Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 900 leg lifts, 900 crunches, 600 squats, 450 back flexes, 120 pushups, 600 curls (10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm), 400 tricep extensions w/5 pound weight, 400 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Jeff Buckley” the album “Grace”

I exercised to “Ozzy Osbourne” the album “Bark at the Moon”

Great week for me!  I don’t want to lose my momentum!  This week felt like a big step forward finally.  All of that little stuff definitely helped.  Long road to go yet.

I figured it out, well my new goals for my exercise in the morning only anyways.  Legs, abs, & back 3 days a week.  Weights, arms, stretching, & yoga 2 days a week.  Works up a really good sweat a cold shower is more than welcome afterwards.

I keep track of everything on here in a notebook & add my exercise totals for the day as I go.  I’m trying to cut more sugar out of my diet.  Hopefully just natural sugar & less alcohol.  Kim came home last Saturday with 4 x 500 ml cans of beer & made brownies.  I had a brownie, but no beer or other alcohol.  The small amount of natural sugar in the Bubbly work wonders instead of alcohol.  Figured I’d just stop the alcohol completely for a bit & try to clean the system out.

6 small meals a day & 3-5 liters of water, maybe a cup of black coffee, & a bubbly a day.  Weekends are usually pretty tame on the food intake, unless we’re out with people.

Picked up my acoustic guitar yesterday, felt pretty good after a year.  I didn’t want to put it down.  Eventually I’ll need an amplifier with a pedal for distortion & clean channels.  Hopefully my tuner pedal/noise compressor, 2 effect pedals & cords are still kicking around.  Pretty sure they are.

I think this is the amp I’d get as long as it’s a cheap solid state amplifier, tube amps sound better, but they’re expensive to buy & maintain! Practice amp with a foot switch should suit me well.  I had a Randall half-stack before, I won’t need anything that big or loud, this should do the trick!  I don’t know how much they cost though?  I’m sure it will be at or above $500, start saving now I guess.

I’m really starting to worry about our dog, Brewster, he’ll be 14 in January.  He has a heart murmur & very bad anxiety.  Somebody has to be with him or he freaks out scratching at the door, while barking & whining the entire time.  He’s also started marking when he’s around any other dog.  He’s small, 12 pounds, a Bichon/Shi-tzu cross.  He’s also starting to trip with his back legs.

This might sound odd to some but he’s my kid, my child.  He went to a doggy daycare on Tuesday for the morning.  I just about broke down when he left.  I get it, we don’t get out much because we stay home with him or he stays with Kim’s sister & hubby, Sherry & James, since they don’t have a dog so he won’t mark there.  I get it, but I don’t like the daycare thing.  I just miss him when he’s not here.

That was just an assessment to see how he’d fit in with the other dogs.  Report card was good!  They said he played really well with the other dogs & he is very well mannered.

Finally, a Chris Cornell signature Gibson guitar!!!!!

Win a Dimebag Darrel package!!!!!!  Please send me the mini-amp to practice or better yet trade it in for this or preferably this.

Joker trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Darker, not for kids, & a great origin story, from the looks of it!

If you vape, please read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the main reason I don’t like to stream music.  This & the fact that I don’t own it.  Actors don’t complain about video streaming services though, just musicians about music streaming.

Lyrics for the “Tool” album out today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY dear Lord, WHY?  I gave up on “Disturbed” over a decade ago, I’m not in my mid-20s anymore!

Labour day classic here!  Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers!  Always a fun game to attend!  Kim’s not a football fan so her & Brewster stay home.

Pretty easy to say that I see a FLOOD of “Tool” news coming, ASAP, beware!

Spider-man breaking news, new deal between SONY & Disney?  Still a rumour, but possibility of a better outcome for fans.  SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN AVENGERS ENDGAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t do reaction videos I like to sit and REALLY concentrate on what I’m listening to the first 3 or 4 times I listen to any new album.  After that I’ll play it whenever if I enjoy it & probably really focus in on it again when I have the time.  2 HUGE album releases for me today!  Big Wreck & a new Tool album after 13 years & roughly 4 months.  These are the singles that were already released.

BIG WRECK   …but the sun

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “The Watchmen”, “Tool”, “Coheed and Cambria”, “The Struts”, & “Smashing Pumpkins”

I could sit here & tell you about my weekend activities & I will, but first something out of the ordinary.  Kim & I watched the movie “Stronger” on Thursday evening.  The movie about Jeff Bauman who lost his legs during the explosion at the Boston Marathon.

I’m not comparing his injury to mine EVER.  He lost his legs, I still have mine.  While watching it, I realized how much a-like our emotions are/were.  How much I could relate to that movie on an emotional level.  I didn’t get all teary eyed watching it, it was more of a “Hey, I’ve felt the same way.”

Friday we ordered supper from “Brown’s Social House” it’s been a while since I’ve had fish & chips.  We watched the first episode of season 3 of “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix.  Meanwhile I’ve been trying to finish the 2nd season of “Mindhunter” on Netflix, I’m almost there I finished episode 7 so 3 more to go.  Kim doesn’t watch it, just me, much like “Criminal Minds”.

I think I figured out what caused me not to sleep well over the week?  I usually have 1-6 alcoholic beverages over the course of a weekend.  I didn’t have any, in the attempted to save some money & I just didn’t feel like any.  I never drink anything other than water, black coffee, & “Bubbly”.  Bubbly is my new favourite drink.  Carbonated water with natural fruit flavouring, which is a very small dose of the fruit.

Went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders game Saturday evening.  WOW penalties!  Time for our head coach, Craig Dickenson, to start handing out fines for each penalty.  Riders won against the Ottawa Red Blacks but it was ugly, far too many penalties!  Final score was Saskatchewan 40 Ottawa 18.  Terrible amount of Rider penalties & really stupid ones on top of that.  I never “BOO” the Riders at home but I was very close on Saturday!

Today we went to our friends’ place for a BBQ to welcome their exchange student from Spain.  Nice weather & just as we left it looked as though there might be a storm brewin’.  The wind picked up & the clouds got really dark!

Ozzy Osbourne to release 24 vinyl box set.

Jeff Buckley was absolutely FANTASTIC & still is!

Bands that made 1 good album.

So now the “Avengers” movies have to change the story line?  Really stupid after steering us in one direction only to pull us in a new one after “Spider-man Far From Home”

Disney + streaming November 12th?  Looks good!

A metal/hard rock group from the USA.  Other than that I can tell you there are currently 4 members.  They sometimes get lumped in with acts like “Disturbed” & “5 Finger Death Punch”?  I can’t say I listen to either one.  I did listen to both in 2002 then stopped after each band released their 3rd album.  “Disturbed” is on me & “5 Finger Death Punch” is on my brother who saw them open for “Korn” likely a once in a lifetime chance for him to see them, even though neither one of us owns an album by “Korn”.

Anyways, “Chevelle” is the way to go if you ask me.  I’ve got 9 studio albums, one of B-Sides & rarities from late last year & another one coming soon this year or next.

My mind it says yes, but my body says no “What do you mean?”

Yes I referenced Justin Bieber, who I don’t own but it is catchy tune.  I do own a TON of “Walk off the Earth”.

My body is sore & tired.  I did my exercises on Monday.  Woke up Tuesday & knew instantly it wasn’t going to happen.  Maybe tomorrow or Friday, we’ll see?  It’s disappointing, but it’s needed.  It almost feels like I might be catching a cold but I’m not.  I felt like I might be catching one a couple of weeks ago.  After drinking a few liters of water, I was fine.

Writing this & watching TV, blu-rays or just listening to music is how I fill my days.  I do watch/listen to too much CNN though.

I had some time this week & watched the “Alter Bridge” blu-ray with the Parallax orchestra.  If possible, switch it to surround on the opening menu.  If you listen/watch it in stereo, you’ll be waiting for the orchestra to start since you can’t really hear them in the stereo mix.  Other than that, I give it an A+!  I’ll review it later, probably next week?

Tenacious D have an album coming out on November 2nd, along with an animated www.youtube.com series, featuring songs from the album, beginning on Friday, September 28th.  I’m going to hold off since their last album “Rize of the Fenix” didn’t do much for me.

OH, SNAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They’ve set a high bar with their last album as Lamb of God, can they top “Sturm Und Drang”?  I’m confident they can, even after the cover album under the name of “Burn the Priest”.

Really?  We need another ‘Grinch’ movie?  November 2nd in theaters.

Fair enough, the Jim Carrey one didn’t do anything for me.  I’ll watch the original on TV & see if this one is decent?

He made one REALLY FANTASTIC album.  Story I read was he drowned years ago at the age of 27.  He went swimming in a river he had swam in many times before.  I think his tour manager was with him on the shore?  Apparently a current got him, pushed him far down the river & eventually pulled him under?  That’s the story I heard anyways.  This was in 1997.  According to the autopsy, no drugs or alcohol were found in his system.  His only album “Grace” was released in 1994.  This guy has a phenomenal voice….

Please share this, I’m not profiting from this at all.  Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

I fell asleep to “Into Eternity” the album “Buried in Oblivion” followed by “The Damned Things” the album “Ironiclast”.  Moved to the couch when I woke up at 3 am & listened to “Foo Fighters” the album “The Colour and The Shape”

I’m just doing light exercising today, just to get my leg moving.  To this music “Oasis” the album “Be Here Now”

Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

Waking up at 3:00 am because your leg is causing discomfort is not cool.  I got up & slept on our couch.  I didn’t want to flop around & bother Kim & our couch is much firmer than our bed, which seems to be a good thing for me.  The exercising I’m doing is very light in order to heal my nerve pain, just get it moving.  Leg lifts, calf raises (holding on to my transfer poll & standing on my toes), my stretches & then walking with my walker when Kim gets home from work.  It’s necessary someone assists me just in case.  I’m more than tired of this nuisance.

I have a question & I’d like to hear your thoughts please.  There’s a 20 something year old NFL player.  Every week they get a mandatory day off to do whatever they like.  This athlete chose to fly to Florida I think it was?  He got on a boat with some friends to spend the day on the water.  He put a photo of all of them together enjoying the day on social media.  He showed up the next day for the game.  He’s dropped 3 passes all year.  When he played after a day on a boat he dropped 6 passes.  Was that because of how he chose to spend his day off?  If there wasn’t social media many people wouldn’t know about it, & who’s to say that it, A) Affected his performance.  B) Does anyone know this is how he routinely spends his day off just & doesn’t post a photo on social media?  C)  Why is the team relying on one player determining the outcome of one game?  D)  What do other payers do on their day off?

Is he supposed to go over a playbook on his day off, or should he do what he wants on his day off.  Should he work to live or live to work?  Do you live to work or do you work to live?

Lamb of God shared it….

Still a really FANTASTIC movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alter Bridge win best rock album, best rock song, & best rock band at the www.loudwire.com awards.  They’re pushing the boundaries of rock to metal almost with a great singer!

These are my 2 preferred versions of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”

Gotta give Jeff Buckley some major respect!  I couldn’t play any of his stuff on guitar.  That being said, I was just good enough to call myself a “guitar player”.  I was a singer that played guitar, mostly to hide behind, my on stage security blanket.

Babymetal win 5 www.loudwire.com awards.

My mother has seen more than her fair share of people having cancer, especially since I was diagnosed in 2008.  Her mother died of breast cancer in December of 1999.  Since my diagnosis she’s seen many people not survive.  Our family friend who she met at work, our friend’s mother, my grandfather, my aunt, and another friend she met at work, & unfortunately her cousin has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer recently as well.  I survived, I’m fine wheelchair & an eye patch, but I’m here!  I don’t think she needs anymore deaths to witness?  That list of people is more than enough!

People worry about me, too much sometimes.  When I eat, I HOOVER my food.  Sometimes I choke.  I had a rough day of chocking on food, & I was with my family.  I coughed & choked a few times.  I was fine & everyone was concerned.  I get it, that’s fine, annoying but fine.  This happens 1 or 2 times a week.  Everyone freaks out & in the end I’m OK.  Do people know that I also cough & “choke” at lunch when there’s nobody around?  I’m fine, please don’t worry about me.  If I hadn’t had cancer, I’d still be OK & people wouldn’t worry as much about me.  Hold my beer & watch this!

Lamb of God isn’t metal?

I tried to learn these 3 songs before I was diagnosed.  Too difficult for me!

Yet, these 3 songs were pretty easy to learn?????????

If I can’t play it or play it on guitar while singing, it doesn’t happen.

I just can’t get into “Superjoint”, & I’ve tried listening to it.  Song inside the link.

I guess keyboard players have their place.  Usually they’re in the back & not seen much.  Too bad Elton John & Billy Joel aren’t included on this list?  Neither is the dude from Foo Fighters or Pearl Jam though.

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “B”, as in Big Wreck

I avoid the Superbowl at all costs. The game is usually a side show to the commercials we don’t get through cable in Canada. Most people watch it since it’s the championship game for the NFL & for the half-time show. I’m all for the CFL but even it has been boring this year & last year. The NFL has never impressed me & the Superbowl is right around my birthday at the end of January. The half time show I’ll watch the next day on www.youtube.com

There’s already people throwing up red flags about Bruno Mars being the half time entertainment. Fair is fair, he’s not everyone’s preferred act. Remember, you can’t please everyone all of the time!

I ask you this. What has been among the top songs of this year? Oh, “Uptown Funk” would be one of them, along with a few others. So what would you like to have as the half time entertainment? Bruno Mars is hot at the moment & will increase the number of viewers which is what the Superbowl is all about, making money for the league. Off of the top of my head you have these 3 options & maybe a few more I can’t think of at the moment….

Can anyone think of another song off of Mark Ronson’s album other than “Uptown Funk” feat. Bruno Mars? I can’t, I didn’t buy the album, I bought the song & attached it to a Bruno Mars album I already own.

What sparked this conversation? This….

I’m not the be all & end all of music. There’s quite a bit of music I know nothing about but I like discovering stuff I’ve never heard. Please teach me?

I went to Moose Jaw today around 10:30. My mother was getting fruit there off of a truck from B.C. I think it was? Brewster & I went for a “car ride”. Nobody can say either of those words around him unless he is going for a “car ride”. He gets really excited & instantly worries he’ll be left behind, as well as frantically looking for his “leash”, another word we can’t say around him. Moose Jaw is about 40-45 minutes away. After 10 minutes roughly, he falls asleep on my lap until the vehicle stops!

This is from their 2nd album “Clumsy” which was their breakthrough album

The Agonist shared it, so here it is. They were in Regina last week on Thursday at The Exchange, I really wanted to go but I don’t go out much on weeknights & Kim doesn’t like metal.

This Muse album will be the biggest disappointment this year for me. I had really high hopes for this album. Their 2nd , 3rd, & 4th album were great studio albums as well as their 5th/Live at Wembley CD/DVD (H.A.A.R.P.) LANGUAGE!!!!!

This is from their 4th album

Here’s my favourite venue for live music in Regina! Fun to play at The Exchange & a great place to take in a show.

Nothing I can find on www.youtube.com there is a 3 song EP on iTunes though. Yep, a local group from Regina. They sound REALLY good, if you like metal music, and somewhat like Pantera. Justin Bender did the recording of the album. I don’t think I’ve seen them live yet. If it’s any bit as good as the CD is, I’d call it a success.

Guitar amps sound better at 11!

We did wake up one day last week or earlier this week to this song being played on Kim’s alarm clock or phone.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AWFf7EAc4 What a fantastic way to start the day!

I was streaming the Big Wreck album earlier and noticed something. The song “Hey Mama” was a demo that I downloaded from Thornley’s www.myspace.com page before I got sick. Sounds pretty different now.
