I exercised to “Audioslave” the S/T album, followed by “Halestorm” the album “Vicious”


Yep, back to exercises this week.  I actually lowered 3 totals to make sure I’m getting everything proper & the results I would like.

I had a temporary Physiotherapist, an older lady who was very nice.  She asked me if I was a body builder, I just laughed & replied “Hahahahaha, far from!”


2 things & walking isn’t one of them.  I do miss playing baseball but I quit after the season in 1997.  My arm was ready to fall off, playing 3rd base on 2 teams.  I got a call one night to play with the A level team, I was on the B level team.  I declined since I was a useless hitter & I had a team practice that night.  Company soft ball was fun though.

I don’t miss playing guitar & singing, sort of.  I don’t miss the 2:00 am nights on the weekends when I load up my car full with my amplifier & guitars, & then return home & unload it all in the wee hours of the morning.  If I was famous enough to have a roadie do the heavy lifting, I might feel differently about that.

I do miss sitting at home, singing & playing my acoustic guitar just for fun.  Kim even mentioned once that she missed me doing that around the house.

I know my Grandfather, on my mother’s side of the family, couldn’t understand why my brother & I were playing this type of music or what we got from making our music.  We didn’t play metal, but we listened to some of it.  I can’t do any type of metal scream, before cancer or now.  I never had a “desire” to do so.  There were so many other people that trained to do those type of vocals.  We played heavy rock music, but listened to more metal stuff.

Ideally I’d love to see Christian Bale reprise the role!  John Hamm would be a graceful transition from Ben Affleck.

No, I didn’t watch The Oscars.  I own “Black Panther” & “Bohemian Rhapsody” I just want to see “Blackkklans Man”.  “Green Book” won for best movie.  Never paid any attention to it.  People will say to me “Oh, you need to see it!”  What, will I die if I don’t see it?  That’s the only time I ‘need’ to see any movie.

This was funny in the 1990s when David Letterman caught wind of the gas station owner, Dick Assman, in Regina.  Now SGI won’t approve a novelty license plate that says ASSMAN on it?  Did everybody lose their sense of humour?  Would this be allowed in the USA?  The current President says things that are questionable at best.



4 guys based in L.A.  The drummer, Danny Carey, is a part of the Mensa organization.  Guitarist, Adam Jones, worked as a special effects worker for film & TV, he now does Tool’s album art & videos.  All I know about the bassist, Justin Chancellor, is that he is their 2nd bassist & I believe he’s English.  Singer, Maynard James Keenan, owns 3 or 4 dojos, has a black belt in a martial art, owns & operates a vineyard in Arizona, & sings for Tool, A Perfect Circle, & Puscifer.

They seem to enjoy teasing fans with false information about any release they may have coming.  They aren’t metal, rock or anything else.  I’d just call them a progressive music act.  The rhythms are tribal almost, REALLY good

Tool is not a band that you’d just tap your foot to.  Very minimal 4/4 time rhythm.  Maynard doesn’t scream, he will shout on key, & he is a very good singer, not showy but does what is needed for the song.  He prefers to think of his voice as another instrument in the band.

In their live concert set up, the drums & Maynard are in the back while the guitarist & bassist are near the front but on the sides of the stage.  The majority of their songs titles & lyrics are meant to be double – entendre.  Such as songs called “Prison Sex”, “Stinkfist”, “Aenima”, etc.  This is meant to provoke the listeners mind.

They’re quite private & very smart in not telling their fan base when an album will be released or anything more than fans need to know at the moment.  Their catalogue started with an EP & carries on from there….

I don’t do all of the workouts everyday. I pick 2 or 3 out & do them, 420 crunches, 20-30 minutes of yoga, 40 push ups, 40 leg lifts on my hands & knees or on my back, walking with my walker, up & down stairs, or the recumbent exercise bike.

“The Weeknd” & “Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats” were released, but only the first single from each album got me interested. I don’t buy just a song. Iron Maiden out on September 4th is what I’m waiting for.

I’m watching CNN this afternoon about the shooting. The news anchor asks “Why did this deranged person feel compelled to do this?” I have a different question “Why does he have a gun in the first place?” OH, right because it’s a right for every American to own a firearm. Those rights seem to be doing wonders in America. This happening on almost a weekly occasion. “Ah, there was another shooting in the USA! Oh well, I’m responsible with my firearm, nobody can take it away. Hey daughter/son let’s go to a movie, make sure to bring your gun then you’ll be safe”. At some point you would think any President would make a stand & do something about this. I expected something to happen a long time ago, but “Hey, what can you do? Crazy……….right?”. “Other Country’s are weird, they don’t have a gun on every citizen?”. You know what else we don’t have? Weekly public shootings!

DRILL THIS INTO YOUR HEAD USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not saying Canada or any other country is superior to the USA. Living in Canada I don’t need to think about where my firearm is, if I should ware any type of armor when I leave my house, or if I’ll be attacked in any way. I’m also not saying that every USA citizen is a gun lover, gun owner or that they’re all irresponsible with their fire arms. I’m saying that this type of thing happens far to often in the so called “Greatest Country on Earth”. For me, this not just a matter of sadness. It’s a matter of sadness, helplessness, redundancy, & now anger. WHY?

Yep, Foo Fighters played “Everlong” on Letterman last night, if you missed it here it is. I haven’t watched Letterman for well over a decade other than to see Foo Fighters on the show.

I’ve never heard a “Lamb of God” album that’s “schizophrenic”?

Some albums sound very similar throughout the album, that’s fine, I listen to that as well. If I were to make a chart it would do this..
I prefer diverse albums, those are what stick with me the most, like this stuff…

Songs I like. “Great Big Sea” released in 1996 &1997 their first two CDs which I bought when they were released. I saw them live twice, once on each tour. I don’t think I’ve listened to them since I graduated in June of ’98

A bit about how FANTASTIC my father is, 1-800-George! I was in Little League as a kid. My father coached my team for 1 or 2 years? Since nobody else would coach. He knew very little about the game. We won 1 game over the course of a season or 2. Didn’t matter to us much we had fun or at least I did. The most important thing was that we had fun, I got to hang out with my dad while playing my favourite sport. I didn’t/don’t care if we won or lost. It was just cool having my dad as my baseball coach. At practice, games, in the dugout, on our own time with dad hitting ground balls to me to work on my fielding in the back yard or at the park by my parents house! It was just AWESOME!

I grew up on his music & now he’s a fan of Foo Fighters because of my brother & I. Dire Straits, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, etc. Might not be on my radar without him. My dad is just flat out AWESOME! He’s “My Hero”

Yep it’s been a “Halestorm” of a week for me since Tuesday. Home stereo & iPod. I still listen to Foo Fighters once a day & Big Wreck about 3 times a week. Last night I was listening to “Halestorm” finished the album & wanted to hear ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” album. I fall asleep to my iPod.

I really like ‘Conan’ I record his show, Jimmy Fallon & Ellen Degeneres everyday! Kim’s at work so I record it at 2:00pm so we can watch it together! This is one of the funniest bits I’ve seen.

I’m not a huge fan of ‘The Rolling Stones” but they do have quite a few catchy songs. I’ve got a greatest hits album, that’s all I need or I add a song to it on iTunes if I think of one.

Songs I like. I have “The Devin Townsend Project”, “Def Leppard” and others I like but I’d just be choosing random songs. I don’t know the titles for the majority of these groups. “Disturbed” something I listen to maybe once a year. I bought 2 albums & borrowed 3 from a friend. WARNING POSSIBLY LANGUAGE INVOLVED???

I got up at 5:30am. I watched Jimmy Fallon & Conan after I had my breakfast, started the dishwasher, Kim then left for work, did my exercise, came in here & started writing a post for the blog. I got up since I had to pee I figured I might as well get up.

There is no longer a big 4 of metal groups, always mentioned as the big 4. It is now the big 5. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, & now Lamb of God! Just ask Slash.

Nobody really knows of Lamb of God, probably because it’s a small niche market unlike country music, which is a HUGE niche market at the moment & iTunes now, cheap/free music. I don’t like their first self titled album “Burn the Priest” they changed their name to Lamb of God afterwards. I have all 6 of their CDs as well as their 3 CD anthology. I believe they’re in the studio recording their 8th studio album. They aren’t rich & live in mansions. I believe the majority of their sales are from iTunes? They have toured all over the globe as headliners & opened for Metallica, Slayer & they’ve been a part of Gigantour put on by Megadeth. Regular guys from Richmond, Virginia who have sold millions of albums though on iTunes.

Vinyl records? I don’t have room for them & they skip or get scratched. Just like the pile of CDs in our closet? If I have to purchase vinyl I’ll rip them to iTunes, put them on my iPod & throw them away!

I do love this song though. I have the actual album it’s on & a 70’s compilation it’s on. On iTunes & my iPod

Bad news fatal car crash

I wonder why I don’t watch the news more than once a week? Probably because it’s usually full of bad news! I watched the CTV Regina news last night at 6:00pm & it sucked BIG time! The entire hour was full of road accidents, people dying, wars where ever, & other depressing stuff. For me I like to be informed with what’s happening in town. It’s full of bad news nothing good! How about a babies were born today, puppies & kittens were born today, some good news for a change! For me ignorance is bliss! If I want to hear or see that someone died or anything like that I’ll find a TV show or a movie to watch! The news is not for me.

Songs/Videos I like. I’m not a huge Aerosmith fan but they do have a bundle of great songs.
