WEEKLY EXERCISE TOTAL

If you like it, please share & subscribe?  If you don’t please give me feedback as to what would improve it for you?  I can’t please everyone but I can try.

A little disappointing on Wednesday.  I guess it really doesn’t matter.  It was very long & in the middle of the week, my bad.  This site had 8 viewings by 6 people from Canada.  On Facebook we hit 97 views.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you!

I don’t want to overload you with links, pick what you want to know about & feel free to skip the other stuff.  The www.youtube.com  links are there for a point of reference if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Don’t feel as though you have to open every link.

I fell asleep to “The Watchmen” the album “Live & in Stereo”

I exercised to “Royal Blood” the brand new album “When did we get so dark?”

Yay it’s Friday & I’ve been waiting for it!  Sure I’m at home all day, but I exercise, take care of Brewster, have breakfast, watch minimal TV, shower, have lunch, write portions of this blog, practice guitar, & then I’ll hit the couch & listen to some music.  Then it’s 3:00 pm or so unless the dishwasher or hand washed dishes need to be tended to, or I need more fruit & veggie juice or I need to clean up something.  I’m usually out of bed by 8:30 am at the latest, I tend to go to bed around 11:00 pm.  Once I’m up it’s go, go, go, until everything I wanted to accomplish is done.

500 leg lifts, 200 pushups, 5 minutes of planking, yoga, 500 crunches & 100 back flexes this past week.

That’s 100 leg lifts, 40 pushups, 20 back flexes, 25 minutes of planking, 100 crunches & yoga 5 days a week.  First thing I do when I leave the bedroom, then breakfast & a shower.

Yes, those are my current goals.  I think they’ll stay at that limit for quite a while.  You know me though, I’ll likely push to raise some of the numbers sooner.

I used to be a decent swimmer.  I never took swimming lessons as a child.  My dad grew up playing water polo & swimming in the morning before class at the University.  He taught me how to swim.  My grandparents’ old condo had a swimming pool.  He taught me there & in the summer at the lake/cabin. My grandparents’ owned, built by my great grandfather.  I used to swim with no problems at all.  Now I wouldn’t get into a pool or lake without a life jacket on.

If you’re here strictly for the cancer news, that’s all I have for you today.

Royal Blood’s Facebook page

“Pleased to announce we’ll be supporting Queens of the Stone Age in North America in September/October. Tickets on sale 22nd June.”

Only Canadian date is in Toronto in October.  I guess technically that makes it a North American tour.  Toronto, just over a 2 day drive away from Saskatchewan.  Musically, I should move to Toronto or Europe.  Many North American tours are 20+ shows in America w/ 3 Canadian dates, Montreal, Toronto, B.C., & sometimes Calgary depending on the popularity of the artist(s).  Although Tool, Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks, Blue Rodeo, Foo Fighters, In Flames, Trivium, Lamb of God, Megadeth etc.  Have at least played Saskatoon and a few of those have made their way to Regina.

TONS of great music for me being released this year.  I adore the new Big Wreck album. But the Paramore album “After Laughter” is on heavy rotation on our stereo & my iPod.  It’s much more of a pop album than previous albums that were the typical pop/punk/distorted guitars.

Just checked the ol’ iPod for counts of play on it!

30 times listening to Big Wreck’s ‘Grace Street’ & Paramore’s ‘After Laughter’

12 times for The Watchmen’s ‘Live & in Stereo’

The odd thing is I listen to our stereo more than my iPod!  I think I have a problem?

I’d sing & play these 2 songs at the band practices with my brother’s group!  He really doesn’t like these songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve listened to the new Royal Blood album a few times this morning & WOW, no sophomore slump in sight.  I’d say it’s even better than their first album & it’s phenomenal also.

I went to a friend’s house last night to see his new place.  Pretty sweet place.  His condo looks great, could be that I haven’t scratched up, or demolished his walls with my wheelchair….yet!

Nothing will instantly fix anything, my aunt wont come back as much as everyone would like her to. Everyone mourns differently. I shut off the outside world, put on headphones, cry my eyes out, & listen to music. Why? Because those stupid bands, artists, albums are always there for me, & that’s how I mourn. It’s Wednesday at the moment. I still can’t type this without sobbing. I’m sure my uncle & cousins are having a much tougher time than I am.

I can’t stay in this rut having a pity party. I will never forget my aunt. She was hilarious & always quick with a joke. She laughed & didn’t care who heard her! Many good memories of her. I’ll never forget the weekend the Gagnon family came to my parents house, one of many times, & I was living at my parents, maybe even still in high school? My parents had bought some type of raspberry cream liquor in a smallish 20 oz. bottle. It wasn’t cheap, but after 3 or 4 evenings my aunt polished it off. After the Gagnons left to go home my mother said “I can’t believe it! She finished it! Nobody else even tried it?!”, I replied “Sure, but it was a hilarious weekend!”

When I was released from my cancer rehabilitation program, my aunt was in town of course. Anybody needs anything, she’s there ASAP. I was released Thursday, July 26th 2012. Fridays at Boston Pizza are fish bowl Fridays, 3 shots of alcohol in whatever kind of beverage you like. We went to Boston Pizza that evening to celebrate. Fun times! I started shouting that my aunt was so dark from tanning she looked like an Indian. Everyone thought I was being racist about the aboriginal community, I wasn’t. What do you call a person from India? Indian! She would tan so much in the summer it was almost like she oiled up & basted herself like a turkey for Thanksgiving! A very dark roasted turkey! So yes I do have a lot of good memories of her.

How did she die? Very much loved.

She beat stage 2 breast cancer. It came back & went wherever it could, she was down to ½ of a lung & couldn’t breathe. The last time I saw her was in April for her birthday. She was hilarious! We were playing a game of dice, & she was joking about her cancer. “Hey his/her aunt/mother/sister has cancer, let them roll again”. We all knew she was scared, but of course she could joke about it!

My aunt was the 2nd child of 4. Her big brother Rick, her, my mother, & the youngest. Ken. My aunt was 59 in April, my mother will be 57 in August.

It’s been an emotional roller coaster of a week. Next week I’ll fire up my exercise routine & try to only focus on the good memories I have of my aunt! There’s quite a few of them. Thanks for keeping my family & I in your thoughts!

Yes, when I’m going through a tough time I fill my emotional hole with music. Not necessarily the music that reminds me of that individual, but stuff I like. So, here’s what I’ve been listening to this week…..

Thursday evening we went to my favourite pub for supper & hear not 1 but 2 Foo Fighters songs with a pop/country tune sandwiched between them. Weird music channel?

We’ll just let the human race die out or become an endangered species at this point? That sure seems where we are headed.

POP/EDM MUSIC

I find the majority of pop music to be very disposable at the moment. Name a song post 2010 that is a well crafted pop gem? There are a few I can think of, are the musicians still popular/relevant? If I want to hear pop music there are a handful of things I’ll go to. Remember this is just my take on the subject.

Today’s workout was brought to you by the letter “S” for System of a Down!

OK, there’s people all over the world reading this. Subscribe if you like? I wont use your email or Facebook for anything. It’s safe, don’t worry about it.

Why am I not surprised by this? You knew someone was going to say something regarding Slayer?

http://loudwire.com/christian-youtuber-attacks-slayer-repentless-uses-judas-priest-art-portray-god/

How is Slayer attacking Jesus Christ? In Europe there are how many Church Burning black/satanic metal bands? Has Slayer or Iron Maiden ever burnt down a church? Not that I can think of. If you don’t like it, leave it alone. Slayer thanks you for the advertisement! I can listen to Slayer, but after a ½ hour it sounds a little repetitive? I get tired of a guy yelling at me, yelling not growling death metal vocals you can’t understand.

I like the new album by Finger Eleven. $45+ is quite a bit to see them in a bar though? The Saskatoon show in O’Brians Event Center for that amount is respectable. Great venue, boring drive!

Sorry, this popped up as a suggestion on www.youtube.com Hahahahaha!

I wish I could go to this show, but it’s tomorrow, Thursday, I don’t go out unless it’s a weekend usually.

The Rolling Stones aren’t done yet! Personally I think they should stop recording & just tour their 500 albums they already have?
