Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

What I’ve been listening to lately, “The Darkness”, “Coheed and Cambria”, “I Built the Sky”, & “Alter Bridge”.

Where ever the picture ends up on here, that’s a portion of my Tuesday & Thursday exercise.  I don’t own a cell phone but Kim does.  She wants to do yoga with me when she gets home from work & took a few pictures that evening.

I ended up doing a lot of nothing from Friday, November 15th to Sunday, November 24th.  Started up the exercise again on the 25th.  Kim decided she’d like to do yoga with me on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  So I do some stretching & weights in the morning, then yoga when she gets home after work.

So far my eating habits have remained quite similar.  I know I’ll partake in some taste testing of holiday baked goods though, then perhaps during my big 4-0 in January.

Gotta get to the weights!  My T-Shirts are pretty much hanging on to me for dear life.  Other than the occasional light eggnog in a coffee, I’m still running sugar free, outside of natural sugar.

I’m not going to avoid holiday baking, just in moderation.

I intended to ask for a few things for Christmas & let Kim bank any extra cash for herself or whatever expenses we need it for.  Nobody was OK with what I was going to do with the cash, including Kim.  She insisted I save it for the guitar I want.  So I guess I’ll be ordering this guitar in the summer, in a McCarty Sunburst finish.  We’ve got to save up some cash until then.

https://www.prsguitars.com/index.php/electrics/model/s2_custom_22_semi_hollow_2020

As for the Epiphone 7 string, I’ll think about that in 8 years if I’m still into metal, although it does look pretty nice!  I was going to get this one since it’s a limited edition, Kim said to order the more expensive one though?  If I ever get a 7 string guitar, I hope these are still in production?

http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Les-Paul/Matt-Heafy-Les-Paul-Custom-7.aspx

I have been practicing my guitar constantly.  Mostly finger exercises to build up the strength in my left hand.  Usually 4-9 hours a week.  I was a singer that learned rhythm guitar to fill out a rock band.  Playing fast or soloing was never my thing & was beyond my ability.  Since my voice hasn’t caught up yet, I’m learning a bunch of new stuff to become a more versatile guitar player. I played my guitar “…until my fingers (almost) blead…” the last week and a bit.

The Christmas tree has been up since November 16th, little early for me but it had to go up sometime.  Now we can get some gift shopping done for what I will now call “The most (stressful) time of the year”.  I need lists people, I can’t read your minds?!

I’m usually really into the holiday season, no snow here yet, I need snow.  It was raining on November 24th, my parents’ 41st anniversary & Grey Cup 107.  There should be snow on the ground by now not “November Rain”.

Brewster’s feeling better now & done with his medications.  He even has enough energy to play for a bit twice a day.  He’s now back to day care once a week to play with other dogs.  He still gets very excited when he figures out where he’s going & can’t get in there fast enough.

Kim’s quite busy at work & is pretty tired after each day.  I think her entire department told their manager they need another person on staff?

After a week of not exercising & a week of exercising, I find that exercising makes me more aware around here.  I find that I manage my time better.  I also get up earlier to accomplish my exercise & other tasks for the day.  I got up at 6:30 am.  I fed Brewster, had my small breakfast (I eat 5 or 6 small meals/snacks a day), cleaned up Brewster’s bowl, & exercised.  It was only 9:30 am after all of that!  I checked my email & Facebook, had a bite to eat, showered, & had an early lunch around 11:30 am.  Spent the rest of the day practicing guitar for a few hours & watched some recorded TV.

I don’t typically post videos or photos on anything.  I don’t own a cell phone but my wife does.  I’m usually at home with no need or desire for a cell phone & if I’m elsewhere, I’m busy usually with someone else who likely has a cell phone.  An email or a Facebook message/notification will be there when I get home.  I’ve tried texting & I just don’t like it.  I find texting to be the lazy way of calling someone.  It’s easier to dial a number rather than type out a conversation on a tiny keyboard.  Cell phones & I aren’t friends.  They’re just not for me.

That being said, my speech isn’t great.  I’m hard to understand.  I feel like I have to exaggerate my lip movement to speak well & I ALWAYS forget that.  I’m also very quiet when I speak.  Since cancer I have very short breath support.  It’s gotten better, but at first my sentences were very broken in odd/random places.

Out to visit my uncle in Sask. Beach this week for lunch & a few games of cribbage with my parents.  Nice going out there, seeing someone I haven’t seen in a while in a very wheelchair accessible place (he’s in a wheelchair also & Kim hates cribbage).

Thursday evening we went to see our “niece’s” Christmas school musical.  I don’t even remember the entire “12 days of Christmas” & I just saw it?!  Great to hear kids singing this time of year.  I’m surprised the school got away with calling it a “Christmas” event what with everything having to be so politically correct!  I’m good either way, I know what I’m celebrating.  If you’re against that, all the power to you.

It also was a blizzard outside Thursday evening!  FINALLY………………….SNOW!!!!!!!!  I can’t stand the heat, I’ve been waiting for this since January!  I’m typically found wearing shorts, Kim made me wear pants = not a happy Chris.  I can’t even remember the last time I was outside for more than “5 minutes…”?  In retrospect, I should have gone with the shorts.  Our friends were up front to see their daughter.  We were at the back (wheelchair).  The parents at the back didn’t seem to care much.  They were mostly talking on their phone, texting, & visiting with other parents, that was utterly disappointing/heart breaking.

Well the snow is here, the house is decorated, the tree is up, I’ve seen a Christmas play by kids, & I still have resting Chris face.  What the hell is wrong with me?

I don’t see any issues with this?

She’s an American citizen, the impeachment is being done as stated by the Constitution & it’s well known that the democrats don’t want the current president re-elected.  So why is the guy so shocked by her statement?  Call me a dumb Canadian, but this isn’t breaking news.  I haven’t even watched American news in months.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “The Sin & the Sentence”

I exercised to “The Struts” both albums on shuffle.  If you enjoy “Queen”, I highly recommend them, their not as operatic, but slightly more pop instead.

Well, it was back to the grind on Monday.  No sinus cold to hold me back this week.  I’ve decided each Tuesday or Thursday will be yoga & stretching, the other day will be pushups & tricep lifts.  I need to stretch more, & I think the yoga, walking w/ my walker, squats, & leg lifts could all be beneficial to walking w/ my walker on my own.

As for my mental side of things, I don’t want it to be tied to my cancer but it is.  That’s no excuse for how I acted to people on the original link to this blog in 2011 & 2012, or when I blew up on an innocent victim last week.  The stress & frustration are more self-inflicted.  I always think to myself “This is my fault.  I should do more!  I should get better, faster!  Why am I not walking on my own yet?”

As for me being stubborn, that’s genetic through my mother’s side of the family.  I got that stubbornness & multiplied it by infinity.  Everybody else on that side of the family managed to deal with it properly though.  I feel like all through elementary & high school I bent over backwards, to make others comfortable & it doesn’t seem like anyone will bend for me at all, on the flip side of that no one should have to.  I know that’s not true, it’s “In my head”.

People might think I’m a victim or a hero………………….I’m neither of those things, I’m alive.  To those who say I’m “playing” the role of a victim.  I’m alive & I’m thankful for that.  I hope this makes sense, I’m a hero physically if that’s what you want to call me but I’m a victim mentally.  Everybody has the right to call me whatever they like.  “I’m just a little bit caught in the middle.”  I’m a victim mentally & I project it on others unintentionally without even knowing what I said.  I’m a victim, then I make others a victim.  More than enough of that.  I’m truly sorry & I don’t want to attack/hurt/victimize anyone from last week on.

I fell in love with Big Wreck when I turned 19 legal age to be in a bar. That was my first time seeing them. I’m 39 now & I haven’t missed a Big Wreck show in Regina, Saskatchewan ever.  I’ve seen them live at least 12-15 times. They instantly became one of my favourite bands, & still are!  Please help their 2nd guitarist, Brian Doherty, beat cancer by donating to this go fund me site please?

Billy Idol & Bryan Adams tour, American dates only.  I could do with just Bryan Adams, but Billy Idol should be a good show too.  No, I can’t go.  If it’s not here, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Calgary, or Edmonton, I’m out.  Depending on how many other show’s I’ve been to or have tickets to, our money tree is usually bare.

I’m the man baby here & I’m HIGH maintenance, I’m not even the eye candy here it’s Kim!  In order it’s Kim, Brewster, then me.  Kim’s HAWT, Brewster is furry & cute, & I’m just incredibly sweaty every day!

Remember “Woodstock 1994”?  That was a mess, probably a good thing the 50th anniversary of Woodstock was cancelled.

BILLY JOEL

He’s been around for as long as I can remember.  Seems so recently that “We didn’t start the fire” was just released, but I was in elementary school, 1989.  I remember going to a sitters place for lunch & after school, she had a son a few years older than me at the same school.  When that song was released, it was all he’d play.  We also listened to a lot of “The B52s” & “Fine Young Cannibals”.

Weirdest time I heard Billy Joel played was 4 of us heading to Saskatoon in my brother’s car to see a metal band, “Trivium”.  We all knew the words & sang along to Billy Joel’s “Greatest Hits” on the drive there.  I only have his double album of Greatest Hits, & the album “River of Dreams”…

Weekly exercise total; 600 pushups, 300 tricep pushups, 175 back flexes, 360 squats, 600 leg lifts, 300 crunches.

I fell asleep to “Neil Young” a greatest hits album

I exercised to “Ben Folds Five” the album “Whatever & Ever Amen”

Yes, I exercise immediately every morning.  Unfortunately cardio is not a regular part of the regular routine.  By the time Kim gets home from work, I’m exhausted & more exercise is usually the furthest thing from my mind.  I’m not blaming anyone for this.  “I need somebody” to assist me so I don’t fall & crack my head open.

The morning exercises help immensely with my walking, which is always assisted & with a walker.  “I’m not satisfied” with my status quo.  I’m not afraid to pile on more exercise, I just need to kick myself in the butt & do more.

I don’t even like talking about this, but it happened.  I don’t want to make a BIG deal about this but it is a BIG deal.  I’d love eradicate racism.  That’s won’t happen with Trump, Un, & Putin in power.  I know I’ll catch crap for this, but it needs to be said.

Abbreviating the “N” word to “Nig” does NOT make it any less offensive.  It angers, saddens, & offends me that people have to deal with this garbage & that the person who said this is a distant blood relative of mine.

I’ll be the first one to tell you that I’m not perfect.  I’ve NEVER even considered using a racial slur at anyone!  My aunt would severely over tan, we were in a restaurant & I said “WOW you look like an Indian”!  I think everyone thought I was using a racial slur regarding the Aboriginal community and told me to quiet down.  WOW were they off.  What I meant is people from India.  How is this racist?  Indian, Canadian, American, African, Australian, Mexican, English, etc.  I find East Indian racist, why do I have to specify Indian as “East” Indian?  Teach me please, should I use another word?

Metal screaming isn’t just noise & not everyone can do it, me included!

“Coheed & Cambria”.  Their new album “The Unheavenly Creatures” – October 5th release date, has some catchy tunes on it.

“Nothing but Thieves” – What did you think made me this way? 4 song EP – October 19th

“Greta Van Fleet” – Anthem of the Peaceful Army, October 19th

“The Struts” – Young & Dangerous, out October 26th on iTunes

“Into Eternity” – The Sirens, out October 26th on iTunes & more importantly www.bandcamp.com the money spent on www.bandcamp.com sends the majority of the proceeds go directly to the band members!

“Tenacious D” – Post Apocolypto, November 2nd on iTunes

“Muse” – Simulation Theory, November 9th on iTunes

No I don’t have all of these on preorder from iTunes.  I have 4/8 on preorder.  I hope to purchase a CD at a future “Into Eternity” show.  I’m holding out on “Tenacious D” since the previous album was more about vulgarity than anything else.  I’m going to wait until November for “Coheed & Cambria”.  I have a TON of music coming to me in October.

I just read a bit about another album release in October 26th, another one I’ll wait for until November.  My limit for October & November is at it’s capacity.

“Chevelle” – 12 Bloody Spies B – Sides & Rarities, October 26th full release date.

That’s it for iTunes purchases for me this year.  Gotta start with the Christmas Gifts, & probably delay more purchases on iTunes this year.

I fell asleep to “The Struts” the album “Everybody Wants”

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

2 days of walking with my walker with Kim helping me in the evenings.  She had some work related stuff to do this week.  I’m not posting the walking distance until the end of November.  It’s more about the quality than the quantity.

Morning exercise total; 625 pushups, 500 crunches, 650 leg lifts, & 420 squats.  Other exercises I did on occasion 150 tricep pushups & 40 back flexes.

Every day this week I’ve felt exhausted even before I exercise.  I wake up & think “Yay it’s Friday………nope it’s _________ ah, crap!”  No matter what I’m thinking on any day, I’m completely useless for a good 2-5 minutes & avoid any physical activity, even a shower.

So many things to think about when I’m walking!  Keep the walker straight, strike the floor with my heel, stand up straight, don’t take un-normal step amounts, etc.  I guess I should focus on one issue at a time, it should be less stressful that way.  I like to think my day is done after my morning routine, nope!  As much as I don’t like it, I don’t want to live in a wheelchair the rest of my life, & the exercises are making a noticeable difference, but I always know that someone is doing better than me.

This exercising isn’t just for me, it’s for me not to be a burden to other people too.  Nobody says I’m a burden, but things would be much easier if I was more independent.

How do I find out about the newer bands that I like?  Facebook &/or www.youtube.com.  I see a group I’ve never heard of & jump in feet first.  So this new music I find is all youtube’s fault.  “The Beaches”, “Nothing but Thieves”, “Dead Sara”, “The Struts”, “Greta Van Fleet” etc.  I see a thumbnail on www.youtube.com  & I click on it.  If I don’t like it, oh well there goes 3 minutes or less of my time.

If you don’t know who “The Beaches” are, you will come Juno time if you’re Canadian.  They’re nominated for ‘Best New Artist’.  They fall into the indie rock category which I sort of avoid but they got me.  4 girls in their early 20s from Ontario.

Summer TV isn’t terrible Toronto Blue Jays almost every day.  Then “Suits”, “Dr. Pimple Popper”, the TV series “Shooter”, “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”, & “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

It’s on TLC, I just assume it’s not real, very entertaining though!

“Shooter” is based on the movie starring Mark Wahlberg.  He the producer for this show.  The first season was the story that was told in the movie.  They’re on the 3rd season now.

No release date or preorder date has been announced yet, but I’m anxious for the new “Greta Van Fleet” album at the end of August or a bit later & MUSE in November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is “Into Eternity” day!!!

BRYAN ADAMS

I currently own only his ‘Greatest Hits’ & I had to add “Cuts Like a Knife” to it.  His album “Waking up the Neighbours” was one of the first 2 CDs I got with a boom box when I was 11.  The other CD was “C+C Music Factory”.  Bryan Adams is a Canadian legend.  I saw him last year at the new football stadium before the inaugural season started.  I saw him at ‘The Conexus Arts Center” 3 years ago (?), just him, his acoustic guitar, & a piano player.  Both shows did not disappoint. He’s been releasing albums since 1981 from what I can tell on iTunes.  Yes, he has a large catalogue of songs.  In no particular order, here’s a sampling…..

This first one is on “Waking up the Neighbours”

I fell asleep to “Foo Fighters” the album “Concrete & Gold”

I don’t get to listen to music much at the moment, something is off with my iTunes & our universal remote is loopy at the moment.  Possibly Friday all should be normal, well the remote more than likely.  The guy helping me at Apple has been really good, above & beyond a regular customer service person.

Very short week of exercise for me!  Honestly, I could use it.  A full week seems to make me very tired.  On weekends, lately, I tend to sleep in longer, like as long as I did as a teenager.  11:00 am is quite normal for me on weekends.  I really don’t like that, it feels like I’ve wasted the day!  During the week I like getting up around 7:00 am & getting stuff done.  Lately I get up early & feel very sluggish.  I don’t know if it’s because I’ll be 38 in January or that I need a break?  We really don’t know how to relax.  We’re both tired from each of us having very different days doing very different things than the other.  I have no plan in relaxing until the break between Christmas & New Year.  I just hope I can make it that far.

Anyways, Monday was a holiday & Kim has Friday off, I’ll be off as well!  3 day week for me.  If you haven’t subscribed you may want to do so before the posts becomes a very random, instead of the typical Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.  Facebook seems to slow down from December-January.  I’ll be doing a blog post on Friday though.

Yesterday after my exercise, I was awake………………barely.  I felt…

Today was much better!

THAT’S ALL FOR WHAT’S ON MY MIND & CANCER TALK!  HERE COMES THE POPCULTURE STUFF!

Remember please that these have all been my most precious albums that have influenced me.  I enjoy metal music, some of it, I could never play it or growl.  I played & sang rock music.  After I got into metal, I started dating Kim in 2002.  Her brother-in-law was a metal fan & we’d suggest metal & rock bands to each other.  Then my brother started listening to some metal.  These are all from the first albums I heard by these groups or purchased/borrowed.  So here’s a few bands I’ve found out about through our grape vine which includes Corey McDonald…

I know Mitch & Corey aren’t into all of this anymore, I couldn’t tell you about James though?

I discovered more on my own that James was in to, & left me to discover it on my own.

Before all of this we all got in to “System of a Down” on our own.  I really didn’t like them at first.

No, I don’t just listen to metal music.  I have some Harry Connick Jr, Nat King Cole, Norah Jones, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Genesis, etc.  My first 2 CDs as a kid were….

The actual Bryan Adams album “Waking up the Neighbours”

Friday night we stayed in & watched the Blue Jays try really hard to lose a game, but they won…while I had beer!

Saturday I went to the brand new football stadium for a concert & to check out the spot we’ll (my parents & I) be sitting for the season.  Our tickets are FANTASTIC!  Wheelchair accessible (no stairs), park almost directly across the street, come in on the concourse (stadium is dug into the ground), very close to center field (were on the 50 yard line, so 5 yards from center field), I was able to get to the washroom near us.  First time in years I’ve been able to have anything to drink at the stadium since the “wheelchair” washrooms at the old stadium weren’t really wheelchair accessible.

Watched the Blue Jays win in the afternoon (5 in a row now), then saw Our Lady Peace, Johnny Reid & Bryan Adams (who thought those 3 acts would ever work together???  Because they don’t).  Our Lady Peace played mostly stuff from the first 4 albums which was about perfect for me.  Johnny Reid was Johnny Reid, & Bryan Adams was FANTASTIC as always!!!!

Our seats are great can’t wait for the season to start!  I hope they can win more than 4 or 5 games this year.

Sunday is more baseball, stuff to do around the house & supper with my grandparents.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

Why are people complaining about the new Linkin Park?  It’s basically free and you can hear it before you spend at most $12.  Sorry, I can’t justify hatred of an album you can hear before purchasing it so cheap.  Hell, back in my day an album on this thing called a Compact Disc with one song on TV & Radio (if you’re lucky) & would cost me $25.

I LIKE THE MUSIC INFO!  I’LL KEEP IT AT THE END, IF YOU DON’T WANT IT SKIP IT

If you like it, please share & subscribe?  If you don’t please give me feedback as to what would improve it for you?  I can’t please everyone but I can try.

Nice!  This site had 10 viewings by 7 people from Canada & the USA.  Please keep sharing people!  On Facebook we hit 89.  I can’t tell who is reading this but thank you.  As for who I see reading it on the website, all I see is the country & how many people from that country have viewed it.  If you’ve subscribed with your email I can see that as well.

I don’t want to overload you with links, pick what you want to know about & feel free to skip the other stuff.  The www.youtube.com links are there for a point of reference if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Don’t feel as though you have to open every link.

I fell asleep to “Green Day” the album “Dookie”, followed by “Wide Mouth Mason” their S/T album

I stretched to “The Watchmen” their 3rd album “Brand New Day”

I was ready Monday to do my exercise but after 300 crunches I knew to lay off.  My legs were getting sore.  I figure this should be a week of stretching only.  This leg/hip problem is really annoying & preventing me from doing what I’d like to do.  I was told by one of my doctors not to lay on my right side, so I didn’t.  After a while of sleeping on my left side, I woke up, stood up to get in my wheelchair & it felt as though I had a bruise on my left hip.  Now I can sleep on my back & somewhat on my right side.  This week will be stretching & guitar along with Blue Jay baseball!

I was going to do some pushups from my knees on Monday, then I realized I gave myself a large gash on my knee from crawling around.  It looks like I had knee surgery, far worse than it really is.  Didn’t really hurt ever, it just looks horrible.

I think I’ll continue the music/movie news.  I like it, stuff I’d like to know.  If all you want is surviving cancer news I’ll keep it at the top here.  If you want the pop culture stuff, I’ll put it below.  Like I said, the www.youtube.com links are just for reference if you don’t know who or what I’m talking about, you don’t need to play the entire clip.

As for this week, I’ll be practicing the song by “Clutch” & the song by “Foo Fighters”

This Barenaked Ladies medley of cover songs was too good not to share.
