I fell asleep to “Matthew Good Band” the album “Beautiful Midnight”

Universal remote is on the fritz.  No music while exercising. But I’m listening to a TON of “Dead Sara” & “Devin Townsend Project”

Back to reality this week.  I don’t know about anyone else, but that felt like a very short weekend.  New vegetable smoothie/juice in the morning.  2 ½ cups of water, ½ cup orange juice, ½ container of grape tomatoes, LOADS of fresh spinach, 3 pieces of celery, 1 carrot, & 2 cooked beets.  Really tasty!  Next week I want to add a little ginger.  For breakfast I have that all blended in our Vitamix (1 pitcher a week), a hardboiled egg, a piece of fruit (usually an apple), & a rice cake.  My lunch is 1 week of fish & lemon juice or a week of deli meat turkey wraps with ½ a slice of cheese & a dab of hot sauce.  During the afternoon I have hummus with rice thins, fruit, or some yogurt.  Supper is usually something with quinoa & chicken.

This isn’t a diet!  I like the food I eat, I can maintain this food regiment.  We don’t keep bread, chocolate, chips, or any other type of junk food in the house.  Out of sight out of mind.

Yes I drink alcohol only on the weekend or some time off at home, the lake or visiting relatives out of province.  During the week I drink close to a gallon of water.  My “medication” gives me dry mouth, then I get up to pee once or twice a night.

If it’s a special occasion I’ll have some sugar, whatever is in the baking or ice cream, not much though.  Everything in moderation.

My doctor at the cancer clinic has me on over the counter stuff.  Baby Aspirin, vitamin E, & vitamin C.  I know have to eat breakfast before I exercise.  I take the vitamins 3 times a day, & the Aspirin in the morning with my morning pills.  Yes, I’m 38 years old & have an evening & morning pill case for the week.  YAY…..beats the alternative though!

I’ve been eating this way for roughly 4 years & exercising 5 days a week.  I like this & I feel better than ever.

GRETA VAN FLEET

4 guys out of Detroit.  Here are songs from their album, which is actually 2 EPs they put together & released on iTunes.  They plan to have an album out by the end of the summer.  Yes, the band that will always be instantly compared to Led Zeppelin.

I don’t know why so many people hate them for sounding like a carbon copy of Led Zeppelin.  When you hear the guys voice, BOOM Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.  You hear the guitar BOOM Jimmy Page.  The drummer & bass player aren’t John Bonham & John Paul Jones.  If the singer’s voice sounds like Robert Plant, wouldn’t you try to create music like Led Zeppelin?

If your singer sounds like another famous singer, go with it & let the kids have fun & make some cash.  If a band is new to the music scene wouldn’t you be inspired or influenced by another, wouldn’t you go with it?  The Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, U2, etc.  Proven artists that can make a living doing what they like.

I figure there are 2 ways to take this as a Led Zeppelin fan “WHOA, they’re totally ripping off Led Zeppelin!” Or, “Hey, this sounds like Led Zeppelin is creating new music, AWESOME!”

Personally, I have nothing against them & I like their music.  I’ll ride this train as far as it will go.

Songs from their album “From the Fires”

This guy’s complaining about their clothing?  Lay off it, it doesn’t affect the music, might as well look for more imperfections to concern yourself with.

Now I want to be a guitar player for ‘Queens of the Stone Age’ then I’ll get a fancy house.

http://loudwire.com/queens-of-the-stone-age-troy-van-leeuwen-purchases-1-85-million-camarillo-estate/

My ranking of their albums worst to first is….

“Era Vulgaris”, “Queens of the Stone Age”, “Rated R”, “Lullabies to Paralyze”, “…Like Clockwork”, “Songs for the Deaf”, & “Villains”

After “Era Vulgaris” it gets quite tricky since the rest are all pretty great.

Disturbed is a band I grew out of & can’t say I miss them aka I’m not in my early 20s anymore.  I own “The Sickness” & “Believe” on CD, then I stopped.

Hahahaha!  Metallica covered by Tremonti playing Hello Kitty guitars!

Some I like, others I won’t touch.  I don’t consider myself a full blown metal head though.

‘Queen’, ‘Bowie’, ‘Prince’, ‘Bob Marley’ (in small doses), ‘Beastie Boys’, ‘Pink Floyd’, some ‘Depeche Mode’, & yes ‘Classical Music’

Saw ‘Deadpool 2’ last night.  Much like the first one, there’s a lot of….

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s a good one, much like the first one that way.  I watched the first “Deadpool” over 3 days last week.  I’ll buy this when it’s out on blu-ray!  I laughed too much & I know I missed a few jokes due to laughing at the previous one, also like the first one, which I’ve easily watched 20-25 times now.

Facebook is bringing a streaming music.  Because you don’t have enough options for that yet.  I think they’re a little late to the party?

The N.Y. Yankees played in Toronto this evening.  Toronto lost again.  I checked the score when I got home.  It’s not pretty, after a 7-2 loss they’re now 26W-34L.

Come the trade deadline on July 31st, they’ll be shopping for prospects while dumping older players who have contracts that expire at the end of the year!  Right now for the 2nd season in a row, they have the oldest average age of players in all of the MLB!

In a previous post I think I said something to the terms of “I wouldn’t change most things” my bad, that’s not what I meant.  I’d change a lot of things, as long as I end up alive & with Kim.  I wouldn’t have drank so much when I was younger, I’d be more health conscious, I wouldn’t have hurt anyone’s feelings, etc.  Hindsight is 20/20.  I think most people would write a letter telling their younger selves saying what to do & what not to do when they were younger.  Unfortunately there’s no operators manual for life.  You’re born & pretty much hit the ground running with help from your parents or whoever it is that’s taking care of you.

I called iTunes support twice to deal with a file that in the end was an error they had never seen before.  When we figured it out on my 3rd call Saturday morning (2 Friday, 1 Saturday) it was on a preorder I had.  The best they could tell me was to wait for the entire album release & call back then if there are any issues.

Friday I finished doing some stuff around here, then sat down to watch baseball that night.  Saturday Kim & I slept in, until 7:20 am!  Kim went out for a run, while I was on the phone with iTunes trying to clear up a problem I had with one of my preordered albums.  Kim came home after grocery shopping in time to catch the end of the afternoon ball game.  We went over to Sherry & James’ place to sit on the deck since it was nice out.  Stayed for some tasty BBQ ribs, FANTASTIC!

Sunday just hanging out with the boss.  Lazy day!

IF YOU’RE HERE FOR THE UPDATE, THAT’S ALL THAT I HAVE FOR YOU TODAY.

I had preordered the Queens of the Stone Age album & I am having problems in that the 2nd single, released on Thursday, will not show up in my iTunes although it shows that I’ve preordered it.  The first single had no issues when I preordered it though.  I guess I’ll see what happens on August 25 when the full album is released?

NO, I DON’T HAVE A SIMPLE LIFE BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE KIDS

Today’s workout was brought to by the letter “L”, as in Lamb of God’s album “VII: Strum Und Drang”

I actually don’t have enough hours to complete everything I want to get done between exercising, having a healthy breakfast, lunch, taking care/playing with Brewster & writing these blogs, I don’t hit the couch until about 4:00pm. I’m not saying that being a parent isn’t easy, that’s a full time job, 24/7 until your kid grows up & leaves the nest. Even my parents have had to pretty much raise me again & I’m 35? I’m up when Kim leaves for whatever job she’s working at that day, so I’m up doing stuff before the clock says it’s 8:00am or 7:00am. I try to get stuff done ASAP. I’m always the last one in bed also. I’m in here looking for stuff I should put on this blog. I’m not complaining, but some people say to me “Oh Chris, I wish my life was as easy as your’s”. I don’t sit around here doing nothing all day.

I’m in a wheelchair, so I have to do some things differently than others. No big deal, it just takes me longer, but it gets faster the more I do the same task.

Thom Yorke (Radiohead singer) is working on music for Broadway.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/09/thom-yorke-pens-new-music-from-broadway-drama-old-times-listen/

I loved Radiohead’s first 3 albums, each 1 more than the previous release. Their 3rd album ‘OK Computer’ was a FANTASTIC album when it was released in the summer of 1997. Rolling Stone magazine took a readers poll, ‘OK Computer’ was voted as “The Best Album of All Time” just ahead of The Beatles ‘Revolver’. That doesn’t mean much to me, that means to me that 1 or more people liked it more than The Beatles album. Here’s a single from ‘OK Computer’………..

I agree the new “Lamb of God” album is their best album since 2004’s “Ashes of the Wake”

It boggles my mind why ‘Finger Eleven’s’ drummer would leave to join this group.

Why does Ontario see the same tour as Saskatchewan fans for $23.00 plus tax & handling fees, while the show in Saskatchewan is $45.00 plus tax & handling fees to see a band in a bar? I need to move.

FACEBOOK VS. EMAIL

Tuesday, February 11th 2014

Facebook is very time consuming, but it’s where I learn about and follow my favourite bands, and now I can only send one person at a time a message?  I would like to have the option to send a private message to many people 3 or 4 at a time, I don’t want to turn on “chat” with every single person!  If people prefer email that works too.  I can send more than one person a private email.  I can also send 300+ people a “Status Update” all at once.  Now Google is trying to change it’s email service to be more like facebook!  Give up Google, not everyone enjoys facebook.

I’ll be on both, facebook is mostly for me to find people from my past or people who’s email address’ I don’t have and to “follow” my favourite bands.  Sure there’s billions of users on facebook, but not everyone enjoys it and that’s fine.  I have to have an email account to use facebook anyways.

I get a ton of crap in my email, sent to me from several financial companies I’ve never dealt with, because I’m on facebook and my email address is just out there on every blog posting!  That is one of the biggest and worst things about facebook. Zuckerberg ruined it, now he has to fix it, as he’s laughing at it with his $55,000,000,000 in the bank.  I’m not leaving either at the moment, but facebook isn’t so great at the moment.  First world problems!
