Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

175 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

100 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

400 Crunches

400 Leg lifts

200 Squats

200 Back flexes

1 day of yoga

There won’t be any stairs during this virus stuff.  I don’t really want to touch a public railing or clean them before & after I’m done.

No planking this week.

I fell asleep to “In Flames” the album “I the Mask”

On Wednesday I exercised to “Foo Fighters” the album “Foo Fighters”

Welcome back to the program!  You’re here so if you like what you see, might as well subscribe?  Either on Facebook or with your email in the bottom right corner, it’s really that easy & it’s free!  I know you want to tell your friends, go ahead!

As of yesterday, that makes 15 years of marriage official for Kim & I.  Sure there’s been ups & downs, I still wouldn’t want to go through any of them without Kim, the strongest person I know.  I may have had to go through the rehab for brain cancer, but she had to watch me go through it & help me (still) along the way.

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, she’s the brains/looks/humour/brawn/quick wit, etc. of this marriage!  I get us into trouble, Kim gets us out.

We’re pretty low key so our day wasn’t overly extravagant.  Coffee in the morning, dad brought me flowers & gin…maybe I was supposed to give the flowers to Kim??, ice cream for lunch, relaxing day on the couch followed by order in supper for 2, oh and Brewster got his tail in my ice cream & sneezed on me in the car……again!

If I could take back the 4 ½ years for her of us living in hospitals, I would in a heartbeat.  She didn’t & doesn’t deserve any of this.  I got cancer, not her.  For that reason alone I think it’s unfair.  What happened to me happened to me, I wish I didn’t have to drag so many others through, & Kim pretty much went through it with me & still does every day.

I never want to see anyone suffer, you know who often suffers the most?  When it’s something that happened to me or was caused by me, the people I love are effected the most.

As for the exercise this week, I stopped after my Wednesday exercise.  I took off Thursday, for obvious reasons, then figured I might as well take Friday off too.  My body was REALLY sore when I woke up Wednesday.  That extra bit of planking must have really affected me.  Next week probably only 3 planks & some walking along with my other exercises.

I spent my free time on Wednesday stretching my left hand & fingers.  I’ve been playing mostly my acoustic guitar to exercise my left hand muscles.  I felt it from the middle of my forearm to the tip of my fingers Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.  Couldn’t even grip my water bottle to open the lid with my right hand, it was that sore.  Played on electric guitar & it was fine, everything felt normal.

….& this is why I don’t play classical guitar.  Leave it to those who are WORLDS beyond my aspirations like Ben Winoski.

These 408 pickups don’t exist anymore, they’ve been improved and are now called TCI pickups which are in the guitar I’m saving for.

SE Paul's Guitar - Aqua

Meanwhile I hoping no harm comes to anyone if this ordered guitar is shipped to me this year?

S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow Body Guitar w/Gig Bag - McCarty Sunburst

I look at them online so much they’ve been automatically added to my home screen.  I have addiction issues I guess?

Now if you’ll excuse me I have a few hours of www.youtube.com guitar crappé to watch.  clinics, demos, Q & As, followed by some practice.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Finger Eleven” the Self-Titled album

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Hurts 2B Human”

Kim is done with her teeth now.  YAY, dentist bill.  The hits just keep on coming.  She was still numb from the freezing on Monday & crashed in bed with Brewster.  Next, some tests for Brewster’s heart murmur, then whatever medication he needs.  Now we are actively house hunting.  I just lay in bed & see $$$$$ floating away, then Christmas is coming

Brewster has been surprisingly active lately up & about, wandering around & wanting to play.  He’s been sleeping 23 ½ hours a day the past year & a bit.

I’m currently dealing with a bladder infection.  No pain since I drink so much water.  When I have to pee though, get out of the way because I’ll burst within a minute.  Because of this I’ve had to cut back on my fluid intake lately.

Another blood test coming up to see if I require one of my medications.  I’m guessing I’ll still need that medication as time goes on.  Then I see the cancer doctor next year sometime again.  MRI first & then the appointment.  She was suspended, not fired.  I hope she learned how to treat patients?  MRI & that appointment are the last 2 things I look forward to doing now.

I’m fine, how long do we have to treat me like a crystal ornament?  Will I be safer if I’m wrapped in bubble wrap?  This is getting old, & I have other things to do.  How about I get checked out when something feels off?  I’ll go in annually for a blood test & an MRI, if the doctors see something they don’t like, then I’ll go.  That would work better for me.  I could spend that time exercising, cooking, practicing guitar, hanging out with friends, visiting their kids, cleaning, get a job, etc.

I’m getting REALLY tired of people treating me like a rare jewel, can I be a normal guy for ½ a second?  Sometimes I feel smothered.  Which can be both a blessing & a curse.  I can’t clear my throat twice in a row without at least 3 people asking me if I’m OK.  If I cough more than once, HOLY CRAP I must be dying!  I get it, but it’s annoying.  It’s been going on since I left my rehabilitation program July of 2012.

Here comes Halloween.  13 musicians/groups that actually scared people.

I’ve never been scared at a concert.  The most entertaining ‘Shock Rocker’ show I’ve ever seen was Rob Zombie.  Alice Cooper was more about the music than shocking people when I saw him 15 years ago.

New video from The Struts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More importantly how is James Hetfield’s alcohol rehab going?

I can’t believe this album is 25 years old!  That means I’m getting old!  I was in “grade 9” at the time.

Yes, I still listen to them.  I still like to hear horns on a rock album, same deal with Bruce Springsteen.  That’s a very rare sound on almost any album.  I’ve got a TON of Huey Lewis & The News” albums, so I won’t put a song from each album.  They release a new album last week, no I didn’t get it.  It’s just not the same.

Seems like keyboards/synthesizers are making a comeback on rock albums now too.  I’m good with keyboards as long as they don’t go full on “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.

Anyways, here’s some of “Huey Lewis & The News” Hits from back in the day.

From the movie “Back to the Future” check it out kids.  Legendary trilogy!

Kim just doesn’t get the credit that she deserves!  Sure I can do stuff on my own, but without Kim, I likely wouldn’t be alive today.  All through the cancer crap that went on, she was right there with me 24/7 for 4.5 years.  She told my parents “He’s not going to die.”  Why did she say that?  She wasn’t going to let me die!

We don’t have kids, A) We can’t afford to have a kid.  B)  I’m not confident I’d be a good father.  C)  I’m a dependent already.  I can’t drive to the drug store for my refills or cold medication.  I love Kim.  She’s the one that does stuff to help me when needed.  I try not to take her for granted, but at times it may seem like I do.

I know it’s a cliché to say “She’s been through thick & thin with me”, but it’s true.  All of the cancer stuff aside, she’s AWESOME!  I couldn’t love her more!  If she wasn’t so shy, I’d love to introduce her to the world!!

Friday finished with Kim & I just watching some Netflix.  Saturday the Toronto Blue Jays won against a ridiculously good team in the Houston Astros, the Saskatchewan Roughriders also won their first game of the season here against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  The Riders are now 1W-2L.

Today is looking quite relaxing.  My cold is almost gone.  I’ll be watching the Blue Jays game, which has already started (I record them all just in case this situation arises).  Then we’ll get ready for the week!

I see a TON of video blogs on www.youtube.com that are titled “Top 10 reasons people hate _____________”  Hating a band would take a lot of energy that could be focused on something positive.  One reason to not like a band is that they’re not what you want to hear.  “…..Simple as that……”  One reason only, the only reason needed.

I was listening to the latest ‘Megadeth’ album “Dystopia”.  I found it much better than I had initially thought.  Pretty good album I’d have to say.

I find this oddly convenient since it happened at the same time “Nickelback” & “Stone Sour” were both releasing an album.  “Nickelback” on June 16th & “Stone Sour” on June 30th.  I think the trash talking was reported right around “Nickelback’s” release?

Starting Pitchers for MLB teams are having blister injuries on their throwing hand.  The baseballs this year are travelling on average 7 feet further when hit.  The reason for this is that the baseballs are much harder & the stitching on them is noticeably lower.  The stitching being lower will cause pitchers to put more pressure on the stitching to make the ball spin the proper way.  So many pitchers around the league are experiencing a blister issue for the first time in their life.  I would hope the commissioner of MLB will rectify the issue for next year or they may have to resort to a pitching machine?

I have no albums preordered for the month of July.  Actually nothing until August 25th when Queens of the Stone Age release their album.  I do plan to see the Spider-man Homecoming movie though!

I’m taking Monday off from the computer all together. Sorry, tomorrow you’re on your own

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!!! Probably

Yes, I went to Saskatoon on Friday to see “Trivium” on tour for the latest release “Silence in the Snow”

Lead singer & rhythm guitarist, Matt Heafy, seemed to be a much more confident frontman & knew how to work the crowd. It was pretty cool to hear the audience sing along with this song over the PA before “Trivium” came out!!!

Great show! Thanks to Mitch & Rachel for letting me tag along! We heard 1-3 songs from all 7 albums but the first album. Show was in Saskatoon at the O’Brian’s Event Center” a security worker saw me in a wheelchair as Mitch was pushing me up the ramp & cleared a spot for me at the counter they have cleared out for me the last 2 times I’ve been there! Trivium did a one song encore of this song.

Great show & it was done by 11:15 pm or so. We were back in Regina by 2:00 am.

We stopped for supper at a pub a few buildings down the street that opened in 2013, ended up missing most of the first of 2 opening bands. AWESOME service there too. Our waitress sat down with us, asked us where we were from, if we had been at the restaurant before, said she’d help us with the extensive drink menu as well as the dinner menu.
