Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “T”, as in Trivium on shuffle.

Kim & I are watching “Scandal” on Netflix. We Just finished season 3 Thursday night. Great show, one problem, writer/creator “Grey’s Anatomy” & “Private Practice” lady. She’s a hot writer at the moment but I swear she gets writers block every 10 minutes & “Ooo, now they have sex”. I like “Scandal”, but it is really getting old fast. That’s the exact reason I don’t watch “Grey’s Anatomy”. I liked “Private Practice” too, but I don’t miss it. All of these shows are getting old around every corner somebody’s having sex with someone, for no reason at all?

Thursday’s Rock It Out Blog. GREAT TOPIC!!!!

Gay marriage seems very similar to marijuana issues at the moment. They can do either legally or illegally? What would you want the police to be more concerned with? Pot smokers that want a bag of chips, same sex people living together? Or the guy down the street who will snap in a week & go on a shooting spree?

Blue Jays baseball Thursday night, they’re all but guaranteed a playoff spot if they go 5W-5L & the N.Y. Yankees go 8W-2L for the last 10 games of the regular season then the Jays are out & I highly doubt that will happen?

If this is true, when is this tasty nugget being released? All I see on iTunes are a bunch of “Slash” albums & EPs he’s sang on?

Guitarist, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine & Audioslave

Jimmy Fallon & Joseph Gordon Levitt cover Rhianna as “The Old Time Gals” Barbershop quintet

New Pentatonix video/song from their upcoming release on October 16th

Hollywood Vampire Rock in Rio with Lzzy Hale & Alice Cooper, performing “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Jonny Depp both on guitar & Guns n’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan.

Really? The Pope plans to release a rock album, I think He may end up as the coolest Pope of my lifetime?

Audio link inside of “Wake up! Go! Go! Forward!” Not this song, totally different

New band “Wakrat” with former Rage Against The Machine/Audioslave bassist Tim Commerfield.

LANGUAGE!!! Not sure what to make of this song?

Cool video of a little girl fishing!!

Today/Friday, September 25th Rock It Out Blog LANGUAGE!!!! When we were onstage, no matter what rock band I was a part of. Nobody swore on stage unless it was a cover song. We didn’t care who said what, it didn’t matter, freedom of speech, Mitch did once & just didn’t want to do that again.

John Lennon, Taylor Swift, Ryan Adams, Father John Misty, etc. ^^

Songs I like. “The Refreshments” They were never a big name act, I think they were in the 20s on the Much Music Video Count down for 2 weeks in the ’90s. Then they disappeared. I have one CD, I think “The Refreshments” on iTunes are a different group other than this album?

Yep, they did this theme song!!!!

I still listen to this album. I flip through my iPod & I see ‘The Refreshments’ & then I think to myself, “Hey, I haven’t listen to that in a while?”

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “H”, as in “Highly Suspect”. This is one of the 3 songs out of 10 without language.

My super group is already partially together, “Them Crooked Vultures”! Dave Grohl (Nirvana & Foo Fighters) drums, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) & Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) guitar & vocals.

Who would I add to that already impressive line up? Ian Fletcher Thornley (Big Wreck/Thornley) & Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge/Slash/The Mayfield Four).

Myles Kennedy would be the lead vocalist & guitar when needed. Ian Thornley would be 2nd guitar to Josh Homme. Anyone & everyone would be a back up vocalist! That, for me, would be a mind blowing line up!

Who is in your super group? I want to know more about music, who is your favourite artist(s) or Super Group?

I spoke about Green Day releasing this documentary, here’s NME’s take on it.

When I heard this as a single, I knew instantly that I didn’t need to purchase this album, it may have ended up being an album I’d buy & never listen to?

Watch Stevie Nicks perform with Foo Fighters!

Singer Bruce Dickinson hates the first/self-titled Iron Maiden album.

Father John Misty covers Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swifts “Blank Space”

This song has been everywhere with the release of a new solo “Chris Cornell” album. I checked it out on iTunes & wasn’t interested in the rest of the album, nothing sounded similar to the single. However, it did lead me to his prior/3rd solo album that was released in 2009, when I was in the hospital & didn’t hear of it. I liked that album & bought it for a WHOPPING $5.99 on iTunes. In a round about way the single worked! I bought a Chris Cornell album! Maybe it wasn’t his recent release, but it worked. FYI Chris Cornell is the singer from grunge band Soundgarden as well as a previous member of Audioslave. Here’s the current single, then one song from the album I bought. These 2 songs sound nothing like Soundgarden or Audioslave.

Thanks to my mother-in-law Shirley Olson for digging this up for me!!!

Who do Foo Fighters not bring on stage?

I really like the new Mark Tremonti solo album

Ian Fletcher Thornley audio clip from his new solo album “Secrets” to be released on October 30th

OK, I’m the total opposite of this. Maybe you are maybe you aren’t, no big deal. I’m not a fan of Arcade Fire.

When “Uptown Funk” comes on whatever I turn it up to 11 like they do in “This is Spinal Tap”

Ian Fletcher Thornley demos effect pedals by Suhr

I’m not really a fan of Jonny Depp. I am intrigued by his upcoming film “Black Mass”. I’m in the midst of watching a Netflix documentary about Whitey Bulger, a Boston gang banger who killed TONS of people. “Whitey” on Netflix, at least on Canadian Netflix.

Today’s workout was brought to by the letter “L”, as in Lamb of God’s album “VII: Strum Und Drang”

I actually don’t have enough hours to complete everything I want to get done between exercising, having a healthy breakfast, lunch, taking care/playing with Brewster & writing these blogs, I don’t hit the couch until about 4:00pm. I’m not saying that being a parent isn’t easy, that’s a full time job, 24/7 until your kid grows up & leaves the nest. Even my parents have had to pretty much raise me again & I’m 35? I’m up when Kim leaves for whatever job she’s working at that day, so I’m up doing stuff before the clock says it’s 8:00am or 7:00am. I try to get stuff done ASAP. I’m always the last one in bed also. I’m in here looking for stuff I should put on this blog. I’m not complaining, but some people say to me “Oh Chris, I wish my life was as easy as your’s”. I don’t sit around here doing nothing all day.

I’m in a wheelchair, so I have to do some things differently than others. No big deal, it just takes me longer, but it gets faster the more I do the same task.

Thom Yorke (Radiohead singer) is working on music for Broadway.

I loved Radiohead’s first 3 albums, each 1 more than the previous release. Their 3rd album ‘OK Computer’ was a FANTASTIC album when it was released in the summer of 1997. Rolling Stone magazine took a readers poll, ‘OK Computer’ was voted as “The Best Album of All Time” just ahead of The Beatles ‘Revolver’. That doesn’t mean much to me, that means to me that 1 or more people liked it more than The Beatles album. Here’s a single from ‘OK Computer’………..

Hear a bit of Ian Fletcher Thornley’s solo project!!!!!

I agree the new “Lamb of God” album is their best album since 2004’s “Ashes of the Wake”

It boggles my mind why ‘Finger Eleven’s’ drummer would leave to join this group.

Not for me, but here you go.

Stories behind album covers

The Who postpone the end of their 50th anniversary tour.

Why does Ontario see the same tour as Saskatchewan fans for $23.00 plus tax & handling fees, while the show in Saskatchewan is $45.00 plus tax & handling fees to see a band in a bar? I need to move.

This blog is how I learn about new music. I’ve never heard of “Father John Misty” but it sounds good LANGUAGE!!!!!!

I guess it’s ^^ his 2nd album according to iTunes? No, it’s not rock or metal, I’ll have to check it out later.

Today’s (Friday’s) Rock It Out Blog  LANGUAGE!!!

I don’t want a “dislike” button on Facebook. If you don’t like something why bother to post anything negative? It just doesn’t make sense to me. Sure I can be negative about whatever, I try to just talk on here about stuff I enjoy or that I know other people enjoy!
