WEEKEND UPDATE

Friday evening we sat on our butts & watched disc 2 of season 6 of “Boy Meets World”

I got all 7 seasons on DVD for Christmas, it’s kind of a high school crush thing for me. Kim got mad at me recently. She came home from work I told her I had watched episodes that day. Now I know not to do that. Saturday, Kim had a hair appointment. Brewster & I spent the day at my parents place. Dad & I watched the first 2 “Hobbit” movies on his HD projector in the basement on his 84” screen. “Hobbit” movies, popcorn & coke, good times! Kim came over to my parents so the 4 of us could have some tasty tourtier for supper.

Sunday I plan to avoid the Super Bowl at all costs. I don’t watch NFL football at all, too long for me. Canadian Football League aka CFL is my football. I watch the CFL & MLB baseball. Both are scheduled as 3 hour games, NFL is scheduled for 4 hours a game + all of the hype before & after the game. Too much for me. Even if a CFL game goes into overtime it feels too long for me. Toronto Blue Jays baseball, I can watch forever. Last season I watched an entire 19 inning game, a regular game is 9 innings. There’s no such thing as a tie game in baseball, they just play until someone wins. I very rarely watch the NHL. Yeah, a Canadian who doesn’t watch hockey, that’s me. I check out the standings once in a while. I cheer for the Montreal Canadians, the Edmonton Oilers and anyone playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Even people in Toronto are disappointed with their hockey team & the attendance is dropping steadily from what I hear on “Prime Time Sports with Bob McCowen”.

“Chevelle” are in the studio!!!!

Just watched Saturday Night Live. The musical guest was “The 1975” instantly reminded me of “INXS” who I really like so I pre-ordered their 2nd release on iTunes.

Then I figured since I’m on iTunes I might as well grab “The Northern Pikes” album “Snow in June”

Top 10 songs heard at sporting events. They won’t have the 3 songs you always hear at the home town Saskatchewan Roughriders games

http://loudwire.com/top-10-songs-heard-at-sporting-events/

If the Riders are about to win by a large margin you’ll fear this song. Haven’t heard this song at the stadium the last few years. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are terrible lately, & that’s an overstatement!

However you’re getting this, please pass it along?

WEEKEND UPDATE

The Toronto Blue Jays are done, but look at the Montreal Canadians 9W-0L! 2 of those wins, the first & the most recent came against the OH SO terrible Toronto Maple Leafs. Almost makes me want to watch the NHL again.

https://www.google.ca/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=Rc53VIzBC8yV8Qe3lYHIDg#q=nhl+standings

I have 3 favourite teams. In order they are Montreal, Edmonton & any team playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

No more baseball, the incredibly boring CFL season is almost done & I just can’t get into NFL football, it might be a season of NHL this year or Netflix, DVDs, & Blu-rays on the weekends?

How often should artists release an album? Friday’s Rock It Out Blog.

New “I Mother Earth” song on the way? They just release singles now, not full albums. This will be their 3rd single since they got back together in, 2012 or 2013, after breaking up after the release of “The Quicksilver Meat Dream” in 2003.

I looked it up. I Mother Earth was in Regina, or the entirety of Saskatchewan, in 1998 or 1999, with Finger Eleven opening promoting their first album.

We went out for brunch with friends & family this morning. A family dinner, with Fraser side of the family, to celebrate Kim, Rachel & Grandpa’s birthday. After that Kim’s party time is over. Good thing all of these events that go to 9:30 pm are making me tired! BAZINGA!

Songs I like, “Sum 41” the Screaming Bloody Murder album it’s a surprisingly good hard rock album.

ELECTION DAY….IT’S YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE & MINE NOT TO VOTE

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “E”, as in Eve 6

Have fun voting Canada! Then you can whine & complain about why the person you voted for can’t do what they promised.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on the Canadian election. LANGUAGE!!!!

I like “Walk off the Earth” their originals & their very unique videos of cover songs!

I think I should watch some NHL since the team I cheer for (Montreal) has yet to lose a game (6W-0L) & the basement dwellers (Toronto Maple Leafs) are in 7th place in the same division out of 8 teams (1W-3L-1Overtime game) Bahahahaha!

Yes, I bought “Coheed & Cambria” album ‘The Colour Before the Sun’ & “Pentatonix” album ‘Pentatonix’

This makes 5 albums I’ve purchased this month, with one more to go. Ian Fletcher Thornley’s solo album. After that album is released, there aren’t any release dates that I know of for me?

I was waiting for Kim in our vehicle & decided to turn on the radio. I don’t listen to the radio usually, & it’s never Regina’s Rock Station, it’s light rock or Jack FM where they play it all. I heard “Chromeo” & turned it up to 11!

It will be a difficult year for me to do a Top 10 list of the albums released this year. I already have a list of 22 albums this year, only the Muse album got old fast. The music is good, the actual lyrics…………………………………..not so much. So that narrows the field to 21 & the year’s not over yet. I’ll do away with “My Morning Jacket” as well. Great band live but the studio albums really pale compared to a live show. That brings it down to 20, I guess I’ll have to do it by process of elimination.

Songs I like, “Stevie Wonder” I have “Songs in the Key of Life” & a “Greatest Hits” album.

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “B”, as in ‘Barenaked Ladies” 11 albums on shuffle!

The Montreal Canadians beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1. Cheer up Maple Leaf fans, they might win the cup………………..sometime this century?
