Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Paramore” the album “RIOT”

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” 56 B – Sides on shuffle

Nope, no massive headache on Sunday & I’m not in the hospital unconscious.  I’m here!

No, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl.  13 – 3 for the Patriots!  Now that sounds like a great game to fall asleep to!  I don’t watch the NFL or the Super Bowl.  I don’t have a cable package to get the advertisements & I don’t think “Maroon 5” is a big enough name to entice a large TV rating.  They’re a big name, but not big enough.

I didn’t see the half time show but looking at the comments on it, I hear it wasn’t good in general.  At least they got to try.  I didn’t think “Bruno Mars” was a big enough name either at the time.  I heard very few negative comments in comparison to Maroon 5.  To compare & assess who had a better show is for those who judge talent shows, apples to oranges as they say.  I watched the half time show on www.youtube.com so I wouldn’t be talking about something I didn’t see.

I think people who attended or watched the game on TV shouldn’t throw out negative comments.  It’s basically a “free” music event.  Sure I assume a portion of the ticket price would be used to pay for part of the entertainment, but anyone with any interest in the half time show isn’t guaranteed a life changing experience from the musical entertainment.

Every musician isn’t perfect all of the time.  Everyone has a rough day once in a while?

At the end of the day, it happened & it’s over.  Time to quit complaining on social media about it.  You’re just wasting your time repeating your dislike that has been stated by 1,000,000s of other people.  No need to add to the negativity everywhere.

YAY! “Alter Bridge” start writing as a group in April!

http://loudwire.com/alter-bridge-work-new-album-next-month/?fbclid=IwAR1JKN5ZFzGToTdUqGVf_6v4iUD023DIuWRpZtK7N4-3DnGU8cY4JLy_gUI

Movie news regarding a few franchises!  Releases in the distant future.  DC, Fast & Furious.  I’m a big fan of the DC movies & yes I enjoy the Marvel movies.

I hear something one day & the next day it changes.  Last I heard about the DC comic movies, they’re hitting the reset button on almost everything.  Superman, Batman, & some of the “Suicide Squad” are being re-cast.  Margot Robbie is currently filming one of her standalone movies as Harley Quinn.

No new “Tool” this April.  Since the release of “10,000 Days” in 2006 & a follow up album that has yet to surface, I’ve had brain cancer & recovered.  “10,000 Days” is the length of time that Maynard’s mother had a stroke & died.

http://loudwire.com/maynard-james-keenan-shoots-down-april-release-tool-new-album/?fbclid=IwAR0_eHiq8qqD5nyGcy4LuUPSazqQWdwrX8I19S8B2sULJicXVfErBuDlJ44

I don’t feel entitled to a new album.  I feel entitled to the truth.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

I can’t tell you how many albums they have released, I’ll just say A LOT.  I believe they’re based in California.  We listened to the singer’s, Anthony Keidis, audiobook.  He was a heroin addict when they began their career & was nearly kicked out of the band since he missed rehearsals or was late & how up high.  I have 4 of their albums, 2 of which I like.  I believe I was in elementary school when I first heard them.  There was a guy a year ahead of me around the corner from my parents’ apartment, & he had the cassette of “Mother’s Milk” released in 1989.  I remember that I thought it was just weird/different & I didn’t care for it much.  I bought the CD of “Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik” thinking it would be great since the 2 singles from it were.  Unfortunately those were the only songs I enjoyed on the album.  I bought the albums “Californication”, “By The Way”, & the double album “Stadium Arcadium”.  I liked “Californication” & “By The Way”, they’re on my iPod.  “Stadium Arcadium” I listened to once, & that was enough.  I was done following this band.  FANTASTIC musicians, just not my type of music.

I’m not a big fan of funk/rock to begin with.  I think they’re on their 4th guitarist?  I believe the first guitarist died, John Frusiante joined then quit, Dave Navarro joined, John Frusiante rejoined, he quit & now they’re with a new/4th guitarist.

1991   BLOOD, SUGAR, SEX, MAGIK

I bought this CD between 1998 – 2001?  I don’t listen to it at all now.

1999   CALIFORNICATION

I’ve played “Otherside” & “Around the World” live.

2002   BY THE WAY

2006   STADIUM ARCADIUM

Now I only listen to “Californication” & “By the Way” on the rare occasion.

Please share this, I’m not profiting from this at all.  Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 days of exercise total; 200 pushups, 600 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 300 tricep lifts, 300 squats, 300 back flexes.

I fell asleep to “Big Wreck” the album “In Loving Memory Of……”

I exercised to “Pantera” their “Greatest Hits”

Wednesday turned out to be quite lazy, after a fast & early morning.  The handle on the back of my wheelchair got fixed.  The guy had to take my chair to the shop though.  He said he’d be back within an hour.  Got my chair back a bit under 2 hours later.  I already had 2 liters of water, had to crawl to the washroom a couple of times.  All was fine but I bruised my big toe.  It was throbbing quite a bit Wednesday night.

That has temporarily slowed me down a bit.  No squats, pushups, or walking. Since Wednesday’s exercise was complete.  I really don’t like to cut back on anything, it’s frustrating.  I’d show you but I have no phone/camera & it’s really ugly!  I wanted to do a TON more walking with my walker this year, like 3 times a week at minimum.  We’ve only been walking 3 times so far this year.

In other news, Kim picked up my new glasses on her way home Wednesday.  I am now a slightly attractive, near sighted pirate.  All I’m missing is a peg leg & a hook.

Throughout all of this cancer garbage, I lost sight of what I was really easy for me before.  Remain humble, really appreciate all of the great people who care about me.

Well, I guess that’s one decade cancer free.  So I’m “…done, done.  On to the next one…..”

I always say I want to see any movie in the theater & it never happens!  I usually just buy the blu-ray.  Anyways, here’s the upcoming Spider-man movie.

I would have liked to see “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Venom”, “Aquaman”, “Avengers Infinity War”, “Ant-man & the Wasp”, & many more in the theater.  I’ll just buy them when they’re available.  I’ll watch a movie multiple times.  Example; Deadpool.  I’ve watched that movie a minimum of 15 times, & I’m not exaggerating at all.  Instant classic for me!  Out of that list I’m just missing “Bohemian Rhapsody” & “Aquaman”.  Could be much worse.

BRUNO MARS

I hear that he used to work as an Elvis impersonator & that’s how he started his musical career.  Don’t quote me on that, that’s hearsay news.  He was born October 8th, 1985, in Honolulu, & named Pete Gene Hernandez (thank you Google!).  He has released 3 albums, a single, & the song “Uptown Funk” on an album done by Mark Ronson.  He’s made a career of being very transparent as to what his influences are in his radio hits.  The Police, James Brown, Michael Jackson, etc.

2010    DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS

2012   UNORTHODOX JUKEBOX

2016   24K MAGIC

2018   SINGLE

2015   UPTOWN SPECIAL (MARK RONSON)

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

So it’s February 4th today.  On Sunday, February 3rd, 2008, I experienced the shortest & most painful headache while I was shoveling snow in our backyard.  Weird thing was that it was very brief & in the back bottom portion of my head.  Kim saw me sitting down on our back step holding my head wincing in pain.  She told me to stop shoveling & come inside.  The pain past very soon.  We thought nothing of it & I went to work on Monday, we carpooled since her office was on my way.

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008.  We carpooled again as usual.  I think I was on my 2nd docket of the day.  2 of my co-workers told me I looked very pale.  Odd since I felt fine, until 30 seconds later.  I laid down on the cat-walk of the printing press.  Called one of my co-workers & asked him to call 911 for me.  I was in the back of an ambulance in very few minutes.  The last thing I remember is Kim getting into the back of the ambulance with me (her boss drove her over since I had the car).  The last thing I remember before I was in a coma for 4 or 5 weeks, was telling Kim in the back of the ambulance was “It will be OK sweetie” & thank goodness it was.

Here I am 10 years later, I’m in a wheelchair with an iPatch.  My speech isn’t great, & my left hand shakes.  All things considered it sure beats the worst case scenario!

In those 10 years, my family has lost far too many people to cancer.  My “Aunt”, Aunt, Grandfather, family friend, another Aunt’s sister & a handful of others who survived.  My mother especially has had a very rough time.  Her only sister, her father, & 3 good friends.  I’m pretty sure my Grandfather was the only one over 70 when he died at the age of 84, one week before his 85th birthday.  I guess he told mom he’d never live to be 85.

One set of aunt & uncle from Alberta were here helping my grandparents pack & move to a new condo suite.  They’re moving to a different suite in the same building, but now meals will be made for them, instead of them making their own meals.  My grandmother has had a rough time lately but she’s keeping her spirit up.  Grandpa is tired quite a bit but that’s pretty much par for the course for any male Fraser.  We’ve all had a turn zonking out on the living room floor after a large meal in the dining room of their house, COMFY floor!  Pillow from the sofa, big plush carpet, & drooling out the side of your mouth within 5 minutes!  Grandpa, dad, me, my brother & probably my cousins too.

Had a great visit with my uncle.  I assume my aunt didn’t bring perogies for me & was likely “busy” or doesn’t love me anymore?  Hurts me a bit…….on the inside……..my “feels” Hahahahahahahaha!

Great but are they all worth recording & releasing?  Quality over quantity.

http://loudwire.com/billy-corgan-26-songs-various-states-completion-production-insanity/

I saw that “Pink” is touring across Canada, I’d go, but the money tree is bare & I’ve scraped off the bark for 3 maybe 4 concerts this year.  The 4th one doesn’t have a date yet but the group has said they will be in Regina.  If it wasn’t in Saskatchewan, I wouldn’t even think of going!

I believe Mark Tremonti has said he’s holding a listening party for his 4th album in May?  The album’s not even fully recorded.  Only 13 drum tracks are done!

Western Canada does not have any large festivals, I believe there’s at least one in Ontario.

http://loudwire.com/rock-metal-music-festivals-guide/

I guess I should have watched the entire “Grammy Awards”.  Bruno Mars won album & record of the year.  Why are those 2 different awards?  I’m a HUGE Bruno Mars fan!  I had to choose between seeing “Queen” or “Bruno Mars” one year.  I had to go with “Queen”, I’ll likely never get the opportunity to see them live again.  Bruno Mars has set himself up for what I hope will be a long career.

Rockers bringing kids on stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are the groups www.loudwire.com thinks should play at the “Super Bowl”

http://loudwire.com/bands-play-super-bowl-halftime-show/

Here’s why I respectfully disagree.  Great choices for a rock/metal fan.  You need a big name act to play the “Super Bowl”!  If you put a band like “Gwar” on the stage 80-90% of people watching will say “Who?”  Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, or KISS, maybe.  Out of the 3, I’d go with Pearl Jam or their HUGE catalogue of very diverse songs, & the bands popularity.

Even them I would question playing at the Super Bowl.  The NFL should have a pop act or country act.  What do most people enjoy listening to?

You can’t please everyone all of the time, so the NFL is doing something right.  A pop or country group should please most people watching the Super Bowl & everyone knows the name Justin Timberlake!

I thought “collusion” was only a word used in the White House?  Apparently the slow off-season in baseball can now include the word “collusion”.  Very few, like 2 or 3 teams are doing anything yet team work outs are set for February 21st,  pitchers & catchers start work outs earlier on February 14th.

I fell asleep to “U2” the album “Songs of Experience”

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Beautiful Trauma”

Monday I only did 3 out of 6 exercises, pushups, crunches, & squats.  Tuesday was my birthday aka I did nothing!  On Monday I was still recovering from Saturday.  No hangover, just stayed up too late.  Usually any time after 11:00 pm, is a game of Russian roulette for me.  Everyone left by 11:00 pm, but I stayed up until 12:20 am or so & wrote most of this!

I guess I’m old now & not as cool anymore.  I’m 38 & still feel (in my mind) like I’m 20.  I really don’t miss doing the jobs I did in my teens.  Especially being a “banquet porter” at a hotel.  Longest shift I ever worked was there 14 hours long.  That was a difficult job, strength wise.  All of those weddings, Christmas parties, ethnic nights, meetings, dances, etc.  That’s why I got so tired of hearing “one hit wonders” from the 90s.  Most nights there would be some event & weekends were a guaranty there would be at least 3.  Bartending, serving food, cleaning up & setting up meeting rooms for the next day, putting a banquet room together, all of that I did for far too long 16-20 years of age I’m guessing.  I already had to wear a tuxedo shirt & a bowtie for high school band & choir at school & then at work that night………….by the way, I REALLY don’t like wearing dress clothes.

You’ve probably never thought of who put 500 round tables in here for your supper & this dance floor for afterwards.  I never thought about it either, but it was a team of likely 20 people, & I was one of them.  I’d spend an evening shift going up & down the back hallway & heard this kind of stuff on repeat……..

How many times have you heard the “Macarena”?  Great multiply that by 50 & welcome to my life as a teenager!

I would hear those songs 5 times minimum on a Friday or Saturday night at work.  Then go home & watch “Much Music” & turn it off immediately if they were playing one of those songs.  I can tolerate them, but after the 3rd time it just became ridiculous!

I tried really hard to watch “The Grammy Awards” but it was mostly me thinking “Who’s that?  Why is this the cool thing?  Man, I don’t get the attraction to this music, it’s mostly disposable candy music I’ll forget tomorrow.”

Thank goodness for “Bruno Mars”, “Sting” & “U2”.  If you we’re hoping to see the rock & metal categories, they weren’t aired on the TV broadcast.  Foo Fighters won for best rock song & Mastodon won for best metal performance.

Bruno Mars may sample stuff, but he’s always entertaining!

I think this all points to the fact that I’m not all that hip to what the cool kids are listening to, & that I suddenly became old.

I didn’t see the last 15 minutes of “The Grammy Awards” & I’m pretty sure I didn’t need or want to.  Congratulations to those who were nominated & those who won.  I applaud you’re hard work, I’m just not your demographic for most of you.

Every front man/front woman wants to be Freddie Mercury on stage, but they’re not.  They’re themselves & fans just want honesty, so it works out for everyone.  I wasn’t in an extremely successful band or even a moderately successful band.  I figured, “They paid $5 to see us play, might as well do the best I can!”  If anybody saw us whether it was a free benefit show or if it was a $15 ticket to a Cabaret, they’d better enjoy their evening.

http://loudwire.com/top-hard-rock-metal-frontmen-of-all-time/

Are you a “Led Zeppelin” fan?  Have you bought the “Greta Van Fleet” album “From the Fires”?  It’s 8 songs that you could easily put on any “Led Zeppelin” album with upbeat tempos.

I made the mistake of watching some of the “State of the Union” speech last night, & I almost……

It doesn’t matter how many beer you have “Tom Sawyer” is one of the 3 radio hits by Rush that has never been enjoyable for me!

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should the Blue Jays have tried harder to get Christian Yelich?  Try?  Who says they went that far?  Anything not regarding Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should have been seriously considered.  The GM & the manager of baseball operations were told not to “blow up” the core players.  So I guess it’s the owner of Roger’s communications who really wants to irk the fans.  So far this has been an absolutely TERRIBLE off season!

http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/sportsnet-hot-stove/blue-jays-tried-harder-get-christian-yelich/

If you’re not a diehard fan of the “Toronto Blue Jays” at this point I’d ask that you please avert your eyes.  This season could be worse than last year.  If you choose to watch you’ll likely be watching mostly old struggling players among a few minor league players to fill other spots.

Friday ended with me slow roasting on the couch.  Until my father & cousin got here, so the 3 of us could go to the casino to see Barenaked Ladies!!!!  FANTASTIC show as usual.  They were my first concert in 1992.  I was not expecting to hear a pop music medley of many songs including, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber & many more, a death metal improvised rap, Violent Femmes cover, or a singer/drummer switch for the encore & a Led Zeppelin cover!  They played 4 or 5 songs from their new album.  Most of the show consisted of material from their first 3 albums, & a medley of cover songs.  If they’re coming to town, you know where I’ll be.  I don’t know if I’ve ever missed one of their shows in Regina.

Saturday was incredibly lazy.  Kim did some Christmas shopping with her sister.  I wasted 4 hours watching 2 terrible movies.  Thank goodness they were on Netflix or I’d be asking for my money & 4 hours of my life back!  All I need is the 4 hours back.  Then we watched “Wind River” if you like the movie “Fargo” I would say “Wind River” is a must see.  Similar story sort of, with much more dialogue.

I REALLY wanted to see this movie & it exceeded my expectations!

Sunday was the 2 of us sleeping in, followed by getting the house ready for our Christmas tree & watching the Grey Cup here!  The right team won, for me!  As long as Calgary, B.C. or Montreal isn’t in the mix, I’m as happy as can be!  Especially since Toronto beat my hometown Riders to get to the Grey Cup!  If we get dumped out of the playoffs, whoever beat Saskatchewan better win the entire thing.

Today is Christmas day tree & Kim has dropped hints about listening to Christmas music.  Well you have to listen to Christmas music when putting up the tree!  At least in my family!

Once the tree is done I’ll get to my top 10 albums of the year, only one metal album purchased this year, also a Foo Fighters, Big Wreck, & Queens of the Stone Age album.  Number 1 & 2 might surprise you.  Alas, I’m done purchasing music this year.

BARENAKED LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely the best Barenaked Ladies show I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They were touring in support of their new album ‘Fake Nudes’.  Which has some REALLY good songs, with typical BNL songs.

The concert was full of older/familiar songs with these 5 songs ^^^ songs sprinkled into the mix.

Then the show got really good/weird with some cover songs & medley of current hit songs!

They did a REALLY good job of this song with the drummer & singer switching places for the encore!

I’m biased though.  Take this with a grain of salt.  They were my first concert at the age of 12 in 1992.  All of that being said, I’ve seen them quite a few times but this was the best BNL show I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fell asleep to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Lullabies to Paralyze”

I exercised to “Portal” the album “Blood Red Tape”.  Tool & A Perfect Circle fans listen up!

They’re an independent band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/blood-red-tape/id292933756

I’m here as much as I need a break from this thing!  I’ve upped my sets of pushups & I’m “exhausted”, & I still have stuff to do around the house.  Other than Mondays, I get excited & think to myself “Yay, it’s Friday!!!!!”  Then I snap back to reality & think “Ah, fudge sickle it’s Tuesday”.  Each day is a little more difficult than the day before & by Friday, I’m living on coffee.  Even on Monday I was tired, the only reason I got up was because I had to pee, or else I would have stayed in bed.

I look forward to the weekend as much as most people do.  I may not work a 40 hour work week.  Between exercise & stuff around the house, I keep myself pretty busy.  When Friday comes around I’m relieved that it’s the weekend.

THAT’S ALL FOR WHAT’S ON MY MIND & CANCER TALK!  HERE COMES THE POPCULTURE STUFF!

Not much in the pop-culture news.  Some orange guy is hoarding ALL of the news.

Foo Fighters & Rick Astley?  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!  AUDIO/VIDEO IN THE LINK

https://consequenceofsound.net/2017/08/foo-fighters-perform-never-gonna-give-up-with-rick-astley-in-japan-watch/?wasp=facebook-ads

Does this mean that Rick Astley is the surprise guest on the new Foo Fighters album?  One is Paul McCartney drumming on a song but they’re not letting anyone know who the second guest is?

Britney Spears covers Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to talk about”

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/watch-britney-spears-cover-something-to-talk-about-w498588

At Fenway Park they always sing “Sweet Caroline” during the 7th inning stretch.  This is the best version I’ve seen!

I can’t wait for the new ‘Queens of the Stone Age’ album “Villains” on Friday.  I don’t sleep a ton.  I’ll see if iTunes has fixed the mistake on their end & grab it Thursday evening.  I preordered it on iTunes, but the second single didn’t come through for me.  I called the iTunes support line, they told me they had never seen that problem before?  Friday, I might be on the phone all day?

The album was produced by Mark Ronson.  The same guy that produced this little hit song.

Movies I’d like to see…

WOWY!!!!!!!!

But is it real?  Multiple re-writes & directors.  If it is real, get ready for the world to tell you how bad it was.  Like Batman vs. Superman, or Nickelback, everybody talks about how awful the movie or music is but both have made millions of dollars.  So who’s spending money on them?  I love Batman vs. Superman, & they have my money.  I have watched that movie at least 15 times!

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “In Loving Memory of…”

What is it going to take to have Trump impeached?  How many times will we toss him a softball & he swings?  He doesn’t want North Korea to start a war on USA soil.  Great, that would probably affect us Canadians too.  But if any group of white supremacists wants to have a war on US soil against any one that’s different, that’s OK?  Can we please just get rid of him already?  I had brain cancer & survived.  If I were black or any colour than white or a part of the #LGBTQ community, which I fully support, & lived in the USA, I would probably be on the kill list, if not dead already.

When your President avoids any question, he’s actually saying a LOT!  Has STRONGLY implied that domestic white on black terrorism is OK.  Any person or group of another race hurting white people is wrong.  This morning I saw a report that he has stopped the funding of an anti-white supremacist group.  A group that helps people leave a neo-Nazi or KKK type of group safely if a person wants out.

Thanks Donnie, look at how much you’ve divided your own country.  People took to the streets on a random Saturday in August!

LANGUAGE & DISTURBING IMAGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t have anything polite to say about this current event.  Coincidence they support Donnie?

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.  It’s long but potent for today’s world.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Young Turks.  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want a travel ban?  I wouldn’t worry about most people visiting your country for a while.  You’ve pushed most people away already.  I have nothing against reasonable Americans, but Donnie is certainly an unreasonable one I would avoid, along with the KKK, Neo-Nazis or any hate group.  Thanks for taking your country back to the 1940s.

People send gay children to camps to become straight?!?!  I think it’s time everyone send their kids to anti-hate camps!

Diemonds released their last album in 2015.  If You like Guns n’ Roses, Diemonds might be just what you want to check out.  I’m not a GNR fan in the least, but Diemonds are AWESOME to me.  This is from their Facebook page.

“Never Wanna Die was released August 14, 2015, two years ago today. The album is dedicated to the memories of Alan Riches, Paul Mancuso and Vassil Mester, all one time members of Diemonds that passed away while we were writing it. We miss them. It was recorded with producer Eric Ratz in Toronto, Canada. We had our first experiences doing fun co-writes with Alan Frew from Glass Tiger (Never Wanna Die) and Ian D’Sa from Billy Talent (Ain’t That Kinda Girl) to name a few. We’re incredibly proud of its nomination of Heavy Metal Album of the Year in the 2016 Juno Awards. We’ve been lucky enough to tour this album in Canada, Japan, United States, and soon we’ll be able to add England, Scotland, France, Spain, Germany, and Austria to the list. Thank you for all of the continued support!! What’s your favourite track? Where do you want to see us live once we are finished recording our next record?”

Found a new show to watch on Netflix, Atypical.  All about a teenage boy with Autism or Asperger’s.  Sorry, I don’t really know what the difference is?
