I fell asleep to “Soundgarden” the album “Badmotorfinger” after most of “In Flames” album “Soundtrack to your Escape” then the first album of the double album of “The Beatles” album “The White” album
I exercised to “Foo Fighters” the album “There is Nothing Left to Lose”
The 3rd album containing the first mistake they made, in my opinion. Most Foo Fighters fans love this song & sing along to it. I think last year was the first time I’ve seen them not play since the release of this album in November of ’99.
^^That’s Dave Grohl’s mother that flips him the middle finger at the beginning. He had to teach her how to do it, from what I heard at the time.
Here’s the deal. If I have to shave my face, the top of my head will be bald also, if not the beard comes back. My hair is down to ¼ or ½ inch, being completely bald isn’t that far away! Those are now the rules, shaving sucks or blows, whatever is worse!
Well it is no longer “ancient times”. Saskatchewan residents do not change their clocks. Why? Because we don’t need to! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
I fell asleep to “David Bowie” a Greatest Hits compilation.
For exercise I first put on “Better Than Ezra” the 13 song album “Friction Baby” when that played through I put on “The Birds of Satan” their only/self titled album (Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’ side project, where he plays the drum & sings).
^^I bought the CD in high school in the $0.01 deal from BMG or Columbia House. I think I went back & forth 4 times on those deals after I had full filled my 3 purchases of $28.99? I remember subscribing to both twice.
1000 crunches is the new daily exercise goal with a 2 other exercises afterwards! If Kevin Hart can do it, there’s no reason I can’t, I’ve got the time
Yes, this is on both Facebook or email for subscription!
A great start to what will be a good story “win or lose” for the Toronto Blue Jays. 8 complete innings pitched by 24 years young pitcher Marcus Stroman followed by the 9th inning closer 21 years young Roberto Osuna. 2 run home run by short stop Troy Tulowitzki in a 5-3 win for the Toronto Blue Jays. Only 161 games to go until the last 2 at the beginning of October. Plus the playoffs if that happens? Water & grapes aren’t necessarily baseball food, it just feels wrong? Troy Tulowitzki first home run of all players in 2016.
I’m helping Kim out with the cleaning here more & more. I’ve been assigned bathroom duty. (Hahaha, I said doodie). I finished one washroom and moving on to the second bathroom on Sunday, all the while singing & rocking/headbanging to “…done, done on to the next one. Done I’m done & I’m on to the next one. Done, done on to the next one. Done I’m done & I’m on to the next…”. All of this was before my overflowing joy after a Blue Jay win!
I’ll let you know right now it’s summer which means I won’t be as consistent with my blogging. Wednesday’s blog may be a little bit later due to an afternoon baseball game. Don’t people work on Wednesdays? Thursday you might get a 4 day exercise total with a dash of music news? Friday, & Saturday, I’m not even going to pretend there’s a computer in here. I’ll catch you on Sunday with what could be a looong weekend update after the 3rd baseball game in Toronto that day against the visiting Boston Red Sox.
Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine checks out the School of Rock.
I know nothing about her or her music but it’s good to hear she’s taking a stand by saying ‘Hey, this isn’t right’ basically.
I don’t consider “Tool” a metal group but that was a fantastic album!!!
I’m not much of a Jonny Depp fan in any roll. I guess he’s a big enough star that he can afford to do what he likes, so he’s giving music a shot………………….wait…………………wasn’t he complaining about actors crossing over into music & vice versa? Yes, yes he was, but that was months ago nobody will remember that.
I’m not much of a country music fan, but my wife is, so I hear it on occasion. Fine by me, I tune it out. We have this recorded & haven’t had time to watch it yet.
Royal Blood, a pleasant surprise for most rock fans!!!! “Wait,….I’m going to see Foo Fighters with my dad? Royal Blood is the opener? AWESOME! What else is going to happen, my jaw won’t go further down? Road trip to Calgary to see my aunts & uncles with Kim, & a boat load of cheaply priced liquor!?!” That was an awesome but quick trip last summer! There was also a day with a hand full of brewery tours!
6 unanswered questions Rolling Stone still has about the Guns n’ Roses reunion. They give an inch & every fan wants a mile!?!?
Why would anyone care about Bieber’s hair being dreads? Is the world just picking out things to complain about with him? He’ll shave it off when he gets bored with it, then everyone can complain about him being bald? ‘Cause the hair style changes everything!?!?
Don’t forget “Star Wars : Episode VII The Force Awakens” is available on DVD & Blu-Ray tomorrow, I’ve got the first 6 on DVD. I like having the complete series, so I’ll ask the boss if she wouldn’t mind picking it up after work tomorrow?
Consequence of Sound ask what would be your walk up to home plate for an at bat now that baseball has started? This would be mine if we could pretend I’d hit or have the ability to play this position? 3rd base is where I lived & was a guaranteed out for the opposing team!
25 year anniversary of Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album in September. Bassist Krist Novoselic interview/article.
Friday night & Saturday afternoon are the last 2 spring training games for the Toronto Blue Jays in Montreal. Sunday, April 3rd they play Tampa Bay in Tampa as their first regular season game!!! I’ll see Kim again in the fall once the season’s wrapped up! Well I guess until all of the seasons finish I’ll be watching “Blue Jays in :30” the games highlights in 30 minutes. I hate watching those, but it’s better than nothing.
Ian Fletcher Thornley performing the song “Secrets” live.
Kongos are done their new/3rd album!!!!
“We’re very excited to announce that our new album, Egomaniac, comes out June 10th! The first single, Take It From Me, will be available on all digital platforms on April 15th. Pre-orders for Egomaniac also start on April 15th.”
All of this slamming Ben Affleck, yet Batman vs. Superman is the number 1 movie in the world? Ben Affleck says thank you for your money, walks away & drops the mic!
LANGUAGE!!!!!!!! Notice that he’s not an official movie reviewer, but a fan?
Now a word from another random fan on facebook about the movie.
“Screw the critics ..Fans loved it”
Any review on anything should be taken with a grain of salt. Make up your own mind about it. Do you want to follow the crowd, or march to the beat of your own drum? That’s exactly why the majority of this blog is me saying “Hey, I like this, maybe check it out if you like?”
This may be a good way to look at things. I don’t like sub genres. Metal is metal, rock is rock, pop is pop, country is country, EDM is EDM, etc. It’s either good or bad, whatever type of music it is. “You like Lamb of God? You must like everything metal”. Nope, but nice try!
I fell asleep to “Tom Cochrane” the album “Mad, Mad. World” then “Dream Theater” the new album “The Astonishing”
I exercised to”Foo Fighters” the album “There is Nothing Left to Lose”
Jose Bautista calls out the Blue Jays’ owners knowing his contract is done at the end of this season. I think he just became a trade able player come July 31st pending on where the Blue Jays are in the standings. He didn’t say how long or how much he asked for. I assume it’s in the neighbour hood of $25,000,000 a year for 5 years. In his fifth year of that contract he’ll be 41 years old & his numbers likely wont be that good. I’d let him dangle & see who wants him & what can the Jays get in return? If their budget isn’t raised for the next few years they wont be able to afford him. Their budget for this year is roughly $145,000,000 with 5 guys including Bautista earning $17,000,000-$25,000,000 next year! A teacher should be making that kind of money, not people that PLAY A GAME FOR A LIVING!!!!!!!! Sign him, don’t sign him, it really doesn’t matter. Then Blue Jays analyst Gregg Zaun chimes in “…..he needs to put food on the table…”???????????????? That’s some expensive food! Maybe don’t have 2 plates of steak & lobster for 3 meals a day? Any average Joe doesn’t pull in that kind of cash? It’s like you’re winning the lottery every year????????? Trade the 2 big sluggers at the deadline, rebuild the depleted farm system, pick up someone capable & cheaper. Time to play “Moneyball”!!!! I want $8,000,000 for being an OK cribbage player! Give me $1-$100 I’d be happy & grateful. So how are the Jays going to do this year? I really don’t care as long as it’s entertaining.
Yes, there are far too many artists that passed to early. For some it was they didn’t realize the cocaine, heroin, acid, meth, etc. They didn’t realize what they were putting into their bodies could kill them.
I’d like to know what her motive is to lie under oath? There likely isn’t one at the moment. I don’t know what the upside is of sending a producer to jail? I’d call it a closed case once he’s in jail.
Pentatonix shared it…….
I think the internet died today? Not much out there today.
However you’re getting this, please pass it along?
I’m taking Monday off from the computer all together. Sorry, tomorrow you’re on your own
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!!! Probably
Yes, I went to Saskatoon on Friday to see “Trivium” on tour for the latest release “Silence in the Snow”
Lead singer & rhythm guitarist, Matt Heafy, seemed to be a much more confident frontman & knew how to work the crowd. It was pretty cool to hear the audience sing along with this song over the PA before “Trivium” came out!!!
Great show! Thanks to Mitch & Rachel for letting me tag along! We heard 1-3 songs from all 7 albums but the first album. Show was in Saskatoon at the O’Brian’s Event Center” a security worker saw me in a wheelchair as Mitch was pushing me up the ramp & cleared a spot for me at the counter they have cleared out for me the last 2 times I’ve been there! Trivium did a one song encore of this song.
Great show & it was done by 11:15 pm or so. We were back in Regina by 2:00 am.
We stopped for supper at a pub a few buildings down the street that opened in 2013, ended up missing most of the first of 2 opening bands. AWESOME service there too. Our waitress sat down with us, asked us where we were from, if we had been at the restaurant before, said she’d help us with the extensive drink menu as well as the dinner menu.
I’d have to say mine are “Tool”, “Barenaked Ladies”, “Rob Zombie”, “U2”, “Big Wreck”, “The Watchmen”, “Pearl Jam”, “Ozzy”, “Queen”, “Foo Fighters” & many more…….
New “Dream Theater” is no. 1 on the Billboard rock charts!! This is THE album for me right now!!!!
Friday evening we sat on our butts & watched disc 2 of season 6 of “Boy Meets World”
I got all 7 seasons on DVD for Christmas, it’s kind of a high school crush thing for me. Kim got mad at me recently. She came home from work I told her I had watched episodes that day. Now I know not to do that. Saturday, Kim had a hair appointment. Brewster & I spent the day at my parents place. Dad & I watched the first 2 “Hobbit” movies on his HD projector in the basement on his 84” screen. “Hobbit” movies, popcorn & coke, good times! Kim came over to my parents so the 4 of us could have some tasty tourtier for supper.
Sunday I plan to avoid the Super Bowl at all costs. I don’t watch NFL football at all, too long for me. Canadian Football League aka CFL is my football. I watch the CFL & MLB baseball. Both are scheduled as 3 hour games, NFL is scheduled for 4 hours a game + all of the hype before & after the game. Too much for me. Even if a CFL game goes into overtime it feels too long for me. Toronto Blue Jays baseball, I can watch forever. Last season I watched an entire 19 inning game, a regular game is 9 innings. There’s no such thing as a tie game in baseball, they just play until someone wins. I very rarely watch the NHL. Yeah, a Canadian who doesn’t watch hockey, that’s me. I check out the standings once in a while. I cheer for the Montreal Canadians, the Edmonton Oilers and anyone playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Even people in Toronto are disappointed with their hockey team & the attendance is dropping steadily from what I hear on “Prime Time Sports with Bob McCowen”.
“Red Hot Chili Peppers”. I’ve pretty much stopped listening to them “Californication” & “By the Way” are the only to albums now on my iTunes. The rest isn’t much to my liking.
Just watched Saturday Night Live. The musical guest was “The 1975” instantly reminded me of “INXS” who I really like so I pre-ordered their 2nd release on iTunes.
Then I figured since I’m on iTunes I might as well grab “The Northern Pikes” album “Snow in June”
Top 10 songs heard at sporting events. They won’t have the 3 songs you always hear at the home town Saskatchewan Roughriders games
If the Riders are about to win by a large margin you’ll fear this song. Haven’t heard this song at the stadium the last few years. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are terrible lately, & that’s an overstatement!
However you’re getting this, please pass it along?
I fell asleep to “Puscifer” the album “Money Shot”
I woke up to “Trivium” the album “Silence in the Snow”
February 5th 2008 will be a day I’ll have to acknowledge for the rest of my life. I wont celebrate it & I wont wish for history to repeat itself. This is the day I collapsed with stage 4 brain cancer. Oddly enough I had a flu for a week before I went to work that Monday. Sunday, February 3rd I had the worst headache I’ve ever had. Tuesday, February 5th I collapsed at work & that’s why this blog exists. It was suggested by my occupational therapist to keep people updated on my progress. I’m fine as long as I take the proper pills at the right time or else I wake up in the middle of the night.
Cover songs? I usually prefer the original. There is the odd occasion the cover is better. This first song I will always prefer the original.
Original followed by a cover which I prefer.
Risky to cover any “Pink Floyd” song!!!
I could go on forever showing different cover songs, I wont though here’s the last one though. I’ve got 60 “Foo Fighters” B-Sides, I’m guessing 40 of them are cover songs.
I like seeing a band play a song live than inspired them to make the music they make now.
This is the last one, I promise. The cover is no different than the original in this case.
If you like “Megadeth” at all, the new album “Dystopia” is great!
“Pearl Jam” released the album “Yield”, probably my favourite Pearl Jam album, February 3rd 1998. I was working with a tinsmith & his son installing A/C at a seniors home that summer. Played this album everyday in the car at 5:30 am on the way to the job. After high school graduation & before my first semester in the U of R.
I could do an entire different blog on Dave Grohl alone. I saw something on www.youtube.com about 10 albums you didn’t know he played on, then I thought “Hey, you missed 3 albums?”.
However you’re getting this, please pass it along?
Broken bones will heal. Words can hurt, especially if the victim has a good memory & tends to dwell on such things. Swearing is just words, I don’t mind them, they’re words with no meaning for me. I’m not going to use them since the entire world has labeled them as bad. If you’re offended by profanity, that’s fine…………..I get it. You’re the one who has defined it as a bad word, not me. This may seem odd to many but if you want to hurt ME in particular, swearing has little to no effect on me.
I fell asleep to “I Mother Earth” the album “Scenery + Fish”
I woke up to”Dream Theater” a sampling of the album “Octavarium”
I Mother Earth is marking this year as the 20th anniversary of “Scenery + Fish” playing the entire album front to back & some other stuff!!!!! “Scenery + Fish” was their break through album, their 2nd of 4 albums released when I was 16 years old. It went triple platinum in Canada! This also marks 20 years since they played in Saskatchewan. I saw them at the age of 16 in Saskatoon on the tour for this album!
“Hi everyone…yes been a bit quiet around here lately. That is about to change. 2016 is shaping up to be a pretty cool year for us and we just wanted to tell you a bit of what’s going on. This year is actually the 20th anniversary of our 2nd album, Scenery & Fish. That album did some pretty damn good things for us and took us around the world. It went triple platinum here in Canada, with four singles released from it. That shit just doesn’t happen anymore. So… we thought we’d celebrate a little. We’re hitting the road with S+F 20 Celebrating 20 years of Scenery & Fish. We’re going to play the whole album front to back as well as a bunch of other stuff to round the night out. A nice long evening with your pals, The Mothers. We have other announcements to come that fall under the S & F umbrella so please stay tuned…We’ve been busy. Anywhoo, here are the first couple of shows announced, more to come. Yell if you want us. Friday April 22, O’Brian’s Event Centre, Saskatoon. Saturday April 23, Casino Regina, Regina”
Yes, I know it’s the “in” thing to hate “Nickelback”, what’s the point though? How about just don’t listen to them. I’m not a fan either. I like “Foo Fighters”, “Big Wreck”, “Alter Bridge”, “Tool”, etc. There’s likely at least 5 haters for every fan of these bands.
“10 years” are back. I didn’t even know they were gone, I’ve never heard of them?
Top 10 important rock albums. I don’t necessarily listen to all of these, but I’d have to agree with this list. You could easily add more. The BIG ones for me are Nirvana, Radiohead, & Led Zeppelin! Just the “Physical Graffiti album from Led Zeppelin. Why aren’t the Rolling Stones on here?
I always get these 2 songs messed up. Just because they both have “rain” in the title. No Slayer’s not one of them.
Here they are, tour dates for Iggy Pop & Josh Homme

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Chevelle”. 7 albums on shuffle!
I didn’t even know “Chevelle” existed until last year when I borrowed a large collection from James last year!
Living in a condo has it’s pros & cons. “I’ve got 4 walls around me” a roof over my head, one of 2 washrooms that work (plumber coming this week to fix a leaky pipe). Nice comfortable bed, nice office area, nice paint, laminate floors, everything is great. The only two issues I have are we payed a butt load of money (thanks to our parents for helping us out), but it’s the condo board’s rules? We paid for our suite, what happens in here should be our rules? The other minor issue is the lazysusan cupboard. The cabinet makers measured wrong. It’s fine except the bottom hinge on that stationary cupboard falls apart. We took possession in December 2013. We have a 5 year warranty on the building. The hinge broke again the other night. Why do we have to continue fixing their mistake? I say our warranty is running out, we should have them fix their mistake before the warranty runs out? We don’t need to be rude about it, just tell them “Hey, this hinge keeps falling apart, please make it a functional cupboard”.
Beer & Alcohol DEFINITELY make you fat. Isn’t alcohol in general full of sugar? You sit down to have a beer or glass of wine at the end of the day, maybe you have 1 & it turns into 2? That’s a TON of extra calories. I don’t touch alcohol until Friday & Saturday, & I don’t drink to get hammered. I drink for the taste. After 2 drinks each Friday & Saturday I usually call it quits, on the odd occasion I’ll max out at 4 one night. I exercise Monday through Friday. Guess what? I may have lost 45lbs but I still have a beer belly. It’s getting smaller but it’s still there!
Oh, John Oliver!! Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. LANGUAGE!!!!
I’ve never joined a fantasy sports league. I did help out my sister-in-law with an office hockey pool, since neither her or her husband watch hockey. I just watch the highlights on TSN. I was a part of a facebook page where you’d just pick the winning team of 4 CFL games a weekend. That’s as close as I ever got to a fantasy league.
I guess we can add “The Deftones” to the list of bands that have canceled the rest of their tour due to the attack in Paris.
If Scott Weiland wants to return to the “Stone Temple Pilots” that would be great. I think he’d have to kick the drugs & alcohol first before the other 3 members would let him back?
Give the site a moment to load all of the links. It takes a bit for my computer & it crashes on Kim’s cell.
Why is iTunes illegal in the U.K.? They made it illegal because of the burning software? We’ve always been able to trade vinyl, 8 tracks, cassettes, & CDs. We we’re also allowed to make mix tapes & mix CDs? Now that’s illegal? So Apple Music, “free” music that you basically rent, can flourish? Once you pay $5.99 for digital music, that you own, now you can’t share it or burn a copy legally in the U.K.? That’s just weird? I really don’t care how you get your music. If it’s through a streaming site, I don’t get it? You pay $9.99 a month for “free” music, if you want to hear a song you downloaded today on Apple Music, in 20 years you may have to continue paying $9.99 a month to hear it in 2035. All of that time you’ve paid $2397.60 to hear the same song from 20 years ago?
Should a contractor do the same? “I built that house 20 years ago. They should pay me monthly until it falls to the ground”. Would you buy the house under that law? I personally wouldn’t. I tend to think Apple should distribute the money made through iTunes & the purchase of iPods needs to be re-evaluated & distributed fairly. They got the idea right, just the disbursement of money is screwed up. We’ve all been able to own our music, but now that’s illegal in the UK?
Jimmy Fallon making cocktails. “What do you do with Apricot Brandy?” If you’re Kayll Schaefer you catch up to Corey & I in 2002? Through a straw, whatever you’re friend left in the fridge! I don’t know how full the fridge was, but there was free Apricot Brandy in there! Doesn’t everybody get hammered on a Thursday when Friday is optional? Corey & I did.
Rock It Out Blog from Friday LANGUAGE!!!
Info on Deftones future release. I’m not a Deftones fan, never really have been.
Is Trivium “thrash” or not?……………wait……………….I don’t care.
So I wake up this morning screaming. I was dreaming. In my dream there was a rat coming at me & Brewster was with me. I was walking & Brewster was on his leash with me. I tried to kick the rat in my dream. I woke up & had kicked my wheelchair & woke up at 7:30 screaming in pain. Brewster was on me instantly to see if I was OK. He’s such a good dog. I fell back to sleep for a few minutes, then woke up for good at 8:00. I don’t have kids, but I don’t really sleep in. On the weekends I’m usually awake by 9:30 during the week I get up either when Kim leaves for work or I wake when she’s showering. Brewster is usually the last 1 in bed!
The Toronto Blue Jays scored half the points the Saskatchewan Roughriders did Saturday night. Blue Jays won their game 15-3 Riders lost 34-31. After 8 games the Roughriders have yet to win 0W-8L. Blue Jays will, at the very least, play a wild card game to get into the playoffs. Riders playoff hope? No, that’s a pipe dream.
Kim did it, we watched “Red Dragon”, the prequel to “Silence of the Lambs”. The movies aren’t as freaky as they were 12 or 13 years ago when I was alone house sitting for my grandparents. Big empty house after watching those movies, then going to bed? I ran up the stairs I was so scarred I’d see Anthony Hopkins behind me, trying to eat me!
20 years ago “Rancid” released “…And Out Come The Wolves”
