5 day weekly total; 400 pushups, 240 tricep pushups, 100 back flexes, 600 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 360 squats.  Totally forgot about walking.  Just not part of our routine yet.

I fell asleep to “Halestorm” the album “Vicious”

I exercised to “Chromeo” the album “Head Over Heels”

I had breakfast listening to “The Struts” the album “Everybody Wants”

Post this then hit the shower!

I found out earlier this week that I wasn’t doing my pushups properly.  I guess my hands should be closer together & I need to keep my elbows very close to my body.  I tried it & it’s much more difficult than having your elbows out when you go low.  I can’t do 200 pushups a day like that.  I alternate with each set of 25 pushups & stop at 200.  I figure my old way is still somewhat beneficial?  I will eventually get to 200 pushups done properly.

I really don’t look forward to the days that I do arms & back exercises.  They’re more difficult, take longer, & I just want to be lazy.  Somedays, when I’m done them, I just sit, relax & turn on the TV.

I had a doctor appointment yesterday.  Nothing to worry about, I just needed refills.  My doctor also brought up the surgeon who will be doing my back surgery.  We haven’t heard from him at all.  Hopefully they’ll get in touch?  If all goes according to plan, maybe I can ramp up the crunches a bit more after it’s healed.  I was doing 1,500 a day before, 500 should be more than enough 2 or 3 times a week?

Yes, we bought “Deadpool 2” on Tuesday when it was released.  I’m sure I’ll watch it multiple times, much like the first movie!  As well as “Avengers: Infinity War”.  I’m still not done with “Justice League” either.  Odd thing is that I wasn’t a comic book enthusiast as a kid.  I had a few comic books & I collected many trading cards, since there was a place I could ride my bike to, I just never caught the bug for it?  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Album & concert video to be released on September 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never really watched the “X-Men” series though.  Never really ever heard much about that series, outta site outta mind I guess.

Mark David Chapman’s still in jail.  That’s what happens when you murder someone.

JAMIROQUAI

I really don’t even know if that’s the band name or the singer’s stage name.  None of that really matters if you enjoy the music.  It is dance music, not techno, but it is dance music from the ‘90s.  I originally just had the album “Travelling Without Moving” because of the cool video on Much Music for the song “Virtual Insanity”.

When I started purchasing music on iTunes, I found the entire catalogue of music & picked the songs that I liked.  I still have the one CD, but ended up putting most of it on my greatest hits album I made.  I can’t give you years of release or anything like that, so here’s a sample of what I put on the one album…

I fell asleep to “Myles Kennedy” the album “Year of the Tiger”.

I exercised to “Chromeo” 2 albums on shuffle.

No new wheelchair yet!

Yep, I have little moments of anxiety.  I really don’t like meeting new people while I’m in this wheelchair with an iPatch.  On the flip side of this I’m not even 40 yet, so I’m way too young to not meet new people.  What causes my anxiety?  I couldn’t tell you, because I have no idea?  I know that nobody stares at me in public or anywhere else.

Lately I just always feel as though I don’t fit in, which is a double edged sword for me.  I don’t want to be like anyone else, but I also want to feel accepted (which I know I am).  It’s all in my head.

It’s me thinking “I’m here, now what can I do to speed up my recovery?  I’m not at the point that I can move on, so what do I do now?  This exercising is getting redundant, not easy but redundant.”  Sure I mix up my exercises daily, but that’s not enough.  I need a break, but I don’t like having an extended break.  If it’s a break that’s 5 or more days, it makes my exercises more difficult when I start again.  That being said 5 days is not a long enough break.

I could be that we had multiple visitors last week, & that was a welcome change of pace but now it’s back to the regular routine again?  Whatever it is, it’s in my head.  NOBODY has done anything to cause this, it’s just me in a slump.

I’ll likely get some hate from this but this is my view on millennials, as an outsider.

The average age for a kid to get a cell phone is 6 years old, WHY?  I’m 38 & I don’t need a cell phone.  I had a cell phone before I had cancer, it certainly didn’t save my life, & I don’t miss it at all.  If I had a kid that wanted a cell phone, they would be more than welcome to get one, with some rules in place.  Rule number 1, get a job & buy your own phone, rule 2, when the kid comes home from school, the phone goes away until the homework is done & supper is cleaned up.  Until that’s finished, no phone.  Final rule, if the kid’s in a room with other people, the phone disappears.  I’m 38 & a cell phone for myself would feel like a HUGE waste of money.  Did your parents take a phone call when someone was over?  I always heard “Can I call you back later?  We have company over right now.”  Why does that not apply to today’s world?  Texting is the same if you ask me.  Relax the text will be there still, try some etiquette?   That’s just me though & my opinion.

As for streaming music, I get the appeal, it’s out there & legal.  My iPod, 160 gig classic still works, but it does not work for streaming music.  In this case I’m either going to pay hundreds of dollars for an iPhone or iPod touch or roughly $200 for a decent vinyl player & a vinyl collection?  I’m leaning heavily towards vinyl & when my iPod dies there will be no replacement for it.  Napster was free when it first appeared & I like iTunes.  That album you’ve been streaming for a year now has cost you $120 since last year when you got it.  I paid $9.99 once & I haven’t paid to hear it again.  For me streaming music is a wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing.  I’d much rather pay once & own it.

Do you really think musicians will go along with streaming music where they can make $0.05 per stream?  Musicians prior to this streaming fad were loaded with cash, but now musicians are basically working for free.  Remember that this is my opinion & you have every right to your opinion.

Well millennials are taking away my option to buy cheap music.  They’re convinced streaming music is a better option?  I guess anyone using a streaming music site doesn’t want to OWN their music.  “Thank you” millennials for ruining a good idea.  Apple could easily keep the iTunes option if they’re still offering the streaming/Apple Music service.  Same technology I assume?

Just let it play multiple videos regarding millennials in the work place!

This is another stereotype that has exceptions, like all stereotypes.

This won’t happen.  Tuition is not free, most of us have had to pay tuition!  I hope she’s not taking economics!

I didn’t search this subject on www.youtube.com this is just what was on there!

I was always told if you want something you have to work for it.  I was born in 1980 & my brother was born in 1987.  He was told the same as I was.  He’s not a stereotypical millennial.  I’ve never considered my younger cousins a stereotypical millennials either.  I’m the oldest cousin on my dad’s side of the family & among the 4 oldest on my mother’s side.  I don’t think it’s the kids fault?  As a parent maybe treat your kids the same way you were raised?  I’m not a parent for that reason.  I don’t think I have it in me to be a responsible parent & raise a responsible child.  I’m not saying the people I know aren’t responsible or that I’m forcing any type of parenting skills on anyone.  This is how I would raise my child if I had one.

OASIS (SORT OF)

My father & I went to see Queens of the Stone Age in Calgary during the spring, I think it was near the end of May?  Royal Blood was the opener.  Before the concert started there were people sitting to my left having a discussion.  I couldn’t see them since my iPatch is on my left eye, anything to the left of me is totally out of my vision.  I don’t know if they were brother & sister, dating or married, or friends that came to see Queens of the Stone Age.  They were speaking loudly so I heard everything they were saying, & they had thick British accents.  They were talking about Oasis & Noel Gallagher.  The male had absolutely no clue who Oasis was?  The female was explaining everything she could about them to the guy.  How does someone come from the same country as one of the biggest rock bands of the ‘90s & not have a clue who Oasis is, or their guitar player & songwriter?  It’s really not that big of a deal, I was completely flabbergasted!  Whoever the girl was knew everything though.  Oasis is probably as well known in England as The Tragically Hip is in Canada.  Not everyone will be a HUGE fan but most people know who they are.  She explained everything to him, & they sounded as though they were the same age.  It just baffled me that they both knew who Queens of the Stone Age were but not Oasis, weird?  Maybe I just have too much useless music trivia in my head, it’s genetic!  My brother & I got it from mostly dad, but both parents.  I only have 3 “Oasis” albums & 2 “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds” albums.

I found out about Queens of the Stone Age via Nirvana.  Dave Grohl was Nirvana’s drummer, then singer for Foo Fighters, then played drums on 2 complete albums for Queens of the Stone Age.  Oasis’ big album in 1995 was also the year Foo Fighters released their debut album.

I fell asleep to “The Struts” the album “Everybody Wants”

I exercised to “I Mother Earth” the album “The Quicksilver Meat Dream”

Monday we had an appointment to check out my wheelchair options.  I get $1000 for life on a wheelchair & likely going to cost $6500, were in debt already might as well go deeper.  4 day weekly exercise total; 400 pushups, 400 leg lifts, 200 crunches, 300 tricep pushups, 80 back flexes, 240 squats.  Remember I’m alternating days.  I do 3 exercises one day, then the other 3 the next day.

My back & arm exercises take much more time than my abs & leg exercises.  I like not having to exercise for 2 or 2.5 hours.  I hope this is beneficial in the end.

I’m still not sure which wheelchair I’ll be getting?  I hope to have one ordered between 12:00 – 1:00 on Kim’s lunch break.  Kim was emailing with someone at the place they manufacture the lighter one & was told they could make it with the one change I’d like.  If the salesman in town can get a hold of someone there, I’ll get the 12 pound chair.  If not it will be the 22 pound chair.  So I’ll find out later today.  For me, it wouldn’t really make much of a difference.  The lighter wheelchair will be easier on other people’s back lifting it into a vehicle.  For me both chairs are MUCH easier to move around in, they seem to glide easier with little effort if that makes sense.  The issue is the foot rest.  I use my feet a lot in the house, but if were out shopping or something my legs get tired from lifting my feet off the ground.  I’d like to have that option in the lighter chair.  It normally comes with the foot rest as a structural need, but they do make a chair where the foot rest can be lifted to the side & out of my way.  I would like that option!

I talked with Kim & it looks like next week will be 5 days of cardio.  I find no joy in practicing walking with my walker, but it’s a necessary evil I guess.  BOOOOO!!!!

CHROMEO

2 guys out of Québec, Canada.  They have released 6 albums since their debut in 2004.  This pop music HIGH on the sugar side.  I bought their last 2 albums of the 6 available.  The earlier albums just didn’t sit well with me.  No I’m not all metal & rock.  I think it was Alice Cooper that said something to this effect “I can’t have someone yelling at me all of the time!”  I’m rather passionate about all of my music but even I need a break from someone yelling at me all of the time.  Chromeo is the complete opposite of heavy music….

2014      WHITE WOMEN

2018    HEAD OVER HEELS

The new “Halestorm” album “Vicious” is out today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next Friday, “Into Eternity” album “The Sirens” will be out on www.bandcamp.com for $15 or email them intoeternityCD@gmail.com if you’d like an actual CD for $20 + shipping.  This is an independent release, all proceeds go directly to the band.

I don’t like bashing any band, however when I saw this band playing at half-time in Hamilton, initially the lead singer looked as though she had better things to do aka she seemed very distant from the situation.  I’ve watched it a few times & it debunks my initial reaction a bit, but not enough.  As for the music, I’m good with it, but it’s probably not something I’d listen to multiple times.

After listening to the new Metallica album & reading many reviews, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is a gateway album to the rest of their catalogue!  It’s really good!

I fell asleep to “Dead Sara” the EP “Temporary Things Taking up Space”

I exercised to “Chromeo” new album “Head Over Heels”

A nice break this week from baseball.  The All-Star Game & Home run challenge are this week & I’m not 12 years old anymore aka I have no desire to watch any of it.

Question for non-baseball fans.  Baseball games are usually around 3 hours long, if they were 10 minutes shorter, would you then consider watching a game?  I wouldn’t but the league is coming up with new rules to speed up the pace of the game.  I’m pretty sure that won’t increase any fan base?

Anyways, I’ve changed my workout routine to abs & legs one day, then arms & back the next day.  3 exercises each day but all different muscle groups.  Less stress on my body in one day, hopefully less is more in this case?  It’s recommended by many.  If it works great!  If it doesn’t, then it’s back to the old routine, 6 exercises a day.

I don’t know how I got to 240 pushups a day?  I can only manage 120 right now.  I might revert to 100 & build up from there, next week?

BLUE RODEO

I love ‘em!  Great mix of country & rock.  I only have their “Greatest Hits”.  I had one other on CD that is long gone for some reason?  I don’t know a lot about them.  I know Chris Messer is or was a big fan.  Kim & I saw them once in Regina!  Great show, I’m just not a HUGE fan.  I believe the group is made up of 5 guys based in Toronto, Ontario.  I’m not really a country fan, but this group works fine for me….

I heard Chris Messer sing/play the song “Try” & asked myself “When did Jim Cuddy get here?”  Spot on and FANTASTIC!

OH, google!  Hahahahaha!

I fell asleep to “Dead Sara” all of their stuff this is from the EP “Temporary Things Taking up Space” very political & full of LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I exercised to “MUSE” the album “Black Holes & Revelations”

4 day exercise total; 0 pushups, 400 crunches, 800 leg lifts, 480 tricep pushups, 400 squats, 160 back flexes.

I’m not sure why, but this 4 day week felt more like more of a 10 day week.  I woke up Monday & had no energy whatsoever.  That was par for the course each morning.  My sprained figure is feeling close to normal.  I avoided pushups to be safe though.  I didn’t want another setback.

Maybe I was just really looking forward to having 4 days off.  Kim & I are “a lot” alike that way.  We can be very focused on the task at hand & totally forget to stop & smell the “roses”.

I’ve been really tired all week.  I don’t like that, it just makes everything more difficult.  Imagine how hard throwing in my pushups will feel?  I’ll have to build them up again to 240/day.

Donnie goes on a twitter rant regarding late night talk show hosts & here is their hilarious reply!

Yep, everybody’s laughing, because it is looking like Trump vs. The World.  There’s only 1 shithole, it’s the White House.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trump’s not making America great for everyone.  He’s making it great for him & also making it very lonely.  Canada always helps the USA during a disaster, if I were Prime Minister of Canada that would stop ASAP.  “What Donnie?  You want our help?  You’ve made it clear you don’t need our help!”

New Paramore video from the album “After Laughter”

This is one of the reasons I avoid streaming music sites!  The other is that it’s more like paying rent other than a mortgage.  When you’re done paying a mortgage, you own that property.  You never stop paying rent, unless you decide to move to a house!  If you have children I get it, it’s cheaper you need money to raise kids.

http://loudwire.com/how-much-money-musicians-make-year/

I can almost guarantee that I’ll never see “MUSE” or “Nothing but Thieves” live.  “MUSE” is HUGE & “Nothing but Thieves” stay close to home in the U.K.

“OH MY GOODNESS!!!  THEY SOUND LIKE LED ZEPPELIN!  NO, NO, NO!”  Get over it internet peeps.

Noel Gallagher’s thoughts on streaming sites.

CHROMEO “HEAD OVER HEELS”

The most sugary pop I have ever heard!  I have their 2 most recent albums out of 5 studio albums.  They’re also a Canadian pop duo of 2 guys from Montreal.  If you’re going to do pop/dance music, you might as well go in deep feet first & make it really good, they do.  I’ve got the “White Women” album & this album was released on June 15th.  I’ll give you one single from the previous album, then a few from “Head Over Heels”.

Now the newest album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Kim took Brewster for the weekend to see her parents.  I had all of this stuff on the weekend to do booked a long time ago.  Kim & Brewster are back now.

Music throughout the weekend.  “Metallica”, “Chromeo”, “Tremonti”, “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds”, “Dead Sara”, & “Devin Townsend Project”

I went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders game Friday evening with my parents as usual.  First game of the regular season & we won 27-19.  I refuse to consume alcohol at the games.  $9 for one generic Pilsner.  If you double that, I can buy a case of 15 beers for $18.  I guess my pop was $6 though.

I forgot to bring my sugarless gum which keeps my mouth moist throughout the game.  One piece of it will conquer my dry mouth for an entire game & no need to rush off to the washroom either, it stays tasty too.

Saturday evening dad, his friend Dale & I went to a rum & bourbon tasting at Willow Park.  Very informative & a good intro to bourbon.  3 different types of rum & 3 types of bourbon.  ½ ounce of each & the table was set for everyone.  We also had some bread & a bottle of water to cleanse our palate between each taste.

After the tasting, each person gets a small discount, 10% I think?  I got a 26 ounce bottle of one of the rums & 12 Samuel Adams beer brewed in Boston.  I love rum & I’ve developed a taste for bourbon now, although I have yet to purchase bourbon.

Father’s Day!  My mom isn’t feeling great, I stayed home.  Kim came home & picked me up as I wanted to give my dad a mixed 6 pack of beer & I needed 1 other 6 pack to give him something different from what I had.  Delivered dad’s gift & picked up my pill refills.

BOSTON

I only have their self-titled album.  8 songs & they’re all really good!  You’ll likely know the first track.  The rest are FANTASTIC!  I wish somebody had told me how good this album is years ago!

I may have to look into getting a few more ‘Boston’ albums.

So……….Trump’s plan to “Make America Great Again” is basically bullying other countries?  I think it’s time to stop calling it the “G6 + 1 summit” to just the “G6 summit”.  He’s already taken America out of many other international agreements.  I say kick him to the curb and Canada should take a stab at being a neutral country!  Wait………Trudeau might have to think.  A pretty face like that shouldn’t have to think!

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “There is Nothing Left to Lose”

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekly exercise total; 240 pushups, 1000 leg lifts, 500 crunches, 500 squats,  600 tricep pushups, & 200 back flexes.

Stupid bruise on my left palm & knuckle on my left ring finger has left me the inability to use nothing more than my index finger & my thumb on my left hand.  Any pressure on my palm or fingers & I scream in pain.  It’s better as of Wednesday, but still tender.  The swelling & bruises are subsiding.  I’m able to use my index, middle finger & my thumb now.

I do these exercises 5 days a week.  I don’t look like someone who does 240 pushups a day, at all.  One day maybe?  These exercises are, to me, a wait & see situation.

My core muscles are strong from the planking & 1500 crunches I was doing each day.  I now stick to 100 a day.  My disc in my spine stuck out severely & I couldn’t move.  I’d bump that up gradually to 1000.  I haven’t heard a peep about going for even a consult regarding back surgery?  I don’t think the surgeon would do the surgery unless he has the X-ray from last year or if it pops out again?

WALK OFF THE EARTH

Another Canadian band based in Burlington, Ontario.  5 members in the group.  4 males & 1 female who has had 2 kids in the last 5 years.  Their music seems to divide people lots of people seem to hate it or love it, I obviously love it.  They have 4 or 5 albums & a TON of singles that are mostly cover songs as well as 2 or 3 EPs.  I have 3 of their albums, 2 EPs, & a TON of singles as one album…

SINGLES

The new “Chromeo” album “Head Over Heels” is out in full today.  The most sugary pop out there!

Don’t mess with Trivium!  My worst to first list is below.

http://loudwire.com/trivium-albums-ranked/

“The Crusade”, “Ember to Inferno”, “Shogun”, “Vengeance Falls”, “The Sin & the Sentence”, “In Waves”, “Silence in the Snow”, & “Ascendancy”

After “Ember to Inferno” it gets really hard for me to choose.

Can anybody explain to me what made the “Justice League” so bad?  I love that movie!

I still haven’t seen “Avengers: Infinity War”.  I fully intend to though!

15 things you didn’t know about the late Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley.
