Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Iron Maiden” the album “The Final Frontier” & “Sum 41” the album “Order in Decline”

I exercised to “Billie Eilish” the album “When we die, where do we all go?” Kim & I saw her on Ellen & were both hooked!

No, I don’t hear voices in my head or anything else like that.  More often than not I overreact when something goes wrong.  I’m not perfect & I’m EXTREMELY critical about myself.  Lately I’ve been more conscious about relaxing in any instance when things go awry.  I could flip out about our A/C.  What good would that do?  I could have thrown a tantrum about having to redo our iTunes, what good would come of that?  I’d throw a tantrum, then feel just as small as the people who heard it.  Nobody deserves that.  I’ve made mistakes, & I learn from them.  Mostly I think to myself “How could I have handled that situation better?”  Much like when I was working.  If I made a mistake on a certain job, the salesperson or bindery workers would let me know & I’d approach it a different way.

At the end of the day, I just want things to be done right the first time, which doesn’t always happen.

I know I’m not perfect but that’s not going to stop me from trying to be better every day.  A guy with glasses, in a wheelchair, who is also weak with his arms, & who has anger issues, is not a guy to look up to.  I probably still have a long road ahead to address the effects of brain cancer, but it could be much worse.

I don’t take criticism well, why?  I know my speech & my strength aren’t anywhere near perfect.  I’m hard enough on myself.  If you can’t understand me, ask me to repeat what I said, I may say it louder, but I’m not yelling at you by any means.  I’m trying to speak clearly & a bit louder, just to make it clearer for you.  I’m sorry if anyone takes it as anger.

It was incredibly wrong of me to pick at people & point out, what I considered to be, their flaws in the beginning of this entire thing.  I did that to too many people, even one would be too many, my sincerest apologies to all.  Anyone could have turned the table on me & pointed out my MANY flaws.

I spent Tuesday with my parents in case the A/C went out again.  The guy was looking at it when I left, he’ll be here today with a valve rush ordered from B.C.  I guess the one they’ve replaced once is sticking & not able to allow the coolant through when it should.  Makes sense to me.  I hope this does the trick.

I’m usually hot anyways, but with it being so hot in here lately, I was cold at 3:00 am Monday night.  Kim had the comforter & I woke her up.  “What are you doing?” she asks, “Trying to get some of the comforter.  The sheet isn’t enough with the A/C working overnight, I’m cold.”

My parents were making a trip to the cabin to drop off some stuff.  Brewster & I tagged along on Tuesday.  We were there long enough to have a bathroom break, drop off a few things, & for Brewster to get covered in burs.  I tried to get some off but he yelped in pain.  He needs to see the groomer anyways, hopefully she can buzz most of them off, poor guy.  He sat on my lap the whole way back he just couldn’t get comfortable.

Great way to start the week, turn on my computron to see that a new “Big Wreck” album is set for full release on August 30th.  The tour hits Regina on Wednesday, November 13th!

Now if Tool does what they’ve said they will do, that makes 2 VERY anticipated album releases on the same day!

Speaking of “Tool”, here’s the artwork for the new album!

I don’t think “Tool” will release a single or preorder.  They prefer the listener to take in the album all at once.  I preorder on iTunes, however I’ll listen to the single at most 3 times.  I also prefer to listen to a full album.

1,200  That’s a TON of metal shows  I’m guessing I’ve been to roughly 300 shows in general, some metal, most aren’t.

I hope “Breaking Benjamin” fans are up for an acoustic album because here it comes.

I only have the one album everybody’s heard at least one song off of.  “Hysteria”.  Years ago before I was sick, I hit the “Autofill” button on iTunes & was flooded with random music, most of which I didn’t want & deleted ASAP.  Sorry Anne Murray, great voice but I don’t listen to your music.  “Hysteria” was among the 6 or 8 albums I kept.

No, I don’t listen to this much at all.  Most 1980s rock & metal aren’t for me.  I was born in January, 1980.  My parents didn’t listen to hard rock or metal from that time, well, never metal.  I grew up on Jimmy Buffet, Dire Straits, Glass Tiger, The Monkees, The Partridge Family, Fine Young Cannibals (which I own on CD), Queen, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, etc.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “…like Clockwork”

I exercised to “Pretty Vicious” a 4 song EP & multiple singles

+40 Celcius outside, & our A/C isn’t working at all.  I guess that means it’s +29 Celcius in our suite.  This is our 6th summer here & there’s only been 1 summer we haven’t had to call about the A/C not working.  That’s the main reason I exercise ASAP in the morning.  In the winter it will remain +20 Celcius & nobody in the building turns on their boiler heat & the A/C will freeze if we turn it on.  We open our balcony door in the winter just as much as we do for using the BBQ in the summer.

All of our windows face South so it’s usually +20 Celcius or more in here year ‘round without the boiler or A/C on.  I often wish we lived in igloos all year like some other countries assume we do.

We borrowed a fan from my parents on Monday.  By far the best sleep I’ve had in a month!

Chris Adler not up to drumming for “Lamb of God” yet after injury.  There’s an album I can stop waiting for this year.  😦

Billy Joel plays “Pour Some Sugar on me”.  Would be nice if you could hear his piano in the mix.

If you think metal fans are crazy, read this study

I listen to one of the bands mentioned.  I’ve heard a 2 or 3 of the others & I’ve never even heard the name of the majority of other groups.

This is real!  I called the Apple support line regarding this.  iTunes is gone, but the idea of it isn’t.  Anything purchased before or after the Apple update will stream.  Everybody will have the option to buy music or subscribe to the streaming service after the update.  One store, one media player, & 2 ways to attain music, purchase for the entire file or “download” it as a streaming item only.  Nothing is really changing except the software, you will need pretty much anything other than an iPod Classic to stream the music.  I have a new iPod touch coming soon, yet my iPod Classic still works.  For me this is not a big deal.  If you still have an iPod Classic, I recommend you get an iPod Touch, iPhone, switch music players & order CDs from Amazon.  Unfortunately the update does not support the iPod classic.  You’ll need a cell phone or an iPod Touch to use the update.

I think this is a very good move by Apple, since all I use it for is music!  The only downside of this move are the people who have working iPod Classics.  Mine still works but I have an iPod Touch on the way.  The update also includes PC computers.  What I forgot to ask is “If I stream the music I’ve paid for, do I pay the monthly fee to stream it?”  I don’t think that will be the case, but I could be wrong?  If I am wrong, I’ll just use it as a regular iPod classic, if it streams GREAT!  As for the release of the update?  It won’t happen until the fall of this year.

I don’t listen to Disturbed’s music, I haven’t listened to it since I heard their 3rd album & stopped listening to all of their albums.  Their lead singer doesn’t seem to take any criticism well, but he’s not against dishing it out!!!

Yep, the guy from the rap duo “Outkast”.  I bought the album on CD where the 2 of them made an album without the other guy.  I liked the Andree 3000 album more.  “The Love Below” he also acted in the movie “Four Brothers” with Mark Wahlberg.  About 4 adopted boys returning home to find the killer of their foster mother.

Here’s one of their hits as a rap duo.

It took a rocket foul ball to hit a very young child at a baseball game before players reacted saying there needs to be extended netting around the 3rd base & 1st base line.  What did analyst/former backup catcher Gregg Zaun say before he got the boot from Roger’s Media 2 years ago?  Something to the effect of ‘Don’t buy a ticket in that area if you can’t react fast enough for a ball or a bat flying into the stands’.  I don’t like the reason he was fired, sexual misconduct which means there’s at least one victim if not more, but I’m elated he’s gone.  Just sucks that his actions likely made someone a victim.

I fell asleep to “Alice Cooper” the album “Paranormal”, “Diemonds” the album “Never Wanna Die”, & finally “INXS” their “Greatest Hits”

Yeah, bonus live tracks at the end of this album.

I exercised to “Royal Blood” the album “How did we get so dark?”

Exercise total this week; 500 crunches, 500 leg lifts, 300 pushups, 200 back flexes, & 25 minutes of planking!  Every day starts with me exercising, no shower, dressed in workout attire, & no breakfast.  Once I finish my exercises, then I allow myself to have breakfast, shower, put on clean clothes, & usually in this room to work on the next blog.  Yep, I hit my goal every day this week.

I do get quiet exhausted after my 60 pushups.  I leave them for the end since I’m useless after them.  I roll on to my side or back since it’s easier to breathe!  I start my exercises on my back, crunches & leg lifts, once I roll on to my stomach & do ½ of my back flexes, I’m breathing pretty heavy already!  I end up doing some of my planking for a bit.  Once the back flexes & planking is done, then I’ll do a set of 20-30 pushups, then fish with 2 sets of 20 or a set of 30.

After I shower, I check to see if my balance has improved with my hands hovering by my transfer pole.  Some days are really good, & most days are bad.  When it’s a bad day I’ll try a few more times.  That’s the reason for the wheelchair & exercising!  I need to start walking with my walker at least once a week, if not 3 times a week.  When I do, I can tell that my exercising makes a HUGE improvement each time!  That being said, I’ve still have a long road ahead of me.

Chris Martin of “Coldplay” covers “Linkin Park” in tribute to Chester Bennington

I’m just easing my way into the world of “Slipknot”.  So far I have no complaints!

Odd, Gene Simmons is white & complains as much, if not more, than most people I know?

Alice Cooper I missed in July is downloading at the moment “Paranormal”

Looooong article of 10 things we didn’t know about “Def Leppard’s” album ‘Hysteria’!  The 10 things are highlighted followed by long descriptions, that’s all you really need to see, unless you’d like to read more.

Tentative album release date in the fall for “Trivium”

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked at my iPod today.  The “Paramore” album “After Laughter” & the “Alter Bridge” album “The Last Hero” are burning it up at over 90+ plays each!  “Big Wreck’s” album “Grace Street” is a close 2nd at 70+.

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” 60 B-Sides on shuffle.

Kim’s back is still causing her to be quite immobile.  She called & got an appointment with her chiropractor this afternoon.  She was laying on the laminate floor yesterday, with a wedge pillow under her knees, & an extra strength Tylenol.  Hopefully things get better after the chiropractor?

Sherry & James have been really good to us!  They kept Brewster for 3.5 years while I was sick & rehabilitating.  Now that I’m unable to drive, Sherry picking up our groceries & taking her sister to a chiropractor appointment today.  James is my computer guy & a flat out metal fan!  Sherry is there in a heartbeat for us if needed!

I shower after my exercise.  I stepped on our scale just to see if I had lost any weight, not necessarily my goal more of a byproduct from my exercise of being able to walk again.  The weight’s coming of slowly, but I guess that’s better than nothing.  Essentially I should be in the range of 215-220.  Right now I’m down to 233 from 265.  I was 260 when I went into the hospital.  The difference is that most of my fat went straight to my belly.  Before I was sick, I wore jeans with a 38” waist now I’m not sure what my waist is but I did have to wear a 40” waist a couple of months ago.

Not how I’d like to have the Blue Jays enter the playoffs, better than not at all I guess?  One game in Toronto against Baltimore on Tuesday.  Winner moves on, loser is done for the year.  If they had played better in April, nobody would have to wait on pins & needles for the last game of the regular season?  Instead of 11W-15L, I don’t think 13W-13L would have been out of the question?

Most hard rock & metal from the 1980s wasn’t ever my thing.  I was born in 1980, & that wasn’t the music I was exposed to.

I really like “The Agonist” new album “Five”

Friday seems “So Far Away” from me what with a new “Alter Bridge” album being released.

“Pearl Jam” at the 1993 MTV awards

Rock stars that have beat death.

Whenever I see something like this I think to myself “If civilians didn’t carry guns, would the police pull they’re gun out?  Probably if the perpetrator had a knife.  Would they shoot if not needed?  Wait were you there, do you know exactly what took place?”

If you think the police will shoot you, don’t call them & don’t cause any harm to anyone, why are you somewhere the police are needed, pretty simple?

I never got into “Nine Inch Nails” or any “industrial metal” for that matter

The “Alter Bridge” album that’s released on Friday should be right up my alley!!!!!!!

I like Norah Jones somewhat.

New music in the future for “Econoline Crush”?  I hope so!

I’d do more but that’s a TON of links to load. Sorry if they double, I’ll try to fix them but no guarantee? My back is annoying but I increase my exercise to my “normal” total daily!

I fell asleep to 2 albums, the 2 most recent albums by “Candlebox” first “Love Stories & Other Musings” from 2012. Then the album “Disappearing in Airports” released in April of 2016. Woke up in the middle of the night to pee, gotta stop that, & put on “Chevelle” the new album “The North Corridor”

I exercised to “Portal” the album “Blood Red Tape” My brother was listening to them in his car when we were with him. I think he said they’re an independent group from Alberta?

They have 3 albums on iTunes at the moment. This is the only one I’ve purchased so far.

This is for anyone & everyone who might find this interesting! Please help me out if you don’t mind? I’ve been sharing this publically on my page, I don’t think it’s helping? Please do what you can to spread the word?

Brain cancer & ALS aren’t a competition. This is how I look at it though, in my situation. I could have survived or died because of brain cancer. I don’t know much about ALS. From what I know, it ends poorly, to put it lightly. Surviving brain cancer I can work on things, everything. You can look at that as overwhelming or just start somewhere & chip away at it as long as you can. ALS, from what I know, is more of a “OH MY GOODNESS! What’s going to go first?” Once it’s gone you can’t really do anything about it, that would be terrifying to me! Sure I felt overwhelmed & angry at first, but I’m alive, I can work on myself, mentally & physically. Eventually it COULD be fine? Sure the odds are stacked against me. Do you gamble? The odds are stacked against anyone in a casino playing any game. I’m alive, it could be worse.

I have to admit, after 2 weeks of just stretching & resting my back, it’s difficult to get back into my routine of exercise, food, blog, TV. For years that was easy, sweaty, but easy & somewhat gratifying. I had never enjoyed exercising, especially cardio! I can ride an exercise bike forever, walking with my walker seems like too much effort for very little gain to me. When I lived at my parents place the recumbent exercise bike was in the basement. I’d pop in a “Lord of the Rings” movie & pedal for 3 hours no problem, I can still bike for an hour or more.

I get that musicians want to share what influenced them by doing a cover song. I loved playing cover songs live! That meant I didn’t have to write lyrics, just remember better lyrics. Foo Fighters do this for the majority of their B Sides on singles. You get a single from the album, a live song & either a cover song or a song that was cut from the album. Here are some original songs followed by their cover song by someone else. Some are good, some are OK, some are terrible, & some are “OK, why mess with a classic?”

Almost forgot about this one!

^^All of this is just off the top of my head!

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “I”, as in “In Flames” on shuffle!

Do or die tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays. 9 wins to win the World Series. 1 game between Texas vs. Toronto series is tied at 2-2. I hope the home plate umpire remembers that the plate is 18” wide & not 22” wide tonight?! Here’s hoping Kansas City beats Houston. Houston has a TON of free swingers, when they get a hold of a pitch, there’s a good chance it could leave the yard.

I don’t have much in terms of vinyl records. Now that Kim & I are in a condo we don’t have any room for it. I think we donated it to who knows where. Yes groups still release vinyl. From what my father tells me record players sell more often than CD players. We had roughly 20-30 albums on vinyl. There was about 4 that I listened too rarely; Led Zeppelin II, Tool “Lateralus”, Foo Fighters “One by One”, U2 “The Joshua Tree”, & Def Leppard “Hysteria”

I find the majority of pop music to be very disposable at the moment. Name a song post 2010 that is a well crafted pop gem? There are a few I can think of, are the musicians still popular/relevant? If I want to hear pop music there are a handful of things I’ll go to. Remember this is just my take on the subject.

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “S” for System of a Down!

Why am I not surprised by this? You knew someone was going to say something regarding Slayer?

How is Slayer attacking Jesus Christ? In Europe there are how many Church Burning black/satanic metal bands? Has Slayer or Iron Maiden ever burnt down a church? Not that I can think of. If you don’t like it, leave it alone. Slayer thanks you for the advertisement! I can listen to Slayer, but after a ½ hour it sounds a little repetitive? I get tired of a guy yelling at me, yelling not growling death metal vocals you can’t understand.

I like the new album by Finger Eleven. $45+ is quite a bit to see them in a bar though? The Saskatoon show in O’Brians Event Center for that amount is respectable. Great venue, boring drive!

Sorry, this popped up as a suggestion on www.youtube.com Hahahahaha!

I wish I could go to this show, but it’s tomorrow, Thursday, I don’t go out unless it’s a weekend usually.
