Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend “TOOL”, “I Built the Sky”, “Sevendust”, & “Chromeo”

To clarify Friday’s post; Things in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada are taxed heavily!  7% Government Sales Tax aka GST & 7% Provincial Sales Tax.  The majority of stuff we purchase in Saskatchewan is 14% higher than America & our dollar fluctuates $0.75-$0.85 on America’s dollar.  Canadians pay a higher price on most things other than health care.  Example;  My father bought a 66oz. of Bacardi White Rum while renting a house in Arizona for a month, he left it there because almost full because it was cheap.  If it was here I could see that at least $80 or more.  Messed up since we didn’t get to vote in the USA federal election, nor did anyone else other than Russians.

Friday we watched the last however many episodes of “Atypical” season 3 on Netflix.  Kim’s parents came to town about mid-day on Saturday.  We all had supper here Saturday evening, James fixed a few issues I was having with my computer.  Too early for me for Christmas movies, but there was one playing Saturday night.  I missed it while getting things arranged on my computer.

Sunday morning Kim & Sherry hung out with their mom & went shopping.  Me & my Homeslice (Brewster) had breakfast, hung out & I finally had a bit of time to watch part of “The Cure” blu-ray, who I just got into believe it or not.  Kim got home around 2 pm.  I needed a refill on some medication & Brewster needed another appointment at the vet at 4 pm, he had an ear infection.  We picked up my refill at a pharmacy near a Dairy Queen.

There was a guy asking if we could get him something to eat, so of course we did.  He told Kim he didn’t want money, just something to eat.  We grabbed him some food & it was freezing outside.  I asked Kim if we could ask for a hot drink for him, but we were already through the drive-through.  Kim gave him her mitts & I offered my toque, he said he had a toque & declined.  I felt bad for him, he looked like he was still in his early 20s.

After that it was off to the vet.  Not good news.  Brewster’s ear infection was/is deep down by his ear drum.  He needed to stay there for a few hours since he needed to be sedated.  “Should we resuscitate him if he has heart failure due to his murmur?”  I can’t believe that was a question?  OF COURSE!

I was waiting in the car, since we didn’t think it would be anything major.  Kim came out to tell/ask me what to do.  Whatever it takes to make him feel better was the answer on both of our minds.  I thought nothing of it until after supper.  Kim was quiet & my mind was racing thinking the worst, “Was that the last time I’d hold him?  Is he going to go down because of an ear infection?”  I worried myself sick.  I was so relieved when we got the call to pick him up.  He typically NEVER barks, Kin said he was barking his head off when she went in to get him.

He’s home and he’s fine.  He had a lot of water & was growling at me before we got home for his food.  He’s pretty intimidating, all 12 ½ pounds of him.  I think he’s almost done his bronchitis medication (Kim gives it to him) & he’s doing much better.  Kim says to me “He’s already cost us as more than a guitar you wanted!”  Better to have some cash for a rainy day than a guitar, always better to keep Brewster healthy & happy.  Easy call on that one!  We both said if he needs $5000 of health stuff, we wouldn’t blink, that’s as true now as it was in 2006 when we got him as a pup.

Kim & Brewster went to bed while stayed up to do more stuff on my computer & watch some recorded TV from the afternoon.

3:30 am & up to feed Brewster at 9:30 am, I should go to bed earlier!  Brewster’s tired today too.  He was up & down all night drinking multiple bowls of water & of course peeing.  Kim went to have coffee with her parents, then off to get groceries afterwards.  I got up & didn’t really stop until noon.  Kim got home with groceries, I made my vegetable juice & finally hit the shower.

I don’t think Trump will have problems with immigration.  I think fleeing Americans could be his biggest problem if he’s not impeached?

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer? Ask if you do!

My left shoulder was incredibly sore on Thursday, no exercise that day, just ice & stretching.

MONDAY IS A CANADIAN HOLIDAY TO HONOUR OUR VETERANS ON/AT 11/11 11:11. KEEP THEM IN YOUR THOUGHTS YEAR ‘ROUND!!! I’LL RETURN TO YOU MONDAY SOMETIME.

5 day exercise total; 1,500 crunches, 900 leg lifts, 300 squats, 300 back flexes, 0 pushups, 400 curls, 00 tricep lifts, 100 shoulder raises. TONS of stretching & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Into Eternity” the album “Dead or Dreaming”

I exercised to “Kelly Clarkson” the album “Meaning of Life”

I’ve learned that not every diet works for everybody. Sometimes it’s a trend that will work for some, but not others & some people will stick to it for how “Everlong”, some will go back to their regular eating habits & SURPRISE your body will revert to its former shape & size. “In the end” eat what makes YOU feel good & look the way YOU want.

As I say this, please know I’m not calling out/trying to offend anyone. We are often invited elsewhere.
Being a cancer survivor is weird. Initially everyone is really worried, once they think you’re OK people ‘seem’ to forget you exist & revert to their life as it was when you we’re sick & out of the picture. I’m not trying to call out anyone here, I kind of get it. 4 ½ years without the presence of anyone can be completely life changing. Kim & I disappeared for a long time. Now if the phone rings, if Kim gets a text or if I get an email that someone wants to come by we’re shocked. It feels very “isolated” here in a condo & in an odd way I understand. I’ve changed a lot & so have others. Everybody has different priorities now & me having to figure out the lay of the land in a wheelchair isn’t the easiest thing. If I can’t get around a friend’s place, our door is always open, especially if you bring rum! Specifically Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum, Baron Samedi spiced rum or Sangria for Kim, who drinks alcohol far less than me. It’ll take me longer than you think to consume it since it’s on the rocks & not often.

Surviving cancer is weird in many ways. ‘He’s alive, he’s OK, we did our job & saved his life’ maybe that’s what my nurses & therapists thought, & that’s all they were supposed to think, in my mind. Most of them became friends that went beyond their job to help me and they’re all people I have a TON of respect for, current friend or not.

What’s weird here is that after I was in the hospital & the Wascana Rehabilitation Center for an extended period of time, I’m alive & getting better, but we’re missing my full income. That’s not my nurses, therapists or doctors fault. Most things were covered by Canada’s health plan. Our mortgage was covered for 2 years. Rent for my room at WRC was $1000/month & not covered by anything. You need money to survive. My wife works a full 8 hour day, 5 days a week. I collect disability until I’m 65 and CPP for the rest of my life. Together they don’t amount to $28,000 a year. If there was a box on the ballot to check off for politicians to comprehend that, it would have been marked with my vote. I didn’t have that option & no candidate spoke about it. From what I can tell, people with extended term disabilities in the public are forgotten about by politicians. That makes no sense to me at all? So I’m a financial burden whether I like it or not? “Life’s not fair you idiot! Lighten up!” So because I’m not physically strong enough to get a job, I’m forgotten & I should be happy with that while being a burden too? No, I’m sorry, that’s not good enough! I don’t want to be a burden & forgotten. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this type of situation either. Because of cancer I have created many bad/unwanted/uncommon ripple effects. I don’t understand that? I do plan to get an online part time job in the future & contribute to society & earn a small paycheck.

The left brake on my free wheelchair broke multiple times & after 2 or 3 separate times Sask. Abilities weren’t able to fix it properly for $50 each time. I got a different chair for just over $7,000 and $1000 of that was covered by our government & they’ll cover it once in a life time. The rest of it was paid out of pocket. My parents & Grandparents have helped out immensely with these expenses, I don’t want to go back to the well. I researched & I voted to see if maybe the Canadian Government would change, it didn’t. So for the next 4 years I get to be alive but not live?

I’m not someone looking for a handout of cash, this is my life & I guess I have to deal with it. I don’t want the Government to just fix my situation, just level the playing field a bit for everyone. I have a retirement disability savings plan. I can put in $5000 a year I think & it triples the amount. I can’t touch that money that I deposit for 10 years. So I’ll have some money in 9 years, until then my wife & I get to live as is & not do much of anything? Prices have gone up with inflation, I would think my salary would have as well, I’m not looking to be rich, I would like to make an income closer to what I was at when I passed out “in the meantime”.

I was head hunted by a different company & got a significant raise to stay where I was. I had some other issues with how the other company was being managed as well. I’m glad I stayed where I was, the other place no longer exists. I don’t know if they thought I could improve their chances of staying afloat? I was the youngest employee where I was, running 1 of the 2 larger printing presses where I was though.

I’m not going to be the poster boy for this, but I will support this cause. I’m not a person that gets into politics. I don’t like messing around in politics and I plan to stay away from it. That being said, I did send an email to the Canadian Federal Government asking about this issue. I got cancer, & it’s nobody’s fault. I’m not looking to get rich, I’m looking to make a similar wage as I made before I got cancer.

If you’re Canadian & want to voice your opinion on anything, this is the Governments website http://www.canada.ca

There are people FAR worse off than I am & nobody pays attention to them, but that’s supposed to be ‘Not our problem’? A TON of people want food, water, & shelter. Why have I been whining about my situation for so long? They’re other people who are worse off than the rest of us.

What do I not like? Whiners, complainers, fake people & people who don’t do their job at a respectable level. I’m certain I am all of those things, but fake, on this post & the entire website. I guess that long road to recovery is longer than I thought. Call me whatever you want to, but don’t call me fake. I can handle whatever you throw at me other than fake.

I hear we may have out of town guests this weekend that would be FANTASTIC!

I use streaming music until the funds are there to purchase music on iTunes or CD. I personally refuse to attain music by streaming it. Same deal with texting & photos. I do not like either one of them, so owning a cell phone would make me a hypocrite in my eyes.

Like them or not a cell phone can be VERY distracting at times.

9 albums streaming right now, not cool with me. Hello iTunes, slowly, next year! Any streaming service could tank at any moment and I’d be left with nothing, that’s why I use iTunes, a minimal paying site.

I BUILT THE SKY
I just found out about this band the other day. 4 albums in total, instrumental progressive rock (they’re classified as metal but call me jaded) with a couple of classical guitar & orchestral tracks too. I’ve never heard music like this! I grabbed their newest album on a streaming platform for a future purchase “The Zenith Rise”…

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “Testament”, “Wide Mouth Mason”, “Nothing but Thieves”, & “Dead Sara”

^^This guy fed me the urge to continue singing after high school.  Still one of my favourite songs.  Dave Grohl made me want to play guitar & be in a band.

Tried to watch the entire Toronto Blue Jays game Friday night, couldn’t do it.  I ended up watching some of “That ‘70s Show” on Netflix & “The Newsroom” on crave.  I might as well have been watching CNN while watching the Jays.  I was screaming at the TV, just like I do watching Trump fumble things constantly.

LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our new Toyota RAV4 should be in this week!  I still don’t like that we’re purchasing a new vehicle, when our current is a 2014 Santa Fe, that we’ve had no issues with, but it’s a new vehicle, I am excited about it!

Saturday was a day game in Houston for the Jays.  They didn’t win of course, Houston is currently the best team in baseball, and it was well played game by the Jays, a team full of mostly rookies or players that have been to MLB to fill a spot when needed.

Kim wanted ice cream……………..again.  She went out earlier in the day to the Farmers market to get some fresh vegetables.  She also bought me some new slippers that look more like runners.  We went out for some ice cream & I had found a girly movie she’d like.  We watched the movie, “Five Feet Apart”, then I watched an episode of “The Newsroom”.

Chick flick wasn’t terrible though.

Kim went out for a run this morning & picked up groceries.  I just finished making my vegetable juice for the week.  Eggs are next.

14 years ago on June 14th Foo Fighters released the double album “In Your Honor”.  1 disc of 10 rock songs & 1 disc of 10 acoustic songs!

Thank you “Grunge”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

50 rockers that have been in multiple bands

https://loudwire.com/rockers-multiple-successful-bands/?fbclid=IwAR2KN0cunZmeekmaDF6mC-P4Bxjai5GfjOs7itsLogqMBdFy7uFnV-mNI1o

To add to that off of the top of my head.  Josh Homme “Queens of the Stone Age”, “Kyuss”, “Them Crooked Vultures”, & “Eagles of Death Metal”.  John Paul Jones “Led Zeppelin” & “Them Crooked Vultures”.  Paul McCartney “The Beatles”, “Paul McCartney & Wings”, & “Paul McCartney”.  All of the singer/songwriters in “The Travelling Wilburys”, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, & Jeff Lynne.  Dave Navarro “Red Hot Chili Peppers” & “Jane’s Addiction”.  Many, many more.

If Trump doesn’t believe in aliens what on earth does he need a ‘Space Force’ for?

DREAM THEATER RE-REVIEW

The most recent release from them deserves another review.  It’s a really great album but I don’t seem to listen to it very often.  I thought I would but I tend to go to “Systematic Chaos” from 2007 or earlier releases like “Images & Words” from 1992, or the 2 albums that were released while I was in the hospital.

2019   DISTANCE OVER TIME

2013   DREAM THEATER

2009   BLACK CLOUDS & SILVER LININGS

2007   SYSTEMATIC CHAOS

1992   IMAGES & WORDS

My brother got into them before I did.  He was watching a few concerts on DVD that I thought were OK.  Then they released “Systematic Chaos” and I was all about Dream Theater.  Every day at work I’d listen to that, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Greatest Hits & a sports podcast.  That would take up 6 or 7 hours of my day.  Left me sometime at the end of my day to chat with co-workers.  Of course I’d take my earbuds out to chat throughout the day as well.

The more you share this, the more readers I get.  No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.  I can’t tell who’s reading this but thank you! Word of mouth is the only way of promoting this.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total; 400 leg lifts, 300 crunches, 300 squats, 200 back flexes, curls, yoga, & stretching.

I fell asleep to “Wide Mouth Mason” the album “Where I Started”

I exercised to “Paramore” the album “After Laughter”

What do I do after my exercises?  I keep myself busy.  I exercise from 1 hour or 1 & ½ hours.  Eat my breakfast, shower.  Do whatever needs to be done here, have lunch, check my email & other stuff.  Then hit the couch around 2:00 pm to watch some TV.  I do that, but I always feel like I’m “Chasing Yesterday”.  It’s a Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds album title.

Now that I have dumbbells, I keep them by my feet & randomly pick them up to do more curls with my left/weaker arm which still shakes uncontrollably.  I don’t even use heavy weights.  Only 10 pound weights for curls, I do 100 on my left arm & 80 with my right arm.  There is a visual difference between the 2 arms.

I also work on my tricep muscles with a 5 pound weight.  The exercise with your elbow pointing up & the weight behind your head with one arm.  Then during the day I’ll pick up a weight & do some exercise on my left arm while watching some TV.

Working with the weights seems to be a better workout than the pushups & tricep lifts I used to do.  Different muscles though.  At least my uncontrollable left arm seems to be stronger after 2 days of weights.  The yoga & stretching help quite a bit too.  I’m glad I brought the yoga back into the routine!

Yes we went back to the “Toyota” dealership Thursday after Kim finished work.  She got a 5 year lease on a new Toyota RAV 4.  It should be here in a month.  I felt & still feel sick to my stomach the further we drove away from the dealership.  “YAY let’s make car payments for the rest of our lives & never own a car!”  Might as well move into an apartment.  All I can hear in my head is “We can’t afford that” on repeat.  Happy wife = tightly wound ball of stress husband.  5 year lease & we should buy it at that time.

She deals with the money, while I worry about EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m still ready to throw up violently.  She says this way is better for us.  I said “OK, if you say so?”

Toyota’s “….got me firmly by the short & curlies…..”

Kim is much more responsible with money than I am.  If she can make it work, & she can, I shouldn’t stress out as much as I do.

Please don’t ask?  I can’t tell you how much the payments are other than, more than our 2014 fully loaded Hyundai Santa Fe.  We need a new vehicle why?  Our Santa Fe is still under 38,000 km.

How will “Lamb of God” have the time to record a new album if they just finished playing on Slayer’s farewell tour & now playing a festival in Copenhagen?  Still so many releases to come, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Highly Suspect, Pearl Jam & 4 albums that I know are recorded from other groups but not released yet.  I hope the anniversary albums don’t count as a new release?  The one album I do have on preorder, & I’ve had it on preorder since March, is a new Sum 41 set for release July 19th.  Their last 2 albums are impressive, very good hard rock albums!

I’ve known this for a while.  Alter Bridge are having a listening party at the end of September for their new album.

I LOVE the fact that more bands are not allowing cell phones into their concerts!  I wonder what a concert in the 1980s was like?  Probably fun & relaxing….wait….that’s the same all of the time for me!

ANDY McKEE

I can’t tell you much about him.  I never bothered to look into his information.  He’s American, plays acoustic guitar by finger picking through the majority if not all of his songs.  I don’t believe there’s any singing involved.  I have one album of his & it’s all instrumental.  He has 4 albums, 2 EPs, a few singles, & a collaboration with 2 or 3 others on a full album, so says iTunes.

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “Matthew Good Band”, “U2”, “The Struts”, “Big Wreck”, & “Lamb of God”

We went to my parents’ place on Thursday for my father’s 60th birthday.  His birthday was on Monday, but this was the most convenient time to celebrate.  Bitter sweet since my friend’s father died this week.

We had a “Chili’s” restaurant in Regina, now it’s called “Rotisserie”.  Think KFC without any grease, WAY better!  1 bucket of BBQ ribs, garlic potato wedges, ceaser salad, McCain deep & delicious chocolate, a 2L of iced tea (sweet tea), & 1 bucket of chicken.

Friday my in-laws got into town in the afternoon.  We went to Sherry & James’ place in the afternoon to hang out & have supper there, BBQ hamburgers.  We came home fairly late, but Brewster had a great time running around in their backyard.  My cold is finally starting to fade away.

Saturday everyone was here for make your own pizza supper.  I ended up sleeping until 11 am, got up, showered, got dressed, & had my lunch.  Realized the dishwasher was full of clean dishes.  Emptied the dishwasher made my veggie juice for the week & 1 of many teas w/ lemon & honey.

My in-laws drove home Sunday in the late morning.  I said goodbye to them Saturday night in case I slept in, & of course I slept in.  I got up, did all of my morning crap.  Had lunch, boiled some eggs & we went to our friends’ place for our “nephews” first birthday.

It took the little guy a while to fully embrace the 1st birthday party cupcake, but he ended up doing the right way eventually……….it was EVERYWHERE!  A couple of wash clothes later & he was ready to go!

We came home & Kim watched “American Idol” aka a talent contest ruled by 3 celebrities who offer very few if any constructive criticism to help the contestants.  I’d rather not watch it, but I want to spend time with my wife.

Today should be a lazy day of TV, a little bit of laundry, & not much else.

I know that most of you aren’t into metal.  Don’t worry it doesn’t bite & “Uncle” Chris will always hold your hand through it.  I’m going to do a metal group followed by a non-metal group.  Just so you don’t feel overloaded with metal music.

INTO ETERNITY CONCERT, THAT I DIDN’T GO TO.

An underground metal band based in Regina.  This group made me dip my toe into metal music with their 3rd album “Buried in Oblivion”.  I believe the first album was recently put on iTunes.  They just released their 6th album last year after a decade of the odd show here & there.  They tour all over the world & they’ve gone on tour with some big name metal acts like “Megadeth” & “Dream Theater”.  I have the “Gigantour” DVD when they toured with “Megadeth”.  “Into Eternity” & “Opeth” are easily the 2 heaviest bands I listen to, they can also sing you a lullaby though.  I didn’t go to this concert.  My brother was going to take me, but he’s waiting for surgery.  He has bone spurs on his shoulders, it’s hard for him to turn his neck, lift things, & his arms go numb sometimes.  He gets migraines if he doesn’t lay down every 45 minutes.  I figured he likely shouldn’t lift my chair or go to a concert.

I’d love to see them but not at the expense of my brother’s health.  Cheap tickets, $15 for an advanced tickets.  I’ll keep this brief for you.

2000   INTO ETERNITY

2002   DEAD OR DREAMING

2004   BURIED IN OBLIVION

2006   THE SCATTERING OF ASHES

2008   THE INCURABLE TRAGEDY

2018   THE SIRENS

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 400 pushups, 600 leg lifts, 450 crunches, 200 tricep lifts, 450 squats, 300 back flexes.

I fell asleep to “Queen” the double album of “Greatest Hits”

I exercised to “The Struts” both albums on shuffle

Thanks for all of the positive comments they’re great!  I think that when I beat cancer, the positive thoughts & comments may have brought me to this depression thing?  I don’t blame any of you for those thoughts, I think I used them the wrong way?  I probably looked at them as “Hey, I beat cancer I’m a hero!  Listen to me!” what I should have done is stay humble, thanked all of you & carried on as usual.  Instead I let them go straight to my head, not what I should have done!

My depression shows as stress, frustration & stubbornness more than anything else.  I’m not this dark figure with a hood over my face 24 hours a day.  I may have changed a bit but I’m me.  I’m just a different version of me.  I’m happy & I like to goof off a lot.  I am definitely more stubborn.  That’s gene thing from my grandfather on my mother’s side.  For some reason I dialed it up to 100 instead of the natural 10?

I think with that stubbornness came a LOT of frustration.  In that, I wanted to be heard without acknowledging that others may have a different opinion on things.  I’m not a patient or understanding as I use to be.

I was never a vocal person until University.  Until that time I kept my head down & tried not to stir the pot.  I was trying to get through school each day as quietly as possible.

3 things I’m grateful for A) my HUGE support system.  B) I have a roof & 4 walls around me. C) Canadian taxes that support me (sort of) to exercise.

It’s coming………………….. In October!  Big debate online over who’s the best Joker?  Out of the

Yes, according to the president who shall not be named solved the reason for my cancer!  Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

BEN FOLDS FIVE

Right off the top I’ll tell you that I don’t know much about him or his band.  Ben Folds plays piano & sings, the other 2 members play the drums & the bass.  Not super jazzy, but a bit to still be played on radio.  I own one CD of theirs & each time I listen to it, I forgot how much I like it.  Ben Folds was also a judge on a short lived singing show “The Sing Off”.  All of the groups were A Capella groups which bolstered the careers of “Pentatonix” & “Home Free”.  Here are a few songs from their 1997 album….

Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

Music throughout the weekend.  “Devin Townsend”, “In Flames”, “Mark Morton”, “Lamb of God”

I figured I’d just carry on as usual, I’ve always been a little wacky anyways.  My mood is far more level more often than not.  I like my workout physically & here’s hoping I can get to talk to someone who can help me with my head & get it back to normal.  I’d never hurt anyone physically unless they were intending to harm my family or friends.  If it’s a family member hurting another family member, they can figure that out on their own.

Of course I’ll carry on with this blog & exercises.  I think even the mental part of this could be somewhat to do with cancer.  I could be wrong though & I don’t want to play the cancer card as an excuse for my mental health, that wouldn’t be fair in my eyes.  I want to go through this as transparent as possible!  You get to see all of the upcoming blemishes & triumphs as usual.  I like that this blog is transparent.  I want someone/anyone else in a similar situation to read this & figure out what they need to do.

Honestly, metal music calms me down.  I guess it’s my mood that dictates my music choice for that moment?  I can listen to it & mentally try to make sense of the controlled chaos or just disappear into the sound of the music.  Same deal with Blue Jays baseball.  I know the Blue Jay players & they’re the only team I watch but this could be the same thing with any baseball team.  It’s a distraction for my mind.  I know the game to an extent.  If you’re not thinking about how many outs there are, what inning it is, or the outcome of what to do wherever the ball will end up on every pitch, you’re doing it wrong.

Kim says that since I can’t see anyone yet, I should try writing 3 things a day for 21 days, that I’m thankful for.  I can do that!  A) I’m alive.  B) I’m with Kim.  C) Our extended, immediate family & friends that are AWESOME!  A)  Brewster is a very well behaved dog.  B)  I was raised very well.  C)  I live in Canada without the rule of a wanna be dictator.

Friday evening was the 2nd Blue Jays regular season game.  Our “niece” tells me every time she sees me.  “Uncle Chris, we don’t watch baseball in our house.”  She cracks me up!  Just the way she says it!

I’m not American or interested in politics in most cases but watching CNN “from a good safe distance” is very entertaining.

Before Saturday’s game, there’s only 160 games to go.  The pitching & very young players are doing a FANTASTIC job so far.  Even in their first game of the season which they lost 2-0 they played really well!  New, fresh people are good to see & I don’t have any expectations for them this year.  If they win 60-70 games I’d call it a success!  It will be a year full of “Growing Pains”

We watched “The Dirt” on Netflix Friday evening.  I prefer the book.  I’ve never been a fan of their music.  They did it for the wrong reasons if you ask me.  They did it for a life of booze, heroin, cocaine, & to have sex with every female they encountered.  I had 1 or 2 groupies in our first band & I couldn’t get rid of them fast enough.  “No.  I’m not coming up to your hotel room.  I’ve got a TON of gear to load up & a girlfriend.  You can kiss me on my cheek & find someone else to fool around with”.  Not something I’ll ever be interested in!

Kim stepped out to get a few things.  She has been cleaning EVERYTHING Friday & Saturday!  I’ll shout at her from the couch and ask “KIM DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ANYTHING?” & she always says no.  My weekends are quite easy that way.  Stay out of her way & don’t move until I’m told & I randomly ask if I can help with anything.

We finished the day with a spinach & strawberry salad & BBQ steaks.  I made my veggie juice for the week & a glass & ½ of a fruit smoothie.  We watched part 1 of the “Leaving Neverland” documentary, so not for kids!

Part 2 of “Leaving Neverland” this morning, a play date with Mitch & Rachel’s pup.  Toronto Blue Jays 4th game into the regular season & the Blue Jays are 2W-2L.  Better than I expected, but when you consider the small sample size & who they were playing against, this doesn’t really tell you anything yet.  158 games to go around the half way mark in the season is when you can really tell.

THE AGE OF ELECTRIC

Saskatchewan rock band that got 0:05 seconds of fame & broke up after 2 albums.  I believe they grew up in small town Saskatchewan.  I think the singer, Todd Kerns, is now playing bass for Slash.  The guitar player moved on to form a band called “Limblifter” with his brother or cousin on drums?  I only have “The Age of Electric’s” first self – titled album, I heard a lot of the 2nd album that our bass player, Rob Wirtz, in University had.  I’ll give you a bit of both albums in order.

1995   THE AGE OF ELECTRIC

1996   MAKE A PEST A PET
