Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

300 Curls w/ 20 pound dumb bells

180 Shoulder raises/Chest presses w/ 10 pound dumb bells

200 Crunches

200 Leg lifts

100 Squats while balancing on my toes.  (I fell…again…on Wednesday)

100 Back flexes

2 days of yoga

I fell asleep to “I Built The Sky” the album “The Zenith Rise”

I exercised to “Better Than Ezra” the album “Deluxe”

I didn’t do my job on Monday or Tuesday.  I did my weights & such on Wednesday, 15 minutes later my arms were shaking.  Tuesday was TERRIBLE!  I slept fine, woke up around 7:30 am, and wasted the day falling in & out of sleep until almost 1:00 pm.  Got up, had a bite to eat & then parked my lazy ass on the couch waiting to go back to bed.  Wednesday was better but not great.  Got up just after 8:00 am then proceeded to do anything but exercise until a bit after 11:00 am.

Thursday was GREAT!  Got everything done by 1:00 pm & finally felt comfortable playing guitar in a wheelchair, I played for 2:30 hours in the afternoon & about an hour in the evening!  Being comfortable and being in the proper position of upright made a world of difference.  Everything is much easier when I’m comfortable & relaxed!

I sat down on the couch with a coffee to watch the Canadian 24 hour news…WOW…just like every other news station “WERE ALL GONNA DIE”!  Yeah, I was surprised, actually SHOCKED, that Canada had enough news to fill 24 hours too!

Dearest broadcasters,

Please find anything else to broadcast other than Covid-19 stuff & re-runs.  I guarantee that your ratings will spike.

Sincerely,

A REALLY bored viewer

I really don’t even watch much TV as it is, & now that it’s only news & repeats I’ve almost forgotten that we have a TV.  With so many people dying from this virus, I gotta ask “Where did all the good people go?”  Who’s spreading this?  Is this Darwin’s sick & twisted theory of natural selection put into action?

I saw that the government is giving small business owners $2000/month for the next 4 months.  I’d take that for a year please?  This is pretty much a guarantee of NOT happening.  I’ll start saving my pennies & continue to cut back/eliminate other non-essential purchases though.  At the very least we’ll have a little more cash on hand!  Either way if I was to buy a guitar it would definitely be a VERY similar PRS.

SE Paul's Guitar - Aqua

Far more important financial matters to take care of.  I’ve got my 4 electric guitars, my acoustic, & 1 future electric.  It was ordered on January 15th & it was supposed to be here in April.  I got an email on March 2nd that it’s been delayed until August.  Can’t do anything about that or this Virus stuff that I’m sure will push it back more.  In the end, I’m getting a new guitar & I’d much rather have it made properly than get a guitar that’s been slapped together in a panic.

S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow Body Guitar w/Gig Bag - McCarty Sunburst

The weirdest thing about being isolated is that this is FAR TOO CLOSE to my daily life.  I exercise, talk to my dog, play guitar, bomb around this place in my wheelchair, watch a minimal amount of TV & go to bed.  Wake up &……REPEAT!  Everybody’s complaining about being quarantined for so long?  It’s been…what…2 weeks, try 6 or 7 years, 2 weeks of quarantine is nothing once you get used to it.

Well, to each their own I guess??  Good thing all of those multi thousand dollar guitar amplifiers didn’t have a good distortion channel so the purchase of a $120 effect pedal was needed (I had one….19 years ago).  I have an 8” speaker in my Roland Cube combo.  That pedal is fun to mess around with, for me it was nothing but a toy.  I’ve watched a TON of his videos & he seems to be a really good guy, this is just a matter of taste.

HE WAS LEARNING “GREEN DAY” ON THE PIANO AS A KID!  GOOD GRIEF I’M OLD!!!!!

“Nothing but Thieves” have an actual video now for their single off of what I assume to be a near future album.  Other than “Billie Eilish” they’re likely one of the very few ‘new’ (2015) bands I enjoy.

The new album “Gigaton” from “Pearl Jam” is out today.

MY FAVOURITE ALBUMS OF 2019 & A BREAKTHROUGH FOR ME

I fell asleep to “Queen” the album “A Day at the Races”

I exercised to “Black Sabbath” the album “Heaven & Hell”

I had a list of albums that I grabbed this year, & it disappeared.  These are the albums of the year that stuck with me & are VERY memorable for me.  When I say “metal” do me a favour & don’t freak out about the vocals.  I don’t think I bought an album this year with ‘growling’ or ‘screaming’ on it.  A lot of metal vocalists are very well trained at their craft, even the ‘screamers’ out there.  It’s hard to do that.

I’m sure there were more albums that I bought, but these are the ones that caught my attention the most.

PLEASE REMEMBER THESE ARE JUST THE ALBUMS THAT I HEARD & LIKED.  FEEL FREE TO VOICE YOUR OPINION ON ANY MATTER HERE!

“Opeth” the album “In Cauda Venenum”

Yeah it’s a progressive rock/metal/soft-rock album from the Swedish group.

“P!nk” the album “Hurts 2B Human”

You know who she is more than likely.  I do like her previous release “Beautiful Trauma” a bit more, but there was nothing wrong with this one!

“Dream Theater” the album “Distance Over Time”

Progressive metal out of the USA, no this guy doesn’t growl or scream.  He’s a classically trained singer.  Usually someone says “metal” and everyone else freaks out about the vocals being scary.

“Alter Bridge” the album “Walk the Sky”

Based in Florida.  6th album & living in Western Canada, I’ll never see them live.  I think they’ve done the Montreal & Toronto tour twice since 2004.

“I Built the Sky” the album “The Zenith Rise”

Instrumental metal that REALLY shocked me, in a good way.  I’ve never heard anything like it and this is their 5th release.  I’ve got this album & I’d like to get 2 other albums by them.

“TOOL” the album “Fear Inoculum”

The only reason this wasn’t my favourite album of the year was that it’s just SO long.  “TOOL” is a band that you listen to & focus on nothing else, like most music is meant to be heard.  There are so many layers to this album & 6/10 songs are well over the 10 minute mark.  I’ve only had time to focus on it once.  It’s not an album full of singles either, it’s an album.  “Fear Inoculum” is roughly 7 minutes longer than their 1999 album “Lateralus”.  The difference is that “Lateralus” has 13 songs opposed to 10 on “Fear Inoculum”.  I can listen to 7 songs on “Lateralus”, come back later & listen to the rest.  I don’t like doing that with “Fear Inoculum”, I want to listen to it from start to finish with no separation.  I don’t have 1 ½ hours to focus on an album every week?

“In Flames” the album “I, The Mask”

Another Swedish metal band.  If you want to call these vocals “screamy” go ahead.  They’re called a “Swedish melodic death metal band” emphasis on the ‘melodic’ portion though.  He sings with an odd tone.

“Big Wreck” the album “…but for the sun”

I thought this was just my favourite “Big Wreck” album, turns out it’s one of my favourite albums of all time by a Canadian band not well known outside of Canada.  They’re a rock band & if you’ve never turned on a rock radio station in Canada or if you’ve lived under a rock since the late 1990s, you’ve never heard of them.

Honourable mentions. Billie Eilish’s “When we all fall asleep, where do we go?”, “Of Monsters & Men” the album “Fever Dream”, Mark Morton “Anesthetic”, & “Jimmy Eat World” the album “Surviving”.

As for future out of province concerts, I’m going to scale that WAY back.  Too much money I don’t have.  There had better be a show in Calgary, Alberta or Winnipeg, Manitoba & no more than 2 out of province shows a year, if that.  Hopefully there are more shows here in Regina or 2 ½ hours away in Saskatoon.  I’ll go to Moose Jaw (45 minutes away) if they ever get an act that intrigues me.

“Paramore” news…

YAY!

What else to expect in 2020?  Chevelle, Lamb of God, Megadeth, The Pretty Reckless, Stone Temple Pilots, Into Eternity, Third Ion, Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Testament, Trivium, and more?  Most of these are rumored releases.

HOLY SMOKES!!!!  “Stone Temple Pilots” already have a preorder for their acoustic album “Perdida” for full release on February 7th.

25th anniversary for “Foo Fighters” & from the looks of their Facebook page they’re recording or might have already?

Gave my guitars a good workout yesterday.  After 3 ½ months of 45 minutes to 3 hours a day, 5-6 days a week I’m pretty much back to where I was on guitar when I got sick.  6 Foo Fighters songs down, added in parts I’ve never attempted, very close on 2 Metallica songs, a few other simple songs down, new chords, a handful of other riffs too.  All rhythm & hooks, I’ve never played guitar solos.  Feels so gratifying!!!!!!!  I forgot how much I missed it!  You have no idea how happy I am with this!!!!!!  I was so happy I almost broke down with tears of joy!!!  Just a few seconds behind the real tempo but just a little more polishing to do.

I’ll figure out how to put some videos on here.  Something you should know first though.  I LOATHE photos, videos, and audio recordings of myself.  Take the amount you don’t like them of yourself and multiply that by 100,000,000,000 and you’ll be almost where I am.  It probably won’t happen often, especially since I don’t own a phone or any type of camera.

Well, exercise is done for the day so that means perfecting a few songs on the guitar until… “Star Wars” Episode 9 tonight with my pop!  He got me into this mess with VHS, now I’m getting us out of this mess at the theater!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer? Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “The Darkness” the album “One Way Ticket to Hell…and Back”

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “…but for the sun”

I wrote it many times & didn’t like it & had no desire to put it into the world.

Brewster is doing well. He still has about a week & a ½ of medication to go. He rarely goes into a coughing fit. It’s down to about twice a day instead of every 30 minutes. I’m glad & pleasantly surprised at how much better he’s doing. He did end up costing us about $1000 this month for his tests & medication so we’ve had to make some changes to afford his vet bill.

There’s no such thing as a wheelchair accessible house on the market right now in our price range in Regina, so as far as I’m concerned that’s an impossibility at the moment. I’m not getting either one of the guitars I chose, since the funds aren’t there & likely won’t be for a while. Those two things I’m good with more importantly Kim & Brewster are healthy.

What I do not like is that I’m now streaming music, instead of purchasing my music. It’s suffering enough that some rock & metal musicians are making less than me & that’s flat out legal stealing to me. It’s legal so do what you want. For me I’m listening to music I own as well as “I don’t care” & “Who gives a crap, its disposable”. I’m over the fact that we won’t have nice stuff for a few years. Streaming music for me is the work of the Devil. “You paid $10,000 to make this album? Here’s a check for $2.50 this month” that’s just stupidity at its best. I hope whoever isn’t making money from streaming music pulls it from every digital platform and releases it only on physical platforms, CDs, vinyl & even cassette tapes. I have music on my iPod that I like & I have 12 disposable albums I don’t own and feel bad when I listen to it. If music becomes nothing but streaming online or if Apple doesn’t become a respectable music label. I’ll go straight to physical formats that I can own instead of ‘rent’. With that being said there will be little to no new music being purchased or streamed until after Christmas, yeah I loathe streaming music that much. If I can’t buy it, I might as well listen to the radio here!  I’d rather have the cash for gifts for others than listen to rented music.

As for the PRS guitar, it’s too expensive right now the limited edition Matt Heafy 7 string Epiphone is also expensive but not as much. A guitar around that much plus tax had better be perfect. The Epiphone 7 string will be the runner up for many years if not forever. For now I’ll look at the links I’ve book marked. It’s not like I’m a guitar virtuoso yet or before, I’m starting at square one, but I know too much, if that makes sense. I don’t NEED either one, I just WANT them, big difference between NEED & WANT! I’ve decided on a colour to stare at, McCarty Sunburst for the PRS guitar. Now I can “…dream in colour…”

All of the changes we’ve made are out of necessity & I’m good with that, we can afford Christmas gifts for others. That’s important to me. What would I like for Christmas? Money for a wheelchair accessible house in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada that currently is not on the market. Better yet buy our house for the asking price & find us a place to move into? If we lived in the area of Buffalo, New York & were looking to spend the same amount of American money, we could afford a large house outside of the city that’s wheelchair accessible??!!??!!?? That’s what I get for watching HGTV!
Billie Eilish & TOOL had bigger debuts on the charts than Kanye. Does this mean anything? I see it as just numbers, not a trend, but that’s just me.

Neil Young walks to the beat of his own drummer. Turns down millions to play ‘Harvest’ that he wrote. He should be allowed to play what he wants if you ask me!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total;  00 leg lifts, 00 crunches, 00 squats, 00 back flexes, 0 pushups, 200 curls (10 pounds), 00 tricep extensions (7 pounds), 50 shoulder raises (7 pounds).  Stretching & TONS of yoga.

I fell asleep to “Of Monsters & Men” the album “Fever Dream”

THE FOLLOWING IS A PITY PARTY, THEN A REALIZATION AT THE END.

Not the greatest of weeks.  Our dream house was sold officially as of Tuesday evening.  I got the link update Wednesday morning.  I spent Monday evening & Tuesday evening worrying about it & stayed up to late.  Felt better as Thursday went on.  There was a viewing of our place Thursday, which is great, but if anyone makes an offer, where do we go?  Regina’s not a big city & something accessible for me seems to be a rarity at best.  We took the viewing time to see another house (just the neighbourhood & the outside) in an area that’s nice, but so far away from every other part of the city!

I’ve been trying to educate myself for the federal election on Monday.  The more I dig, the more I realize why I haven’t voted in 21 years.  I watched the federal debate twice which was oh so uninformative.  It was pretty much me & the candidates at a bar for an evening at the end it felt like “Well, we’re the last 2 people here, I guess you’re it”.  I’m sorry but 6 candidates to choose from & not one of them has EARNED my vote.  I’ll vote since I said I will, but I’d much rather continue to exercise my right not to vote!  MAYBE I’ll vote again………….in 21 years.  Waste of my time & energy.  “Let’s promise the moon to everyone, then pretend we never said that”.  I don’t know of an elected politician that has followed through on what became empty promises.  Somebody please prove me wrong after this election?

Kim’s teeth are done & she’s happy with them.  Now the bill.  Then Brewster’s tests & medication.  Then Christmas gifts to purchase.

So I’ve spent this week stressing HARD about all of this, mostly finding a wheelchair accessible house, which seems hopeless.

I haven’t felt like eating or working out this week so far.  What am I looking forward to this week?  Watching the Rider game on TV tonight that’s in B.C. Other than that “I’m broken” for now.

I may be down now, but Monday is the start of a new week!

How I’m feeling as of Thursday night & even more so Friday morning.  Instead of stepping back & looking at a big picture of overwhelming stuff, I took a step closer.  I saw one thing at a time.  I can chip away at things one by one & clear up all of this one thing at a time.

The election will be over on Monday, after that we can focus on Brewster’s health.  While doing that we’ll look for a house.  Through all of this I’ll get back into my smaller routine of exercising daily.  There will be interruptions but that’s life.  Ideally we’d be moving into our new house by mid-November, but it’s been purchased, we can’t change that, just move on & keep doing our thing.

If you’re of age & not easily offended I hope you’ve seen “Deadpool”, if not you’re WAY too late!  Since the 3rd Deadpool could be in the beginning stages!?

Sell out or don’t, as long as you’re happy with where you are & how you got there & didn’t forget the people that helped you get there, be happy but humble!

My last 2 album purchases before Christmas are released today.  “Alter Bridge” & “Jimmy Eat World”.  I know I’ll be listening to a TON of “Alter Bridge”, “TOOL”, “Big Wreck”, “In Flames”, “Billie Eilish”, etc. for the rest of the year!  There was a TON of great music that was released this year & it’s only mid-October!

P.S. I had to pick up a prescription this morning for my bladder infection, that’s why this is a bit late.  Back from the doctor, no bladder infection I have to “retrain” my bladder.  I needed some refills on other medications too.

Music throughout the weekend.  “Trivium X 2”, “Metallica”, “Lamb of God”, “In Flames”, “Of Men & Monsters”, & “Opeth”

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent Friday night watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders lose first place to the Calgary Stampeders in Calgary 28-30.  2 beer and a rum on the rocks, I’m a lightweight now that I drink pretty much water & nothing else.  Kim’s not a football fan & went to bed just before 9:00 pm, game started at 7:30 pm.

Saturday we spent the day mostly cleaning out our storage room, I don’t know how many bins Kim took to donate to Value Village, we have a few more items to send their way still.  I found a TON of clothes that didn’t fit & now do, donated some & have some to keep & add to my wardrobe of sport & concert T-Shirts.

Found some vinyl albums for a friend of mine.  I don’t own a record player.  So he might as well use them.  My Grandfather bought them at garage sales for $1 & let me grab a few for free.  I have a few as well.  Some good stuff I didn’t realize I had on vinyl…

I personally HATE the idea of streaming music.  I prefer to own my music.  That being said, I do stream things until I can afford to buy them on iTunes or the odd CD.  I need to cut back on streaming music, I have 10 streaming albums at the moment that I’m waiting to purchase.  If you like streaming music, go for it!  Here are a couple of albums on my list to purchase…..

Haven’t had the official word yet, but it looks like our affordable, wheelchair accessible, dream home is sold & gone.  I’m pretty bummed out about that, no silver lining here really.  I do hope the new owners can use all of the wheelchair accessible features that have been added.  Sucks for us but there’s nothing we can do.  Kim wanted it bad & I grew to want it even more.  We’ll get the official word on Tuesday though.

Saturday night we watched “Spider-man Far From Home” on blu-ray.  Kim was spooked by all of the surround sound that kicked in.

Sunday I stayed out of Kim’s way.  She cleaned, did laundry, went grocery shopping, then made supper.  I don’t think my cleaning/maintaining was quite up to par after the “Monthly Spring Cleaning Event” that took place today?  She was on a mission!  I guess my maintaining helped somewhat this was “Monthly” instead of the typical “Weekly Spring Cleaning”.

Thanksgiving Monday, we’re off to the McDonald’s house hold.  We’ll have our Thanksgiving with good friends!  Close enough to call family.  Thangs giving with our “niece” & “nephew”.  We’re “auntie” & “uncle” to a few kids.

Don’t get me wrong here.  I love dressing & gravy, potatoes & roasted fowl aren’t for me.  If I never see a baked or mashed potato again that would be fine.  A roasted bird needs to be either a pulled chicken, barbequed something, or chicken wings.  Turkey or chicken are acceptable in a bun or thinly sliced deli meat.  I’ll eat a roasted bird but it’s FAR from anything I’d consider making!

Great meal this evening & YAY no turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Roasted ham, smoked chicken, string bean & tomato salad, onions & cheese, marshmallow fluffy salad, etc.  I managed to stay away from the dressing, potatoes, & pie.  Potatoes can cause me to gag, and it was that way before cancer too.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 900 leg lifts, 1,200 crunches, 100 squats, 300 back flexes, 50 pushups, 400 curls (10 pounds), 250 tricep extensions (7 pounds), 200 shoulder raises (7 pounds).  Stretching & yoga.

I had to hold back on the squats this week.  There’s a nagging minor pain in my back.  Squats seem to make it worse, back flexes strengthen the muscles.  Ended up being a disappointing week, exercise wise, for me.

I fell asleep to “The Beatles” my favourite album of theirs, many FANTASTIC songs, “Blackbird”, Ob-la-di ob-la-da”, “Back in the USSR”, “While my guitar gently weeps”, “Happiness is a Warm Gun”, etc. but this is my favourite below.  I saw, Canadian rock band “Our Lady Peace” play this song in concert in 1998 & that was it.

I exercised to “Devin Townsend” the album “Empath”

The other place is now an afterthought.  They have an offer, negotiated a price & now all we can do is sit & wait.  This could be over by October 11th, sooner, or if a miracle occurs we’ll get another shot?  I was bummed yesterday & didn’t bother to even exercise.

Today, it’s time to move on & keep doing our thing.  I’m looking at it as one less thing to worry about & the biggest thing I don’t need to worry about.  I worried myself sick on Wednesday & was crushed on Thursday.  Now the stomach nerves are gone.  Just keep swimming!

I could sit here & complain but I don’t have time for that & there’s already enough people complaining about other issues.  Much like my exercise, which I do a TON of, I want to be better at guitar than I was before.  What will fix both of these issues?  Practice & proper repetition.

I’m listening to more of The Beatles lately since I’m relearning, from memory for the most part, how to play the song “Blackbird” on guitar.  I’m throwing in finger picking chords in the wrong place.  I ended up caving & went to a guitar tab site.  I can’t read music anymore, haven’t been able to since 1998 or so.  After I graduated high school.

In 2001 I got my first guitar & taught myself on the internet after learning most of the proper chords from a guitar book laying around that my mother owned.

I looked at the tab, & WOW, no wonder I forgot the order of stuff after almost 12 years.  I’m surprised I remembered all of the chords after an ABI, Acquired Brain Injury.  I’ve got a TON of practicing & memorizing to do.

I’ll “slow it down” a bit for now & focus on my technique for now & just a few songs!

I exercise for a couple of hours, write this up, play guitar for WAY too long & somewhere in there I eat, shower, & snack/eat throughout the day.  Kim comes home & whips up a tasty meal, then I clean up.

She’s working at another job to make some extra cash right now (Every year).  While she’s doing that or watching something on TLC, that’s not “Dr. Pimple Popper”, I’ll either grab a guitar or see what all of the news is on Facebook.

Not as much music being played through the stereo here lately.  It’s more of me practicing guitar.  I’ve still only listened to the TOOL album in its entirety twice.  It’s been more of 1 or 2 songs here & there, long album!

I get to use my ticket at the Saskatchewan Roughriders game this weekend WOO HOO!

There are screwed up people EVERYWHERE.  A fan goes to any type of concert to have fun, not to get stabbed!  Why are people like this?

I like Slayer to a point.  Mood music that actually calms me down & usually just 2 albums out of 12 or 15?  “Reign in Blood” & “Seasons in the Abyss”.

I’m a rock/metal fan but I do like other stuff.  I like Ed Sheeran, even saw him in concert here.  As for the Grammy Awards, I’m all in for Billie Eilish’s album & Lizzo’s album “Cuz I Love You” featuring the song “Juice”.  I have the Billie Eilish album, the Lizzo album is great but I can’t see myself listening to it often?

Any “Joker” movie shouldn’t be funny.  The character is a psychopath.

OPETH   “IN CAUDA VENENUM”

A progressive everything band rock, metal, orchestral, & ambient music.  Based in Sweden.  This album is available in English & Swedish.  I think this is the first album they’ve made available in Swedish as well as English?  Not sure, they have a LARGE back catalogue.  This album is more of a progressive rock album, but not for the average rock fan.  This is progressive, not an album you can tap your foot to the beat.  The last few albums have been very light, music wise compared to the death metal growling from previous releases.  They’ve been rather odd with weird keyboard & more atmospheric music.

This album certainly isn’t a metal album, but maybe I’m jaded?  This seems far more along the lines of a hard rock album, no screaming but definitely aggressive music in odd time signatures.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 900 leg lifts, 1,200 crunches, 300 squats, 300 back flexes, 150 pushups, 800 curls (10 pounds), 500 tricep extensions (7 pounds), 400 shoulder raises (7 pounds).  Stretching & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Opeth” the new album “In Cauda Venenum”

I exercised to “Billie Eilish” the album “When we all Fall Asleep, Where do we go?”

I’ve recently (month & a bit ago) resumed playing/practicing my guitar limited skills after somewhere around 11 years.  I was always a singer first though.  A guitar on stage was something I picked up to hide behind.  I wasn’t a metal growler or screamer, I was a singer.  No, my friends & I are not famous anywhere unless you’ve been to a handful of watering holes in Regina.

It was a hobby that I really enjoyed, outside of dragging my gear home at 2:00 am.  I play at home now with a much smaller amplifier & pedal system.  I have three 6 string electric guitars & an acoustic guitar.  I never purchased any of my electric guitars.

My first guitar ever was an electric my parents bought me for my 21st birthday.  I learned a bit prior to that on my mother’s old acoustic guitar so I could help my friend learn bass.  I’ve never taken a guitar lesson, I’ve played piano when I was 8 & 9 years old, flute from grade 6-10 & high school choir from grade 10-graduation.

I just picked up the guitar initially to help our cover band’s bass player out.  He had never done anything musically before, so I did what I could along with 2 other friends to help him out.

My 2nd guitar I bought for myself, my acoustic guitar.  I play it when I’m too lazy to go the extra 10’ to plug in an electric guitar to my amplifier.

My wife bought me my 3rd guitar for our first Christmas as boyfriend & girlfriend.  She wanted to learn so I bought her a blue acoustic guitar for the same Christmas, she specified the colour.

My 4th guitar I got from a very good friend of mine while I was recovering in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center from stage 4 brain cancer.  It is signed by “Big Wreck” singer Ian Thornley.  Other than my Epiphone Explorer my wife bought me, this is the only popular brand name guitar I own, made by Fender guitars.

There would be no point in me having three 6 string electric guitars in the same tuning, so all 3 of them are in different tunings for a reason.

I remember the majority of the guitar parts I played in my first/cover band so that’s where I started.  More fun to play a song as I build up the strength in my fretting hand/left hand.

I’ve also been watching quite a few guitar clinics online to learn new songs.  All of this gives me something else to look forward to the next day other than just exercise.  I’ve gotten stronger, & now I can do more things, around the house, for my wife, our now old dog, my friends, & myself.

The way I see it is, if I’m not a part of the solution, I’m a part of the problem.

She said it much more eloquently than I would have!  Well done & I couldn’t agree more!

Wait a minute……………..I’ll be 40 in January.  I’m a Muse fan & a Rush fan.  Are they talking about me?

I saw this earlier this week.  I’m out of touch with the hip cool thing, oops!  First time I’ve heard them.  Haven’t decided if I’d purchase this yet?

GOO GOO DOLLS

90s alternative radio acceptable “rock” band.  Acoustic based rock band.  From the USA.  They appeared on quite a few movie soundtracks during the late 90s & early 2000s.  Can’t say I listen to them much anymore but I do own a Greatest Hits album.  I did own a couple of their CDs back in the day.  I have no problem with them, it’s just not my go to music.
