Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

SHORT WEEK, I’LL CATCH YOU ON FRIDAY!!

Music throughout the weekend. “Metallica”, “Halestorm”, “The Beaches”, “Foo Fighters”, “Tool”, & “Tremonti”

Left for my family’s cabin Friday after Kim finished work & when we were done packing on Friday, shortly after 7:00 pm.  We ate en route, it’s almost exactly a 1 hour drive.  We haven’t been there the last 2 years, & no, it’s not winterized.  One of my cousins from Manitoba was there with my mom & another couple most of the week.  Short trip, but well worth it! We stayed up Friday with the guys watching “Hot Fuzz”, an instant classic, on Netflix & the girls playing cards.

On Saturday we drove to Chamberlin to ‘Twisted Sisters’ for some always tasty ice cream in the afternoon.  An appetizer for a meal of deep fried tiny fish bits, seasoned & deep fried potato skins, & deep fried turkey.  Thanks to Ray & Karen for the great meal.

We stayed up to play cards & drink, all 7 of us, on Saturday night.  Dad & Ray have been working at remodeling the cabin & have made the washroom easier for me to get into aka more accessible for me.  I believe there are more changes to come, & I’m anxious to see the finished product, so far it’s looking very good!

Drove back home on Sunday, just to get some stuff ready for the week.  Just do some of the stuff for the week ahead.  My body was absolutely craving water & vegetables.

I guess the “Into Eternity” release on Friday was only a preorder?  I’ll grab a CD when I see them next time in concert if possible!  They’re from Regina so I’m sure I’ll see them live!

Dave Grohl plays all of the instruments on 23 minute song.  Interview with Jimmy Kimmel!

HALESTORM

A brother & sister along with two friends.  The group is based in Philadelphia.  They call themselves a metal band, I would call them a hard rock group though.  3 guys & one girl.  The drummer is the singer/guitar player’s younger brother, the two friends are filling the sound on bass & lead guitar.  The brother & sister started the group in school at a talent show.  The 2 of them played & a fellow student asked what their group was called she replied “Halestorm” since their last name is Hale.  They have 4 studio release albums, 1 live album, & 3 EPs of 6 songs each of cover songs.  Their 4th studio release came out on July 27th, 2018.  The first 2 albums I find to be very similar.  I like both although they’re both very similar.  I’ll give you 2 songs from each of the first 3 albums & we’ll see what happens with the latest release…

Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

Had my breakfast, then showered & weighed myself.  I was 265 pounds going into the hospital, the photo of me playing guitar in a white T-Shirt is me at 265, with a 38” waist, I came out of the hospital having a 42” waist, & today I’m 225.  Only problem is that some of my T-Shirts still don’t fit.  All of my fat went to my stomach.

I fell asleep to “Megadeth” the album “Dystopia” followed by “Vinyl Hero” the EP “7 Days on a Train”

I was watching CNN/”the fake news” all about the new guy, but I don’t need to tell you about it, it’s messy already!

Yep, I start physio therapy this week.  It’s long overdue that I get rid of this pinched nerve nonsense & get back into exercising.  I know that’s an odd thing to say but humans are creatures of habit.  My routine has been altered for over 2 months & I miss my routine.  Sitting around, stretching & very light exercise each day is really boring if you don’t have a driver’s license.

Top 50 hard rock/metal debut albums

There’s a lot of great choices there.  I’ll pick 2 from the list & there could at least 12 I’d pick.

Pearl Jam shared it….

Phil Anselmo, former vocalist of Pantera, reading a Sesame Street book.

I guess ‘Supergrass’ are still around latest release was in 2013, who knew?  I only own their Greatest Hits album from 2004.

I wonder what movie ends playing “Caught by the Fuzz”?

I have a question for you? I’ve been watching a www.youtube.com series called “Banger” with the review episodes called “Lock Horns”, made by Sam Dunn who made the documentary “A Headbanger’s Journey.”  The 2016 ending had a large board of “metal” bands.  Am I so jaded that I don’t consider “Coheed & Cambria” metal? I like their music, I just don’t consider them as a “metal” or “hard rock” band, should I?

My left hand doesn’t work that well.  I wish I could try out a mini original Nintendo or a Sega Genesis if they come back.  I looked up the price of a mini Nintendo, but no way Jose!

All of that being said, I really don’t have much free time for video games.  The newer controllers have too many buttons for me, even when I was able bodied.

New “Ed Sheeran” video.  I really like this tune, or Ed Sheeran in general!

Alter Bridge shared “My Champion” live…………….

New Opeth video

I guess “Trivium” has a new drummer

WINTER’S COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Trivium’s” ‘Silence in the Snow’ album. I’m tired this week. I’m not taking the week off, just scaling my exercise back a bit. Instead of doing 2 out of 7 exercises a day, I’ll do one this week. Today was 40 leg lifts on each leg from my hands & knees. Tomorrow will be something different, what? I don’t know?

I can tell winter is very near, not just by the calendar either! Here in Regina, Saskatchewan, with no daylight savings time (which I like), it’s quite dark by 7:30 pm. When it’s full on winter (December & January) people go to work when it’s dark & come home when it’s dark. Kim & I would carpool to work when we started at the same time. She would start at 7am, so my boss would let me come in an hour earlier than everyone else. Kim eventually changed to 8 am, so I would just come in at the same time as everyone else. The print shops we worked at weren’t that far apart in town, & our initial house wasn’t far from them. When we’d carpool in the winter it was always dark in the morning & nearing the dark when we’d come home. Thank goodness for remote car starters! Go to the kitchen window, hit the button & let the car warm up a bit! Seat warmers, I just don’t like. I didn’t have them growing up, so why do I need them now?

I’m different than most Canadians! Everybody wants to go on a warm all expenses paid resort vacation in the winter,………………..NOT ME! I hate the heat when it’s above 23 degrees celsius. Just too hot for me. That’s roughly 80 degrees fahrenheit for those not on the celsius scale. Just remember, if it’s cold I can layer up, if it’s hot I can only get so naked……………………………legally!

10 best cover songs by “Pearl Jam”. Lot’s of songs I had no idea they’d cover & a couple I’ve heard and/or have seen live.

Proof that Donald Trump is your drunk neighbour.

I can’t stand the WWE anymore. I grew out of it in the early ’90s or late ’80s. There was a claymation TV show that was pretty good though. I can’t remember, but I think I rented it as an X Box game?

Does anyone over the age of 24 even care about MTV or Much Music? Neither of the stations play music videos for more than an hour a day, from what I’ve seen on our guide?

The Glorious Sons…

Halloween is coming up. It just seems like extra work to dress up & go to a halloween party to me, more now than when I was in my early-mid 20s. It was fun then seem like extra work now.

“The Darkness” interviewed on Consequence of Sound/the Rock It Out Blog! I gave you 2 songs for reference & to “stir the pot” for my brother. First single from their first album & a single from their new/4th album.

This not the “Blown Wide Open” we know from ’97! This Ian Fletcher Thornley’s reworked version coming out on October 30th

This is the 1997 version we know well & have heard many times, yet it never get’s old. Both are good, it will just take me time to get used to the new version “Blown Wide Open 2.0?”

Songs I like, “Supergrass” a Greatest Hits from 1994-2004.

I wonder what song is played during the credits for this HILARIOUS movie. If you like Monty Python or Kevin Smith movies, these guys are for you!
