Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer? Ask if you do!
Music throughout the weekend. “Ed Sheeran”, “Sum 41”, “Foo Fighters”, & “Iron Maiden”
“Foo Fighters” released a live EP with 6 songs from this show, only available on streaming sites? I got it, despite my personal opinion regarding streaming sites.
Just when I think I’ve got our iTunes fixed, I realize there’s more work to be done. On top of that, the A/C is back to where it began on June 28th, broken…again! Too late to call now about it, I guess we sweat some more until Monday? I noticed all of this Friday evening around 8:00 pm.
Wake up Saturday morning, Kim makes a trip to Tim Horton’s for coffee & I asked for a bagel. I have my breakfast & she gets right to painting. She turns on the A/C & it actually went down a degree. Is it broken or is it fixed? I may live “…in the land of the ice & snow…” in the summer in Canada it gets HOT outside, & just as hot inside our place. In the winter we can’t turn on the A/C but our windows face south. So if you’re cold in the winter, bring a bottle of rum, we can share it & pretend we’re in Jamaica.
Saskatchewan Roughrider football game Saturday night. A win for the home team after a dreadful game 2 weeks ago. While we’re discussing the Roughriders, I’ve made a decision. I’ve been attending every home game since before I can remember. Whenever I was old enough for my grandfather to hold me on his lap, before kindergarten I know. I’m know 39 years old & of course I missed the games while in the hospital. It’s very sad to say, but next season will be my last as a season ticket holder. If the Grey Cup/Championship game wasn’t here next year, this would be my final season. It’s become a financial burden what with the rise of ticket prices, food & beverages, all for the new stadium. I like being in the stadium, it’s just too much money for us in our situation. I can watch the games on TV & a pop won’t cost $6 or $9 for a beer. At least at home the beverages & food are prepaid.
Finished fixing my iTunes finally & we’ll call the plumbers first thing tomorrow. Kim & her sister drove to their aunt’s place in Kinistino, 3 hours north, for a birthday party & are back this evening. Brewster & I did our thing, he slept & I watched baseball.
Our air conditioning is being weird in that it shut down Friday evening, yet today it works fine? Then stops working around 2:30 in the afternoon. That’s our weekend in a “….nutshell….”
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will now cry & take a moment for myself & Chris Adler.
Not a great way to end a Friday^^. L
October 15th says Kevin Smith. I can’t wait, I’m all in! “Jay & Silent Bob Reboot”!!!! LOTS OF LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still think this is the most over rated album of all time. I understand many people love it, & I’m the odd one out. Could be that I’ve heard the opening of “Welcome to the Jungle” at every Rider game since it was released in 1987? I stopped listening to the rock radio station because they play songs from this album & early “Rush” songs full of synthesizer. I own this CD, it’s in a box behind me & not on my iTunes or iPod.
I do listen to quite a bit of “Rush” post 1980 only though.
ADELE
I have her album “21”. That’s all I have for her music. I very rarely listen to it though. Despite having a FANTASTIC voice, it didn’t stick around for very long with me. I guess it’s more of the fact that she’s out of my typical listening area. Too far out of my little box despite her talent.
The more you share this, the more readers I get. No, I’m not profiting from this in any way. I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you! Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.
Why did this become a music blog? “Because music is a BIG @#!$%^*&( DEAL”-David Eric Grohl
“I feel good about the good things, & bad about the bad things”-David Eric Grohl
“Learn from your mistakes & don’t repeat them”-Chris
I fell asleep to “The Pretty Reckless” the album “Light Me Up”
I exercised to “Big Wreck” all 4 studio albums on shuffle
^^I broke my nose to that last song at Edgefest, a 1 day outdoor festival in Saskatoon, only bone I’ve ever broken. I’ve cracked ribs & stretched tendons in my right knee while playing baseball, but they’ve healed..
Since the passing of Steve Jobs, Apple has made error after error, it’s a fact, look it up! Apple stock is on a decline while Microsoft is on an incline. As you know, I don’t like the idea of streaming music, it has it’s pros & cons. The moment we signed up for Apple Music, iTunes doubled multiple files in our iTunes catalogue. Sure it’s cheap, $9.99 I think…I don’t use it, Kim does. Corey McDonald & I were talking about it a few weeks ago. He made a very good point. Saying that we’ll always have access to music, even if Apple Music & other streaming sites cease to exist. True, solid point. I view it differently.
We’ve always been able to purchase our music & be assured that it’s in our possession, now streaming music feels like renting music, to me? Yes, everything I buy music wise is from iTunes now & yes I miss being able to read the liner notes, the lyrics & thank you sections on a physical copy.
Now a country, not sure which one, has declared that burning a CD from iTunes is illegal. Now Apple sells their laptops & iMacs without a CD tray, that seems illegal to me. I haven’t put all of my CDs on my iTunes, what if I had an Apple computer? No CD drive & somewhere around 300 CDs to import? If I wanted them all on iTunes, I’d have to repurchase each album? That would be in the neighborhood of $3000? But I own them now on CD at roughly $25 each! I’ve paid for them once & now I’d have to buy them again? Sure I could go to a streaming site & get them. What if said streaming music site worked like Netflix? Netflix shows aren’t on there for life? They change their catalogue of shows on a monthly basis? So if I attain my music from a streaming site, will it be there forever. Probably & maybe not at the same time.
I also have a few CDs that are now out of print? iTunes doesn’t have them, will a streaming site? This is out of print so I’m glad I bought this on CD when I found out about it in 2001 or 2002?
I also have a few other CDs out of print & not available anywhere. I had bought some newer albums on iTunes by a group Corey got me interested in. He saw them on my iTunes & said they’re not available on Apple Music yet. I don’t want to wait for new music that isn’t available yet on a streaming site yet. I’m not saying streaming music sites are wrong, I’m saying they’re not for me. Guess who is making money on Digital music?………………….the site that provides the music, download, streaming or from a CD store. Vinyl, I have no idea? So the people actually making the product aren’t making money on any sales of their product? That seems wrong to me. It’s legal, but it doesn’t work for me. If I had the physical space, I’d be purchasing CDs or Vinyl records still. An album on iTunes costs $9.99 usually how about splitting that 3 ways? $3.33 for Apple, the label/management and the artist(s), then everyone gets an equal amount as opposed to $0.71 for the band/artist that is signed to a label? $9.99 wont kill me, maybe I’ll have to wait a few weeks because it doesn’t fit into our budget at the moment, at least I know that once I buy it, it will be there forever.
I can’t be the only person with computer access that thinks this way? Apple isn’t keeping iTunes available for just me.
In the end it doesn’t really matter how you get your music. The musicians of today are making far less than they would have 8 years ago, thank you Napster for nothing! Really, financially nothing!
Kim was going to get me a “Fit Bit” for my birthday earlier this year. I can count the sets of my workout & keep track of what I’m doing. When we go walking, she puts on her GPS on her phone. Nice gesture, but I can count.
10 best American metal bands…………..in the eyes of those at www.loudwire.com
I don’t think I’d just slap the metal label on Tool? I do like Lamb of God though!
Alter Bridge dedicate this song to the troops!!! Thank you!
From what I’ve heard Alter Bridge is set to release their 5th studio album in September. Depending if it’s early or late in September, a preorder should be available in July or August possibly. For those who don’t know Alter Bridge is made from the guitarist, original bassist, & drummer from Creed. The singer is the difference. Creed had a baritone singer, Scott Stapp. Alter Bridge has a tenor singer, Myles Kennedy. Every studio album has surpassed the previous album, for me.
Maya Rudolph & Martin Short in a variety show. It starts tonight, & I’ve got the series recording. Seems like it will be a funny show. I really like them individually! Theme song inside the link.
I’ve been a fan of Foo Fighters since ’97 when their 2nd album was released. Big Wreck is right up there with them since I was able to see them live in ’99 when I was 19 & of age to get inside a bar. I think now I should add Tool & Alter Bridge to the top of my favourite groups. If The Watchmen were still recording new music they’d be a very close 2nd to that group along with many others, for me.
Prophets of Rage announce line up & first show!!!!!!
I fell asleep to multiple albums by “Foo Fighters” first “Sonic Highways” second the self titled debut album “Foo Fighters” & finally about ½ of “The Colour & The Shape”
I exercised to “Dream Theater” the album “The Astonishing”
Today was another early morning after a long night got to bed around midnight, listened to roughly 2 ½ albums on my iPod. Woke up just before 6:00 am to pee, I was up I figured I might as well stay up & get going? Turned on the stereo & started putting dishes away that I took care of for Kim after supper, did the dishwasher that was full & ran last night & washed a few by hand since I made a breakfast juice last night & needed the pitcher for it. I’ve turned into a morning person Kim wakes me up during the week either before she gets ready for work or as she’s leaving for work. I like to get my workout/breakfast smoothie done ASAP so I can get this done & relax for the rest of the day ( around 2:00 pm or a bit later) is when I hit the couch & watch the late night talk shows I’ve recorded from the previous night. As soon as Kim gets home we watch “The Ellen Degeneres Show” together. I watch Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien & Netflix if there’s time for it before she gets home. I keep busy with my workout, Brewster, & this blog before I get to relax! Weekends I occasionally sleep in past 9:30 am. I listened to the newest “Anthrax” album “For All Kings” at a reasonable volume, not 11!
Just when I thought Major League Baseball umpires had hit the bottom, they prove me wrong & keep digging. I think any fan, player or manager watching the Chicago White Sox playing the Toronto Blue Jays last night would have been absolutely disgusted with the very inconsistent strike zone. When the back catchers, hitters, pitchers, live spectators, TV spectators, and managers from both teams question you as to why the same pitch was a strike or ball 3 pitches ago is now the opposite, wouldn’t an umpire begin to think that he might be off a bit. Then you go & throw a manager out of the game for asking a question to a different umpire? The Blue Jays would have lost anyways but it shouldn’t have been 4-0, I’ll say 3-0 at the worst, the fourth run was laughable, & who knows what the other miscalls would have been? The entire game was a joke at best. Keep “..digging your hole..” umpires, I guess you haven’t hit rock bottom yet?
As much as I like Foo Fighters I’ve only seen them 4 times, that’s the same amount that I’ve seen Trivium? I like Trivium but they’re not Foo Fighters! I try to never miss a Big Wreck show in town. When I went to see them in ’99-2002 they were here about 3 or 4 times a year & I saw them each & everytime. Even when I was in the hospital, Kim & I would take Para Transit or our wheelchair van to see ‘Thornley’ in town a few times, the lead singer’s band while Big Wreck had broken up for a decade.
Halestorm’s Facebook site has turned me on to other artists I likely wouldn’t know about. They recommended ‘Highly Suspect’, who was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album for their debut album “Mr. Asylum”. I can’t think of another rock group who has been a Grammy nominee for their debut album? That’s impressive for a rock band, especially now that rock music isn’t ‘cool’ right now.
If you were born in 1979 on, you don’t know a world without GMOs, other than food you’ve grown yourself or at an organic grocery store.
I know there’s many people opposed to this my opinion on this, but it’s my opinion only. I’m not speaking for anyone else. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Tour announcement from Blink 182 with 3 other groups
I fell asleep to “Dream Theater” the album “The Astonishing”
I exercised first to “Counting Crows” the album “Recovering the Satellites”
Apple shares are going down & Microsoft shares are going up. However an Apple share is double of a Microsoft share.
“No matter what you dream, you can do it” – a bio-pic about Steve Jobs played by Ashton Kutcher, a marketer for Apple said the quote above. I’ve been told this by my parents my entire life & it’s really good advice.
I think Apple as company stopped this way of thinking when Steve Jobs passed? The companies stock is on a downward slope at the moment, probably because they continue to aggravate their customers, likely a large percentage of the world. Face it, you own at least one thing made by Apple. An iPod, iPhone, iPad, an iMac. Mac laptop or desk top, or iTunes is on most computers. I’m not a fan of Apple, but I have an iPod & use iTunes at least twice a week, renting a movie or checking out an album. “No matter what you dream, you can do it”, unless it’s a 160gb iPod classic. Which will be replaced with a more expensive iPod touch with less memory, but additional features most people have or don’t want. I guess Steve Wozniak isn’t the thinker like his good friend Steve Jobs was? I’m not calling Mr. Wozniak stupid at all! I’m saying he doesn’t think the way that Steve Jobs did. Steve Wozniak is great at creating technological advancements, just not at marketing or listening to what consumers want/need.
It’s sort of like dangling a donut in front of anyone “You want it? Here it is!!!! No, now you can’t have it”. If I was tech savvy I’d do it myself, but unfortunately I’m not.
Tremonti teaser for the release of “Dust” on April 29th.
Consequence of Sound’s Masterpiece review “Songs for the Deaf” by Queens of the Stone Age. LANGUAGE!!!!!!!
I got into this album/band because Dave Grohl did the drumming on it & toured for a bit as their drummer.
All 7 Lamb of God albums in 7 minutes.
Why Sacha Baron Cohen quit the bio-pic of Freddie Mercury
I’m taking Monday off from the computer all together. Sorry, tomorrow you’re on your own
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!!! Probably
Yes, I went to Saskatoon on Friday to see “Trivium” on tour for the latest release “Silence in the Snow”
Lead singer & rhythm guitarist, Matt Heafy, seemed to be a much more confident frontman & knew how to work the crowd. It was pretty cool to hear the audience sing along with this song over the PA before “Trivium” came out!!!
Great show! Thanks to Mitch & Rachel for letting me tag along! We heard 1-3 songs from all 7 albums but the first album. Show was in Saskatoon at the O’Brian’s Event Center” a security worker saw me in a wheelchair as Mitch was pushing me up the ramp & cleared a spot for me at the counter they have cleared out for me the last 2 times I’ve been there! Trivium did a one song encore of this song.
Great show & it was done by 11:15 pm or so. We were back in Regina by 2:00 am.
We stopped for supper at a pub a few buildings down the street that opened in 2013, ended up missing most of the first of 2 opening bands. AWESOME service there too. Our waitress sat down with us, asked us where we were from, if we had been at the restaurant before, said she’d help us with the extensive drink menu as well as the dinner menu.
I’d have to say mine are “Tool”, “Barenaked Ladies”, “Rob Zombie”, “U2”, “Big Wreck”, “The Watchmen”, “Pearl Jam”, “Ozzy”, “Queen”, “Foo Fighters” & many more…….
New “Dream Theater” is no. 1 on the Billboard rock charts!! This is THE album for me right now!!!!
I fell asleep & woke up to “Dream Theater” the album “The Astonishing”. I waited until shortly after 10:00pm & got it then went to bed. It’s not your typical “Dream Theater” with 9 songs averaging 10 minutes in length. Double album 34 songs in total & most songs are 4 minutes long. The longest is almost 8 minutes. There was a lot more orchestral music on it also. I’d say it’s a really good album!
I exercised to “Eve 6” all 4 albums on shuffle.
Exercise total for the week! 40 leg lifts om my back, 40 leg lifts on my hands & knees, 150 squats, 120 pushups, 1260 crunches, 580 meters walking one day no rest periods. Did I enjoy it? No, but you do what you gotta do! When we were going to the field house on a flat surface I do 800 meters with 2 rest periods. After the first 200 meters then after the following 400 meters, then I’d finish up with the last 200 meters. This doesn’t count the long side walk into & out of the building. Our parking garage has slops for the drain. It’s not a flat surface.
I go to www.youtube.com to share these links & if they’re brand new it tells me to not embed them? This musician doesn’t want me to promote their new song, video, or album? Why is it on www.youtube.com then? Police are going to arrest me because I shared a link? Either way, you’re welcome.
I was fine Monday, I’ve been tired all week since Tuesday morning. I would have liked to have just sat on my butt all week, that never happens unless I declare a break.
Noel Gallagher on his 5 favourite David Bowie albums.
I don’t watch much NHL at all because most people watch it for the fighting & big body checks. Nobody wants to see this happen to any official in any sport. Really how idiotic is this? It happened on Wednesday, January 27th. If I was commissioner of the league “Bye, you’re done FOREVER”. I saw this as a highlight on Sportsnet.
I think I’m on a “Dream Theater” kick…….poor Kim!
“Filter” have a single & a new album on the way. New single inside the link. The song below is from their first album released in 1995.
Today’s workout was brought to you by “Paul Simon” the album “Graceland” & “Foo Fighters” 60 B-Sides on shuffle. Yet last night I fell asleep to “System of a Down” playing on my iPod?
My ying
And my yang
That makes 90 squats, 150 pushups, 15-20 minutes of yoga, & 420 crunches so far this week. Crunches & yoga are all in one day. Pushups & squats are three day totals, yet my T-Shirt still doesn’t fit that well?
Ladies, I’m going to tell you something about straight men. Some of us are extremely dumb, & I’m one of the dumbest ones. I need to be spoon fed everything “This is a song for all the fellas. Try to do what those ladies tell us….”
I’m so dumb I forgot the 2nd thing I was going to tell you!?
I got out of the shower this morning, brushed my teeth, got dressed & dropped my wedding ring under the bed. Took me a few minutes but I got it. I only take it off now when I shower. I used to take it off at work too for safety reasons.
President & C. E. O. of the Toronto Blue Jays, Mark Shapiro, finally broke his silence for a ½ hour interview on Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown yesterday. He’s been labeled as the number 1 villain since arriving in Toronto in late August. I think the fans just needed some reassurance that he knows what is expected from him. I hope this satisfies other fans? I wasn’t stressing about it, & I hope other fans don’t from now on. He said he’s meeting with Jose Bautista at Bautista’s house early next week. He would like to find a way to sign both Bautista & Encarnacion, both have been there for quite a while. Both of their contracts end at the end of the 2016 season. That’s $40,000,000 right there, plus the $20,000,000 their paying newly acquired (at the trade deadline last year) short stop Troy Tulowitzki. I think he might run into payroll issues? He’s been allotted roughly $148,000,000 for the team, same payroll as last year. For me it’s a wait & see situation. I don’t run the organization, so I don’t need to worry about it. I’m a fan, I sit on the couch for 3 hours & watch a game, sports entertainment. They can’t hear my coaching that I shout at the TV.
What would make me happier? If someone would actually coach the team how to bunt. Something you learn in Little League. Stick your bat out, hold so you don’t break your fingers, & deaden the ball onto the ground. Pretty easy but not for the Blue Jays players? Heck I could teach that from my wheelchair! Everything else we can forget about, they’re major league players for a reason.
Wednesday’s Rock It Out Blog
I’ve never heard of them. They have 6 albums on iTunes. Not something I’d buy or listen to. You might enjoy it though?
Did any Canadian miss the Black Sabbath tour date in Calgary, ON.? Is there a Calgary in Ontario that I don’t know about? That’s a long trip from Edmonton, Alberta!
The 3rd Tremonti album, “Dust”, will be released in April, single will be out in March. 10 song album that was recorded while in the studio for “Cauterize”
First Lemmy Kilmister, then David Bowie, & now Alan Rickman?
The last 2 on the list have made the start of 2016 terrible!
TV interview with Dave Grohl LANGUAGE IS CENSORED!
Today is Dave Grohl’s 47th birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. GROHL!!
“Rival Sons” in Saskatoon Thursday, January 28th . I’ve never heard of them. Honestly this is considered a big deal to the venue in Saskatoon?
I guess “Nickleback” is in a lawsuit? This is the only song of their’s I’ll share, since I quite like this song.
54-40 is playing in Saskatoon on Saturday, January 23rd. That’s an old Canadian group. “Hootie & The Blowfish” covered “I go Blind” for the Friends soundtrack.
It sounds as though the FRIENDS reunion is a go! 2 hour show on NBC in February. Here are some bloopers!
It may not be hundreds upon hundreds but thank you to all 127 of you subscribers! If you or somebody else would like to read the 10,000th music/pop culture/cancer blog on the internet, tell them about this website. If they don’t like it, it’s all good by me!
Halestorm shared it…If you like Halestorm they recommended “The Pretty Reckless”. They have 2 albums on iTunes. I prefer the 2nd album & rarely listen to the 1st album. So you might want to check out “Going to Hell” which is their 2nd album?
That’s great but Foo Fighters didn’t really have a hiatus. They were “The Sound City Players” backing the big name musicians for the documentary made by Dave Grohl.
Somebody else’ top 10 rock albums of 2015. I’d like to now what were YOUR favourite albums of the 2015 were. Rock, pop, rap, country, EDM, etc. Whatever kind of music that floated your boat in 2015. Feedback is always welcome. From this list, I’d have to go with “Finger Eleven”.
This is the problem with the music industry at the moment. Now you not only have to be talented, which is no longer what music labels look at necessarily, you have to be rich, before you get a shot to be famous. If you don’t have the money, it’s likely going to be a long uphill battle if you want to be a musician.
The Toronto Blue Jays have a new President who hired a new General Manager. They worked together for many seasons in Cleveland for the Cleveland Indians both in the same roles. Yes, Cleveland has been a very mediocre team the last X number of years. If you look at the attendance of Cleveland or their win-loss numbers, both the new President, Mark Shapiro, & GM, Ross Atkins, have terrible resume’s. Mark Shapiro should hold a press conference so the fans get to know him & what he’s going to do with Canada’s baseball team? Right now the majority of Blue Jays fans are throwing him under the bus. Why not wait & see what happens in 2016? If the Jays don’t make the playoffs, then judge him. They had more revenue last season than ever before. Money should not be an issue, the budget is set at the same amount it was last year $145,000,000. If more money is needed, it shouldn’t be a problem. Mark Shapiro is being painted as a villain at the moment, give him a year THEN whine & complain if you want to? If the team doesn’t make the playoffs, don’t buy the merchandise, don’t watch the games, & don’t go to the games. He’ll be on a very short leash. I’m guessing 3 years at most if the owner doesn’t see any improvement. It’s December 23rd at the moment & we’re talking about baseball, that’s a good sign for the city & organization. I feel sorry for Bob McCown every Monday & Friday when he takes calls that are 95% irate Blue Jay fans asking questions he doesn’t have the answers to. Sit back, keep quiet, & wait to see what happens? It’s a transition period for Mark Shapiro & Ross Atkins, at least give them a full season instead of a 2 month off season?
Completely different topic. My father & his co-workers all (8?) an Apple Watch from their employer as their Christmas gift. That’s awesome, that’s great! My dad works at a home theater/technology installer place. He designs whatever is being installed, does the estimate & sends out the installers with all of the info to install the speakers, TV(s), security system, network, USB outlets, etc.
They sell HUGE TVs like 84 inch curved HD TVs, yet every mobile device is getting smaller? There were laptops, tablets/iPads, iPad air, iPhones 1-6, Google glasses, & now a ½ screen on your wrist that you squint at to see & now you say to yourself “Ooooh, I got an email! I’ll have to check it on a larger device”. I’m not discounting the Apple Watch, I’m sure it has it’s pros & cons, but now you have a watch that will let you know you’ve received an email, facebook PM, a tweet, text, instagram, linkedin, etc. but it’s really small, so you’ll have to check it out on a larger screen? Pros & cons for all of these advancements in technology. Maybe it’s because I have one eye, but that watch screen is tiny? Weird?
Halestorm shared it on facebook. I REALLY like this band!
Ah, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on re-gifting!!!
Our previous drummer, Todd, now doing videos, as always on www.youtube.com . FYI, he’s HILARIOUS!
Surprise! I have another question for whoever is reading this. Does cover artwork really matter in the case of digital music? I like having a tangible product like a CD in my hand, but I’m out of physical space for it. I now get almost all of my music from iTunes. The only time I see the artwork is when I purchase the album & before my screen saver kicks in on my TV after 1 ½ songs? If I’m listening to my iPod, I rarely look at the artwork. Into my pocket or beside me on the bed it goes. How much does the artwork on an album matter to you in this digital era of music? Artwork is likely a reason I became a printing press operator. At the end of a shift I could hold a piece of paper & say “Hey, I helped in the making of this product!”.
I guess all of this Guns n’ Roses reunion talk could likely be true. They can do their thing, pretend it’s 1987 & I’ll be way over here in 2016 when it happens. I was so happy when the home town Roughriders started playing a song from 2013 instead of 1987’s “Welcome to the Jungle” at kickoff!! I’m likely the odd one on this though.
Nazareth faked using bagpipes. “Where did the guitar player go?” “Backstage to play with an effect while the lead singer can fake that he’s playing the bagpipes”. I could see him at Buffalo Days, good thing the show was free with a $10 day pass!
The BIG sports story of 2015. 22 years with no playoff games. Yeah, but baseball sucks. “Oh, there’s a bandwagon, where do I jump on?” I’ve been watching the Blue Jays since 1990, that’s when I jumped on & stayed on. ALL bandwagon jumpers are more than welcome!
I’m all in on the “Climate Change” issue. It’s December 12 in Saskatchewan, I just turned on our heater! Finally there’s a bit of snow on the ground! I missed you winter, welcome back!
10 death metal vocalists you can understand. I can’t? Out of this selection I only listen to “Opeth” they do death metal & really light intricate music as well. Checking on iTunes, I found out I missed 2 or 3 of their albums? I think I’m OK though I have everything from before & this album.
Hahaha! These are terrible! Most of them I’ve never heard of. I have 2 from iTunes, “Black Sabbath” & “Iron Maiden”
Review of the new Justin Bieber album. I’m not sure about it yet?
Is your favourite vocalist on the list? For me it will always be Myles Kennedy & he’s not on the list! If I had to pick from this small sample, it would be Randy Blythe from Lamb of God.
Albums I’m looking forward to in 2016. I only know of 2 releases, Megadeth on January 22nd (already preordered) & of course Tool. Not sure when Into Eternity will be released, I’m assuming next year? “The League of One”, a local band, has an album release on Saturday, December 5th. I just heard the new Tremonti album will be released early next year! More cash to be spent next year!
I’ve never been a fan of Motley Crue or Godsmack. Maybe they should keep their feud quiet & actually speak to each other. OH MY! TALK TO SOMEONE? THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE! IS IT THE EARLY ’90s AGAIN??????????????????
Christmas tree time now. Saturday evening we went to Corey & Jolene’s place for supper & a Christmas movie with their daughter Hannah. Good times, & great people!
I forgot to take my pills last night. I was in bed by 10:00 pm & woke up around 10:30 am. Should have taken my pills! I was awake for 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the night. I took my pills & all was well. Finally fell asleep!
I was watching Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown, as I usually do 5 days a week for the first hour of 3 hours. On Friday’s & Monday’s the first hour is for people to call in & ask questions or comment on any topic, from any major North American sport. November 26th and 80% of the phone calls were still about the Blue Jays. Bob said something I had never thought of. Everybody is speculating as to whether free agent pitcher David Price will sign with the Jays since he was traded to them at the trade deadline at the end of July. He’ll likely be signing the last contract of his career, looking for something like $33-$35 million a year for 6-7 year. As Bob said in reply, “If David Price had finished the season with, his former team, The Detroit Tigers, nobody would be talking about THE elite pitcher in the game signing with the Jays”. Bob 1 other Jays fans 0. He also added “Why not take that money, cut it in half & sign 2 decent starting pitchers, instead of the current super star”! Brilliant!
After watching the Blue Jays playoff run last season, I learned something. Good pitching & good defense will usually win against a monster offense that averages 5.5 runs/game. If their pitching staff can have an Earned Run Average, E.R.A., of 4.70 or less they’ll likely win more games than they lose.
Songs I like, “Van Halen” I’m not a huge fan of them, but I have nothing against them. In the end, I’m good either way. I could do with a Greatest Hits album.
