My doctor called looks like I’ll more than likely have a back operation YAY!  He’s going to call the same surgeon that did my brain surgeries.  I’m not worried about the strong possibility of back surgery, I’m worried about the recovery time.  After the doctor called, Kim teared up, she doesn’t want me to have to deal with something major again.  So I told her “Don’t worry about stuff like this, we don’t know what’s going to happen in the next 10 seconds or what will happen in surgery or after, we’ll deal with whatever when it happens”.  I’m anxious for this back thing to be fixed once & for all, & get back to exercising.  This stretching stuff is getting old.

Kim’s parents came down from the Prince Albert area.  We had Easter with them & Sherry Friday night.  Saturday was my Dad’s birthday.  Kim had a bad chest cold that moved to her sinuses & just continued to get worse as the weekend progressed.  She stayed home Saturday to rest.  She was going to go shopping with her mom & sister & then come to my parents for supper.  She just really wasn’t up to doing anything.  My brother & his girlfriend drove me home, dad picked me up in the afternoon.

Kim ha Thursday & has Monday off.  I’ll see how she feels after supper & we may watch a movie if she’s up to it.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.  Slow/Quiet week.  Stretching everyday & many routine appointments to come by the end of July.

Try not to head bang.  I couldn’t help but head bang!

Even though Pantera & Slayer are the 2 bands I listen to on this list.  My head banging song is from Foo Fighters.  Foo Fighters & Big Wreck aren’t featured on here much, but trust me I listen to them a TON!

10 best hard rock albums of 1997.  Mine is “The Colour & The Shape” by Foo Fighters of course!

Radiohead’s “OK Computer” was released in 1997.  That’s a HUGE album still today!  It’s not really even a rock album.

Killswitch Engage have scheduled their virtual reality show.  I don’t know how that works & I really don’t need to know.

New video from Royal Blood!!!!!!!  With the preorder of the new album $7.99 on iTunes.

Apparently there may also be a new Muse album this year?  Follow up to this album “Drones”.  I wasn’t big on this last album, didn’t have the staying power for me.

Trivium shared it.  I should listen to this album more often, I listened to their album “In Waves” yesterday.

I fell asleep to “Ed Sheeran” the album “X”, followed by “Alter Bridge” the album “The Last Hero”

Monday was a good day at home.  My nerve didn’t really bother me much.  I had an appointment at the physiotherapist & felt bad for the guy.  He knew my lower back was sore, & I’ve had a bulging disc in my spine since high school.  He said my back was tight & gave me more stretches to do.  Unfortunately Monday was pretty much a pain free day, & he didn’t really see a severe problem.  I see him once a week for at least the next 3 weeks.  More/additional stretches & things are finally back on track.  I was tempted to do some exercise today before the appointment but I figured better safe than sorry.  I’m wishful to get rid of this nerve pain sooner than later, at least I can see a light at the end of the tunnel!

I did part of my stretches this morning to “Nothing but Thieves”.  I do them throughout the day, so I’m not done them completely yet.

Give it some time to load the crap load of links please?

I to fall asleep to “Coldplay” the album “A Head Full of Dreams”, “Megadeth” the album “Dystopia”, ended up falling asleep to “Opeth” the album “Pale Communion”

I exercised to”Anthrax” the album “For all Kings” that wasn’t long enough so I put on “Dream Theater” the album “Black Clouds & Silver Linings”

Exercise weekly total! 2970 crunches, walking one day 660 meters, 240 squats, 140 leg lifts, & 180 pushups! I figure if Kevin Hart can do 1000 sit ups a day, there’s no reason for me not to try & attain that total. I just have to work up to it. All of that being said, I was so tired yesterday I thought it had to be Friday. I now do 3 or 4 exercises a day not 2 or 3! Minimum of 3.

These are most of the cover songs we played in University. I knew the words for all of them, with the exception of one song. “Whiskey in the Jar” Metallica’s cover of Thin Lizzy. Long song, lyric wise. I know I’ve done this before, but now you should see a preview of the youtube link rather than just the link, I hope! I still have our set list from “Beerfest” at the U of R from 2002, this is it.

We did this as a punk version!

And we’d mix in our 7 original songs. We then learned about 4-6 other songs. I remember learning these 2.

Thursday’s episode of Netflix & Chill

Trivium shared it….

Max Cavalera remembers pissing off Lemmy Kilmister

Same album! All music by Dave Grohl & sent to his favourite metal singers!

Killswitch Engage new album review. I like Killswitch Engage as much as I like potatoes. I don’t like potatoes. They do have 1 song I don’t mind, but it’s a cover song.

Here’s the cover tune below.

2 weeks until Batman vs. Superman hits theaters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Kim Kardashian posted a nude selfie. I didn’t see it nor do I care to. I don’t follow her on facebook because I don’t care to. I don’t know what the big deal is but it made it’s way to “The Ellen Degeneres Show” yesterday, and I still don’t care. A boob is a boob, a WHOHAA is a WHOHAA.

Jose Bautista stated publicly that he gave the President & the General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays a non negotiable contract at the start of spring training.  Now it’s rumored that he will negotiate.  This is his last year on his current contract.  So why the change all of a sudden?  Is he worried he over priced himself?  he’s 35 or 36 years old.  I’d offer him 3 years at $25 million/year, then 2 option years at $20 million & the last year at $18 million.  If that’s not enough, let him test the free agent market at the end of the year or trade him at the trade deadline at the end of July

I exercised first to “Counting Crows” the album “Recovering the Satellites”

Apple shares are going down & Microsoft shares are going up. However an Apple share is double of a Microsoft share.

“No matter what you dream, you can do it” – a bio-pic about Steve Jobs played by Ashton Kutcher, a marketer for Apple said the quote above. I’ve been told this by my parents my entire life & it’s really good advice.

I think Apple as company stopped this way of thinking when Steve Jobs passed? The companies stock is on a downward slope at the moment, probably because they continue to aggravate their customers, likely a large percentage of the world. Face it, you own at least one thing made by Apple. An iPod, iPhone, iPad, an iMac. Mac laptop or desk top, or iTunes is on most computers. I’m not a fan of Apple, but I have an iPod & use iTunes at least twice a week, renting a movie or checking out an album. “No matter what you dream, you can do it”, unless it’s a 160gb iPod classic. Which will be replaced with a more expensive iPod touch with less memory, but additional features most people have or don’t want. I guess Steve Wozniak isn’t the thinker like his good friend Steve Jobs was? I’m not calling Mr. Wozniak stupid at all! I’m saying he doesn’t think the way that Steve Jobs did. Steve Wozniak is great at creating technological advancements, just not at marketing or listening to what consumers want/need.

It’s sort of like dangling a donut in front of anyone “You want it? Here it is!!!! No, now you can’t have it”. If I was tech savvy I’d do it myself, but unfortunately I’m not.

Tremonti teaser for the release of “Dust” on April 29th.

Not about Tool at all. The guy happened to be wearing a Tool shirt at the time he took a murderer down with his guitar.

Nope, not “The Game of Thrones” writer, George R. R. Martin. The other George Martin, The Beatles’ producer.

I would think at this point they would be open to recording a new album, fans would love, but I understand if they didn’t want to.

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the debut “Self Titled” album

I exercised to “A. D. D.” the only album “Core” & changed it to “Alter Bridge” the album “ABIII”

I only listened to half of this album, just a portion of my workout.

Exercise total over 4 days. 90 squats, 200 push ups, 1260 crunches & 30 minutes of yoga.

American Idol confuses me & I’m 36. It’s not that the contestants are much younger & more talented than I’ll ever be. I’ve decided to just watch it & not even try to avoid it. Final season, I might as well? Somebody hit a BIG note, that’s exactly what the judges want to hear. Last year I remember the same judges saying “Hit a big note but know when to not use it” paraphrasing that. I’m 36 years old & that confuses me, how do you think a 14 year old would respond to that?

Yes, I have Dave Grohl’s autograph from a touring one day Canadian festival that stopped in almost every province in the summer of 2000, & yes, I almost peed with joy & excitement when I got it! It’s in a frame here with a poster that drummer Taylor Hawkins signed at a show in Saskatoon about a month after I had been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. I have 4 of the 5 Foo Fighters autograph’s. Guitarist Pat Smear is the only one I don’t have.

Well that would be a first. I know David Bowie has worked with Dave Grohl a few times. I’ve heard one song they did together.

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine on former band Metallica.

It’s from Revolver, you know it’s going to be heavy……but will it be any good?

From www.youtube.com/consequenceofsound

The music instantly reminded me of “The Rolling Stones” in a good way, but we already have ”The Stones”. The guys voice is good but he’s no Mick Jagger!

I guess Marilyn Manson has his place……………..WAY OVER there. David Bowie cover inside the link.

This is good, it’s original, I’ve never heard metal music like this! Check it out, it can’t hurt to at least listen to it! To me it’s like metal light, but still good at the same time. Regina based band!

I fell asleep & woke up to “Dream Theater” the album “The Astonishing”. I waited until shortly after 10:00pm & got it then went to bed. It’s not your typical “Dream Theater” with 9 songs averaging 10 minutes in length. Double album 34 songs in total & most songs are 4 minutes long. The longest is almost 8 minutes. There was a lot more orchestral music on it also. I’d say it’s a really good album!

I exercised to “Eve 6” all 4 albums on shuffle.

Exercise total for the week! 40 leg lifts om my back, 40 leg lifts on my hands & knees, 150 squats, 120 pushups, 1260 crunches, 580 meters walking one day no rest periods. Did I enjoy it? No, but you do what you gotta do! When we were going to the field house on a flat surface I do 800 meters with 2 rest periods. After the first 200 meters then after the following 400 meters, then I’d finish up with the last 200 meters. This doesn’t count the long side walk into & out of the building. Our parking garage has slops for the drain. It’s not a flat surface.

I go to www.youtube.com to share these links & if they’re brand new it tells me to not embed them? This musician doesn’t want me to promote their new song, video, or album? Why is it on www.youtube.com then? Police are going to arrest me because I shared a link? Either way, you’re welcome.

I was fine Monday, I’ve been tired all week since Tuesday morning. I would have liked to have just sat on my butt all week, that never happens unless I declare a break.

“Serenity” premier new song and music video. Let’s learn together, I’ve never heard of them?

I don’t watch much NHL at all because most people watch it for the fighting & big body checks. Nobody wants to see this happen to any official in any sport. Really how idiotic is this? It happened on Wednesday, January 27th. If I was commissioner of the league “Bye, you’re done FOREVER”. I saw this as a highlight on Sportsnet.

I think I’m on a “Dream Theater” kick…….poor Kim!

Yes, I fall asleep to music & listen to a song when I wake up. I’m on my 3rd iPod, not certain if I’m up for the iPod touch which is less gigabytes than my current iPod classic. Sure it does pretty much everything other than work as a phone, but I don’t need/want that. I just want an MP3/M4A player. I’ll be paying more for a 128gigabyte player when I send in my 160gigabyte player? Seems weird to me. I don’t have a camera for a reason! I don’t like putting on a fake smile & posing for a picture, so what gives me the right to do that to others. I feel awkward when anyone says “Hey, let’s take a photo to remember this”. I wonder what people did before 90% of the world had a “camera” in their pocket?Right they REMEMBERED things!

When you go to a movie what do they tell you to do with your cell phone? Turn it off! Why not have that said at any large gathering? Don’t the other individuals deserve the same courtesy? At a play, movie, library, class room, live event, concert, etc. Stop looking down to your hands, there’s something else happening right here at the moment. If you came to see me, I’m here, not on your phone, “What am I missing that’s SO important?”

I’ll give you a total of what & how many exercise’ I did this week on Friday. It looks more impressive that way. It looks pretty impressive even now!

Fell asleep to this “Into Eternity” the album “Buried in Oblivion”

Woke up, at 3:15 & stayed in bed until 6:00, listening to this “Genesis’ Greatest Hits”, “INXS’ Greatest Hits” & a song from “High Holy Days’ All my real Friends”

Today’s exercise was brought to you by “The Agonist” 4 albums on shuffle.

Judge them all you want based on their music & stage demeanor, this documentary is about their singer being locked up in jail for a crime he didn’t commit in the Czech Republic & the band’s attempt to pay bail, get a trial & to have him return home. At the end of the day, they’re humans & this documentary shows as much emotion as I have ever seen on film.

Songs I like, “Taylor Swift” the album ‘1989’ I’d have laughed at you right in the face, before she released this album, if you were to tell me I’d buy a Taylor Swift album! It happened & I find it to be a well crafted pop album. I guess you never say never?
