I fell asleep to “Our Lady Peace” the album “Somethingness”, followed by “Metallica” the album “Load”

I forgot to charge the remote for the stereo last night.  I exercised in silence.

Weekly total, 4 day total; 800 pushups, 560 leg lifts, 400 crunches, 240 squats, 240 tricep pushups, & 160 back flexes.

I was sick Sunday night until 4:00 am or so.  Kim braved the storm for me to get some medicine.  I was fine on Monday, just really tired.  Waste of a day!

Tuesday, I was fine & got my exercises done ASAP as usual, had my typical breakfast of a hardboiled egg, veggie juice, rice cake, black coffee, & about a liter of water.  That’s breakfast for me 5 days a week.  Then I continue to drink at least 2.8 liters of water every day.  Yesterday I had just over 4 liters of water.  No wonder I pee so often?

Nobody just wakes up & decides “I think today I’ll do 200 pushups!”  It’s a slow building process.  I started off doing 30 pushups on my knees.  One day I said to myself “Let’s see if I can figure out how to do them on my feet, with my toes so curled that I can’t bend them?”  I can’t even curl my toes with my hands, so when I do pushups, it’s also a matter of balancing on my feet.  At first it was near impossible.  Now it has just become routine.

All of this exercise I’m doing is so that I can one day walk.  Remember, I’ve got the time to do this.  You likely have other priorities, kids, work, etc.  Exercising is my job, which I don’t get paid for!  Other than disability pay & insurance.

When I find something that I’m doing is up to my standards, I increase the number slowly.  Like adding 5 whatever to a set.  EVERYTHING started at a low level & slowly increased.  Nothing ever started at 8 repetitions of 25, I had to build up to that number.

I went into the hospital at 265, ate crap, gained 8” on my waist, now as of Tuesday I’m 220lbs.  Anything lower than 210 or 215 would make me look like a bag of bones!

I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I have to adapt to regular life.  Baseball is more of a mental sport where you have to think about what is going to happen & what does each player need to do.  I played third base commonly called “The Hot Corner” so I would think & then react quickly if the ball was hit in my direction.  So in that way baseball taught me how to think & adapt when needed.  I had a roughly 90’ between myself & the batter.  I didn’t know if it would be hit to me or how hard the batter would hit it?  Just react & adapt.

I was slowly getting into “grunge” music, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, etc.  I went out & bought Foo Fighters’ 2nd album “The Colour & The Shape”.  I was hooked.  This was in 1998, the album actually came out in May of 1997.  They released their 3rd album in November of 1999, my Grandmother died of breast cancer on December 5th of that year.  Instead of writing a final exam in University, I would drive to Moose Jaw (45 minutes away) & back, blasting the album “There is Nothing Left to Lose”.  That’s when they became one of my 2 favourite bands.  I listened to that album twice a day (if not more) front to back.  From then on I’ve purchased all of their albums on release day.  Of course I went back after buying the 2nd album & bought the first album ASAP.  From that point on it was “What else is out there that I need to hear?”  So here’s one song from each album of Foo Fighters, in order of release….

A HILARIOUS voice of a generation!

Well here’s a bunch of “Tool” news if you choose to believe it?

Stone Temple Pilots news regarding a new song & the link to Chester Bennington of “Linkin Park”

I don’t know who still follows “Our Lady Peace” but they have a new album out right now.  Ben Harper will also be releasing a new album on March 30th.

Yes, I got the “Our Lady Peace” album last night.

New “A Perfect Circle” video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you!

Why did this become a music blog?  “Because music is a BIG @#!$%^*&( DEAL”-Dave Grohl

“I feel good about the good things, & bad about the bad things”-Dave Grohl

“Learn from your mistakes & don’t repeat them”-Chris

Stay safe out there,

“Be kind to one another”-Ellen Degeneres

P.S.  No, we don’t have any plans.

Give the site a minute or 2 to load all of the links & everything should be fine.

Hard rock fans, buy this “Red Dragon” album by Room 333, which is compared to “La Gargola” by Chevelle! https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/red-dragon/id917967693

I won’t be online much, if at all, on Friday or Saturday! Family coming to town & Kim has an E.D.O.

Ryan Adams covers Bryan Adams

Halestorm channel their inner Pink Floyd

“Lamb of God” on instagram

Finger Eleven has some tour dates set. No release date yet?!

Axl Rose is complaining as usual. That’s par for the course!

Baltimore riots on CNN. The world just gets weirder & weirder…………….

Connie Kaldor at The Exchange in Regina. Almost all of the Chemical Horizon, the band I was in until I got cancer, shows were at The Exchange. A couple of shows were at The Gaslight & The Distrikt. The Distrikt for me was pretty much the same for me as playing at Wembley Stadium for Dave Grohl. I saw so many great bands there! That was probably the most nerve racking experience for me on stage. A “Don’t screw this up” experience. There aren’t many places in Regina for original rock/metal bands to play. The Exchange, The Distrikt (which is no more), The Gaslight & occasionally The Riddel Center at the university. I guess we also played once at The Owl, the university bar, in a battle of the bands thing.

My Morning Jacket on Tuesday!

“Big Wreck” asks “What is your favourite memory from a Big Wreck show?”
Too many good ones for me!

Muse on June 9th

Parahoy! With Paramore.

Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver/Guns n’ Roses) to release solo EP with famous friends filling out the band.

Rock Stars being AWESOME rock stars shaming, kicking out moron fans WARNING!!!! LANGUAGE!! & LOTS OF IT!!!!!

Chester Bennington (Linkin Park singer) on writing/singing with Stone Temple Pilots. I’m waiting for this album to be released this year also. I heard earlier this year they were close to being done recording the album.

Walk off the Earth cover “I Got You Babe”

I enjoy ‘Slayer’. I’d probably listen to more ‘Slayer’ if Kerry King guitar solo’s were in the right key of the rest of the group.

I’ve never heard of “Tame Impala”? Probably because they’re new, put their music on the internet for pennies & don’t tour the entire world.

New artist. I believe he was on The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier this week & I just watched him on last night Conan! Good voice with nothing but an acoustic guitar. I’d likely buy his album & rarely listen to it.

Article with Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day

Cool to see 3 young girls play an Ozzy song on The Ellen Degeneres Show. Much better guitar player than I was or will be.

Megadeth’s new album pre-order teaser

This is very cool on The Ellen Degeneres Show as well

Seems as though U2 can’t catch a break?

Speaking of U2 here’s an article with Bono

Terrible version of “Vasoline” by Scott Weiland. Yeah the same guy that sang/wrote the song with Stone Temple Pilots. Is he drunk or high or both?

I have an issue on the use of cell phones. When you see a “fail” video on youtube that’s fine, it’s hilarious. In a real life or death situation most people whip out their phone to get it on video? Who the heck stands there taking a video with a cell phone while someone might be dying? Maybe put the phone down & see if you can help? Remember, it’s a phone as well, not just a video camera.

A cover of Foo Fighters’ “Congregation” pretty good too!

A few rock bands I’ve never heard of, on a luxury cruise ship, with 3400 rock fans

Alice Cooper interview/article

Yes this was just weird. A regular season baseball game in Baltimore vs the Chicago White Sox, in a totally empty ball park, attendance 0, nobody! Wasn’t a safe place because of the rioting in Baltimore.

Is this “The Beginning of the End”

Songs I like. “Eric Clapton”
