Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “Matthew Good Band”, “U2”, “The Struts”, “Big Wreck”, & “Lamb of God”

We went to my parents’ place on Thursday for my father’s 60th birthday.  His birthday was on Monday, but this was the most convenient time to celebrate.  Bitter sweet since my friend’s father died this week.

We had a “Chili’s” restaurant in Regina, now it’s called “Rotisserie”.  Think KFC without any grease, WAY better!  1 bucket of BBQ ribs, garlic potato wedges, ceaser salad, McCain deep & delicious chocolate, a 2L of iced tea (sweet tea), & 1 bucket of chicken.

Friday my in-laws got into town in the afternoon.  We went to Sherry & James’ place in the afternoon to hang out & have supper there, BBQ hamburgers.  We came home fairly late, but Brewster had a great time running around in their backyard.  My cold is finally starting to fade away.

Saturday everyone was here for make your own pizza supper.  I ended up sleeping until 11 am, got up, showered, got dressed, & had my lunch.  Realized the dishwasher was full of clean dishes.  Emptied the dishwasher made my veggie juice for the week & 1 of many teas w/ lemon & honey.

My in-laws drove home Sunday in the late morning.  I said goodbye to them Saturday night in case I slept in, & of course I slept in.  I got up, did all of my morning crap.  Had lunch, boiled some eggs & we went to our friends’ place for our “nephews” first birthday.

It took the little guy a while to fully embrace the 1st birthday party cupcake, but he ended up doing the right way eventually……….it was EVERYWHERE!  A couple of wash clothes later & he was ready to go!

We came home & Kim watched “American Idol” aka a talent contest ruled by 3 celebrities who offer very few if any constructive criticism to help the contestants.  I’d rather not watch it, but I want to spend time with my wife.

Today should be a lazy day of TV, a little bit of laundry, & not much else.

On April 19th, 1980 “Blondie’s” ‘Call me’ hit number 1 on the Billboard charts

10 songs written & recorded for Alter Bridge, 4 more left to go.  ABVI on the way.

I know that most of you aren’t into metal.  Don’t worry it doesn’t bite & “Uncle” Chris will always hold your hand through it.  I’m going to do a metal group followed by a non-metal group.  Just so you don’t feel overloaded with metal music.

An underground metal band based in Regina.  This group made me dip my toe into metal music with their 3rd album “Buried in Oblivion”.  I believe the first album was recently put on iTunes.  They just released their 6th album last year after a decade of the odd show here & there.  They tour all over the world & they’ve gone on tour with some big name metal acts like “Megadeth” & “Dream Theater”.  I have the “Gigantour” DVD when they toured with “Megadeth”.  “Into Eternity” & “Opeth” are easily the 2 heaviest bands I listen to, they can also sing you a lullaby though.  I didn’t go to this concert.  My brother was going to take me, but he’s waiting for surgery.  He has bone spurs on his shoulders, it’s hard for him to turn his neck, lift things, & his arms go numb sometimes.  He gets migraines if he doesn’t lay down every 45 minutes.  I figured he likely shouldn’t lift my chair or go to a concert.

I’d love to see them but not at the expense of my brother’s health.  Cheap tickets, $15 for an advanced tickets.  I’ll keep this brief for you.

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you! Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

I don’t really like doing reviews. I’ve been asked to do a review regarding the brand new football stadium, so here it is from the perspective of me in a wheelchair.
The brand new Mosaic Canadian Football League stadium in Regina. I’ve been lucky enough to have been at most Saskatchewan Roughrider games in Regina since I was old enough for my grandfather to hold me on his lap. I’m guessing since I was 3 years old. Now our season tickets are in my mother’s name, my parents & I go to the games now.
From my perspective at the games, this new stadium is FANTASTIC! There are 2 wheelchair washrooms that I can manage to get to by myself with ease. Our view of the field is excellent. When everybody stands up, we can see everything on the field still. When people directly in front of us stand, they’re around the height of our knees!
There are 9 instead of 2 elevators I hear, I’ve never had to use one at either stadium. We park directly across the street & enter on concourse level, our seats are also on concourse level. The stadium was built under ground level, it’s Regina’s Grand Canyon. We sit on the east side/sunny side. With our seats on ground level & the west side being higher with 2 levels the sun is out of our eyes sooner. If you’re wearing a hat or have sun glasses, the sun is no problem to deal with. Friends of ours sit on a level above us & have the same issues with the sun that the entire east side had at the old stadium.
I only have 2 minor complaints regarding the new stadium, which we were asked about at the exhibition game. Every regular seat has a cup holder, the wheelchair seats don’t. Wheelchair seating is basically a fenced in community in every section. The fence has a slightly larger post every 4-5 feet, I’m sure 2 cup holders on each large post could easily be done.
The other issue is that our section needs a metal plate on the ground over four small bumps on the entrance & exit to our wheelchair seats. I’m sure it’s coming since we noticed one section we passed already had one for the exhibition game. Other than those two things, I’d give the new Mosaic stadium a strong A or once those little things are corrected an A+!
There are many food & drink vendors in the stadium. That would be my only major complaint. The prices are outrageous, so I don’t purchase anything. I found out the hard way that a regular size can of pilsner beer costs $9. Found out at the exhibition game in June. I had a burger & 2 pilsners, cost me roughly $25? Coke & popcorn from now on, $12 or nothing at all.
The season ticket seats that I’ve been sitting in all of my life were pretty easy for me to get to with a little help from my father. He’d push my wheelchair up 2 ramps, help me walk up 10-12 stairs, & our seats were directly in front of us. We’d have to walk about 5 feet, go down one step, I’d sit & slide over to my spot. I was unable to have any fluids in me for about 5 hours, the washrooms weren’t very accessible at the old stadium. We’d get there an hour before the game & be among the last 100 people to leave the stadium. We didn’t want to slow anyone down or get in the way. Someone always offered to help which was nice. Standard response “Thanks we’re OK, just slow”.
5 hours without any fluid, I’d chew sugarless gum. It kept my mouth moist. Dry mouth is a side-effect from my medication. When my mouth gets dry, I’m really difficult to understand! It sounds similar to me speaking after 5 alcoholic beverages!

I adore Foo Fighters, I have for a long time. I’ll admit they’ve made a few songs I wasn’t really into. Their new album “Concrete & Gold” has me worried. I’ve heard 4 songs in total from their September release. 2 of the songs I really like, possibly 3. There is 1 song I could do without, & that 3rd song might sound really good recorded rather than live, which is how I heard the 3 other songs other than “Run”

I got the new album by ‘Stone Sour’ on Friday. I’d have to say their new album “Hydrograd” is my favourite album of theirs along with “Come What (ever) May”. It’s a FANTASTIC hard rock album! I’m looking forward to diving deeper into it.

As for ‘Tool’ or ‘A Perfect Circle’, I don’t know, but either one would be welcome. I guess if you believe, bassist Justin Chancellor of Tool, they’re roughly 90% done the album. Yet, A Perfect Circle stated they’d be in the studio this year as well. That’s all the info I can dig up for you, take it with a grain of salt. With these 2 bands I wait to believe them until I’ve got the album.

We rented “CHiPS” a few days ago. A raunchy comedy rated R, definitely not for kids. Good for a chuckle for adults though.

OK, Stone Sour & Nickelback have both released albums in the last 2 weeks like one or the other or both. Just because you’re anti this doesn’t mean you’re pro the other. You can like both or not like either. Nobody has the right to tell you what to listen to. I’m not a Nickelback fan, they have their place though, just not on my iTunes. Millions of other people like them though!

I say leave Nickelback alone if you don’t like them. I’m simply not a fan of theirs. I bought 2 of their very early albums & saw them in concert years ago. I like Stone Sour, bring on the haters, I guess? Like em’ or not Nickelback has done very well!

Flashback to 1975. When ‘Blondie’ played at CBGB!

I’m always speaking on my behalf only. Just wanted to make that clear before writing this part. If Gene Simmons of KISS, can make money off of something, he’ll find a way to do so. I’m just waiting for the day he tries to trademark air & water……………….I don’t think that’s out of his realm? At least his latest effort was pulled back quickly due to rock & metal fans back lash!

I’ll catch you tomorrow, with a proper staycation update! In Canada we still have tomorrow off!

I fell asleep to “Paramore” the recently released album “After Laughter”

I exercised to “Rage Against the Machine” the self-titled album

I’m 37 now, high school was a loooooooooooooooooooooong time ago.  Next year, I graduated 20 years ago.  High school isn’t something I think of very often since it was so long ago.  It was very much a clique situation.  I wasn’t a jock, “cool kid”, a part of any labeled group.  I hung out with Timothy Wong, Jonny Amore & Guy McWatt.  When I wasn’t with them, Timothy Wong & I hung out with Faye Wallenberg & Jan Wagner.  Both of those groups were pretty much unlabeled from what I know.  My high school was ENORMOUS!  I think my graduating class of 1998 was 240+?  I know for sure it was over 200 people.  I played in the school band, quit that & joined the choir.  Choir stuck as an extra-curricular activity, then I auditioned for the schools Chamber Choir, I made it!  I never expected to be on the list but I was beyond surprised!  The music program was very well regarded, one of the best in Western Canada, how did I fit into that?

In grade 11 (1997) I figured I’d try out for the baseball team, I made that too!  Another thing that I was shocked with!  I was seriously lacking in self-confidence.  I figured eventually “What’s the worst that can happen?  I might as well give it a shot.”  Achieving those 2 things were both pretty cool to me.

That was the last year I played baseball.  Playing 3B on a city league team & my high school team, I ended up throwing my arm out.  It just ached all of the time.  As much as I would have liked to play the next year, I knew I was done, just when I got really good at striking out VERY consistently.  I had one single in my last 2 seasons!  My batting average must have been .008 over the last 2 years, that’s not a good average at all.  A decent average for a 3B is around .260 or more.  I played baseball from the age of 4 – 17 so 1984-1997.  By 1996 the pitching was too fast for me, good thing I knew how to field decently to play every day.

Those were my 2 hobbies.  That’s why I watch as much baseball as possible & know a bit about music.  I may listen to rock & metal quite a bit but I’m not against orchestral music or listening to one of the many Harry Connick Jr. albums I own.

I can’t tell you where this all comes from.  I come in here, in front of my computron & just write verbal diarrhea.  Whatever pops out.  Stream of consciousness, like one of my favourite books “The Catcher in the Rye”.  I haven’t read that in years.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

Since the release of “After Laughter” by “Paramore”, I’ve been on an intense Paramore kick, with all 5 of their albums.  This new one sounds completely different & there’s definitely a “Blondie” influence.  I’ve never been hooked on Blondie though.

Just wanted to show that I’m not the only one who hears a “Blondie” influence.

I went to see “The Proclaimers” last year at the casino.  I remember sitting there thinking to myself “I’m probably the only one here wearing a ‘Lamb of God’ T-Shirt that will be back here in 2 days to see ‘I Mother Earth”

With the Manchester bombing & all of the other garbage happening in this world, I’m thankful to wake up the next day, especially with Trump steering, arguably, the most powerful country on earth!  My thoughts go out to those in Manchester who went out to unwind & have a good time.

The world is a VERY UGLY place right now!  It’s only going to get better if we all work together.  Seems like there is hatred around every corner now.  Remember how some little picture said it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 10 or fewer to smile?  I say “Smile & Wave” more at people instead of frowning & shuffling on.  It’s an ugly “dirty world” out there, do what you can to help out someone, it doesn’t have to be a HUGE gesture.  Help an elder cross the street?

I feel sorry for the younger generation that will inherit this mess we’ve collectively screwed up.  At least we get a mood booster from Ellen Degeneres weekly!

Rockers react to the attack in Manchester

I totally agree with Randy Blythe, of Lamb of God! “..the human race must do better than this..”

I’m not against any religion or atheist, believe in whatever you choose or don’t believe at all.  What religious book are they reading?  What ‘God’ would tell followers to kill others?  Why do others have to conform to the same religion as the EXTREMISTS do?  Why aren’t the other religious followers of the same religion doing what the extremists are doing?

I’m not trying to take this latest attack lightly.  If you think about it ISIS are like the carnival game whack-a-mole. They pop up, mess with your day, and go back into hiding before you can get them.  Why?  Because members of ISIS know they did something wrong!

New ‘Stone Sour’ video!!!!!!!!!!!!  Album out June 30th

Apple Music playlist of recent rock releases.  I’ve got both “Highly Suspect” albums & a few on preorder at the moment.  “Stone Sour”, “Royal Blood”, & “Nothing but Thieves”.  I really like the “Muse” single as well.  I bought the single & attached it to my favourite Muse album or else I’d never listen to it as a standalone single.

Why so that there are more people to witness and be injured in a terrorist attack?  You need to think a step ahead of ISIS!  I don’t see adding more troops/security/police doing much unless they know what to look for.  Until our protectors change the game & get ahead, the same thing will continue to happen.   I’m not trying to say they aren’t doing as much as possible at the moment, but whoever they are, it’s time to change their/our approach.

Busy day, lots to do here.  Not much time for the computron or interweb today.  I’ll be on here later.  Mostly I’ll be watching the Blue Jay game today!
