Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

4 day exercise total; 600 leg lifts, 600 crunches, 200 squats, 200 back flexes, 120 pushups, 600 curls (10 pounds on left arm & 7 pounds on right arm), 600 tricep extensions w/5 pound weight, 400 shoulder raises w/5 pound weight,  stretching, & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Lamb of God” the album “Ashes of the Wake”

I exercised to “Big Wreck” the album “…but the sun”, followed by some of “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Villains”

I had to cut back the back flexes to 300 over a 5 day week, easily the toughest part of my exercise.  I’ve also brought the number of squats down, quality over quantity.  I’m expecting to be at a minimum of 300 in a 5 day week.  Everything else will stay as it is, another sweaty week but feeling good & confident.

So as I was finishing my exercise on Tuesday doing the downward dog yoga pose, I fell getting back to the ground I rammed my face into the ground, off of the mat & on the laminate floor.  Sure it hurt for a bit, I checked my nose & teeth.  My nose wasn’t bleeding & my teeth were all there & not chipped, I was fine, sweaty but fine.

Now that I’m stronger & more confident, I want to do more.  My mind races at night thinking of small things I can do to help around here & elsewhere.  Kim’s been taking are of the house me & Brewster for over 12 years.  I want to step up & do my part here so she doesn’t become overwhelmed.  She comes home from work 5 days a week & makes a REALLY FANTASTIC meal & I clean up after supper.             Other than that, I fold & put away my laundry, vacuum on occasion & sometimes wet Swiffer the floor.  I feel now as though I can do more since I’m here all week.

I can’t afford the moon or anything extravagant.  I can help in smaller ways now.  I’m starting with my grandparents.  They don’t drink water.  So I’ve filled 2X1liter bottle of water flavoured with Mio flavouring so that it tastes more like a juice than plain water.  Something little I can do to help out.  I get excited about stuff like this.  It’s nice to look forward to something other than exercise every day.

I’m getting stronger now, I can tell!  I’m still in a wheelchair, iPatch still, & no driving since Tuesday, February 5th, 2008.  Just physically stronger.  Not only am I able to help out around the house more, but now my mid-life crisis present to myself is back but, if it happens it will likely be a 2/3 life crisis at least.  It was a car & now it’s a PRS guitar.

A bunch of cool stuff none of which I have & it’s pretty!  Mid-life crisis?  13/16 life crisis or pipe dream!

Well forget that!  Brewster went to the vet after Kim was done work Wednesday & the news wasn’t great!  His heart murmur is between a 5 & 6.  6 is the worst, which means a strong possibility of heart enlargement, heart attack &/or fluid in his lungs.  Now I’m EXTREMELY worried.  Tests & definitely medication, just a matter of how much medication?

Kim is home sick today, she’ll likely be spending the day in bed today.  I got up a bit after 6:00 am, got to my exercises while Kim showered & tried to go to work.  She showered and did her hair but never made it out of the bedroom.  I don’t like contract work much.  She’s not there, she doesn’t get paid.  Oh well, not my job & not really my business.

I didn’t even know about this movie on Netflix?  I’ll have to watch it sometime soon!  Here’s the trailer & a review.

New TOOL article/interview as of September 1st!  Long but GREAT album!  Worth the 13 year wait.

Every TOOL fan has seen this lately, I saw it late last week.  Very well done mashup of Taylor Swift & an older TOOL song!

BIG THANKS to Mitch & George Fraser for getting my VERY old electric guitar gear working!!!!!!!  Another thing to look forward to everyday!

I’ve often thought about listening to “Gojira” since I do like “Sepultura”, but something stops me from being a fan every time?

Nobody should like “System of a Down”.  Many of my friends & I think they’re GREAT!   Maybe because there’s nothing that sounds like their music, at least in North America or that I know of?  Here’s a story about their second album out of a total of 5 mass releases.  They’re quite popular.

I don’t think any rock/metal/other band is about to change mainstream music.  It will be a force of many bands & artists to make a significant change.   I couldn’t care less about album sales, as long as I get to hear what I like!

Under rated albums of the 1990s.

More progressive rock/metal but they tend to go quiet & mellow to the heavier side of things throughout a song.  I haven’t done an “Opeth” music guide yet, but they would be “Opeth” lite followed by “Tool” who would be “Earthside” lite.  All 3 of these bands are progressive & they are all capable of doing light atmospheric music on their albums as well as rock & metal, much like “Dream Theater” as well.

When I say “progressive” in reference to these current metal/rock bands, I mean that the songs are often in rare time signatures.  Not always a song you can tap your foot to.  Most radio friendly songs are in a basic 4/4 time.  There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s simple & to the point.  That gets boring for me after a while & other bands will change time signatures 2-6 times in one song.  Then that can become boring & I’ll go back to the 4/4 stuff.  I always listen to the drums in a song.  It’s the rhythm that I listen to the most in a song.

I have one album by “Earthside” so here’s a sampling of it.

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “In Waves”

I exercised to “Foo Fighters” the double album “In Your Honor”

I eat much healthier now.  I pay more attention as to what I’m putting into my body.  You’d mark the calendar when I’d drink water it was so rare.  Now I drink 2.1 liters at least 5 days a week.  I eat more fruit & vegetables too.  I guess I am trying to lose some weight so I can fit into my old T-Shirts.  I was down to 199 pounds during my time in the WRC, I graduated high school at 185.  I lost 2” on my waist.  I lost that weight since I was doing 3 different types of rehabilitation therapy, 17 times a week at the peak of it.  Each therapy session would last 45-60 minutes.  All of that time I ate junk food & couldn’t gain any weight.

We’d come home in the evening then return to the WRC to sleep, since I had exercise therapy at 9:30 am.  I was on methadone, an addictive pain killer that is given to heroin addicts in replace of the heroin.  It must cause people who take it to have a desire for sugar.  I’d get Timbits or a doughnut on the way back to the WRC.  Jason Mewes, Jay of Jay & Silent Bob, was a heroin addict who would go to a methadone clinic every morning, followed immediately by a drive to get a sugary donut.

I’d have either a donut, Timbits, or many Blue Whales every day.  I still eat junk from time to time.  I just don’t have it nearly as much as I used to.  I don’t believe in ‘dieting’.  It works for some people, but I just don’t find them to be realistic.  I drink alcohol but I’m good with 2 drinks Friday & 2 drinks on Saturdays.  If I have more, I’m beyond the point of no return, might as well keep going!

I have no albums preordered for this month, I thought July could be very quiet as far as any happenings in the music world?

Top 30 grunge albums of all time.  For you young hipsters, that’s what alternative rock or hard rock was called in the ‘90s.

I made a boo boo.  I bought an album & 2 Eps by “Blameshift” as well as the 8 song album by “Halflives”.  Then I realized the 2 bands were quite similar?!

Yeah, even Ian Thornley admitted that there was a HUGE Led Zeppelin vibe on this tune!

Dude REALLY!  I don’t play my metal music around Kim, & she doesn’t listen to her country music around me, it’s called compromising.  If someone doesn’t like my music I’ll turn it down or off as much as I don’t want to.  Metal music can easily be offensive, probably more so than any other genres.  You don’t have to give it up, just tone it down.  You don’t have to choose between loving someone else or giving up an interest/hobby!

Even now that I can’t drive, I go to metal shows with my brother or rock shows with my dad.  Kim goes to country music shows with her friends or I go with her to see the odd act that I like.

This can’t be real?  We would have heard something about it.  Release 2019.

Why people hate Nickelback, proved by science?  There are thousands of people who like Nickelback!  Whatever ‘science’ this is, I disagree.  I’m not a Nickelback fan, but I also don’t need to dump on them or their fans!

I fell asleep to “Pearl Jam” the album “Ten”, followed by their album “Vitalogy” work up to pee & fell asleep to their album “VS”

I exercised to “Dire Straits” their “Sultans of Swing” greatest hits album.

Weekly exercise total; 1300 crunches, 150 pushups, & 40 back flexes

So in addition to my exercise, I’m now playing “bass” with Corey, his idea to help me out.  We’re choosing easier songs until my left hand is up to speed.  I get very frustrated trying to play guitar.  Before when I learned, I picked it up learned the notes and basic chords & I was good enough to sing & play in front of an audience.  I never really practiced it.  This week I’ve spent at least half an hour to 1 hour practicing.  It’s a love/hate thing for.  I like doing it, but I hate having to practice something I used to do for fun.  My brain knows what to do, my left hand doesn’t seem to care though.

I’m not playing an actual bass, I’m playing the bass line to the song until my fingers get stronger for actual bass strings.  That’s how I taught myself to play real guitar.  I learned bass lines on acoustic guitar to teach Rob how to play actual bass in University.

After posting on Wednesday, I grabbed my guitar again.  Managed to finally “train” my fingers into playing power chords & a few actual chords.  The change of fingering the chords is slow, but I’m sure it will come eventually.

I was getting a bit down but with Corey’s brilliant idea, me being able to do some of my exercises, & baseball starting soon, I’m in a much better mood.  Great call by Corey noticing I was a little stuck.

We’re learning one song at a time.  Corey & I are Foo Fighters fans.  I figured since we both know the song “Learn to Fly” & it’s pretty easy we’ll start there.  I don’t think Corey has ever sang but he said he’s willing to try.  He asked me, a long time ago if I could teach him.  I don’t know what I’d say other than repetition.  I was terrible when I started, but the more I did it, the better I got at it.  I’m pretty sure being in choir in high school helped.

This director is more known for action movies such as “Paycheck”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Transformers”, etc.  I’m slightly skeptical about him directing a movie about El Chapo

I was listening to a sports talk show Thursday night.  I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks the Blue Jays are set up for disaster in LF & 1B.  If this is what they’re sticking with everything else needs to be perfect!

Today’s workout was brought to you by “Eagles of Death Metal”, all 4 albums on shuffle.

Not much time for me today just did my 420 crunches. Then put away the dishes & made a fruit/vegetable blender drink, that’s my breakfast or once in a while “Rice Krispies” or “Cheerios” with 1% or skim milk.

No more Blue Jays talk until they make a move, likely a trade. This is supposed to be the most active trading off season in many decades. I’d rather wait to see what happens instead of gossiping & speculating about what might happen.

Playing baseball was my first hobby, then I joined choir in grade 10 at high school & music became my preferred hobby since I can’t play baseball? Kim & I did play softball on a paper company’s team for a year or two, that was fun while it lasted! I already had the taste of being in a rock band & that’s what I continued to do. I taught myself guitar & just became more of a tenor singer than a bass/baritone singer, since the melodies in my head were higher than my voice was.

The Agonist shared it………

Top 50 hard rock & metal front men of all-time…

Favourite rock song of 2015? Tough one for me I picked randomly out of the 3 I like.

Rock titan of 2015. I voted for Randy Blythe due to crap he went through in 2012. Guilty of manslaughter until proven innocent?! Does anybody remember what they were doing exactly 2 years ago? I’ve got the documentary on iTunes, but it is no longer there?

One good band helping out another good band.

Article/interview with “Slayer” guitarist Kerry King about the attacks on Paris

This is just ridiculous. He’s gay, it won’t change his voice at all. If you don’t like it, don’t go & don’t sign a messed petition to stop him from doing his job.

Wait………………..Freddie Mercury was gay too! So, you might not like this?

Sinead O’Connor is “safe & sound” after facebook suicide note on Sunday.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/11/sinead-oconnor-found-safe-and-sound-after-posting-suicide-note-to-facebook/ Sorry, this is the only song of hers I know. She didn’t write it, Prince wrote it.

I’ll take “Islander” over “Avenged Sevenfold” any day that end’s in “y”

I might leave you at the end of this week or early next week? Slim pickins on facebook.

Songs I like, “Riff Rock High” one of those “as seen on TV” albums. A compilation of ’70s rock hits!
