I fell asleep to “Matthew Good Band” the album “Beautiful Midnight”

I exercised to “Econoline Crush” the album “The Devil You Know”

Weekly exercise total; 800 pushups, 560 leg lifts, 400 crunches, 300 squats, 240 tricep pushups, & 190 back flexes.  All of that in a 4 day week.

Next week will be a normal 5 day week.  Regular Sunday, Wednesday, & Friday post.

Tuesday.  Some days my stupidity is at 11/10.  “Hey, I just had 4 days off!  Let’s do all of the exercise at the goal limit” idiot.  I’m very tired this Tuesday morning after everything.

More of my T-Shirts are fitting with all of this exercise during the week.  I don’t know why, but I’ve felt tired all week.  Before my exercise & after my exercise.  Even did something different one day as a plumber was checking the en suite showers on the 2nd & 3rd floors.  I had breakfast & tended to the dishwasher first & then did my exercise.  They came to our suite first I believe.  I just didn’t want to be on the floor exercising when they came.

All of this exercise & eating healthy has made a difference but you can’t really see a difference in my muscles.  I’ve lost weight but even Kim says there’s very little definition shows in my muscles.  I’d have to agree with that.

It seems the older I get, the more bumps, cuts, & scabs I get.  “When did I do that?”  The answer never shows up & I just carry on as usual.

SIMON & GARFUNKEL

Stop laughing.  Summer of 1997 I bought a 3 disc box set of theirs.  We were living at my Grandparents place while dad & friends were rebuilding everything in our basement at home.

I bought the box set & listened to it constantly at a low volume in “my” temporary room as I fell asleep.  I can’t remember who mentioned them to me?  Might have been our choir conductor?  This was my last year of baseball.  I was playing on 2 teams & blew out my arm, making multiple throws from 3B to 1B (roughly 127 feet).

The Chamber Choir went to Newfoundland that summer for the exact same dates that my city league team was scheduled to play a tournament in Montana.  I already knew about the Newfoundland trip & told my coach at the first practice about the Newfoundland trip when he told us about the tournament.  He instantly got mad & had a temper tantrum.  “CANCEL IT NOW” he yelled at me.  I told him I couldn’t & that I had been fundraising & wouldn’t back out of this commitment I already had.  The baseball season went on.  I’d check the lineup & every day it was me, playing third base, & batting 9th, I was a terrible hitter.  The team went to Montana & I went to Newfoundland.  The first game back from the tournament I was benched!  The nastiest player on the team took over third base.  So I quit right there after the game & a HUGE argument with my head coach.  We didn’t see eye to eye on his decision to bench me or my decision to go with the choir.  I went back to my Grandparents house & relaxed to “Simon & Garfunkel”…..

Anybody watching “Riverdale”?  Archie comic characters, made into a murder mystery live action TV show.  Kim & I are hooked on this show.  Betty’s last name is Cooper, guess what her mother’s first name is?  Alice!  I just laugh & go “Look it’s Alice Cooper Hahahahahahahaha!”

It’s a Netflix original, but it’s on the CW channel before it’s available on Netflix.

Look at that!  “Theory of a Deadman” can do something completely different than “Nickelback”, & do it well.  A cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”.  If he’s not making music Chris Isaak should make a comeback.  Not the comeback below though.

In Flames cover of “Wicked Game”

Not this “Comeback”

Get off of your high horse!  Some stuff on www.youtube.com should be censored & it is.  It’s SO important that a shooting at their office is needed?  REALLY?

Terrible video too.  More than a little sexist…………….BY FAR.

Clean version.  Other version contained a parade of naked women.

Robert Plant on Greta Van Fleet

I was doing my exercise yesterday to Billy Joel.  Took me back to last year or the year before 3 or 4 of us driving to Saskatoon to see “Trivium” singing Billy Joel on the way there!  It also reminded me of this from earlier this week…

Could anyone shed some light on TONS of people having an issue with “Justice League”?  I watched it for the 2nd time this week & I still like it.  Maybe the next movie (Aquaman from what I hear) will be written & directed by Marvel studios?  Is it that bad, or are people just looking for something to complain about”?  This ruined the movie for them?  I’ve never seen it!

Tremonti “A Dying Machine” is out for preorder today & you get this song from it.  Full album will be released June 8th.

I fell asleep to “Metallica” the album “Kill ‘em All”

I exercised to “Stone Temple Pilots” the album “Stone Temple Pilots (2018)”

I had to clean up after Brewster, just missed his pad.  Washed my hands & had breakfast while listening to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Songs for the Deaf”

Exercise weekly total; 700 pushups, 490 leg lifts, 350 crunches, 210 tricep pushups, 210 squats, & 140 back flexes.  Odd week 1 day of no exercise & 1 day of half the amount of repetitions.

My father’s cousin died on Tuesday.  Kim & I would see him sleeping in his wheelchair when I was on the 2nd floor of the WRC.  He was born with Down syndrome.  Sad to see anybody die but his quality of life wasn’t that great.

We met a guy named Nick while I was in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center, super nice guy.  I’m pretty sure he wasn’t mentally handicapped but he was born physically handicapped.  He was in music therapy as well.  He recorded an album with help from the same music therapist I saw for a bit.  He played the drums on his album they made, she sang on it.  As far as the bass & guitar, I assume it was the music therapist.  I was impressed he could play the drums!  My kick drum leg wasn’t all that strong, I could get it to the kick drum, I just couldn’t keep my foot down.  It would hit the drum twice & my left hand is all but useless.  He probably doesn’t get out of his wheelchair much since he is severely physically handicapped.

He would see Kim & I in the cafeteria for lunch & always come to chat with us.  If he & I were having a conversation, Kim was our interpreter I was/am hard to understand & so was he.

He’s a really joyful guy to be around.  The rest of the people I saw & heard were very bitter about being there or whatever it was that put them there.  I was more on the bitter side of things.  I tried to keep it in.  I really leaned on Kim.

When I do my exercise “every morning”, lately, at least this year, I think to myself “Hurry up, do more, this is affecting a PILE of other people, not just Kim & I!  Hurry up & get better!”  That’s just the pressure I put on myself.  Nobody has ever said to me that I’m not trying hard enough, just me.

GRUNGE

I was born in 1980.  My parents weren’t into the GLAM metal scene going on in L.A.  It was basically a free pass, I got to choose what I wanted to hear.  Mom was into pop music & dad was into “Dire Straits”, “Jimmy Buffet” & whatever else popped up.  I do remember really liking “Fine Young Cannibals”.  I bought that CD just before I was diagnosed with brain cancer.  I was in high school when the entire “grunge” deal went down.  I was 8 or 9 years late to that party.  Now that’s my go to music.  I also played flute in the high school band & was recruited to join the choir, they needed more male voices for the 4 part harmonies.  When “grunge” was all the rage in the early 1990s, I couldn’t stand it.  I was really into Canadian bands who played the same type of music.  “I Mother Earth”, “The Inbreds”, “Our Lady Peace”, “Matthew Good Band”, “The Tea Party”, etc.  I ended up singing for what was basically a cover band.

I was at a bar with Chris Messer from the call center I worked at.  He was also a singer in a band.  He heard “Alice in Chains” playing over the P.A.  Yes, “Man in the Box” he turned to me & said “You guys should do this song.”  I replied “That vocal is very high.  I don’t know if I can hit those notes?”  After numerous rehearsals I did it!

Originally I was a 2nd bass singer, the really low notes in the 4 part harmonies in choir.  I think that song changed my vocal range.  After that song, my voice was going through a 2nd puberty.  I’d be speaking & my voice would crack.  Then I became a grunge fan.  Grunge & rock with some Metallica was what we played.

Our goal was to play “Beerfest” put on by the Engineering Society.  500 people, I found it nerve racking to play in front of that many people….for a bit.  Once we had played a few songs & we were in a groove all of the anxiety went away.  I was really into the Canadian response of grunge though at the time.  I had a lot of the grunge albums, didn’t listen to them much though, until needed.  Somehow I bought a metal, Into Eternity, album before I was into American grunge…..

We didn’t play all of the songs mentioned, that’s more of just what I was into at the time.  Our motto was “If somebody isn’t bleeding by the end of the night, we’re not trying hard enough”.  That was a weird way of gauging how the shows went.

Will Axl Rose continue with AC/DC?

Yes, I watched “Justice League” again this week over 2 days this week.  Critics hated it, SURPRISE!  That’s really just a fancy title for someone who gets paid to watch movies if you ask me.  I guess I would be a terrible movie critic, since I enjoy the DC movies.  Yes I like the Marvel movies too.

Is my family weird because we’ve had peanut butter & banana sandwiches or peanut butter & jam/jelly sandwiches?

Friday ended with a TON of recorded TV being watched.  I did my exercises in the morning while Kim, who had the day off, went grocery shopping.

Saturday, dad & I had every intension of going to the Saskatchewan Roughrider game against the visiting Edmonton Eskimos.  I was at their house dressed in layers and said we should just stay at my parents’ place & watch the game on the 104” HD projection screen in the basement, so we did!  Roughriders lost so we play in Ottawa for the first round of playoff games.  We went upstairs to have a delicious roast, vegetable & Greek flavoured potatoes.  I don’t eat potatoes if they’re mashed, boiled or baked.  If it’s French Fries, there had better be ketchup nearby.  Kim went to our friends place to watch the UFC/MMA fight on pay-per-view.  I can’t get into watching that stuff.

We got home late last night, around 11:30 pm, & I fell out of my wheelchair.  We had a TON of recycling in front of the closet.  I tried to reach too far & down I went into a very small area between the recycling & the door.  As I always say it’s not the first time I’ve fallen & it probably won’t be the last time.

Today is our usual Sunday routine.  We slept in, had breakfast, & now we’ll get ready for the week, & I’ll watch some more of “Stranger Things season 2” on Netflix.

MUSIC & POP CULTURE TALK

That’s a list of metal bands that is far more miss than hit, for me!

http://loudwire.com/important-metal-bands-21st-century/

Stone Temple Pilots are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big Wreck at the Casino Regina February 17th 2018 to celebrate 20 years since their debut album “In Loving Memory of…”  WOOHOO!

Grunge was the cool thing in the early 90s.  I hated it, just loud noise to me.  I turned 13 in 1993.  Everybody was saying how fantastic “Nirvana” & “Soundgarden” were.  In 1992 I saw the “Barenaked Ladies” as my first concert.  Our entire immediate family went, I was 12 & my brother was 5 years old.

From that point on I was all about acoustic “rock/pop” music “Blues Traveler”, “Sister Hazel”, & “Hootie & the Blowfish”

I have 13 “Barenaked Ladies” albums on my iPod & I still listen to them.  That’s the album I have preordered for mid-November, titled “Fake Nudes”.

That phase didn’t last too long.  In 1996 “I Mother Earth” released the album “Scenery & Fish” that went triple platinum.  That & “Our Lady Peace” album “Naveed” turned me on to rock music.

Everybody at my high school was all about “Our Lady Peace” 2nd album, different strokes for most of the country other than me.  Their 2nd album “Clumsy” for me was the start of a fast & steady decline.

It wasn’t a bad album to me.  I really like their first 4 albums still, & listen to them.  I’ve got all of their 8 studio albums.  I only enjoy the first 4 though.

It was around 1996 I started getting into grunge and heavier rock albums, especially Canadian rock!

If you subscribe through Facebook, email, or your own blog site, there’s no need to visit the site.

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “Silence in the Snow” followed by “Muse” the album “Black Holes & Revelations”

I exercised to “Econoline Crush” 3 albums on shuffle.

400 crunches, 400 leg lifts, 390 pushups, 160 back flexes, & 20 minutes of planking.

That’s 100 crunches, 100 leg lifts, now 100 pushups, 40 back flexes, & 5 minutes of planking each working day.

I did 90 pushups on Monday, then figured I could suffer through 10 more the rest of the week.  I’d increase my crunches to 700-1000 but not until I’ve had back surgery.  At that point I’d throw my squats back into the routine as well.

My back is fine at the moment, it does flare up once in a while though.  I’ve had this issue since ’96 or ’97 in high school!

I can’t even imagine how people in my life felt when they heard the news that I had been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

Even now people ask if they can help me with something.  I get that, a guy who is physically disabled will say “Yes please” on most occasions.  I on the other hand try to figure out how to do things on my own.  It may take me longer or after a few tries & if I can’t figure it out, I’ll accept any help.

I know at times I can be stubborn about asking for help, that’s my pride taking over.  I like the challenge of trying to be more independent.  When I figure something out, that’s one less thing people don’t have to worry about me doing on my own.

I really don’t want others to worry about me.  If I need help with something I will ask.  Please don’t worry about me?  Hold my beer & watch this!

We have this upcoming week off.  Tuesday evening I made a list of our commitments for the week here.  Our week off became very busy, in a good way though.  Lots of people (7?) from out of town will be here to see us & partake in other festivities!

I’ll be checking Facebook & email, just no blog posts until Monday, September 4th.

No summer vacation for us.  Kim’s work is rather shorthanded this month.

Friday ended with me having a beer & a covfefe while watching “Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown” followed by a trip to “The Queen City Ex” aka the carnival aka “Buffalo Days” to see “I Mother Earth” & “The Watchmen” in concert for a WHOPPING $12!  AWESOME!

We can look at this a few different ways.  A) I saw two of my BIG name bands from the ‘90s last year in 2 separate concerts at the casino.  B) I just saw them together Friday night at the travelling carnival.  C) Since 1999 I’ve been able to see them live while drinking a beer & paying less to see them.

The Watchmen are a fairly successful Canadian rock band, & incredible live.  The albums are great & then you see them live & they blow your mind they’re so good!

I Mother Earth is well taken among hard rock fans, but not for everyone.  I know Kim didn’t want to be there, but she stuck around, she could have left, I could have gotten a ride home with Mitch.

I guess Edwin’s back & Bryan’s out doing his solo country thing or is a concert promoter now.  Unfortunately Edwin & Bryan sound nothing alike.  We likely will never hear anything from the last 2 albums live (Edwin recorded just the first 2 albums).

The Watchmen played first from 7:00 pm – 8:20 pm or so finishing with their big hit………………

I Mother Earth played just as long & radio edit versions were not involved at all.  I think when they made the set list they may have been thinking something like this “They want this 7 minute song to be 5 minutes?  Too bad we’re making it 7:30 minutes long!”

I typically don’t like bands that improvise/”jam” on stage, if I’d have to choose one band that does it, I’d pick I Mother Earth in a heartbeat.

All we heard from I Mother Earth was about 5 songs from the first album and I’m guessing 7 songs from the second album.  Yes, we saw some slap guitar!  Not slap bass, but slap guitar in a solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Who else does that?

This solo below has slap guitar in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drummer, bassist, guitar, vocals, & 2 additional percussionists FANTASTIC!

I had somewhat of a high school crush Friday night watching these bands.  I discovered The Watchmen at home from sick one day on Much Music, Canada’s MTV.  1994 I saw this video on MM……………

1996 rolled around & this video and song was everywhere……………..

If it costs me $6 per ‘90s Canadian rock band now, there are a few more I’d love to see doing a reunion tour, that will likely never happen or they’re still together!

  1. A) Finger Eleven still together. They haven’t stopped since they changed their name from “Rainbow Butt Monkeys” & recorded the album “Tip” in 1998
  1. B) Matthew Good Band almost a guarantee to NOT get back together
  1. C) Wide Mouth Mason, maybe?
  1. D) Our Lady Peace together & opening for Guns n’ Roses, I don’t know if Our Lady Peace ever really stopped, much like Econoline Crush? Both just seemed to fade away from the spotlight? I’m not a Guns n’ Roses fan, I won’t be there.  I did just see Our Lady Peace open for Bryan Adams though.  They’re together & they’re good, as long as they keep the bulk of their shows on songs from their first 4 albums, which they did when I saw them!  Our Lady Peace last released an album in 2012 & Econoline Crush is recording with a new contract & label.  Currently there are 5 of their albums on iTunes, the most recent from 2010, a greatest hits album.

There could be many more added to that list of ‘90s rock bands, but that list would make me EXTREMELY happy!  Big Wreck has been back since 2011 & have released 3 albums & a 7 song EP of live songs & a cover.

The coolest thing about Friday night was that I was wearing a metal band T-Shirt, Lamb of God, & was complimented on it twice!  Once waiting for the show to start & some guy flashed me the metal horns on our way to our vehicle after the show.

I’ve had this experience before wearing one of my Into Eternity shirts in Boston & Edmonton.  Into Eternity is a local metal band that has done quite well as far as underground metal goes, check iTunes or your local music store, you’ll see 4 albums & 2 singles.  The first album is difficult to find.

Saturday evening we were babysitting for our friends.  Kim took Hannah to the “Emoji Movie”.  I stayed home with Brewster & the Roughriders game & the Blue Jays game.

Sunday Kim & Hannah had breakfast before I was even awake from sleeping on the couch.  I’m not sure where Brewster ended up sleeping?  He tends to roam when Hannah’s here.  He’s not sure how he’ supposed to act around young kids, he tends to get scared & find a quiet spot or curl up on my lap.  He does this also if there’s more than 3 or 4 people around as well.  Poor guy’s getting old, he’ll be 12 years old on January 31st, 2018.  We got him from a breeder down the street from us in April of 2006.

We finished Sunday with an early birthday BBQ for Corey at their place & a pile of Corey & Jolene’s friends.  I’d call it an annual event (well, the last 4 years as far as I know).  Corey smokes a brisket, we all eat & drink!

While at Corey & Jolene’s place I had a VERY odd sense of anxiety.  I don’t know what caused it, it certainly wasn’t anyone’s fault.  It was all in my head!  I didn’t freak out or anything, I just clamed up & felt out of place?  I couldn’t tell you why, I just felt awkward among people that I have no reason to?  Weird feeling, never happened to me before?  Again, nobody’s fault, it was all in my head.

Monday will be a lazy day for us, get ready for the week, watch whatever is half decent on TV or Netflix, lay low & prepare for Tuesday.  Yes, Saskatchewan, Canada has the most days off than any other province I think it is?

IF YOU’RE HERE FOR THE UPDATE, THAT’S ALL THAT I HAVE FOR YOU TODAY.

I’m a big fan of Lamb of God, In Flames, Trivium, & many more metal bands!  Trivium has made 2 albums that are terrible to me though.  I have issues with “The Crusade” & “Shogun”.  I do like the song ‘The Crusade’, as for “Shogun” they seem to get stuck on a riff & repeat it many times.  Quite a few fans call “Shogun” their favourite album.  I don’t get it, but to each their own!  I got into them on the 2nd album “Ascendancy” released in 2005.  I own most of the CDs, until the last 2 which I bought on iTunes.  Anyways, here’s a review/reaction to the new single & the instrumental ‘The Crusade’.

How do the Blue Jays lose 16-7 on Friday in Houston, then play the same team the next day & win 4-3 in an extra inning.  Then go into the 9th inning ahead 6-3 and lose the game in the 9th inning 7-6?  Best team in baseball (Houston Astros) vs. the 2nd worst team (Toronto Blue Jays).  If you’re a casual Blue Jay fan, you may not want to watch a game for a year or two, this could get horrific!?

The fact that Pauly Shore is still around is incredible.  I love the Movie “Son-in-Law”

WEEKEND UPDATE

If you like it, please share & subscribe?  If you don’t please give me feedback as to what would improve it for you?  I can’t please everyone but I can try.

This site had 5 viewings in Canada by 4 people on the website.  Please keep sharing people!  On Facebook we hit 68.  I can’t tell who is reading this but thank you.  As for who I see reading it on the website, all I see is the country & how many people from that country have viewed it.  If you’ve subscribed with your email I can see that as well.

Don’t feel as though you have to open every link.  In fact, I’m going to change this up a bit.  A buddy of mine woke me up.  I was getting stuck in a rut somewhat.  Too many links on here first of all & extremely consistent with me posting stuff 6 days/week.  After this post I’ll cut it down.  The 2 of us are going to cook something up come April, to help me work on some stuff I need to do.  I’ll still be around for questions & critiques.  I’ll do a blog on Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday.  Without more than 4 www.youtube.com  links, which are always optional.  I’ll catch you on Wednesday after this blog post.

Thursday I spent the day at my parents’ place.  It was my only brother’s, only sibling’s, 30th birthday.  Birthday supper with the family BBQd burgers, Caesar salad, & Grandma’s chocolate cake!  I feel older now.  My younger brother is 30 now!

It’s 9:20 am on Friday.  I’ve exercised, showered, had breakfast, & done my dishwasher duty.  All I have left is to make a pitcher of juice for my breakfast since I finished it this morning, then baseball to be watched at 11:00 am.

As I was getting ready to go to my parents’ Thursday, I found peanut M & Ms, “my weakness is their sweetness” I resisted though, I had 7.  Kim went to all of the trouble of hiding them in an empty yogurt container but left the container in the middle of the island.  Had it been in the pantry, I never would have seen them!  However she did get me some Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked.  “Hello couch & Blue Jays, meet Ben & Jerry, they’ll be joining us today!”

Blue Jays won in a game that means nothing.  Jose Bautista & Troy Tulowitzki looked ready to start the regular season.  So did injury recovering Josh Donaldson & Devon Travis.  Regular season begins Monday, April 3rd.  I don’t like their “solutions” for LF & 1B, but I’m nothing more than a fan, & it’ll change if the head honchos can figure out a solution.

Found out Friday that the Jays play Saturday & Sunday as well.  I have very little ice cream left I guess water, black coffee, rice thins, & hummus will have to do?

I’ve seen multiple trailers for this movie & I’m all in for The Justice League!!!!

Music played while I was doing stuff around the house or that I fell asleep to.

I played at 3 actual wedding ceremonies for friends.  The weddings were the places I got extremely nervous for.  1 shot at this & it had better be perfect.  I don’t want to be the big OOPS at the wedding.  I would always put pressure on myself to have a good show when I or the entire band hit the stage.  I always preferred having all of us on stage (safety in numbers).  Our first band in University had a rule if one of us isn’t bleeding after 35-42 songs, which was everything we knew) the show wasn’t good enough.  We played each show like we were “Nirvana” light.  We didn’t harm our instruments, our bodies were a different story though.  I remember Rydell, our guitarist, head banging so hard he fell down, but he soldiered on & never stopped playing the song, even on the ground!  Too funny!

Songs I’d play for fun on my own, or covered with a band.

ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY

I fell asleep to “Soundgarden” the album “Badmotorfinger”

Don’t feel as though you must open every link.

I have what’s called an ‘acquired brain injury’.  I don’t know of anyone else that has had my specific type of brain cancer.  It’s more common in children than young adults, that’s not cool.  I was in a program with other people who’ve had brain injuries.  We’d all get together to play games.  I didn’t get to go very often, Brewster is high maintenance & has anxiety attacks when left alone.  I’m sure there were people in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center that have experienced or future patients that will.  Sure it changes a lot of things, you just have to make adjustments yourself!  Do you have a child?  If you do, I can almost guarantee your life is different now than it was before having a child?  Life changed instantly & now it makes things slightly challenging or just different.  Nobody necessarily likes change & I totally get that.  I have a lot of help if I need it, there’s even a program at the WRC called the ABI program to help me anytime down the road if needed.  In the end, this being alive stuff sure beats the alternative!

My sciatic nerve is better, but there is still a tiny bit of pain there.  It’s still the best it’s felt since November.  I saw my massage therapist last week.  She said it was much better even before my massage.  After my massage she told me to see my chiropractor, she said I had a few ribs out of place.  I can’t feel anything out of whack in my ribs, just my lower back & a bit down my right leg.

Barenaked Ladies shared it.  Maybe they should take some time off instead of releasing an album of previous material with another group?

So I could go to Moose Jaw to see the “Offspring” a 40-45 minute drive to see a band that I’m a very, very casual fan of.  This was the first song my first band learned to play (I was but a singer at the time).

Or I could make the mind-numbing 2 & ½ hour drive to Saskatoon to see Ed Sheeran, who I really like.

I like Ed Sheeran, but I loathe the drive to Saskatoon & I’ve seen Ed Sheeran in Regina once.  Do I go to Saskatoon or hold out for ‘In Flames’ to come from Sweden to Saskatoon.

I can definitely say I don’t need to see The Offspring.  I’ve seen In Flames once or twice & wasn’t disappointed.  The sound for Ed Sheeran in Regina was dreadful & everybody watched 75% of the show through a cell phone.  Kim would prefer Ed Sheeran, so we’ll see how much tickets are?  In Flames have yet to announce any North American dates.

This show could be WAY over our budget?

Why does U2 need to reissue one of their biggest albums for $24.99 on iTunes with a bunch of older songs added to it?  ‘The Joshua Tree’ was roughly $25 in the ‘80s when it came out on CD.  Thanks, I bought it decades ago & it sounds fine.  32 extra songs from different albums that older U2 fans already own?  I don’t know how many people are newer U2 fans that would purchase this?  I’m a big U2 fan, but this just screams “CASH GRAB” to me.

I guess U2 was my absolute favourite band until I Mother Earth released “Scenery & Fish” in 1996.  Then Canada began their post-grunge movement.  Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good Band, The Tea Party, The Age of Electric, Limblifter, Moist, The Inbreds, Finger Eleven, Treble Charger, Econoline Crush, etc.  I guess you could put Big Wreck in here as well. Their 1st release was in 1997.

Let me set the scene for you, this happened quite often.  It’s 1996, my brother & I are doing dishes after supper.  Our parents have retired to the living room.  My brother & I are addicted to I Mother Earth’s “Scenery & Fish” album.  After a few minutes of the album playing in the kitchen our mother yells at us “TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!”  We turn it down, but not enough?  She yells again “TURN IT DOWN NOW!”  We turn it down more, now we can’t hear it.  So we turn it up.  This struggle goes on until the dishes are done about an hour later.

OK, does anyone gain anything in this scenario?  Do the verbal abusers gain anything?  This is just one example, in the end it’s just people hurting other people for being different.  WHY?

I guess “The Black Keys” are taking a break.

This group just drives me nuts for some reason, but so does Guns n’ Roses, couldn’t tell you why?

Whether you like them or not you had to know they’d get an award for sales at some point.  I just assume many people own everything Nickelback & lie to others saying “No not Nickelback, I hate them!”  Wait 4 minutes & the radio will change.  I don’t like them, but they’ve done nothing to harm me in any way.
