I slept away Saturday almost. Got up, Kim tried to go to the gym, but a water main broke at the gym, so Kim & Jolene went for coffee instead. Sherry texted Kim while was still out & wanted to go shopping. I was asleep on the couch & got up at 6:00 pm. Extremely lazy day for me. Sunday was quiet. Here we are on a long weekend Monday, just sitting around with an ice pack on my extremely sore. I’ll post this & then you won’t hear from me until my nerve is all better.
My doctor should be in the office tomorrow, hopefully with a referral for a cortisone shot. I’ve been to my chiropractor, a massage therapist, & a physio therapist since mid-November. A cortisone shot is my last choice. He told me they can mess with the bone structure. I’ve had 7 since 2008, I think I’ll be OK.
3rd Ed Sheeran song from his upcoming/3rd album coming out on March 3rd.
Kim threw out her back yesterday? She took some Tylenol when she came home yesterday. She’s home today since she can’t really move. She’s in bed at the moment.
Yes, I grabbed the new “Lamb of God” album last night to listen to while going to sleep. I fell asleep too fast only heard half of the album. I’ll let you know that the firs 5 songs are REALLY good for fans of “As the Palaces Burn”, “Ashes of the Wake”, & “Sacrament”, as for the rest of the album I’ll tell you more next week.
The music I listen to can be very offensive to others, & I get that. That’s why I don’t force my music to be played here on the stereo when Kim is home unless it’s something we both like or if it’s “….my birthday…..”
Rap music is my Kryptonite If it’s not “Beastie Boys” I’m out! Yes I like Bicardi rum!
For me most country music & rap music aren’t for me, slightly offensive. I don’t go to football games for the music. I say just play country music & 75% of the crowd will love it. Yes, more country music, I can tolerate it, it won’t make my ears bleed……………..much.
I forgot, I fell on Thursday doing my yoga. Not the first time & likely not the last.
Can we talk about wussy baseball players for a second? Good, thank you! There was a day game in Oakland yesterday. Blue Jays SS (Short Stop) had a ball thrown from the outfield. It bounced twice. Once on the ground, & once on the base runners back into Jose Reyes’ teeth, he left the game. Why?How many times have I blocked a ground ball with my chest, have a ball hit my head while at bat with a batting helmet on, etc. Just suck it up & maybe EARN the multi million dollar pay check to play a game? I’ve taken a baseball to the mouth before, no blood, stay in the game. I’ve left a game twice with an injury. Stretched tendons in my knee after colliding with a 1B player, & running flat out into foul ground to catch a pop up then two steps later running into a chain link fence, bending the top about a foot while getting a bruise, winded, & possibly some cracked ribs? If you’re being paid millions of dollars to play a game, suck it up & get on the playing surface Especially baseball, a baseball won’t hurt you unless you let it! Play the ball, don’t let the ball play you. I’m pretty sure one of my coaches said that.
I guess his “free world” doesn’t allow him to grow any of his food? I’m pro GMO, I’m cool if you aren’t ONLY IF you grow you grow your fruit & vegetables in your garden, if not, you do a scientific study & prove that 60% are wrong.
Watch the results from the audience after the debate , 32% pro, 30% against & 38% undecided before the debate, between scientists. After the debate 60% pro, 31% against, 9% undecided. I don’t vote, so I can’t complain, until you’re growing your food in your garden the way you want, what gives you the right to complain? It’s hard to argue with 1000s of scientific studies that result in favour of using GMOs. I guess the scientists keep getting it wrong?
Layne Staley, Alice in Chains, was offered the singing duties for “Audioslave” before he passed away from a heroin over dose. Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, got the job.
Songs I like. “Melissa Auf Der Maur” the red headed bass player for Hole then The Smashing Pumpkins. She released 2 solo albums, one of them you will not find.
Facebook page is just a link to the blog. Email or other blog notifications are just to let you know there’s a new post from me.
I have a question. Has U2 found what they’re looking for? Honestly, they were my favourite group once I heard “The Joshua Tree”. Then I grew my U2 catalogue with everything up to & including “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”.
I’ve gotta say the new ‘Muse’ album “Drones” I was really excited for but it’s starting to ware off already. It’s great but not really what I was expecting? Tremonti came out the same day & really surprised me with how good it was!
Muse starts off really good then goes on a slow decline after this first track.
Pentatonix doing the “Evolution of Michael Jackson”
Is it just me or does it seem as though musicians are pushing their albums out really fast? Last week she announced the new album & today there’s a single & an expected release date for the fall? That seems really quick to me. I would think someone would release a single, announce the release date for the album once it’s recorded? I don’t know how things like that work, but it seems as though many artists like to work “under pressure”.
Don’t know why? This has been stuck in my head lately? I must need an “Odds” fix. This album was released in ’93, I’ve listened to it around 4 times since 2008 & it still holds up for me.
I don’t want my music streaming. How about a subscription to iTunes? I can download for free while Apple pays the artists? We’ve always been able to purchase vinyl, cassettes, CDs or digital files & now you’re taking away the opportunity to own music? If you’re paying them a decent amount for a streaming/radio site, maybe take a look & do the same with iTunes so I can download it & own it instead of paying for renting music for the rest of my life? Look at what you made & what’s wrong with it then fix it? Don’t just build a better mouse trap, fix the old one? More reaction to this topic… http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/86370?utm_campaign=nme-june-22-22-06-2015&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter
If I can’t OWN it legally, torrent files it is! Where you pay $0.00 for anything digital. You take my stuff away, I’ll take your’s away. I have nothing against others using a streaming service. For me it’s like renting an apartment, once you stop paying, you lose the apartment. If you’re paying your mortgage eventually you’ll own your living space. You’ll never own the apartment by paying rent.
Personally, along with many other baseball fans this is not right. Pete Rose bet on his team to win one game he was managing not playing in & he bet on them to win. Suspension, fine I agree, lifetime ban from baseball not right. Baseball is currently looking around the corner of inducting steroid users into the ‘Hall of Fame’. If one steroid user get’s in, most of the fans will react in a negative fashion. http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/features/pete-rose-is-finally-out-of-second-chances-20150622
Songs I like. “John Mayer”

Gotta say, I’m really enjoying Tremonti’s “Cauterize” & Muse’ “Drones” albums right now! I listen to my iTunes through the home stereo more than on my iPod.
I guess this Beck single is pretty good. Sounds like something I’d buy & never listen to though.
Music fans deal with stereotypes as well, everybody fits in to some sweeping stereotype that isn’t true for everyone involved. I like hard rock & metal. Before I was in a wheelchair, I’d go to these type of shows & get a pat down before entering the venue. Fair enough keep it clean keep it safe. After being patted down with nothing on me to be found, they’d let me in. There was one show that they asked me if I had a cell phone & if it took pictures. I told them yes, they asked me to take it back to my vehicle. Whoever I was seeing requested no photos or videos during the performance. I had no intention of doing either, but I did what I was told. No big deal? Now I’m in a wheelchair, they look at me and quietly say “Ah, he won’t hurt anybody”. I never went to a show with the intent to hurt someone or ruin the show for someone. There’s always a few bad apples that slip “…..through the cracks….” & do something stupid to causes security to see if your bringing a weapon or drugs in to the venue. Look at the Craven Valley Jamboree. A Country music festival though I’ve never been to it so I don’t know if they pat you down at the entrance or check the camping tent, trailer or RV. I have heard of rape & sexual assaults occurring at the event. Police aren’t going to catch everyone going to the festival, that’s a ton of people & they’re not all bad people, a lot of them just want to hang out & have fun. I’ve never heard of rape, murder or assault at the shows I’ve been to. Security just wants to be assured that you’re safe while you’re there. If you don’t want them to touch you, I recommend a wheelchair! Bazinga!
This is the song I broke my nose to in a rock festival in’99. In a mosh pit in Saskatoon while watching one of my favourite bands.
Songs I like. “Islander” I only have the one album & I like it, at the same time I don’t need anymore from them. There’s an EP & maybe another full length album on iTunes?

Spotify, Google Play, Pandora Radio, iTunes, & CD stores suck at the moment. I want to own my music, so I use iTunes. That being said, who do you think is getting most of the money? Not the musicians but iTunes & the label are likely getting the bigger piece of the pie. Do you want a radio subscription until you die or do you want to go to sleep at night knowing your music is there and you own it, you’re not turning on a “radio station” to play music. You’re turning on you’re home stereo or iPod. All of that cheap music will be there no matter what. I still purchase the odd CD & as many
Blu-rays as I can fit in here. I don’t plan on having a Netflix account for the rest of my life. I’ll go to a theater, rent the movie on iTunes or just buy the movie. Free streaming sites sort of seem like a pirated product to me. Even iTunes for music isn’t all that & a bag of chips. How will a new group or artist be able to afford to go on tour if they’re broke? What if I don’t want to see them in concert? I like Taylor Swift’s “1989” album, will I go to see her in concert if she comes to a venue anywhere near me? No. I’m not huge on country music, which will likely be included in her show. I downloaded the album from iTunes. “You’re welcome! I just gave you pennies for your album that probably cost you $900+ to make”. That doesn’t sound right to me?
Yes, I have “Hoobastank”, “Iced Earth”. “In Darkness”, & “Idle Sons” I like the sound of these groups, but I couldn’t pick out one song in particular, so here’s what you’re getting today………
