Music throughout the weekend. “Halestorm”, “Queens of the Stone Age”, “Tool”, “The Struts”

The second I posted Friday’s blog I went to www.youtube.com & there was already a review of the “Halestorm” album “Vicious”.  The album was released at midnight Thursday night.  WOW, I wait before I judge an album, I like to listen to it a few times & digest it.  That review should be a reaction video!

Here is utter ignorance at its best.  You realize they’re not just denying service to the #LGBTQ community!  I assume the rest of us that support the #LGBTQ community would boycott this establishment as well.  From what I know there is no location in Regina.  If I were to pass by one on a trip I might go in, buy a small meal, finish it, thank them & as I’m on my way out I’d shout “I’M GOING TO SPEAK WITH YOUR MANAGEMENT!  YOU JUST SERVED A GAY PERSON!”  Or I’ll just pass by & avoid a heart attack.  What if the employees have no gaydar?

“No, they sound too much like Led Zeppelin” – internet.  OK, if you don’t like Led Zeppelin that’s fine.  If you do like Led Zeppelin, why are you complaining?  Robert Plant, singer of Led Zeppelin, thinks they’re great.  If he doesn’t have a problem with them, why do Led Zeppelin fans?

I love Big Wreck but this sounds much like a specific Led Zeppelin song, other than a general sound.  Ian Thornley even admits that this song was heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin.

Friday was quite/tame here.  We stayed up too late, Kim hit the hay at midnight, while I stayed up to watch ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’.  Kim was grabbing some groceries & taking photos during most of the Blue Jay game, so I watched that since she really doesn’t care for baseball.

Saturday I watched more shark week & went to the Rider game that night.  Kim & Brewster were out & about while I was at the game.

Dear Saskatchewan Roughriders,

Today is get ready for the week ahead.  Make a vegetable juice, hard boil some eggs, bake some fish, & try to be positive about cardio for 5 straight days as well as other possible workouts.  Kim will get a few groceries, & finish up the little bit of laundry left to do, then a nice long weekend to look forward to!

4 guys from Newfoundland, Canada.  I think I saw them twice in Regina at ‘The Conexus Arts Center’.  I only own their first 2 albums, on CD.  I bought them in my teen years, the ‘90s.  One in 1996 & the other in 1997.  They released 10 studio albums & I believe band member, Alan Doyle, is currently a solo artist?  They’re known for being from Newfoundland & doing some traditional Newfoundland music.  I grew out of them when I discovered ‘grunge’ about 8-10 years after it exploded.

I must say that on the odd occasion that I do listen to them I like it.  It’s something completely different than my usual rock & metal music.

1996   UP

1997   PLAY

When these were released, I was still cautiously dipping my toe into heavier music.  I know I wasn’t into metal at the time.

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.

Give the site a minute or 2 to load all of the links & everything should be fine.

Hard rock fans, buy this “Red Dragon” album by Room 333, which is compared to “La Gargola” by Chevelle! https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/red-dragon/id917967693

Yes, it’s Wednesday evening.

Halestorm acoustic.

Foo Fighters before the airing of the final David Letterman show.

You know they’ll be asked to play Letterman’s favourite song!

I don’t use Spotify but they’re in the news

Can we just forget about “Guns n’ Roses”? It’s now “Axl n’ Friends”. “Guns n’ Roses” are now called “Velvet Revolver” & are still holding the torch for a new singer!

I don’t know anyone personally that likes “Vampire Weekend” but here you go if you do.

Festival line up in Las Vegas. I’m not touching Vegas however long the pole is! Yes, pun intended. I do like Stevie Wonder though, just not enough

Rock It Out Blog from Wednesday

Megadeth in the studio.

My favourite album ever! Released in 1997! Song not on the original release but on the 6 or 7 extra songs remastered version.

“Clutch” name 11th album & a few songs. Follow up to 2013’s “Earth Rocker”. Thanks Corey, I’m hooked!

Vegas metal show to be recorded for DVD, CD, & Vinyl release. No Jack Black & Jimmy Fallon will not be preforming. Boo hoo!

Good night!

Now it’s Thursday! Good morning all! People who say they feel great after a workout are one of two things. WRONG or LIARS! I workout I feel like crap it’s 9:44am and I should go back to bed! I read somewhere that sitting isn’t healthy for you. I’m in a wheelchair, I’m screwed. I should lay down more! Thank you!! I’ll be here all week! Enjoy the veal!

Yep, Foo Fighters played “Everlong” on Letterman last night, if you missed it here it is. I haven’t watched Letterman for well over a decade other than to see Foo Fighters on the show.

I’ve never heard a “Lamb of God” album that’s “schizophrenic”?

Some albums sound very similar throughout the album, that’s fine, I listen to that as well. If I were to make a chart it would do this..
I prefer diverse albums, those are what stick with me the most, like this stuff…

Jimmy Kimmel’s farewell to David Letterman

I think “Paramore” really likes this video. “This video has 36.000.000 views”! OK now it has 36.000.001 views.

Sting & James Corden sing a farewell to David Letterman

The Rolling Stones play secret “Sticky Fingers” show in L.A.

Judas Priest & Iron Maiden get mashed up.

Conan’s farewell to David Letterman

I’m not a fan of KISS or Metallica but I think any band that has the longevity & the number of albums they do as well as a legacy should likely just tour on their big albums that helped get them to this point. KISS, Metallica, AC/DC, Rush, U2, etc.

Roger Waters of “Pink Floyd”

Bill Cosby’s going down. I don’t want to believe it, but it’s true. I wish the women he assaulted had come out sooner to prevent this from happening to others. I also understand why they didn’t.

Jamie Foxx impersonating singers with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night

Paul McCartney wrote 7 or 8 new songs for an animated film.

I don’t use marijuana, but I’m all for legalizing it. Anyone that wants to use it is & really isn’t affecting those who don’t want to use it. Seems like more of a waste of time for the police to me, I’m good either way. Kelly Clarkson spoke about it in this article, that’s what brought it on.

Jack White answers questions about the streaming site “Tidal” he co-owns

I would recommend checking this Zac Brown Band album out very little flat out any type of music. I can’t really compare any song on this album to a song on a different album?

Here’s a few clips I’ve found of him doing cover songs I wouldn’t see coming from him. Would you ever expect to hear Queen or Rage Against The Machine at a country music band concert. WARNING!!!

Starts out nice & simple then, not so much

This was always fun to play at 2:00am

As morbid as this is, it’s true. The only certainty in life is that it will end, so don’t waste your time worrying about your death or anyone else’. Enjoy the present. Don’t worry about the past, you can’t change it, & you don’t know what the future will bring. Just enjoy your time here in the moment. I was scared about my death long before I had cancer, I realize now that there are some things you can’t prevent, so why worry about the next second of your life?

Songs I like. “Great Big Sea” released in 1996 &1997 their first two CDs which I bought when they were released. I saw them live twice, once on each tour. I don’t think I’ve listened to them since I graduated in June of ’98
