Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Live” the album “Throwing Copper”, followed by “Mark Morton” his solo album “Anesthetic”

I exercised to “Corrosion of Conformity” the album “Wiseblood”

Friday’s post on here will be later than usual.  “Mid-afternoon” or later.

I was up at 8:00 am on Monday & got straight to my exercises.  I usually listen to music, but we forgot to put the remote on the charger overnight.  Kim comes home at the end of the day & we hunker down to watch “The Ellen Degeneres Show” only to find the Toronto Raptors celebration parade was recorded in it’s place.  I purposely set it to record on a Canadian channel to avoid so many “Breaking News” alerts about mass shootings in America.  A couple of years ago it was a weekly occurrence.  I’ve never really been a basketball fan & I didn’t hop on the Raptors wagon.  Good for them, but not in my list of interests.

It’s been a quiet week thus far.  The next couple of days could be “EXTREME”LY busy?

I beat cancer & that’s GREAT!  Still annoying with the appointments.  Beats the alternative though.  My (cancer) doctors are always asking how I am, but with a head tilt in a really sympathetic voice.  I’m fine, but it’s getting old at this point.  I wish they would treat me like a “normal” patient.  They all did & are doing their job VERY well!

Going to the cancer clinic here is a routine now for me every year.  That’s not a typical routine for most people, it’s annoying, but again, I guess it’s a pretty good tradeoff for being alive & well.

I don’t really feel like a cancer survivor………………..until someone asks me how I’m doing.  Not that I expect them not to ask.  I’m just tired of being treated differently.  Nobody’s fault at all, but it’s been over a decade since I had cancer.  I’d likely ask the same thing.  I guess the iPatch, wheelchair, & my speech are a giveaway.  Ah well.

I’ve almost completely abandoned my pushups & tricep lifts.  Tuesdays & Thursdays are now just stretching, yoga, & weights.  They’re totally different muscles though.  I might throw in 100 pushups on those days?  Different muscles, but still working my arms on those days, we’ll see what happens next week?

I don’t know of any fans of “Ghost”.  Anybody that’s anticipating new music from them will have to wait until 2020.

It must take quite a while to finish a professional release?  Sum 41, Big Wreck, Chevelle, Alter Bridge, & Tool, all say they’re done recording.  I have 2 Sum 41, 2 Big Wreck singles, & one song from The Agonist from a future album.  Anthrax, Megadeth, & Pearl Jam are said to be releasing new material this year also.  I’m a bit worried they’ll all just unleash their albums all at the same time.

I don’t have Big Wreck on preorder.  A recent death in the band easily explains the hold up of a release though.

July = Sum 41, August = Tool maybe, October = Alter Bridge, & September = The Agonist.

Dave Mustaine, former lead guitarist Metallica & now singer/guitarist/founder of Megadeth has been diagnosed with throat cancer.  His doctors have a plan that has a 90% success rate.

If I can survive stage 4 brain cancer (5-15% chance of coming out of a coma).  I’m likely to think Dave Mustaine can beat throat cancer with a 90% success rate of surviving!

Dave Mustaine seems very driven to release a new Megadeth album despite his throat cancer diagnoses.  We’ll see, I wouldn’t blame if it didn’t come out this year.

“The Batman” villains in 2021?

Article/interview with Alter Bridge regarding new album & European tour dates.

Big Wreck announced tour dates.  A few in the Maritimes, & the rest throughout America.

WHAT???????  Facebook bans Led Zeppelin art work for the album “Houses of the Holy”.  I would think a band like “Cannibal Corps” would be the first target if they’re doing this?

ASCOT ROYALS (revised)

I made a mistake last time I wrote about them.  They’re not done!  I found a single on iTunes just after the previous blog about them.  This is the group I saw opening for Big Wreck a few years ago on their “Grace Street” tour at the Casino in town.  I thought they were REALLY good.  A bit softer than Big Wreck, they fit together very well though.

Single released in 2018   EVIL I KNOW

I’ll correct my mistakes on here it just might take a while before I notice them.

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you! Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

I fell asleep to “Boston” their self-titled album, followed by “Alter Bridge” the recent album “The Last Hero”.  Woke up at 2:30am in pain, moved to the couch and listened to “The Damned Things” the album “Ironiclast” followed by “Metallica” the album “Hardwired………to Self-Destruct”

I’m just doing light exercising today, just to get my leg moving.  To this music “Chromeo” the album “White Women”

Don’t feel as though you have to click on every link.

I did more exercise/stretching than usual yesterday leg lifts, calf raises, & other stretches.  A little bit until it hurt, then repeated it later.  Not much new here, just trying to get my leg/nerve ache to go away.  It doesn’t hurt al of the time, when I stand transferring to bed, the washroom, or the couch, I know I’ve got about 10 seconds before my foot starts to tingle.

Did anyone catch President Barak Obama’s Farewell Address?  There’s a reason I’m not a speech writer, I could’ve written his speech in a very few comments.  “Goodbye.  Good luck. I love my family.  I’m moving to a different country.  Obama out!  (Drop the mic)”

Pearl Jam shared it….

I would likely get bored with this album if I had it.  It won best video of 2016 at the www.loudwire.com awards though.

Even listening to it for this short amount of time, I know I wouldn’t listen to it, just not for me.

New Big Wreck song

I think he’s a fan of Led Zeppelin’s “Houses of the Holy”

He called it!  “Physical Graffiti” is my favourite Led Zeppelin album.  I immediately thought of the song “Houses of The Holy” when he said “Physical Graffiti”!

10 facts about “Tool”

I realized that two of my favourite albums are 20 years old this year!!! Man I’m old and one is 30 years old this year. Big Wreck’s debut album & Foo Fighters’ “The Colour & The Shape” turn 20.  U2’s “The Joshua Tree” is 30 years old this year.  All 3 were/are BIG albums for me!!!

The one thing about my music is I never put my entire library of music on my iPod on shuffle!!!

Jimmy Fallon plays Humannequins

Alter Bridge experimented on “The Last Hero” with 7 stringed guitars & odd guitar tunings

I fell asleep to “Anthrax” all on shuffle!

I exercised to ”Paramore” all 4 albums on shuffle!

My brain cancer diagnoses was in 2008. The distance from Tuesday, February 5th 2008 makes my cancer seem very insignificant sort of like “Ah, what the heck was that?”. Sure I’m in a wheelchair, I can’t drive, & I have a patch over my left eye. No big deal to me! I can laugh about MY cancer, I don’t laugh about anyone else’ though. It’s something I hope nobody will ever have to go through or deal with. Me? I’m alive, I’ve got this & if I need help, I’ve got lots of great people to help me. Sure I’ll have some lasting effects from brain cancer, so I adjust to do a task in a different way.

It’s not the ’90s anymore I guess, time for me to grow up sort of……………….nope that won’t work. I’m 36 and set in my ways. The Grammy Awards weren’t terrible. There were some artists that I liked. Bruno Mars, “1989” by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lionel Richie, Lady Ga Ga’s tribute to David Bowie, Pentatonix, Stevie Wonder, Alice Cooper, the tribute to Lemmy Kilmister & of course Dave Grohl was there! Lamb of God was nominated for their 6th Grammy, I don’t know or really care if they won? Grammy Awards that have been won really don’t dictate what I’m going to “purchase” or “stream”. Yes I still purchase the odd CD & purchase albums from iTunes.

Sorry, I’ve tried to listen to “Guns n’ Roses”, I just can’t get into them. Somewhere here there’s a purchased CD of “Appetite for Destruction”. It hasn’t seen the light of day for quite sometime. They’re all obviously good at what they do & likely busted their butts to achieve their success, just not for me. It sometimes takes me a few years to enjoy an album if I dismiss it upon first listen. I bought “Appetite for Destruction” in 2000. It’s 2016, and no, I’m still not a fan.

The new “Tremonti” single is coming soon!!!!!!

As a fan of “Muse” I wasn’t big on this latest release? Musically, yes, lyrically, no.

Muse are on tour & I missed them, again. They’re back in Europe finishing their tour. They did have some Canadian dates but I missed them. I don’t even remember where they were, probably too “…..far away…”?

I thought “Lady Ga Ga” did a fantastic David Bowie tribute!

I do like Taylor Swift’s “1989” album

I love James Corden’s carpool karaoke

I really liked the tribute to Lemmy Kilmister as well. I thought I’d see Matt Sorum (Guns n’ Roses former drummer) die during this performance?

I guess “Ghosts” won “Best Metal performance”? Not “Lamb if God”? Oh, well. I didn’t even know “Sevendust” was nominated for this as well.

Not my favourite “Fall Out Boy” album.

Just to clear the air on the Toronto Blue Jays. I’m pretty sure every Jays fan has a suggestion as to what they’d do to the roster. I would trade $20,000,000 32 year old Troy Tulowitzki for a needed back up Catcher & some prospects, if that trade is available? You put a young guy at Short Stop (who’s talent will likely be wasted sitting on the bench) & you have 2 other utility infielders that can fill the void at 2B in the meantime until Devon Travis can play (expected back in May). I have nothing against Tulowitzki, his bat & defense are incredible. At the very least I hope they make Devon Travis earn the 2B spot from Goins. If the Blue Jays didn’t have Ryan Goins I wouldn’t bother giving up Tulowitzki. It just saves money for Bautista & Encarnacion, who’s contracts are up at the end of the year & will be looking for a final contract in the neighbour hood of $20,000,000 each, “Prime Time Sports with Bob McCowen” has echoed this many times, has anybody mentioned this to president Mark Shapiro or GM Ross Atkins? I’d call in to the show on Mondays or Fridays if my voice was better, but oh well. Just to ask if this has been mentioned to the president or general manager? If not you teach Tulowitzki to play 1B & trade Encarnacion or let him walk at the end of the year? I just hate the idea of not playing Ryan Goins everyday. Bob McCowen came up with the last idea. Only 6 days until pitchers & catchers report to spring training in Florida!!!!!

Record of the year. How could it not be? This song sounds best a maximum volume aka 11!

Pentatonix & Stevie Wonder at the Grammy Awards

Sorry, I’m long winded, I enjoy writing. I used to write song lyrics, now I write a blog. When I would write lyrics for a song, 4 of us would record a demo of the music. I’d put that on my iPod & take 2 weeks roughly to write lyrics, then at least another week to name the song. My brother gave me crap when I’d take so long to name a song “CHRIS, WHY? HURRY UP AND NAME IT ALREADY!!!!”

I had 3 partially written songs that I re-worked to fit the music. Other than that, the lyrics I wrote took a while. I write these posts the same way. I write a bit, then figure out a title, only it needs to have a title in a few hours not a few weeks, I write “Under Pressure” see, that just popped up.

According to Rolling Stone, Kendrik Lamar, stole the show at the Grammy Awards. Song inside the link.

Yes, I like getting up early. When I sleep past 7:30 it feels like I’ve wasted the day. There are a handful of people that assume I sit around here & breeze through my day, when in fact I’m quite busy & I always feel like there’s not enough time to finish everything before Kim get’s home. When she gets home after work she either finds me in here finishing a post, writing out the idea of what the next post will be or maybe I just hit the couch 20 minutes before she opens the door.

I guess 2018 is my 20 year high school reunion, if anyone is planning it? In my ’97/’98 yearbook I have the biggest, dumbest grin on my face at the after party. I look like an idiot. I was so happy to be “free” from school. University & SIAST were much better for me. A clean slate for me to do what I wanted to do. High School wasn’t terrible, but other than my handful of close friends, I honestly kept my head down & tried not to rattle any “….cage…..”

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Alter Bridge” 4 studio albums & 2 live albums all on shuffle.

Let’s get this straight! When Kim & I got married, I won! I married up & she married “The (wacko) of what’s around”.

So in the past 2 weeks we’ve lost some fairly big named musicians first was Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister & now David Bowie, it just sucks when anybody passes on. You may not like their music but they’re still humans. I was a casual fan of both.

From the mouth of the drummer for “Tremonti”

Tool live playing “Sweat”

LOTS of David Bowie stuff & rightfully so. You may not like his music but I’m guessing 90% of you like someone he has inspired?

I really hope “Lamb of God” hits Saskatoon on this tour? I’ve only seen them once in Edmonton in 2006 or 2007? Last time they played in Saskatoon, the roads were pretty ugly. I had a ticket to see them, mother nature put her foot down though.

Ghosts” announce U.S. spring tour

Gene Simmons on Lemmy Kilmister

Could anyone please tell the members of Tool that they’re playing on a stage & not in a studio?

How Conan remembers David Bowie

David Bowie was not healthy in the least when he died. Multiple heart attacks, battling with cancer, etc.

I could post everything I see today but that would be 14 pages of news of David Bowie passing on. As I said, like his music but I was a casual fan. When Kim & I got confirmation from our realtor that we had bought/had a possession date we listened to this song on the way to her parents place…..

Feels like it’s time for a Foo Fighters binge?
