Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “The Beatles” the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” followed by “Metallica” the album “Hardwired………..to Self-Destruct”

Friday ended with me drinking alone & watching the Toronto Blue Jays vs. the Cleveland Indians.  Both had the same win-loss record starting the game which the Blue Jays won 8-4.  The Jays are now 9W-5L.

Saturday we woke up before 8:00 am.  I rolled over & asked Kim what time it was, too early.  Grabbed my iPod Classic, which I’ve almost decided will not be replaced when it dies, then we went back to sleep & I put my iPod back on.  Saturday evening was my dad & brother’s birthday supper at my parent’s place.  Supper, brownies for Mitch, & a Chocolate Extreme Blizzard cake from Dairy Queen for dad.  Good times that went a bit longer than expected.  By 10:00 pm we were all a bit tired & cleared out fast.

The Blue Jay game Saturday in Cleveland was rained out.  Today’s is supposed to be rained out as well.  3 players are currently injured so collectively that’s $54,000,000 worth of players sitting on the bench & the short stop might have a career ending injury.  His contract runs out at the end of the 2020 season.  Teams have insurance incase this type of thing happens.

Typical Sunday for us, getting ready for the week ahead, laundry, groceries, make a vegetable juice, bake some fish, hard boil some eggs, etc.  I’ve got the “American Country Music Awards” recording for Kim.  How on earth did I get stuck with a country music fan?  Country & music don’t even belong in the same sentence most of the time.  Oh wait she HAWT, smart, funny, she loves me, etc.  I do like the Dixie Chicks though.

I don’t play my music when she’s home & she usually does the same.  I find it funny that country “music” has to have it’s own award show, because it doesn’t fit in with the cool kids.  Hahahahahaha!

Before I get into this I should say that “Live’s” albums “Throwing Copper” & “The Distance to Here” are legendary albums for me.

The first band I was in while in University played most of “Lightning Crashes” once in rehearsal, but none of us knew the bridge of the song.  We stopped at the bridge & just never bothered to learn it or play it again, we should have.

2002

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE & FOO FIGHTERS

I got into “Queens of the Stone Age” when they released their 3rd album “Songs for the Deaf” in 2002 with Dave Grohl on drums for all of the songs & a short tour afterwards.  I was already into Foo Fighters, so to see Dave on drums in a “Queens” video was big for me.  I bought the album ASAP.  I listened to it a LOT & soon bought the previous 2 albums, I was hooked.  I was in SIAST but the “Queens” stuff was in a low tuning.  I learned some of it, but it was just a hassle to switch tunings on my guitar for “Queens” stuff & regular tuning for rehearsal.  Foo Fighters released their 4th album on Kim’s birthday that year in October.  Not their best album but also not their worst, but I’m biased when it comes to Foo Fighters……….

Dave Grohl played drums on this album & Elton John played piano on at least a few songs!

Godsmack is still around?  I didn’t even know?  I was never a fan though anyways.

http://loudwire.com/godsmack-when-legends-rise-title-track/

Top 10 Tool songs according to Watchmojo.com.  I wouldn’t put them in any category, especially metal.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!         Any Tool fan that enjoys marijuana, doesn’t need to bring any to a Tool show, the rest of the audience will get you high on second hand smoke & the crowd also doubles as a fog machine for the band.

I think this guy is over a decade younger than me.  Although he says this ranking of “Muse” albums are just his opinion.

For me it would be “Showbiz”, “The Resistance”, “Drones”, “The 2nd Law”, “Origin of Symmetry”, “Absolution”, & finally “Black Holes & Revelations”.  I guess our opinions aren’t that far off after all.

I fell asleep to “Myles Kennedy” his only solo album “Year of the Tiger” followed by “The Pretty Reckless” the album “Who you Selling for?”

I exercised to nothing, I forgot to get the remote down.

For breakfast coming up I will be listening to “Lamb of God” the album “Ashes of the Wake”

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so I’m physically disabled, that doesn’t mean I can’t do anything.  I can stand for a long time as long as I have something solid to hold onto.  I cleaned our main bathroom, mirror, sink, & toilet.  I can stand up with the pedestal sink to get the entire mirror clean.  When I stand up in the living room I have a transfer pole.  I stand there & just stretch.  Even with one hand on it & I can touch our 8 foot ceiling.  In the kitchen I can use the stove top & cook my fish in the oven.

Kim goes to work Monday-Friday, knowing I can spend 8 hours in our condo & be just fine.  I have phone numbers to call if I need something.  I think I’ve called for help once because we were out of toilet paper!  Nothing life threatening I just didn’t want to sacrifice my socks!

Knock on wood, I haven’t fallen lately & I haven’t hurt myself in doing so thus far.  I likely won’t be able to walk without a walker, but we’ll see about that?  Maybe I’ll be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life?  There’s always that possibility.

I guess what I’m saying is I can do things, some just aren’t as fast as able bodied people do.  Nobody really knows what I can or can’t do, not even Kim.  That’s not meant to hurt anyone’s feelings but even I sometimes take on something pretty much impossible & surprise myself or be disappointed that I can’t do it.  If it’s the latter I’ll look at it from a different perspective the next time.  There’s nothing wrong with trying something in a different way, as long as no one gets hurt.

THE 90s WERE GOOD & TERRIBLE AT THE SAME TIME FOR ME

Here’s some of the BAD that I would hear at the hotel 3 or more times a shift, music playing at, at least 3 events……

Those songs got old for me fast!  The following songs were instant hits for me & were never played during any events at the hotel I worked at in Banquets.

Or just Jägermeister on the rocks, at least that’s how I drink it?

Yep, rock is no longer cool.  Now everybody wants pop music at the box social or whatever the kids call it these days!

New Pearl Jam song!!!!!

Mark Tremonti’s Facebook status.  Wow, that was really fast!

“Mixing is officially done! Off to mastering….A Dying Machine”

Day light savings time was created for WWI.  Do we really need it now?  I don’t think so.  At least in Saskatchewan we don’t do it, it’s always the same time here!

The last concert I went to in 2017.  Easily the best Barenaked Ladies show I’ve ever seen.  I don’t think I’ve missed a show in Regina since 1992.  I even saw a show while I was in my rehabilitation program!

The Blue Jays seem to be barking up the same tree as last year.  They’re trying to make a starting pitcher out of Joe Biagini.  All of the fans saw this experiment crash & burn last year, Biagini was 3W-11L as a starter last year.  On Sunday he gave up 5 runs & couldn’t get out of the 2nd inning.  He’s great in the bullpen though as a reliever!  $20,000,000 short-stop might be healthy near the end of April.  Regular season starts on Thursday, March 29th.  I don’t think this will be a pretty year?

This happened to him last year in May or June?  I have not seen him on a baseball field since.

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Concrete & Gold”, followed by the band “James” their “Greatest Hits” or the album “Laid” if you recognize it, it’s from the soundtrack of one of the “American Pie” movies.  Search for “James the band” if you like this

I exercised to “Matthew Good Band” the album “Underdogs”

When I went into the Wascana Rehabilitation Center I was on the 2nd floor initially.  Sometime in 2010 I was asked by a social worker if I’d switch rooms & go to the main floor.  The room I was in on the 2nd floor had oxygen for people that needed it.  I didn’t so I said “Yeah, no problem.”  The social worker was so relieved.  She was turned down by multiple people that refused to switch rooms.  I thought that was EXTREMELY odd?  People said “no” to changing rooms?  Same care on the first floor, really not a big deal at all.

I was genuinely shocked that anyone wouldn’t give up their room for someone else that needs it?  That’s still a vivid memory to me.

If you’re not using the oxygen that someone else needs, why not make things easier for another patient?  I think it may have more to do with people fearing change?  Most people avoid change & tend to think something different won’t be as good.

Even to this day I have to adapt to regular things.  The biggest question for me is if I can get into a place & if I can get to the washroom on my own.  Maybe I can, maybe I’ll need help until I figure it out, or maybe I can’t do it alone?

My parents’ washroom in the basement was tricky, I could do it, but it was tricky to do it.  They put in some grab bars for me & now it’s super easy for me!

Florida shootings.  I hope this will wake gun owners up!

I agree “thoughts & prayers” are doing anything.  Why is it that so many people are OK with reacting to a shooting & not being proactive to avoid the shooting?  Are we going to wait for the kids to grow up, or the current adults with guns to grow up?

I hate the fact that I see all of these mass shootings on TV & I feel numb “Oh, it will happen again next week” & unfortunately that’s what usually happens.  I think when anyone says “Ah, it’s a mental health problem.  Don’t blame the guns.”  WHY?   What if it involved a member of your family?  “My family is fine, we all have a gun for protection”.  Yeah, so far that’s working great for others, especially when a gun owner snaps & goes on a killing spree.

All of the music news you need to see.

Maynard’s going to be very busy, singing for 3 bands.

You can’t really blame the singer for his voice sounding so much like Robert Plant.  The bassist & drummer aren’t at the Led Zeppelin plateau & the guitarist is guilty for the tone of his guitar & Zeppelin sound alike riffs.  I wouldn’t complain about a band having a similar sound as Led Zeppelin?

I’d rather see a human on stage showing their craft, but maybe that’s just me.  This stuff seems more like a gimmick to me.

Another song from the upcoming “Stone Temple Pilots” album

I’m not sure how to feel about this?  “The Birds of Prey” album by “Live” was very questionable at best.  I guess we’ll see if there’s any gas in the tank?

I fell asleep to “Alice Cooper” the album “Paranormal”, “Diemonds” the album “Never Wanna Die”, & finally “INXS” their “Greatest Hits”

Yeah, bonus live tracks at the end of this album.

I exercised to “Royal Blood” the album “How did we get so dark?”

Exercise total this week; 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 300 pushups, 200 back flexes, & 25 minutes of planking!  Every day starts with me exercising, no shower, dressed in workout attire, & no breakfast.  Once I finish my exercises, then I allow myself to have breakfast, shower, put on clean clothes, & usually in this room to work on the next blog.  Yep, I hit my goal every day this week.

I do get quiet exhausted after my 60 pushups.  I leave them for the end since I’m useless after them.  I roll on to my side or back since it’s easier to breathe!  I start my exercises on my back, crunches & leg lifts, once I roll on to my stomach & do ½ of my back flexes, I’m breathing pretty heavy already!  I end up doing some of my planking for a bit.  Once the back flexes & planking is done, then I’ll do a set of 20-30 pushups, then fish with 2 sets of 20 or a set of 30.

After I shower, I check to see if my balance has improved with my hands hovering by my transfer pole.  Some days are really good, & most days are bad.  When it’s a bad day I’ll try a few more times.  That’s the reason for the wheelchair & exercising!  I need to start walking with my walker at least once a week, if not 3 times a week.  When I do, I can tell that my exercising makes a HUGE improvement each time!  That being said, I’ve still have a long road ahead of me.

I’m going back to a Sunday, Wednesday, Friday routine this week!

Thursday we stayed home & I watched the Blue Jays game.  We cleared off the DVR in the evening.  Friday we slept in until 8:30 am.  I get to bed around 11:30 pm, about an hour later I fall asleep……………if I’m lucky after flipping, tossing, & flopping around!  Kim’s out seconds before she’s lying down.  Friday in the late afternoon, a friend of ours was in town.  We had supper & I had a few Malibu rum & 7 up.  The Gin to 7 up ratio didn’t work out, I had to figure out what to put in the remaining 7 up.  Fake rum it was!  Don’t worry, I have real rum & Coke or beer usually.

Saturday, we spent the afternoon at Sherry & James’ in the backyard on the deck having some adult beverages.  We got there around 3:00 pm & left around 7:00 pm.  Watched the Rider game on TV to see them lose, then watched “Blue Jays in :30” to see them lose 2 -1 in the 10th inning in Cleveland.  Today they play in Cleveland the last game of 3 in Cleveland aka I’ll be on the couch!

IF YOU’RE HERE FOR THE UPDATE, THAT’S ALL THAT I HAVE FOR YOU TODAY.

R.I.P. Chester Bennington, thanks for the music you’ve left us with.

Yes, it’s sad to hear that anyone has died & we all send our thoughts towards the friends & family affected by the passing of anyone.  If it’s because of suicide, someone should have or likely noticed a change in the individual’s attitude or mood.  If they didn’t notice anything.  The passing of that person should not to be celebrated in any manner.  I know it’s hard to talk about.  I couldn’t deal with mine in the WRC.  I had to ask Kim to write a note to my doctor for me, I dictated it to her & passed it along to my doctor.  I’ve been there, I’ve thought about it many times, before & during my recovery of cancer.  I have no desire to go back to such a dark place.  A suicide is sad, but unjustified!  You don’t have to commit suicide, ask for help, any decent person would gladly listen.  Or take a deep breath, step back, look at the situation, prioritize the issues, & tackle them one at a time.

“The world has lost not only an amazing singer and artist, but a great father and a good friend. Our hearts are broken from the loss. We will miss you Chester.

If you’re alone and feeling the same, reach out. If you’re fighting depression and pain, speak out. There is always someone to listen.” – Stone Sour

Sorry Blue Jay fans, they’re going nowhere fast.  Trade deadline on July 31st, I’m confident that much ado about nothing will happen.  Word is the Rogers owner has told CEO Mark Shapiro & GM Ross Atkins not to blow this team up.  ‘They’re too good of a team’ aka they’re making money off of the TV revenues & attendance at the ball park.  I think we’re living on false hope or a “Look over here, while I do nothing over there” scam!  Bautista & maybe Marco Estrada &/or Francisco Lariano will be traded, nobody else though (the 3 mentioned players have expiring contracts at the end of the season).  They want to keep this old team together for the sake of making a few extra bucks.  As of Sunday morning, before today’s game, they are 44W-53L with 57 regular season games left.  Unless they win, I’d guess 47 or more of those games, I don’t see a playoff game or series happening this year!

I fell asleep to “Royal Blood” the album “How did we get so Dark?” followed by “Stone Sour” the album “Hydrograd” followed by “Stitched Up Heart” the album “Never Alone” followed by “Foo Fighters” the album “Wasting Light”.  Went to bed too early for me, takes me quite a long time to fall asleep.  We went to bed at 9:45 pm, I got up at 5:30 am.

I exercised to “Live” the album “The Distance to Here”

Well I’m fine & back to reality as of Tuesday.  Did most of my exercise, but I was pretty exhausted so I didn’t bother with the yoga.  Made a juice for the week.  Full of bananas, spinach, orange juice, an apple, & carrots.  It tastes really good!

I have a half glass of that every morning, 2 rice cakes with nothing on them, a hardboiled egg or a turkey bite.  Somedays I’ll have 1-3 black coffees.  Lately I haven’t had a morning covfefe.

6 days off was nice, but it REALLY lowered my energy level & my ambition to exercise.  Thank goodness it’s a short week, I need to rest after 6 days off.

Not much going on here today.  I was at my parents’ place after an appointment to get some refills on my pills.  Mom’s in quite some pain still of course but she’s doing very well.  She can make it to their en suite washroom on her own, she even got up to use the washroom in the middle of the night.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

WEEKEND UPDATE

If you like it, please share & subscribe?  If you don’t please give me feedback as to what would improve it for you?  I can’t please everyone but I can try.

Nice!  This site had 12 viewings by 11 people from Canada, South Africa, Brazil & America.  Please keep sharing people!  On Facebook we hit 81 views.  I can’t tell who is reading this but thank you.  As for who I see reading it on the website, all I see is the country & how many people from that country have viewed it.  If you’ve subscribed with your email I can see that as well.

I don’t want to overload you with links, pick what you want to know about & feel free to skip the other stuff.  The www.youtube.com links are there for a point of reference if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Don’t feel as though you have to open every link.

I got off of the computer quite early on Friday.  I was fevered & felt like a truck hit me.  Sore everywhere & 0 energy.  When I’m sick, which isn’t very often now, it always feels like a wasted day.

Saturday & I still feel terrible.  When I woke up I didn’t feel too bad.  Then I had breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, & made a juice.  I’m so hot now that I should shower again, & get a dry shirt on.

The plus side to Saturday is that I haven’t worked out since November, & I weigh but 235.  I think I was 233 about a year ago.  When/if I hit 215-220 that’s about right for me.  I’m not trying to lose weight, but I just feel better (other than now when I’m sick & feel like I’ve been hit by a truck)

“Saturday night, date night, Saturday night”

Us 2 plugged sickos rented “The Founder” from iTunes.  It was good, I’d recommend it, I don’t need to see it again though.

As for today, Sunday, I’m still fevered, not much has changed.  I’ve filled my pill capsules & now I will watch the Blue Jays lose………………….again.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.  Slow/Quiet week.  Stretching everyday & many routine appointments to come by the end of July.
