I fell asleep to “Nothing but Thieves” the 2nd album “Broken Machine.” Kim even likes some of their stuff! We were in the car the other day & she says “Hey play that ‘Sorry’ song”
I exercised to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Villains”
You’re probably tired of hearing people talk about the mass shooting in Vegas last weekend. Howie Mandel was a guest on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday. They both talked about many issues in the world, saying that we all need to respect & help each other, not just in the face of tragedy, but as much as possible, which makes a whole lot of sense when you think about it. Be proactive instead of being reactive. Look at what has happened in the last 2 weeks! 3 terrible hurricanes & a mass shooting. Yes, we were reactive & donated to the Red Cross. Kim donated through work, they will match every dollar by 50 cents. Got me thinking if I could, I’d always think of donating blood like I used to. Now, after cancer I’m not allowed to donate blood or donate my organs.
I always say to myself “Hope for the best & prepare for the worst!” Somewhere along the way I forgot that. The hurricanes & mass shooting were/are HUGE catastrophes that most people wouldn’t expect or necessarily think of. That’s sort of a good thing. You don’t want to live your life in fear! Howie Mandel spoke very well as a guest discussing the shooting. To sum it up he basically said ‘We need to stop talking about gun control & maybe focus on mental health issues more.’ If you like to go hunting, I’m OK with that, as long as you’re not hunting humans or domestic animals. We have guns in Canada, few people use them to kill others though. Canada’s not perfect, however there’s not a breaking news story every week on TV.
What Howie Mandel said was needed, it’s time to change our perspective on these mass shootings. We all keep barking up the same tree, & we always get the same answer, & it’s not helping to solve the problem.
I found it! Here’s Howie Mandel’s view on these mass shootings

Last night was our “niece’s” 4th birthday good times had by all! BBQ ribs & chicken wings, fruit tray, veggie tray, pierogi’s, etc. Then dessert ice cream & fancy toppings. After the baking on the weekend & ice cream last night, I should be good for my sugar intake for a while, & here comes Canadian Thanksgiving!
THAT’S ALL FOR WHAT’S ON MY MIND & CANCER TALK! HERE COMES THE POPCULTURE STUFF!
The more I listen to the Foo Fighters “Concrete & Gold” album, the more I like it. I just don’t care for the last song on it, “Concrete & Gold” the rest is quite good!
“Royal Blood” is not a metal band! They’re a rock act made of 2 guys from England. A bassist who sings, & a drummer who I assume sings background vocals. I got to see them open for Foo Fighters in 2015 in Calgary for the “Sonic Highways” tour. This album cycle they are opening for “Queens of the Stone Age”.
Before seeing them open for Foo Fighters, I never thought I’d get to see them live. I’m so glad I did. They released their 2nd album earlier this year. Titled “How did we get so dark?” The first album I really like, & the 2nd album keeps the train moving in the right direction! I still think this first video from the new album is really cool!
There’s 3 of the 10 songs from the new album. Here’s a couple from the first album.
LANGUAGE I DON’T HEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going about my day on Monday as usual. Then I caught my eye on the news of Tom Petty passing away at a young age of 66. First the mass shooting in Vegas & now this. Trying to think of which Tom Petty song is my favourite. I couldn’t choose one, they’re all AWESOME!
This all came out of nowhere for me. Here’s Rolling Stone with Tom Petty’s top 10 live songs.
