Friday evening Kim went straight from work to our friends’ house to babysit the kids as our friends were at a wedding.  I was home with Brewster watching the Saskatchewan Roughrider game in Montreal on TV.  The game was called official & cut short in the 3rd quarter because of a bad storm.  Lightning, thunder, & rain.  First time that’s happened in the CFL.  Riders were ahead at the time, so the Riders won!

Saturday I already made my juice on Thursday, so I boiled my eggs.  Kim & I watched the end of Stephen Colbert, & a condensed baseball game to see one of the NY Yankees go crazy after being tossed out of the game for doing nothing in the dugout.  It was the player beside him on the bench that said “He’s @#$#% terrible” regarding the umpire’s strike zone.  Kim went to see the outdoor “Garth Brooks” concert at the football stadium with 3 other people.  I went to my parents with Brewster.  In retrospect Brewster & I should have stayed home.  He barked constantly because he was always on the wrong side of the backdoor & he has to wear a diaper when he’s inside since he’s almost 14 & started marking in whatever house another dog lives in.

Today Kim’s doing some laundry & Brewster & I might accompany her on a grocery trip?  Then Kim & I plan to relax & watch a movie.

OK, Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide while in jail.  The media will have to speak about this.  While doing so, I hope they continue to talk about the mass shootings.  If they don’t, I’m sure nothing will change in regards to gun control.  Any politician that can, will sweep the shootings story under the rug.  So do we talk about a big shot that sexually harassed under age women & committed suicide while in jail, or the multiple people that were victims of the mass shootings?

 

BAD RELIGION

I have 6 of their albums.  I’m not a huge fan of punk but I do listen to a bit of it, these guys reach my heaviness limit for punk.  I had some “NOFX” & “Fidlar” as well, I just found that too heavy of punk music for me.  I’m much more tolerant of heavy metal music.  All of that being said, I know nothing about this group other than the oldest album I own of theirs was released in 1988.  Here we go, 1 song from each of the 6 albums I have….

3 day exercise total; 400 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 300 squats, 200 back flexes, 250 curls 10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm, 150 tricep lifts w/5 pound weight, 100 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

My weekend started yesterday.  Full plate for Kim & I today.  Monday the house was out of order for me to exercise.  So no exercise on Monday either.  As for next week, I have no idea what’s happening after Saturday, lots of moving parts up in the air. So HAPPY August long weekend, I’ll catch you Sunday or Monday & then maybe Friday or Sunday?

 

I feel like I’ve been slacking off this week with only 3 days of exercise.  That being said, exercise shouldn’t be all that a person should focus on & it’s been a busy week, as I expected.

Kim painted our suite & the house is very close to looking normal again.  Just waiting for the paint to dry completely for her to put the 3M hooks back up to hold photos & such.

I’m seriously thinking of doing my exercise in the morning as usual, taking a break & doing more of the same stuff in the afternoon.  Likely 50-100 more of each exercise that day?  That won’t happen for a couple of weeks but it has been rattling around in the ol’ noggin.

TONS of people say that I do a lot of exercise, true, if that’s how you want to look at it.  Lately it feels like I’ve hit a plateau & I seem to have a little more gas in the tank?  I guess I’ll see what I feel like after the next week?  I might rest for a bit & do more after an hour or two?  I’m pretty lazy so, we’ll see?

It’s summer & a break is needed.  With the long weekend coming seems like a good time to be a couch potato for a bit.  After the weekend I might continue to be a lump or get back to exercising?

 

This type of thing happens at rock/metal shows, this is how I broke my nose in 1999.  I wasn’t in a wild mosh pit.  People were very respectful & cleared a path for me to security & first aid when they saw my nose bleeding.  I was holding up a crowd surfer when another one was tossed in my direction & landed on my face.  It was really fast, no one to blame at all, accident!

The first person to see anything happen or get out of control will tell the individual with the microphone about the situation & that person typically stops the show until things calm down.  The crowd is there to have fun, not to hurt anyone!

New “Tool” album titled “Fear Inoculum” out August 30th.  Tool’s entire catalogue is available for streaming & other digital platforms as of Friday, August 2nd.

It’s only taken 13 years for them to release a new album.  I believe this may be the final album on their contract?  If not this album, it is definitely the other one in 13 more years.

Saskatchewan Roughrider home game Thursday night!  Sadly, I’m positive that next season will be my last.  If Regina wasn’t hosting the Grey Cup next year, this would be my last year for sure.  I’ve been going to the games since my Grandfather could hold me on his lap.  I went to one game in my last ½ year during therapy for my cancer, so I missed out on those games.  It’s become a financial burden for a luxury.  One income gets spread out thinly.  We could use the extra cash for other/more important things.

I enjoy going to the games, I can watch them here, not pay $9 for a beer (which I don’t).  I can buy 4 tall cans of tastier/imported beer for the price of 2 generic beer at the game.  With this being the 3rd or 4th season at the new stadium, everything sky rocketed in price.  Food, beverages, & tickets.  Can’t afford it, it’s time to “LIVE IN THE NOW”!  Well, the Riders won, VERY entertaining game.  It finished with a score of 24W-19L final scoring play was a touchdown for the Riders with 2 minutes or less in the game.

As much as I’ll miss the atmosphere & intensity in the stadium, saving the price of season tickets alone will be better for us.  I go to the games with my parents now.  I think this is the last season for my mother?  Dad & I are going next year & calling it quits after next season.

 

 

ED SHEERAN

You know him & you’ve likely already made your decision on him.  Either way, this is my take on his latest album.  I will say that I’ve been a BIG fan of his last 3 albums.  This one didn’t seem to fit with the others though.  I like it & applaud musicians for taking a risk & going outside of their safe space.  Unfortunately this album was not to my personal liking.

This album featured numerous guest artist on almost every song.  Most of the guests were rappers, I’m not a fan of rap despite the fact that Sheeran himself sings & raps on a fair amount of his songs.

There were only 2 stand out songs for me on “No. 6 Collaborations Project”.  1 included Justin Bieber while the other included Bruno Mars & Chris Stapleton.

2 songs on a 15 song album doesn’t make it a good purchase by me.  Why did I buy it?  I preordered it because I’m an Ed Sheeran fan.  I still am, unless he proves me wrong with his next album.

 

How did the Toronto Blue Jays make out at the trade deadline?  EPIC FAIL!!  If it’s possible to give a -0%, that’s how I’d describe it.  Reporters, broadcaster, analyst, & the other 29 teams in the league all chimed in & were left shocked & speechless regarding what they traded away for so minimal in return.

5 pitchers & 1 REALLY good infielder, gone!  What did they get in return?  Prospects in the minor league system aka nothing that will make an impact for another 3-4 years, that’s how long they just made the current rebuild.  It’s Wednesday as I write this.  Who’s the starting pitcher for Thursday?  I knew before but they just traded him in a 3 player package for a minor league OF prospect who’s projected to be a bench player at some point, since he’s failed 3 times already in the major league.

I’ll paraphrase what one analyst said on air.  ‘I’m looking for a silver lining in these trades.  I can’t find one?  Anybody else on the panel have one?’  Nothing but dead air.

2 top of the 5 man starting pitching rotation were traded.  With guys brought up from the minor league system to help with injuries & fill roster spots, the Jays have have 4 starters with minimal MLB experience.  Toronto just became “Who?” ville.  Well, as a player it’s their job, as a fan, I just watch for entertainment.  In the end it’s not really a big deal for me as a fan.

Then they played last night while I was at the football game & won 11-2.  What do I know?

Monday was a BIG no!  No exercise, my body needed a break.  Tuesday was the day to start doing things the right way.  Saturday & Monday I did eat my regular healthy breakfast.  Monday was healthy eating all the way through, Sunday wasn’t.  We found a new hard ice cream place, which we visited Saturday & Sunday.  Not healthy in the least, but worth every spoonful.  “Dandy’s” on a service road just off of South Albert Street.  Kim wanted ice cream again last night after we looked at a few Toyotas (I don’t know where she’s finding this money)?  I think we’re going again tomorrow?

So we stopped at “Dandy’s” for ice cream after 2 minutes I broke after saying I didn’t need anything.  “She said” to me “We’re here & you’re not going to have any ice cream?”  Then about a minute & a half I said “OK twist my rubber arm”

While I was getting my massage on the weekend, the therapist asked me about my exercises.  So I told her about them & she suggested using weights instead of putting so much pressure on my wrists.  I called Kim on Monday to see if she had time to pick up some dumbbells on her way home.

Tuesdays & Thursdays are now weight exercises, lil’ yoga, & LOTS of stretching.  Yeah, all of that still takes me a little more than an hour.  I leave the weights on the floor by the couch, & I’ll randomly do more on my weaker arm, the left arm.

 

Not your body.  So why do they need this law?  Is this how they do things in “Game of Thrones”?

Yes the Tony Iommi, the guitar player of “Black Sabbath”.  He did a solo album with a different singer on each song, some guests played an instrument for the song they appeared on for vocals.  Apple should get their act together since this album is a long ways away from already being out of print & not on iTunes or Apple Music.  I own the CD since I bought it when it was released.  This is 1 of the 8 CDs I own that are nowhere to be found now.  “Oh, but streaming & downloading sites have everything!”  In a perfect world they should, but streaming &/or downloading sites don’t have everything, neither do I, just the stuff I bought at the time.

Anyways, here are a few tracks from this FANTASTIC album.  Yes I bought it because Dave Grohl sang & played drums on a song!

Yep, back to exercises this week.  I actually lowered 3 totals to make sure I’m getting everything proper & the results I would like.

I had a temporary Physiotherapist, an older lady who was very nice.  She asked me if I was a body builder, I just laughed & replied “Hahahahaha, far from!”

 

2 things & walking isn’t one of them.  I do miss playing baseball but I quit after the season in 1997.  My arm was ready to fall off, playing 3rd base on 2 teams.  I got a call one night to play with the A level team, I was on the B level team.  I declined since I was a useless hitter & I had a team practice that night.  Company soft ball was fun though.

I don’t miss playing guitar & singing, sort of.  I don’t miss the 2:00 am nights on the weekends when I load up my car full with my amplifier & guitars, & then return home & unload it all in the wee hours of the morning.  If I was famous enough to have a roadie do the heavy lifting, I might feel differently about that.

I do miss sitting at home, singing & playing my acoustic guitar just for fun.  Kim even mentioned once that she missed me doing that around the house.

I know my Grandfather, on my mother’s side of the family, couldn’t understand why my brother & I were playing this type of music or what we got from making our music.  We didn’t play metal, but we listened to some of it.  I can’t do any type of metal scream, before cancer or now.  I never had a “desire” to do so.  There were so many other people that trained to do those type of vocals.  We played heavy rock music, but listened to more metal stuff.

 

Affleck is out as Batman/Bruce Wayne.  Now the rumours start.

Ideally I’d love to see Christian Bale reprise the role!  John Hamm would be a graceful transition from Ben Affleck.

No, I didn’t watch The Oscars.  I own “Black Panther” & “Bohemian Rhapsody” I just want to see “Blackkklans Man”.  “Green Book” won for best movie.  Never paid any attention to it.  People will say to me “Oh, you need to see it!”  What, will I die if I don’t see it?  That’s the only time I ‘need’ to see any movie.

This was funny in the 1990s when David Letterman caught wind of the gas station owner, Dick Assman, in Regina.  Now SGI won’t approve a novelty license plate that says ASSMAN on it?  Did everybody lose their sense of humour?  Would this be allowed in the USA?  The current President says things that are questionable at best.

 

TOOL (NEW ALBUM THIS SUMMER, MAYBE?)

4 guys based in L.A.  The drummer, Danny Carey, is a part of the Mensa organization.  Guitarist, Adam Jones, worked as a special effects worker for film & TV, he now does Tool’s album art & videos.  All I know about the bassist, Justin Chancellor, is that he is their 2nd bassist & I believe he’s English.  Singer, Maynard James Keenan, owns 3 or 4 dojos, has a black belt in a martial art, owns & operates a vineyard in Arizona, & sings for Tool, A Perfect Circle, & Puscifer.

They seem to enjoy teasing fans with false information about any release they may have coming.  They aren’t metal, rock or anything else.  I’d just call them a progressive music act.  The rhythms are tribal almost, REALLY good

Tool is not a band that you’d just tap your foot to.  Very minimal 4/4 time rhythm.  Maynard doesn’t scream, he will shout on key, & he is a very good singer, not showy but does what is needed for the song.  He prefers to think of his voice as another instrument in the band.

In their live concert set up, the drums & Maynard are in the back while the guitarist & bassist are near the front but on the sides of the stage.  The majority of their songs titles & lyrics are meant to be double – entendre.  Such as songs called “Prison Sex”, “Stinkfist”, “Aenima”, etc.  This is meant to provoke the listeners mind.

They’re quite private & very smart in not telling their fan base when an album will be released or anything more than fans need to know at the moment.  Their catalogue started with an EP & carries on from there….

This is a bit late today, sorry.  We had eye appointments this morning.  Then we came home to do my exercises after & Kim bolted to a meeting at work.

So I guess this makes me 10 years & 4 days cancer free.  The doctors thought my cancer might come back in 2013.  Thankfully it didn’t.  I would have been disappointed, & I wouldn’t want others to freak out, but many would have.

I’m not scared of death, I’m scared of how I’ll die though (hopefully in 50 years).  I’m not afraid of being dead though.  Hopefully it means that I’ve accomplished all that I needed to & it’s my time to go.

How were my holidays?  Very good, but glad to do something productive aka I’m ready for a break from my break.  I got to see my wife’s family for our first Christmas this year, Kim’s aunt Lorna was here too!  They were here from the afternoon of December 20th & drove home on the afternoon of the 24th.  Then we had our second Christmas with my family at my parents’ place.  Family from Calgary & Winnipeg came here this year too.  Good holiday, great time seeing so many people!

We had multiple Christmas’.  Kim’s family, my family, Timothy Wong & his son Nicholas, Chris Hutton & Laurie with their 2 kids, & Corey McDonald & Jolene with their 2 kids.

 

Exercise total for 2018; 26,675 pushups, 14,560 tricep lifts, 26,710 leg lifts, 7,660 back flexes, 15,220 crunches, 14,440 squats.

Really quiet here.  I realized on Friday I had some other TV shows recorded on our PVR.  I watched them & one episode of “Making a Murderer” before Kim got home.  She had many TV shows to watch on the PVR, of course we watched “The Elle Degeneres Show” first, as usual.

Saturday I moved from our bed to our couch & kitchen.  Cereal, yogurt & rum, TV (not all at the same time) later on.  Then 4 episodes of “Making a Murderer”.  Kim is sort of watching it too.

Today, Kim got up & went for coffee with Jolene.  The 4 of us met each other in SIAST.  Corey & Jolene were engaged a week or 2 before us & married roughly 4 months after us.  Really good people, great friends, & awesome parents to our “niece” & “nephew”.

Went over to our friends’ place this afternoon, Chris & Laurie’s for an afternoon visit, also really good people, friends, & they also have 2 cool kids.

Now it’s get ready for the week time.

4 day exercise total; 400 pushups, 300 tricep pushups, 200 back flexes, 240 squats, 400 leg lifts, 200 crunches.

The thing I forget to do is stretch before my exercises.  I’ll start doing my exercise, then stop everything & stretch.  That’s a regular part of my routine, unfortunately walking isn’t.  If I had kept up with my walking, using a walker on my own wouldn’t be out of the question right now, I think?

Once I’m done my exercises on Fridays, my work week is over.  I work 1 ½ hour ASAP.  I’ll do some stuff around the house, I’ll make sure Brewster’s bowls are full, have my breakfast, shower, then hit the couch, sometimes with a coffee or usually with a full liter of water.

Fridays & Saturdays or special occasions are the only evenings I have alcohol.  2 or 3 on each evening.  The sugar in the alcohol usually makes me get up quite early.  The last time I had a hangover would have been before I got sick, 2007 or early in January of 2008.

 

What kind of world is this???  I don’t care if you’re a democrat, republican, white, black, brown, gay, transgender, straight, male, female, etc.  Are you a respectful human?  If so the USA could use your help in the White House.  Things are getting spooky south of us.

We certainly don’t need more guns in the world, but if you own a 3D printer & look on the dark web, I hear you can create one.  At this point the USA needs to ban semi-automatic guns & now 3D printers.  Thanks technology for creating printable guns, drones & robots or sex robots that I hear you can set to kill you, etc.  Anybody else think technology has gone too far now?

 

Well, Making a Murderer, wasn’t on Netflix last Friday.  I hear it’s coming on Friday, October 19th, according to Netflix.

I fell asleep to “Tool” the album “10,000 Days”

No exercise music today.  I forgot to put the remote on the charger last night.  I exercised in “The Sound of Silence”

 

Sunday was the last day of the regular season for baseball & many teams including the Blue Jays.  On Monday we woke up to a skiff of snow.  Seemed to be fitting, I guess.  This also marks the day I get to see Kim, for the first time since March 28th or so.  Game ended, I turned to Kim & said “Hi, it’s been a while.  I’m Chris.  Wanna hangout until the end of March 2019?”  Then I cried a little.  It felt a bit like Christmas & New Year’s Eve were over.  Hahahahahahahahaha!

I had to stay home yesterday (like I had plans anyway) to let some people in to change our pins in the door hinges.  Our front door now closes on its own.  I think it was changed for fire regulations, but I’m not sure?

Snowed here yesterday.  HUGE snowflakes.  Everything was white for about 2 hours, then it melted.  Still have to test the wheelchair in the snow.

Snow is back today.  Outside looks like we may have a blizzard on our hands?  The snow is coming down hard & it’s sideways!

I find it funny that I’ll say “Alter Bridge” or “Halestorm” only to be met with the reaction “Who?”  I’d much rather hear “No” than “Who?”  Alter Bridge released their first album, One Day Remains, in 2004.  Halestorm released their first self-titled album in 2006.  Alter Bridge was all over the radio at the time.  I’ll admit that Halestorm is female fronted rock band that I only recently, 2013 or 2014, discovered.

 

THE PRETTY RECKLESS

3 albums so far in their career.  The singer was initially actress her name is Taylor Momsen.  She is probably known best for her role, as a child, as Cindy Lou Who in Jim Carrey’s adaptation of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.  She continued acting, writing & I think modelling until 2012 when she went into music instead.  As I said they have 3 albums out & at the moment they’re either writing or taking some time off.

As a brain cancer survivor, I find that I have less energy than others who haven’t had brain cancer.  I can’t speak for others who have had different types of cancer & yes, I know more people who have had cancer than most people think, & I don’t know who was in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center for cancer related issues.  Either way that really isn’t my story to tell.

I know that not everyone wants to blab about their personal brush with cancer whether they’ve had it or know someone who has.  This blog wasn’t my idea, it’s meant to keep people up to date on my recovery & I agreed to it, I hope someone will benefit or is benefitting from this?

This is supposed to help with my hands, I find that I tend to use my index finger & thumb on each hand.  My left hand is useless & really isn’t steady at all to this day.

I had absolutely no energy or get up & go in me this week.  I was tired & sore, it was time to listen to my body.  So the exercise total is pitiful at best, for me.  I expect a TON more out of myself.

5 day weekly total; 200 pushups, 0 tricep pushups, 50 back flexes, 200 leg lifts, 100  crunches, 120 squats.

I’m going to hold off on the “Into Eternity” album & hopefully get it at a show in town.  You can find it on www.bandcamp.com for $15 as well.

My opinion on this subject tends to be met with fierce aggression.  You have right to your opinion as much as I do.  You can call me any name you like & I will gladly feed the rope!

You’d think a band like “Lamb of God” would be rich, you’re totally wrong!  They play multiple sold out venues every year all over the world, no not every show is sold out.  They record, they tour & what is there biggest source of income?  Merchandise that they’ve paid for to sell at their shows.  Not album sales, not streaming sites, not tour tickets, MERCHANDISE.  Think of how many people they have to pay for a concert or recording an album.

They go home to Virginia & do normal stuff, I’ve got it on video.  Fix/build a deck, cook, race cheap almost dead cars, go to a chili cook-off, etc.  What a lavish lifestyle for musicians of this century!  Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right.  Go ahead, drink more of the punch!  If you think that’s rude, you deemed it that way.  My opinion is that streaming music is terrible at best.  Wait until I tell you how I really feel!  Might as well chain smoke tobacco & become an alcoholic.  They’re both legal too, & they’ll kill you………..literally!  Ah crap, you have to pay for them, well that’s out of the question then?  Yes I drink, not in excess.  3 drinks tops on a Friday, & 3 on a Saturday.  If it’s a special occasion, only until I’m just a wee tipsy.

I only bring this up because iTunes are phasing out music downloads to compete with streaming site Spotify.  Both streaming services pay a very low amount to any musician.  CDs & downloads are said to be gone by the end of March.  I use iTunes for music mostly, & renting movies on occasion.  With music downloads going away, I’m not sure if I’ll use the original iPhone we have in a drawer without activating a number to it or if I’ll start a vinyl collection?  I know what I’d like to do, but that’s not financially realistic in my/our situation.

Do you have a laptop, iPad, or iPhone?  If so, did you have a desktop computer before?  If yes, thanks from Apple, you’ve given them a TON of money because they have convinced you that an outrageously overpriced phone is needed.  The only difference between all of these gadgets is that a phone makes phone calls & texts.

Before I get any fiery backlash regarding this.  This is not aimed at any individual.  If I wanted this to be private I’d email that person!

Let’s all bow down to millennials with an attention span of 1 second.  You don’t like a 3 hour baseball game or a 3 hour CFL game?  Great enjoy a 4 hour NFL game!  Remember the 6 second videos?  They were too long for a typical millennial’s attention span, so they shortened it to a 1 second video.  Well that was dumb!

I feel like the last one at the bar, searching for something that’s already gone.  Wait, I figured it out in a stroke of absolute GENIUS!  If I stream music for as long as said streaming site is operational, when they get shut down & they likely will, since only vinyl has stood the test of time, the streaming site has to let me keep what I’ve chosen to stream.  When a magazine goes out of business, they don’t take away previous publications.  My sister-in-law & brother-in-law have MOUNTAINS of older magazine publications.

Please clue me in on this?  Am I up the creek without a paddle or am I correct in thinking this?

Despite all of this why do previous musicians get to make more cash than current musicians?  Everybody is making more money due to inflation except musicians who are making less.  WHY?

 

ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS

All I have is a greatest hits album of theirs.  This is the other Elvis that nobody talks about.  He’s a very good singer/songwriter who is also probably a really good front man.  He’s English I believe & is married to Canadian jazz artist Diana Krall from the west coast of Canada in British Columbia.

Music throughout the weekend. “Alice in Chains”, “The Pretty Reckless”, “Halestorm”, & “Dead Sara”

I got a new water bottle a few weeks ago that hold 1 liter of water.  I have dry mouth.  If I don’t have something to drink or sugarless gum to chew on.  I drink a minimum of 3 liters of water a day if not 6 liters a day.  If I’m going somewhere that evening, I keep it at 3 liters.  Most days it’s 4 or 5 liters then I’ll go to the washroom once or twice in the middle of the night.  I usually chew sugarless gum at the Saskatchewan Roughriders games!

We stayed in again Friday night.  Watched the Toronto Blue Jays lose……..again to the New York Yankees 11-0 or 12-0, I can’t remember?  Then we binge watched 3 episodes of “The Fosters” on Netflix.

Saturday we binge watched more of “The Fosters” during the day.  I went to a Saskatchewan Roughriders game vs. the visiting Ottawa Redblacks.

The game clock started 56 minutes ago.  I’d like to see you demonstrate an offensive touchdown instead of relying on special teams & your field goal kicker?

Or you could just get a decent amplifier.  Guitar players are always searching for the perfect tone.  Guess what, it’s very hard to find, unless you’re lucky!  Find an amp that you’re 80% happy with.  Then there’s no need for any type of distortion pedal.  The guitar & amp are far more important than effect pedals, especially distortion & reverb pedals!

Certainly not my list “Rush”, “Tool”, “Led Zeppelin” & “Lamb of God” so far down the list?  I’ve never seen “Rush” or “Led Zeppelin” live.  From the many acts, rock & metal acts, I have seen live.  “Tool” & “Queen” would be at the top of my list.  I did see “U2” in ’99 or 2000, they were AMAZING!  They couldn’t be on a metal & hard rock list though.

Went to see “The Meg” with my brother.  Have you seen “Jaws” from the 1970s?  Either way, watch that for a shark movie.  Rachel wasn’t feeling great & stayed home.  Kim didn’t want to see the movie.  We went to my parents’ place for supper & met up with Kim there.

The Meg, we expected it to be a little loopy, my brother prefers “Deep Blue Sea” to “The Meg”.  I’ll leave it at that.  I did notice the odd nod to “Jaws” though.  Fun action movie though, not much more to it.

 

PENTATONIX

They have 9 albums out including the 3 Christmas albums.  They’re a 5 part vocal harmony group.  The majority of their stuff is all vocals with no instruments.  I think I’ve heard instruments in 2 or 3 songs, but it’s hard to tell.  They only have one full album of original material.  I’d like more of that but I can also see how that would be difficult in A Capella.  I don’t count the Christmas albums in any type of review but here’s a sampling of the other 6 albums….
