Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Exercise total for 4 days.

500 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

300 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

700 Crunches

600 Leg lifts

200 Squats

400 Back flexes

As for the hacker, stuffs probably going to keep happening.  Again a lot of weird stuff all at once.  I know it’s all connected but I don’t understand why someone does these type of things?  The few things I use digitally are useless.  So a HUGE waste of money on our part.  My Facebook news feed, youtube feed, & iPod are all just not working like they used to, my iPod got a lot of use & now it’s a really good paper weight.  Nothing harmful has happened thus far.  I’m not going to waste my time & energy worrying about it though.

I mentioned last week or earlier that I don’t feel sorry for myself.  I haven’t felt sorry for myself since mid-2015.  I’ve been in a quarantine situation/lifestyle since 2014, so this truly is normal to me.  Having been through it & getting really angry about it, I get that because I’ve been there & at the time I was acting like the biggest jerk in the world.  I’d say that the majority of others have handled this virus thing much better than me in 2014.

You’ll notice that my hobby is an indoor activity that I don’t need other people to do.  Because “Anyone can play guitar” with a little bit of motivation & a TON of passion to do it well goes a LONG way.  That was a total act of luck on my part, much like surviving cancer.  According to the doctors I shouldn’t be here right now.  I was given a 5-15% chance of ever coming out of A Coma & I was told by many doctors that my cancer would come back in 2013.  I figure I’m here for a reason so I should make the best of it.

I was watching a baseball game the other day & realized that I still don’t relax.  I finally got off the couch & grabbed a guitar to practice while watching the game.  Whatever I watch on TV always makes me feel guilty since I think I should be doing something more productive.

There are many times that I feel like I don’t contribute much here as things are because I don’t earn my sub-$30,000 paycheck a year.  I do dishes, I typically tend to the dishwasher, I make my breakfast & lunch for the week, I clean the areas I can get to in the bathrooms, but I wouldn’t be able to do any of that without Kim going out & doing her stuff first.  Doing that amount of exercise each week makes my road to recovery better & I take pride in it but always remember to be humble.  I often feel like a mooch regardless.

I can’t just spend money all WILLY NILLY on guitars.  We have that income tax to deal with this year & I still have to sell my 7 string, which is being repaired as it fell over & had a purely cosmetic flaw on it.  It’s repaired & more by a local luthier.  I got last night, wish I knew how to play a 7 string guitar?  He did a LOT more than fix the tiny blemish he redid the tuners, wrapped new strings a different way & adjusted the neck, it sounds MUCH better!  I’ll likely post it for sale Monday or Tuesday.

I caught myself watching/reading more reviews & demos on Mark Morton’s signature Jackson Dominion which is chambered, has locking tuners, & coil splitting ability so instead of it being on the fence, it’s in for now.  I ended up seeing a demo/review of the PRS Special Semi hollow and I still say it’s nice but WAY too much money.  Heck a Core PRS guitar and a Trini Lopez are both individually WAY too expensive.  Watching demos on any Core PRS is just “poison” for me.  Now I want all 4 of the less expensive guitars.  “I NEED ALL THE GUITARS!!!!”  I will say that PRS’ marketing got me hook, line, & sinker…even though I’ll never be able to afford any Core model.

LANGUAGE, A LOT OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is now in the mix with the PRS S2 McCarty 594, Godin Radiator, & Sterling Cutlass!

I’m so glad I’m (hopefully) done guitar shopping.  I don’t even want to hear, see, or smell any news about another guitar…yeah I’ve seen people smell a guitar.  I just want to hunker down and play them!

I can’t convince Kim to use our credit card for this, she wants me to be responsible & save for them!  What’s responsible about buying a guitar in the first place????  Responsibility left the building a LONG time ago!

Well since I’m (trying) to be responsible, I’ll order the PRS S2 McCarty 594 in early December then I’ll see if any of the other 3 guitars are still available.  I can pretty much guarantee that I’ll be shopping again for suitable & hopefully cheaper replacements once something is out of production.  Income tax can’t wait, so any guitar purchase is put on hold in order to be ‘responsible’ oh, & our RSP & RDSP.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was watching “The Conners” and one of the 44 year old daughters is going to rehab for alcoholism.  The family was trying to find an affordable rehab center.  I’d just like to have enough money to have a drinking problem in the first place.

I’ve been playing/practicing this song all week while watching baseball so it’s coming along just fine.  Kim will be sick of this riff by the time I know it, if she isn’t already!

When you’re practicing something on guitar people say to practice at a slower tempo.  So I’m learning a song at the wrong tempo only to eventually speed it up?  I practice a song at the proper tempo & iron out the parts I have trouble with as I repeat the song many times.  To me it’s like doing 2 lessons once.  It may take me a bit longer to learn but it seems like a better approach to it all, to me that way.

I’m waiting to hear about an album from Alter Bridge’s lead guitarist Mark Tremonti.  I assume there’s no news because his bass player, Wolfgang Van Halen, is releasing his debut solo album.

If you missed it, I put up a post on the website Saturday.  If you go to this link www.amillionmilesawayblog.com it will take you to the site and its right below this post.

Last week’s exercises felt really good & satisfying.  I kind of ruined my sleep pattern over the weekend though.  I stayed up until after 2:00 am on Friday night.  I was determined to go to bed early on Saturday but it was after 3:00 am by the time I went to bed.  Needless to say I slept in until 8:45 am yesterday and did my exercise after cleaning up Brewster’s dry diarrhea in my exercise area.

I did add an extra 50 crunches to yesterday’s exercise & I hope to keep it at that level.  There’s also a possibility that I’ll add 30 more shoulder raises twice a week within the next month.  My weights went well this morning so the shoulder raise might increase in more repetitions in a couple months?

It’s a short 4 day week & Kim has Monday off too.  I think I’ll do 5 days of exercise this week anyways.  Friday’s post might be a bit later than usual?

The hacker did it last night & it looks like more of the same tonight.  Kim watches more TV than I do so I’m guessing they got into our digital cable since our hour long news last night & tonight is/was 4 hours long and blocked & will block stuff Kim watches.  MESS WITH ME, NOT MY FAMILY & FRIENDS!  Got me again this morning I woke up to what I thought was the hatch to the attic flapping in the wind.  Nope it was this, which I don’t own on my iPod and I may start streaming some…

Kim amazes me every day.  Out of the blue it’s 6:30 pm on Saturday, we hadn’t even discussed supper.  She was in the kitchen baking so I got out of the way, not enough room for both of us in the kitchen with me in my wheelchair.  She calls me to kitchen saying “Supper’s ready”.  I had no clue she was making supper too.  I go to the kitchen & she has baked/roasted yam fries & barbeque steak ready to eat.  I just asked before & after supper if there was anything I could do or help with & she’s all “No, I got this”  WOW.  I told you she’s SUPER AWESOME!

I get a weekend, it’s just cut into chunks.  Half of Friday, half of Saturday, & all of Sunday.  I’m paying guitar whenever I can though.  Even for 3 minutes.  They’re on stands in the open.  I can roll up to one grab it and practice something for a bit.  Or I’ll play one of my semi hollow guitars if I’m watching TV with Kim, she always tells me that my acoustic is too loud.  Weekends are very tame here, Covid or not.

I’m more than ready to see a live band but at the same time I’m nervous about catching the virus.  I know “Foo Fighters” are itching to play live.  I know “Big Wreck” has something for fans come November.  If there were live concerts scheduled for early next year, I’d be in assuming we’ve all had 2 shots of the vaccine.  I might look like an idiot since I’d still be wearing a mask, but at least I’d be safe.  Maybe I should get a matching iPatch?

Why didn’t I include the members of “Big Wreck” in my wish list?  My Thinline Telecaster is signed by Ian Thornley & I love that guitar, it sounds great!  It’s not his signature “Suhr” guitar (new in mid-2020), but it’s great!  I wouldn’t change it ever.  I’ve never played a “Suhr” guitar.  I know they’re expensive, I hear they’re fantastic, & they look similar to “Fender” guitars.

The only guitar I’d change, just for an upgrade, if I had the money is my PRS S2 Custom 22 semi hollow to the new 2021 PRS Core Special semi hollow, a Core PRS is just too much moola for me at over $5000.

It’s the same colour as my Custom 22, it has phase 3 locking tuners, 3 different pickups compared to my 2, and a thicker, prettier, & a MUCH more expensive maple top on it that is hand carved, mine is thinner, cheaper, and machine beveled but it sounds GREAT!  If I had that much money burning a hole in my pocket, I’d order it & wait a year or more for it to be made.  That’s probably something I’d do when I’m 75+ years old.  Sell my guitars for a really nice one to give to someone when I die?  It’s a thought for now.

Just reading up on my 3 final guitar purchases!  S2 McCarty 594 started in January of 2020 that’s my next order/purchase.  The Godin radiator & Sterling Cutlass were put into production this January.  The end is near & I like it!  I can’t stop looking at that Godin Radiator, I just LOVE the look of it.  It looks like a very simple design but it sounds like a beast & it’s so affordable, I love it & I’m super excited to get one……in two years.

The S2 McCarty 594 is VERY expensive & will be approaching my limit on a single guitar purchase.  An actual Core PRS is FAR beyond what I would pay!  Those are for “…doctors n’ lawyers n’ such…”  The Godin & Sterling combined are far less than the S2 McCarty 594!  I’m not even sure which guitar I’m so excited about the PRS, Godin, or Sterling?!  Probably the PRS S2 because I’ve wanted it for what feels like forever closely followed by the Godin because it’s got a great sound, different looking Les Paul, & it’s made in Canada, then the Sterling because of the roasted maple neck which is a new trend in the guitar world & locking tuners on a very inexpensive guitar!

Do you remember that feeling in your stomach as a young kid on Christmas Eve?  That’s how I felt this weekend!  I don’t know if I was just excited to order the guitars, glad that they’re all newer production runs, that 2 of the 3 are super inexpensive but AWESOME, or that I was done guitar shopping!  If I could I’d have rushed out & ordered them all ASAP!  “I felt like such a little girl”!

What REALLY gets my goat is that when I get the money from the sale of my 7 string & with the money I have saved in the bank to spend on these 3 guitars.  I’d have enough to order & buy the Godin & Sterling, but I’d have to save even more to order the PRS S2.  All of this depends on what I sell the 7 string for & I’m pretty sure I’m not out to lunch on what I’m thinking!?

New guitars have skyrocketed in price in the last 20 years.  It’s probably a good combination of my ignorance & inflation in the market.  The stuff I have from the beginning of 2001 to the end of 2002 would now cost $500 or more than it did then.  Cheap nice guitars & used guitars all over the USA if you live there, Canada….not so much.  The S2 line of PRS is roughly $700 less if you live in the USA & depending on what model you’re buying.  Even the Canadian made Godin is $100 less in the USA.  This has already turned into a guitar shopping blog.  Sorry about that, I’ll pull back on that topic “I plomise”.  Skip to the 2:30 minutes.

I’m just in a really good mood being done with guitar shopping for different sounds & tunings.  I guess I’m also excited for regular season Blue Jay baseball that starts this week.  I can watch baseball & play my LOUD acoustic and finally put these parts together, instead of the song being in 3 different sections that I can get up to speed!

I really don’t like that my cancer affected so many other people at the time than just me.  If it was just me, that would have be fine.  It’s much like my ongoing issue with my computer hacker.  Mess with me all you want, but don’t affect other people.  Too bad the world doesn’t work that way.

We rented “Promising Young Woman” Saturday night.  Sad, odd movie but VERY interesting/gripping story.  Sad and satisfying ending.  I’d recommend it.

I tallied up how many TV shows I watch a week & including the daily/nightly talk shows, “Blue Jay” baseball, & “Saskatchewan Roughrider” football w/ games that affect them in the standings the grand total is a whopping 10 and there’s usually a guitar in my hand practicing a pattern I’m working in a song.  Something I know mentally but that I can practice without looking at my hands.

I just saw a monologue by Jimmy Kimmel poking fun at T****.  I wish the media would get off of this topic.  He’s not President, he had no wisdom for anyone during the pandemic, went golfing on tax payer’s money, & told the public to inject disinfectant.  He wasn’t relevant then, other than being a terrible Preident/Leader & he’s even less relevant now.  The less we all talk about maybe he’ll just go away?   I know it’s topical click bait, but HOLY T**** fatigue!

I’ve picked 4 electric guitar songs to finish learning in the next however long it takes?  I’ll give myself 2 weeks.  I knew 1 before I got sick & I’ve messed around a bit with the other 3.

I started working on 3 of them on Sunday.  I don’t wait for things to happen with what I do.  If I’m teaching someone to do something, I’ve got all the time in the world they need to understand it.

I spent the majority of my time on guitar last week learning & applying improvisational skills, replaying a few song, creating bits & pieces of songs, learning basic 12 bar blues licks & chords, & playing these 2 songs a LOT…

“Royal Blood” released their 3rd single from their upcoming album ‘Typhoons’ out on April 30th.

I’ve seen them twice, first opening for “Foo Fighters” the 2nd time they opened for “Queens of the Stone Age” on their most recent tour in 2019 or 2018?  Turned my dad onto “Queens of the Stone Age” a bit too.  I’ve seen “Foo Fighters” 5 times & my dad has seen them 4 times the first time he saw them was just after I came out of a coma & my parents took the tickets Kim & I had bought months before in 2007 & they both cried all the way through the concert, because they were watching my favourite band still not knowing if I’d survive.

I watched a movie on Saturday, a long movie.  I can’t believe I spent that much time on the couch watching TV.  I’ll easily watch a televised 3 hour long baseball game, recorded & with a guitar in hand usually.  It doesn’t take 3 hours if you’re fast forwarding through the commercials though.

I watched the Zach Snyder cut of “Justice League” it was FANTASTIC!  WAY better than the original release with only about 20-25 minutes of footage from the original release.  So why wasn’t it the initial release?  Because its 4:02:?? hours long & there wasn’t as much footage of the super heroes in their super hero outfits.  If you’ve ever seen the movie “300” that was the vibe you got from this version, a MUCH deeper story, & more regarding the origin of “Flash” & “Cyborg”.  MUCH darker than I’d ever expect from a super hero movie.  Tied up the story better as well as leaving things wide open for future movies.

Regarding the photo of the guitar I received last week.  I know I look grumpy and unimpressed.  So not the case though.  Any new guitar day is AMAZING & I’m always very blessed to have any guitar!  Just because I look disappointed on the outside doesn’t mean that I’m not filled with joy! That’s just my resting Chris face.

While I was watching the movie all day Saturday, Kim was being responsible & smart doing our taxes.  I’m pretty easy, I bring in no income other than from the government.  No income = no tax.  We saved a lot of money during the year that shall not be named.  After Kim did our taxes & double checked over the phone Sunday morning, apparently the Government saved a lot of money too.  I thought she got the short end of the stick last year, OH HOW WRONG I WAS.  With Kim working on contract she should be paying tax every paycheck, unfortunately she forgot about it last year.  Ah well, we’re done with extravagant purchases this year & maybe the guitar I was going to order in December gets pushed a little further away?  I was hoping to use the money from the sale of my 7 string towards the S2 McCarty 594 but we’ll figure it out along the way.  We’ll know more in a month & December we’ll decide what is needed where.  This means our condo will not be for sale next year.

So here’s hoping this is still in production when I go to order it next year?  It should be since it was put into production in January 2020.  I’ll figure it out when I go to order it.  January is the BIG trade show for music companies in L.A. called NAMM.  That’s when companies introduce new products while eliminating a few others.  Yes I’m streaming music & I still don’t like the idea of me doing that.

There’s not a cheaper alternative for this guitar like the other two have.  There’s only the MUCH more expensive & less desirable 1959 Gibson Les Paul ($3000 +) reissue or the even more expensive Core PRS ($5000+) of this model.  There is NO WAY I’ll spend $3000 on a guitar though, they’re both not viable options.  After this purchase the last 2 guitars significantly diminish in price, especially the made in Canada Godin Radiator.  The most meaningful part of this guitar is that it’s made in Canada.  I don’t know of any other quality guitars made in Canada at that price point.

The blue PRS S2 McCarty 594 was introduced to the more affordable S2 line in January 2020.  I’ve been told the white Schecter Tempest is new as of this January.  The Godin Radiator design has been in production since 1999, apparently this is part of a new line though & I can’t find when this line was created?

After Kim checked on our taxes “Sunday Morning”, she picked up our groceries and I spent most of my day in the kitchen.  I made my usual juice, eggs, & fish for the week.  Brewster now eats raw stewing beef.  He’s 15 years old & getting picky about what he eats.  It’s supposed to be good for his dry skin & he likes it and eats it with no hassle.  The only other thing he’s ever interested in eating is whatever I’m eating.  Kim & I could be eating the exact same meal, but he knows who’s more likely to share with him.

I cut up some stewing beef on Saturday to make a few meals for him.  We cut up the beef into little bight size pieces (5mm X 5mm) for him so he’ll actually not get it caught in his throat and maybe chew it.  We then put little bags of meat in meal size portions in the freezer.  I cut up 1 ½ pounds of beef for him this weekend but it felt like 20 pounds because it took so long, especially when he’s sitting on the floor right beside me quietly growling just to let me know he’s there, for a solid hour.

Brewster hates it when I’m in the kitchen.  He’s usually freaking out frantically checking each room and growling or following me very closely making sure I’m doing everything right.  I think on Sunday I was in the kitchen for a good 3 hours straight getting everything together for the week & taking care of the dishwasher.  Brewster shadowed me most of that time.

I didn’t watch the Grammy Awards because I know the categories I’m interested in wouldn’t be televised.  I only know about this issue because it’s everywhere on the internet.  These people have every right to perform this way in a free society.  Everybody complaining about it also has the right to change the channel or not watch it.  Too many people decided to watch it for the freedom to be malicious & complain.  Get over it, you’re really going to complain about a 4:30 minute portion of TV?  Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion thank you for boosting the success of their performance with every comment, positive or negative.  I watched on the internet to see what everybody’s commenting on, I’m sure I won’t be the only one.

The number of active Covid-19 cases in Regina are ridiculously high right now!  Just wait until March 29th, 2 weeks after St. Patrick’s Day.  We never leave the house, we did go for a drive this week for a “milkshake” but it was more just to get out of the house.

I don’t have a milkshake & if I think I do, nobody comes to my yard!  I figured out ‘Layla’ by “Eric Clapton” it was just a matter of memorizing it, & now practicing it into the ground.

Not as fun to play as this song by “Pearl Jam”.  I would have never tried this without multiple guitars because it’s in open D tuning.

I spent Monday learning 3/7 modes on guitar.  A major scale with a certain note or 4 notes that are either sharp or flat.  I’ll be working on these for quite a while, beginning as soon as this is posted.  I’ll work on them individually.  Spend a LOT of time on one, memorize it, apply it, & on to the next one.

I’d post a video of my playing but I really tense up when the camera’s on, guitar or no guitar.  Cameras are really not my thing.  I will gladly make a stupid face, obscene gesture, or whatever I can to not have the photo seen.  It is one of my least comfortable moments.

I was falling asleep listening to some “Big Wreck” I think, but I woke up to “Seether” playing ‘Careless Whisper’ by “WHAM!”  I’m pretty sure I don’t have much if anything by “Seether” on my iPod touch?  I must have bumped it during the night?

Nope the iPod thing happened again Sunday night.  REALLY hacker!!!  Get another hobby already!

As for the song ‘Careless Whisper’ by “WHAM!”….I guess thank you “Deadpool” for reviving “WHAM!”?

So my friend has a Schecter & a REALLY nice hollow body by Gretsch and thinks they’re great.  Phil is all about the S2 McCarty 594 & Schecter as a Company & specifically the Tempest model for it being so original in the shape of the guitar.  I see these all as win, win, win situations…hello F.O.M.O. you’re back. https://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/custom/tempest-custom-vwht-1-detail

These purchases will be much slower than last year since we’re still spending some cash on renovation stuff, my RDSP, and Kim’s RSP.  I’ll get the Squier by the end of the month, it’s already paid for.  The S2 McCarty 594 is next on the list & will be next year or the year after, followed by the Tempest when we have the cash?

When the hollow body Starcaster gets here, Kim might let me play guitar while were watching TV?  She complains that my acoustic is too loud, but she’s ALWAYS on here cell phone while watching TV?

Just for fun I checked out the American price on the S2 McCarty 594 on this VERY common website for guitar purchases https://www.sweetwater.com/ & yeah they’re $450 less retail in the USA.  I was thinking I should start selling my body for the S2 McCarty 594 but quickly realized I wouldn’t have any buyers?  Kim probably wouldn’t approve or she might become my pimp?  I guess 50% of nothing doesn’t add up to anything.  I may not have the cash at the moment but at least I know what I’d like to get.  I’ve come across 2 less desirable (maybe) backups for the Tempest, but nothing worthy of the PRS S2 McCarty 594.

We started dating in April of 2002, she bought me my “Dave Grohl” inspired, black Epiphone Explorer for Christmas 2002.  Last year for my 40th birthday she bought me the 7 string Epiphone Les Paul signature guitar by Matt Heafy.  Once the Squier gets here I will have paid for 2 ½ guitars myself.

Yes, each of these guitar links shown are exactly the shape, colour & electronics of the guitars I plan to order, pending something isn’t discontinued?

We started watching “Your Honor” on Crave Saturday night, I’m hooked

We finished watching the 8 part series Monday night, it’s REALLY good!

Kim had to run some errands before we got into “Your Honor”.  I watched the first 20 minutes of “Deadpool” for probably the 28th time, instant classic for me!

Donald Trump was acquitted…again.  I think the Senate Republicans have completely lost their morals.  In the end I don’t think it matters.  There’s still an FBI investigation pending, & if he’s not convicted of crime through that, I think 2 or 3 people died in the Trump fueled riot.  Maybe he’ll be convicted in one of those trials?  I see him tied up in court cases for some time, if not convicted in one of them soon.  If he tries to flee the USA, every Country has the right to build a wall & send the bill to Donald J. Trump.  I heard he has 30ish investigations involving him, something will get him in the end.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy any future albums by “The Pretty Reckless” so I started streaming the new album Saturday night, and I like it.  Singles didn’t do anything for me on their own but in the context of the album I really liked it!?  I ended up buying the album through iTunes.

Yeah, that’s Tom Morello’s guitar (Rage Against the Machine & Audioslave guitarist) he plays on this track.

The late Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang Van Halen preformed a song on Jimmy Kimmel Live from the album to be released in June?  Wolfgang also plays bass guitar in the band Tremonti.  Mark Tremonti’s solo project of Alter Bridge formerly of Creed.

Damn it!  Another album I might buy when it’s released!  Good grief, I’m trying to save up for my last 2 guitars!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total;  00 leg lifts, 00 crunches, 00 squats, 00 back flexes, 0 pushups, 200 curls (10 pounds), 00 tricep extensions (7 pounds), 50 shoulder raises (7 pounds).  Stretching & TONS of yoga.

I fell asleep to “Of Monsters & Men” the album “Fever Dream”

Not the greatest of weeks.  Our dream house was sold officially as of Tuesday evening.  I got the link update Wednesday morning.  I spent Monday evening & Tuesday evening worrying about it & stayed up to late.  Felt better as Thursday went on.  There was a viewing of our place Thursday, which is great, but if anyone makes an offer, where do we go?  Regina’s not a big city & something accessible for me seems to be a rarity at best.  We took the viewing time to see another house (just the neighbourhood & the outside) in an area that’s nice, but so far away from every other part of the city!

I’ve been trying to educate myself for the federal election on Monday.  The more I dig, the more I realize why I haven’t voted in 21 years.  I watched the federal debate twice which was oh so uninformative.  It was pretty much me & the candidates at a bar for an evening at the end it felt like “Well, we’re the last 2 people here, I guess you’re it”.  I’m sorry but 6 candidates to choose from & not one of them has EARNED my vote.  I’ll vote since I said I will, but I’d much rather continue to exercise my right not to vote!  MAYBE I’ll vote again………….in 21 years.  Waste of my time & energy.  “Let’s promise the moon to everyone, then pretend we never said that”.  I don’t know of an elected politician that has followed through on what became empty promises.  Somebody please prove me wrong after this election?

Kim’s teeth are done & she’s happy with them.  Now the bill.  Then Brewster’s tests & medication.  Then Christmas gifts to purchase.

So I’ve spent this week stressing HARD about all of this, mostly finding a wheelchair accessible house, which seems hopeless.

I haven’t felt like eating or working out this week so far.  What am I looking forward to this week?  Watching the Rider game on TV tonight that’s in B.C. Other than that “I’m broken” for now.

I may be down now, but Monday is the start of a new week!

How I’m feeling as of Thursday night & even more so Friday morning.  Instead of stepping back & looking at a big picture of overwhelming stuff, I took a step closer.  I saw one thing at a time.  I can chip away at things one by one & clear up all of this one thing at a time.

The election will be over on Monday, after that we can focus on Brewster’s health.  While doing that we’ll look for a house.  Through all of this I’ll get back into my smaller routine of exercising daily.  There will be interruptions but that’s life.  Ideally we’d be moving into our new house by mid-November, but it’s been purchased, we can’t change that, just move on & keep doing our thing.

If you’re of age & not easily offended I hope you’ve seen “Deadpool”, if not you’re WAY too late!  Since the 3rd Deadpool could be in the beginning stages!?

Sell out or don’t, as long as you’re happy with where you are & how you got there & didn’t forget the people that helped you get there, be happy but humble!

My last 2 album purchases before Christmas are released today.  “Alter Bridge” & “Jimmy Eat World”.  I know I’ll be listening to a TON of “Alter Bridge”, “TOOL”, “Big Wreck”, “In Flames”, “Billie Eilish”, etc. for the rest of the year!  There was a TON of great music that was released this year & it’s only mid-October!

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

P.S. I had to pick up a prescription this morning for my bladder infection, that’s why this is a bit late.  Back from the doctor, no bladder infection I have to “retrain” my bladder.  I needed some refills on other medications too.

Friday was quite tame as usual.  Part 4 of “The Ranch” was on Netflix.  I think we ended on episode 3 & Kim fell asleep on the couch, she’s quite tired come Friday & it seems to get warmer in here as the day goes on.  All I did was exercise in the morning, shower, load the dishwasher, run it, do some hand wash dishes & empty the dishwasher.  I feel like I just rolled a marathon.  How did I get so sweaty?

I wonder how they’ll deal with Danny Masterson (Rooster from The Ranch or Hyde from That 70s show) being accused of rape.  This is the most recent news I’ve heard regarding this.

Saturday we were up late & had some friends over.  We watched “Office Christmas Party” then “Deadpool”.  Even after roughly 20 of seeing it, it never gets old for me!

Sunday.  Kim has more Christmas stuff to tend to.  She went out this morning to get a new cell phone.  Her iPhone fell out of her purse while in the parking garage & the glass broke.  I slept in, I showered while she was out, then we watched “Tanked”.  I miss having a fish tank, we were really good at killing fish.  We tried everything, perfect heat, no heat, proper PH balance, distilled filtered water, fresh filtered water, 1 fish added at a time, 5 fish added at a time, etc.  Nothing worked, we’d have 3 fish die a week!  I was baffled!

Now I’m off to watch SNL with Foo Fighters as the musical guest, then get ready for the week, as usual

I just thought this was a very good interview/speech with Simon Sinek!

Tool news.  I personally don’t & won’t believe anything I hear about a new album until it is actually released.  Why?  I have no reason to believe them.  They do this far too often!

I’ve never been a Kiss fan & even less of a Gene Simmons fan.

Pitchers Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, & Roberto Osuna should be untouchable.  All 3 are excellent, young, all have a bright future & are under contract for a few years.  In my opinion don’t trade them, if the Blue Jays do, they had better get something REALLY good in return.  Stroman & Sanchez are potential Cy Young award winners & Osuna is almost a guarantee to get 3 out in the 9th inning.  They’re all in their early 20s.  Unless they’re getting a superstar in return, no reason to trade them.

Friday ended with us watching our recorded shows on our DVR.  Saturday I slept in while Kim started cleaning since Brewster & I were still sleeping.  When Kim cleans, it’s always best to stay out of the way.  On top of that she went grocery shopping!  Then we cleared off the DVR & watched the Demi Lovato documentary on www.youtube.com REALLY good, I recommend it, it’s called “Simply Complicated” phenomenal voice too!

Full movie here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWTlL_w8cRA  or below.

Sunday I went to my parents’ place to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders play the Ottawa Redblacks.  Roughriders crossed over to the eastern division & we won!!!!!!!!!!  Next week we play the Toronto Argonauts.  We also watched the Edmonton Eskimos beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the western division.  They play the Calgary Stampeders next week.  I cheer for 3 teams the Riders, anyone against Calgary, & anyone playing against B.C.  Yes, that’s how I’m gonna be.

Today is more getting ready for the week, & Kim will go to the gym.

Yes, at the moment I’m all for comic book movies, & I’ve always enjoyed cartoon movies & Star Wars.  These last two have been my favourite movies of all time along with “Deadpool”, which is difficult to find an appropriate trailer of.

The trailer is rated R

I fell asleep to “Metallica” the new album “Hardwired”, got up to pee & listened to “Soundgarden” the album “Badmotorfinger”

I did a lot of stretching to “Anthrax” on shuffle

Let’s get one thing straight here.  I’m the man-baby of this house!  Not this man baby…

I’m not necessarily trying to lose weight, when I’m rid of this nerve problem, I’ll lower my exercise somewhat.  Maybe to 6500 crunches, 500 squats, 500 leg lifts, & 500 pushups a week, and some walking or exercise bike on Saturdays.  We are walking in our suite, with this pinched nerve on Saturdays, just to move the muscle a bit.  I don’t walk a huge amount, my foot starts to tingle and then I sit down.  Energy wise I could go much further, but my tingly foot prevents me, that’s why we’re walking in our suite.  I say we because Kim comes with me to make sure I don’t fall & crack my head open.

Despite me not really exercising over the holidays I’ve managed to lose more weight.  I have the time to exercise, & my diet stayed fairly consistent.  Sure there was alcohol, cookies, chocolate, gingerbread, etc.  Instead of devouring all of it, I had it in moderation.

My breakfast & lunch are quite healthy.  A hardboiled egg & a glass of blended fruit & vegetables for breakfast, sometimes multi grain Cheerios with skim milk.  Lunch is usually some fish, then vegetables or rice crackers & hummus for a snack in the afternoon.  Supper usually involves wild rice & quinoa with some type of meat or a stir fry of some type.  I don’t need to pay someone to tell me what to eat, I’m lucky that way.  I understand if other people do though.  I’ve never been so focused on anything before.  The weight loss is a byproduct from my exercise and diet to be able to walk, be more independent & more able bodied.

Sorry I need to get some Toronto Blue Jays stuff off of my chest.  Mostly, IS ANYBODY DOING ANYTHING THIS OFF SEASON??????  Every team seems to be sitting on their hands.  Spring training starts in mid-February, 2 weeks & a few days.  There was a PILE of sluggers on the free agent market, & there still is a few.  The Blue Jays went into the off season trying to get younger, more left handed, & faster.  Everybody involved from Edwin Encarnacion, his agent, & the Blue Jays’ GM screwed up royally and Edwin ended up in Cleveland for less money.  Edwin left to see if he could get more than the Blue Jays had offered $80,000,000 over 4 years.  The GM signed a 33 year old switch hitting designated hitter for $33,000,000 over 3 years bargain, right?  Sort of!  If I see that guy putting on any kind of glove other than a batting glove on, I’ll be yelling at my TV loud enough they’ll hear me in Toronto.  This off season is very close to being over & they need to fill in some holes yet.  They’re getting a good backup catcher, who will be 32 in May & he’s a switch hitter.  Now they need, 2 left handed relief pitchers, a left fielder & I’d like to see 1 more outfielder or first baseman.  That’s a lot to do in a limited amount of time!  The link below is one of the sites I get my Blue Jays info from, that site & other sports talk shows.

That’s a tough choice for me.  Both “The Agonist” & “Stitched up Heart” are really good!

After this post, no more Trump talk, this might become shorter?

I wish most people had a second chance at life like I do.  My dad always told me “You can do anything you put your mind to”.  Very true.  I screwed up my second chance.  I was focusing on the incredibly small flaws in other’s instead of focusing on how to make myself better, my head just wasn’t focused on what it should have been on.  Sometimes I’m shocked by what I’ve done, usually something positive, this last time in 2012 HOLY COW NO!

I watched most of the inauguration festivities yesterday.  The entire time it felt like I was watching a funeral instead of a celebration.  The Trump said his speech & regurgitated/summed up his campaign speeches by throwing pretty much every current politician under the bus in order to make him look better when he fixes what he has broken.  Assuming he can actually fix what he’s done.  During his speech it was raining/God was crying!

I’m not a political person at all but I was this election.  We as Canadians now share a border with a country that is ruled by a terrorist.  I’ll give him 6 months & see what has changed for the better?

Trump isn’t President yet.  I was watching the inauguration coverage on CNN or “fake news” as Trump calls it.  The entire thing was just a nightmare I had, right?

I’m doing the same with the new head honchos for the Toronto Blue Jays.  This is their first off season to put the team together aka make their mark on the team for the 2017 season.  Everybody else, from what I can tell, most fans have up on them and called them stupid on National TV or radio.  At least give them some time before you judge them.

Trump on the other hand has already given us his view point on many things.  He gets 6 months to start acting like a leader, then I’ll judge him (& it will be an uphill battle in many people’s eyes).

Saturday we cleaned & Kim was doing laundry.  We had supper & a movie at my parent’s house.  My parent’s dog got her first haircut, all 3 pounds of her, she’s so small & isn’t afraid of anything!  Goose is hilarious, she doesn’t sound like a real dog when she growls she sounds more like a hungry gremlin.

Sunday I really slept in.  Kim woke me up close to 12:00 pm.  Kim made breakfast, eggs, bacon, tater tots, & coffee for us!  That was pleasant surprise.  I asked her “What did I do?”  She replied “You’re you.”  She’s so kind/loving/smart/funny/smoking HAWT/HOTT.

Brewster stayed in bed a little bit after I left the bedroom.  All of the playing with Goose last night must have tired him out.

The rest of the day looks like more cleaning, laundry, & just getting ready for the week.  Shortly after I posted on the blog Friday, we got a call & I’ll be in for some therapy on my leg this week!

Obama’s out going speech.  How do you go from Obama to the new guy?

No more Trump news until it changes stuff here in Canada, & it will eventually.

Myles Kennedy on the “Alter Bridge” song ‘Blackbird’

What he says about music meaning something to someone is exactly how hard core music buffs & musicians want everyone to feel about a piece of music.  Full disclosure, I was never the best song writer.  I was good enough to get by.  I made a point of not mentioning what a certain song was about on purpose.  It can mean whatever you need to feel at a certain time.

I was watching the “fake news”/CNN coverage of the inauguration & a song popped into my head, it’s metal but listen to the lyrics, in the chorus!

What good came out of Friday?  A 4th/new song off of the new Big Wreck album “Grace Street”

That’s 4 songs from a 13 song album with  preorder on iTunes.

What’s this?  It’s not on either album, unless it’s part of a (Deluxe Version)?  More investigating ASAP.  Ah, older song NOT on iTunes.

Ah, B.C. aka Before Cancer

By 2011 I was flat out depressed.  I was crying 20 times a day, I wanted to kill myself since I didn’t think I had anything to offer.  We’d go home for supper & I would ask Kim for a knife.  I was in a rough spot at the time.  I was being selfish, not thinking about anybody else.  I didn’t even want to talk to my doctor about it or anyone for that matter.  Kim wrote him a note that I dictated to her.  I felt like a BIG letdown to everyone.  My doctor actually apologized to me saying “I should have seen this coming” I told him that I was trying to keep it quiet.  I had been down in the dumps before, but nowhere near that much. I was first scheduled to see a psychologist but she couldn’t be there, she had left on maternity leave.  Instead I spoke with a social worker for two weeks.  Then I saw a psychiatrist once a week & now I’m on happy pills!

Bell, a satellite, phone & internet company are currently running a campaign for people struggling with depression.  Someone would like to talk or listen to you.  That’s what brought this on. I’m good now of course.  I was unable to find the phone number, but you can reach them on social media or on their website.  http://letstalk.bell.ca/en/

I encourage any & all people that are dealing with any type of mental illness to talk to someone & not hide it from others.  The longer you bottle it up, the worse it can get.  Talk to a friend, family member, or a complete stranger.  Whoever, just get that weight off your back & feel that sense of relief.  You’re not alone, 1/5 people deal with a mental illness.  Lots of people know how to deal with it.  Heck if you’re reading this & want to talk to me, don’t be afraid, I can shut up & listen even though I may not have the answers for you.  Please talk to someone, it’s not as hard as you think.

No I probably wasn’t in the same place you’re in, but I was in your neighborhood.  Send a personal message to this Facebook timeline if you want to keep it private or like I said just talk with someone, please?
