Welcome back to the program!  You’re here so if you like what you see, might as well subscribe?  Either on Facebook or with your email in the bottom right corner, it’s really that easy & it’s free!  I know you want to tell your friends, go ahead!

Friday I went to the local music store to pick up my friends guitar.  I wasn’t comfortable doing some of the repairs, so I dropped it off there Nov. 5th.  It’s here sitting in a rack with 2 of my guitars.  My brother had a 5 guitar floor stand our band would use when we played live.  Bass player, my brother, & I would all bring 2 instruments to a live show, different tunings & it’s reassuring to have a backup if something goes wrong live.

That afternoon Kim rearranged the desks in our computer room now that we’ve sold the big DVD/Blu-ray shelf to a friend of ours.  It feels much bigger in here.  I played guitar for a bit on Friday afternoon but not much.

Kim was working all day on Saturday.  She got groceries Sunday morning & worked until 9:00 pm that night.

I stayed out of her way Saturday and played guitar most of the day.  That evening I watched a “Foo Fighters” live stream concert for $15.  Not the same as seeing them live but it also didn’t cost me $90.  Only 1:30 hour long instead of the usual 2:45 – 3:30 hour long live show, still a good deal.

They kicked off the show with a song I’ve been working on which I will have ready to go by the time you read this.  I was practicing this song & whatever else I could think of that I know and learned the next song over the course of a quick look on Sunday & a couple of hours Monday.  I surprised myself in a good way!

I HIGHLY recommend “Marty Music” on www.youtube.com if you want to learn a song on guitar, if the tab doesn’t sound right & you can’t figure it out.  He’s the man to go to!  There are no tabs for “Audioslave” or “Rage Against the Machine” music, but good ol’ Mart Music has lessons for some of them.

Then I practiced ‘Monkey Wrench’ and when I needed a break I played other songs I know in that tuning.

Learned a mode to use on guitar.  A mode is basically a different way of using a scale for minor & major sounds from what I understand.  I now know the major & minor pentatonic scale and the Dorian mode to a point.  I’ll just call it the DeLorean mode.  #BacktotheFuture kids watch it!

I’m watching a guy on youtube complaining about the amplifier I’m hoping to get next year.  I’m looking at the “Boss Katana 50W MK2” which has been out for a while.  He’s complaining that he bought the “Boss Katana 50W MK1”.  He bought the first version shortly before the second version was released.  It’s a digital/analogue amplifier, a hybrid.  They’ve already released 5 firmware updates on the 2nd version, if I want to I can connect it to my computer to update it to the latest version.

Essentially he’s complaining about everything being digital now instead of analogue.  I get it, but I no longer see any reason to complain about everything going digital.  I didn’t buy a cell phone because of many reasons including that it’s digital & will continue to require updates.

Why would I want a digital/analogue amplifier then?  Well I have no intention of connecting it to the internet.  There’s already 4 amplifier settings to choose out of 10 built into the amplifier & 5 effects to choose out of 15 for each amplifier setting.  I really don’t care if it’s the latest & greatest technology.  I just want it to work, sound decent, and keep it easy to use.  I’m far from a technological wizard.  My phone works, it makes phone calls.  My email & social media work, they send messages.  The amplifier comes with a bunch of digital options I likely won’t use.

I used to have “FOMO”, Fear of Missing Out.  Too expensive to keep up with the Joneses.  If I’m missing out so be it, I don’t know what I’m missing out on & for me, in this situation, ignorance is bliss.

I was planning to return to buying CDs for music from around 15 bands.  I realized that CDs are often $5-$20 more than iTunes.  I scaled my CD purchases for the future down to 6 bands, a few from iTunes, & a lot of streaming from now on or some bands are retired or I’m just not that interested in anymore.

Guess I’m carrying on with the thinking of “Marie Kondo”, does this bring me joy?  Kim, Brewster, Friends & Family, Guitars, Music, a bit of TV, & a few movies.  Downsizing to the important things, not a lot of storage for other stuff here.  If it’s not seasonal & hasn’t been used in 6 months, why do I need to keep it?

I’m hopeful that the PRS S2 McCarty 594 will be my final guitar purchase.  I’m a sucker for any brand of guitar that sounds & is wired like a Les Paul guitar.  The PRS S2 is made to sound like a 1959 Gibson Les Paul & that’s my reason for getting it.  Its $1000 less than a Gibson reissue too & price is a factor.  Of course I have back up ideas, but nothing concrete.  I likely won’t even have this guitar until late next year if I order it between February-May.  There’s a 6 month wait once the order is placed.  I’ll have to hear what I have after I get the amplifier in 2022 before I even start considering an inexpensive guitar.

I have a Fender Thinline & I’ll have 2 PRS S2 guitars, I can’t afford any other expensive guitar brands.  Gibson, Jackson, Ibanez, Kiesel, ESP, Charvel, Schecter, etc. are out money wise.  If I want to look for another guitar, Kim might hurt me &/or whatever guitar related stuff will come out of my own pocket, not our cash together.

A Core PRS “Paul’s guitar” would be nice, but it’s not wired like Les Paul.  A “Mark Tremonti” Core PRS is basically a Les Paul in looks & wiring.  Either way both are far beyond what I’d ever spend on a guitar.  I really like PRS guitars, but even they’re most affordable SE line is too expensive for me.

I stayed up until midnight.  Kim was watching “Dancing with the Stars” so I came in here and chatted with one of our friends.  I went back to the living room to hang out with, still watching ‘Dancing with the Stars’, she said she was going to bed after the show since it was already 11:00 pm.  I came back in here to shut down my computron.  Ended up [laying guitar unplugged until midnight.  Random scales & songs from memory.

As for what I’m listening to these days, still the Nothing but Thieves album ‘Moral Panic’.  I’m also listening to the new Sevendust album ‘Blood & Stone’.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

I fell asleep to “Finger Eleven” the Self-Titled album

I exercised to “Pink” the album “Hurts 2B Human”

Kim is done with her teeth now.  YAY, dentist bill.  The hits just keep on coming.  She was still numb from the freezing on Monday & crashed in bed with Brewster.  Next, some tests for Brewster’s heart murmur, then whatever medication he needs.  Now we are actively house hunting.  I just lay in bed & see $$$$$ floating away, then Christmas is coming

Brewster has been surprisingly active lately up & about, wandering around & wanting to play.  He’s been sleeping 23 ½ hours a day the past year & a bit.

I’m currently dealing with a bladder infection.  No pain since I drink so much water.  When I have to pee though, get out of the way because I’ll burst within a minute.  Because of this I’ve had to cut back on my fluid intake lately.

Another blood test coming up to see if I require one of my medications.  I’m guessing I’ll still need that medication as time goes on.  Then I see the cancer doctor next year sometime again.  MRI first & then the appointment.  She was suspended, not fired.  I hope she learned how to treat patients?  MRI & that appointment are the last 2 things I look forward to doing now.

I’m fine, how long do we have to treat me like a crystal ornament?  Will I be safer if I’m wrapped in bubble wrap?  This is getting old, & I have other things to do.  How about I get checked out when something feels off?  I’ll go in annually for a blood test & an MRI, if the doctors see something they don’t like, then I’ll go.  That would work better for me.  I could spend that time exercising, cooking, practicing guitar, hanging out with friends, visiting their kids, cleaning, get a job, etc.

I’m getting REALLY tired of people treating me like a rare jewel, can I be a normal guy for ½ a second?  Sometimes I feel smothered.  Which can be both a blessing & a curse.  I can’t clear my throat twice in a row without at least 3 people asking me if I’m OK.  If I cough more than once, HOLY CRAP I must be dying!  I get it, but it’s annoying.  It’s been going on since I left my rehabilitation program July of 2012.

Here comes Halloween.  13 musicians/groups that actually scared people.

I’ve never been scared at a concert.  The most entertaining ‘Shock Rocker’ show I’ve ever seen was Rob Zombie.  Alice Cooper was more about the music than shocking people when I saw him 15 years ago.

New video from The Struts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More importantly how is James Hetfield’s alcohol rehab going?

I can’t believe this album is 25 years old!  That means I’m getting old!  I was in “grade 9” at the time.

Yes, I still listen to them.  I still like to hear horns on a rock album, same deal with Bruce Springsteen.  That’s a very rare sound on almost any album.  I’ve got a TON of Huey Lewis & The News” albums, so I won’t put a song from each album.  They release a new album last week, no I didn’t get it.  It’s just not the same.

Seems like keyboards/synthesizers are making a comeback on rock albums now too.  I’m good with keyboards as long as they don’t go full on “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.

Anyways, here’s some of “Huey Lewis & The News” Hits from back in the day.

From the movie “Back to the Future” check it out kids.  Legendary trilogy!

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total; 000 pushups, 200 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 0 tricep lifts, 300  squats, 200 back flexes.  Yoga & stretching for just over an hour on Tuesday & Thursday.  No arm stuff this week, those muscles are incredibly sore.

I fell asleep to “Pink” the album “Hurts 2B Human”

I exercised to “Metallica” the album “Master of Puppets”

Please know that I wasn’t an angry monster this entire time?  I bawled a lot while in the WRC, my frustration & anger got to the point where I’d send any random person that didn’t agree with me a nasty email or private message.  The frustration, anger, & stress took over again in late April.  As for now I’m feeling better by just admitting publically that it’s all on me.  I can’t wait to see a professional & start dealing with my issues, & having so many people not tip-toe around me in case I blow up.  I was never that person before & I REALLY don’t want to be that person again, EVER!

I may exercise quite a bit, so the physical side of cancer can easily be worked on.  The mental side I’ll have to have assistance with.

I had a routine Cancer Clinic appointment late Wednesday morning.  Different Doctor that has never seen me before.  My doctor is away until this summer.  No cancer & nobody called me fat!

The doctor asked what I did for exercise since it came up.  I told him part of my workout schedule & he just stopped me & said “Well now I feel bad”.  I told him it wasn’t that big of a deal, I don’t have a job, therefor I have all the time in the world to exercise.

He went on to say that many people who get cancer often wonder “Why me”?  I did that for quite a while until I realized & wrote this before, “Why not me”?  I’d rather be on the inside of the story than on the outside looking in & wondering/worrying if things will workout?

22 years ago on May 20th 1997, Foo Fighters released “The Colour & the Shape”.  The next, 3rd, album “There is Nothing Left to Lose” inspired me to pick up a guitar & teach myself how to play it.

What will be coming out this year & is already recorded!  Alter Bridge, Big Wreck, Chevelle, Sum 41, & Tool, so they say.  Here are the tracks these bands have released from their new albums.

Why is Hollywood continuing to feed us reboots?  It wasn’t a musical before for a reason!

The best of “Lamb of God”?  I already have all of their albums?

Long article/interview with Ozzy Osbourne

This group is more of a side project for the 5 musicians that are already in different bands.  Guitarist Scott Ian from “Anthrax”, the 2 lesser known members of “Fall Out Boy”, the 2nd guitarist & drummer.  A singer & bassist that don’t ring a bell for me.  They released their 2nd album at the end of April.  WOW sophomore slump.  The first album was great, nothing like the 2nd album at all.  I don’t like calling out a band on a bad album.  I preordered it so that’s on me.  Neither of their albums are really metal, they’re more of a hard rock vibe to them.  I’ll give 2 songs from each album.  Maybe the 2nd album will grow on me?

This month is kicking my butt.  I don’t know why but each day feels like I’m doing everything slow?  Not enough hours in the day?

I made a new rule for myself absolutely nothing until the exercises are done.  I asked Kim to wake me up before she went into the bathroom to get ready for work.  I got up, & had finished doing 100 squats before she left for work at 7:00 am.  I finished my exercises, showered & I’m having my juice, coffee, & water (3 liters of water is the normal amount for me a day, probably why I pee so much?)

Yesterday we had a power outage for about 45 minutes in the morning.  Brewster has bad anxiety & started trembling as soon as the power went off & I was feeling lazy, which seems to be the common trend lately?  I did all 4 of my exercises.  2 of which I only squeaked out half of the amount.  I don’t like that, I get disappointed when that happens.

I got 100%, how many can you get?  I found this pretty easy.

Chuck Berry celebrated his 90th birthday by releasing his first album in 38 years!

I’m rooting for “Pearl Jam” and why aren’t “The Cars” already in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame?

Cool rock posters.

I have but 2 posters framed in my man cave.  “Alter Bridge” which came with the special boxset (3,200 made) with 3 out of 4 signatures, & a “Foo Fighters” poster with 4 of 5 autographs.  Just missing Mark Tremonti & Pat Smear.

From what I can tell, it looks as though “Paramore” has 2 more guitar tracks to finish on their new album.  I’m guessing vocals & mixing to follow?

I haven’t decided if I like “Pop Evil”?  I haven’t really given them a chance yet either so….to be continued.

Radio interview with Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge

So I guess “Pearl Jam” didn’t get in the Hall of Fame.  Oh well?

In Flames shared it….

Third of 4 albums I have on preorder.  November 18 is probably my last day of the year for purchasing music from iTunes.  The release of the “Highly Suspect” 2nd album.  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Paramore” all 4 albums on shuffle! These are 1 song from each album. These are the popular songs that you might have heard? Paramore isn’t extremely popular, I didn’t want to leave anyone in the dark.

I know I’ve had the meat sweats before but Thursday evening was terribly uncomfortable. Kim wanted to stay in & not really do anything for her birthday. So we watched TV & ordered from Boston Pizza. I had the bacon double cheese burger & started sweating profusely half way through the burger. I eat healthy usually but on special occasions or if we go out (which is rare) I make it count. I don’t think a diet is logical. Eat healthy, binge on occasion, & just keep in mind what you eat without going overboard, & exercise for 15-90 minutes a day. At least that’s what I do! Could be wrong but I’m not giving up any food long term. I’ll eat a burger again, just not in the near future.

If the Blue Jays win tonight with David Price starting, Saturday evening/game 7 should be less stressful with Marcus Stroman pitching. David Price is likely among the top 3 pitchers in the game, but he hasn’t had much success in the playoffs. Marcus Stroman may be young (24 or 25) but he is the best pitcher the Blue Jays have at the moment, that’s why I think tonight will be more stressful than Saturday. If they lose tonight, at least it’s been a fun ride for Blue Jay fans & the bandwagon jumpers!

“Head of the Herd” was the opener on tour with Finger Eleven. They were tight as far as a decent band goes, just not my thing. There’s 3 albums on iTunes. Most recent was released in September.

25 years ago Thursday “Pearl Jam” took to the stage for the first time.

“Back to the Future II” on Jimmy Kimmel

Bjork is still around? Can she sell 2000 copies of this rarity? I believe this was as close as she got to the main stream?

I was thinking a LOT about suicide when I was in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center. NOT ANYMORE!! I’ve realized how selfish it could be & how it would affect everyone else. At the time I was thinking I didn’t have anything to offer to the world, & I was only thinking of myself. I’m here & I have no plans on leaving anytime soon. I was in a bad place mentally at the time, for myself & everybody else in my life. Now I’m on anti-depressants & anti-psychotics, to this day. 2 videos inside the link!

Sorry, this was the “Depeche Mode” song “Finger Eleven” covered on their 2nd album “The Greyest of Blue Skies”

I remember leaving work at the Staples Call Center to sing a few songs at The Exchange for my brother who was basically in a week long “Rock Band Camp” at Long & McQuade. He wanted me to sing 2 Finger Eleven songs. Family & friends come first for me if I can help do anything!

“Finger Eleven” is or was my brother’s go to band, which rubbed off on me a bit. My band is “Foo Fighters” that rubbed off on him a bit. The first band we were both really into & still are is “I Mother Earth”. We of course got into them on the ’96 album “Scenery & Fish” at first, in the kitchen doing the dishes blasting the CD as our Mother would yell at us from the living room “TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!!!!” You win mom. Wait she’s bopping her head to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” now is what I hear from Dad?

How do I know “Rush” isn’t on tour at the moment? Geddy Lee was interviewed earlier this week in his season ticket seat during the playoffs for the Blue Jays!

We played with a band from Ontario a few times that were touring across Canada, each time they would play a show with our band “Chemical Horizon”. I think we played 3 shows with them? When I was diagnosed with cancer they were either passing through town on tour or going home to Ontario. I know they had plans to tour across Europe. Don’t know if they made it there? We all liked them, heck their 2 albums are on my iPod. They never got signed by a label & eventually broke up. Really nice guys, that made really good music! “Flatlined”, if they didn’t get signed I knew we wouldn’t. I looked at it as just a hobby anyways, I had no intention of signing to a label. If it happened, GREAT! If it didn’t, that was fine too.

This is the only song/video they have on good ol’ www.youtube.com

Stone Sour drummer with drum camera. At first I felt compelled to rap the “Ninja Rap”, then the beat changed!

There are two Big Wrecks. First incarnation of Big Wreck were 4 guys that dropped out of the Berkley School of Music to form Big Wreck. Ian Thornley was the only Canadian at the time. They released the first 2 albums between their debut in ’97-their breakup in 2002 with their second album “The Pleasure & The Greed” released in 2001.

Then came the age of “Thornley” for a decade, a rather unstable line up that released 2 albums in 10 years. The first album was fun to play along with!

“Thornley” was an all Canadian group.

Then Big Wreck came back with different members. All Canadian other than the return of the original 2nd guitar player who’s American. In 2012 they released the album “Albatross” then “Ghosts” in 2014

The only constant thing throughout all of this has been the singer/song writer/lead guitarist Ian Fletcher Thornley, who has a solo album being released on Friday, October 30th. More of an acoustic sound along with other soothing instruments.

Songs I like, “Sugar Ray” had to skip a few. I only have one album. They were big in the ’90s. Honestly, I haven’t listen to this since I was in University, in the fall semester of ’98 & the year of ’99.

Definitely give this time to load 8,000,000,000,000+ links!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Queens of the Stone Age” on shuffle. Everything but the Greatest Hits album & ‘Era Vulgaris’

Yes, I saw “Finger Eleven” at The Pump Roadhouse. More cash to see a band in a bar than anyone should ever pay RIDICULOUS! I’ve seen probably 4 or 5 live shows at The Pump. It’s likely not the best live venue in town. Site lines to the stage aren’t very good if you’re seated at a table. Even if you’re standing near the middle or back of the crowd it’s not that great. I didn’t really “see” Finger Eleven last night, I heard them. I sort of expected not to be able to see them, so that really wasn’t a big deal. They did start their set with a bang and a bit of Pink Floyd near the end. The first time I saw Finger Eleven, they were opening for I Mother Earth on the “Blue Green Orange” tour in either late ’99 or early 2000

I solidified my reason for not listening to any local radio station. Before the show Regina’s rock station was playing a ton of post-grunge rock & all of it was terrible for me anyways. I did hear/see one video that was good though, before the show started on time @7 like the tickets said. Only an hour & a half late? ( 8:30 )

Little bit of this near the end!

We heard 2 great songs from their first album as well

I’d like to know if anybody at the show last night had a clue that Finger Eleven “Walking in my Shoes” from their 2nd album, is a Depeche Mode song?

Too bad my brother had to miss seeing his favourite band live due to work training. Sorry Mitch, you missed a good one.

There were 3 bands in total, each played a cover song. The first band played a snippet of a Led Zeppelin song that I can’t remember. He 2nd band played “Come Together” as my dad said in the car after, “I wonder if anyone in the crowd knew that was a cover?”

I guess Canadian punk rockers “GOB” are back? I saw their video on screen while waiting for the show to start. Now they sound like that generic post-grunge music, completely different than their early 2000s & late ’90s sound….

This video was on one of the TVs last night too. Took me back to 2000

Actual video

I wasn’t a fan of GOB, but it’s sad to hear a band completely change their sound in order to survive in the music business today? It could also be that their new sound is what they want to do now?

Toronto Blue Jays won yesterday so it’s back to Kansas City for game 6 of the ALCS

Unfortunately for the Chicago Cubs “Back to the Future” got it wrong. They lost last night in an elimination game against the New York Mets. The Cubs will not win the or even play in the World Series as predicted in Back to The Future. Nice run sorry it’s over Cub fans.

Bruce Willis is all in for “Die Hard” prequel!

2 things happened on this day in 2002. It was the first birthday for Kim that I was a part of, we started dating in April of 2002. Foo Fighters released their 4th album “One by One” on the same day. I bought copies immediately after class at SIAST. 1 for Kim & 1 for me, yes, I got her something else as well.

25 essential Pearl Jam moments

In the summer of 1998 I worked with a plumbing company out of Moose Jaw, installing duct work & AC in an Extendicare in Regina. Every morning we’d start at 6:00 before it was too hot in the attic. I’d pull up to work blasting Pearl Jam’s album “Yield”

Stuff like this makes me wonder how those people got their job & how they can forget about it & live with themselves?

I’m really enjoying the new “Pentatonix” album

Alter Bridge’s ‘Blackbird’ has been voted to have the best guitar solo of all time? I like Alter Bridge, but this is laughable! It’s not the first time I’ve heard this either! I heard another outfit had declared the same thing in 2010?

Nobody thought about this or any other famous solos?

Songs I like, “Stone Temple Pilots” they announced in January that they were “…95% done recording the new album..” with Chester Bennington of “Linkin Park” on vocals. They’re touring, yet no release date for the album?

I need to watch these movies again. All 3 are beside me on DVD, maybe this weekend if the Blue Jays lose this afternoon, which I hope they don’t or all of this hype has been for nothing. 1 lose in any of the next 3 games for them & the season is over for them & I.

The 2 best things about being “Auntie” Kim & “Uncle” Chris, is that we get to teach kids bad habits such as using your sock to clean up a tiny spill of liquid. “Uncle” Chris gets the left over, slobbered on, cold Kraft Dinner/Mac & Cheese!

Yeah, odd/weird what’s with the water? That & the fact that I instantly thought of Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac are the 2 things I’ll remember from that show.

I’m still not sold on “All That Remains”? I saw them live in Saskatoon opening for “In Flames” still not sure. I think it would be one of those things I’d buy & never listen to.

Foo Fighters play a classic rock hit with a special guest drummer.

I liked her first album, so I hope this one measures up to fan expectations?

“The Glorious Sons” shared it….

From “Walk off the Earth”

Follow a young girl named Ellie though a world of paper mache non-acceptance. Please share with the world.

For more background on the concept of this video, please read this note from our co-conspirator and director Ben Rispin:

“So, we made a video that encourages Trans youth to be themselves. We made it with with my dear friends in Walk Off The Earth this past summer. Today this video is public to everyone ( It was a Mashable exclusive until this morning).I had a flurry of announcements yesterday and I didn’t quite get to express just how proud I am of this project and everyone involved.
When one of my oldest buds Gianni Luminati Nicassio asked me to come up with treatment ideas for a song off their new record I was definitely flattered and over whelmed. WOTE’s videos are so well thought out, choreographed and well-rehearsed that I didn’t think I’d be able to produce / write / direct something worthy of what they do every day.
I got an advance copy of their album and started listening to the record over and over. A bunch of songs spoke to me but a song called “Alright” hit me like a ton of bricks. The message that the lyrics conveyed gave me goosebumps. I knew this song was really special. The song inspired an idea I pitched about possibly doing a kids show-themed video with bullies. The climax would see bullied kid literally exploding the bullies heads into confetti explosions in some sort of final number. Basically a lot of the visuals you’ll see in the video today. Gianni liked it and told me write it up. I immediately called my brother Cole, told him the opportunity and got him on scripting the idea and flushing out the story. Cole knocked it out of the park, the band approved and we got to work.
A couple weeks later I was out for drinks with Gianni and he mentioned Ellie. A transitioning girl that was a dancer that he’d like for the lead role of the video. He spoke of how she inspired him so much that he’d like the theme of the video to support trans youth. I was blown away by the idea. I was blown away that the band wouldn’t think twice about putting their names on the line for something they believe in. I know they’ve always been supportive of all communities, but they have a wide variety of fans from all walks of life ( basically the whole internet ) and would no doubt get trolled by haters. I didn’t bring this up. The cool thing about working with the WOTE crew is the band are visionaries and they’ve either weighed the consequences or just don’t care what they are. In this case, it was the ladder. This was important to the band and I couldn’t have been more impressed.

We called Cole with 11th hour script changes, made the adjustments and found an amazing location at Hamilton Theatre Inc. We didn’t have much budget for the crew at the theater, but they were more than accommodating. Paddy, Dustin, and everyone from the theater got on building sets, recruiting extras and fully committed to supporting this video in anyway they could. Awesome team, awesome people. With them, we were off to the races.
We enlisted the great The Butcher Shop to make our exploding heads and masks. Everything was coming together. When you’re dealing with a project like this it’s usually running around, freaking out and not really stopping and thinking about what’s going on but somehow we made it to our first day of shooting.
When I met Ellie on that first day of shooting is where everything got put into perspective for me. Ellie is the brave little girl who stars in this project. Never have I met someone like Ellie. Her soft spoken words, smile and genuine soul could warm the coldest of hearts. She’s quiet but clearly strong. The happy, approving nod she gives when she liked an idea filled everyone with confidence that we were making something special.
I haven’t had much experience with the transgender community. I haven’t. The first person I’d ever known to be publicly transgender was my friend Laura Jane Grace. Having read her story I saw how hard it was to grow up trans. How confusing that must have been for her. I can’t possibly know what it’s like, but the least we can all do is try to understand and support.
I guess what I’m getting at is I hope this project can help anyone be themselves at any age. I’d love to see a world where there aren’t 30 something back woods dudes like me scratching their heads when their friends announce they’re transgender. I’d love to see all communities embraced, accepted and treated equally And I’d really like to thank the WOTE crew for letting us be a part of this special, special video. Love you guys.”

How on earth did “Rammstein” get mentioned in the same sentence as “Black Sabbath” & “Iron Maiden”? Different strokes for different folks.

Songs I like, “Stone Sour” 5 albums, the first 3 on CD.

Today’s workout was bought to you by the letter “T”, as in Trivium on shuffle. 6 albums I listen to & one album on CD in the closet behind me. It’s not allowed on my iTunes! I don’t put baby in the corner, I put CDs in my closet (it knows why)!

The only song from the album “The Crusade” on my iPod & iTunes, an instrumental

The Toronto Blue Jays won! On to Kansas City on Friday (October 16th) to start a best of 7 games for the American League Championship Series! 3 pitchers used in yesterdays game, all under the age of 22. Marcus Stroman started & went 6 innings + 2 outs. Aaron Sanchez pitched 4 outs (1.1 inning). Roberto Osuna is 20 years old & pitched the 9 inning, the game finished at 6-3 including a VERY long 7th inning (53 minutes) that everyone could have used a rule book for. I’ve been watching the Blue Jays since 1991 & I have never seen 1 inning take so long with 2 bench clearing occasions. Nobody fought but it was very close to getting ugly.

If you’re in the crowd as a mother protecting her new born, stop throwing any projectile on the field! Alquida is pretty much on par with the Toronto crowd from yesterday. The crowd reacted in one of the worst ways possible. Even Toronto players were trying to stop the crowd from throwing garbage on the field.

The Texas Rangers made 3 errors in a row?! Yeah that was a fantastic game. I hear 75% of Canada jumping on the Blue Jay band wagon! “Welcome aboard I’ve been here since I was 11, 1991, the year before they won the World Series!” I watch a TON of Blue Jay baseball, yet I’ve never seen most of the stuff that happened last night!

You just don’t do this EVER as a pitcher!

Josh Donaldson post game interview “That play just pissed everybody off”

I don’t watch much National League baseball, that’s the baseball I find boring.

“Back to the Future” 4? With a cameo by Christopher Lloyd

A “Die Hard” prequel? Both of these movies have the potential to be great, or fall flat on their face.

2nd single from the Ian Fletcher Thornley album

What? Katy Perry sang with Christian nu metal group POD?

And now she does this?

Hear the original line up for “Alice Cooper” play ‘Mr. Nice Guy’

Well “Almost Famous” would already set the bar quite high for this team up.

Walk off the Earth shared it, here it is! I do like the previous album more than this new album. Here’s one from each album.

Their covers are FANTASTIC + very unique

The new Radiohead album is done & they plan to tour in 2016

I’m sure it will sound like this track rather than the 2nd link.

I just found this link for “The Best of Regina”, my friends Cam & Michelle run the preschool “Bloom” on the ballot. “The Exchange” is also on there, good original music, mostly local. “Best place to make WHOOPEE (besides home) is also on the list? Who calls it “WHOOPEE” now?

Iron Maiden add dates to their world tour, 4 of them in Canada.

Call me what you want. I’m so sick of being bombarded by political verbal diarrhea. I don’t need to hear slimy politicians tell me what their opponent can’t do, or who’s voting for who? It’s your right to vote & that’s fine, remember it’s also my right not to vote.

I guess drummer, Matt Cameron, wasn’t busy enough with Soundgarden reuniting while continuing to handle the drum duties “haha I said duties” for Pearl Jam?

Top 10 thrash metal albums NOT released by the big 4. I’m not a huge metal head, & now I know why 8 or 9 of these bands aren’t to my liking.

“Ten Commandos”

As a society. I think we now rely on technology more than we need to. What did people do before cell phones? My car just stopped on a grid road out to the cabin years ago, & it was late. I could have walked since I was close, but what would I have done if I was in the middle of nowhere? Sing “Queen”?

Any “Back to the Future” movie still holds up! “Great Scott!” “Heavy!”

As much as I like Ian Fletcher Thornley/Big Wreck you shouldn’t tamper with a classic….in other words “That is so 1997”

Rock It Out Blog & I agree. I don’t ever expect everyone reading this to like the music I like. I just say what I like. When people go out of their way to bash ANY music act, it just seems like a waste of time & energy. Just say “Ah, no thanks” & move on.

Phil Collins biography next year……………….AWESOME!!!!!!!

Busy weekend here. Friday we attended a funeral of a distant family member. Saturday was my grandmother’s birthday party. I’ve been to a 2 year old’s birthday party & my grandmother’s birthday party, no I didn’t drink too much to cause any signs of a hangover either time but I’m tired after both! Sunday was Thanksgiving supper here with Kim’s family. I got to see a lot of people this weekend as well as eating WAY TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finished off the weekend with a Blue Jays win, & supper at my parents house, meatballs with rice & a salad on the side. My grandparents were there along with my aunt from Airdrie

Songs I like, “Silverchair” Not a huge fan but I own 4 albums, that I rarely listen to, & in university we did play one of their songs in our cover band.
