mother Earth” the album “Dig”

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “In Loving Memory of…….”

During breakfast I was listening to “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” the album “Who Built the Moon?”

I said previously “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst”.  That’s not right!  You can’t live your life in fear with an underground bunker full of water jugs, nonperishables, & a generator just in case?

Once you’re in a situation, then you should “Hope for the best & prepare for the worst”.  I didn’t prepare to have cancer?  Does anybody prepare for that?  I hope not.

It happened, I slept for a year while Kim got stuff lined up for us.  Even one of my doctors called her “The best wife he’d ever seen”.  So remember that Kim is the real hero in this story.  She has laid everything out for me to exercise & get better.  That doctor said that most spouses leave.  I’d likely be dead without her.  I couldn’t even reach the button to call a nurse for help, Kim had to do a PILE of stuff for me.  I was so shaky that she had to feed me.  My parents fed me to begin with in the hospital, since I couldn’t reach my mouth!

I was on an intervenes of TPN, don’t know what that stands for but I think it was a mixture of water & some type of liquid nourishment.  I was never hungry & a very few times I wanted some milk when I learned how to use a straw.  Kim learned how to do it so we could spend some time at the lake during my time at the WRC.

Brewster had some dental work yesterday.  A cleaning & 12 of 42 teeth pulled.  Wasn’t anywhere near as much as I thought it would cost or what they estimated.  He was still a bit numb & high I think.  He did have some wet dog food though!  He has stitches in his mouth that will dissolve.  I missed him a lot Tuesday!  He went in at 7:00 am & Kim picked him up on her way home from work around 4:45 pm or so.

Yes, “Lamb of God” is one of my favourite bands, not just metal bands but one of my favourite bands overall.

Thank you “Winter Olympics” I like you but now nothing else is on TV.  Even the sports talk show I watch had the host complaining about the same hockey game on 8 channels, Canada wasn’t even playing & he works for Roger’s communications!  I can’t even watch “The Ellen Degeneres Show” until Kim gets home!

Just a chat here for a change.  The music industry will continue to change.  The only platform that has survived is vinyl!  Reel to reel, 4 tracks, 8 tracks, cassettes, & CDs have all come & gone.  Who knows if the digital music era will be around in 20 years?  Apple stock is constantly going down, it has been for a while.  Microsoft launched a “media store” late last year, but just like iTunes when it started they don’t have much at the moment.  Other than that I haven’t looked into it much.  I’d purchase CDs if I had the physical space for them.  I wasn’t around for eight tracks, but I’ve seen my fair share of platforms come & go.

I got my parents car in 1996 after getting my license, it had a cassette deck.  I was buying CDs & converting them to cassette on my boom box.  Then I got a CD adapter for in the car.  New vehicles now have USB outlets for an iPod or they use blue tooth from your iPhone or new iPod.  You can debate which platform will survive or not but no one really knows?  Until some whiz kid pops up with the next platform for listening to music.

Maybe one day I’ll pack up my CDs, put them in our storage unit & buy newer CDs?

Whatever works for you at the moment is fine.  No need to worry about what might happen in the future.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like baseball”!!!!!!!!!!

Pitchers & Catchers report to spring training today.  How will the Blue Jays do?  I have no clue?  That’s way too many “ifs” at this point.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-face-major-questions-ahead-spring-training-2018/

Baseball umpires seem to get worse with every passing year.  Bad trend.

If you get suspended for something ridiculous, scream all you want or until you can’t afford the fine.  Who do the umpires report to?  The commissioner I assume?  Who does NOTHING about this!

I will be firmly planted on the couch to watch the Blue Jays’ first spring training game on Friday, February 23rd. After my exercise, breakfast, a shower, & make myself pretty.  Thar last part takes me A LONG time.

I fell asleep to “Queens of the Stone Age” their 2002 release “Songs for the Deaf” followed by “Trivium” the album “The Sin & the Sentence”

I exercised to “Bush” the album “Sixteen Stone” way back when they had to call themselves “Bush X” in Canada.  There was a Canadian called Bush, never heard them, my CD says “Bush X” released in 1994

500 crunches, 590 leg lifts, 700 pushups, 245 tricep pushups, 200 back flexes, & 240 squats.  That’s my week of exercising.

I figured out today how to do my exercises & not be completely exhausted after.  50 squats, 50 tricep pushups, 40 back flexes, 100 pushups, 100 crunches, 50 more pushups, & 130 leg lifts.

Thursday I was lacking energy & knew I wouldn’t make my totals after doing my squats.  I did everything just dialed the numbers back a bit.

In reference to Brewster’s teeth, he’ll be fine & it won’t cost nearly as much as I had anticipated.  That’s our kid, our little boy.  Might not make sense to some of you but you’d do the same for your human child I assume.  If there is something Kim or Brewster needs, consider it done, especially after what they’ve done for me!  When Kim looked at his teeth, I didn’t think twice “How soon can it happen?” Was the first thing I said & “What’s it going to cost?”

All of this exercising is almost too much for me.  I’m not stopping though.  The sets/numbers have gone up, which has made it more difficult.  I can do all of them, by the end I’m tired & seriously out of breath.  I roll over on my side or have some water as I try to catch my breath for a few minutes.  After that I roll up my exercise mat & carry on with whatever I can do around the house.  My exercise time is a minimum of 2 hours.  In the evenings, 3 days a week, I do some cardio.  Walking with my walker or riding a recumbent exercise bike.

The cardio I’ll tally it up at the end of the year or possibly in June & then the end of the year.

This looks like the year for Marvel to rake in a few billion dollars!

When you see me mention Deadpool, just always assume there will be language involved.

Deadpool 2 is locked & loaded for release on May 18th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black Panther is set for release on February 16th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avengers: Infinity War also hits theaters this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Venom hits theaters in October.

Ant man & The Wasp will be in theaters in July

Aquaman comes to theaters December 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Han Solo comes to theaters this summer.

Other than “Aquaman” & “Han Solo” looks like Marvel wants to get crazy rich this year.  I still have yet to see “Thor Ragnarok” & “The Justice League”.  Looks like I’ll be busy this year, baseball starting shortly, the CFL, these movies, working out, & some TV thrown into the mix.

Paramore, Nothing but Thieves, Fall Out Boy, Pink, & Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds all seem to be getting a LOT of air time from me.

I’m sorry, I can’t stop laughing at this.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was/is absolutely ridiculous/stupid

This is cute & funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fell asleep to “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” the album “Who Built the Moon?”

Too early to turn on workout music.  I exercised before going to the doctor.

5 day week total 600 pushups, 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 225 triceps pushups, 200 squats, & 200 back flexes.

Yes, I had a doctor appointment this morning.

I’m getting tired of seeing this doctor, that doctor, another doctor.  Needles have never been an issue for me.  I just want to be done with this cancer thing, it’s becoming one more thing I have to be aware of & I’m fine.  I’m just annoyed by it now.  It’s just getting in my way, taking up time I still haven’t set aside for doctor appointments.

The whole thing is just getting more annoying as it continues.  I’m alive, the doctors & nurses have a success story to write about & use for future brain cancer patients.  Take this story & save someone else’ life.  My doctors & nurses are very nice, it’s not them that annoy me, it’s the after cancer protocol that I’m tired of.  Go here, go there, do this, talk to this person.

I had cancer in 2008 & it’s 2018 now, I’m tired of this stuff!

I think the music I listen too is more mainstream than some readers think.  In that it’s more mainstream within it’s genre.  Lamb of God, Trivium, System of a Down, Iron Maiden, In Flames, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, etc.  They’re all bands that most metal fans could list in seconds.  Metal fans may not like them but have likely heard of them.

I find it funny that Bono still thinks/or ever considered U2 as a “punk rock” band.  Maybe the mentality of a “punk rock” band, but never has the music represented a “punk rock” sound.  I’m a BIG U2 fan but I have never thought of them as “punk rock”

Yep, “Corrosion of Conformity” released an album at midnight Eastern Time.  Once I get it & give it a few listens I’ll let you know what I think of it.  Yes, it’s a metal/hard rock album.

I think “Foo Fighters” could do the same as “Pearl Jam” just tour & randomly release a new album.  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is absolutely HILARIOUS!!!  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What has Gene Simmons, bass player of KISS, tried to trademark?

I fell asleep to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

I exercised to “I Mother Earth” the album “Blue, Green, Orange”

We went to bed around 9:30pm on Sunday we were so tired.  Monday morning I woke up around 2:30am.  Kim woke up later & had a headache.  She ended up going into work late.  I gave up & got up around 5:00am.  I couldn’t sleep, so I figured I’d do my exercises.  Finished them, had breakfast & crawled back into bed around 8:00am.  Once Kim showered & went to work, I showered (I have a shower chair that would have to dry off before we moved it).

Why was I so sore on Tuesday after the early morning on Monday?  I did a full workout on both days, yet today I was fine?

IT’S RATED R FOR IT’S ENTIRE CONTENT OF LANGUAGE, VIOLENCE, & NUDITY!

I’ve got a lot of time to think!  Did anyone see the movie “Red State” by Kevin Smith?

Before anyone calls me a hypocrite or an atheist.  I consider myself a Christian, I believe in God & remember that this is nothing more than my opinion.

This can be a touchy subject, remember that you are entitled to your opinion even though it’s likely different than mine, as usual!  I have no intension of forcing my opinion of anything on anyone.

Let’s talk about the Republican Party or conservatives in general.  Most of them love the Bible, that’s great.  Where does it say to hurt or kill another human if they’re different than a white male, with a Christian belief?  I didn’t see it in the Christian Bible & I assume it’s not in any other Religious book.  People who kill others for being different than them are flat out wrong.  #LGBTQ members, Black, Brown, & White people are humans.  What is the point of harming a person?

What I’m getting at is God is referenced in the Bible as “He”.  Most red state leaders are white males who believe in God, Jesus, & the Bible.  Stay with me here.  Most of them consider homosexuality a sin.  The Pope & Cardinals are not to marry a women as they are not to tarnish their relationship with God.  So does this mean God, the Pope, or the Cardinals are gay?  If so, I’m good with that & many conservatives or republicans may read this & have their minds blown or, hopefully, rethink their stance against anyone different than them.

There’s a BIG difference between Religious & a “Religious” Cult.

Jealous?  Inadequate?  Insecure?

http://loudwire.com/that-time-kiss-demanded-an-interviewer-remove-iron-maiden-shirt/

You want a new “A Perfect Circle” & a new “Tool”?  Don’t blame the messenger if this doesn’t happen.

A small handful of these are on my list of 2018 albums.

WOW, the music is a total rip off from “Radiohead’s” song “Creep”.  Lyrics are a bit difference.  Singing melody the same too.  Both songs inside the link.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Who Built the Moon?

Most people my age have at least heard of “Oasis” in the ‘90s.  Noel was the songwriter & lead guitarist.  His brother, Liam, was the singer.

Noel & Liam still don’t really get along from what I know.  They were terrible to each other when they were in “Oasis”.  They’ve both branched out on their own.  I tried listening to Liam Gallagher’s solo album but I much prefer “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds”.  Noel has 3 of these albums released.  The first one I do not own, came off as a bit boring to me.  The 2nd & 3rd album are very good.  This 3rd one even better than the album “Chasing Yesterday”.  Again here’s a few tracks from “Who Built the Moon?”

We had 4 Christmas’ this year.  First up was Christmas with Kim’s family.  Opened gifts here on Christmas Eve, then spent the 25th at Sherry & James’ place.  Played games, had our Christmas meal & watched a movie.  Kim’s family went home on Boxing Day.

In the afternoon of Boxing Day, Corey, Jolene, & Hannah came over in the mid-afternoon to have our Christmas we have with them as we do normally.  No big meal though!  Thank goodness.

The only problem for me was trying to figure out how to get into Sherry & James’ house.  It’s a nice place but not wheelchair friendly.  I made it in without falling!  I don’t think I’ve ever fallen there.  James’ brother Jeffrey was with us for 1/2 Christmas Day, & here on Christmas Eve as well.  He’s a really nice guy to chat with.

On the 27th we had Christmas with my family.  We all did an escape room.  2 teams of 5 people.  My uncle, his girlfriend, & 2 cousins were with us for Christmas.  We had pizza for supper, then opened gifts, & finished the evening with a game of Pictionary & Mad Gab.

After we had just finished opening gifts, my parents got a call from a paramedic in Calgary.  My grandparents were in Airdrie for Christmas staying with my aunt, uncle & 2 cousins.  They had dropped my grandparents of at the airport to fly home.  They hadn’t boarded the plane & my grandmother had “a small heart attack” they said.

They think it was cardio myopathy.  I guess it really damaged her heart & her brain wasn’t working quite right.  Mom & Dad were on the phone a lot on Friday (29th) keeping other family members up to date.

On the 28th I did absolutely nothing, I was REALLY tired.  Kim went over to visit Jolene & Hannah.  Their dog Dug needed to have a play date with Brewster.  Kim thought Corey was working, so I stayed home & watched “The X-Files” on Netflix.  I should have had a nap instead.  I was too young to watch this when it was on TV, but I can’t wait for the new season.

Friday the 29th was Christmas with my mother’s side of the family at my cousin’s house in Rouleau (pronounced Rolo).  Aunts, uncles, cousins & all of my cousin’s young kids.  More of a family get together.  No gifts or anything just appetizers & a turkey dinner.  Unfortunately Mitch & Dad were both ill & stayed home.

It’s REALLY cold out today, December 30, 2017, we’re not leaving the house today however, I’m wearing my usual attire of shorts & a T-Shirt though.  I even asked Kim for some of the comforter in the middle of the night.  That’s very rare.  Make a note on your calendar!

Cold day, a good day to hunker down & watch movies with Kimmy.  She found a “Rocky” marathon.  She loves those movies.  Yes, we own them all, from the first “Rocky” all the way to “#Creed”.

I don’t like to speak about my Christmas gifts.  It’s very embarrassing to me.  I’m grateful for them, but also embarrassed by the amount of stuff I receive.  I prefer & enjoy giving gifts.  That’s one of the reason I don’t talk about what I’ve received.  Please don’t ask?

Well, it’s New Year’s Eve December 31, 2017 means I’m 9 years cancer free.  I’m still in a wheelchair, iPatch over my left eye, & still on 5 medications.  All of that being said, I’m fine.

We spent New Year’s with Corey, Jolene, Hannah, Gosha, Twyla, & Elouise (spelling may be off here).  Yes we were home & in bed before midnight.

Kim has the entire week off, but I’ll start my workouts on Tuesday.   I’m going to change it up a bit throughout the year so it doesn’t become the same daily routine.  You’ll still get a weekly total though!

Just spoke with my mother, mom & dad may be heading to the Alberta boarder to pick up my grandparents this weekend (6th & 7th).  Just the other day grandma thought the year was 1532, she was in a mall, & had been there for 2.5 years.  Sounds like she is doing better now.  When the paramedic called on the 27th we were all shocked that they said Jean Fraser was in the back of the ambulance?  Grandpa is the one with a bad heart.  I guess I’m lucky to still have two grandparents alive at my age.  I also got to know 3 of my great grandmothers.

Another tune from “A Perfect Circle”

If I knew in 2017 what I know now, Pink, U2, The Devin Townsend Project, & Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds would have appeared on my top albums of the year.

Pink – Beautiful Trauma

U2 – Songs of Experience

No, I didn’t care for their free album either, “Songs of Innocence”

The Devin Townsend Project – Transcendence

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Who Built the Moon?

I’ll do a review of these albums over the next 4 posts.  If you’ve never enjoyed U2, you probably won’t like their new album.  As a U2 fan, I REALLY like it.
