I fell asleep to “Opeth” the album “Garden of the Titans” (Live at Red Rocks)

I exercised to “Anthrax” the album “Volume 8: The Threat is Real!”

I forgot to take my pills last night before I went to bed.  That happens once in a while.  The pills are in my system so it doesn’t screw me up for the day, I just wake up way too early.  So 3:45 am I was wide awake.  I tossed & turned trying to fall asleep, but no deal.  Kim’s alarm didn’t go off so we got up around 6:15 am.  I’ve had breakfast, exercised, showered & dressed.  The salesman we got my chair from is coming this morning to replace a handle on the back that broke off.

Please remember that I was basically in my own little world for 4.5 years.  I didn’t really get to ease in to all of this technology stuff.  For me it was “BAM!  Here’s a bunch of stuff you should learn to use yesterday!”  I

Yes, I recently got a fit bit.  My watch would stop, I’d reset it & it would be fine for about a week.  After doing that MANY times it died completely.  Kim took me to Best Buy.  I got a fit bit for $170 aka WAY TOO MUCH.  Should have gone to Walmart & bought a watch for $20.

We came home I opened the box & went to put it on my wrist, Kim stopped me.  Good grief, you have to download the software with a Bluetooth item.  Kim has a cell phone & an iPad.  Then it had to charge overnight.  I don’t have a mobile device.  If I did, I wouldn’t need a fit bit.  An iPad or cell phone would have the time on it.

If we had gone to a Walmart, they would have set the time for me & I’d put it on my wrist in the vehicle or in the store.  I don’t need to know how many steps I’ve taken, I’m in a wheelchair!  How is it deciding what a step is?  I found out in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center that my resting pulse was 98/minute.  Thanks for confirming that fit bit.

So now I have a watch that I have to swipe if I want to know the time.  Personally I think this is absolutely nuts, should have gone to a jeweler or a Walmart.  I’m not even 39 yet, but these hijinks & shenanigans are already driving me crazy (and that’s a very short drive)!

How is this an improvement on something so simple & ready to use at the point of purchase?  “Technology can’t screw up a watch”, oh yes it can!  Look what it did to phones!

All I need is a watch that will tell me the time.

How is a band like “The Killers” considered a rock band & getting coverage on Facebook from  No disrespect intended, I’m not a working musician or anywhere close to being one, but REALLY?

OK ______ now you’re ripping apart ‘System of a Down’, you’re done.  NEXT please!  So the drummer loves ______ but made a protest song against Bush Junior while he was in power?  I’ll take Bush Junior over _______ any day!

I went to Boston while Bush Jr. was President, now I’d really have to think about that.  Will this guy let me in?  Once I’m in will he let me out?

They have 5 studio albums out & 2 live albums out.  I have 1 studio album of theirs.  I checked out a few other albums but the guy’s voice just bothers me.  Nothing against him, he gets the notes, he has the vocal range, his voice just bothers me & I listen to some death metal.  Yes, they’re another Canadian rock band.  I just own their 2nd studio album.  The first studio album was HUGE when it was released but I wasn’t a fan.  I heard their first single for their 2nd album & thought “Hey, this song sounds really good!  WOW it’s Billy Talent!”  I usually like a bands entire catalogue, but this is one of the handful of musicians I can deal with owning one album from.  They’re not terrible by any means, just not a band for me.  I will say their guitar player does not make it easy for himself.

Please share this, I’m not profiting from this at all.  Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

I fell asleep to “ Stitched Up Heart” the debut album that I got last night at 12:00 am Eastern Time “Never Alone”

Falling asleep to an album isn’t the best way to hear or judge it. What I’ve heard I like & of course I’ll listen to it multiple times. It could be one of those albums I end up binge listening to?

I exercised to “Iron Maiden” the album “The Book of Souls”

Yes, this is also on facebook if you prefer.

If you’re following the blog on my personal Facebook page, could you please follow it on the link above? Just for me to keep track of subscribers. for email

Exercise total for the week ;7500 crunches, 710 leg lifts, 300 squats, & 250 push ups.

Everything stayed the same this week other than the leg lifts. They went up, then down, & I finally settled on 140 a day. I’ll stay at this plateau for a while. When they seem to easy to do, I’ll likely ad some yoga into the mix?

When I die, multiple decades in the future hopefully, please don’t remember me as “that guy who got cancer when he was 28”? Call me anything but that please, hero & victim don’t ever have to be in the conversation either?

When I was a kid, life was so simple. Recess, candy, colouring books, paint, even in University Rydell & I both thought we’d grow up, get a job & buy a new guitar once a month? Life’s not like that at all! Bills, mortgage payments, most people have kids, work or shift work, etc. As a kid I always thought “Ooo, I can’t wait to grow up & be filthy rich”. It so didn’t turn out that way!

Don’t get me wrong, life is great but in a different way! I get to live with my wonderful wife, I can watch baseball in my underwear (I did that at my parents house too), I can drink alcohol, coffee in the morning etc. It’s great, it’s different but it’s really good!

I was usually home from a day of work, in my underwear, drinking a beer & my younger brother, Mitch, would come home with a friend of his. Most of his friends met me that way. Beer, underwear, & reading an article on the computer in the living room in the basement. I think he got mad at me once & yelled at me once after someone had left? “CHRIS, WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS IN YOUR UNDERWEAR WITH A BEER WHEN I BRING SOMEONE OVER???” That’s just how I roll, I wasn’t going to put on a three piece suit just because my brother was coming home, he’s lucky I was wearing anything at all?

Now it’s just baseball on the TV maybe pants & alcohol during the weekend games or water & carrots or grapes?

Last night we went out for supper with Sherry & James. Left the now buzzed Brewster in their place since he makes too much noise & freak out when he’s here alone

I guess Lzzy Hale got a Metal Hammer Golden God award.

“I’m still flying high from last nights Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards! It was such an honor to perform and I am so humbled to be the first female to win the “Dimebag Darrell Shredder Of The Year” award. Thank you so much to everyone for your vote, and to all my fellow musicians and nominees for making me feel like the little sister of the rock and metal community.
Dimebag, even though you’ve left us, your legend lives on through those you touched along your journey. You continue inspire me to be the best guitarist I can be, and hold on to what makes me unique, because that’s how you lived your life. You were fiercely honest and unapologetic, which is the definition of Metal. This is why, alongside Lemmy and Dio, you are forever a golden god. I will treasure this award forever and I look forward to feeling your presence over my shoulder next time I go over my scales. Speaking of which… Time to go practice!!”

James Hetfield of Metallica is lending his voice to a series on Netflix

“Oh, my” how the music industry has changed!?!?

Bjork’s still around? Who’s buying or streaming her “music” as she calls it?

I don’t judge other people on what they listen to, but this is WAY out of left field!!!???? This is as mainstream as she ever got.

This is typical Bjork below.

I’ll confess in my very early 20s I threw in the towel when Disturbed released their 3rd album. Language in the video inside the link.

Still a few more albums to look forward to this year. Chevelle in July, Opeth & Alter Bridge in September or later this year, & maybe Third Ion & Into Eternity, then whatever other surprises show up?

Ellen proves if you’re a squeaky wheel, you’ll get the grease!

I loved “Finding Nemo” I have “no doubt” I’ll enjoy “Finding Dory”

I can’t say no to a good acoustic song!!!

What Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich, says the new album will sound like. Take this with a grain of salt. There’s a good chance he’ll say something completely different next week.
