I fell asleep to “A Perfect Circle” the album “Eat the Elephant”

I exercised to “Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals” the album “Burn to Shine”

Brewster setup shop on my exercise mat this morning.  I just stayed there with him to scratch his neck, he’s getting old & I’ll really miss those little moments.

Perhaps “Paul’s Guitar” in 20 years?  99.9% chance of a maybe on the off chance I’m not happy with the guitar coming in August, which I highly doubt, if this model still comes with pickups that are different than what I own, if I choose to sell a few of the guitars I own, maybe there will be something better, hopefully the price is lower than $1300 for a low end guitar at the time, in the end probably not?  There will likely be a trip within the next two years & a house hopefully within the next 5 years, so a guitar = probably not.  Remember that as long as Brewster’s OK, then the guitar MIGHT happen?  I’m pretty well off in that department even now before I get my new one in August.  Crappé it’s only March!

Regular season baseball begins on Thursday, March 26th.  I’ll be relatively glued to our TV until the beginning of October.  The Blue Jays likely won’t be in the playoffs but I predict they’ll finish the season with a record of 75W-87L or 83W-79L games out of the 162 regular season games.  I think they won 67 games last year.  The first 2 months we’re older players that gradually disappeared for younger/potentially better players to take their spot throughout the season.

We picked up some toilet paper on the weekend.  It wasn’t because of what you think.  We just like to keep our butts clean, & the shelves were full of toilet paper, that or Kim’s “Magic”!

After seeing “The Weeknd” on SNL & tours that have been announced I can confirm: the 1980s synth pop sound is coming back.

“Barenaked Ladies” are hitting the road with “Toad the wet Sprocket” & “Gin Blossoms”.  “Matchbox Twenty” are taking “The Wallflowers” with them on tour.  The Canadian 1990s & early 2000s rock scene is getting a shot in the arm with 4 bands touring Canada this summer.  “Moist”, “The Tea Party”, “Big Wreck”, & “Headstones”

I’m thinking some stairs should be happening tonight?

I fell asleep to “Smashing Pumpkins” the album “Siamese Dream” followed by “Soundgarden” the album “Superunknown”

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” the album “Wasting Light”

During breakfast I listened to “Headstones” the album “Teeth & Tissue”

Had my breakfast & immediately threw it up.  Still feeling fine.

On to empty the dishwasher to “Led Zeppelin” the album “Physical Graffiti”

All is fine, now I’ll hit the shower!

Yesterday was a wasted day, all of my bones & joints were really sore?  I was fine Monday.  Tuesday it was just unbearable though.  Today was better, but still a little tender.  I did half the amount of all of my exercises (just to be safe).  I don’t want to have too many days where I’m not doing something, just makes it more difficult to ramp it up again.

When I went to bed Saturday night for some reason my legs just had a terrible ache.  For a bit there I thought “How does a 38 year old have growing pains?”  I don’t know what it was but I felt fine when I woke up.  I guess it was a glimpse into the near future

I really don’t remember much/anything of 2008.  Apparently I was in a world of pain when I was awake for an hour every day.  My mother & Kim tell me it’s best that I don’t remember.  The little I do remember is that radiation & MRIs suck if you’re extremely claustrophobic like I am.  I can’t remember how long a session of radiation or the length of an MRI was but wow, so not for me.  At least I came out of it well!  Each time I went for an MRI they’d give me a bean bag to throw if something was wrong.  I must have been the worst person to have an MRI done.  Each time I would throw the bean bag because I was terrified, so the bean bag, idea worked once then they must have thought I was the boy that called wolf?  It came to a point that I asked one of my nurses if she could just knock me out before I went into the MRI.  The Benadryl didn’t work the last few times though.  Heights & small spaces are 2 of my big phobias.

Ellen Degeneres is coming to Calgary for a Q & A.  Kim & I would love to go, but somebody, me, is going to far too many concerts this year & we are attending a wedding in Manitoba.  Also, if Kim’s not at work, she doesn’t get paid.  She’s working under contract, no benefits, vacation pay, or sick leave.  I was considering selling my tickets to one of them, but I don’t know if upgrading two tickets in the wheelchair section is possible?  I also bought those tickets for the reason that I WANT to go to the concerts.  I pulled all of the leaves off of our money tree with large portions of the branches too.  I’m terrible with money, but I’m Scottish I should be cheap?  Not with music though.

Summer of 1998 I became a fan of Pearl Jam.  I bought the album “Yield” that was released in February of 1998.  I had a summer job, installing air conditioning in a senior’s home with a Tinsmith & his son who was also going into engineering in September at the U of R.  We’d start early at 5 am because the attic would get incredibly hot in the afternoon.  Every morning & afternoon while driving to & from work I was listening to that Pearl Jam album, then I’d play it at home as I fell asleep for a nap.  I went to a music store & bought the previous albums by Pearl Jam.  I couldn’t get enough of them.  “Yield” is one of my top 4 Pearl Jam albums, one of my go to Pearl Jam albums.  I wouldn’t say that I’m a hardcore fan of PJ, but I do like Pearl Jam.  I’ve seen them twice in Saskatoon in 2005 & 2011 while going through my rehab, even saw my physiotherapist at the 2011 show.  The albums “Ten”, “VS”, “Vitalogy”, & “Yield” are my favourites of their HUGE catalogue………..

10 good guy Dave Grohl moments.  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  In the video, there is an article also.

While we’re talking about Dave Grohl, let’s listen to this guy explaining how “Everlong” was written & recorded.

This makes it sound far more difficult than needed or how you can cut out a PILE of stuff & play it’s bare bones live, still works!

New “Queens of the Stone Age” video

I hope “Lamb of God” never let “Burn the Priest” see the light of day.  That album is terrible.  I had it, listened to it once & haven’t heard it since.  They used to be called “Burn the Priest” & released one album under that name.  You know it’s a bad “Lamb of God” album if I can’t tolerate it.

I fell asleep to “Paramore” the recently released album “After Laughter”

I exercised to “Rage Against the Machine” the self-titled album

I’m 37 now, high school was a loooooooooooooooooooooong time ago.  Next year, I graduated 20 years ago.  High school isn’t something I think of very often since it was so long ago.  It was very much a clique situation.  I wasn’t a jock, “cool kid”, a part of any labeled group.  I hung out with Timothy Wong, Jonny Amore & Guy McWatt.  When I wasn’t with them, Timothy Wong & I hung out with Faye Wallenberg & Jan Wagner.  Both of those groups were pretty much unlabeled from what I know.  My high school was ENORMOUS!  I think my graduating class of 1998 was 240+?  I know for sure it was over 200 people.  I played in the school band, quit that & joined the choir.  Choir stuck as an extra-curricular activity, then I auditioned for the schools Chamber Choir, I made it!  I never expected to be on the list but I was beyond surprised!  The music program was very well regarded, one of the best in Western Canada, how did I fit into that?

In grade 11 (1997) I figured I’d try out for the baseball team, I made that too!  Another thing that I was shocked with!  I was seriously lacking in self-confidence.  I figured eventually “What’s the worst that can happen?  I might as well give it a shot.”  Achieving those 2 things were both pretty cool to me.

That was the last year I played baseball.  Playing 3B on a city league team & my high school team, I ended up throwing my arm out.  It just ached all of the time.  As much as I would have liked to play the next year, I knew I was done, just when I got really good at striking out VERY consistently.  I had one single in my last 2 seasons!  My batting average must have been .008 over the last 2 years, that’s not a good average at all.  A decent average for a 3B is around .260 or more.  I played baseball from the age of 4 – 17 so 1984-1997.  By 1996 the pitching was too fast for me, good thing I knew how to field decently to play every day.

Those were my 2 hobbies.  That’s why I watch as much baseball as possible & know a bit about music.  I may listen to rock & metal quite a bit but I’m not against orchestral music or listening to one of the many Harry Connick Jr. albums I own.

I can’t tell you where this all comes from.  I come in here, in front of my computron & just write verbal diarrhea.  Whatever pops out.  Stream of consciousness, like one of my favourite books “The Catcher in the Rye”.  I haven’t read that in years.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

Since the release of “After Laughter” by “Paramore”, I’ve been on an intense Paramore kick, with all 5 of their albums.  This new one sounds completely different & there’s definitely a “Blondie” influence.  I’ve never been hooked on Blondie though.

Just wanted to show that I’m not the only one who hears a “Blondie” influence.

I went to see “The Proclaimers” last year at the casino.  I remember sitting there thinking to myself “I’m probably the only one here wearing a ‘Lamb of God’ T-Shirt that will be back here in 2 days to see ‘I Mother Earth”

With the Manchester bombing & all of the other garbage happening in this world, I’m thankful to wake up the next day, especially with Trump steering, arguably, the most powerful country on earth!  My thoughts go out to those in Manchester who went out to unwind & have a good time.

The world is a VERY UGLY place right now!  It’s only going to get better if we all work together.  Seems like there is hatred around every corner now.  Remember how some little picture said it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 10 or fewer to smile?  I say “Smile & Wave” more at people instead of frowning & shuffling on.  It’s an ugly “dirty world” out there, do what you can to help out someone, it doesn’t have to be a HUGE gesture.  Help an elder cross the street?

I feel sorry for the younger generation that will inherit this mess we’ve collectively screwed up.  At least we get a mood booster from Ellen Degeneres weekly!

Rockers react to the attack in Manchester

I totally agree with Randy Blythe, of Lamb of God! “..the human race must do better than this..”

I’m not against any religion or atheist, believe in whatever you choose or don’t believe at all.  What religious book are they reading?  What ‘God’ would tell followers to kill others?  Why do others have to conform to the same religion as the EXTREMISTS do?  Why aren’t the other religious followers of the same religion doing what the extremists are doing?

I’m not trying to take this latest attack lightly.  If you think about it ISIS are like the carnival game whack-a-mole. They pop up, mess with your day, and go back into hiding before you can get them.  Why?  Because members of ISIS know they did something wrong!

New ‘Stone Sour’ video!!!!!!!!!!!!  Album out June 30th

Apple Music playlist of recent rock releases.  I’ve got both “Highly Suspect” albums & a few on preorder at the moment.  “Stone Sour”, “Royal Blood”, & “Nothing but Thieves”.  I really like the “Muse” single as well.  I bought the single & attached it to my favourite Muse album or else I’d never listen to it as a standalone single.

Why so that there are more people to witness and be injured in a terrorist attack?  You need to think a step ahead of ISIS!  I don’t see adding more troops/security/police doing much unless they know what to look for.  Until our protectors change the game & get ahead, the same thing will continue to happen.   I’m not trying to say they aren’t doing as much as possible at the moment, but whoever they are, it’s time to change their/our approach.

Busy day, lots to do here.  Not much time for the computron or interweb today.  I’ll be on here later.  Mostly I’ll be watching the Blue Jay game today!

Sorry if this is late? Had to make a juice, & fix some iTunes files where you could buy a USB stick of the show after it was done. A Barenaked Ladies show here from 2007.

“If I had my way” the week & weekend would be split more evenly. 4 days of work & a 3 day weekend every weekend. I’d shoot for a 4 day weekend but that wouldn’t happen. “I’d make Friday part of the weekend” & make chocolate a high protein, no fat, no sugar food! I forgot too take my pills Saturday night aka I really didn’t sleep well. I woke up at 4:40 am to go to the washroom, fell back asleep pretty quick. I woke up, thinking I had slept for quite a while (I have no clock on my side of the bed), I got up and I always put my eye patch, glasses & watch on last. My watch said 6:30 am? I guess I didn’t sleep much at all? I don’t take sleeping pills anymore, I haven’t for quite a few years. I don’t know what pill makes me sleep out of the few I take? Those memory pills are working great!!!! I think they might be a placebo?

Making my juice or whatever you want to call it vegetables & fruit blended together. I turned on “Headstones” their 1st 4 albums on shuffle.

Check out these albums on iTunes.

I listened to this album 3 times last night, I couldn’t sleep very well? It’s not a beat you over the head death metal album. It’s a metal album you’d probably hear playing at comic convention. Imagine if the people from the star trek enterprise recorded a metal album? Like meringue, a light & fluffy metal album with songs that will stay in your head. Only 8 songs on it, but all around 5:00 minutes & one song at 10:00-13:00 minutes. This guitar riff sticks in my head.

10 metal singers who can sing you to sleep or scare you to death

Opeth & Slipknot sure yes, they are mostly metal. I know there are Tool fans reading this, are they hard rock or metal doesn’t matter either way to me, but I’ve never considered them to be a metal group?

Led Zeppelin responds to “Stairway to Heaven” lawsuit.

Like I have to play it for you??? I’m going to because I want to hear it!

Clutch could be completely different. Before I read this “….what I really wanted to know was……..” when does the next album come out?

Ozzy & Sharon feel like Metallica’s parents

I’ve seen Ozzy live as well as Tool, Foo Fighters, Barenaked Ladies, Big Wreck, The Watchmen, The Mayfield Four, etc. Ozzy & The Mayfield Four once, the rest minimum 4 times. Live is quite often better than the recording, as usual for me!

Neil Young’s about to release a new album June 29th, & tour with Willie Nelson’s son. Notice the headline to the article just says “Willie Nelson’s Son”, not the sons first name? There’s a shadow I’d want to get out of. Jakob Dylan of “The Wallflowers” is Bob Dylan’s son, & this person is this persons child, etc.

Mark Tremonti demoing a 100 watt generator for guitar amp!

HBO for us is $20/month extra for 3 channels otherwise I’d watch John Oliver’s show. He’s hilarious!

I miss these guys & opening for them so I could see them live for free!

Foo Fighters’ set list 2 or 3 songs I could do without. I’d prefer weird album tracks or B-Sides. Pretty good set list though!

Songs I like. “Headstones”

The albums are nowhere near as good as seeing them live. It’s really night & day to compare the 2. Yes the singer is High Dillon from the TV series “Flashpoint”.
