I fell asleep to “Barenaked Ladies” the new album “Fake Nudes” followed by “In Flames” new 4 song EP of cover songs “Down, Wicked & Not so Good”, then their album “Siren Charms”

So, no worries, all is well!  I just needed a day away from my regular routine.  Got back to my exercise & such the next day.  So only 3 days of exercise this week.  I couldn’t quite make it to the Christmas break to relax, I’m confident I can now though.  300 pushups, 300 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 180 triceps’ pushups, & 120 back flexes.  I need to do some cardio!  Funny thing is that when I was using an exercise bike 3 days a week, my exercise therapist would take my heart rate before & after 30-45 minutes.  It was 98 per minute before & after weird?  One day it went up to 108 after a session.  “Are you OK?” she asked.  I said “Yep, I’m fine!” it wasn’t a big deal to me.  I wasn’t breathing heavily or sweating at all, I was fine

I was watching “The Flash” TV show & learned something during it, since I used to think the same way oddly enough, “Why me?”  Then he answered his own question, “Why not me?” I’m not super or a hero, but I can deal with this situation.  Sure, I’ll have the odd bad day like anyone else.  In the end I’d rather be the one in my situation than watch anyone else go through this, it’s not terrible though I’m alive!  I’ve got a lot of support & that’s all I need.  So, hold my beer & watch this!

The connection from my computer iTunes to our stereo is out of whack still.  The only way I can listen to music through our stereo is if it’s NOT in my library.  I have to use our Apple Music account & not put anything in my library.  Believe it or not that really bothered me.

I had a mini-melt down Monday evening.  iTunes just went to shreds on me, & I was feeling a TON of stress regarding the Christmas season.  I spend my cash on 3 things, iTunes, concerts, concert merchandise & alcohol when I’m out of everything.  It’s nowhere close to what I used to spend on alcohol.  12 beer a month & 3 or 4 bottles of hard liquor 4 times a year.  I don’t drink at the football games because it is $9 for a regular size can of generic pilsner.  I can purchase a case of 15 pilsner cans for the house for $18 if I wanted to (which I don’t).

When the CFL is done with their contract to Molson Brewery.  I hope the teams can bring in local craft breweries (like the Roughriders intended with the new stadium).

Drummer, Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, hospitalized for heart issues, but is in good spirit & is recovering.

http://loudwire.com/black-sabbath-bill-ward-hospital-cancel-day-of-errors-tour/

Charles Manson died on the weekend as well.  Now Americans can rest assured that their taxes aren’t going towards keeping him alive.

Well we lost AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young last weekend.  I hope this isn’t the end of AC/DC for the fans out there.  I’m not an AC/DC fan, I’m a Motorhead fan.  However you know what you’re getting when you purchase either one of these bands albums.  I just prefer the sound of Motorhead.  Here’s Muse doing AC/DC’s “Back in Black” with singer Bryan Johnson of AC/DC.

A handful of concerts I’d love to go to but the money tree is bare & some are just bad timing for others to go.  I’ve never seen Queens of the Stone Age live, & they’re touring with Royal Blood as their opener.  I’ve also never seen Stone Sour or Halestorm live.  I am going to Big Wreck’s 20th anniversary of their first album “In loving memory of….” though!

These 2 above are making their way to Saskatoon, but it’s a Sunday.  It’s a co-headlining tour with 2 or 3 other bands opening for them.

I’ve also never seen Queens of the Stone Age live.  It’s May long weekend & many people are busy or just aren’t a fan of their new album & have decided that driving to Alberta or Manitoba isn’t worth it.

Stone Temple Pilots first performance of the new song “Meadow” with new singer Jeff Gutt.

Friday ended with Kim’s boxing charity www.kissthecanvas.com.  I’m not a boxing fan, it was very entertaining though.  I didn’t like the way she stumbled after a beating.  I think my mom just cringed the entire 3 rounds, each 90 seconds.  Saturday was very quiet for us.  We sat around doing the bare minimum.  Eat, drink water, washroom, & not much else.  We didn’t even make it to 11:00 pm!

Watched the CFL Eastern & Western finals at my parents place.  The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost & so did the Edmonton Eskimos.  So the Grey cup game next Sunday will be the Toronto Argonauts vs. the Calgary Stampeders.  I have no reason to watch the game next week.  If I had to choose.  Go Toronto Go!  I think anybody/almost everybody will be cheering for Toronto, who would be considered the underdog in this case.

Kim has tomorrow off.  I’m thinking that’s a good idea for me too.

This is the actual “Queens of the Stone Age” video I can never find

Can we just ban him from everything?  Maybe tape his mouth shut?

I did it, & I shouldn’t have.  I found another concert I would enjoy.  Stone Sour & Halestorm with guests February 4th 2018.  Stupid money tree is bare still.

He continues to make questionable movies, yet people still cast him.  His name is likely why he’s in some big movie all of the time?

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Concrete & Gold”, followed by “Big Wreck” the album “Grace Street”, & finally “Paramore” the album “All We Know is Falling”

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “In Loving Memory of…”

500 pushups, 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 200 back flexes, 100 triceps pushups

My hobbies prior to cancer were playing baseball from the age of 4 to 17.  Then singing in my high school choir, and singing & playing guitar in a handful of local rock bands.

I threw my arm out at 17 playing on 2 teams.  It still hurt a bit when the next season came around, so I opted out on playing baseball that year & just stopped.

Singing & playing guitar was my next hobby.  I think the last show I played was for a charity that helps those who are handicapped in Saskatchewan called “Kinsmen Telemiracle” just prior to me getting sick & getting help from that charity to purchase the wheelchair van when I could leave the WRC for the evening.

I haven’t felt any source of entitlement or great pride in quite some time.  I do like the fact that I’m able to do more things on my own, & that I’m able to achieve my exercise goals.  I really have nothing to complain about.  I still can’t speak very well.  I can’t sing obviously & practicing guitar is very frustrating.  Before I went into the hospital, I picked up guitar quite easily.  Now, my brain knows what to do, my hands don’t agree, especially my left hand!

I refused to play some songs I didn’t like.  Even my own songs I wrote in the first group I was a part of!  I wrote 3 songs but really didn’t like 2 of them, unfortunately the other guys did.  Found out the hard way I should just write the lyrics.  I guess a cover band is the way to figure things out.

Now I listen to a TON of music, & watch as much Blue Jays baseball as possible.  I follow the NHL as a scoreboard watcher, I only watch a minimal amount of the games though.  GO MONTREAL & EDMONTON!  Those are my teams.

THAT’S ALL FOR THE CANCER TALK FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the looks of it on Facebook, “Halestorm” is recording their 4th studio album.  I’m guessing a release date by the end of March?

Kristen Bell (Magnum PI) interviewed by Dave (Letterman) Grohl

This is the time of year Facebook really slows down as far as music & other pop culture stuff slows down.  There will be American Thanksgiving, then Christmas.  I have one more album being released this year in a few weeks.  So here I’ll review albums that have meant a LOT to me.

U2 “The Joshua Tree”.  I was a big U2 fan for a long time, I still go back to many U2 albums.  My mother bought me this album for Easter one year, & regretted it the second I wound out my boom box listening to it.

The other BIG U2 album for me was/is “Achtung Baby”

Then the album “Pop” by U2 was released & was met with divided fans.  I loved it, but was struck by a Canadian band in 1992 & another in 1996!

I fell asleep to “Big Wreck” the album “The Pleasure & the Greed” released in 2001.

I exercised to “Probot” the only album, all instruments played by Dave Grohl then he sent copies to his favourite metal singers to do the vocals.  Album release was in 2004.

400 crunches, 400 pushups, 400 leg lifts, 160 back flexes, 20 minutes of planking.  Next week I’ll try to add some triceps exercise.

Finishing with 5 minutes of planking, then my 100 pushups at the end of my exercise is easily the hardest thing to do.  Once I finish my pushups, at the end of my routine, I roll over on my side to breathe deeply so there’s no pressure on my lungs.  I don’t like exercising before I do it, but afterwards I feel like I’ve achieved something.  I feel better!  All of those times I’d hear people say something like “Oh, I feel great!”  “Oh, this is the best feeling ever!”  I always thought they were a little “Crazy”.  Before I exercise, I try very hard to procrastinate, but the promise of breakfast works as a really good motivator!

When I moved from the Pasqua hospital to the Wascana Rehabilitation Center in 2009, I went through a deep depression.  I constantly cried & apologized to Kim.  I always felt as though I did something wrong to have cancer.  I know it wasn’t my fault.  When everybody was calling me a “hero”, I bought into the hype & lashed out at others.  No, that’s nowhere near who I really am.  I don’t like to be called a “hero” or “victim”.  I’m in the middle, as I see it.  I got VERY lucky & I’m alive.  I’m a normal guy that got really lucky, surrounded by many friends & family members.  I’m alive.

THAT’S ALL FOR THE CANCER TALK FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little bit of my struggles with Apple.  Without exaggerating the number, I think I’ve made 8-10 calls to customer support since September began.  I have been polite throughout this time with them.  My problems baffle the customer service people though.  They help me fix 1 problem eventually & 2 days later another issue appears.  I’ve even “downloaded” stuff through the Apple Music streaming site that they use as a band aid when they have no other solution, even Apple Music is now screwed up!  To say that I’m frustrated doesn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg!  I’m going to leave it as is & ask if Kim will field a call for me at some point.

ASCOT ROYALS

“Ascot Royals” opened for “Big Wreck” in February.  I wasn’t really expecting anything.  I thought it would be a “Ho hum” moment, another ½ hour before “Big Wreck” hit the stage.  I’m SO glad I go to every show in time for the opening act!  They were surprisingly really good.  They live in Ontario, but I think the singer mentioned that they were all immigrants?  Don’t quote me on that.

They have 1 full album out & a 7 song EP on iTunes, I assume they’re on streaming sites as well.  The full album was released in 2012, the EP was released earlier this year.

I can confirm that “Muse” & “Halestorm” are both in studio working on their new albums.  I saw photos of both in the studio!  Separately of course.

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Concrete & Gold” yes I got it last night, I’m really not sure about this album.

I exercised to “INXS” their “Greatest Hits” & as most times silence after the album is done.

500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 500 pushups, 200 back flexes, & 25 minutes of planking.  I check Brewster’s food & water dishes, then exercise, eat, then shower & make myself look respectable.  I know what you’re thinking “Does he just wake looking that bad?”  No, I wake up far worse. It takes quite a while to polish this turd.

All of this exercising does make a noticeable difference when I practice walking!  Not only that but I’ve dropped 46 pounds, slowly.  I eat better now & I drink around 2.5 liters of water.  I no longer crave sugar either!  Friday & Saturday are the only evenings I drink alcohol, usually 2 or 3 drinks each night or more if it’s a special occasion.  Then when Sunday comes I don’t touch any alcohol until Friday!  This not only makes me feel better & more alert, it helps out our bank account.  There’s even been a few weekends that I just don’t feel like drinking alcohol.

5 days a week I eat the same thing for breakfast & lunch, supper is commonly healthy as well.

I may weigh less than I ever have but all of my fat went straight to my belly aka a lot of my T-Shirts still don’t fit.  “I’ll have to do cardio more often”-said no one ever!

Don’t forget Foo Fighters’ album “Concrete & Gold” is out now for all to enjoy!  I’m a HUGE Foo Fighters fan. Was I listening to The Beach Boys or FF last night? Initial awesome songs & some miss’. I like The Beach Boys, in small doses. Foo Fighters had a plethora of harmonies on that album though. I listened to it twice last night, I’ll have to sit down & give it a good listen.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave Grohl audio/video interview with Lars Ulrich of Metallica

“Prophets of Rage” is also out today!  I like “Rage Against The Machine”, but I’ll wait to hear it all before I buy “Prophets of Rage”.

There’s also a (Deluxe) (Remastered) version of Radiohead’s album “OK Computer” with 11 bonus songs.  Their 2nd & 3rd album for me, are absolute necessities!  As for this remastered bonus version, I’d buy a few songs but I’m good with the Radiohead albums I own on CD.  There’s a band who’s first 3 albums are really good!  I was so excited for the release of their 4th album “Kid A” which turned out to be a HUGE disappointment for me.  They kept a lot of fans & likely lost a lot of fans but gained a lot as well.

2nd album

3rd album

The first Radiohead album is good, it’s more of a “grunge” album though.

Wait, wait, wait!  “Steel Panther” waited 2 decades for hair metal to be all but gone, then released their first album?

A phone for $1000?  Will it call or receive phone calls?  That’s all I need.  $15 at Walmart for a land line phone, I’m good with that!

I will never understand the adoration most Alter Bridge fans have for the album & song “Blackbird”.  It’s subjective like all art is I guess.

I exercised to “Corrosion of Conformity” the album “Deliverance”, followed by “Alice Cooper” the album “Paranormal”

Yes, I’m getting tired of talking about him & watching CNN like it’s going out of style.  He’s on a 17 day vacation.  I’m sure I have never taken 17 days off in a row since I had a summer break in elementary school!  How do you lead one of the most powerful countries in the world & just relax for 17 days?  Does this mean American’s get 17 days off too?  Crap, he still has Wi-Fi & his cell phone, be ready twitter followers.  I guess there are some renovations going on in “…that dump…” now as well (The White House according to Donnie).

Stephen Colbert nailed it saying “Change the locks while you’re at it”.  Hahaha! I feel sorry for the American public!  Nothing but bad news for our neighbors to the south.  Didn’t turn out the way most of us wanted.  But just like a random mass shooting, what ya gonna do?

With Donnie on vacation for so long, I hear there’s a term position available at the White House!  Hillary, Bernie you have plans this month?

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” a concert in Montreal from 2000 that I recorded on cassette since it was on the radio.  “Melissa Auf Der Maur” her album “Auf Der Maur”, “Metallica” the recent album “Hardwired……to Self-Destruct”, “Paramore” the album “After Laughter”

I exercised to “Halestorm” the album “Into the Wild Life”

I just couldn’t fall asleep last night, but I was awake & exercising by 6:10 am, had breakfast, shaved, showered, & done editing this

Exercise total this week; 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 300 pushups, 200 back flexes, & 25 minutes of planking!  Every day starts with me exercising, no shower, dress in workout attire, & no breakfast.  Once I finish my exercises, then I allow myself to have breakfast, shower, put on clean clothes, & usually in this room to work on the next blog.

Wednesday was 5 years of me being released from the WRC.  No more therapy for this guy.  It was sort of bitter sweet for me, I met some really cool people, but I likely won’t see them in person again.  People I’d see almost daily for 3.5 years.  It’s like when I passed out at work, another big change.  I did make it back to visit my former co-workers though, once.

As I’ve stated before, I don’t consider myself as physically disabled.  Sure there are many things I can’t do, many that I can, & some that I haven’t figured out yet.  If I need help with something, there is always someone willing to help.  Until I say I can’t do something, let me struggle until I figure it out, or until I ask for help.  Don’t be afraid to let me “…sink so I can swim…”  The further away I get from Tuesday February 5th 2008 & Thursday July 26th 2012 they become a distant memory that changed things a little bit.  I could continue to have a chip on my shoulder or much better, forget about it & move on.  I’ll easily choose the latter.

THAT’S ALL FOR THE CANCER TALK FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are the 5 songs from the Foo Fighters’ album “Concrete & Gold” out on September 15th

The following are live songs.  They likely include LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think any hard core Foo Fighters fan, such as myself, will be fine with the album & won’t hesitate when it’s released!

Would you like a Stone Temple Pilots bundle of vinyl, CDs, & a T-Shirt?

My super smart brother converted some old cassettes to iTunes files for me.  The high school Chamber Choir cassette that we went to Newfoundland had recorded a cassette of songs.  A Foo Fighters concert I recorded from the radio in 2000, & he tried to convert a cassette by Johnny Amore from my high school days.

If people are so terrified, they can avoid this tasty treat.  I’m not worried, bring on the Ben & Jerry’s!

What does Trump have to do to be impeached?  There can’t be much left?  Where there’s smoke, there’s probably fire.  There’s so much smoke at the moment, I can’t believe I haven’t died of smoke inhalation here in Canada?????????????!!!!!

REALLY?!  I MEAN REALLY?!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could easily do an entire post about Donald Trump going back on his own previous statements.  I don’t need to though.  Everybody has made up their mind on him, & I’m not going to waste my time or energy on him.  I think ALL of us should consider ourselves as Global Citizens & get rid of these dividing walls!  I’m not surprised by anything Trump does at this point, but I’m always extremely disappointed that he does whatever he wants.

Cool version of Aerosmith/Run DMC’s ‘Walk this way’

Alter Bridge shared it……

Pentatonix shared it & I’ll add another one from the same EP that I’m not sure about.

Every person has a different opinion & I respectfully disagree with the comparison to Disturbed & Five Finger Death Punch.

I’m not in my early 20s anymore.  I have 2 Disturbed albums in the closet behind me.  My brother saw Five Finger Death Punch before cancer, B.C., he burnt copies for me.  I have no clue where they are, & I’m more than happy about that.  They were cool for a week when I was 26 or 27.

Those 2 bands among many others are why I don’t listen to Regina’s “rock” radio station.  I do love Trivium though, they’re too heavy for the “rock” radio station.

Hahahaha!!!!

My weekend starts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
